Tournament X - Second Round Day 14

We're ready to go one more time before a scheduled day off. First up...

Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Sleepy B. v. Dani. Two veterans tangle in Rotation with the blue cue to lead things off. Archtown's Sleepy B. was pretty quick on offense to start game 1, while Viewpoint Sound's Dani controlled the middle of the game. Sleepy B. wasn't bothered, finishing with an 8-3 win to take a 1-0 series lead. The Arrows' Sleepy B. had an awful break that still spawned a three-ball run to start game 2. The Meteors' Dani kept things close and surged towards the end for an 8-6 win, tying the series at 1. Dani came quite close to a win in game 3 with her four-ball run, but Sleepy B. got a point back and then found a four-ball run-out to win 8-7. Sleepy B.'s 2-1 series win has her in line to host again in the bracket quarterfinals.

Apple Center, Todavía: Sierra v. Cleo. The green cue gets a return to action in Accuracy. Todavía's Sierra did well late in game 1 to force overtime, but Everton's Cleo struck on the overtime break and gave Sierra nothing to work with. Cleo ended up with a 3-4 win to go ahead 1-0 in the series. The Eagles' Cleo couldn't be shaken in game 2, playing perfectly after the break while a couple of slip-ups cost the Stills' Sierra a chance at the series. Cleo won 0-2 and clinched the series at 2-0. Cleo scratched on the break in game 3 and never really stood a chance to catch up as Sierra asserted herself for a 1-3 win. Cleo settled for a 2-1 series win, which sees her continue on the road in the bracket quarterfinals.

Intel Center, Diamond: Debby v. Buddy. Back in Rotation, the blue cue goes again. Pairs of shots were the key to success in game 1, with Diamond's Debby taking a pair off the break. Atlantic's Buddy was a little more clinical on offense, and that earned him an 8-4 win for the 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Buddy scratched on the game 2 break, wiping two points off the board. The Gems' Debby kept it clean and used a four-ball run to get onto the brink of victory. Buddy put up a fight, but Debby won 8-6 to tie the series at 1. Buddy tried hard again in game 3, but his offense was clearly spent earlier in the series. Debby got the win on a three-ball run-out, the 8-3 result giving her a 2-1 series win as well. She'll host another Eastern Hills rival, the Pronger Tridents' Spot, in the bracket quarterfinals.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Kiwi v. Americus. The red cue's lone appearance today comes in 9-ball. Midland's Americus was there to pick up game 1 after Terrace City's Kiwi had a late scratch while sinking the 8. Americus took the 9 to the top side from ball-in-hand for her 1-0 series lead. Game 2 saw a reversal of roles, as the Predators' Americus suffered the late scratch this time. The Knights' Kiwi deposited the 9 to the top left for an easy win, tying the series at 1 to set up a big finale. Kiwi struggled a lot in game 3, taking two scratches and failing most of her shots. Americus worked a late three-ball run, only to miss on the 9, which Kiwi tapped into the top left for a 2-1 series win. Kiwi will visit the Tysini Hummingbirds' Charli in the bracket quarterfinals.

Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Dusty v. Wings. The green cue will play in 7-ball. Golden's Dusty picked up a three-ball run in game 1, but couldn't finish the effort as she rattled the 7 out of the top left. Pearl's Wings knocked it down for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Surfers' Wings wasn't particularly sharp in game 2 either, but this time he would suffer a loss as the Pilots' Dusty timed her three-ball run-out well. Dusty's win tied the series at 1. Game 3 didn't look like one Dusty should win, but Wings backed himself into a tough position on the 7. He made the shot, but scratched at the top right, gifting the win and 2-1 series win to Dusty. That earns Dusty a spot in the bracket quarterfinals.

Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Klaus v. Bianca. The silver cue activates for 8-ball. Southridge's Bianca was particularly bad in game 1, sinking just one ball and scratching to put it back on the table. Archtown's Klaus dipped after a strong start, but finished with a kick on the 8 to the top right and still had a shutout for the 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Bianca didn't improve in game 2, making exactly zero balls this time around. The Arrows' Klaus had a six-ball run to lead the way, then slowly but surely potted his last two, with a scratch to slow him down, for the win that secured the series at 2-0. Klaus took care of business again in game 3, with no challenge from a highly frustrated Bianca, who made just one ball again. Klaus finished on a three-ball run-out, double-potting the 9 and 6-12 combination before sending the 8 to the top side. Klaus swept the series 3-0 and will host his bracket quarterfinals series.

Nissan Hall, Infinity: Fuchsia v. Rainmane. Former teammates collide in 15-ball with the purple cue. Midland's Rainmane had a lot of offense in game 1 with a seven-ball run, but she wouldn't get the reward. Infinity's Fuchsia had a four-ball run in response, and then added the 15 at the top side for the win and 1-0 series lead. Game 2 didn't feature as much clean offense, causing frustrations to boil over for both players by the end. The Predators' Rainmane was noticeably annoyed by positioning and fell apart in the end, allowing the Torpedoes' Fuchsia to pick up the final pair of shots for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Fuchsia had a poor break in game 3, but it was Rainmane who stunned with a shot on the 2 to the bottom left that also sent the 15 to the top side for the win. Fuchsia settled for a 2-1 series win, setting her up to host the Maplewood Lumberjacks' Vladimir in the bracket quarterfinals.

Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Wings v. Ms. Kitty. The host's second series today is a Coastal derby in Accuracy with the purple cue. Pearl's Wings had a decent effort in game 1, but couldn't quite hang on at the end. Pacific's Ms. Kitty held firm to win 2-4, going ahead 1-0 in the series. The Surfers' Wings made a valiant effort to stay alive in game 2, but a late miss with two balls left on the table made it easy for the Volcanoes' Ms. Kitty to secure the win. Ms. Kitty ended up with a 3-5 win to clinch the series at 2-0. Wings did better in game 3, keeping his play clean after a sloppy start. Ms. Kitty slipped behind and had no time to recover as Wings won 2-4. Ms. Kitty took the series 2-1 and will play in the bracket quarterfinals.

Volkswagen Stadium Events Center, Viewpoint Sound: Princess v. Kitty. The green cue cycles in for 8-ball. A close and choppy battle in game 1 saw Viewpoint Sound's Princess running on a short fuse. Midland's Kitty had the same troubles but a little more composure, enough to run out the game late for a 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Kitty grabbed a three-ball run in a more controlled game 2 performance. The Meteors' Princess sandwiched that with a four-ball run and a three-ball run-out for her win, tying the series at 1. Princess opened game 3 on a four-ball run that was halted by a scratch. The Predators' Kitty answered on a six-ball run, but Princess fired off a five-ball run-out for the win and 2-1 series win. Princess retains hosting rights in the bracket quarterfinals.

Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Spirit v. Gal. The green cue remains active in 7-ball. Lighton's Spirit was unable to string her offense together in game 1, leading to North Modernistic's Gal enjoying more of the success. Gal picked up a three-ball run-out at the end for a 1-0 series lead. The Prestige's Spirit found more success on offense in game 2, but at the end, she scratched while potting the 7. This let the Nighthawks' Gal off the hook for a poor showing, as Gal now secured the series at 2-0 with the free win. Gal scratched early in game 3 and missed a shot on the 5 later on. Spirit capitalized with offense from both of those situations, including a three-ball run-out for her lone win. Gal won the series 2-1 and is set to visit the Golden Pilots' Dusty in the bracket quarterfinals.

Samsung Arena, Whitewater: Marsell v. Tigerette. Struggling Urban rivals battle in 8-ball with the green cue. Whitewater's Marsell started with a pair of stripes and one solid on the break in game 1, the first of his two four-ball runs used to easily beat Commerce's Tigerette in the game. Marsell leads the series 1-0. The Tradewinds' Tigerette found a five-ball run in game 2, but it ended with a scratch. The Shores' Marsell quickly got on track with a six-ball run, and he put the 8 in the bottom left on his next turn for the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Marsell had another strong performance in game 3, quickly jumping ahead of Tigerette, who was unable to mount any sort of comeback. Marsell's easy win completed the 3-0 series sweep to get him into the bracket quarterfinals. Tigerette is the fourth player to exit the Tournament, giving Marsell his first kill this year.

FedEx Arena, Eastside: Lily v. Wild Thing. Eastern Hills rivals square up in 12-ball with the green cue. Stonebridge's Wild Thing had a five-ball run to establish himself in game 1. He still had to hold off a sequence of four balls in two turns from Eastside's Lily, but she would miss on her last ball, and Wild Thing was able to earn the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Wild Thing paced the offense again in game 2, but this time, he missed contact on his last ball. The Sharks' Lily, with a wild-card ball in tow, was able to make a three-ball run-out from ball-in-hand for the win. This tied the series at 1. Lily had some offense in game 3, and both players exchanged wild-card balls in the middle. At the end, Lily scratched to give her wild-card ball back, allowing Wild Thing to sink the final pair of shots for the win. Wild Thing is headed to the bracket quarterfinals on a 2-1 series win.

Intel Center, Diamond: Debby v. Lorde. Celebrity club-mates meet in 8-ball with the blue cue. Capital City's Lorde attacked well early in game 1 and had just enough in the tank to hold off Diamond's Debby on the comeback effort. Lorde got the win just in time to go ahead 1-0 in the series. The Sharpshooters' Lorde wasn't quite as good in game 2, and to her misfortune, the Gems' Debby was able to cover that deficit in offense. Debby played very well at first and eventually picked up the win to tie the series at 1. Debby couldn't seem to get any offense going in game 3, and she didn't even make much of a comeback attempt as in game 1. Lorde mostly went unchallenged to victory, picking up the game and the 2-1 series win to get into the bracket quarterfinals.

Ford Forum, Pronger: Avril v. Starlight. More 8-ball sees the silver cue's exit today. Pronger's Avril had a strong start in game 1, and that gave her a cushion as Pacific's Starlight pushed hard at the end. Avril was able to send the 8 to the top left just in time, earning a win and 1-0 series lead. The Tridents' Avril scratched on the break in game 2, and the Volcanoes' Starlight made sure to make her host pay for it. Starlight's lead was just big enough to hold on at the end, as Avril's comeback was a little short before Starlight sank the 8 to the bottom side for the win. The series is tied at 1. Starlight got the upper hand in game 3 and used it well, forcing Avril into an ill-fated risky play at the end. This left the 8 open at the bottom left for Starlight to deposit for the win and 2-1 series win. Starlight will visit the Archtown Arrows' Klaus in the bracket quarterfinals.

Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Kirstin v. Lionel. The green cue is back for 9-ball. Stonebridge's Kirstin didn't dominate in game 1, but with North Modernistic's Lionel looking shaky on offense, Kirstin had little trouble in picking up the win. Kirstin holds a 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Kirstin continued to be just alright on offense in game 2, and she would pay for it this time. The Nighthawks' Lionel stepped up his quality at the end, winning on a four-ball run-out to tie the series at 1. Lionel made game 3 very quick, sinking the 2 at the bottom left and the 9 at the top side for the instant win. Lionel beat Kirstin 2-1 in the series and will get a chance to host the Web City Spiders' Cubby in the bracket quarterfinals.

Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Leonette v. Ms. Kitty. Volcanoes teammates end the day with the green cue in 8-ball. Leonette had a much better start on stripes in game 1, but her play dropped off once she got to the 8. Ms. Kitty charged back to grab the win at the end, good for a 1-0 series lead. Leonette again started well, but Ms. Kitty showed a willingness to take risks in game 2. It nearly hurt Ms. Kitty, who was very close to illegally sinking the 8, but Leonette failed to take advantage of it, and Ms. Kitty won on a three-ball run-out to seal the series at 2-0. Ms. Kitty had the better start in game 3, and also surged late, but Leonette cut her off with a three-ball run-out for her lone win of the series. Ms. Kitty took the series 2-1 and will be on the board in the bracket quarterfinals.

Tournament X - Second Round Day 13

The green cue will sit out today's action. Other than that, a normal day awaits, beginning with...

Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Dewey v. Sprinkles. The silver cue starts today in 15-ball. Harrison's Dewey did alright in game 1, but faded toward the end, opening up enough room for Capital City's Sprinkles to win on a four-ball run-out. Sprinkles holds a 1-0 series lead. The Specters' Dewey was able to collect a six-ball run-out late in game 2, earning a win of his own to tie the series at 1 after a slight setback for the Sharpshooters' Sprinkles. A delay occurred before game 3. Dewey struggled a little bit early in game 3, but he was able to strike for seven of the last eight balls to beat Sprinkles for the 2-1 series win. Dewey is set to host Pronger Tridents veteran Potter in the bracket quarterfinals.

Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Angelica v. Dusky. The silver cue is up again for Rotation. Atlantic's Dusky was a little stronger to start game 1, but Lighton's Angelica didn't take too long to catch up. Angelica would make a four-ball run-out at the end for an 8-2 win to go ahead 1-0 in the series. The Prestige's Angelica couldn't keep up with the pace established in game 2. The Pirates' Dusky had a fairly simply offense, working her way to an 8-5 win capped by a pair of shots at the end. Dusky tied the series at 1. Dusky held the lead for much of game 3, but a five-ball run jolted Angelica ahead. Dusky couldn't counter it, and Angelica picked up an 8-6 win to take the 2-1 series win. Angelica will be a host again in the bracket quarterfinals.

Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Twinkie I v. Katharine. The purple cue draws in with 8-ball. Pacific's Twinkie I had a lot of early offense in game 1, but couldn't finish the effort. Whitewater's Katharine played a little defense, then heated up on offense to win on a three-ball run-out. Katharine is ahead 1-0 in the series. The Volcanoes' Twinkie I again turned up the heat on offense early, but faded towards the end of game 2. The Shores' Katharine picked up her pace with a four-ball run and added a three-ball run-out to clinch the series at 2-0. Twinkie I picked up a five-ball run to take a big lead in game 3, but she should have finished the effort. Katharine fired back on a seven-ball run-out for the win and 3-0 series sweep. Katharine's comeback prowess will travel to Freedom to take on the Cascades' Nikolai in the bracket quarterfinals.

HP Field Events Center, Midland: Kitty v. Waluigi. The red cue takes a turn in 7-ball. Midland's Kitty had most of the offense in game 1, but couldn't bring it home. Web City's Waluigi was there to take the final pair of shots for the win, going ahead 1-0 in the series. The Spiders' Waluigi didn't inspire much confidence during game 2, playing just okay. The Predators' Kitty struggled at first as well, but finished on a three-ball run-out with a long hit on the 7 to the top left for the win. Kitty tied the series at 1. Kitty went empty on the game 3 break, but she ran the table on her second turn, stunning Waluigi as Kitty took a 2-1 series win. Kitty will host her appearance in the bracket quarterfinals.

GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Wario v. Blaze. The red cue remains in action for Rotation. Southridge's Wario carved out the extra offense fairly early in game 1, and weathered an attack from Infinity's Blaze late. Wario won 8-5 and leads the series 1-0. The Torpedoes' Blaze bounced back in game 2, taking the lead after an early battle for possession. The Defenders' Wario couldn't keep up, his lack of offense becoming more clear later on. Blaze won the game 8-2 and tied the series at 1. Blaze did reasonably well in game 3 and managed to pull away at the end when Wario faltered once again. Blaze finished off the win 8-2 and took the series 2-1 to get into the bracket quarterfinals, where he'll visit the Midland Predators' Americus.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Dustin v. Sally. Back in 7-ball, the red cue keeps going between Northeastern rivals. Central's Dustin was a bit sloppy with his play in game 1, scratching as he made the 6. Archtown's Sally previously had a three-ball run and added the 7 from ball-in-hand for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Warriors' Dustin looked pretty strong with a four-ball run in game 2, but he scratched in an attempt on the 7. The Arrows' Sally sank it to the bottom side, again easily taking a win that sealed the series at 2-0. Sally's break in game 3 resulted in the 3 and the cue falling in the bottom left, and the 7 sunk at the bottom side for an instant loss. Dustin took the freebie to avoid the sweep, while the 2-1 series win means Sally will visit Midland Predators sophomore Kitty in the bracket quarterfinals.

Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Niki v. Fuchsia. More 7-ball uses the purple cue. Infinity's Fuchsia found a four-ball run in game 1, but it didn't make a difference on the result. Fuchsia missed the 7, which Commerce's Niki tapped in at the bottom right for the win and 1-0 series lead. Game 2 was at a slower pace, but a familiar moment occurred as the Torpedoes' Fuchsia missed the 7 at the bottom right. The Tradewinds' Niki blasted it in this time, too hard as she scratched at the top left to give Fuchsia the win that tied the series at 1. Fuchsia found her groove in game 3 and finished off with a five-ball run-out on the second turn after Niki couldn't stake out her offense. Fuchsia won the series 2-1 and will visit Central Warriors veteran Mr. Snowman in the bracket quarterfinals.

IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Gizmo v. Dani. The 200th series of the round is in 12-ball with the red cue. Viewpoint Sound's Dani made a four-ball run on her first turn in game 1, quickly putting North Modernistic's Gizmo behind. Dani was patient and good at positioning to get the win, going up 1-0 in the series. The Meteors' Dani didn't have a positional advantage late in game 2, but she thought she could get through defense set by the Nighthawks' Gizmo. Dani ended up yielding a wild-card ball and leaving Gizmo with great positioning on his last shot, which he made for the win to tie the series at 1. Gizmo held the lead for most of game 3, but he couldn't corral his last ball at the top left. Dani surged with a four-ball run and a pair on consecutive turns to nab the win and 2-1 series win. Dani is through to the bracket quarterfinals.

IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Gizmo v. Daisy. The host's doubleheader ends with the blue cue in 13-ball. North Modernistic's Gizmo came very close to the game 1 win after a hot start, but he missed his kick on the 8 toward the top left. Modernistic's Daisy had just enough time to execute a three-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Nighthawks' Gizmo again refused to go quietly in game 2, outplaying the Union's Daisy at just about every turn. Gizmo's strong play was enough for the win, tying the series at 1 with room to spare as Daisy was still out of position late. Gizmo kept the offense flying through game 3, easily beating Daisy, who was plagued by errors. Gizmo won this series 2-1 and will host again in the bracket quarterfinals.

IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Cheddar v. Celestia. The venue tripleheader closes with the silver cue's last appearance today, playing Accuracy. Oceanside's Celestia had a couple of fades in game 1, the latter being just enough for North Modernistic's Cheddar to hold onto the lead for a 3-4 win. Cheddar leads the series 1-0. Game 2 was pretty similar to the one before, but with a little more sharpness in play. The Nighthawks' Cheddar stayed even with the Waves' Celestia right up to the end, when Celestia missed on the last ball. Cheddar converted for a 1-2 win to secure the series at 2-0. Game 3 started with quite a bit of pace, but Cheddar would drop off slightly. Celestia was nearly perfect, only missing on the last ball in her 1-2 win to avoid the sweep. Cheddar's 2-1 series win sees her into the bracket quarterfinals. This was Cheddar's 100th unique opponent.

Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Acorn v. Brownie. The purple cue cycles in for Rotation. Royal's Brownie pulled ahead relatively quickly in game 1, and while Lighton's Acorn used a four-ball run to catch up, he wouldn't get the result. Brownie held him off late for an 8-6 win and 1-0 series lead. The Prestige's Acorn pulled no punches in game 2, twice knocking in double-pots during an eight-ball run-out for the 8-0 win over the Crowns' Brownie. The stunning burst of offense helped Acorn tie the series at 1. Game 3 saw Brownie jump out to a lead in the middle, but it wasn't particularly strong for her. Acorn charged back on a four-ball run-out to get the 8-4 win, which in turn gave him a 2-1 series win. Acorn is set to host Eastside Sharks captain Nightfur in the bracket quarterfinals.

Samsung Arena, Whitewater: Katharine v. Salmo. The host gets a second appearance today, using the purple cue in 12-ball. Whitewater's Katharine seemed to have all the pieces in place in game 1, and even a late wild-card ball came her way, but she couldn't execute. Diamond's Salmo instead picked up a steady win for the 1-0 series lead in this latest edition of the Bloodbath derby. The Gems' Salmo made two of each in game 2, including a double-pot of solids to the bottom left. He chose stripes, but the Shores' Katharine had little trouble catching up on offense and getting the win a few turns later, which tied the series at 1. Katharine would yield a wild-card ball late in game 3, but she already had a fair amount of control over Salmo. The visitor Salmo failed to catch up, and Katharine earned the win with a shot at the bottom side to win the series 2-1. Katharine will host Freedom Cascades captain Stinky in the bracket quarterfinals.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Graham v. Jane. Another 12-ball series uses the purple cue. Central's Graham briefly had a wild-card ball in a close game 1, but scratched to put his back on the table while also giving Stonebridge's Jane one of her own. Jane used the ensuing ball-in-hand to pick up the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Jane had an edge early in game 2, but she lost control later on with bad positioning. Jane still had a chance at the win, but her contact play wasn't strong enough to sink her last ball at the bottom left. Worse, it gave the Warriors' Graham a clear look at the bottom right for his win, tying the series at 1. Graham made both side pockets on the game 3 break, but Jane wasn't quite done yet, delivering a five-ball run soon after. It wasn't enough, as Graham made his last two shots and got the win for a 2-1 series win. Graham will visit Freedom Cascades veteran Stripes in the bracket quarterfinals.

Nissan Hall, Infinity: Blaze v. Yekaterina. The blue cue gets a turn in Accuracy here. Infinity's Blaze had one of the worst game 1 efforts seen in Accuracy, missing about as often as he made. Victoria's Yekaterina didn't give him any mercy, winning 1-7 in a lopsided battle that put her ahead 1-0 in the series. The Torpedoes' Blaze improved a bit in game 2, but not nearly enough to make an impact. It was close until he missed twice late, allowing the Spurs' Yekaterina to secure the series at 2-0 with a 1-4 win this time. Blaze refused to go quietly in game 3, doing enough to force overtime. On the extra rack, both players missed their first shots, but it was Blaze who missed a second time. Yekaterina won 3-4 and swept the series 3-0, keeping her road-bound bid alive into the bracket quarterfinals.

Intel Center, Diamond: Leonardo v. Cubby. The blue cue is done after 8-ball. Diamond's Leonardo had a decent pace to his play with a run, but he couldn't get the finish in game 1. Web City's Cubby blasted a three-ball run-out at the end for the win, taking a 1-0 series lead. The Spiders' Cubby had a five-ball run in the middle of game 2, but he wasn't able to follow it up. The Gems' Leonardo did alright from there, grabbing a three-ball run-out for the win that tied the series at 1. Leonardo had a good break, making one of each and choosing solids. Cubby struck back a bit, but faltered at the end before Leonardo carved out a win. Leonardo claimed the series at 2-1 and will host Archtown Arrows rookie Greg in the bracket quarterfinals.

Apple Center, Todavía: Easter v. Watermelon. Last year's best visits this year's breakout star in a Coastal captains' battle in 9-ball with the purple cue. Todavía's Easter had most of the early offense in game 1, but things got choppy later on. Pearl's Watermelon almost struck back, but Easter was there with a 7-9 combination to the bottom left for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Surfers' Watermelon made a feeble attempt on the 1 in what would be her only shot in game 2. That play aligned a 1-9 combination for the Stills' Easter, who made no mistakes in converting at the top left to seal the series at 2-0. Watermelon earned herself some consolation in game 3, striking the final pair of shots in a close battle that Easter couldn't get the upper hand in. Easter won the series 2-1 and will host another Coastal rival, the Pacific Volcanoes' Twinkie I, in the bracket quarterfinals.

Tournament play crosses the middle of the Second Round today. Leading off...

Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Shiny v. Stinky. The blue cue gets the start in 10-ball today. Stinky managed a three-ball run in game 3 as he showed a little comfort, but Shiny answered on a four-ball run-out with a bank of the 10 to the top right to complete the series sweep. Shiny's 3-0 result sends her to the bracket quarterfinals.

HP Field Events Center, Midland: Chicky Phil v. Maggie. The green cue is next up, playing Accuracy. Midland's Chicky Phil made a ball on the break in game 1 and held the lead over Modernistic's Maggie during a tough middle. Maggie scratched at the end, giving Chicky Phil a 2-4 win and 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Chicky Phil suffered an early error and a scratch in game 2, and he never recovered from that damage. The Union's Maggie held the line well and earned a 2-5 win, tying the series at 1. Chicky Phil stayed perfect deep into game 3, but a pair of misses in quick succession let Maggie escape with a 1-2 win and 2-1 series win. Maggie heads to a hosting position in the bracket quarterfinals.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Oreo v. Leandra. The silver cue takes a turn in Rotation. Terrace City's Oreo ripped a five-ball run from the break and then held off Tysini's Leandra easily to finish game 1 with an 8-1 win. Oreo leads the series 1-0. The Hummingbirds' Leandra got better in game 2, using a four-ball run and a three-ball run to get on the edge of victory. The Knights' Oreo shot back on a five-ball run, but Leandra was able to make the 13 for an 8-6 win to tie the series at 1. Game 3 saw both players put in a good effort, but it was Oreo who surged at the end to grab an 8-5 win over Leandra. Oreo won the series 2-1 and will be a visitor in her bracket quarterfinals appearance.

Sony Center, Queens: Briana v. Cobalt. The official midpoint of the round comes after this 8-ball series with the blue cue. Queens' Briana weathered a bit of offense from Viewpoint Sound's Cobalt early in game 1. Briana's counterattacks were crisp and quickly earned her the win for a 1-0 lead in the series. The Flames' Briana found an early five-ball run on solids in game 2. The Meteors' Cobalt would put in a strong effort to catch up, only falling a bit short as Briana made the 8 to the top right when Cobalt had one ball left on the table. Briana secured the series at 2-0 with the win. Cobalt had a good advantage early in game 3, but Briana's defense bought her time, and she finished with a four-ball run-out. Briana swept the series 3-0 and will host Pearl Surfers veteran Boots in the bracket quarterfinals.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Misty v. Jennifer. Big Urban rivals meet in Rotation with the silver cue. Westside's Misty grabbed the lead early in game 1 and held Terrace City's Jennifer back by a couple of shots at virtually all times. Misty was able to maintain that advantage for an 8-4 win and 1-0 series lead. The Knights' Jennifer established a lead with a four-ball run in game 2. The Rockers' Misty struggled to get much going on offense, and Jennifer was able to take an 8-2 win, tying the series at 1 game apiece. Game 3 featured some poor offense early on. Jennifer got more aggressive while Misty tried to apply a gentle touch to her shots. Jennifer's approach paid off with an 8-2 win for the 2-1 series win. Jennifer will advance to the bracket quarterfinals.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Chimpy v. Smudge. The venue doubleheader ends with the red cue in 8-ball. Westside's Chimpy suffered a couple of scratches in game 1, but Infinity's Smudge was slow on the 8. Chimpy had enough time to cover his mistakes and snag the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Torpedoes' Smudge had too many scratches in game 2, and unlike the Rockers' Chimpy, Smudge wasn't able to overcome those struggles. Chimpy didn't have much of a lead this time, but he earned the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Smudge came very close to a comeback in game 3 with a late four-ball run, but she left the 8 short of the top right. Chimpy tapped it down to finish the 3-0 series sweep that sets him up to host the North Modernistic Nighthawks' Lionel in the bracket quarterfinals.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Noelle v. Lize. The red cue stays up for Accuracy. The start of game 1 wasn't complimentary to anyone, but it quickly stabilized. Southridge's Lize fell out of the long tie, and Central's Noelle held her ground to earn a 1-2 win for the 1-0 series lead. The Warriors' Noelle tried to hang on in a scoreless game, but she eventually succumbed to poorer positioning. The Defenders' Lize continued to pressure Noelle, baiting another miss as Lize won 0-2 to tie the series at 1. Noelle quickly gained control of positioning in game 3, and she wouldn't let down at any point. Lize completely unraveled as Noelle won 0-7, taking the series 2-1. Noelle is set to host again in the bracket quarterfinals.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: Nibbles v. Omari. Two new members of the Spiders clash in Rotation with the silver cue. Omari set the tone in game 1 with a three-ball run, but he ran out of steam a little too soon. Nibbles picked up the slack nicely with six balls over his last two turns for an 8-6 win, which gave Nibbles a 1-0 series lead. Omari again used a three-ball run early in game 2, but Nibbles answered with a four-ball run and a three-ball run-out to complete this win at 8-4. Nibbles' dominant stretch of offense sealed the series in his favor at 2-0. Omari put up a good battle in game 3, but again fell short. His miss on the 12 was cleaned up by Nibbles, who then put the 15 in the top right for an 8-7 win and 3-0 series sweep. Nibbles will host the Terrace City Knights' Jennifer in the bracket quarterfinals.

Apple Center, Todavía: Ruby v. Misty. The visitor's second series of the day is in 13-ball with the blue cue. Todavía's Ruby made one of each on the game 1 break and elected to play stripes. She quickly built a lead and had plenty of time to spare at the end with Westside's Misty far out of position for the side pockets. Ruby got the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Rockers' Misty held a lead for much of game 2, but she was slow to attack near the end. The Stills' Ruby kicked it into gear, shrugging off a foul to end with a three-ball run-out for the win. Ruby sealed the series at 2-0. Ruby made one of each again on the break in game 3, but she chose solids and then proceeded to make another two stripes during the game. Misty had little work to do to earn this win and still needed quite some time to finish it. Ruby settled for a 2-1 series win to earn the right to host the Capital City Sharpshooters' Sprinkles in the bracket quarterfinals.

Toyota Arena, Freedom: Andrew v. Mario. The green cue exits the day with a 7-ball series. The offense took some time to arrive, but Freedom's Andrew opened it up with a five-ball run-out to go up 1-0 in the series as Queens' Mario faltered. The Cascades' Andrew failed to duplicate the effort in game 2, taking a three-ball run early on. At the end, the Flames' Mario had a three-ball run-out after Andrew botched a play on the 5. Mario's victory tied the series at 1. Mario had a surprising win in game 3, threading the 7 between the 4 and 6 to the top left on the break. The stunning shot gave Mario a 2-1 series win over Andrew, and the former will host Capital City Sharpshooters veteran Missy in the bracket quarterfinals.

UPS Hall, Maplewood: Marissa v. Sugar. Another 7-ball series sees the silver cue depart for the day. Tysini's Sugar opened the offense with a three-ball run in game 1, but Maplewood's Marissa countered on a four-ball run-out capped by a long blast on the 7 to the bottom left. Marissa holds a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 went at a slower pace, as the Hummingbirds' Sugar struggled a bit more on offense. The Lumberjacks' Marissa waited patiently, then struck a three-ball run-out for the win that clinched the series at 2-0. Marissa made a ball on the break in game 3, but this one would get away from her. Sugar potted a three-ball run-out, finishing with a deflection off the 6 to tap the 7 in at the bottom right. Marissa's 2-1 series win puts her on the road versus the North Modernistic Nighthawks' Cheddar in the bracket quarterfinals.

Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Sally v. Twinkie I. Back in Rotation, the red cue gets a turn. Archtown's Sally took the early lead in game 1 and refused to let go. Pacific's Twinkie I had a mid-game challenge, but Sally pulled away and got an 8-5 win for the 1-0 series lead. The Volcanoes' Twinkie I tried to keep things close in game 2, but she didn't get many clear looks later on. The Arrows' Sally was able to piece together an 8-4 win this time, securing the series at 2-0. Sally pulled out to a big lead in game 3 with five balls over two turns early on. Twinkie I fired back and grabbed the lead, then outplayed Sally late for an 8-6 win to avoid the sweep. Sally's 2-1 series win sets her up to host North Modernistic Nighthawks star Gal in the bracket quarterfinals.

Cisco Arena, Tysini: Sarah v. Wild Thing. The red cue finishes after a 15-ball series. Tysini's Sarah did well early in game 1, then faded a bit toward the end. Stonebridge's Wild Thing had a good amount of momentum before missing the 15, which Sarah tapped in at the bottom right for the win. Sarah holds a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 wasn't the best showing for either player, as they each appeared to run out of steam well before the end. The Wolves' Wild Thing had a critical error on the 13, allowing Sarah to step up for a three-ball run-out for the win. Sarah sealed the series at 2-0. Sarah couldn't finish off the sweep, struggling late in game 3 despite her positive start. Wild Thing nailed a pair of shots at the end to get his lone win in Sarah's 2-1 series win, which sends her to the bracket quarterfinals to host Viewpoint Sound Meteors captain Hoot.

UPS Hall, Maplewood: Summer v. Gradley. The blue cue's finale today comes in Accuracy. A fortunate deflection in the middle of game 1 kept Maplewood's Summer clean just a little longer, and Boston's Gradley missed on the next turn. That one point became valuable when Summer finished with a 3-4 win to go ahead 1-0 in the series. The Lumberjacks' Summer had another good start to game 2, but her ending was less pleasant this time. The Swifts' Gradley didn't fall apart, hanging onto a 1-2 lead at the end for his win to tie the series at 1. Game 3 saw a little nervousness pop up on both sides early on. Gradley faltered further with a scratch, and Summer didn't let him back in, grabbing a 2-3 win to take the series 2-1. Summer is locked into a road appearance in the bracket quarterfinals.

Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Sally v. Chicky Phil. Both players get a second outing today, using the purple cue in 12-ball. Archtown's Sally gave away wild-card balls at the start and near the end of game 1, making it a much easier effort for Midland's Chicky Phil. Persistence at the top side confirmed Chicky Phil's win and 1-0 series lead. Game 2 initially saw miscues plague Sally, but she was able to sink both her own and Chicky Phil's last ball at the bottom right at the same time. This forced a replay, but Sally was worse this time. The Predators' Chicky Phil slowly and surely picked up the win to seal the series at 2-0. Chicky Phil had most of the offense in game 3, but it wasn't fast enough, as Sally struck back on a run of her own late. Sally got the win, and Chicky Phil settled for a 2-1 series win to earn his hosting position in the bracket quarterfinals.

HP Field Events Center, Midland: Americus v. Goatee. The purple cue ends the day with 10-ball. Midland's Americus had a bit of a scratching problem in game 1, leading to Westside's Goatee picking up a five-ball run and the final pair on consecutive turns. Goatee holds a 1-0 series lead. The Rockers' Goatee couldn't control the offense as well in game 2. Her three-ball run left things aligned well enough for the Predators' Americus to convert a four-ball run-out for the win. This tied the series at 1. Goatee had a failed attempt on the 4 that proved critical, as Americus made the 4-10 combination with some fortunate spin on the next shot. Americus won the series 2-1 and will host the Golden Pilots' Max in the bracket quarterfinals.

Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Mams v. Puff I. The red cue gets the first look today, playing in Rotation. Southern's Mams had a four-ball run early in game 1, only to be upstaged by Modernistic's Puff I on a five-ball run. Mams recovered a three-ball run for the lead and wound up with an 8-5 win on the next turn to give her a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 was much more of a choppy battle at first, which saw the Union's Puff I hold a small lead. The Monarchs' Mams surged ahead on a four-ball run, but Puff I fired back on a three-ball run-out to win 8-7, tying the series at 1. Puff I had a little offense early in game 3, but she never got a chance to respond to a six-ball run-out from Mams in the host's 8-2 win. Mams won the series 2-1 and will host Infinity Torpedoes newcomer Fuchsia in the bracket quarterfinals.

Toyota Arena, Freedom: Nikolai v. Fluffina. The purple cue draws in for 8-ball between veterans. Infinity's Fluffina had most of the offense early in game 1, but it was Freedom's Nikolai who surged with six balls over his last three turns. Fluffina fell flat and Nikolai marched to the win for a 1-0 series lead. The offense came quickly in game 2, with the Cascades' Nikolai making a six-ball run before the Torpedoes' Fluffina answered with a seven-ball run-out. That strong counterattack gave Fluffina the win and tied the series at 1. Nikolai won game 3 on a three-ball run-out after a close battle with Fluffina. This gave Nikolai the 2-1 series win, and he'll play on into the bracket quarterfinals.

Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Strut v. Rosemary. In 15-ball, the blue cue gets a turn. Golden's Strut had a slight edge on offense early in game 1, then pounded a five-ball run-out with a narrow make on the 11 at the bottom right to set up his 13-15 combination to the same place. Commerce's Rosemary was outmatched as Strut took the 1-0 series lead. The Pilots' Strut didn't find much joy in game 2, a three-ball run early on accounting for all of his offense. The Tradewinds' Rosemary used a six-ball run, a pair, and a four-ball run-out to get this win, tying the series at 1. Rosemary wasn't able to dominate the offense in game 3, instead scrapping back and forth with Strut. That plan failed when Strut won on a three-ball run-out after Rosemary fouled. A 2-1 series win allows Strut to host Whitewater Shores veteran Twinkie III in the bracket quarterfinals.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Mr. Snowman v. Puff III. A Northeastern derby uses the purple cue for 7-ball. Central's Mr. Snowman wasn't remarkable in game 1, but he won with a 6-7 combination to the top right from a tough angle, taking the 1-0 series lead over Everton's Puff III. The Eagles' Puff III tried to provide more offense in game 2, but it backfired when she scratched after potting the 6. The Warriors' Mr. Snowman cleaned up the close battle with the 7 going to the bottom side from ball-in-hand, clinching the series in his favor at 2-0. Puff III picked up a three-ball run from ball-in-hand after a scratch by Mr. Snowman, but Puff III missed the 7. Mr. Snowman made it to complete a 3-0 series sweep that sends him to the bracket quarterfinals.

Diamond's Shadow made no effort to disguise his frustration early in game 1, and while he would make a three-ball run later, Southern's Mams answered with a pair to take the win. Mams holds a 1-0 series lead. The Monarchs' Mams pushed a four-ball run on her second turn in game 2, but missed the 5 narrowly. The Gems' Shadow bounced back with a hard-hitting three-ball run-out, including a bank of the 7 to the bottom left, to tie the series at 1. Shadow ripped a five-ball run on his second turn, only to miss the 6 with a rattle. Mams made the final pair for the win to take the series 2-1, earning her place in the bracket quarterfinals.

Kraft Forum, Royal: Sunshine v. Puff III. Club-mates battle in Rotation with the purple cue. Royal's Sunshine displayed a couple of rookie moments in game 1, but his offense was fairly strong. Everton's Puff III pulled ahead late and fell short, allowing Sunshine to win 8-7 on a three-ball run-out for the 1-0 series lead. The Crowns' Sunshine was a little less stable on offense in game 2, and the Eagles' Puff III exploited that easily with a steady stream of small offense. Puff III wound up winning 8-4 to tie the series at 1. Puff III had a poor break in game 3, but it didn't slow down Sunshine at all, as he worked a five-ball run very early on. Sunshine finished with an 8-2 win to take the series 2-1, and he'll host Pearl Surfers veteran Bright in the bracket quarterfinals.

HP Field Events Center, Midland: Kitty v. Roxy. The silver cue cycles back in for 13-ball. Midland's Kitty opened game 1 on a four-ball run, a massive advantage. Freedom's Roxy tried to keep up, but she only sank a single ball in the game, and Kitty walked away with a 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Kitty made a three-ball run on solids from the game 2 break despite some collateral damage. The Cascades' Roxy also had a three-ball run, but Kitty bounced back on a four-ball run-out, banking the 8 to the top side to seal the series at 2-0. Kitty remained unchallenged in game 3, as Roxy made a couple of shots in the middle, but only after Kitty's opening four-ball run. Kitty swept the series 3-0 and will host again in the bracket quarterfinals. Kitty earned her first kill of the year, as Roxy is the third player to exit the competition.

Ford Forum, Pronger: Spot v. Hershey. Eastern Hills rivals are set to meet in 15-ball with the green cue. Stonebridge's Hershey had a four-ball run in the middle of game 1, but he peaked too early. His finish was sloppy, and Pronger's Spot battled just enough to snag the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Tridents' Spot looked pretty good with a six-ball run in game 2, but that was again too soon to make a difference. The Wolves' Hershey won on a three-ball run-out two turns later, getting the win to tie the series at 1. Spot didn't have much going his way in game 3, and that showed in the end result, as Hershey controlled the pace and ultimately made a 13-15 combination to the top left for the win. Hershey won the series 2-1 and will be a host in the bracket quarterfinals.

Cisco Arena, Tysini: Sugar v. Kitty. The visitor's second series today comes in 15-ball with the silver cue. Midland's Kitty didn't excel at first in game 1 as Tysini's Sugar held her ground early. Kitty broke free later with a five-ball run, and won with a three-ball run-out on her next turn to go ahead 1-0 in the series. The Predators' Kitty didn't sustain that offense into game 2, where the Hummingbirds' Sugar supplied a four-ball run and a three-ball run. The ending was a little tense, but Sugar took the win to tie the series at 1. Kitty played hard in an attempt to close out game 3, but she got a little shaky, and Sugar struck for a three-ball run-out to get the win. Sugar won the series 2-1 and will play in the bracket quarterfinals.

IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Gal v. Jake. The red cue returns for Rotation. North Modernistic's Gal needed some time to ignite her offense, but she did so with a five-ball run. Royal's Jake never answered it, and Gal cruised to an 8-0 win for the 1-0 series lead. The Nighthawks' Gal had a much tougher time with offense in game 2, and it showed as she trailed for most of the game. When she caught up to the Crowns' Jake, he slipped away with a pair for the 8-6 win to tie the series at 1 game apiece. Jake tried to establish himself early in game 3, but Gal pulled out to a lead. Jake was pushing late with a three-ball run to answer Gal's big mid-game run before Gal closed him off for an 8-6 win. Gal won the series 2-1 and will play a visiting role in the bracket quarterfinals.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Jennifer v. Puff II. The blue cue will be on hand for 9-ball. Terrace City's Jennifer won game 1 on her second turn, working a four-ball run-out that ended with a deflection off the 5 to push the 9 to the top left. She leads Boston's Puff II 1-0 in the series. Game 2 went the distance, as the Knights' Jennifer stumbled a bit early on. The Swifts' Puff II failed to gain momentum from that, and Jennifer recovered with another four-ball run-out for the win. This secured the series at 2-0 for Jennifer. After a few empty turns early on, Puff II ran the table in game 3 to get her lone win of the series. Jennifer advanced to a road position in the bracket quarterfinals on a 2-1 series win.

Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Max v. Pauline. Southeastern rivals battle in 8-ball with the red cue. Despite a delay in play in game 1, Golden's Max retained momentum to make his last pair of shots after the delay. He also held off a furious comeback effort from Queens' Pauline, giving Max the 1-0 series lead. The Pilots' Max had a four-ball run and a three-ball run in game 2, but still nearly faltered too much at the end. The Flames' Pauline again pressed hard, only for Max to escape with the win, this time sealing the series at 2-0. Pauline played her best in game 3, but she was a little too creative at the end, sinking the last solid and the 8 on the same shot. This gifted away the last win, allowing Max to sweep the series 3-0 en route to a visiting role in the bracket quarterfinals.

Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Niki v. Ms. Kitty. The green cue's last outing today is in 12-ball. Commerce's Niki took solids from the break and even received a wild-card ball later in game 1 as Pacific's Ms. Kitty made a feeble comeback effort. Niki added a pair at the end for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Tradewinds' Niki had an even easier time in game 2, making a three-ball run on each of her two turns to beat the Volcanoes' Ms. Kitty again. Niki's shutout win clinched the series for her at 2-0. Game 3 was more of the same, although Ms. Kitty did knock in a four-ball run to make things interesting. Niki still fought it off with a three-ball run-out to finish her 3-0 series sweep. Niki will visit the Golden Pilots' Max in the bracket quarterfinals.

Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Strut v. Brownie. The host's second series today uses the silver cue in 9-ball. Golden's Strut had a brilliant six-ball run in game 1, but he missed on the 9 three times. Royal's Brownie would make it on her third try for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Pilots' Strut retained the majority of possession in game 2, especially by making the last five balls on two separate turns. His winning burst was a three-ball run-out, putting him into a 1-1 tied series against the Crowns' Brownie. Strut brought his best effort in game 3, working a four-ball run at each end of the game to easily wallop Brownie. Strut won the series 2-1 to advance to the bracket quarterfinals.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Quincy v. Wario. The blue cue draws in for 7-ball in its last set of the day. Terrace City's Quincy managed a three-ball run in game 1, but he missed on the 6. Southridge's Wario immediately followed that with a pair of shots for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Wario didn't let the Knights' Quincy get a chance at redemption. Wario cranked his game 2 break to sink the 7 at the top side, instantly sealing the series at 2-0 with the victory. Wario made a mental mistake as he shot the 3 with the 2 still on the table. Quincy only got a ball from ball-in-hand, and Wario won with a three-ball run-out to complete the 3-0 series sweep. Wario will visit the Everton Eagles' Vincent in a big series in the bracket quarterfinals.

IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Peach v. Lionel. A pair of Nighthawks end the day with the purple cue in 10-ball. Lionel found some happiness early in game 1, but he couldn't sustain the offense. The 10 proved elusive until Peach slammed it to the top right for the 1-0 series lead. Game 2 was more of the same, with Peach pushing a four-ball run before a narrow miss on the 9 at the bottom right. Lionel bounced back to make the last pair, earning a win to tie the series at 1. Game 3 saw Peach stumble a bit early on. She remained confident, but Lionel didn't let her in as he charged to victory on a six-ball run-out. Lionel won the series 2-1 and earned a place in the bracket quarterfinals. This was Lionel's 100th unique opponent.

FedEx Arena, Eastside: Lily v. Niki. The red cue gets the first look today, playing 9-ball. Eastside's Lily picked up a four-ball run-out on her second turn, a 4-9 combination to the bottom left earning the win and 1-0 series lead after Commerce's Niki had a scratch on her only shot in game 1. The offense remained hard to find early in game 2, especially for the Tradewinds' Niki. Eventually, the Sharks' Lily flipped the switch to push a seven-ball run-out for the win and 2-0 lead in the series. Lily had a three-ball run from the break and another pair later, but Niki's two pairs of shots were enough for her to get the win and avoid the sweep. Lily won the series 2-1 to earn a hosting position in the bracket quarterfinals.

Toyota Arena, Freedom: Nikolai v. Chimpy. Another 9-ball series uses the silver cue. Freedom's Nikolai made a pair on the game 1 break, but the offense fell apart after that on both sides. Westside's Chimpy would eventually take the final pair for the win and 1-0 series lead. Fortune smiled on the Cascades' Nikolai in a close game 2, as his attempt on the 9 was a miss at the top right that deflected off three rails and into the bottom side for the win. He tied the series at 1 against the Rockers' Chimpy. In game 3, Nikolai found a four-ball run, but it was Chimpy on the counterattack for the win with a three-ball run-out. Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Greg v. Buddy. Rookies meet in 7-ball with the purple cue. Archtown's Greg starts flat in game 1, leaving plenty of room for Atlantic's Buddy to carve out a six-ball run-out. Buddy was a little lucky to kick the 6 to the bottom side, which set him up for the winning shot and 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Buddy scratched on the game 2 break, but the Arrows' Greg couldn't get any offense going this time. Buddy then supplied a five-ball run-out for this win, clinching the series at 2-0. Buddy couldn't get anything on the game 3 break, and an offhand 1-7 combination shot ended up in the top right on Greg's first turn. The surprise win for Greg denied Buddy a sweep, instead making it a 2-1 series win to send Buddy to Victoria to face Spurs captain Spice in the bracket quarterfinals.

IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Gal v. Hoot. The red cue cycles in for a 15-ball series. North Modernistic's Gal had her best play early in game 1, while Viewpoint Sound's Hoot gained strength toward the end. Hoot tried to pinch the 15 to the top left, but his miss allowed Gal to grab the win and 1-0 series lead with a tap-in. Play loosened up a bit in game 2, with both players finding some joy on runs. The Nighthawks' Gal remained strong late, but it was the Meteors' Hoot who put the 15 down at the top right on his second attempt. Hoot's win tied the series at 1, a fair mark so far. Gal had a four-ball run in the middle of game 3, but she couldn't follow it up at the end, and Hoot buried the last pair of shots to get the win. Hoot took the series 2-1 and will remain on the road in the bracket quarterfinals.

Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Patches v. Rocky. The red cue's last series today is in Accuracy. Boston's Patches faltered in the middle of game 1, while Oceanside's Rocky was nearly perfect until the end. Patches then missed on the last ball, and Rocky won 1-2 for the 1-0 series lead. The Waves' Rocky refused to open the door in game 2, posting a perfect effort in a 0-5 win that saw the Swifts' Patches struggle from the start. With the win, Rocky secured the series at 2-0. Rocky fell apart in game 3, his misses piling up rapidly while Patches was able to secure the win and then fade to a 3-6 score. Rocky won the series 2-1 and will play in the bracket quarterfinals.

Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Sally v. Ice Cream. The blue cue comes in for another Accuracy set. Boston's Ice Cream got herself just a bit too far behind in game 1, as Archtown's Sally was able to take a late miss and still hang on for a 2-3 win. Sally leads the series 1-0. A close battle in game 2 ultimately required overtime, as the Arrows' Sally failed to convert the final ball. In overtime, it took awhile for either player to slip up, and it was Sally who did so, allowing the Swifts' Ice Cream to win 2-3, tying the series at 1. Sally had the first miss in game 3, but she kept things close and capitalized on Ice Cream's miss on the final ball. Sally won 2-3 and took the series 2-1 to get into the bracket quarterfinals.

Toyota Arena, Freedom: Stripes v. Cowzart. Using the purple cue, it's time for 12-ball. Freedom's Stripes had a modest start to game 1, but Pacific's Cowzart was a little cleaner on positioning. Cowzart worked left to right efficiently and won with a late pair to go ahead 1-0 in the series. The Cascades' Stripes had a fairly strong appearance in game 2, working her way to a win on a three-ball run-out after the Volcanoes' Cowzart overfilled at the bottom left. Stripes' win tied the series at 1 game apiece. Stripes was strong from the start of game 3 as well, but it appeared Cowzart had a slight edge near the end. He then gave away a wild-card ball, and the flexibility helped Stripes claim victory in the game and 2-1 series. Stripes is set to host her appearance in the bracket quarterfinals.

Google Hall, Modernistic: Maggie v. Twinkie III. Urban rivals meet in 15-ball with the blue cue. A slow start sapped the energy from both players in game 1. At the end, it was more of a choppy battle, which saw Whitewater's Twinkie III emerge with a shaky win and 1-0 series lead over Modernistic's Maggie. Offense did not improve in game 2, although the Union's Maggie was able to agonize over a missed 4-10-15 combination to the bottom left. At the end, the Shores' Twinkie III double-potted the 14 to the top left and the 15 to the bottom side for the win, sealing the series at 2-0. Twinkie III actually put forth her best offense in game 3, but it went to waste when she missed on the 14. Maggie made the final pair to get the win and dodge the sweep. Twinkie III's 2-1 series win sends her on the road again in the bracket quarterfinals.

Intel Center, Diamond: Debby v. Noelle. The blue cue stays on with a 12-ball battle. Diamond's Debby had a couple good pushes on offense in game 1, but Central's Noelle answered both, the second time coming with a pair of shots to get the win and 1-0 series lead. The Warriors' Noelle was caught out of position for most of game 2, but she did a good job of protecting the top right for as long as she could. It wasn't enough, as the Gems' Debby sank her last shot there to get the win, tying the series at 1. Debby yielded a wild-card ball to Noelle early in game 3, a massive mistake. Noelle went on a four-ball run and needed only a couple other turns to pot her last shot at the bottom right. Noelle won the series 2-1 and will travel again in the bracket quarterfinals.

Ford Forum, Pronger: Potter v. Hershey. Eastern Hills rivals play 7-ball in the blue cue's last outing today. Pronger's Potter eventually broke away with a five-ball run in game 1, but he undercut the 7 toward the bottom right. Stonebridge's Hershey cleaned it up with a tap-in for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Tridents' Potter again had a good share of offense in game 2, but he rattled the 7 out of the top right at the end this time. A steady hand helped the Wolves' Hershey tap it in for the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Hershey stepped up on offense in game 3, delivering a five-ball run-out to finish off the sweep of Potter. Hershey will head home in a visiting capacity against his Stonebridge Wolves teammate Kirstin in the bracket quarterfinals.

Kraft Forum, Royal: Kayla v. Shaggy. Captains clash in 10-ball with the silver cue. Royal's Kayla pushed the 10 near the top left on a miss in game 1. Whitewater's Shaggy tried to get a look at it but never could, and Kayla made the 3-10 combination for the win to move ahead 1-0 in the series. The Shores' Shaggy looked more confident with a four-ball run in game 2, but a chaotic finish saw her illegally pot the 8. The Crowns' Kayla took the 10 to the top left by choosing to keep possession, and that win clinched the series for Kayla at 2-0. Kayla illegally potted the 9 about halfway through game 3, and Shaggy elected to keep possession. Shaggy then posted a five-ball run-out for the win, leaving Kayla to advance to a road position in the bracket quarterfinals on a 2-1 series win.

T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Sage v. Chris. The purple cue's exit comes with a Rotation series between Southwestern foes. Victoria's Sage simply lacked offense in game 1, while Capital City's Chris was thorough in attack. Chris went virtually unchallenged in his 8-2 win to grab the 1-0 series lead. The Spurs' Sage paced the offense early in game 2. The Sharpshooters' Chris did a better job of fighting back on offense, exchanging the lead a couple of times in the middle. Sage still finished with an 8-6 win, making a late pair to tie the series at 1. Game 3 was a mix of the first two, with Sage rifling a pair of three-ball runs, only for Chris to counter at the end on a three-ball run-out for the 8-7 win. Chris took the series 2-1 and will play on the road in the bracket quarterfinals.

AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Megan v. Mr. Snowman. The silver cue is back for 13-ball. It took some time due to poor positioning and scratches, but Oceanside's Megan unleashed a four-ball run-out to win game 1. Central's Mr. Snowman was not close enough to challenge at the end of the opener. The Waves' Megan was stronger in game 2, attacking quickly to get the lead. The 8 was a little tougher to corral, but she blocked the Warriors' Mr. Snowman at the top left and he couldn't defend her. Megan got the win on a tap-in to secure the series at 2-0. Mr. Snowman tried to play some defense in game 3, but Megan was slippery and eventually picked out a bank of the 8 to the bottom side for the win. Megan swept the series 3-0 and will host Modernistic Union captain Ms. Puppy in the bracket quarterfinals.

T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Yekaterina v. Sarah. Today's top matchup also uses the silver cue for 13-ball. Victoria's Yekaterina showed no mercy from the break, clearly taking solids and using them efficiently. Tysini's Sarah had a little more offense toward the end of game 1, but Yekaterina put the 8 in the top left for the win to stake out a 1-0 series lead. The Spurs' Yekaterina seemed to navigate a tough start to game 2 well, but she lost her positional advantage later and scratched. The Hummingbirds' Sarah took over with a three-ball run and managed to defend against Yekaterina long enough to earn the win that tied the series at 1. Yekaterina had a huge lead in game 3, but it didn't matter in the end. Sarah illegally potted one of her balls, leaving Yekaterina with ball-in-hand but no clear angle. Sarah then executed a three-ball run-out at the side pockets for the win, taking the series 2-1. Sarah is off to the bracket quarterfinals.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Noelle v. Max. The silver cue keeps going in 9-ball. Central's Noelle didn't have the cleanest of starts in game 1, as Golden's Max held the early offense. Noelle then poked a 7-9 kick combination off the bottom rail and into the top left for the win, a stunning play to go up 1-0 in the series. The Pilots' Max didn't stay down for long, missing on the 1 with enough spin to sink the 9 somewhat accidentally at the top left. That remarkable shot gave Max a win to even up the series at 1 game apiece versus the Warriors' Noelle. Max dominated just about everything in game 3, with a six-ball run-out appearing to give him a win. That victory would go to Noelle after one of the longest late scratches ever. The cue dropped in the bottom side a good 15 seconds after Max's shot, and Noelle would take the 2-1 series on a fluky win. Noelle next hosts Diamond Gems veteran Leonardo in the bracket quarterfinals.

Ford Forum, Pronger: Avril v. Cowzart. The visitor's second appearance today is the finale, playing Accuracy with the silver cue. Pronger's Avril had an awful middle portion of game 1, allowing Pacific's Cowzart to fade a bit without facing consequences at the end. Cowzart picked up a 3-5 win for the 1-0 series lead. The Volcanoes' Cowzart remained very strong in game 2, taking an early lead as the Tridents' Avril struggled. Avril got better in the middle, but faded too far late, and Cowzart won 1-4 to seal the series at 2-0. Avril made a big deal of forcing overtime in game 3, and both players went deep into the extra rack. Cowzart still picked up the win, a 4-5 result to complete his 3-0 series sweep. Cowzart will visit the Swordpoint Blades' Stealth in the bracket quarterfinals.

IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Gizmo v. Dominic. The green cue gets the first look today in 10-ball. North Modernistic's Gizmo had some good moments on offense in game 1, but Southern's Dominic had a good response in the middle. Dominic would clean up the 10 at the end after Gizmo missed it, giving Dominic the 1-0 series lead. The Monarchs' Dominic appeared to have a slight advantage in game 2, but it went to waste with a late miss on the 10 at the top left. The Nighthawks' Gizmo put down a tap-in for the win to tie the series at 1. Gizmo couldn't complete his attack in game 3, allowing Dominic to strike back for a three-ball run-out at the end that gave him a 2-1 series win. Dominic is set to appear in the bracket quarterfinals.

T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Strawberry v. Kodiak. Under-the-radar players clash in 9-ball with the red cue. Victoria's Strawberry retained possession in a quick game 1, making the 8 on the break and double-potting the 2-9 combination to the bottom left just two shots later for the win. She leads 1-0 over Modernistic's Kodiak in the series. The Union's Kodiak did better in game 2; he received a total of one shot that was a miss on the 8. Strawberry had a seven-ball run from the break and a pair at the end for the win, clinching the series easily at 2-0. Strawberry had a weaker start in game 3, but bounced back at the end with a six-ball run-out to sweep Kodiak 3-0 in the series. Strawberry will be on the road in the bracket quarterfinals when she visits Queens Flames captain Crystal.

UPS Hall, Maplewood: Diddley v. Cobalt. The blue cue draws in for a 10-ball series. Viewpoint Sound's Cobalt posted a three-ball run late in game 1, but he couldn't make it stand after a miss on the 10. Maplewood's Diddley cut the winning shot to the top right to pull ahead 1-0 in the series. The Lumberjacks' Diddley controlled the offense in game 2 with a four-ball run from the break. The Meteors' Cobalt bounced back with a pair, but Diddley had two pairs at the end for the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Diddley brought around a quick finish in game 3, deflecting off the 5 to sink the 10 at the top left to cap a three-ball run-out. Diddley swept Cobalt 3-0 in the series to earn a visiting spot in the bracket quarterfinals.

AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Celestia v. Cobalt. The visitor completes a road doubleheader in 12-ball with the blue cue. Oceanside's Celestia quickly got down to her last ball in game 1, but a wild-card ball she surrendered to Viewpoint Sound's Cobalt would cost her. Cobalt worked a four-ball run-out for the win and pulled ahead 1-0 in the series. The Meteors' Cobalt tried to keep the lead in game 2, but the Waves' Celestia had a quick three-ball run in the middle. Cobalt's counterattack attempt came up short, and Celestia made a shot at the top left for the win to tie the series at 1. Celestia grabbed stripes early in game 3, and that kept Cobalt at bay near the end. Celestia's better positioning resulted in a three-ball run-out for the win and 2-1 series win that will allow her to host Pronger Tridents veteran Potter in the bracket quarterfinals.

Kraft Forum, Royal: Jake v. Bandit. Club-mates meet in 7-ball with the red cue. Royal's Jake didn't assert himself on offense in game 1 very well, leaving the door open for Swordpoint's Bandit to snag the win on a late three-ball run-out. Bandit's smart play earned him the win and 1-0 series lead. The Blades' Bandit scratched after making a pair on the game 2 break, then failed to corral the 7 after a three-ball run. The Crowns' Jake didn't have much offense, but he converted at the end for the win, tying the series at 1. Jake made a three-ball run from the break early in game 3, while Bandit answered on a four-ball run-out for the win. Bandit took the series 2-1 and will host his bracket quarterfinals appearance.

Cisco Arena, Tysini: Charli v. Bright. The purple cue gets an appearance in Rotation. Tysini's Charli quickly lost control of a sloppy start to game 1. She had a three-ball run to gain the lead, but Pearl's Bright regained the lead with aggressive shots. Bright would win 8-4 for the 1-0 series lead despite the poor performance on both sides. The Surfers' Bright established a small lead early on in game 2, and the frustrations continued to mount for the Hummingbirds' Charli. Bright would snag the win with a chaotic five-ball run-out, winning 8-1 to secure the series at 2-0. Bright faded on offense in game 3, while Charli was strong with a pair every now and then to build her offense. Charli won 8-3 this time, and Bright settled for a 2-1 series win to get into the bracket quarterfinals.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Kiwi v. Easter. The purple cue remains active for 7-ball. Terrace City's Kiwi popped off with a six-ball run to start in game 1, but she missed the 7 twice before Todavía's Easter stepped up to poach the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Stills' Easter scratched on the game 2 break, and she missed her one chance at the 7 after the Knights' Kiwi made a five-ball run. Kiwi put the 7 down on her second chance, earning the win to tie the series at 1 after having dominated the offense so far. Kiwi made a pair on the break, but a scratch ruined her performance in game 3. Easter knocked in a three-ball run-out, deflecting off the 4 to send the 7 to the top left for the win. Easter won the series 2-1 and will play in the bracket quarterfinals.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Mr. Snowman v. Easter. The visitor finishes her doubleheader in 10-ball with the blue cue. Central's Mr. Snowman showed some skill with a five-ball run in game 1, but Todavía's Easter fired back on a three-ball run-out in the end after Mr. Snowman missed the 8. The counterattack gave Easter a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 saw a little less excitement on offense, as no big runs developed. The Warriors' Mr. Snowman butchered his play on the 10, leaving it lined up for the Stills' Easter to knock down at the bottom right. Easter converted, sealing the series at 2-0. Easter wasn't particularly organized in game 3, and her shot on the 4 left the 10 near the bottom left. Mr. Snowman converted a 4-10 bank combination for the win, leaving Easter to advance to the bracket quarterfinals on a 2-1 series win. Easter will visit Midland Predators captain Shawn in the next round.

Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Twinkie I v. Chicky Phil. Another 10-ball series with the blue cue follows. Pacific's Twinkie I picked up a tight win in game 1, making a pair from ball-in-hand after Midland's Chicky Phil scratched. Twinkie I leads the series 1-0. The Volcanoes' Twinkie I had the better part of a back-and-forth battle in game 2, as the Predators' Chicky Phil faltered multiple times in the late stages. Twinkie I put the 10 away at the bottom right for the win to secure the series at 2-0. Twinkie I had a chance to win, but her momentum faded in game 3, and Chicky Phil avoided the sweep by tapping the 10 into the bottom right. Twinkie I advanced on a 2-1 series win, setting her up to host the Lighton Prestige's Spirit in the bracket quarterfinals.

Samsung Arena, Whitewater: Katharine v. Toki. The green cue's last appearance today is in 15-ball. Whitewater's Katharine showed most of the menace on offense, but a pinch on the 8 into the bottom side led to a deflected 10-15 combination at the top side to give Eastside's Toki the game 1 win. Toki leads the series 1-0. The Sharks' Toki opened game 2 on a five-ball run, but the offense slowed down dramatically after that. The Shores' Katharine tried to keep up with a later three-ball run, but it was Toki who made the 15 to the bottom side on an insurance option shot. Toki clinched the series at 2-0. Katharine seemed determined to get a win in game 3, but she blew it when the 15 went down on illegal contact after she missed hitting the 10. Toki took the series in a 3-0 sweep and will be on the road again in the bracket quarterfinals.

Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Rudolph v. Stephanie. In 8-ball, the purple cue takes a turn. Harrison's Rudolph made a four-ball run and added a pair for Southridge's Stephanie on his opening turn. That jump-start boosted Stephanie, who won on a three-ball run-out after her successful catch-up effort. Stephanie holds a 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Stephanie missed the last stripe twice in game 2, once too soft and once too hard at the top right. The Specters' Rudolph used the extra time to pick up the win with a pair of shots, tying the series at 1. Stephanie had all the offense early in game 3, but it was defense at the bottom left that bought her an extra shot on the 8, which she converted to the bottom right to beat Rudolph 2-1 in the series. Stephanie will visit Central Warriors captain Twilight in the bracket quarterfinals.

Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Solaris v. Fuchsia. The red cue cycles in for Rotation. Commerce's Solaris produced offense at the start and the end, a three-ball run each time that paced him in an 8-6 win over a resilient effort from Infinity's Fuchsia. Solaris has a 1-0 series lead. The Tradewinds' Solaris had another three-ball run to start game 2, but the Torpedoes' Fuchsia matched it immediately this time. From there, Fuchsia had control, and she marched her way to an 8-3 win, tying the series at 1 game apiece. Fuchsia took over at the start of game 3, building a huge lead. Solaris pulled all the way back with a seven-ball run, only to miss the winning shot at the top left. Fuchsia then made a quick pair to take an 8-7 win and 2-1 series win. Fuchsia will continue to play on the road in the bracket quarterfinals.

Apple Center, Todavía: Ruby v. Rosalina. The red cue's day is done after this 7-ball set. Todavía's Ruby had most of the offense in game 1, but she missed on the 7 at the bottom left. Victoria's Rosalina tapped it down for the win and pulled out to a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 was another back-and-forth battle, with the Spurs' Rosalina this time taking a critical missed contact on the 7 near the end. The Stills' Ruby was there to clean it up from ball-in-hand for the win, tying the series at 1. Ruby and Rosalina each made three-ball runs in game 3, but it was Rosalina who took the 7 to the top left on her second attempt for the win. Rosalina beat Ruby 2-1 in the series and will play in the bracket quarterfinals.

Toyota Arena, Freedom: Andrew v. Kitty. Sophomores battle in 9-ball with the purple cue. Freedom's Andrew didn't have the simplest game 1, but he delivered a three-ball run-out in the end with an 8-9 combination at the bottom left to beat Midland's Kitty. Andrew is up 1-0 in the series. The Cascades' Andrew looked a little out of sorts in game 2, but he didn't have to suffer long. The Predators' Kitty pinched a 2-9 combination to deflect off the 8 and into the bottom left for the win, tying the series quickly at 1 game apiece. Kitty kept it up with a three-ball run to start game 3, but she faded at the end. Andrew had a bad scratch, but he got the win on his next turn, deflecting off the 7 to sink the 9 at the top left. Andrew won the series 2-1 and will play in the bracket quarterfinals.

GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Wario v. Andrew. The visitor completes his doubleheader in 15-ball with the blue cue. Southridge's Wario had a bad break in game 1, but he wasn't punished too harshly by the early cluster. Freedom's Andrew carved out a nice chunk of offense on his own, but it was a four-ball run-out that lifted Wario to the win and 1-0 series lead. The Cascades' Andrew kept pushing in game 2, including a nice four-ball run just after the midpoint. The Defenders' Wario was no slouch, holding his own and finding a three-ball run-out with a bank on the 14 setting up his cut on the 15 to the bottom left. Wario clinched the series at 2-0 with this victory. Wario stepped back a bit in game 3, although one could barely tell with how well Andrew played in an ultimately consolatory victory. He had runs of four, three, and three balls for the win, while Wario takes a 2-1 series win to host Boston Swifts veteran Ice Cream in the bracket quarterfinals.

HP Field Events Center, Midland: Shawn v. Sprinkles. The day ends with 13-ball and the blue cue. Midland's Shawn came out strong in game 1, but his offense tapered off at the end. Capital City's Sprinkles pushed with a three-ball run-out to get the win after wrangling control of the game away from the host. Sprinkles is up 1-0 in the series. The Sharpshooters' Sprinkles had a few errors early in game 2, but she was a force to be reckoned with when she got in form. The Predators' Shawn made a flailing attempt at defense at the top right, but Sprinkles made a pair on her last turn for the win, securing the series at 2-0. Shawn wasn't able to finish off game 3 either, taking a lead for a bit but getting beat by a faster attack from Sprinkles. This gave Sprinkles the 3-0 series sweep, which puts her in another visiting role in the bracket quarterfinals.

The Second Round chugs along with a challenging day to kick off its second week. First up...

McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Delila v. Kirstin. The silver cue opens the day in 13-ball between Eastern Hills rivals. Atlantic's Delila did well on the break, and then went quiet for most of game 1. Stonebridge's Kirstin set herself back with two scratches, and she lost when she illegally potted the 8 after blocking her last ball. Delila's free win gave her a shaky 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Delila potted five balls over her first two turns in game 2, and the Wolves' Kirstin had absolutely no offense to challenge her. Delila had plenty of time to orchestrate this victory, clinching the series at 2-0. Game 3's pace returned to slow and weak, with Delila again holding a clear edge on offense to get the win and 3-0 series sweep over Kirstin. Delila will head to the bracket quarterfinals.

Intel Center, Diamond: Autumn v. Avril. Another 13-ball series uses the red cue as more Eastern Hills players step up. Diamond's Autumn had a slightly better time in game 1, avoiding errors while Pronger's Avril failed to make an impact in the late game. Autumn made a pair at the end for her win to take a 1-0 series lead. The Gems' Autumn had a lot of positioning work to deal with in a close game 2 battle with the Tridents' Avril. At the end, Avril had first crack at the 8 and missed to the bottom side, allowing Autumn to make the 2 and the 8 to the top side on consecutive turns for the win that sealed the series at 2-0. Avril turned in a five-ball run after Autumn suffered a scratch in game 3. Avril's two attempts on the 8 both failed, and Autumn used a pair of three-ball runs to fight back for the 3-0 series sweep. Autumn is set to travel in the bracket quarterfinals.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Twilight v. Strawberry. The blue cue comes aboard for 15-ball. Central's Twilight had a modest attack in game 1, but she went cold on the 14. Victoria's Strawberry was able to corral the final pair of shots for the win and 1-0 series lead after a close battle. Pacific's Twinkie I started a little slow in game 1, but unleashed a seven-ball run-out after Maplewood's Summer failed to grab control of the offense. Twinkie I's run put her ahead 1-0 in the series. The Volcanoes' Twinkie I struggled a bit more early in game 2, and she wasn't bailed out by a hot finish this time. The Lumberjacks' Summer ripped a five-ball run-out this time, tying the series at 1 with her win. A close battle emerged early in game 3, with both players having a legitimate claim at the series. Twinkie I capitalized when Summer missed on the 6, igniting a four-ball run-out in response. Twinkie I advanced to the bracket quarterfinals on a 2-1 series win.

Gillette Center, Swordpoint: Stealth v. Rainmane. The silver cue cycles in for Accuracy. Neither player tripped up in regulation in game 1, and it looked like overtime could be the same way until Midland's Rainmane scratched on her second shot on the extra rack. Swordpoint's Stealth took a hard-earned 0-1 win for the 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Rainmane got back on track in game 2, while the Blades' Stealth faltered early this time. Rainmane was perfect until a late scratch, but she still won 1-2 in the game, tying the series at 1 game apiece. Game 3 went deep into overtime after a shaky start on both sides evened out. With crunch time approaching, Rainmane had a miss that gave Stealth a 3-4 win for the 2-1 series win. Stealth will advance to the bracket quarterfinals.

Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Neopolitan v. Sparkles. In 13-ball, the purple cue gets a turn. Pearl's Neopolitan jumped ahead fairly early in game 1, and while Golden's Sparkles pushed late, the visitor came up short. Neopolitan put the 8 in the top left for the win to stake out a 1-0 series lead. The Surfers' Neopolitan had a good start to game 2, but she couldn't corral her last ball at the bottom left. The Pilots' Sparkles baited Neopolitan into illegal contact plays, and Sparkles eventually made three shots for the win to tie the series at 1. Neopolitan had a pair of scratches late in game 3 that took away her momentum. Sparkles was patient but strong to get the win, taking the series 2-1 and earning the right to visit Freedom Cascades sophomore Andrew in the bracket quarterfinals.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Graham v. Spot. Strong players clash in Rotation with the blue cue. Central's Graham posted a three-ball run early in game 1, but his offense didn't hold up under pressure from Pronger's Spot. By the end, Spot had pulled ahead and picked up an 8-4 win with a pair from ball-in-hand. Spot leads the series 1-0. The Warriors' Graham stepped up his game with a pair of three-ball runs in game 2, but he didn't finish it off. The Tridents' Spot was there to counterattack with a five-ball run-out for the 8-6 win to clinch the series at 2-0. Graham again found a surge of offense in the middle of game 3, but Spot was there to put out the fire with his 8-5 win. Spot swept the series 3-0 and will continue in a visiting role in the bracket quarterfinals.

AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Snuggle v. Chicky Phil. The green cue's only outing today is in Rotation. Oceanside's Snuggle provided a steady stream of offense in game 1, helping him to an easy 8-3 win over Midland's Chicky Phil, who simply couldn't keep up with the pace. The Waves' Snuggle took a different route to get to the same result in game 2, struggling at first and then turning it around for an 8-3 win as the Predators' Chicky Phil fell apart at the end. Snuggle's victory this time sealed the series at 2-0. Snuggle couldn't get going in game 3, the early deficit costing him valuable points as Chicky Phil avoided the sweep on an 8-6 win. Snuggle took the series 2-1 and will head to the bracket quarterfinals, where he hosts Whitewater Shores veteran Katharine.

Chevrolet Center, Everton: Puff III v. Sparkles. The visitor's second series today is the blue cue's exit, playing 8-ball. Golden's Sparkles made a push with a four-ball run in game 1, but Everton's Puff III held her off just long enough to claim the victory for a 1-0 series lead. The Eagles' Puff III had a two-turn surge of offense come up just short in game 2. The Pilots' Sparkles remained calm under pressure and made a pair of shots at the end to get her win, tying the series at 1. Puff III again turned up the aggression after Sparkles had an awful break. Momentum shifted back and forth, but Puff III was good enough to grab the win with a three-ball run-out to take the series 2-1. Puff III will host her appearance in the bracket quarterfinals.

Toyota Arena, Freedom: Stripes v. Americus. The red cue is up for Rotation. Freedom's Stripes put the first point on the board, but Midland's Americus had a pair of four-ball runs separated by only a few empty turns. Americus' surge of offense counted for an 8-1 win that gave her a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 was much more contested in the early stages. The Cascades' Stripes held a lead at one point, but the Predators' Americus rallied on a five-ball run-out and picked up an 8-4 win to secure the series at 2-0 in her favor. Stripes had her best attack early in game 3, taking the lead briefly before Americus launched a five-ball run. Stripes kept it close after that, but Americus completed her sweep with an 8-6 win. Americus will play in the bracket quarterfinals.

Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Leonette v. Vladimir. In 15-ball, the purple cue gets a look. Pacific's Leonette looked much stronger in game 1 with little bursts of offense early on. Maplewood's Vladimir flipped it around with his shot on the 7 pinching the 15 off the top rail to fall in the bottom left for the win. Vladimir surprisingly holds a 1-0 series lead. The Lumberjacks' Vladimir strengthened his play in game 2, taking a clear majority of the shots. He would be rewarded after the Volcanoes' Leonette scratched late, as Vladimir made the final pair to seal the series at 2-0. Vladimir kept up the quality enough in game 3 to get the win, snagging a late pair of shots after a close battle with Leonette this time. Vladimir swept the series 3-0 to advance to the bracket quarterfinals.

Google Hall, Modernistic: Puff I v. Midnight. Urban rivals collide in 9-ball with the silver cue. Westside's Midnight didn't get much offense in game 1, while Modernistic's Puff I was able to channel her frustration into a five-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. Game 2 went the other way, as the Union's Puff I struggled throughout. The Rockers' Midnight needed some time to get up to speed, but she finished on a five-ball run-out for the win. This tied the series at 1 game apiece. In game 3, Midnight tried to play strong early on, but Puff I took over by the end with five balls potted over her last two turns. Puff I won the regional rivalry 2-1 and will play in the bracket quarterfinals.

Toyota Arena, Freedom: Roxy v. Jane. The silver cue stays on for 8-ball between Eastern Hills rivals. Stonebridge's Jane led for quite some time in game 1, but she couldn't quite sink the 8 despite many opportunities. Freedom's Roxy fought all the way back and took the win instead, leading the series 1-0 with the effort. The Cascades' Roxy seemed to have an early edge in offense in game 2, but that didn't hold up this time. Choppy play eventually opened the door for the Wolves' Jane to knock in a five-ball run-out in four shots for the win, tying the series at 1. Roxy and Jane reversed their roles from game 1, as Roxy was the one with multiple misses on the 8 this time. Jane eventually caught up and earned the win with a pair of shots, taking the 2-1 series win as well. Jane will host Victoria Spurs newcomer Rosalina in the bracket quarterfinals.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: Jack v. Sierra. The purple cue's finale today is in 12-ball. Web City's Jack had more time to establish his positioning in game 1, and when he needed to make at the end, he got it. Todavía's Sierra was just a little too slow on offense as Jack took a 1-0 series lead. The Spiders' Jack went corners first in game 2 on stripes, while the Stills' Sierra picked out the sides early on. It came down to one ball left for each player, and that's when Jack had a smooth tap-in on the 11 at the bottom side for the win, securing the series at 2-0. Sierra received a wild-card ball on the break, but she wasn't fast enough on offense to make it count. Jack thundered through the rack for another win, sweeping the series 3-0 and retaining hosting rights in the bracket quarterfinals.

Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Acorn v. Dreamy. Southwestern veterans clash in Accuracy with the red cue. Game 1 went into overtime as both players faltered at various times. They also each missed their first shots in the extra rack, but it was Swordpoint's Dreamy who failed again. Lighton's Acorn scooped up a 4-5 win and took the 1-0 series lead. A much faster performance in game 2 saw the Blades' Dreamy get caught up working around a cluster. That deficit she created for herself was all the Prestige's Acorn would need to grab the 1-3 win that clinched the series at 2-0. Acorn wasn't able to duplicate that performance, but Dreamy did a good imitation of it in game 3 instead. Dreamy got this win 1-3, avoiding the sweep as Acorn punches his ticket to the bracket quarterfinals with a 2-1 series win. That's the end of Dreamy's season, the second player out so far, with Acorn earning his first kill this year.

Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Ms. Kitty v. Molly. The day ends in 10-ball between Coastal rivals using the red cue. Pacific's Ms. Kitty led the way in a competitive and quick back-and-forth with Southern's Molly. Ms. Kitty got a three-ball run, which Molly answered with a pair and a miss on the 10 before Ms. Kitty won at the top right for the 1-0 series lead. The Monarchs' Molly continued to show energy in game 2, including a three-ball run that ended with an illegally potted ball. She scrapped another turn near the end before the Volcanoes' Ms. Kitty potted the final pair to seal the series at 2-0. Ms. Kitty saved the best effort for last, winning game 3 on a massive seven-ball run-out to sweep Molly 3-0 in the series. Ms. Kitty heads to the bracket quarterfinals.
