Tournament X - First Round Day 3

We're ready to go with a new day of pool, beginning with...

Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Lorde v. Sarah. Southwestern rivals start the day in 7-ball with the red cue. Capital City's Lorde drained a five-ball run from the game 1 break, but Tysini's Sarah made the final pair for the win and 1-0 series lead. A slower game 2 also saw the Hummingbirds' Sarah win, as she made a three-ball run and later capitalized on missed contact by the Sharpshooters' Lorde. Sarah's victory sealed the series at 2-0. Sarah had a four-ball run to start game 3, but she couldn't get the finish this time, while Lorde took the last three balls over two turns. Sarah settled for a 2-1 series win to put her in round two.

Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Max v. Mario. The second series of the day is in Accuracy with the purple cue. Queens' Mario had a late arrival to game 1, failing to get on track before it was too late. Golden's Max had an easy route to the 1-3 win for a 1-0 series lead. The Pilots' Max scratched on the break and made quite the mess at the start of game 2, allowing the Flames' Mario to reverse the score from before in his own 1-3 win. The series is tied at 1. Game 3 started off pretty evenly, but a couple of slips from Mario would prove costly to the visitor. Max only missed on the last ball in his 1-2 win that gave him a 2-1 series win to take into the second round.

McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Isabella v. Shiny. The blue cue is back from its day off to play 9-ball. Atlantic's Isabella had a good four-ball run in game 1, and it paid off when she converted the 9 after Lighton's Shiny left it short at the bottom right. Isabella holds a 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Isabella led off game 2 with a four-ball run, but she faltered after that. The Prestige's Shiny would win with a deflection off the 6 to put the 9 in the top left, tying the series at 1. Shiny had a ball on the game 3 break, but her offense cooled. A battle on the 2 ensued until Isabella cut the 2-9 combination to the bottom left for the win and 2-1 series win. Isabella will have a hosting position in the second round.

T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Sage v. Kitty. Older yet less-experienced players meet in 9-ball for the purple cue's last series today. Midland's Kitty had a surprisingly easy time in game 1 with a pair of three-ball runs early and late to get the win over Victoria's Sage. Kitty leads the series 1-0. The Predators' Kitty had a little more effort required for game 2, as the Spurs' Sage put up a dangerous attack. Kitty navigated just fine, ending on a three-ball run-out for the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Kitty didn't bring her best to game 3, but it was still good enough given how inconsistent Sage was in the series. Kitty's 3-0 series sweep launches her to round two.

Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Puff II v. Ms. Kitty. The green cue takes us into the lunch break with 8-ball. Boston's Puff II had an awful break in game 1, but still managed to keep the game close with a four-ball run. Pacific's Ms. Kitty still got the win with a four-ball run-out, earning the 1-0 series lead. The Volcanoes' Ms. Kitty had a four-ball run on stripes after taking one of each on the game 2 break. The Swifts' Puff II made a late push with a three-ball run but missed on the 8, and Ms. Kitty picked up the win for a 2-0 series lead. Ms. Kitty had a scratch early in game 3, which drastically set back her offense. Puff II used a five-ball run to establish herself, and then chipped her way to the finish for her lone win. Ms. Kitty heads to the second round on a 2-1 series win.

Volkswagen Stadium Events Center, Viewpoint Sound: Dani v. Gal. The silver cue gets us restarted after the lunch break in Accuracy. Viewpoint Sound's Dani had a questionable start to game 1, but managed to stay steady enough to cause trouble for North Modernistic's Gal at the end. Dani's positional play served her well in the 2-3 comeback win for a 1-0 series lead. The Meteors' Dani again started poorly in game 2, but she received no let-off this time, as the Nighthawks' Gal was near-perfect in a 1-5 win to tie the series at 1. Dani looked to be on track for another rough start, but she kept control in game 3. Gal couldn't maintain a thin lead and missed on the last ball, allowing Dani to win 1-2 for the 2-1 series win. Dani advances to round two.

UPS Hall, Maplewood: Whiskers v. Oreo. The red cue cycles in for a 13-ball series. Maplewood's Whiskers had two overfills in game 1, slowing her just enough to compensate for Terrace City's Oreo struggling with positioning. Whiskers then had illegal contact for her last ball, setting Oreo up with ball-in-hand to pot a pair for the win and 1-0 lead in the series. The Knights' Oreo slowly but surely attacked in game 2, getting down to her last ball which was out of position. The Lumberjacks' Whiskers then unleashed a six-ball run and took the 8 on the next turn for the win, tying the series at 1 game apiece. Whiskers made one of each on the game 3 break, turning in a four-ball run on a solids. She had a scratch, but Oreo wasn't able to attack much, and Whiskers cruised to the finish on a three-ball run-out. Whiskers took the series 2-1 to get into the second round.

HP Field Events Center, Midland: Chicky Phil v. Angelica. The blue cue is back for this 10-ball series. Midland's Chicky Phil started game 1 on a four-ball run before his offense fizzled out, just in time for Lighton's Angelica to post a four-ball run-out. Angelica's win gave her a 1-0 series lead. The Prestige's Angelica had a lackluster break to start game 2. This led to a slow burn in the game, until the Predators' Chicky Phil unleashed a five-ball run-out for the win, tying the series at 1. Chicky Phil didn't have a big run in game 3, but his steady offense was timed perfectly after Angelica missed contact on the 7. Chicky Phil posted a three-ball run-out for the win, the 2-1 series win, and the ticket to the second round.

Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Puff II v. Marissa. The host is back for a second series today, using the red cue in 13-ball. Boston's Puff II used strategy in many ways in game 1, including an intentional scratch to aid her positioning and a block on the last ball for Maplewood's Marissa at the bottom right. Puff II would get the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Swifts' Puff II made a three-ball run from the game 2 break, but positioning looked to be a problem. The Lumberjacks' Marissa would erase that by illegally potting the 8 after missing her cut on the 9 toward the top right. Puff II took the free win to secure the series at 2-0. Puff II had great positioning in game 3, but a rattled Marissa turned aggressive to keep things going. The play paid off, as Marissa picked up a three-ball run-out for her lone win of the series. Puff II's 2-1 series win got her to the second round.

Nissan Hall, Infinity: Fluffina v. Bells. The red cue remains in action for this 12-ball series. Infinity's Fluffina had a good start in game 1 and a miracle kick shot on the 3 to the bottom side to demoralize Todavía's Bells. Fluffina then played patient at the top right before taking the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Torpedoes' Fluffina gave away two wild-card balls during a three-ball run from the break in game 2. The Stills' Bells had a three-ball run pretty quickly after that, but a slow finish kept Fluffina alive, and the host would have won if not for a scratch. Bells won instead, tying the series at 1. Game 3 was an all-out race, with fractured runs setting as hurdles for the players. Bells would trip up with missed contact on her last ball, allowing Fluffina to win at the bottom right for the win and 2-1 series win. Fluffina has a hosting position awaiting in the second round.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Goatee v. Sierra. The silver cue is up for 7-ball. Westside's Goatee had most of the offense in game 1, and benefited from the moments where Todavía's Sierra wasn't crisp on her shots. Goatee took the final pair of shots for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Rockers' Goatee had another good portion of offense in game 2, but she flubbed a shot on the 7 this time. The Stills' Sierra mopped it up at the bottom side for the win, pulling even in the 1-1 series. Goatee's botched shot would end up costing her double, as Sierra cranked the 2 to the bottom left and the 7 to the top right on the game 3 break for the instant win. Sierra took the series 2-1 and moves on to round two.

IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Cheddar v. Wings. Also in the Urban region, there's 10-ball with the silver cue. A slow start to game 1 turned into a three-ball run for Pearl's Wings, but he missed on the 9. North Modernistic's Cheddar finished it off with a pair of shots for the win and 1-0 lead in the series. The Nighthawks' Cheddar had another modest start in game 2, but then made five of the last six balls over two turns for the win. The Surfers' Wings had deferred possession in that stretch, clearly a mistake. Cheddar's win sealed the series at 2-0. Cheddar had a solid performance in game 3, but it wouldn't stick this time. Wings used a three-ball run-out to notch his lone win in Cheddar's 2-1 series win, which sent the host to the second round.

Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Molly v. Kirstin. A current Monarch meets a former one for 7-ball with the blue cue. Stonebridge's Kirstin flew through game 1 on a six-ball run-out after Southern's Molly was limited to one ball on the break. Kirstin owns a 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Kirstin didn't let the Monarchs' Molly see the table in game 2. Kirstin made a four-ball run-out from the break, ending with a 3-7 kick combination to the top left for the win to secure the series at 2-0. Kirstin went empty on the game 3 break, and a 2-7 combination two shots later helped Molly avoid the sweep. Kirstin still won the series 2-1 to advance to the second round.

Cisco Arena, Tysini: Sarah v. Blaze. The host's second series today is a Southwestern Derby in 15-ball with the red cue. Game 1 was incredibly slow at the start, but it was Tysini's Sarah who found the first big run. Infinity's Blaze made a three-ball run later, but Sarah took a three-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Torpedoes' Blaze probably had a majority of the offense in game 2 after a three-ball run in the middle, but his miss on the 15 at the end left him at a loss. The Hummingbirds' Sarah tapped in the winning shot, the close result enough to clinch the series for her at 2-0. Blaze simply didn't have much left on offense in game 3, while Sarah looked stronger than ever. Sarah made the last five balls over two turns for the win to complete the 3-0 series sweep en route to the second round.

AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Josie v. Megan. A pair of Oceanside Waves teammates meet in 8-ball with the red cue. Megan had a good attack with a five-ball run in game 1, but her late fade bought time for Josie to make a comeback. Josie potted five balls on her last two turns to win the game, going up 1-0 in the series. In game 2, both players were a little more crisp on offense, but Josie remained a step ahead of Megan and again picked up the win. Josie clinched the series at 2-0. Megan had a five-ball run in game 3, but her cut attempt on the 10 ended up sinking the 8 prematurely. The gifted win gave Josie a 3-0 series sweep to propel her to the second round.

UPS Hall, Maplewood: Vladimir v. Vincent. Finally, best friends and Northeastern rivals collide in 12-ball with the green cue to end the day. Maplewood's Vladimir had an alright start to game 1, but his lack of late positioning, combined with great play from Everton's Vincent, tipped the game to the visitor. Vincent holds a 1-0 series lead. The Eagles' Vincent cranked a five-ball run early on in game 2, but it didn't hold up as he couldn't corral his last ball. The Lumberjacks' Vladimir rallied with a pair and then a four-ball run-out on consecutive turns for the win to tie the series at 1. Vladimir surrendered a wild-card ball on the game 3 break, but he kept things close despite the disadvantage. Vincent made his last ball to the bottom side just in the nick of time to get the win and 2-1 series win that puts him through to the second round.

Tournament X - First Round Day 2

The second day of First Round action is here, beginning with...

Cisco Arena, Tysini: Sugar v. Salmo. The purple cue gets first dibs with a 9-ball series. Tysini's Sugar made an impressive start in game 1, sinking the 3 at the top side and the 9 at the bottom left for the win and 1-0 series lead before Diamond's Salmo ever got a shot. The Hummingbirds' Sugar scratched on the game 2 break and looked much less confident. The Gems' Salmo managed a four-ball run, but he butchered a shot on the 7. Sugar struck with a deflection off the 7 to drive the 9 to the top left for the win that sealed the series at 2-0. Sugar had another slow start in game 3, but when Salmo wasn't better, Sugar potted a seven-ball run-out to complete the 3-0 series sweep. She'll enjoy the comforts of home again in the second round.

Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Twinkie I v. Jake. The purple cue remains in action for Accuracy. Pacific's Twinkie I couldn't hang onto the perfect standard set by Royal's Jake in game 1, fading toward the end. Jake closed out a 0-3 win to go up 1-0 in the series. Game 2 remained close up to the end, but the Volcanoes' Twinkie I once again started to fade. The Crowns' Jake escaped some early danger and was rewarded with the 1-4 win, clinching the series at 2-0. In game 3, both players kept the score close to the finish. Jake would set up Twinkie I for the last shot to avoid a tie, allowing Twinkie I to salvage a 2-3 win. Jake's 2-1 series win got him into the second round.

Ford Forum, Pronger: Avril v. Luigi. The green cue draws in for 15-ball between Celebrity club-mates. Southridge's Luigi had a larger chunk of the offense, with a mid-game four-ball run and a late three-ball run, but he missed his bank on the 15. Pronger's Avril tapped it to the bottom left for the game 1 win and 1-0 series lead. The 15 got pushed out toward the bottom right early in game 2, making a combination nearly inevitable at some point. The Defenders' Luigi delivered on a 4-6-15 combination for the win to beat the Tridents' Avril and tie the series at 1. Game 3 was as balanced as any in the series, with Luigi leaning a little more into his offense. Avril would strike late after Luigi missed contact, as Avril converted the 8 and then added the 9-15 combination to the top left. Avril won the series 2-1 to advance to the second round.

Cisco Arena, Tysini: Sarah v. Nibbles. From the Southwest, we have 9-ball with the green cue. Tysini's Sarah had a rough time in game 1, as Web City's Nibbles worked a three-ball run and seemed to be in charge late. Sarah did manage to clean up the 9 to the bottom left for the win and 1-0 series lead despite her overall poorer play. The Spiders' Nibbles quickly got revenge after the Hummingbirds' Sarah scratched on the game 2 break. Nibbles sank the 1 to the bottom side, then made a 2-9 combination to the top left with the 4 going to the top side as a double-pot. Nibbles' win tied the series at 1. Nibbles could have been a threat if he managed a run in game 3, as Sarah started off with a number of scratches. Sarah righted her play with a four-ball run-out for the win and 2-1 series win to get into the second round.

Intel Center, Diamond: Salmo v. Wings. The host gets his second series today, using the silver cue for 8-ball. Diamond's Salmo scratched on the game 1 break, and then both players had a five-ball run. Pearl's Wings came close to sinking the 8, but Salmo battled back with a three-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Surfers' Wings didn't change his strategy, again starting with a five-ball run in game 2. He ended up with the same result as the Gems' Salmo balanced his offense to finish on a three-ball run-out again. Salmo sealed the series at 2-0. Salmo struck first in game 3 on a four-ball run, then weathered a two-pronged counterattack from Wings before converting a three-ball run-out. Salmo swept the series 3-0, cruising into the second round.

AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Rocky v. Fuchsia. After the lunch break, there's 7-ball with the purple cue. Oceanside's Rocky found a four-ball run in the middle of game 1, but it didn't sustain him. Infinity's Fuchsia finished the effort with a pair of shots for the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Torpedoes' Fuchsia had the only possession in game 2, sinking a pair on the break and closing her five-ball run-out with a 4-7 kick combination to the top left. This sealed the series in her favor at 2-0 without a chance to reply for the Waves' Rocky. A messy game 3 performance ultimately ended up in Rocky's favor after Fuchsia botched a simple shot on the 7 at the end. Fuchsia still won the series 2-1 to get into the second round.

Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Citrus v. Sugar. Southwestern rivals tangle in another 7-ball series, this time using the silver cue. Tysini's Sugar made the first pair and last three shots in game 1, a dominant showing on offense for the win and 1-0 series lead over Lighton's Citrus. The Prestige's Citrus was a little better in game 2, bouncing a three-ball run-out after a long battle on the 5 that saw the Hummingbirds' Sugar lose her touch. Citrus' win tied the series at 1. Sugar got back on track in game 3, jumping in a shot on the 1 at the bottom side. Citrus played well, but Sugar was better with a deflection off the 3 to drain the 7 at the bottom right for the win and 2-1 series win. Sugar is headed to the second round.

AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Snuggle v. Leonardo. The silver cue goes again in 12-ball. Diamond's Leonardo found a three-ball run early, but a lack of positioning gave Oceanside's Snuggle plenty of time to push ahead for the win. Snuggle leads the series 1-0. The Waves' Snuggle dealt with the top rail quickly, but had no positioning after that in game 2. A thorough defense from the Gems' Leonardo turned into an effective five-ball run-out as he surged for the win to tie the series at 1. Snuggle had some moments in game 3, including a three-ball run, but Leonardo was ultimately not punished for one of the worst breaks of the young season. Leonardo made his final pair for the win, the 2-1 series win, and the trip to the second round.

McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Steven v. Sierra. A top-ranked player gets a 10-ball series with the silver cue. Atlantic's Steven dominated game 1 with a trio of three-ball runs, suffocating the offense of Todavía's Sierra. Steven easily took a 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Steven broke the chalk before game 2, but he defied the bad omens as it was the Stills' Sierra who suffered misfortune. Sierra left the 10 at the bottom left after a tough battle, and Steven tapped it down for the win to secure the series at 2-0. Steven completed the sweep in game 3, finding a four-ball run-out after a slowdown on the 6 that Sierra couldn't solve. Steven's 3-0 series win puts him at home again in the second round.

Intel Center, Diamond: Autumn v. Spot. The Eastern Hills Derby is back on with 7-ball and the silver cue. Diamond's Autumn had all the early offense in game 1, but Pronger's Spot picked up the win with a late pair of shots. Spot holds a 1-0 series lead. The Tridents' Spot tried to be a little too creative in game 2. He almost got away with it, but the Gems' Autumn got on track with a four-ball run-out for the win, which tied the series at 1. Autumn began game 3 on a four-ball run, but couldn't sink the 4. Spot rallied with a three-ball run-out, blasting his shots down for the win to take the series 2-1. Spot will play in the second round.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Midnight v. Peach. Tough Urban rivals meet in 15-ball with the green cue. North Modernistic's Peach had more offense early on in game 1, while Westside's Midnight made a later surge. Midnight missed the 15, and Peach tapped it to the top left for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Nighthawks' Peach didn't have as much offense in game 2, which coupled with a four-ball run-out from the Rockers' Midnight to even the series at 1. Midnight's strong offense for the win marked a momentum change in the series. Peach made quick work of game 3, working a three-ball run-out with a 3-15 combination to the bottom left on her only turn. Peach won the series 2-1 and will host Queens Flames newcomer Pauline in the second round.

UPS Hall, Maplewood: Whiskers v. Snowball. The red cue gets a look now in 15-ball. Nothing elegant came from game 1, as both players struggled on offense. Maplewood's Whiskers likely had the best stretch in the middle, but Swordpoint's Snowball won with a pair at the end for a 1-0 series lead. The Blades' Snowball had virtually all of the offense in game 2, including an early five-ball run, but she couldn't bring it home. The Lumberjacks' Whiskers plucked a pair of shots at the end for the win, tying the series at 1. Game 3 returned to a low-event, back-and-forth pace. Whiskers was the lucky recipient of the final shot, taking the 15 to the bottom right after Snowball couldn't finish the effort. Whiskers won the series 2-1 and heads to the second round.

Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Ice Cream v. Dusky. The silver cue returns for this Rotation match. Boston's Ice Cream established a lead early in game 1 and never looked back, with Atlantic's Dusky struggling to even get on the board for awhile. Ice Cream won 8-3 and moved ahead 1-0 in the series. Roles reversed in game 2 after the Swifts' Ice Cream scratched on the break. The Pirates' Dusky had a confident run and finished with an 8-2 win, tying the series at 1 game apiece. Game 3 finally brought both players at their best. A back-and-forth battle, Ice Cream led early on and again later, but couldn't hold off a late run from Dusky that saw her make four balls over two turns for an 8-6 win. Dusky took the series 2-1 to move into the second round.

FedEx Arena, Eastside: Toki v. Strawberry. The host's competitive career debut comes in Rotation with the purple cue. Eastside's Toki struggled at first in game 1, allowing Victoria's Strawberry to build her lead. Toki then had a couple errors, and Strawberry ended by double-potting the 9 to the bottom side and the 12 to the bottom left for the 8-3 win and 1-0 series lead. The Sharks' Toki did better in game 2, keeping things even at first. The Spurs' Strawberry got a bit of a lead, which Toki matched on a three-ball run, but Strawberry would end up with an 8-5 win anyway. Strawberry secured the series for herself at 2-0. Toki wouldn't leave the series empty-handed, putting in a strong effort to score an 8-3 win over Strawberry in game 3. Strawberry still won the series 2-1 to get to the second round.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: Omari v. Lorde. The silver cue gets one more series today in 13-ball. Web City's Omari began game 1 on a three-ball run, but Capital City's Lorde had a four-ball run in response. Lorde maintained that narrow edge right to the finish, taking the win for a 1-0 series lead. Both players had a high pace in game 2, with the Sharpshooters' Lorde striking first, only for the Spiders' Omari to be a step ahead for most of the game. Omari would take a pair at the end for the win to tie the series at 1. Omari had Lorde on the ropes for most of game 3, but Omari's scratches slowed him down. Lorde then ripped a six-ball run-out for the game and the 2-1 series win. Lorde will advance to round two.

UPS Hall, Maplewood: Summer v. Puff I. The day ends with 13-ball as well, except with the red cue in this series. Modernistic's Puff I had good positioning but poorer execution in game 1, her sloppy play allowing Maplewood's Summer to slowly work her way to the win. Summer didn't mess around with a late three-ball run-out for the 1-0 series lead. Game 2 remained close, with the Lumberjacks' Summer losing her way on a mid-game scratch. The Union's Puff I put in the work to make the comeback, sinking the 8 to the bottom side to tie the series at 1. Game 3 could have gone either way, as Puff I got onto the 8 quickly and took her time. Summer also got onto the 8 but missed her only chance, and Puff I put it down to the top side for the 2-1 series win.

Tournament play resumes after a three-day break with the beginning of the First Round. This is expected to be a 45-day journey with every player still active. Series remain in a best-of-three format. We begin with...

Intel Center, Diamond: Shadow v. Hoot. The blue cue gets the first series today, playing in 9-ball. Both players had their troubles in game 1, with Viewpoint Sound's Hoot sinking the 9 on his third try to take a 1-0 series lead over Diamond's Shadow. The Meteors' Hoot saw his game 2 unravel with one bad shot, which was an illegal contact scratch to end his three-ball run. The Gems' Shadow took the last two balls from ball-in-hand for the win to tie the series at 1. Shadow took over to close out game 3, ripping a seven-ball run-out as he completed the series comeback. Shadow is the first of many players to punch a ticket to the second round.

Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Rudolph v. Americus. Brute Force club-mates meet in 13-ball with the blue cue. Harrison's Rudolph was already behind when he committed an overfill at the bottom right. This gave Midland's Americus plenty of room to finish off game 1 victorious for the 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Americus established herself with a four-ball run in game 2, but her offense was slow after that. The Specters' Rudolph had a three-ball run-out for the win after an overfill and a scratch, the big comeback serving to tie the series at 1. Rudolph had a lot of early offense in game 3, but he nearly committed another overfill. That misplay allowed Americus to slowly rally back, and she finished with the 8 in the bottom right for the win and 2-1 series win to get into the second round.

Kraft Forum, Royal: Sunshine v. Missy. The green cue gets a turn in 13-ball now. Game 1 was close, but Royal's Sunshine can thank his defense at the top left for throwing Capital City's Missy out of a rhythm. Missy still had a chance to win, but she missed on the 8, and Sunshine converted for the 1-0 lead in the series. The Crowns' Sunshine had five balls down in his first two turns, pressuring Missy into a scratch and an overfill over her next two turns. Sunshine was sharp at the end, getting the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Sunshine didn't have a great distribution on stripes in game 3, but he held his defense at the top left and baited Missy into giving him a freebie. Sunshine missed on the 8, and Missy would clean it up for the win, but Sunshine still took the series 2-1 as he advanced to the second round.

Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Hoppy v. Stripes. Leading into the break, there's 15-ball with the purple cue. All the early offense Archtown's Hoppy had in game 1 went to waste when she left the 15 short at the top right. Freedom's Stripes tapped it down, her late surge cashed in for a win and 1-0 series lead. The Cascades' Stripes peaked with a six-ball run in the middle of game 2, but it was all offense for the Arrows' Hoppy after that. Hoppy made the last five balls over two turns, earning the win to tie the series at 1. Game 3 saw Hoppy strike in surprising fashion, a 5-15 combination rattling into a cluster and then dropping to the bottom left for the win and 2-1 series win to send her into the second round.

GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Wario v. Autumn. After the break, the red cue steps in for Accuracy. Diamond's Autumn had a solid performance in game 1, maintaining her lead to a 2-3 win over Southridge's Wario. Autumn leads the series 1-0. The Gems' Autumn followed up with an even better game 2, keeping her play perfect to take the 0-2 win over the Defenders' Wario this time. Autumn's victory sealed the series in her favor at 2-0. Wario didn't get any better in game 3, fading late as Autumn ran away with a 2-5 win to take the series in 3-0 sweep. Autumn's early bid for a Cinderella run is into the second round.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Quincy v. Crystal. The blue cue returns to action in this 15-ball series. Terrace City's Quincy had a decent start in game 1, but it faded after Queens' Crystal had a five-ball run. Crystal managed to close it out after a sloppy finish, going up 1-0 in the series. The Flames' Crystal tried to play bold in game 2, but too many errors weighed her down. The Knights' Quincy found a four-ball run and later struck the 15 to the bottom side for the win to tie the series at 1. Crystal had a four-ball run at one point, but her offense evaporated near the end. Quincy sealed the win with a four-ball run-out, and that gave him the 2-1 series win to send him to the second round.

Google Hall, Modernistic: Kodiak v. Stinky. The silver cue makes its first round debut in Accuracy. Modernistic's Kodiak held steady despite some tough mid-game shots in game 1. Freedom's Stinky unraveled near the end, allowing Kodiak to claim the 2-5 win for a 1-0 series lead. The Union's Kodiak had three balls on the break and a later double-pot in game 2, but his misses would define the performance. The Cascades' Stinky got the win with near-perfection in a 1-3 game that tied the series at 1. Kodiak had an iffy start to game 3, but he held his ground as Stinky again fell apart completely. Kodiak's 3-7 win earned him a 2-1 series to win get him into round two.

AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Rocky v. Steven. The silver cue remains in action for 8-ball. A balanced game 1 could have gone either way, but Atlantic's Steven rattled off a three-ball run-out for the win to take a 1-0 series lead over Oceanside's Rocky. Choppy offense remained a factor in game 2, with the Pirates' Steven getting the first strike but not a lot else. The Waves' Rocky did a little better and pulled away to the win, tying the series at 1. Rocky had game 3 on the ropes, the 8 lingering at the top left, but his miss allowed Steven to rally with a four-ball run-out. Steven claimed the win, the 2-1 series win, and the trip to the second round.

Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Twinkie I v. Pauline. We're back in 15-ball, using the green cue this time. Pacific's Twinkie I seemed to have a larger portion of the slow-moving offense early in game 1, but she didn't sustain it. Queens' Pauline used a three-ball run-out to take the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Flames' Pauline had a nice break in game 2, but the Volcanoes' Twinkie I needed just two shots to convert a 2-15 combination to the bottom left for the win. The sudden strike tied the series at 1 game apiece. Pauline struck right back in game 3 after Twinkie I missed contact on the 2. Pauline made the 3-15 combination to the top side for the 2-1 series win, which sends her into the second round.

Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Sally v. Molly. The first top-seeded player is hosting this Rotation series with the red cue. Archtown's Sally had a good run in the middle of game 1, but Southern's Molly battled back and found a way to win 8-5 for the 1-0 series lead. The Monarchs' Molly started well in game 2, but her offense stagnated with a mid-game scratch. That moment sparked a four-ball run-out to all corners for the Arrows' Sally, who took the 8-4 win to tie the series at 1. Molly pulled ahead early in game 3, but she stalled out again in the mid-game. Sally composed herself and attacked to win 8-6, taking the series 2-1 as she advances to the second round.

Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Juno v. Wings. Also in Rotation is this bitter series with the silver cue. Pearl's Wings was far better in game 1, while Stonebridge's Juno floundered between poor mistakes and worse errors. Wings picked up the win by an 8-3 score, going ahead 1-0 in the series. Tempers flared in game 2, although the Wolves' Juno channeled her anger into an 8-5 win over the Surfers' Wings, who seemed completely lost by the end of the game. The series is tied at 1. Game 3 went down to the wire, as neither player really had much control of their play. Wings took the final pair of shots for an 8-6 win to move onto round two with a 2-1 series win.

Samsung Arena, Whitewater: Twinkie III v. Sydney S. A top-seed series is up in 7-ball with the blue cue. Whitewater's Twinkie III kept it simple in game 1, cranking a hard break to send the 7 to the bottom left for the win and 1-0 series lead over Harrison's Sydney S. The Shores' Twinkie III had to use a little more effort in game 2, but the Specters' Sydney S. committed illegal contact late. Twinkie III made the final pair of shots from ball-in-hand for the win to secure the series at 2-0. Twinkie III had a majority of the offense again in game 3, completing a thorough sweep of Sydney S. Twinkie III will have a spot in the second round.

FedEx Arena, Eastside: Lily v. Taylor M. More top-seeded action with an all-Eastside Sharks twist is on in 7-ball with the purple cue. Game 1 saw Lily work a three-ball run from the break and later added three more balls over her last two turns, a dominant showing for a win over Taylor M. Lily leads the series 1-0. Game 2 saw Lily continue to make a solid attack, but it wasn't enough this time. Taylor M. provided a pair of soft touches at the end to get the win, tying the series at 1. It wasn't particularly pretty in game 3, but Taylor M.'s late miss on the 6 set up Lily for the final pair of shots. Lily converted and won the series 2-1 to get into the second round.

GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Luigi v. Wario. The ultra-rare battle of players who are both teammates and club-mates commences in 9-ball with the green cue. Both players had similar efforts in game 1, but it was Luigi leaving the 9 short of the top right that allowed Wario to tap it in for the win and 1-0 series lead. Game 2 followed a similar cadence, with Luigi's late miss on the 9 coming at the bottom left this time. Wario's held his own on offense, but the easy tap-ins late have assured him of a 2-0 series lead. Luigi couldn't kick the 9 to the bottom right at the end of a slow-moving game 3, and Wario cleaned it up again to sweep the series 3-0 as he heads to the second round.

IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Peach v. Rainmane. Tough opponents clash in Accuracy with the silver cue. Midland's Rainmane had some baffling misses, and North Modernistic's Peach made sure to take advantage of them in a 2-5 win for the 1-0 series lead. The Nighthawks' Peach had an awful showing in game 2 and still nearly got away with it, as the Predators' Rainmane only had a thin 4-5 win to tie the series. Peach was plagued by scratches throughout game 3, ruining her chance to salvage a result. Rainmane was merciless, winning 1-4 and taking the series 2-1 as she advanced to the second round.

Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Leonette v. Snuggle. The day ends in Rotation with the green cue. Pacific's Leonette had a three-ball run from the break in game 1, but that was all she'd get. Oceanside's Snuggle answered with a four-ball run and won 8-3 on a three-ball run-out to take the 1-0 series lead. The Volcanoes' Leonette skated on thin ice in game 2, as the Waves' Snuggle got on the brink of victory with a four-ball run. Leonette fired back a four-ball run-out for the 8-7 win, tying the series at 1. There would be no heroics for Leonette in game 3, as Snuggle closed out with an 8-3 win to move to the second round on a 2-1 series win.

Google Hall, Modernistic: Ms. Puppy v. Taylor M. The purple cue gets things going in Rotation. Modernistic's Ms. Puppy recovered from a slow start with a six-ball run to erase a deficit. Eastside's Taylor M. tried to reply, but came up short as Ms. Puppy won 8-7 to take a 1-0 series lead. The Union's Ms. Puppy took a ball on the break in game 2, but that was it for her offense. The Sharks' Taylor M. had a good pace to win 8-1, tying the series at 1 with the statement victory. Taylor M. got to the brink of victory in game 3, but she faltered and watched Ms. Puppy make five balls over two turns for the 8-7 win. Ms. Puppy's propensity for comebacks earned her a 2-1 series win.

Toyota Arena, Freedom: Nikolai v. Dani. The blue cue comes aboard for 10-ball. Freedom's Nikolai had a good attack and a five-ball run over the middle of game 1, but Viewpoint Sound's Dani made the last pair for the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Cascades' Nikolai took an early pair in game 2, but the Meteors' Dani again showed strength with a six-ball run and a bank of the 10 to the bottom right on consecutive turns for the win, which sealed the series in her favor at 2-0. Nikolai salvaged a win with an early strike in game 2, potting the 1-10 combination to the top right on his lone shot. Dani still advanced with a 2-1 series win.

Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Jane v. Taylor M. The visitor gets her second series today, again using the purple cue in 7-ball. Eastside's Taylor M. won with two pairs of shots, including a 4-7 combination to the top side to take a 1-0 series lead over Stonebridge's Jane after game 1. The Sharks' Taylor M. switched up her style after contesting the start of game 2 with the Wolves' Jane. Taylor M. ripped a five-ball run-out with delicate touches to get this win, clinching the series at 2-0. Taylor M. had a decent start to game 3, but Jane picked up the pace late for the win to avoid the sweep. Taylor M. instead won the series 2-1.

Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Twinkie I v. Dreamy. The blue cue returns in 13-ball. Swordpoint's Dreamy had a nice surge of offense in game 1, pushing her past Pacific's Twinkie I early on. Dreamy closed the effort well too, going up 1-0 in the series. The Blades' Dreamy had one of each on the break, and chose to play stripes. The Volcanoes' Twinkie I was fine with this, as solids proved useful to her. Twinkie I used the 8 defensively late in the game, and Dreamy sank it illegally to gift Twinkie I the win that tied the series at 1. Dreamy had a messy finish in game 3, wasting good positioning with a scratch. Twinkie I had recovered from her earlier scratch and worked her way to the win for the 2-1 series win.

Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Puff II v. Daisy. The blue cue stays on for 9-ball before the lunch break. Boston's Puff II had a pair on the break and continued a steady offense throughout her game 1 win over Modernistic's Daisy. Puff II leads the series 1-0. The Union's Daisy made a four-ball run in the middle of game 2, but it went to waste as she missed on the 8. The Swifts' Puff II struck for the final pair of shots to get the win, securing the series at 2-0. Daisy wasted opportunities to make a winning shot in game 3, allowing Puff II to clean it up for the 3-0 series sweep.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Melissa v. Greg. After the break, the green cue is on for Accuracy. Terrace City's Melissa had a solid showing at times, but she wasted a late lead and allowed Archtown's Greg to win 3-4 in game 1. Greg holds a 1-0 series lead. The Knights' Melissa never really had a chance in game 2, as the Arrows' Greg was perfect until the last ball. Melissa couldn't keep up as Greg won 1-5 in the game to seal the series at 2-0. Melissa didn't put much effort into game 3, which gave Greg plenty of leeway once again. Greg won this one 2-4, sweeping the series 3-0 to get into the first round.

Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Kirstin v. Kiwi. The red cue makes an appearance for 10-ball. Stonebridge's Kirstin had a lot of offense, including four balls over her last two turns, but a miss on the 10 allowed Terrace City's Kiwi to poach game 1 for the 1-0 series lead. A relatively boring game 2 got good at the end. The Knights' Kiwi scratched on the 6, and the Wolves' Kirstin attempted a 7-10 combination to the top left. Kirstin missed, and Kiwi deflected the winning shot in as called to clinch the series at 2-0. Kiwi had plenty of possession opportunities in game 3, but eventually Kirstin took advantage for a six-ball run-out to get her lone win. Kiwi won the series 2-1.

Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Dewey v. Puff III. Northeastern rivals tangle in 9-ball with the purple cue. Harrison's Dewey found his way to a four-ball run in game 1, but that was the extent of his offense. Everton's Puff III would make the final pair of shots eventually, moving ahead 1-0 in the series. The Eagles' Puff III didn't stun in game 2, as both players had a late pair. In that exchange, the Specters' Dewey left the 9 at the bottom left, and Puff III buried it for the win to secure the series at 2-0. Puff III found a quick finish in game 3, working a four-ball run-out capped by a 7-9 combination to the top left to earn the 3-0 series sweep on Dewey.

FedEx Arena, Eastside: Maison v. Bright. A rookie and a veteran clash in the last 9-ball series, featuring the green cue. Pearl's Bright had a three-ball run early in game 1, but it was Eastside's Maison who struck for a four-ball run-out to earn the win. Maison leads the series 1-0. The Sharks' Maison had good offense with a three-ball run in game 2, and he made a good defensive play late to bump the 9 away from the bottom side. The Surfers' Bright came up just short on a bank to the top left, where Maison then tapped in the 9 for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Maison made the highlight reel in game 3 with a two-rail 5-7-9 kick combination to the bottom right for the win, stunning Bright as Maison made a 3-0 series sweep.

Cisco Arena, Tysini: Charli v. Dewey. The visitor's second series of the day comes in 12-ball with the purple cue. Tysini's Charli had to take a turn for an intentional scratch to fix her positioning in the middle of game 1. Both players made banks to the bottom right later on, but Harrison's Dewey had that as his winning shot for the 1-0 series lead. The Specters' Dewey opened with a three-ball run in game 2 before giving the Hummingbirds' Charli a wild-card ball. Charli created a three-ball run of her own, but patient positioning allowed Dewey to win with a three-ball run-out to get the win. Dewey sealed the series 2-0. Game 3 saw Charli received a wild-card ball on Dewey's break. Dewey tried to get positioning after that, but Charli was lined up early on and had no trouble earning the win. Dewey settled for a 2-1 series win.

GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Lize v. Stealth. The red cue exits the round after this 10-ball series. Southridge's Lize had a little offense in game 1, but she struggled to string plays together. Swordpoint's Stealth got away with a bit more, winning with four balls over his last two turns to go up 1-0 in the series. The Defenders' Lize worked a five-ball run in game 2, but it ended with an illegally potted ball. The Blades' Stealth took his time before finding a three-ball run-out for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Stealth had a brutal scratch in game 3, leading to Lize posting a late three-ball run in honorable fashion. Honor got Lize nowhere when she missed on the 10, and Stealth buried it to the bottom side for the win to sweep the series 3-0.

Volkswagen Stadium Events Center, Viewpoint Sound: Cobalt v. Cheddar. The silver cue is here, and ready to go in 15-ball. North Modernistic's Cheddar had a five-ball run and a three-ball run in game 1, but she couldn't close it out. Viewpoint Sound's Cobalt can likely count himself as lucky as he made the 15 at the bottom right for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Meteors' Cobalt had only two shots in game 2, missing on both of them. The Nighthawks' Cheddar unleashed a wicked thirteen-ball run and added the final pair on her second turn for the win to tie the series at 1. Cobalt finally grew a backbone on offense with a six-ball run, but he didn't support it well. At the end, Cheddar took game 3 with a five-ball run-out to take the series 2-1.

Ford Forum, Pronger: Potter v. Pedey. The purple cue's round finale comes in 13-ball. Todavía's Pedey never really got on track in game 1, while Pronger's Potter was good from the start and didn't slow down. Potter took the win easily, putting him ahead 1-0 in the series. The Tridents' Potter didn't like his positioning in game 2, but he made virtually no effort to improve it. The Stills' Pedey had plenty of time to work around the table to get the win on a four-ball run-out, tying the series at 1. Pedey had to weather a four-ball run from Potter in game 3 before he could attack. Pedey was sharp, but added a defensive element that bought him time to win the game. Pedey took the series 2-1.

Ford Forum, Pronger: Prism v. Rocky. The venue doubleheader ends with the silver cue in 10-ball. Pronger's Prism had a decent attack to start game 1, finding a three-ball run as well later on. Oceanside's Rocky had the last laugh, however, winning on a three-ball run-out for a 1-0 series lead. An even battle in game 2 turned into disaster when the Tridents' Prism scratched as she made the 8. The Waves' Rocky put both the 9 and 10 into the bottom side from ball-in-hand for the win, securing the series at 2-0. Rocky wasn't able to finish the sweep as Prism found her way to victory with a short run in game 3. Rocky took the series 2-1 and will head to the first round.

McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Isabella v. Puff I. It's finishing time for the round, with 12-ball on tap with the silver cue. Atlantic's Isabella needed a little time to establish herself in game 1, but Modernistic's Puff I had bad positioning and provided no challenge. Isabella walked away with the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Isabella had a ball on the break, but it left her with bad positioning on solids. The Union's Puff I pushed a four-ball run right away, and Isabella replied with a three-ball run to stay even. Puff I then made her final pair for the win, tying the series at 1 after a quick game. Puff I gave away a wild-card ball on the game 3 break, giving Isabella a little flexibility. Puff I kept it close to the end, but couldn't pot the 15 at the top right, and Isabella picked up the win for a 2-1 series win.

Chevrolet Center, Everton: Goldy v. Sierra. Back in 10-ball, the silver cue ends another event. Todavía's Sierra had much more menace on her shots in game 1, controlling the offense and making a pair at the end for the win. Sierra leads Everton's Goldy 1-0 in the series. The Eagles' Goldy found her game a bit more in game 2, playing well in a choppy start. The Stills' Sierra had illegal contact late, setting Goldy up for a four-ball run-out that tied the series at 1. Goldy had another good start in game 3, but a late miss on the 6 proved decisive. Sierra used positioning to make the 6-10 combination at the top side, earning the win and the 2-1 series win all at once.

Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Sprinkles v. Shawn. The silver cue's round finale is in 15-ball. Midland's Shawn had some struggles in game 1, none worse than his scratch as he tried to set up on the 15. Capital City's Sprinkles took the back-and-forth battle for a 1-0 series lead. The Sharpshooters' Sprinkles had a decent start in game 2 with a three-ball run, but she couldn't support her offense much. With choppy play ruling, the Predators' Shawn finished on a three-ball run-out to take the win. This tied the series at 1. Game 3 was hardly different from the others, but Sprinkles brought it to a sudden end with an 8-15 combination to the bottom right for the 2-1 series win over Shawn.

Intel Center, Diamond: Salmo v. Bear. The green cue gets its last series of the round in 13-ball. Everton's Bear made quick work of stripes in game 1 while Diamond's Salmo fought for positioning. Bear waited for Salmo to make some space, then ended the game with a bank of the 8 to the bottom right for the 1-0 series lead. The Eagles' Bear started with a four-ball run in game 2, then took one turn for positioning before his three-ball run-out won him the game. With the win, he clinched the series at 2-0 over the Gems' Salmo. Bear didn't stop there, playing a strong game 3. Salmo had the defense on the 8 near the end, but made an ill-advised play that opened up the final two shots Bear needed for the win. Bear swept the series 3-0.

Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Bright v. Twilight. The blue cue is back in action for the last 7-ball series of the round. Pearl's Bright nearly jammed the 7 to the bottom side on the game 1 break. Central's Twilight had some offense, but Bright made a three-ball run-out with a shot off the 6 to bump the 7 to the bottom right for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Surfers' Bright again nearly buried the 7 on the break in game 2, but this time it was the Warriors' Twilight who won. Twilight had a six-ball run-out, good enough to tie the series at 1. No drama came from the game 3 break, but Twilight beat Bright fast with a 3-7 combination to the top left. Twilight advanced to the first round on a 2-1 series win.

UPS Hall, Maplewood: Vladimir v. Autumn. The blue cue ends the day in 8-ball between Junior club-mates. Diamond's Autumn had a four-ball run after a slow start in game 1. Maplewood's Vladimir answered on a five-ball run, and then made each player's last ball before missing the 8. Autumn mopped up the 8 at the top left for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Lumberjacks' Vladimir cracked a four-ball run early in game 2 before his offense cooled. The Gems' Autumn answered with a five-ball run, but Vladimir pulled back with a four-ball run-out for the win, tying the series at 1. Both players had four-ball runs in game 3, and it came down to the wire, but Autumn's miss on the 8 gave Vladimir a second chance that he converted. Vladimir won the series 2-1 and will earn the final open spot in the first round.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Graham v. Shaggy. A former captain hosts a current one in 9-ball with the silver cue. Central's Graham did good work in game 1, ripping a five-ball run-out sparked by a lucky shot to beat Whitewater's Shaggy. Graham leads the series 1-0. The Warriors' Graham kept it going in game 2, benefiting from the Shores' Shaggy scratching on her only shot. Graham then had a four-ball run-out capped by a 5-9 combination to the bottom side for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Graham worked well in game 3, taking a steady stream of offense rather than a burst. Shaggy was unable to adapt, and Graham won with the final pair of shots to sweep the series 3-0.

Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Hershey v. Tigerette. The blue cue is on for 10-ball between these tough competitors. Commerce's Tigerette had a four-ball run in game 1, but ended with a scratch on the 8. Stonebridge's Hershey took over to make the last two shots for the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Hershey took over game 2 after a slow start on both sides saw the Tradewinds' Tigerette miss on the 3. Hershey unleashed a seven-ball run-out for the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Hershey had another good attack in game 3, making the first three and the last three balls in the game while splitting the middle with Tigerette. Hershey won the series 3-0.

HP Field Events Center, Midland: Kitty v. Sweetheart. Southeastern rivals clash in 12-ball with the silver cue. Boston's Sweetheart squandered good positioning in game 1, giving away a wild-card ball and taking a scratch on consecutive turns. Midland's Kitty then used the flexibility to make a three-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Kitty ripped down a four-ball run from the break, but needed the side pockets to close. The Swifts' Sweetheart made five balls over two turns, but couldn't quite settle her last shot, and Kitty struck the top side for the win to secure the series at 2-0. Kitty made a pair on the break, but couldn't solve positioning after. Sweetheart used a four-ball run to establish her lead, and then cautiously played around before earning the win. Kitty won the series 2-1.

GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Bianca v. Sarah. The red cue is up for an Accuracy series. Tysini's Sarah had a slow start and an ugly finish to game 1, while Southridge's Bianca was only mildly bad at the start. Bianca held her lead well and sealed it with a late double-pot, winning 2-5 to take a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 started off with solid play, then devolved into troubles on both sides in the middle. The Hummingbirds' Sarah wasn't at her best this time either, and saw the opportunity to win slip away with two late misses. The Defenders' Bianca sealed a 3-5 win to take the series at 2-0. Sarah mailed it in for game 3, and while Bianca wasn't great, her 3-6 win made it a 3-0 series sweep.

Oceanside's Megan had a pair of three-ball runs in game 1, but she missed a 7-9 combination to the top left. Stonebridge's Jane recovered from early misfortune in time to make a three-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Jane had a rough start to game 2 as well, but this time the Waves' Megan also struggled. Jane found her way with a five-ball run-out, locking in the series at 2-0. Game 3 was fairly competitive, but Megan's late miss on the 9 left it in line for Jane to knock into the bottom side. Jane converted, earning the win and 3-0 series sweep.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: Jack v. Cowzart. Former club-mates meet in Rotation with the blue cue. Web City's Jack had a surprising burst of offense in the middle and then added a three-ball run-out to take the 8-2 win over Pacific's Cowzart. Jack's surge pushed him to the 1-0 series lead. The Volcanoes' Cowzart roared back in game 2, unwilling to go quietly like many other visitors around the league today. He took and held a lead over the Spiders' Jack, resulting in Cowzart winning 8-3 to tie the series at 1. Cowzart had the early lead in game 3, but this time Jack used a four-ball run to get ahead. Jack would added the last pair for an 8-5 win to take the series 2-1 as he advances to the first round.

McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Buddy v. Bianca. The visitor's second series today is in 9-ball with the green cue. Atlantic's Buddy opened with a three-ball run, which Southridge's Bianca answered on a four-ball run before she scratched. Buddy won game 1 with a pair of shots from ball-in-hand, going ahead 1-0 in the series. The Pirates' Buddy looked to start hot again in game 2, but he missed on the 3. The Defenders' Bianca made a savvy deflection off the 3 to bump the 9 to the top left for the win that tied the series at 1. Three-ball runs were the theme in game 3, as Buddy's one run was sandwiched by similar plays from Bianca, who got the win. Bianca completed the comeback for a 2-1 series win.

Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Rudolph v. Waluigi. These bitter Northeastern rivals meet for Accuracy with the silver cue after the lunch break. Harrison's Rudolph had a strong performance with a ball on the break, and Web City's Waluigi was just a touch worse. Rudolph won game 1 by a 1-2 score for the 1-0 series lead. The Specters' Rudolph unraveled in game 2, his stellar offense turning into a shaky outing, while the Spiders' Waluigi turned to perfection for the 0-4 win. The series is tied at 1. Game 3 featured one of the league's worst finishes on both sides, as Waluigi failed multiple times to force overtime, and Rudolph narrowly escaped with a 6-7 win to take the series 2-1.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Dustin v. Greg. The purple cue's lone series of the day is in 10-ball. Archtown's Greg worked a pair of three-ball runs in game 1, but Central's Dustin made a three-ball run and took the 10 on his next turn for the win. Dustin owns a 1-0 series lead. The Arrows' Greg was mostly limited to contact and defensive plays in game 2. This didn't prove valuable, as the Warriors' Dustin made the 6 and deflected off the 7 to put the 10 in the bottom left on his last turn. Dustin clinched the series at 2-0. Dustin again played better on offense in game 3, but his bank on the 10 left it at the top right, and Greg knocked it in for the win. Dustin settled for a 2-1 series win.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Melissa v. Sweetheart. A true doubleheader begins with 15-ball with the red cue. Terrace City's Melissa had an early four-ball run and added a pair at the end despite Boston's Sweetheart making a solid push. Melissa leads the series 1-0 after an energetic opener. The Knights' Melissa had another good showing in game 2, playing solid burst offense. The Swifts' Sweetheart didn't have as much luck early on, but she cashed in a three-ball run-out at the end to tie the series at 1 with her win. Melissa continued to play her style in game 3, only for Sweetheart to again capitalize late with a three-ball run-out. Sweetheart claimed the series 2-1 with her late strikes.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Jennifer v. Gradley. The other half of the doubleheader is in 13-ball with the blue cue. Terrace City's Jennifer had all the early offense with a four-ball run off the break, but she couldn't line up the 8. Boston's Gradley applied a little defense and got Jennifer to sink the 8 on illegal contact. Gradley took the gifted win for a 1-0 series lead. The Swifts' Gradley had a three-ball run early in game 2, which the Knights' Jennifer answered shot-for-shot. Jennifer then broke Gradley's defense at the bottom side and pulled away with the win, which tied the series at 1. Game 3 started off remarkably tight, with Jennifer just hanging on to match Gradley's shots. Gradley then scratched on a positional play, and Jennifer took over with four balls over her last two turns for the win and 2-1 series win.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Chimpy v. Andrew. The first chapter of a venue tripleheader is in 12-ball with the blue cue. Freedom's Andrew had a little luck at the right side sandwiched between Westside's Chimpy posting three-ball runs, the latter of which earned him the win. Chimpy is ahead 1-0 in the series. A scratch in the middle of game 2 ruined the Rockers' Chimpy, as it took him too long to get back in position at the top side. The Cascades' Andrew also had to race for positioning, but he won at the bottom side just in time to tie the series at 1. Game 3 saw Andrew assert himself with a smashing break, and he then used a four-ball run-out on the fringes of disaster to beat Chimpy. Andrew took the series 2-1 to advance to the first round.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Slinks v. Leandra. The famous Harrison Specters duo, now established with new teams, battle in Rotation with the silver cue. Westside's Slinks established herself with a four-ball run from the break in game 1. Tysini's Leandra got a little back, but Slinks went unchallenged for the 8-2 win and 1-0 series lead. A slower start in game 2 gave the Hummingbirds' Leandra time to work a four-ball run. The Rockers' Slinks responded with a three-ball run but never got on level terms, and Leandra soon ran away with an 8-4 win to tie the series at 1. Game 3 was very tense at the start, as neither player wanted to cede a point. Leandra eventually took over and won 8-3 after a six-ball run-out, claiming the series as well by a 2-1 margin.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Misty v. Shadow. Captains and Solid Core members wrap up the tripleheader in Accuracy with the blue cue. Both players were excellent until the final ball, when they each missed. Diamond's Shadow made it to force overtime, where Westside's Misty got a late ball on the break. Shadow had no angle and missed, leaving Misty with a 1-2 win and 1-0 series lead. In game 2, both players took a step back, with the Rockers' Misty missing a chance to win in regulation. The Gems' Shadow forced overtime again and then Misty missed on the break. Shadow win 4-5 and tied the series at 1. Game 3 saw Shadow scratch on the break, which proved to be significant as Misty put together a perfect game in a 0-2 win. Misty's brilliant showing also earned her a 2-1 series win.

Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Wild Thing v. Angelica. A rising star and a rookie clash in the green cue's last series today in 13-ball. Stonebridge's Wild Thing had one of each on the break and chose stripes, working a four-ball run immediately. Lighton's Angelica kept it close, but mistakes held her back and allowed Wild Thing to scoop up a win on a less-than-clinical finish for the 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Wild Thing again showed good strategy in game 2, but he wasn't able to get favorable positioning near the end. The Prestige's Angelica took her time on the 8 before converting it to the top right for the win, tying the series at 1. Neither player was perfect in game 3, but Angelica's multiple errors were early enough to overcome. Wild Thing had three balls on his last two turns, but he missed the 8 to the bottom left, and Angelica mopped it up for the win. Angelica took the series 2-1.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Dustin v. Bells. The finale today is in 9-ball with the blue cue. Central's Dustin flaunted his offense quite well in game 1, but needed Todavía's Bells to miss the 7-9 combination to the top left before converting it himself. Dustin's bravado paid off for a 1-0 lead in the series. The Stills' Bells assured herself a majority of the possession in game 2 on a five-ball run, and later added the 8 before missing on the 9. The Warriors' Dustin gladly poached the win here, clinching the series at 2-0. Dustin had some bold plays in game 3, but he wasn't able to wrangle the 9. Bells potted it at the bottom right to avoid the sweep as Dustin won the series 2-1.

Cisco Arena, Tysini: Sugar v. Megan. The silver cue starts the day with 7-ball. Good plays and bad plays mixed evenly on both sides, although Tysini's Sugar was a bit more disappointing with her misses in game 1. Oceanside's Megan gladly cleaned up at the end for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Hummingbirds' Sugar made a more composed effort in game 2, including a four-ball run. The Waves' Megan had a chance to steal the win, but whiffed her shot and allowed Sugar to take the 7 to tie the series at 1. Sugar had a three-ball run in the middle of game 3, and then cleaned up the 7 after Megan missed on it. Sugar's push gave her the series at 2-1.

Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Klaus v. Molly. A newcomer and a rookie collide for the red cue's lone series of the day in Rotation. Archtown's Klaus had a positive start to game 1, but he didn't make it hold. Southern's Molly slowly chipped ahead and earned an 8-6 win to go up 1-0 in the series. The Monarchs' Molly made a pair on the game 2 break and never trailed in this one. The Arrows' Klaus had some good plays, but Molly held on to win 8-4 to seal the series at 2-0. Molly didn't have anything going for her in game 3, as Klaus stormed his way to an 8-2 win to cut the series to 2-1.

Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Pounce v. Bright. It's time for a 10-ball edition of the Coastal Derby, with the purple cue used. Southern's Pounce made a ball on the break, but his attempt on the 1 left an easy line for the 1-10 combination that Pearl's Bright put in the top left. Bright's quick strike gave him a 1-0 series lead. The Monarchs' Pounce once again undermined himself, as a contact play on the 7 set up a 7-10 combination that the Surfers' Bright converted in the top left for the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Bright had a large majority of the offense in game 3 as well, but Pounce struck for a three-ball run-out to avoid the sweep with his lone win in the 2-1 series.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Twilight v. Hershey. The blue cue draws in between tough foes for Accuracy. Central's Twilight made a ball on the break and refused to miss in game 1, capitalizing on poorer play from Stonebridge's Hershey for a 0-3 win. Twilight is ahead 1-0 in the series. After a shaky start to game 2, both players looked pretty good. The game went to overtime, where the Warriors' Twilight went empty on the break, and the Wolves' Hershey converted for a 2-3 win. Twilight returned to near perfection in game 3, only missing on the final ball with the result firmly in her hands. Twilight beat Hershey 1-5 in the game and 2-1 in the series.

Kraft Forum, Royal: Brownie v. Bells. The green cue begins a long run of action with this 7-ball series. Royal's Brownie had a good break in game 1, with the 3 just poking the 7 around the 1 and to the top side for the win and 1-0 series lead over a stunned Todavía's Bells. The Crowns' Brownie had a three-ball run from the break, which the Stills' Bells answered with a three-ball run of her own, only to miss on the 7. Brownie cleaned up the 7 at the bottom right to get the win and 2-0 lead in the series. Bells again had a chance to get a win, but her run came to a close with a miss on the 6. Brownie put the 7 away to the top side and swept the series 3-0.

Kraft Forum, Royal: Jake v. Ms. Kitty. Completing the venue doubleheader, there's 8-ball with the green cue. Pacific's Ms. Kitty took a reckless style to game 1, but it worked out. Royal's Jake used a five-ball run halted by a scratch to keep things close until Ms. Kitty banked the 8 to the top right for the 1-0 series lead. The Crowns' Jake had a threatening four-ball run in game 2, but a pair of misses on the 8 allowed the Volcanoes' Ms. Kitty to swoop in for the win that secured the series in her favor at 2-0. Jake had all the early offense in game 3, but he again lacked the finishing touch, allowing a big rally that saw Ms. Kitty clear seven balls over her last two turns for the win. Ms. Kitty swept the series 3-0.

Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Shiny v. Blizzard. The green cue's tour continues after the break with 15-ball. Harrison's Blizzard had few good moments outside of a late three-ball run in game 1, while Lighton's Shiny used a steady offense to earn the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Specters' Blizzard continued to look weak with her shots. At the end of game 2, the Prestige's Shiny jumped on a three-ball run-out capped by a 9-15 combination to the top side to clinch the series at 2-0. Blizzard got on the board in game 3, as a faster paced battle suited her well. She made five of the last six balls for the win, while Shiny struggled to stay focused. Shiny still won the series 2-1.

T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Sage v. Goldy. A pair of strategic veterans tangle in 12-ball with the green cue. Victoria's Sage built a strong defense at the bottom right, which allowed her to attack wisely around the table. Everton's Goldy tried to defend the top side and came up short, with Sage taking the 1-0 series lead. The Spurs' Sage started well again in game 2, but the Eagles' Goldy was aggressive with a four-ball run. Sage had a late scratch, but Goldy's following missed contact allowed Sage to make the final pair of shots for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Sage couldn't get contact to position at the side pockets, making game 3 an easy finish for Goldy to avoid the sweep. Sage settled instead for a 2-1 series win.

Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Sparkles v. Nightfur. The purple cue draws in for this 13-ball set. Golden's Sparkles had a powerful break and took advantage of multiple scratches from Eastside's Nightfur to maintain the edge. Sparkles had no trouble earning the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Pilots' Sparkles went empty on the game 2 break, but the Sharks' Nightfur struggled with late positioning. Sparkles took her time and picked up a three-ball run-out for the win, sealing the series at 2-0. Sparkles charged quite well in game 3, grappling for positioning with Nightfur early on before releasing a nice cut on the 8 to the top side at the end. Sparkles' success resulted in a 3-0 series sweep.

Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Missy v. Autumn. The purple cue goes again in 9-ball. Capital City's Missy brought her home fans to their feet with a massive eight-ball run-out on just her second turn, good for a 1-0 series lead over Diamond's Autumn. The Sharpshooters' Missy again dominated the offense in game 2, including a five-ball run over the middle. Missy couldn't corral the 9, and the Gems' Autumn converted it to the top left for the win to tie the series at 1. Missy controlled the offense with a four-ball run in game 3, and she later made the last pair of shots to finish off Autumn. Missy advanced on a 2-1 series win.

Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Starlight v. Hoot. Coastal captains meet in 8-ball with the silver cue. Pacific's Starlight had a four-ball run in game 1, but it was sandwiched between a five-ball run and a three-ball run-out from Viewpoint Sound's Hoot. For the winning shot, Hoot jump a line of stripes to cut the 8 to the bottom left, a top-10 play to give him a 1-0 series lead. The Volcanoes' Starlight changed her attack to three short bursts of offense in game 2, while the Meteors' Hoot had virtually no offense to speak of this time. Starlight picked up the win to tie the contentious series at 1. Game 3 saw both players hold back a bit and use defense, but Starlight was more effective on offense and got the narrow win to take a 2-1 series win over Hoot.

Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Gradley v. Blaze. Youth Movement members clash in 12-ball with the blue cue. Boston's Gradley had a good start in game 1, but it took him too long to position his last shot. In that time, Infinity's Blaze executed a comeback push for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Swifts' Gradley suffered an unfortunate penalty to lose a side pocket ball in game 2. It may not have made a difference, as the Torpedoes' Blaze looked sharp with positioning again and easily won to seal the series at 2-0. Gradley didn't have enough in him after another scratch in game 3. Blaze used a four-ball run to set himself up, then nailed the 7 to the top left for the win and 3-0 series sweep.

GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Wario v. Graham. The green cue's last appearance today is in 8-ball. Southridge's Wario peaked too early with a four-ball run in game 1, and he couldn't make his last ball. Central's Graham did as collateral damage during a four-ball run-out that gave the visitor a 1-0 series lead. The Warriors' Graham had a good attack in game 2, but scratches put him out of position to win. The Defenders' Wario capitalized on the free possession at the end to get the win, which in turn tied the series at 1. Wario unleashed a five-ball run early in game 3, then took his time before a three-ball run-out materialized. Graham wasted the opportunity to catch up, and Wario won the series 2-1 to advance.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Midnight v. Jane. The purple cue is back for this 12-ball series. Westside's Midnight had a pair early in game 1. Stonebridge's Jane fired back with a three-ball run, but after a brief lull, Midnight worked a four-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Rockers' Midnight had a four-ball run in response to a five-ball run from the Wolves' Jane in a speedy game 2 battle. Positioning doomed Midnight, as Jane had a clear line to the bottom right for the win to tie the series at 1. Jane gave away a wild-card ball late in game 3, making things very tight at the end. Midnight missed a bank shot to the bottom left that would have won her the game, and Jane made a similar shot to the top right on her next turn to take the series 2-1.

HP Field Events Center, Midland: Kitty v. Ruby. The silver cue's last series today is in Accuracy. Midland's Kitty scratched on the game 1 break and never got on track. Todavía's Ruby narrowly missed perfection with a miss on the final ball, which left her with a 1-5 win and 1-0 series lead. The Stills' Ruby had a run of bad luck in the middle of game 2, but the Predators' Kitty eased up way too fast. With the game tied, Ruby missed a bank attempt, and Kitty converted for the 4-5 win to tie the series at 1 despite her sloppy play. Game 3 wasn't as extreme as before, but it still saw Ruby fall apart in the middle, Kitty slide into a tie, and then Ruby scratch on the last ball. Kitty walked away with a 2-3 win to take the series 2-1.

Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Boots v. Vladimir. Today's finale is in 7-ball with the purple cue. Both players started game 1 with a three-ball run, but Maplewood's Vladimir just nicked the 7 for contact on his last shot. Pearl's Boots cut it to the top side for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Surfers' Boots had a much slower offense in game 2, although she faded completely at the end. The Lumberjacks' Vladimir picked up the final pair of shots for the win, tying the series at 1. Game 3 went back and forth after Vladimir's opening three-ball run. Boots would pick up the 7 at the end on a bank to the bottom right to win the series 2-1.

Right now, all signs are pointing to playing tomorrow in some capacity rather than taking a day off.

Tournament X - Play-In Round Day 8

We're back for a Friday filled with action. Leading off...

Intel Center, Diamond: Salmo v. Dusty. The green cue gets the first look today in Rotation. Game 1 was a back-and-forth affair, with Golden's Dusty getting the early lead and a four-ball run later that didn't stand against Diamond's Salmo. The host won 8-7 with a pair of four-ball runs, which puts Salmo up 1-0 in the series. The Gems' Salmo had a harder time in game 2, as the Pilots' Dusty had a suffocating defense. Salmo kept up remarkably well, but scratched late, and Dusty wound up winning 8-6 to tie the series at 1. Dusty had a great performance in game 3, upping her defense from the previous game to smother Salmo for an 8-1 win. Dusty took the series 2-1.

McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Dusky v. Delila. The newcomer meets the captain for this all-Atlantic Pirates series of Accuracy. Dusky had a rough start to game 1, missing quite a few early on. Delila nearly gave it all back but closed the door at 3-4 to get the win for a 1-0 series lead. Delila again lost a lead in game 2, and this time it caused overtime. Dusky was doing fine until a late scratch on the extra rack, allowing Delila to win 4-5 to clinch the series at 2-0. Delila and Dusky were perfect deep into game 3, until Delila had a late miss. Dusky clamped down to win 0-1, a minor consolation as she lost the series 2-1.

Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Klaus v. Smudge. The silver cue gets its daily debut in 13-ball. Archtown's Klaus had a decent start, but he faded and struggled late before giving Infinity's Smudge the catalyst she needed to post a three-ball run-out for the win after her own scratching problems. Smudge leads the series 1-0. The Torpedoes' Smudge had struggles with executing on decent positioning in game 2. The Arrows' Klaus experienced no such trouble with his five-ball run and careful positioning before sinking the final pair for the win. The series is tied at 1. Game 3 became a race near the end, although Klaus stumbled with a scratch and Smudge even gave up collateral damage a turn before making the final pair. After the game, Klaus was revealed to have overfilled the bottom side anyway, a further assurance of Smudge's success in the 2-1 series.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Oreo v. Shaggy. Urban rivals clash in Accuracy with the green cue. Terrace City's Oreo greatly enjoyed the comforts of home in game 1, while Whitewater's Shaggy played a shaky game. Oreo ran away with the 1-5 win for a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 saw the players on slightly more even terms, but the Shores' Shaggy still lacked a clutch finishing touch. The Knights' Oreo made the last ball on her second try to win 3-4, clinching the series at 2-0 in the process. Oreo showed no mercy in game 3, holding the lead throughout and hanging on to beat Shaggy 2-3 for the 3-0 series sweep.

McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Buddy v. Prism. A player doubleheader begins with 8-ball and the red cue. Atlantic's Buddy had a good start to game 1, but couldn't make it stand as Pronger's Prism made four balls over her last two turns for the win. Prism leads the series 1-0. The Tridents' Prism exploded for a six-ball run early in game 2, but couldn't sustain that pace. The Pirates' Buddy slowly built up to that level and nabbed the win with four balls over his last two turns to tie the series at 1. Buddy had a solid showing in game 3, his steady and quick offense leaving Prism in the dust. Buddy won the series 2-1 to advance into the first round.

GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Bianca v. Buddy. The visitor completes his doubleheader in 10-ball with the red cue. Southridge's Bianca made three balls on the game 1 break, including the 10. Atlantic's Buddy tried to fight back during the course of play, but he wasn't sharp, and Bianca took the win at the bottom right for the 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Bianca ripped a six-ball run in game 2, but that led to an ugly battle on the 10, which she missed twice before knocking it down. The Pirates' Buddy also missed the 10 twice, allowing Bianca to seal the series at 2-0. Bianca had runs of four and three balls on her two turns in game 3, but she missed contact on the 9 to allow Buddy to make the final pair of shots for his lone win in the 2-1 series.

Cisco Arena, Tysini: Charli v. Shawn. The purple cue is back for 8-ball. Tysini's Charli didn't have any offense in game 1, while Midland's Shawn needed just a pair of four-ball runs to pick up the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Shawn started well in game 2, but he was a little slow to close things out offensively. The Hummingbirds' Charli stepped up with a three-ball run-out for the win, tying the series at 1. Shawn had a tough time getting started in game 3, but he still managed a chance on the 8 that went wide of the bottom right. Despite her late fade, Charli had enough to get the win, clinching the series at 2-1.

Ford Forum, Pronger: Avril v. Spot. Two Pronger Tridents meet in 13-ball with the red cue. Avril put in a lot of good work in game 1 to keep up with Spot, but Avril's sinking of the 8 came on illegal contact. This gifted the win and 1-0 series lead to Spot. In game 2, Spot had a significant lead early on, but Avril chipped away at it and kept things close. Both players finished their suits at the top right, but Avril was able to make the 8 to the bottom left for the win to tie the series at 1. Spot made a push with a three-ball run late in game 3, but it merely cleared the way for Avril to supplement her good start with a strong finish and the win. Avril surged to take the series 2-1 in a comeback.

Toyota Arena, Freedom: Andrew v. Taylor S. The silver cue is up for 8-ball. Freedom's Andrew took his time in game 1 before he made a seven-ball run. Commerce's Taylor S. had no answer for that, and Andrew easily took the 8 at the bottom left for a 1-0 series lead. The Tradewinds' Taylor S. claimed solids in game 2, which started slow. The Cascades' Andrew then replicated his last effort with a seven-ball run, and he again picked off the 8 just fine for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Andrew would have to settle for a 2-1 series win after he illegally sank the 8 early in game 3, before Taylor S. even potted a ball.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Melissa v. Hoppy. The purple cue's exit series today is 9-ball. A choppy game 1 saw Terrace City's Melissa fall behind a bit on offense. Archtown's Hoppy was able to take care of the rest, a three-ball run-out serving to give her the win and 1-0 lead in the series. The Arrows' Hoppy tried to play aggressive in game 2 as well, but a late scratch on the 7 ruined her game. The Knights' Melissa made the last two shots from ball-in-hand, winning the game and tying the series at 1. Hoppy had a majority of the offense in game 3, aided by a four-ball run, but she rattled her shot on the 8. Melissa converted it and the 9 to snag the win and 2-1 series win.

Game 1 was tight, but a good start with two balls on the break kept Boston's Gradley a step ahead of Capital City's Sprinkles. At the end, Gradley won 8-5 with a three-ball run-out, going up 1-0 in the series. The Swifts' Gradley had another good start, and he didn't face much of a challenge from the Sharpshooters' Sprinkles in game 2. Gradley cruised to an 8-3 win this time, sealing the series at 2-0. Despite a myriad of brutal errors, Sprinkles rallied with a four-ball run-out to beat Gradley 8-7 in game 3. Gradley still took the series 2-1.

Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Missy v. Rocky. A veteran brings in a rookie for 13-ball with the green cue. Capital City's Missy was on a big attack early in game 1, but she couldn't bring the effort home. Oceanside's Rocky surged late on a three-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Waves' Rocky opened game 2 on a four-ball run, but his offense went dry from there. The Sharpshooters' Missy started a little slow, but when the positioning arrived, she knocked in a four-ball run-out to tie the series at 1 with her win. Game 3 ended up being incredibly close. Rocky found his surge in offense a little bit late, but missed on his last solid and left a position for Missy to work with at the bottom side. Missy won two shots later and took the series 2-1.

Sony Center, Queens: Pauline v. Cleo. Moving east, the silver cue administers some 9-ball. Besides some early oddities, Queens' Pauline had a strong showing in game 1, including a six-ball run-out to beat Everton's Cleo for the 1-0 series lead. A similar pattern emerged in game 2, as the Eagles' Cleo had a little offense, only to watch the Flames' Pauline rip a five-ball run-out for the win. Pauline secured the series at 2-0 this time. Pauline didn't let Cleo shoot in game 3, taking a pair on the break and ending with a 2-9 combination to the bottom left two shots later for the win and 3-0 series sweep.

Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Citrus v. Marissa. The silver cue goes again in 9-ball. Maplewood's Marissa had a three-ball run going in game 1, but missed on the 9. Lighton's Citrus drained it at the top side for the win, going up 1-0 in the series after a close battle. The Lumberjacks' Marissa weathered an early four-ball run from the Prestige's Citrus, then countered for a pair at the end of the game. Marissa's good finish earned her a win and tied the series at 1. Marissa quite literally caught a break in game 3, sending the 9 to the top left on the opening shot and narrowly avoiding a scratch to get the instant win. Marissa beat Citrus 2-1 in the series.

Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Dominic v. Chimpy. Unpredictable opponents use the green cue in 15-ball. Southern's Dominic flashed more offense in game 1 than did Westside's Chimpy. Dominic was rewarded at the end when a tough shot on the 15 found the top side to give him a 1-0 series lead. The Monarchs' Dominic continued to show well on offense in game 2, but he slipped up on the 14. The Rockers' Chimpy was proudly opportunistic to pick up the win, tying the series at 1. Dominic again chipped in plenty of offense in game 3, but it again went to waste when he couldn't convert a deflection off the 14 to push the 15 near the top left. Chimpy made the last two shots, which secured the series in his favor at 2-1.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Jennifer v. Yekaterina. Senior club members clash in today's finale, using the blue cue for Accuracy. Terrace City's Jennifer made a pair on the break, then missed a couple of late shots in game 1 as Victoria's Yekaterina stayed perfect for a 0-2 win. Yekaterina owns a 1-0 series lead. The Knights' Jennifer obtained a lead early in game 2, but she couldn't make it stand, her own late fade allowing the Spurs' Yekaterina to hold true for a 2-3 win. Yekaterina clinched the series at 2-0. Yekaterina put in another perfect effort in game 3, winning by a 0-2 score again as Jennifer faltered in the mid-game. Yekaterina swept the series 3-0.

There will be games tomorrow, but Sunday's status remains up in the air.
