Apple Center, Todavía: Bells v. Bryant. The silver cue starts the day in 15-ball. Todavía's Bells had ball-in-hand late in game 1 after Maplewood's Bryant scratched to end a three-ball run after a mixed game. Bells made the 13 but missed the 15, allowing Bryant a tap-in for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Stills' Bells had a quick finish in game 2 after the Lumberjacks' Bryant made illegal contact. Bells made the 2-15-6 combination to the bottom right and added a glancing shot off the 2 to pot the 15 in the same pocket for the win, tying the series at 1. Bells had a three-ball run early in game 3, but Bryant saw a chance after Bells hit the 8 illegally. Bryant converted a 3-15 combination to the bottom right for the win and 2-1 series win, which sends him to another road date in the third round.
Chevrolet Center, Everton: Cleo v. Avril. The silver cue stays aboard for this 7-ball series. Web City's Avril had the better of play in game 1 as Everton's Cleo struggled to connect her shots. Avril would win on a 5-7 combination to the top left to take the 1-0 series lead in this Northeastern derby. The Spiders' Avril had to work a little harder in game 2 as the Eagles' Cleo went on a three-ball run and looked dangerous. Cleo scuffed her shot on the 7, allowing Avril to mop it up at the bottom left for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Cleo made up for her struggles with a three-ball run to cap game 3, answering an earlier run from Avril, who still won the series 2-1. Avril is set for another road series in round three.
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Pauline v. Leonardo. The red cue takes a turn now in 9-ball. Capital City's Pauline opened game 1 on a six-ball run and added another later, but failed to close it out as Diamond's Leonardo put the 9 in the bottom left for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Sharpshooters' Pauline again had a lot of offense, including a late four-ball run in game 2, but she missed the 8. The Gems' Leonardo made a pair of shots to get the win, sealing the series at 2-0 despite the lack of possession. In game 3, Leonardo had a big four-ball run in the middle, but he couldn't get on track on his next turn, and Pauline fired back on a three-ball run-out for her only win. Leonardo's 2-1 series win takes him on the road in the third round.
Nissan Hall, Infinity: Smudge v. Prism. The red cue gets another go in 7-ball. Infinity's Smudge didn't dominate in game 1, as Todavía's Prism had plenty of opportunities but didn't take advantage of them. Instead, Smudge won with a three-ball run-out, going ahead 1-0 in the series. The Stills' Prism kept herself in the series with a strong game 2 effort, holding off the Torpedoes' Smudge at the end. Prism made a three-ball run-out, including a two-rail bank to put the 7 in the bottom side for the win to tie the series at 1. Prism pulled off the comeback in game 3, making the final two shots after Smudge's attempt at a run fell short. Prism won the series 2-1 and will earn a hosting role in the third round.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Beth v. Luigi. Another red cue series comes in 12-ball. Pearl's Beth made a strong start in game 1 count, weaving around the defense of North Modernistic's Luigi to get her win. Beth finished at the bottom side for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Surfers' Beth had a tougher task in game 2, struggling to get things in the right positions. The Nighthawks' Luigi spoiled it at the end, making his 2 off Beth's 15 at the bottom side before potting the 5 to the bottom right for his win. Luigi tied the series at 1. Beth took an unconventional approach to game 3, working left to right, and it almost worked, but her kick on the 14 at the top side failed. Luigi then made his 6 to the top left for the win and 2-1 series win which propels him to the third round.
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Chris v. Snowball. The captains from the capital territory collide in 10-ball with the red cue. Capital City's Chris had plenty of offense in game 1 but didn't make it count for anything, as Swordpoint's Snowball popped off with a pair at the end to get the win. Snowball leads the series 1-0. The Blades' Snowball made a much stronger case for the game 2 win, producing a six-ball run-out after a mixed start against the Sharpshooters' Chris. With the effort, Snowball clinched the series at 2-0. Snowball and Chris engaged in a back-and-forth battle in game 3, with Snowball taking some early offense before Chris made a pair for the win. Snowball's 2-1 series win sets her up to play on the road again in round three.
Audi Hall, Terrace City: Oreo v. Spirit. Two very heady players collide in 8-ball with the blue cue. Terrace City's Oreo made one of each with a scratch on the break, but Lighton's Spirit also scratched. Two turns in, Spirit had gotten on the 8, but Oreo rallied on a five-ball run-out for the win to go ahead 1-0 in the series. A much choppier battle occurred in game 2, with the Prestige's Spirit ultimately getting a hard-earned win despite a small push by the Knights' Oreo near the end. Spirit's win tied the series at 1 game apiece. Spirit and Oreo had an even battle going in game 3 until an ill-fated cut for Spirit deposited the 8 illegally at the bottom side. Oreo took the gift, winning the game and the 2-1 series to advance to the third round.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: Avril v. Violetta. The host's second series today is a tough test in 9-ball with the silver cue. It wasn't the cleanest game by any measure, but Queens' Violetta emerged with the 1-0 series lead over Web City's Avril by burying the last two shots of game 1. In game 2, the Flames' Violetta made a more focused attack, drawing a four-ball run before potting the last pair again after the Spiders' Avril couldn't muster up a counterattack. This secured the series in Violetta's favor at 2-0. Violetta finished off the series with a four-ball run-out in a strong game 3 performance to sweep Avril. Violetta will again be the visitor in the third round.
UPS Hall, Maplewood: Whiskers v. Patches. Aggressive opponents do battle in 12-ball with the silver cue. Maplewood's Whiskers was in a no-win situation after the game 1 break, and chose to keep stripes while gifting Boston's Patches a solid wild-card ball. Patches made easy work of the rest of her suit for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Swifts' Patches tried to use brute force in game 2, giving away a pair of wild-card ball but also falling out of position. This allowed the Lumberjacks' Whiskers to take her time for the win that tied the series at 1. Whiskers made some bold positioning plays in game 3, but it worked to her advantage, as Patches was caught lagging behind as Whiskers took the win and 2-1 series win. Whiskers heads off to the third round.
Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Dustin v. Bryant. The silver cue stays on again for a series of Accuracy between Northeast foes. Central's Dustin had a strong grasp on game 1, and Maplewood's Bryant hung around but fell off at the end. Dustin won 1-4 and took a 1-0 series lead in the process. Things turned for the worse for the Warriors' Dustin in game 2, who hit the skids and failed to get back on track against a fierce attack from the Lumberjacks' Bryant. The score was 1-4, but Bryant won this time to tie the series at 1. In game 3, it looked like Dustin was prepping for a comeback, but he fell apart at the end as Bryant locked down a 2-4 win to get the 2-1 series win. Bryant is off to the third round, which will see him on the road again.
Chevrolet Center, Everton: Goldy v. Sweetheart. The blue cue returns now for a series of 15-ball. After an even start and plenty of mistakes in game 1, Everton's Goldy gradually pulled away from Boston's Sweetheart, culminating in Goldy winning on a three-ball run-out. Goldy leads the series 1-0. The Swifts' Sweetheart didn't falter in game 2, battling again through a tough start with the Eagles' Goldy before making the last four balls over two turns. Sweetheart's win tied the series at 1. Sweetheart came to play with a five-ball run off the break in game 3. It looked like it would be wasted as Goldy charged with a four-ball run at the end, but she missed the 15 and Sweetheart converted for the win to take the series 2-1. Sweetheart will be on the road again in round three.
UPS Hall, Maplewood: Summer v. Dustin. The red cue is set to go in another Northeastern rivalry of 13-ball. Scratches early on and a wicked battle for positioning created an exciting finish to game 1, which saw Summer's Maplewood just tap the 8 to the bottom side despite Central's Dustin trying to defend. Summer owns a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 was a similar battle between the players, slow-moving but dramatic. The Lumberjacks' Summer attempted to set up a long finishing run in game 2, but it didn't work out, as the Warriors' Dustin poked the 8 to the top right before Summer could ignite. Dustin's win tied the series at 1. Game 3 didn't come down to the wire at all, as Summer got well ahead of Dustin and finished things off fairly quickly for the win and 2-1 series win. Summer will head to the third round.
Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Valencia v. Sydney C. The silver cue returns for a Rotation series. Golden's Valencia held the lead initially in game 1, but Modernistic' Sydney C. was too strong at the end, winning 8-4 to take the 1-0 series lead in an otherwise unremarkable game. The Union's Sydney C. wouldn't falter in game 2, building up a big lead with a four-ball run from the break. The Pilots' Valencia never recovered from that as Sydney C. finished up an 8-3 win to clinch the series at 2-0. Valencia didn't leave the series empty-handed, coming from behind for an 8-5 win over Sydney C. in game 3. Sydney C. will be the one going to the third round, however.
Sony Center, Queens: Hannah v. Precious. The red cue's final series of the day comes in Accuracy. Game 1 was a thrilling battle that saw each player miss only once in regulation. Queens' Hannah came through on the break and Pronger's Precious couldn't pick anything out of the cluster, giving Hannah the 1-2 win and 1-0 series lead. The Flames' Hannah struggled at first in game 2, but when she gained control at the end, the Tridents' Precious spun out of control. Hannah took the 2-4 win to seal the series at 2-0. Hannah almost saw the script flipped on her in game 3, but Precious couldn't hang on in regulation. Both players missed shots in overtime, and Hannah eventually emerged with the 3-4 win to make it a 3-0 series sweep. Hannah will host her third-round series.
Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Twilight v. Gabe. The silver cue is next up in 7-ball between Northeastern rivals. Central's Twilight had most of the offense in game 1, but Maplewood's Gabe struck at the right time with the last two balls to get the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Warriors' Twilight tried a couple of things in game 2, but neither worked, and the Lumberjacks' Gabe countered with a five-ball run-out to get the win that secured the series at 2-0. Twilight wouldn't finish without a win, smashing a four-ball run-out capped by the 4-7 combination to the top left at the end of game 3. Gabe still won the series 2-1, punching his ticket to round three.
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Panda v. Jake. The blue cue finishes the day with a 15-ball series. Royal's Jake surged late in game 1 with a six-ball run, but he missed a 14-15 combination to the bottom right. Southern's Panda potted the final pair separately for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Crowns' Jake again saw a late error ruin an otherwise strong performance. The Monarchs' Panda took ball-in-hand after Jake scratched on the 14, potting the 15 for his win. Panda leads the series 2-0 now. Panda had a five-ball run from the break and a three-ball run before scratching late in the game. This led to Jake taking the 15 from ball-in-hand for the win to make it a 2-1 series for Panda, who will be on the road in the third round.

Tournament 2019 - Round 2 Day 2
Continuing the second round, we have...
Sony Center, Queens: Mario v. Tigerette. The silver cue gets the start today, leading off with 13-ball. Queens' Mario played a clean game 1, capitalizing late after Commerce's Tigerette had a scratch. Mario was able to get a pair of shots at the end for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Flames' Mario looked very good after starting game 2 on a four-ball run, but he scratched twice and allowed the Tradewinds' Tigerette to catch him. Tigerette wouldn't hesitate on her three-ball run-out for the win, tying the series at 1. Game 3 was a tense and defensive battle as neither player wanted to give up positioning. Mario had a few scratches but also pushed Tigerette around just enough to sneak by her for the win. Mario took the series 2-1 and earned a spot in the third round. This accounts for Tigerette's 100th unique opponent.
IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Peach v. Fuchsia. The silver cue goes again for 8-ball. Back-to-back four-ball runs by North Modernistic's Peach in game 1 made for a quick and decisive victory over Midland's Fuchsia, who potted a pair. Peach leads the series confidently at 1-0. The Predators' Fuchsia made an improvement in game 2 with a four-ball run to assert control. The Nighthawks' Peach flubbed a shot, but it worked out, as Fuchsia tried to separate her last two balls from the pack and ended up illegally potting the 8 instead. Peach will take the gifted win, which seals the series at 2-0. Fuchsia again took control with a five-ball run in game 3, but her kick attempt caused the 8 to again be potted illegally. Peach swept the series 3-0, although hardly on her own merit, and she'll host again in the third round.
Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Nicole v. Isabella. The red cue draws in now for a 13-ball series. The players alternated control of the offense in game 1, with Atlantic's Isabella getting a good push in the middle around two attacks from Lighton's Nicole, the latter being a three-ball run-out for the win. Nicole leads the series 1-0. The Pirates' Isabella held the lead for much of game 2, attacking with confidence but falling out of position. Isabella's attempted kick on the 1 to the bottom right struck the 8 to that pocket instead, gifting the Prestige's Nicole with the win and the series at 2-0. Nicole just didn't have the positioning to keep up with Isabella in game 3. Isabella did better of keeping a clean performance before striking a pair for the win. Nicole advances to the third round on a 2-1 series win.

Scratches defined game 1, as Golden's Max had one on the break and another at the end of the game, allowing Web City's Ted to overcome a scratch of his own for the 3-4 win. Ted leads the series 1-0. The Spiders' Ted upped his game, playing perfectly in game 2 while the Pilots' Max skidded from the start. Max righted the ship by the end, but Ted easily won 0-3 to clinch the series at 2-0. Ted fell behind early in game 3, but it didn't last for long, as Max hit the skids in the middle of the game. Ted slipped up again later but held on to win 2-3 for the 3-0 series sweep. Ted will visit Wild Thing of the Stonebridge Wolves in round three.

Web City's Chicky Phil kept himself in the fight throughout game 1, but a misplaced shot on the 15 allowed Southridge's Bianca to cash in her many small advantages for the 8-7 win and 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Bianca had a slow start before rattling off a five-ball run to grab the lead. The Spiders' Chicky Phil made it a little closer on his own three-ball run, but Bianca won 8-4 to clinch the series at 2-0. Bianca kept up her offense in game 3, working a nice four-ball run-out after wrangling the early lead from Chicky Phil. Bianca's 8-3 win this time locked up a 3-0 series sweep to put her on the road again in the third round.
GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Debby v. Bandit. The silver cue returns now for 10-ball. Southridge's Debby had the early edge in game 1, but after the 4, she struggled. Swordpoint's Bandit wasn't strong, but his three-ball run-out was enough to win for the 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Debby stretched out a three-ball run in game 2 before missing contact on a kick attempt toward the 6. The Blades' Bandit recovered for a four-ball run-out this time, securing the series at 2-0. In game 3, Bandit had a little early offense before Debby steamrolled him with a six-ball run-out for the win. Bandit settled for a 2-1 series win earn a spot in round three as a visitor.

After a fairly balanced start to game 1, Maplewood's Summer dropped off the pace while Queens' Hannah ripped a six-ball run-out for the 1-0 series lead. The ending took longer to materialize, but the Flames' Hannah found a path to victory on a four-ball run-out, giving her the series at 2-0 over the Lumberjacks' Summer. Hannah put a quicker end to game 3, capitalizing on missed contact by Summer on the 3. Hannah buried it to the bottom left and double-potted the 4 and 15 at the top right for the win to make it a 3-0 series sweep sending her to the third round.
Apple Center, Todavía: Bells v. Shadow. A couple of established veterans clash in 9-ball with the blue cue. Todavía's Bells scratched after making a pair on the break, but added a four-ball run-out to sandwich a three-ball run from Diamond's Shadow. Bells leads the series 1-0. The Gems' Shadow deserved better from game 2, as he posted a six-ball run but missed a tough cut on the 7. The Stills' Bells used the 7, banking it off the top rail to glance the 9 to the top right on a combination for the win, which sealed the series at 2-0. Shadow again had a majority of possession in a slower game 3, but his whiff on the 8 allowed Bells to again lock things down at the end. Bells swept the series 3-0 and will host her third-round series.
Ford Forum, Pronger: Lize v. Jake. The silver cue cycles in to start the second half of the day with 12-ball. Pronger's Lize squandered a promising start to game 1 with a late scratch, buying enough time for Royal's Jake to complete the comeback with a pair of shots for the win. Jake owns a 1-0 series lead. The Tridents' Lize did better in game 2 with a four-ball run to get ahead. The Crowns' Jake turned to defensive positioning in the end, but it didn't stick. Lize kicked the 9 to the bottom side for the win to tie the series at 1. Lize gave away a wild-card ball on the break in game 3, and while she lined her shots up fairly well, she was unable to overcome the four-ball run-out Jake executed at the end for the 2-1 series win. Jake heads to the third round with this series win.
McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Jason N. v. Hughbert. A pair of struggling and inexperienced players meet in 7-ball with the blue cue. Infinity's Hughbert had a chance to finish off a back-and-forth game 1, but he missed the 7 at the top side. Atlantic's Jason N. mopped it up for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Jason N. controlled a majority of game 2, but it was his late scratch that set up a pair of shots from ball-in-hand for the Torpedoes' Hughbert to get the win. Hughbert tied the series at 1 game apiece. Hughbert opened game 3 on a four-ball run, and then picked off the 7 after Jason N.'s counterattack fell short. Hughbert won the series 2-1, but he'll again be a visitor in the third round.
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Dominic v. A. Charlton. The blue cue stays up for this Accuracy set. Archtown's Charlton failed to keep up with Southern's Dominic at the end of a competitive game 1. Dominic was able to stroll his way to a 1-4 win, taking a 1-0 series lead in the process. Game 2 saw a similar format, with the Monarchs' Dominic making a ball on the break this time. The Arrows' Charlton hung around until she missed twice nearing the late-game. Dominic held on for the 1-3 win, sealing the series at 2-0. In game 3, Charlton improved again, keeping it close at the end, but Dominic made a tough cut on the last ball for the 1-2 win. Dominic took the series 3-0 and will move onto round three.
Google Hall, Modernistic: Sydney C. v. Salmo. In 8-ball, the red cue makes a return. Modernistic's Sydney C. had a good start to game 1, but she cracked under pressure after Southern's Salmo posted a three-ball run. Sydney C. tried a kick that sent the 8 to the top side too early, gifting the 1-0 series lead to Salmo. The Union's Sydney C. again pulled ahead in game 2, but that lead evaporated as the Monarchs' Salmo made a strong push at the end. His shot on the 8 ended up just short at the bottom left, where Sydney C. tapped it in for the win to tie the series at 1. Sydney C. put on a vicious six-ball run in game 3, then battled with Salmo in a tough finish. Sydney C. defended well and grabbed the win with a pair of shots at the end to take the series 2-1 as she makes it to the third round.
Cisco Arena, Tysini: Vincent v. Taylor M. Rotation is the next series, played with the blue cue between young foes. Tysini's Vincent had an early lead, but the two players alternated short attacks. Eastside's Taylor M. lost control at the end, as Vincent pulled away for the 8-5 win and 1-0 series lead. The Sharks' Taylor M. did not go quietly, starting with a three-ball run and then adding a four-ball run after the Hummingbirds' Vincent tied it. Taylor M. got the last shot to win 8-3, tying the series at 1. Vincent reversed that script in game 3, taking a couple large runs of his own to pick up the 8-4 win as Taylor M. lagged behind. Vincent won the series 2-1 and will host another set in the third round.
Sony Center, Queens: Briana v. Beth. The visitor begins a road doubleheader with 10-ball and the silver cue. Queens' Briana accidentally potted the 10 early in game 1, but she cleaned it up at the top left after Pearl's Beth missed at the top right later on. Briana's stroke of good fortune puts her up 1-0 in the series. The Flames' Briana had a good break that ended with an unlucky scratch. The Surfers' Beth paced the attack throughout game 2, but she came up short on the 10 and Briana finished it off for a cheaper win to seal the series at 2-0. Beth wouldn't leave empty-handed, taking game 3 on a four-ball run-out with a deflection off the 9 to send the 10 into the bottom right. Briana still won the series 2-1 to advance to another home series in the third round.
T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Sage v. Beth. Completing the doubleheader, there's a series of 13-ball with the blue cue. Pearl's Beth hung around for a bit in game 1, but she didn't have a meaningful plan to finish the effort. Victoria's Sage was careful with positioning, working a five-ball run-out to snag the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Spurs' Sage used meticulous planning in game 2 after falling behind the Surfers' Beth. Sage set up her shots elegantly, while Beth worked into the late-game. Sage's plan worked, as she had a four-ball run and a three-ball run-out for the win to secure the series at 2-0. Sage wasn't quite able to execute her attack right in game 3, falling at the end to a three-ball run-out from Beth. Sage took the series 2-1 and she'll play in the third round.

Southern's Dominic compounded the pain by taking the 15 from ball-in-hand at the top right for the win and 1-0 series lead. In game 2, the Monarchs' Dominic showed the Cascades' Nikolai how to close out a game, working a five-ball run-out with the 15 dropping at the bottom right for the win. Dominic clinched the series at 2-0 in the process. Dominic followed it up in game 3 with a slow start that turned into another five-ball run-out to complete the series sweep at 3-0. Dominic will host his round three series.

The Spiders' Ted upped his game, playing perfectly in game 2 while the Pilots' Max skidded from the start. Max righted the ship by the end, but Ted easily won 0-3 to clinch the series at 2-0. Ted fell behind early in game 3, but it didn't last for long, as Max hit the skids in the middle of the game. Ted slipped up again later but held on to win 2-3 for the 3-0 series sweep. Ted will visit Wild Thing of the Stonebridge Wolves in round three.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: Chicky Phil v. Bianca. After the break, the red cue is in action with Rotation. Web City's Chicky Phil kept himself in the fight throughout game 1, but a misplaced shot on the 15 allowed Southridge's Bianca to cash in her many small advantages for the 8-7 win and 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Bianca had a slow start before rattling off a five-ball run to grab the lead. The Spiders' Chicky Phil made it a little closer on his own three-ball run, but Bianca won 8-4 to clinch the series at 2-0. Bianca kept up her offense in game 3, working a nice four-ball run-out after wrangling the early lead from Chicky Phil. Bianca's 8-3 win this time locked up a 3-0 series sweep to put her on the road again in the third round.
GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Debby v. Bandit. The silver cue returns now for 10-ball. Southridge's Debby had the early edge in game 1, but after the 4, she struggled. Swordpoint's Bandit wasn't strong, but his three-ball run-out was enough to win for the 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Debby stretched out a three-ball run in game 2 before missing contact on a kick attempt toward the 6. The Blades' Bandit recovered for a four-ball run-out this time, securing the series at 2-0. In game 3, Bandit had a little early offense before Debby steamrolled him with a six-ball run-out for the win. Bandit settled for a 2-1 series win earn a spot in round three as a visitor.
UPS Hall, Maplewood: Summer v. Hannah. The silver cue remains in action as younger players meet in 15-ball. After a fairly balanced start to game 1, Maplewood's Summer dropped off the pace while Queens' Hannah ripped a six-ball run-out for the 1-0 series lead. Game 2 had a very similar start as the players just chipped in offense when they could. The ending took longer to materialize, but the Flames' Hannah found a path to victory on a four-ball run-out, giving her the series at 2-0 over the Lumberjacks' Summer. Hannah put a quicker end to game 3, capitalizing on missed contact by Summer on the 3. Hannah buried it to the bottom left and double-potted the 4 and 15 at the top right for the win to make it a 3-0 series sweep sending her to the third round.
Apple Center, Todavía: Bells v. Shadow. A couple of established veterans clash in 9-ball with the blue cue. Todavía's Bells scratched after making a pair on the break, but added a four-ball run-out to sandwich a three-ball run from Diamond's Shadow. Bells leads the series 1-0. The Gems' Shadow deserved better from game 2, as he posted a six-ball run but missed a tough cut on the 7. The Stills' Bells used the 7, banking it off the top rail to glance the 9 to the top right on a combination for the win, which sealed the series at 2-0. Shadow again had a majority of possession in a slower game 3, but his whiff on the 8 allowed Bells to again lock things down at the end. Bells swept the series 3-0 and will host her third-round series.
Ford Forum, Pronger: Lize v. Jake. The silver cue cycles in to start the second half of the day with 12-ball. Pronger's Lize squandered a promising start to game 1 with a late scratch, buying enough time for Royal's Jake to complete the comeback with a pair of shots for the win. Jake owns a 1-0 series lead. The Tridents' Lize did better in game 2 with a four-ball run to get ahead. The Crowns' Jake turned to defensive positioning in the end, but it didn't stick. Lize kicked the 9 to the bottom side for the win to tie the series at 1. Lize gave away a wild-card ball on the break in game 3, and while she lined her shots up fairly well, she was unable to overcome the four-ball run-out Jake executed at the end for the 2-1 series win. Jake heads to the third round with this series win.
McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Jason N. v. Hughbert. A pair of struggling and inexperienced players meet in 7-ball with the blue cue. Infinity's Hughbert had a chance to finish off a back-and-forth game 1, but he missed the 7 at the top side. Atlantic's Jason N. mopped it up for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Jason N. controlled a majority of game 2, but it was his late scratch that set up a pair of shots from ball-in-hand for the Torpedoes' Hughbert to get the win. Hughbert tied the series at 1 game apiece. Hughbert opened game 3 on a four-ball run, and then picked off the 7 after Jason N.'s counterattack fell short. Hughbert won the series 2-1, but he'll again be a visitor in the third round.
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Dominic v. A. Charlton. The blue cue stays up for this Accuracy set. Archtown's Charlton failed to keep up with Southern's Dominic at the end of a competitive game 1. Dominic was able to stroll his way to a 1-4 win, taking a 1-0 series lead in the process. Game 2 saw a similar format, with the Monarchs' Dominic making a ball on the break this time. The Arrows' Charlton hung around until she missed twice nearing the late-game. Dominic held on for the 1-3 win, sealing the series at 2-0. In game 3, Charlton improved again, keeping it close at the end, but Dominic made a tough cut on the last ball for the 1-2 win. Dominic took the series 3-0 and will move onto round three.
Google Hall, Modernistic: Sydney C. v. Salmo. In 8-ball, the red cue makes a return. Modernistic's Sydney C. had a good start to game 1, but she cracked under pressure after Southern's Salmo posted a three-ball run. Sydney C. tried a kick that sent the 8 to the top side too early, gifting the 1-0 series lead to Salmo. The Union's Sydney C. again pulled ahead in game 2, but that lead evaporated as the Monarchs' Salmo made a strong push at the end. His shot on the 8 ended up just short at the bottom left, where Sydney C. tapped it in for the win to tie the series at 1. Sydney C. put on a vicious six-ball run in game 3, then battled with Salmo in a tough finish. Sydney C. defended well and grabbed the win with a pair of shots at the end to take the series 2-1 as she makes it to the third round.
Cisco Arena, Tysini: Vincent v. Taylor M. Rotation is the next series, played with the blue cue between young foes. Tysini's Vincent had an early lead, but the two players alternated short attacks. Eastside's Taylor M. lost control at the end, as Vincent pulled away for the 8-5 win and 1-0 series lead. The Sharks' Taylor M. did not go quietly, starting with a three-ball run and then adding a four-ball run after the Hummingbirds' Vincent tied it. Taylor M. got the last shot to win 8-3, tying the series at 1. Vincent reversed that script in game 3, taking a couple large runs of his own to pick up the 8-4 win as Taylor M. lagged behind. Vincent won the series 2-1 and will host another set in the third round.
Sony Center, Queens: Briana v. Beth. The visitor begins a road doubleheader with 10-ball and the silver cue. Queens' Briana accidentally potted the 10 early in game 1, but she cleaned it up at the top left after Pearl's Beth missed at the top right later on. Briana's stroke of good fortune puts her up 1-0 in the series. The Flames' Briana had a good break that ended with an unlucky scratch. The Surfers' Beth paced the attack throughout game 2, but she came up short on the 10 and Briana finished it off for a cheaper win to seal the series at 2-0. Beth wouldn't leave empty-handed, taking game 3 on a four-ball run-out with a deflection off the 9 to send the 10 into the bottom right. Briana still won the series 2-1 to advance to another home series in the third round.
T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Sage v. Beth. Completing the doubleheader, there's a series of 13-ball with the blue cue. Pearl's Beth hung around for a bit in game 1, but she didn't have a meaningful plan to finish the effort. Victoria's Sage was careful with positioning, working a five-ball run-out to snag the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Spurs' Sage used meticulous planning in game 2 after falling behind the Surfers' Beth. Sage set up her shots elegantly, while Beth worked into the late-game. Sage's plan worked, as she had a four-ball run and a three-ball run-out for the win to secure the series at 2-0. Sage wasn't quite able to execute her attack right in game 3, falling at the end to a three-ball run-out from Beth. Sage took the series 2-1 and she'll play in the third round.
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Dominic v. Nikolai. The red cue will close the day out in 15-ball. Freedom's Nikolai had an impressive six-ball run in game 1 come to an end with an unfortunate scratch. Southern's Dominic compounded the pain by taking the 15 from ball-in-hand at the top right for the win and 1-0 series lead. In game 2, the Monarchs' Dominic showed the Cascades' Nikolai how to close out a game, working a five-ball run-out with the 15 dropping at the bottom right for the win. Dominic clinched the series at 2-0 in the process. Dominic followed it up in game 3 with a slow start that turned into another five-ball run-out to complete the series sweep at 3-0. Dominic will host his round three series.

Tournament 2019 - Round 2 Day 1
It's finally here: the second round of Tournament 2019 action. We'll be attempting to bump up to 48 games (16 series) per day. Leading off...
Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Nicole v. Leonette. The first series of the day is in 7-ball with the red cue. Lighton's Nicole had a three-ball run early in game 1 and added a pair at the end for the win, while Pacific's Leonette had only a pair in the middle. Nicole leads the series 1-0. The Prestige's Nicole seemed to have a good chance at game 2 as well, but she missed the 7, ending a four-ball run and allowing the Volcanoes' Leonette to tap in the winning shot at the bottom right. Leonette's victory tied the series at 1. Game 3 was a carbon copy of the one before, with Nicole posting another four-ball run but missing on the 7. Leonette took the series at 2-1 by cutting the 7 to the top left for the win. Leonette is the first player to punch her ticket to round three.
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Sprinkles v. Easter. The silver cue gets a turn now, playing 15-ball. Todavía's Easter had the majority of the offense in game 1, cashing in at the end with a three-ball run-out to get the win and 1-0 series lead over Capital City's Sprinkles, who was decent in the opener. The Sharpshooters' Sprinkles tied the series with her win in game 2, a chippy battle and much less exciting than the first one. The Stills' Easter had a chance for the win but left the 15 short at the top right for Sprinkles to pot to make it 1-1. Easter completed the series well, battling with Sprinkles in another even game before rallying for a three-ball run-out to get the win and 2-1 series win. Easter will head to the third round for a road series.
Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Gradley v. Bandit. The red cue returns for Rotation. Boston's Gradley lifted the crowd to its feet on a seven-ball run to open game 1. Swordpoint's Bandit nearly matched it, a six-ball run getting him close, but Gradley slammed the door with the 14 to the top right for the 8-6 win and 1-0 series lead. The Swifts' Gradley found himself behind after the Blades' Bandit made six balls over his first two turns. Gradley didn't falter, catching up over the next two turns and closing out an 8-7 win to seal the series at 2-0. Bandit led for much of game 3, but he allowed Gradley to catch him in the middle of the game, and then Gradley had a four-ball run-out for the comeback 8-6 win and 3-0 series sweep. Gradley will appear in the third round.
Audi Hall, Terrace City: Kiwi v. Taylor M. The red cue goes again in this 8-ball series that sees the first top-four seed play. Terrace City's Kiwi had a good start in game 1, but Eastside's Taylor M. took it a notch higher. Taylor M. made a double-pot of the 14 and 10 to the side pocket to get onto the 8, which she made a turn later for the 1-0 lead in the series. The Sharks' Taylor M. didn't play poorly in game 2, but a late scratch opened the door for the Knights' Kiwi to finish off her win with a double-pot and a three-ball run-out, tying the series at 1 in the process. Kiwi and Taylor M. played a balanced game 3, but Kiwi missed contact on her last ball, and Taylor M. took the win from ball-in-hand. She also won the series 2-1 and advanced to the third round.
Cisco Arena, Tysini: Leandra v. Hoppy. When we return, the blue cue debuts for the round in 15-ball. Tysini's Leandra had the edge in game 1, but nearly gave the game away with a late miss on the 15. Archtown's Hoppy then scuffed her shot, allowing Leandra to tap the 15 home for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Hummingbirds' Leandra came to play in game 2, beginning on an electrifying nine-ball run, adding a three-ball run on the next turn and then mopping up the 15 at the bottom right after the Arrows' Hoppy missed it. Leandra clinched the series at 2-0. Leandra made another good effort in game 3, but this time she came up short, and Hoppy converted a three-ball run-out for the win. Leandra settled for a 2-1 series win to put her in round three.
Volkswagen Stadium Events Center, Viewpoint Sound: Frosty v. Diddley. Two tough veterans tangle in 13-ball with the red cue. Viewpoint Sound's Frosty made a pair on the break, then added a three-ball run in the middle and a pair at the end, never slowing down in her win over Maplewood's Diddley. Frosty leads the series 1-0. The Meteors' Frosty kept her edge early in game 2, and as the Lumberjacks' Diddley struggled with his ball at the top right, Frosty patiently put the 8 in position. She kicked it to the bottom left for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Diddley held the lead for much of game 3, but a three-ball run by Frosty pulled her ahead late. Diddley made his last two balls on the next turn, but left the 8 aligned for Frosty at the bottom right, where she converted for the win. Frosty swept the series 3-0 to reach the third round.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Neopolitan v. Bright. Surfers teammates collide in 13-ball with the red cue. Game 1 saw a hot start where Neopolitan spotted a pair of balls to Bright. In the late game, Bright struggled and scratched, giving Neopolitan time to overcome her own issues for the win to take a 1-0 series lead. Neopolitan again made a couple of shots from the break, and she worked to keep her advantage. Bright picked up the corners easily but couldn't line up anything at the sides before Neopolitan's three-ball run-out came in. Neopolitan secured the series at 2-0. Game 3 was a close and slow battle that saw Neopolitan miss contact on the 8 at the top right before Bright scratched while making it at the tricky corner. Neopolitan got away with one in the 3-0 series sweep that sends her to the third round.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: Jack v. Cubby. Club-mates meet in 15-ball with the silver cue. After a slow start, Eastside's Cubby broke out with a four-ball run. It wouldn't be enough, as Web City's Jack came back with a five-ball run-out for the game 1 win and 1-0 series lead. Game 2 didn't have the fast-paced finish, instead seeing the two players chip in one or two shots back-and-forth. The Spiders' Jack got the last ball, sinking the 15 when the Sharks' Cubby missed it, which gave Jack the series at 2-0. Another shaky performance early in game 3 was quickly forgotten when Jack confirmed his 3-0 series sweep over Cubby with a four-ball run-out. Jack moves on to the third round.
Toyota Arena, Freedom: Roxy v. Mitchell. The blue cue cycles back in for this 8-ball series. Freedom's Roxy slowly but surely developed her offense throughout game 1, doing enough defensively to hold off Victoria's Mitchell for the win. Roxy leads the series 1-0. The Cascades' Roxy couldn't repeat the effort in game 2, keeping things close at first but falling off the board as the Spurs' Mitchell made a three-ball run-out for the comeback win. Mitchell tied the series at 1. In game 3, Mitchell had a late scratch to slow him down, but Roxy wasn't able to execute a final run, and Mitchell banked the 3 to the bottom side before potting the 8 at the top side for the win. Mitchell took the series 2-1 and will play in round three.
Kraft Forum, Royal: Kayla v. Shawn. The red cue is back for this series, which was mislabeled as featuring Steven as the visitor on the official schedule. Royal's Kayla seemed to have a grip on game 1, but she let it slip late. Midland's Shawn was far from clinical, but he made three balls over two turns to pick up the win and 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Shawn had a three-ball run at the start of game 2 and produced another one at the end after a mixed middle with the Crowns' Kayla. Shawn's late push was enough to win for the 2-0 lead in the series. Kayla looked better in game 3, but it wasn't enough when her five-ball run ended short on the 9. Shawn took it to the bottom left for the win, sweeping the series 3-0 to advance to the third round.
Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Wild Thing v. Snowball. The silver cue's last series of the day comes in Accuracy. Stonebridge's Wild Thing wasn't perfect in game 1, but he was miles ahead of Swordpoint's Snowball, who scratched early and never really found a groove. Wild Thing won 2-6 for the easy 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Wild Thing kept it close with the Blades' Snowball, eventually wrestling the lead away from her late in game 2. Despite some ugly attempts on the last ball, Wild Thing got the win 4-5 on his third try to secure the series at 2-0. Wild Thing fell apart late in game 3, taking a scratch that put him behind in Snowball's 3-4 win. Wild Thing still claimed the series at 2-1, and he'll host another series in the third round.

Southern's Panda had a four-ball run early in game 1, but he was lucky Tysini's Leandra missed on the 7 as Panda put it in the bottom left on his second for the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Monarchs' Panda wouldn't be so lucky in game 2, as his early three-ball run went to waste after missed contact. The Hummingbirds' Leandra rattled off a series-tying four-ball run-out to get the win. Game 3 was a choppier battle between the players, which saw Panda scuff his shot for the 7 at the end. Leandra deposited it cleanly for the win to take the series at 2-1. Leandra will be the visitor in her third-round series.
FedEx Arena, Eastside: Graham v. Blizzard. The red cue goes again in 7-ball between these veterans. Eastside's Graham hammered a pair of shots in late in game 1, but he rattled the 7 out of the top right. Harrison's Blizzard knocked it in at the top left for the win instead, going up 1-0 in the series. The Specters' Blizzard went empty on the game 2 break, but the Sharks' Graham also missed on his first shot. Blizzard then ran out seven straight shots for the win, sealing the series at 2-0 with a dominant effort. Blizzard again took a majority of the possession for game 3, but it didn't work out when she missed the 7. Graham tapped it to the top right to avoid the sweep in the 2-1 series that sends Blizzard to round three as a visiting player.

Modernistic's Sydney C. confidently began with a four-ball run in game 1, but her missed contact on the 4 allowed Victoria's Spice to rally for a three-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead from ball-in-hand. The Spurs' Spice pushed the pace of game 2 for much of the battle, but she missed on the 6 at the bottom left. The Union's Sydney C. took it and the 7 at the bottom side to get the win, tying the series at 1. Sydney C. would not be denied in game 3, capitalizing on a poor shot on the 4 by Spice to convert the 4-7 combination at the top left for the win. The comeback sent Sydney C. to the third round on a 2-1 series win.
Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Cowzart v. Shawn. The host begins a personal doubleheader in 8-ball with the red cue. Midland's Shawn began game 1 with a vicious five-ball run, a lead that was enough to hold off Pacific's Cowzart in the end. Shawn's early win gave him a 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Shawn had a less energetic appearance in game 2, struggling to get the offense going. The Volcanoes' Cowzart kept it close before making a pair at the end to snag the win, which tied the series at 1. Game 3 was up for grabs throughout as neither player took control. At the very end, Shawn erased an earlier scratch with a pair of shots to emerge victorious in the 2-1 series. Shawn will play in the third round.
T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Mitchell v. Cowzart. Completing the personal doubleheader and the day, we have 7-ball with the blue cue. Pacific's Cowzart got the win in game 1, a back-and-forth battle that Victoria's Mitchell seemed to lack much control in. Cowzart's win puts him ahead 1-0 in the series. The Volcanoes' Cowzart had a brief moment of happiness in game 2 as the 7 fell in the top side, only to be followed by the cue in short order. The Spurs' Mitchell took the gifted win to tie the series at 1 game apiece. Mitchell followed it up with a hard-fought battle in game 3 to get the win, topping Cowzart 2-1 in the series in the process. Mitchell will continue to the third round.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: Jack v. Cubby. Club-mates meet in 15-ball with the silver cue. After a slow start, Eastside's Cubby broke out with a four-ball run. It wouldn't be enough, as Web City's Jack came back with a five-ball run-out for the game 1 win and 1-0 series lead. Game 2 didn't have the fast-paced finish, instead seeing the two players chip in one or two shots back-and-forth. The Spiders' Jack got the last ball, sinking the 15 when the Sharks' Cubby missed it, which gave Jack the series at 2-0. Another shaky performance early in game 3 was quickly forgotten when Jack confirmed his 3-0 series sweep over Cubby with a four-ball run-out. Jack moves on to the third round.
Toyota Arena, Freedom: Roxy v. Mitchell. The blue cue cycles back in for this 8-ball series. Freedom's Roxy slowly but surely developed her offense throughout game 1, doing enough defensively to hold off Victoria's Mitchell for the win. Roxy leads the series 1-0. The Cascades' Roxy couldn't repeat the effort in game 2, keeping things close at first but falling off the board as the Spurs' Mitchell made a three-ball run-out for the comeback win. Mitchell tied the series at 1. In game 3, Mitchell had a late scratch to slow him down, but Roxy wasn't able to execute a final run, and Mitchell banked the 3 to the bottom side before potting the 8 at the top side for the win. Mitchell took the series 2-1 and will play in round three.

Stonebridge's Wild Thing wasn't perfect in game 1, but he was miles ahead of Swordpoint's Snowball, who scratched early and never really found a groove. Wild Thing won 2-6 for the easy 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Wild Thing kept it close with the Blades' Snowball, eventually wrestling the lead away from her late in game 2. Despite some ugly attempts on the last ball, Wild Thing got the win 4-5 on his third try to secure the series at 2-0. Wild Thing fell apart late in game 3, taking a scratch that put him behind in Snowball's 3-4 win. Wild Thing still claimed the series at 2-1, and he'll host another series in the third round.
Cisco Arena, Tysini: Leandra v. Panda. Captains tangle in 7-ball with the red cue. Southern's Panda had a four-ball run early in game 1, but he was lucky Tysini's Leandra missed on the 7 as Panda put it in the bottom left on his second for the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Monarchs' Panda wouldn't be so lucky in game 2, as his early three-ball run went to waste after missed contact. The Hummingbirds' Leandra rattled off a series-tying four-ball run-out to get the win. Game 3 was a choppier battle between the players, which saw Panda scuff his shot for the 7 at the end. Leandra deposited it cleanly for the win to take the series at 2-1. Leandra will be the visitor in her third-round series.

Eastside's Graham hammered a pair of shots in late in game 1, but he rattled the 7 out of the top right. Harrison's Blizzard knocked it in at the top left for the win instead, going up 1-0 in the series. The Specters' Blizzard went empty on the game 2 break, but the Sharks' Graham also missed on his first shot. Blizzard then ran out seven straight shots for the win, sealing the series at 2-0 with a dominant effort. The Predators' Shawn had a less energetic appearance in game 2, struggling to get the offense going. The Volcanoes' Cowzart kept it close before making a pair at the end to snag the win, which tied the series at 1. Game 3 was up for grabs throughout as neither player took control. At the very end, Shawn erased an earlier scratch with a pair of shots to emerge victorious in the 2-1 series. Shawn will play in the third round.

The Volcanoes' Cowzart had a brief moment of happiness in game 2 as the 7 fell in the top side, only to be followed by the cue in short order. The Spurs' Mitchell took the gifted win to tie the series at 1 game apiece. Mitchell followed it up with a hard-fought battle in game 3 to get the win, topping Cowzart 2-1 in the series in the process. Mitchell will continue to the third round.

Tournament 2019 - Round 1 Day 54
The first round is scheduled to end today. The first of the final 14 series is...
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Panda v. Taylor S. The blue cue closes out its obligations in 12-ball with the day's opening series. Commerce's Taylor S. got off to a fantastic start in game 1, especially after Southern's Panda had an unfortunate scratch. Taylor S. went unchallenged as she made a late pair for the win to take a 1-0 series lead. Both players had four-ball runs in game 2, with the Tradewinds' Taylor S. doing hers from the break. The Monarchs' Panda followed up, and then each made another ball on their next turns. Panda missed contact with his last ball, allowing Taylor S. to pot her last ball on a cross-table shot to the bottom left for the win that sealed the series at 2-0. Taylor S. gave away a wild-card ball on the game 3 break, leading to a a fairly easy win for Panda this time. Taylor S. took the series 2-1 and will visit Kitty of the Midland Predators in the second round. Both players advanced four bids.
Kraft Forum, Royal: Nightfur v. Mario. A Castle Derby match occurs in 10-ball with the red cue. Royal's Nightfur allowed Queens' Mario to keep possession after his uncalled 5-10-9 combination to the top right. The plan worked, as Nightfur took the win with four balls over her last two turns to go up 1-0 in the series. The Crowns' Nightfur had an empty break in game 2, but after the Flames' Mario tried and failed to cut the 1 to the bottom side, Nightfur popped off with a five-ball run-out. Her winning shot was a deflection off the 4 that bumped the 6 to the top right and sent the 10 to the bottom side for the 2-0 series lead. Nightfur didn't dominate at any stage of game 3, but Mario didn't offer much of a challenge either. Nightfur's simple three-ball run-out secured the 3-0 series sweep that sets her up to host Noelle of the Central Warriors in round two. Nightfur took five bids forward, while Mario has only three advancing.

The Specters' Lexi had to make a comeback in game 2 as the Eagles' Puff III emerged with the early lead. Lexi started on a three-ball run in game 3, which Puff III answered with a four-ball run of her own. Lexi then regained the lead and held it for an 8-6 win to sweep the series 3-0. Lexi will visit Swordpoint Blades captain Snowball in the second round with one of her five advancing bids, while Puff III only moved two bids forward.
BMW RockDome, Westside: Goatee v. Dusty. The red cue is finishing up 9-ball in this series between veterans. Westside's Goatee had a majority of the offense in game 1, but her late miss on the 9 allowed Golden's Dusty to poach the win for a 1-0 lead in the series. The Rockers' Goatee had a majority of the possession again in game 2, but she made it count this time, closing out on a four-ball run-out for the win. This tied the series at 1 game apiece versus the Pilots' Dusty. Goatee scratched on the break and left the 9 near the top right to start game 3. Dusty enjoyed the ball-in-hand, winning with a three-game run-out capped by a deflection off the 3 to tap the 9 down. Dusty won the series 2-1 and will face Steven of the Atlantic Pirates in the second round. Dusty is running eight bids into the next round, while Goatee has only two.
Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Puff II v. Jennifer. The silver cue gets in on the action with its 13-ball finale for the round. McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Steven v. Bryant. The beginning of a marathon afternoon of silver-cue 15-ball begins with these club-mates. Atlantic's Steven featured an early four-ball run in game 1, while Maplewood's Bryant didn't find much success with runs. Steven would go to win after making three of the last four balls, taking a 1-0 series lead in the process. The Pirates' Steven failed to lock it down in game 2 after a positive start. As such, the Lumberjacks' Bryant was able to corral the 15 for a win to tie the series at 1. Game 3 started with mixed results for both players, but it was Bryant who broke through on a five-ball run-out for the win. Bryant took the series 2-1 and will visit the Todavía Stills' Bells in the second round. Bryant has six advancing bids, while Steven takes five forward.

The Waves' Josie harnessed her desperation effectively in game 2, posting a seven-ball run on her first turn. The Predators' Kitty answered on a four-ball run, but Josie collected the 8 on the next turn for a win to tie the series at 1. Game 3 was a more balanced battle between the players, which saw Josie get her edge late on a three-ball run-out to complete the comeback in a 2-1 series win. Josie will host the Golden Pilots' Sparkles in round two. Josie moved three bids to the next round while Kitty has five.

Cowzart goes on to face Puff III of the Everton Eagles in the second round. Cowzart advanced seven bids while Oreo moved on with four.

Golden's Sparkles didn't deliver a very good break to start game 1, leading to some stagnant offense. When it was all said and done, Todavía's Easter broke through for the win to take a 1-0 series lead. The Pilots' Sparkles ended up on the right side of a back-and-forth finish to game 2, making a double-pot while scratching, then adding a pair after the Stills' Easter saw her three-ball run come up short on the 14. Sparkles' win tied the series at 1. Sparkles didn't have enough in the tank in game 3, as Easter rallied at the end on a four-ball run-out to claim the win. Maplewood's Summer decided game 1 didn't need to go the distance, deflecting a shot hard off the 7 to pound the 15 to the top right for the 1-0 series lead over Viewpoint Sound's Dani. The Meteors' Dani made a strong attack late in game 2 with a four-ball run, and added more on her next turn, but it didn't work out. The Lumberjacks' Summer held on for the win to clinch the series at 2-0 after converting three of the last four balls. Dani took a bit of a cheap win in game 3 to avoid the sweep, shooting the 3-15 combination to the bottom right after Summer made illegal contact. Summer still won the series 2-1, and she will host the Queens Flames' Hannah in the second round. Both players advance six bids to the next round.
Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Solaris v. Cheddar. Urban rivals and club-mates meet in the next 15-ball set. Commerce's Solaris was a bit lucky to win game 1, struggling throughout alongside North Modernistic's Cheddar. Midland's Americus and Terrace City's Jennifer kept it even early in game 1, and then each player had a three-ball run near the end. In game 2, the Knights' Quincy tried to control play with a three-ball run, but the Hummingbirds' Paps sneaked a 4-15 combination to the top right to get the win, tying the series at 1. Game 3 went down to the wire, and it was a back-and-forth battle, but it just flipped to Quincy as he shelved the 15 at the bottom left for the 2-1 win over Paps. Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Sparkles v. Easter. The 15-ball marathon continues between these veterans. Golden's Sparkles didn't deliver a very good break to start game 1, leading to some stagnant offense. When it was all said and done, Todavía's Easter broke through for the win to take a 1-0 series lead. The Pilots' Sparkles ended up on the right side of a back-and-forth finish to game 2, making a double-pot while scratching, then adding a pair after the Stills' Easter saw her three-ball run come up short on the 14. Sparkles' win tied the series at 1. Sparkles didn't have enough in the tank in game 3, as Easter rallied at the end on a four-ball run-out to claim the win. Easter took the series 2-1, and she will visit the Capital City Sharpshooters' Sprinkles in round two. Each played advanced five bids to the next round.
UPS Hall, Maplewood: Summer v. Dani. The third of five straight 15-ball series is here. Maplewood's Summer decided game 1 didn't need to go the distance, deflecting a shot hard off the 7 to pound the 15 to the top right for the 1-0 series lead over Viewpoint Sound's Dani. The Meteors' Dani made a strong attack late in game 2 with a four-ball run, and added more on her next turn, but it didn't work out. The Lumberjacks' Summer held on for the win to clinch the series at 2-0 after converting three of the last four balls. Dani took a bit of a cheap win in game 3 to avoid the sweep, shooting the 3-15 combination to the bottom right after Summer made illegal contact. Summer still won the series 2-1, and she will host the Queens Flames' Hannah in the second round. Both players advance six bids to the next round.
Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Solaris v. Cheddar. Urban rivals and club-mates meet in the next 15-ball set. Commerce's Solaris was a bit lucky to win game 1, struggling throughout alongside North Modernistic's Cheddar. It was Cheddar's late miss on the 15 that allowed Solaris the winning tap-in to go ahead 1-0 in the series. The Nighthawks' Cheddar opened things up with a five-ball run in game 2, but the Tradewinds' Solaris shot right back on a three-ball run. Solaris found his second wind just in time with a five-ball run-out to secure the series at 2-0. Cheddar again found a five-ball run in game 3, but it was too early to affect the outcome. Solaris roared back with six balls over his last two turns to get the win, claiming a 3-0 series sweep. Solaris will play host to the Boston Swifts superstar Patches in the second round. Solaris moves on with five bids while Cheddar takes four.
HP Field Events Center, Midland: Americus v. Jennifer. The final series of the first round is this 15-ball match. Midland's Americus and Terrace City's Jennifer kept it even early in game 1, and then each player had a three-ball run near the end. Jennifer's run ended in a scratch, allowing Americus to collect the 15 from ball-in-hand for the 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Americus didn't do anything to control game 2, and this allowed the Knights' Jennifer to redeem herself with a four-ball run-out. Jennifer's win tied the series at 1 heading into the last game of the round. Jennifer finished off game 3 early with a 4-15 combination to the top right, stunning Americus as Jennifer won the series 2-1. Jennifer will visit Commerce Tradewinds veteran Niki in the second round, giving her three advancing bids compared to Americus' four.

Tournament 2019 - Round 1 Day 53
We're onto the second-to-last day in the first round. Today's action begins with...
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Chris v. Rosalina. The blue cue leads off today with Rotation. Capital City's Chris saw a couple of untimely scratches in game 1, hampering his ability to keep up. Whitewater's Rosalina made a three-ball run late to retake the lead and eventually she won 8-6 in the back-and-forth game. Rosalina is up 1-0 in the series. The Sharpshooters' Chris bounced back well in game 2, getting a little lucky early on and picking up steam later with a three-ball run-out for the 8-3 win. This tied the series at 1 against the Shores' Rosalina. Another back-and-forth battle broke out in game 3, and it looked much like the opening game with Chris leading early only for Rosalina to storm back for the 8-6 win. Rosalina took the series 2-1 and will face Mams of the Southern Monarchs in the second round. Both players advanced five bids to the next round.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: Waluigi v. Stealth. The blue cue is back for more Rotation now. A close start in game 1 turned into a blowout after Swordpoint's Stealth scratched. Web City's Waluigi cranked a five-ball run-out for the 8-4 win from that point, taking an early 1-0 series lead. Save for a big finishing run, game 2 looked very similar to game 1. The Spiders' Waluigi dueled with the Blades' Stealth at the start, but Waluigi eventually broke away and picked up the 8-4 win again to clinch the series at 2-0. Waluigi made it a sweep in game 3, again making a late charge but this time seeing Stealth rally on a three-ball run to tie the game. Stealth missed the 15 and Waluigi converted it at the bottom right for an 8-7 win and 3-0 series sweep. Waluigi will host Brownie of the Royal Crowns in the second round. Stealth will have six bids advancing.
IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Peach v. Jennifer. The silver cue comes on for an Urban Derby in 8-ball. North Modernistic's Peach had a three-ball run from the break after making one of each suit. Terrace City's Jennifer kept herself within striking distance but never got ahead as Peach finished with a bank on the 8 to the top side. Peach leads the series 1-0. The Knights' Jennifer made her move in game 2, a four-ball run to get onto the 8. Juno's tricky finish put her up 1-0 in the series. Despite a solid attack in game 2, the Rockers' Midnight again came up empty outside of an early three-ball run. The Wolves' Juno closed it out with a five-ball run-out for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Midnight had a little less offense in game 3, mostly due to Juno's pressure. Juno closed the game victorious again with a 5-10 combination to the bottom right to earn the 3-0 series sweep. Juno is set to visit an Eastern Hills rival in the Freedom Cascades' Stinky in round two. Both players have four advancing bids.

Everton's Cleo began with a three-ball run in game 1, and while Pearl's Beth kept in close pursuit, Cleo escaped with the 8-7 win at the end. Cleo leads the series 1-0. Game 2 saw the Surfers' Beth start with the lead before the Eagles' Cleo roared ahead with a five-ball run. Beth then pushed a three-ball run to tie the game, but scratches on consecutive turns allowed Cleo to reply, and the host won 8-7 to secure the series at 2-0. Cleo didn't save it for late in game 3, battling with Beth initially before breaking free on a four-ball run-out to win 8-3. The Pilots' Dusty again started well in game 2, and she enjoyed a four-ball run at one point, but her coast to the finish was cut off by the Crowns' Jake, who completed the comeback with a pair of shots for the 8-7 win. Jake's push tied the series at 1. Dusty thought she was in the clear in game 3 with an early four-ball run, but Jake stormed back on a seven-ball run to get on the brink of victory. Jake hesitated a bit but closed the door at 8-6 for the win and 2-1 series win. The Spiders' Waluigi did better to limit the damage in game 2, but the Monarchs' Mams still had plenty of multi-ball turns. Mams posted a three-ball run at one point, and made the final pair after Waluigi missed a kick on the 14 to the bottom side. Mams' win sealed the series in her favor at 2-0. Mams didn't suffer much in game 3, a balanced battle with Waluigi that eventually went in his favor when he made the last two balls. Isabella channeled the nervous energy well with a three-ball run-out capped by a two-rail kick on the 10 to the top right for the win and 1-0 series lead. Game 2 went smoothly on both sides, with the Pirates' Isabella scratching to end a four-ball run that had her looking for more. The Blades' Snowball made a pair from there but missed the 10 at the top right, only to convert it on the second as Isabella missed it too. Snowball's win tied the series at 1. Isabella had some offense in game 3, but a deflected shot off the 3 from Snowball tapped the 10 to the top right for the win. Snowball's 2-1 series win sets her up to visit Southwestern rival captain Chris of the Capital City Sharpshooters in the second round. Snowball advanced five bids to the next round, while Isabella will take four.
Tomorrow, we hopefully will put the first round in the books. The weekend will feature heavy administrative work and potentially the start of the Hutton Cup, which has been delayed in post-regular-season administrative work.

We're inching closer to the end of the round, with today's action starting in...
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Lorde v. Dreamy. The blue cue leads off today in Accuracy. A close game 1 ended in a scratch by Swordpoint's Dreamy that allowed Capital City's Lorde to take the 1-2 win. Lorde leads the series 1-0 after the strong performance. Both players slipped up a bit more in a tricky start to game 2, but the Blades' Dreamy was inconsistent throughout. The Sharpshooters' Lorde missed once early and once late for the 2-4 win to secure the series at 2-0. Lorde and Dreamy struggled in game 3, although Lorde did triple-pot the 3 to the bottom side, 15 to the bottom right and 5 to the top right to force overtime. Here, Dreamy got her lone win by a 4-5 score to make it a 2-1 series win for Lorde, who will host Kodiak of the Modernistic Union in the second round. Lorde advanced three bids while Dreamy moves four to the next round.

The Shores' Katharine had a less prolific start to game 2, allowing the Crowns' Brownie to make more of an impact on offense this time. Tournament 2019 - Round 1 Day 51
We're back for another day of games. Today's action leads off with...
Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Acorn v. Kodiak. The blue cue will get the first look today, playing 8-ball. Lighton's Acorn made one of each on the break and followed up with a five-ball run soon after. Modernistic's Kodiak tried to keep it close, but Acorn sailed to the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Prestige's Acorn had a slower performance in game 2, but it was strong enough to hold off the Union's Kodiak, who got onto the 8 first but missed it twice. Acorn put the 8 away at the bottom right for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Kodiak had an easy time in game 3, attacking thoroughly throughout the game. Acorn made a couple of shots but no runs, and Kodiak easily won. Acorn settled for a 2-1 series win to set him against Jake of the Royal Crowns in the second round. Acorn carries six bids forward while Kodiak rolls with four.
T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Yekaterina v. Whiskers. A top-notch battle in 15-ball with the silver cue is next. Victoria's Yekaterina had a five-ball run on the opening turn and a four-ball run before missing contact with the 12. Maplewood's Whiskers used the ball-in-hand to create a four-ball run-out for the win in a quick game 1. Whiskers leads the series 1-0. The Lumberjacks' Whiskers had the pace of play in game 2, which went much slower than the previous one. The Spurs' Yekaterina had trouble getting a grip on the offense, allowing Whiskers to attack at will. Whiskers ended on a four-ball run-out again, clinching the series at 2-0 with this win. Yekaterina starred in game 3 with a wild five-ball run and plenty of other offense, but Whiskers made the last two balls to snag the win for a 3-0 series sweep. Whiskers will play in the second round.
Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Valencia v. Rainmane. Aggressive players meet in Rotation, also using the silver cue. Golden's Valencia had a ball on the break, but Midland's Rainmane made four balls over two turns before a scratch to take the lead. Valencia grabbed a pair and then a five-ball run after the scratch to lock up an 8-4 win in game 1 for the 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Rainmane wouldn't go quietly, battling with the Pilots' Valencia early in game 2. Rainmane broke free on a four-ball run-out from the middle of the game, winning 8-4 to tie the series at 1. Rainmane was strong early in a scratch-filled game 3, but Valencia pulled ahead with a four-ball run. Valencia eventually shut the door with an 8-6 win to take the series 2-1. Valencia will host Modernistic Union rookie Sydney C. in the second round.
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Sprinkles v. Rainmane. After the break, the visitor completes a road doubleheader in 13-ball with the red cue. Capital City's Sprinkles was a bit sharper in game 1 than Midland's Rainmane, who made a ball at an occupied pocket early on. Rainmane did have a four-ball run to make it close, but Sprinkles secured the win two turns later for a 1-0 series lead. The Sharpshooters' Sprinkles started off well in game 2, but the Predators' Rainmane aggressively pushed herself into position at the top side near the end. Rainmane got her way with a pair of shots for the win, tying the series at 1. Rainmane had one of each on the break in game 3 and selected solids. Sprinkles did well to keep it close, but she gave away a ball late and Rainmane cruised to the win for a 2-1 series win. Rainmane will visit Queens Flames captain Crystal in round two with one of her three advancing bids.
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Pauline v. Jason N. The blue cue cycles back for 12-ball. Capital City's Pauline delivered a fantastic game 1, giving Atlantic's Jason N. a wild-card ball but never letting him to the table in her six-ball run-out. Pauline leads the series 1-0. The Sharpshooters' Pauline made a pair on the break in game 2, but she struggled to line up anything at the bottom side. The Pirates' Jason N. wasn't crisp, but he kicked his last ball to the top side smoothly to get the win, tying the series at 1. Pauline had wild-card balls at the start and the end of game 3 despite a scratch in the middle, but Jason N. kept her limited to long shots from bad angles. Eventually, Jason N. put his last ball in the bottom right for the win to take the series 2-1. Jason N. will visit Avril of the Web City Spiders in the second round, one of his five bids compared to six advancing bids for Pauline.
Sony Center, Queens: Crystal v. Violetta. A battle of Flames teammates occurs in Rotation with the silver cue. Violetta made it look easy in game 1, cranking out a six-ball run on her first turn. Crystal never sank a ball as Violetta won 8-0 two turns later for the 1-0 series lead. In game 2, Crystal was much more competitive, keeping things close but still making too many errors. Violetta finally put it away with a decoy shot on the 12 to make the 14 at the top left and a 12-13-15 kick combination to the bottom side for the 8-5 win. Violetta secured the series at 2-0 with the win. Violetta needed to save her offense for a deep run in game 3, as she trailed Crystal late but found a four-ball run-out for the 8-6 win instead. Violetta swept the series 3-0 and will remain as the visitor in her own venue when she faces the Flames' Briana in the second round. Crystal will only have three bids going forward.
BMW RockDome, Westside: Slinks v. Valencia. The blue cue is back to wrap up its 8-ball for the round in this series. Westside's Slinks struck on the break and pushed a four-ball run late in game 1, but she missed the 8 twice. Golden's Valencia created a three-ball run-out to grab the comeback win for a 1-0 series lead. The Rockers' Slinks made an early five-ball run in game 2, but again couldn't quite find a finishing touch. The Pilots' Valencia had a five-ball run of her own to get onto the 8 before she converted it at the bottom right for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Slinks had some moments on offense yet again, but she wasted her chances to go on a run. Valencia kept a steady hand on the cue to earn the 3-0 series sweep with this win, and she'll visit Briana of the Queens Flames in the second round. Valencia moved eight bids forward while Slinks advanced four of her own.
Google Hall, Modernistic: Daisy v. Yekaterina. The blue cue continues with Accuracy in this series. Modernistic's Daisy held a lead after a rough start, and it stood when Victoria's Yekaterina scratched on her final shot, losing the chance to force overtime. Daisy won 2-4 and took a 1-0 series lead. The Union's Daisy improved even more in game 2, never missing a shot as she won 0-3 over the Spurs' Yekaterina, who just wasn't as sharp. Daisy secured the series at 2-0 with that win. Both players missed early in game 3, but it was only Yekaterina who flubbed a shot at the end, allowing Daisy to take the 1-2 win for the 3-0 series sweep. Daisy's dominant outing sends her to a round two series versus Twinkie III of the Urban rival Whitewater Shores. Daisy has four advancing bids while Yekaterina's fourth-year slump sees her with only three going forward.

The Shores' Rosalina caused that with defense, and then ignited a three-ball run-out for the win with a little luck on her side. Rosalina tied the series at 1 with the victory. Rosalina still played defense in game 3, but a couple of late scratches turned the tide in favor of Shiny, who slowly but surely chipped her way to the win. Shiny took the series 2-1 and will host Bryant of the Maplewood Lumberjacks in the second round. Shiny will have six bids going forward.
Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Puff II v. Ruby. Two talented veterans battle in 15-ball with the blue cue. Predictably, game 1 was fairly back-and-forth, with Boston's Puff II getting a little more possession and striking late for the win and 1-0 series lead over Todavía's Ruby. The Stills' Ruby had a good case for game 2, making a pair of three-ball runs early and continuing to attack at the end, but she missed on the 15. The Swifts' Puff II made no such mistake, taking the win to clinch the series at 2-0 despite having a weaker effort in the game. Ruby finally cashed in on all the offense, winning game 3 with a three-ball run-out after a four-ball run and a three-ball run earlier in the game that also saw Puff II make four straight. Puff II settled for the 2-1 series win that pits her against Pearl Surfers veteran Beth in the second round. Ruby only advanced three bids to the next round.
Audi Hall, Terrace City: Quincy v. Bandit. The red cue wraps up its Rotation obligations for round one. Terrace City's Quincy excelled early in game 1, but he failed to keep it up later. Swordpoint's Bandit tied the game, and then rattled off a four-ball run-out with a little luck for the 8-5 win to earn the 1-0 lead in the series. The Knights' Quincy was more aggressive in game 2, leading off with a spinning kick on the 1 to the top side that became a double-pot when the 13 fell at the top right. He added a two-rail kick on the 5 deflected to the top side later in his stunning 8-0 win over the Blades' Bandit to tie the series at 1. Game 3 was a close battle at the start, but a little luck and some crafty deflections helped Bandit assemble a five-ball run-out for the 8-3 win. Bandit won the series 2-1 and will visit Gradley of the Boston Swifts in the second round with one of his five advancing bids.
HP Field Events Center, Midland: Shawn v. Peach. A captains' battle is set for 12-ball with the blue cue. Midland's Shawn got down to his last ball in game 1, and even had it set up nicely at the top left before North Modernistic's Peach rumbled her way to a five-ball run-out for the win. Peach's deep comeback gave her a 1-0 series lead. The Nighthawks' Peach started game 2 on a three-ball run, which the Predators' Shawn answered fairly easily. Peach then made a three-ball run-out, taking the sides first and kicking the 9 to the top left with a deflection off the 3 for the winning shot. Peach's brilliant play secured the series in her favor at 2-0. Peach gave away a wild-card ball in game 3 and also had two scratches, giving Shawn an easier path to his lone win of the series. Peach still looked strong in a 2-1 series win that allows her to visit Harrison Specters star Sydney S. in round two. Shawn still has six bids advancing.
Toyota Arena, Freedom: Roxy v. Luigi. The red cue is back in action now with 10-ball on the slate. North Modernistic's Luigi enjoyed a lot of offense at the end of game 1, working a five-ball run-out for the win after Freedom's Roxy made most of the early shots. Luigi leads the series 1-0. The Cascades' Roxy hung around for most of game 2, allowing the Nighthawks' Luigi to do a little work on offense. Luigi faded late, which led to Roxy potting a three-ball run-out for the win that tied the series at 1 game apiece. Roxy started well on a three-ball run, but game 3 devolved into a cagey affair that saw Luigi pick up the final pair of shots for the win. Luigi won the series 2-1 and will face Jason V. of the Oceanside Waves in the second round. Luigi has seven advancing bids, while Roxy takes five.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: Ted v. Tigerette. The silver cue closes out the day in 13-ball. Web City's Ted had three stripes and a solid on the game 1 break, but he tied his own noose by leaving a solid in a defensive position. Commerce's Tigerette made the comeback with a four-ball run-out for the win, going ahead 1-0 in the series. The Tradewinds' Tigerette remained dangerous in game 2, attacking thoroughly. She eased up at the end as the Spiders' Ted pushed, but Tigerette had no trouble earning the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Tigerette had a lot of offense early in game 3, but she couldn't align herself on her last ball and didn't really care at the end. Ted made the 8 from ball-in-hand for his lone win in Tigerette's 2-1 series win. Tigerette will play Mario of the Queens Flames in the second round. Ted will have three bids in the next round.
