UPCL Cricket: Week 12 Part 1

We're back for another week of intense cricket action, beginning with...

Starbucks Cup, Archtown: The Arrows get a second consecutive game against a team that beat them on the road, with the Volcanoes hungry for a sweep here. Starlight had her worst road game of the season, scoring only 182 for Pacific. Sally gave Archtown a slight edge with 279, a workable score. Ms. Kitty shot back with 463 in a bold attack for the Volcanoes, giving them a better second shot at the game. Sleepy B. maintained the Arrows lead, swinging 567 to stay ahead. Jack made it close with 199 for Pacific, but they lack the manpower advantage of hosting. Ruby hit a weak 128, destabilizing the Archtown lead heading into the final players. Leonette took 434 for the Volcanoes, forcing a response as the team closes with 1278. Dusky received an optional replay after a bad bounce, but only had 146 points, and the Arrows lost with 1120. Sweeping the season series extends Pacific's road winning streak to five games, and puts them at 15-8, while Archtown's loss sees them cross the quarter pole at 8-8, and they are the team with the lightest schedule so far.

McDonald's Pitch at Pirates Park, Atlantic: The Pirates took down the Flames just last week in Queens, and will look to double that up at home for the sweep if they can do it again. Crystal started with 384 for Queens, a respectable first effort. Delila continued to struggle two league weeks removed from her record-threatening effort, scoring a meager 135 for Atlantic this time out. An odd bounce killed Kayla's turn at 102 for the Flames, creating a vulnerable lead for the visitors. Amber benefited from a false start replay, allowing her to piece together 586 for the Pirates to gain the lead. Max fell out of rhythm, elbowing the last ball out of bounds to end up with 147 for Queens. Americus struck 471, allowing Atlantic to pull away with a larger lead. Paige got tangled after a decent start, floundering to 164 as the Flames lost with 797 total. Dominic made a mess of his turn with 32 for the Pirates, but they already locked up their win and finished with 1224. Atlantic continues to impress, up to 15-10 now on their four-game winning streak, while Queens will occupy last for a bit at 5-16.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: Two heavyweights will duke it out to jockey for position in the second tier of teams. Twilight left the pitch almost as quickly as she arrived, with just 12 points to her name and the Central score column. Patches pounded 608 for Boston, giving them a large lead early in the game. Dustin fared no better for the Warriors than did their captain, as a bad bounce cut him down with only 82 points. The bounces continued to pester the players, with Puff II giving the Swifts a measly 84 to maintain the lead after another odd sequence. Noelle contributed 240 in what appears to be a lost cause for Central. Gradley tapped 276 for Boston as offense continues to evade the teams this week. Gizmo made a game of things, slamming 905 to put the Warriors at 1239 and force a response from their hosts. Sweetheart's 208 couldn't cut it for the Swifts, who have had two straight snatched from them late at home, falling with 1176. Central's massive surprise will earn Gizmo a hero's welcome as they stand at 16-8, passing two teams to get to fifth overall, while Boston drops to 17-10 in a frustrating moment of weakness.

Capital City SuperCenter: The Surfers will host the return match next week, a quick pair of meetings for these two teams. Watermelon wasted no time, smacking 719 for Pearl to take a strong lead. Chris answered with 331 for Capital City, a fair effort. Neopolitan supplemented the Surfers lead with 415, overcoming her recent struggles to get back to high productivity. Missy answered with a comfortable 684 for the Sharpshooters, really settling into her rhythm to close the gap a bit halfway through the game. Wings stumbled with 225 for Pearl, allowing the game to tighten up some more. Sprinkles surged with 1017 for Capital City, erasing the deficit and turning it into a huge advantage late for the hosts. The Surfers ended up with a loss after Cowzart had only 176, giving them 1535 overall. Dani sealed the huge comeback from the Sharpshooters with 716 herself for a grand total of 2748. Capital City emerges victorious to go to 9-10, while Pearl is 15-7 after losing a third straight road game.

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: Two strong teams are set to duke it out in this game. Graham got shut down with 25 for Eastside off a bad bounce. Twilight settled with 282, opting to skip the replay offering as Central takes a noticeable lead. Chelsea launched 1924 in her turn for the Sharks, giving them a likely untouchable lead with the massive performance. Dustin answered with 783 for the Warriors, while dealing with very unfriendly pitch conditions. Taylor tallied another 602 for Eastside, helping to maintain their lead. Noelle fired back with 706 for Central, keeping them potentially in range. Niki only had 112 for the Sharks, putting them at 2663 overall. Gizmo posted just 64 for the Warriors, and they suffered a loss in the odd game with a total of 1835. Eastside gets the big division win to go to 12-9, while dragging Central to 16-9.

Nike Field, Commerce: The schedule is getting busy for the Sharks, who have this doubleheader's second game, and then a one-game break before returning home, with stiff competition all around. Graham corralled 271 for Eastside in this game, a better showing than last time. Tigerette demolished 674 for Commerce to give them a large initial lead in the game. Chelsea poked 304 for the Sharks, closing some of the gap. Ice Cream added 550 to extend the Tradewinds lead a bit more at the halfway point. Taylor faltered with 69 for Eastside, likely letting the game get away from them. Lionel kept Commerce soaring, tacking on 713 more for the hosts. Niki had just 135 for the Sharks, and they lost with a meager 779 total. Lorde lifted 583 for the Tradewinds, sealing their big win at 2520. Commerce continues to fly high at 18-9, while Eastside drops to 12-10.

The Intel Pitch, Diamond: More East Division shenanigans are featured in this game between a solid road Warriors side and a recently strong Gems team. Twilight continued to struggle with poor Eastern pitches, taking in just 195 for Central in another down effort. Smokey fired back with 687 for Diamond, showing no problems whatsoever. Dustin also performed poorly, taking a measly 112 for the Warriors as their frustration mounts. Citrus shot back with 720 for the Gems as they dominate halfway through the game. Noelle grabbed 263 for Central in a middling appearance. Pedey kept Diamond well in front with his 394 for the hosts, who will almost assuredly defend their turf here. Gizmo's 400 was insufficient for the Warriors, and they took the lost with 970 total points. Cassandra slapped 314 for the Gems, giving them 2115 in the win. Diamond has won four straight at home to improve to 13-12, while Central had a four-game road winning streak snapped as they drop to 16-10 with the loss.

HP Field, Eastside: The Sharks' run of three out of four league games coincides with the first game in a doubleheader for the Eagles. Goldy took 359 for Everton in a somewhat down performance for a leading MVP candidate. Graham kept it close with 304 for Eastside. Puff III ripped 706 for the Eagles in response, contributing healthily to the attack. Chelsea got some of it back with a solid 332 for the Sharks, who may very well just be over-matched and fatigued this game. Cleo kept Everton surging with 624, extending their lead yet again. Taylor kept Eastside at least looking competitive, tallying 455 for the hosts. Blizzard had just 177 for the Eagles, but they end with 1866, well ahead at this time. Niki's 256 was far from enough for the Sharks to make a comeback with, losing on a score of 1347. Everton's iron-fisted grip on the league lead remains as they jump to 21-2 on a seven-game winning streak, while Eastside drops the divisional game to fall to 12-11.

Chevrolet Field, Everton: More all-East Division nuttiness as the Eagles get their second game in a doubleheader while the Warriors play their third in the last five, with the added perk of a Northeast regional rivalry. Twilight carved out 394 for Central, relieving a bit of her recent frustration. Goldy crushed 1217 for Everton, squashing the opposition early. Dustin sliced 320 for the Warriors in response. Puff III kept the lead steady, taking in 313 for the Eagles. Noelle picked up 271 for Central as the game starts to slip away. Cleo continued to maintain the Everton lead, scoring 281 to keep the advantage heading into the final players. Gizmo's 289 put the Warriors at 1274, and they are willing to raise their complaints about game quality one more time, showing a clearly disgruntled team. Blizzard used 431 to cap the Eagles win at 2242, their twelfth in twelve games at home this season. There's not much more to be said about Everton's dominance, as they stand at 22-2, while Central is now 16-11 as their losing streak starts getting out of control.

Toyota Pitch, Freedom: The Flames are the ones looking for a sweep here, but they will have to find good form to overcome the Cascades at home. Crystal stumbled to 249 despite a solid backhand save for Queens, getting them off to a mediocre start. Jasmine answered with 520 in a sloppy but effective turn for Freedom. Kayla had a meager 152 for the Flames, allowing them to fall further behind. Stinky had only 211 for the Cascades as the pitch conditions continue to be sub-par. Max popped 445 for Queens, tightening the game up well for the visitors. Roxy smacked 822 for Freedom in a confident response, extending their lead to likely unreachable levels. Paige took in 215 for the Flames, but they took the loss with 1061. Nikolai rocked another 824 for the Cascades, giving them a final of 2377 in the big win for the Eastern Hills side. Freedom jumps to 13-12, while Queens is now down to 5-17.

Amazon Field, Golden: The first part of the week ends with a massive battle between top, prestigious franchises. Starlight swung 608 for Pacific in a confident opening salvo. Valencia shot back with 484 for Golden, a fierce response among the quasi-rivals. Ms. Kitty stumbled with 184 for the Volcanoes, completely missing on one of her swings. Dusty slapped a quick 414 for the Pilots, giving them the lead halfway through the game. Jack answered with 425 to keep Pacific highly competitive in the well-played game. Strut let Golden fall behind, with 266 being insufficient for them to retain their lead, setting up a lot of pressure for the final players. Leonette did not secure the lead by any means, with her 327 putting the Volcanoes at a final of 1544. A. Charlton couldn't handle the odd bounce with her backhand, taking in only 60 as the Pilots lost with 1224. Pacific walks away with the win to get to 16-8 on their sixth straight overall and road win each, while Golden is 14-11 now.

The final set of games for this week gets going from...

Microsoft Pitch at Del Sur: The Tridents look to carry some recent home success with them as they head out to the coast. Strawberry did her part, setting a solid tone with 543 for Pronger to begin the game. Panda did well to settle a ball on his backhand, but ended up with 184 when he failed to clear it, leaving Southern behind early. Hoot got most it back with 160 for the Tridents, potentially leaving them vulnerable. Shannon couldn't capitalize on her opportunity, overcompensating for a mechanics problem by skying a ball to score 28 for the Monarchs. Precious spiked 751 to gain a bit of security for Pronger as the game gets to its later stages. Kirstin managed 192 for Southern, as the game seems to be out of their reach at this point. Paps slapped a quick 552 for the Tridents, giving them a final of 2006 in a likely victorious effort. Nicole picked up only 36 for the Monarchs, done in by a bad bounce, as the hosts lose with 440. Pronger is now officially in form, going to 9-12, while Southern has lost seven straight at home, falling to 8-18 through a busy start to their season.

GE Stadium, Southridge: Two terrible home teams meet, as the Defenders look to stay out of the basement against a heavily-taxed Monarchs side. Panda produced a reasonable 335 for Southern to get the game going. Boots finally dished out 927 for Southridge, allowing them to experience having a large lead instead of facing one. Shannon answered with 352 for the Monarchs, cutting into the deficit well. Debby looked solid until a deflection brought her turn to an abrupt end at 183 for the Defenders, allowing the lead to shrink a bit. Kirstin rocked 621 to get Southern into the thick of the fight. J. Garcia kept the opposition at bay with 408 for Southridge, maintaining a steady lead. Nicole forced a response by hitting 296, giving the Monarchs a final of 1604. Shaggy blew it away with 497 for the Defenders, giving them a winning score of 2015. Southridge snapped a six-game losing streak to go to 7-18, while Southern is now at 8-19, as both teams are over pace for the season so far.

Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: Highly ranked teams battle in this inter-division game. Valencia's follow-through brought her down at 359 for Golden after a high bounce occurred mid-swing. Snowball cobbled 384 for Swordpoint, giving them a narrow lead to begin with. Dusty struggled on her turn, taking in 226 for the Pilots to restore a small lead. Dreamy raked in 314 to keep the Blades in the lead at the halfway point. Strut got stopped on a redirection that sent him packing with 96 for Golden, putting the visitors in danger late in the game. Shawn slapped 631 to give Swordpoint a more confident lead with a player each to go. A. Charlton produced 513 for the Pilots, but they fell short at 1194 total. Stealth took 304 for the Blades, ending their game with 1633 in a fourth straight home win. Swordpoint stands at 17-5, while Golden wavers to 14-9.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: The Knights hope having a sweep attempt dangling in front of them will help them fix recent struggles at home. Smokey fell back to average performance with 264 to lead off for Diamond. Kiwi pounded 616 for Terrace City to give them a sizable lead, with a three-ball control play highlighting her turn. Citrus faltered with 120 for the Gems, putting them into more trouble. Jennifer cranked out another 725 for the Knights, padding their lead nicely at the midpoint of the game. Pedey took only 206 for Diamond, letting the game get further away. Oreo tacked on 429 for a newly-confident Terrace City. Cassandra slowed down a ball coming for her stumps, but she couldn't stop it from ending her turn at 57 for the Gems, giving them a final of 647 in a tough loss. Stripes cut 290 for the Knights, giving them 2060 in the win. Terrace City snapped a five-game home losing streak to get to 14-10, while Diamond's five-game winning streak ended with their slip to 12-11.

Apple Park, Todavía: The Cascades come out west to face a team very near them in the standings. Jasmine fell out of rhythm and ended with 51 for Freedom, putting them in early danger. Easter handled obstacles and oddities better for Todavía, ripping 1073 for a massive initial lead. Stinky answered with 472 for the Cascades in a solid showing. Sierra quickly re-upped the Stills lead, launching 659 to solidify the advantage. Roxy shot back with 464 for Freedom, keeping the pace of the game high. Leonardo chipped 199 for Todavía, with their lead still very large as the final players come to bat. Nikolai never fully recovered from a slow start, with his 266 putting the Cascades at 1253 total in the steep loss. Sparkles poked a minimalist 20 to give the Stills the win with 1951. Todavía continues to find themselves, now at 12-12, while Freedom drops to that same 12-12 mark.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The Pilots continue their jaunt in the Southwest region with a visit to the Hummingbirds. Valencia hit everything with confidence, rallying for 569 to get Golden going well. Princess did what she could, taking 486 to keep Tysini in range early on. Dusty did not have great pace in her play, producing only 222 for the Pilots as their lead loses strength. Leandra was let down by her backhand attempt, ending her turn at 440 but edging the Hummingbirds into a narrow lead halfway through the game. Strut had a meager 112 for Golden after hitting his last ball a bit wrong. Charli took advantage of the opportunity, ripping 564 to lift Tysini out of danger late in the game. A. Charlton had a responsible 448 for the Pilots, but they had fallen too far behind, losing with 1351. Bright had a light 137 to give the Hummingbirds a final of 1627 in their win. Tysini has won four straight at home en route to 15-7 on the year, while Golden is floundering a bit now at 14-10 in a run of unlucky play.

Sprint Pitch, Victoria: Two West Division teams near the bottom of the table meet for the first time this season. Panda looked good at first but cooled quickly, ending with a respectable 298 for Southern. Spice gave Victoria a noticeable lead, swinging a fast 503 to make the home crowd happy. Shannon took 250 for the Monarchs, but it won't help a whole lot. The Spurs B. Chapman added some drama to the game, stumbling to 33 as the game tightens at half-completion. Kirstin couldn't break free of a poor start, scoring only 221 for Southern as they have a vulnerable lead. Yekaterina couldn't get in the zone, putting up a measly 66 for Victoria as they trail late in the game. Nicole lined 572 to put the Monarchs at a final of 1341. Kavan managed just 144 for the Spurs, and their offense has completely fallen out from under them as they lost with 746. Southern rights the ship a little bit, improving to 9-19, while Victoria is left to wonder at 7-16 on a four-game losing streak.

Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: The Sharks seek a season sweep over the Meteors after taking care of business big time at home. Graham racked up 576 for Eastside to give them a strong lead from the start. Mr. Snowman kept calm and composed in swinging 416 for Viewpoint Sound. Chelsea couldn't get onto her backhand, allowing a ball to take out her wicket and end her contributions to the Sharks offense at 211 points. Mams got embarrassed in slow motion, as a bounce-deflection allowed the Meteors mainstay to swing her bat between two balls and then desperately flick one into her stumps to end her turn at 81. Taylor had just 145 for Eastside in a sub-par turn. Zach hoped the deflected ball would come back to him, but it just edged out of bounds and ended his turn at 162 for Viewpoint Sound in what's become a low-offense game. Niki continued to struggle in recent games, with her 63 leaving the Sharks with a paltry 995 as their final score. Kelly made it look better than it was, drilling 814 to give the Meteors a win with 1473. Viewpoint Sound handled their business to earn the season split, going to 8-10, while Eastside has plateaued a bit at 11-9.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: Strength matches against strength as the currently hot Spiders host the road-resilient Waves, with both teams anteing up big venue-relative winning streaks. Snuggle slipped from recent form, taking 298 for Oceanside. Shadow sliced 503 for Web City, giving them the initial lead while remaining in form. Bells suffered a brutal deflection, redirecting a ball out of bounds to end her turn at 240 for the Waves. Rainmane doubled down for the Spiders, adding another 503 to the offense. Alyssa swatted 475 for Oceanside, doing her part to keep the visitors competitive. Sugar allowed the Web City lead to slip, taking in only 112 after a fast-paced ball on a high arc glided off the end of her bat. Pounce flicked 250 for the Waves, struggling early on as his team closes at 1263, a precarious mark that will force a response. Shiny left no doubt for the Spiders, crushing 812 to give them 1930 in their fifth straight home win. Web City looks like the formidable force they are often expected to be, improving again to 8-10, while Oceanside sees a five-game road winning streak end as they drop to 9-11.

BMW RockDome, Westside: After a win last week at home, the Gems seek the sweep against a well-rested Rockers team. Smokey's double-tap of a ball meant he scored a pathetic 16 for Diamond. Misty came in like a Boeing jet, staking out 727 for Westside to take a huge first lead. Citrus fumbled in trying to get on her backhand, scoring only 124 for the Gems as they face a steeper deficit. Goatee scored 208 for the Rockers in an uninspiring performance. Pedey got 352 back for Diamond in a reasonable effort. Midnight got shut down at 141 for Westside, allowing the advantage to shrink again. Cassandra posted 81 in a poor effort for the Gems, and they took the loss with 573 total. Chicky Phil opted to forgo a replay, taking just 46 but sealing the Rockers win at 1122. Westside splits the season series to go to 6-12, while Diamond falls to an even mark of 12-12.

Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: The final game of the week sees the Swifts head north in an attempt to snag a season sweep of the Shores. Patches set an imposing tone with 895 for Boston to start them off extremely well. Bear tallied 361 in response for Whitewater, a respectable showing. Puff II added only 178 for the Swifts, allowing the lead to lose steam. Twinkie III mishandled a ball, skying it to end her contribution at 84 for the Shores. Gradley stepped up with 703 for Boston, extending their lead in a big way. Cheddar produced a meager 135, an insufficient response for Whitewater as the game slips from their grip. Sweetheart capped the Swifts' efforts with 368 herself for a total of 2144. Wild Thing's 80 left the Shores well short at 660 overall. Boston has won nine straight on the road to improve to 17-9, while Whitewater is at 9-17 with this most recent loss.

Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: The Knights get another game in the northeast, facing an inconsistent Specters side. Kiwi took only 78 for Terrace City in a disappoint opening to the game. Slinks didn't do any better, taking a measly 36 for Harrison as the segment gets off to a cold start. Jennifer took a pathetic 33 for the Knights as scoring remains absent. Twinkie II spiked 432 for the Specters, giving them the first really legitimate lead in the game. Oreo rallied for 784 to give Terrace City a shot at the game, making things competitive in the latter stages. Sydney pulled in 290 in a somewhat messy appearance for Harrison, and they now trail slightly with a player each to go. Stripes swung 537 after a slow start, representative of the game as a whole. The Knights had a final of 1432. Brownie's 272 was not enough for the Specters, as they lost with 1030 after squandering their earlier advantage. Terrace City bounces back for the win to go to 13-10, snapping a four-game losing streak, while Harrison's losing streak is at five games as they fall to 11-15.

Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: Teams near the bottom of the table meet in this match. Pronger got off to a solid start with 484 from Strawberry in the lead off role. Smudge had only 112 in response for Infinity, putting them in a familiar trailing position. Hoot barely cancelled that out, taking a weak 117 for the Tridents as the game turns a bit sloppy. Shelley cut into the deficit with a middling 209 for the Torpedoes. Precious left the Pronger lead in more danger by collecting only 192 on her turn for the visitors. Gabe capitalized more fully for Infinity, pulling 472 to make it a tie game with the final players coming to bat. Paps dribbled 36 for the Tridents, leaving them at 829 and giving the hosts a low bar to clear. Whiskers took only 41, but the Torpedoes emerged with a win on 834 points. Infinity has a bit of momentum now, going to 5-15 with the win, while Pronger's recent surge stalls at 7-11.

Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: The Prestige look to sweep a Spiders side that is playing much better than in their first meeting. Shadow had a mediocre start with only 248 for Web City, leaving them in a bad position. Acorn slugged 907 in response for Lighton, giving them a large lead at the start. Rainmane just barely missed on a backhand flick, but she would have faced more problems, and her 537 is a solid effort for the Spiders regardless of how it ended. Spirit let the Prestige lead slip a bit as she hauled in only 264. Sugar didn't do enough on her turn, scoring 280 for Web City to keep the deficit level. Twinkie I had 529 for Lighton to pad the lead and give them a bit more security late in the game. Shiny struggled with 177 for the Spiders, and they suffered a loss with 1242. Lydia capped the Prestige with 394 from her own score for a total of 2094. Lighton improves to 12-9, while Web City drops to 7-10 as their five-game winning streak comes to an end.

UPS Ground, Maplewood: The East Division gets some time in the spotlight with two middle-of-the-pack teams meeting up. Strawberry had 480 for Pronger, as her recent road efforts remain remarkably steady. Fluffina put Maplewood behind early, grabbing just 99 on her opening turn. Hoot mishit the same ball three times, chipping it once, redirecting a second time, and then slamming it backwards into the stumps the third to end his contributions at 157 for the Tridents. Bryant ripped 920 for the Lumberjacks, flipping the game around as the hosts are now in the lead. Precious tripped up with 106 for Pronger, allowing the deficit to get starker. Diddley tacked on another 633 for Maplewood to solidify the lead heading into the final players. Paps forced a minor response, lining 919 to give the Tridents a final score of 1662, which will likely not be enough anyway. Cubby capped the Lumberjacks win with 409 to give them 2061 total. Maplewood is north of .500 now, standing at 9-8, while Pronger drops to 7-12 as their struggles within the division remain a critical hindrance.

Google Pitch at Union Ground, Modernistic: The Gems put their recent run of good form on the line against the Union. Smokey crushed 940 for Diamond to get them off to an excellent start. Juno faltered with 96 for Modernistic, failing to answer with any semblance of confidence. Citrus got victimized by a bad bounce, taking in only 42 for the Gems. Ms. Puppy also only had 96 for the Union as the hosts see their offense sputtering halfway through the game. Pedey ended on a failed backhand, but he slapped a crisp 648 for Diamond before that happened, extending their lead to likely untouchable lengths. Chimpy answered with 327 for Modernistic, their best of the game but far from enough to be useful. Cassandra found a way to impress in the blowout, dazzling with her bat maneuvering en route to a score of 708, which gave the Gems 2338 as their final in a likely victory. Puff I chopped 476 for the Union, but they still took a brutal loss with 995 total. Diamond stays so hot right now in going to 12-10 on a five-game winning streak, while Modernistic is down to 8-12.

AT&T Oceanside Stadium, Oceanside: The Waves get an opponent they'd rather not face while ice-cold at home, although there doesn't appear to be a good time to face the Eagles this season. Goldy rattled off another impeccable effort, striking 876 for Everton to give them a strong lead. Snuggle got stymied with 232 for Oceanside as another long game looms. Puff III had to react quickly with a ball on her backhand, and this meant posting just 231 to keep the Eagles lead steady. Bells got the Waves much closer, knocking 560 to tighten things up a bit halfway through the game. Cleo picked up 263 for Everton, allowing the lead to get into a precarious position. Verizon Field, Pacific: The Crowns face another stiff challenge in their quest to right the ship. Frosty scooped 227 in a sub-par start for Royal. Starlight had 443 for Pacific, giving them the initial lead by a noticeable margin. Jake couldn't handle a cluttered pitch, picking up just 90 for the Crowns. Ms. Kitty clubbed 776 to give the Volcanoes a larger lead at the halfway mark. Marsell picked up 328 for Royal, but they still face a significant deficit. Jack kept things fairly steady, posting 368 for Pacific as they maintain a big lead in the latter stages of the game. Nightfur had a solid effort with 504 for the Crowns, but they still suffered defeat at 1149 total. Leonette pounded out 538 to ice the Volcanoes win at 2125, a very strong team performance. Pacific is up to 14-8 on the big win, while Royal continues a free-fall to 6-15 as losers of nine straight.

Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: The Surfers face a Lumberjacks team that is working on getting travel-fit after a light schedule to start the season. Fluffina took an average 280 for Maplewood, giving them an unremarkable opening. Watermelon stepped back from her recent pace, but still zipped in 592 for Pearl to give the hosts a lead. Bryant couldn't adjust to all of the weird bounces, falling with 144 for the Lumberjacks. Neopolitan had only 84 for the Surfers, getting completely stunned with a swing-and-miss moment. Diddley slammed 503 for Maplewood, making it a closer game heading into the later portion of the match. Wings flipped 545 before a ball got behind his bat, keeping Pearl in front by a slight margin. Cubby did everything in his power to stay alive, and then broke free for 375 for the Lumberjacks, ending their game at 1302, which will force a response from the hosts. Cowzart tapped 274 to secure the win for the Surfers at 1495. Pearl advances to 15-6, while Maplewood is back to even at 9-9.

Tridents Park sponsored by Ford, Pronger: The Tridents seek a sweep after embarrassing the Union in week 2 in Modernistic. Juno had a poor beginning for Modernistic, scoring 150 to leave the visitors in early danger. Strawberry's misplay at the end of her turn gave her 239 to start Pronger off with a modest lead. Ms. Puppy did not time her final swing well, getting spun around and producing only 160 for the Union after missing a bowled ball completely. Hoot churned out 569 to give the Tridents a confident lead at the game's midpoint. Chimpy had 424, shrinking the deficit a bit for Modernistic with a solid showing. Precious collected 263 for Pronger, allowing the lead to slip slightly before the final batters. Puff I managed only 196 for the Union, and they suffered a loss with 930 overall. Paps added 208 for the Tridents, giving them a winning total of 1279. Pronger has four straight home wins, jumping to 8-12, passing the now 8-13 Modernistic team.

Ebay Center, Queens: The Flames look to build off their recent win, but the Pirates prove a daunting obstacle. These two teams will play the return match in Atlantic next week as well. Delila lined 399 for Atlantic to open the game in good form. Crystal kept it close with 362 for Queens. Amber pummeled 862 for the Pirates, staking out a more stable lead for the visitors. Kayla submitted a strong 487 for the Flames, but they now face a more significant deficit halfway through the game. Americus slammed another 856 for Atlantic, extending the lead in a big way again. Max tripped up with 21 points for Queens, allowing the game to get out of hand. Dominic kept a simple finish, taking 72 for the Pirates to give them 2189 overall. The Flames took their fifth straight home loss as Paige hit 148, giving them a final of 1018 in a brutal defeat. Atlantic continues to ride the good vibes to 14-10, while Queens drops into a three-way tie at the bottom of the table at 5-15.

Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: The cold Crowns side faces arguably the best road team in the Waves to wrap up the second part of this week. Snuggle rocketed Oceanside to a massive opening attack, belting 1044 at the start of the game. Frosty got shut down at 96 for Royal in a poor response. The Waves got another 305 from Bells, who wisely let a ball go through to draw a false start replay. Jake got cut down on an odd bounce, ending his efforts at 148 for the Crowns. Alyssa had just 24 for Oceanside in a rare weak outing. Marsell didn't exactly instill confidence for Royal, pulling in just 160. Pounce played well with 552 for the Waves, capping their scoring at 1925 as they are expected to take another road win, which would be their fifth straight. Nightfur did all she could for the Crowns, demolishing the ball en route to 1100 points, but the hosts fell with 1504 total. Oceanside escaped the late scare, going to 9-10, while Royal is 6-16 on their ten-game losing streak.
