Starbucks Cup, Archtown: The Arrows have the first home game this week, welcoming the Surfers. Sally will sit for the hosts this time, while the visitors have Beth on the bench. Boots carved out 929 for Pearl right at the start of the game, giving her side a massive lead right from the start. Ruby picked up 304 in lead off for Archtown, pulling back about one-third of the damage. Watermelon got beat on a deflected offering, ending with a poor 98 for the Surfers as the ball jumped right over her bat. Sleepy B. answered with 167 for the Arrows, wasting the chance to pull them closer to meeting the deficit. Neopolitan slugged 1420 for Pearl in response, cementing their lead with an excellent appearance. Dusky faltered with only 218 for Archtown, unable to make much of a counterattack. Bright kept it simple with 215 for the Surfers this time, icing their offense at 2662. Wild Thing tried to make a save on his backhand, but he ended up hitting it out of play to end at 117, giving the Arrows a loss at 806. Pearl grabbed an easy win, rising to 16-16, while Archtown is down to 9-21.

Google Pitch at Union Ground, Modernistic: Wild Thing will be on the bench for the Arrows to complete their doubleheader, while the hosts have Daisy sitting this time. Sally couldn't take both a high and a low offering, getting split as she ended with 96 for Archtown. Ms. Puppy didn't get a great turn for Modernistic in response, taking a modest 256 for a small lead. Ruby had a more productive 439 for the Arrows, covering the deficit with her good turn. Puff I had an ugly 79 for the Union on her turn, causing them to fall behind halfway through the game. Sleepy B. couldn't control a fast offering, but she ended with a strong 626 for Archtown, extending their lead nicely with the effort. Kodiak shot back with 688 for Modernistic, cutting into the deficit slightly with his performance. Dusky followed up with 710 for the Arrows, boosting their lead once more to a final score of 1871. Chimpy couldn't pull off a comeback, ending with a weak 192 for the Union, leaving them at 1215 in the loss. Archtown bounces back to 10-21, while Modernistic falls to 12-23 in the loss.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: These teams meet twice in two weeks, with Dewey sitting for the Waves, while Brownie is on the bench for the Hummingbirds in their fourth of an eight-game home stand. Snuggle tried to flick a spinning ball, but the play failed with him ending at a meager 72 for Oceanside. Princess answered with 712 for Tysini, a fantastic turn from the captain putting the hosts well ahead. Celestia didn't let the hosts go unchallenged, firing back with 802 to cover the deficit for the Waves. Leandra countered with 663 for the Hummingbirds, restoring a smaller lead at the midway mark. Josie answered with 743 for Oceanside, keeping their opponents honest with another big outing. Charli took a step back with 456 for Tysini, their lead growing weaker with a player each to go. Jason V. cranked 704 for the Waves on the final turn, forcing the hosts to reply to the visitors' final score of 2321. Paps failed with a pathetic 16 for the Hummingbirds, leaving them at only 1847. Oceanside's persistence takes them to 17-16, while dropping Tysini out of the top-four at 15-13 now.

IBM Nighthawks Nest, North Modernistic: The Nighthawks have Cheddar on the bench for general rest, while the Pirates hope they can nab a road win with Max sitting out. Delila knocked 630 on the opening turn for Atlantic, a big attack to give the visitors a healthy offense. Peach accepted 647 for North Modernistic from a technical error, as she rejected the replay offer to take the small lead. Isabella tried to settle a ball on her backhand for the Pirates, but it slipped and ended her turn at 336. Gal fired back with 302 for the Nighthawks, unable to retain the lead in a close game. Steven got beat on the same play as Isabella, falling at 96 for Atlantic as their lead weakens drastically. B. Chapman went the other way on offense, smacking 832 to give North Modernistic a supple lead. Klaus couldn't fight back with 106 for the Pirates, as they lost with a final score of 1168. Luigi capped the Nighthawks win with 384, giving them a total of 2165. North Modernistic is finding their groove at home, rising to 10-21, while Atlantic sinks down to 16-14.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The Hummingbirds' fifth of eight straight at home is against the Southwestern rival Torpedoes, the first of two meetings this week. Smudge sits for the visitors, while Paps is on the bench for the hosts. Fluffina could have had a better opener for Infinity, falling at 112 in a poor start. Princess answered with a much stronger 644 for Tysini, giving them the initial lead. Solaris tried to make a play on his backhand, but ended with 144 for the struggling Torpedoes. Leandra stayed in line with her captain, tallying 647 as the Hummingbirds continue to stomp on their rivals. Shelley didn't have much of a challenge with 250 for Infinity, unable to meaningfully impact the deficit. Charli had to go with 307 for Tysini after misplaying a defensive touch toward her wicket. Mr. Snowman had a solid 407 for the Torpedoes, but they still took a hard loss at 913. Brownie went with 126 for the Hummingbirds, capping their win at 1724. Tysini is back up to 16-13, while Infinity drops off at 20-10.

Google Pitch at Union Ground, Modernistic: The Union will sit Puff I this time, while the league-leading Sharpshooters put Sprinkles on the bench. Chris posted 540 for Capital City, a lower pace holding back his offense only slightly. Ms. Puppy shot back with 546 for Modernistic this time, giving the hosts a tiny lead after the first turn. Missy popped a great 868 on the second attack for the Sharpshooters, giving them a stronger lead. Daisy answered with 708 for the Union, keeping the score close despite the fact the hosts now trail at the halfway point. Lorde replied with 560 for Capital City, maintaining their lead pretty well in a high-scoring game. Kodiak chipped back with 576 for Modernistic, making it close on the final players' turns. Pauline went with 583 for the Sharpshooters, keeping their offense balanced as they finish with 2551. Chimpy couldn't keep up for the Union, his 36 leaving them at a loss with 1866. Capital City extends their league lead at 24-5, while Modernistic is down to 12-24 with the loss.

Nike Field, Commerce: Both captains will take rest in this C-Line Derby, as the Tradewinds sit Tigerette while the Sharpshooters give Chris a game off. Missy started off fairly well with 416 for Capital City, a stable start to the game for the visitors. Taylor let her pace drop off after awhile, but she still tallied 684 for Commerce in a strong opening turn for the hosts. Sprinkles crushed 1412 for the Sharpshooters on their second attack, giving them a definitive lead. Lionel couldn't make much of a response with 257 for the Tradewinds, damaging their comeback hopes. Lorde poked 383 for Capital City against her former team, keeping the visitors in firm control of the game. Rosemary had only 144 for Commerce, unable to fight back under a massive deficit. Pauline got a bit lucky to push her turn past an accidental backhand that just hit the back 4s, and she finished with 682 to give the Sharpshooters a final score of 2893. Niki had only 9 points for the Tradewinds in a brutal last turn, leaving them with 1094 in a tough loss. Capital City is up to 25-5, while Commerce drops to 13-15.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The Hummingbirds' home stand continues with a doubleheader, again meeting their Southwestern rivals, the Torpedoes. Charli sits for the hosts, while Fluffina is out for the visitors. Smudge tapped 392 for Infinity on the opening turn, a decent performance from the visiting captain. Princess shot back with 584 for Tysini, giving the hosts the initial lead this time. Solaris countered with 920 for the Torpedoes, a massive appearance to help them retake the lead. Leandra couldn't muster a sufficient answer this time, her 271 causing the Hummingbirds to fall far behind. Shelley had a solid 429 to pad the Infinity lead on this turn, pushing them farther ahead. Brownie couldn't get much back for Tysini, a poor 175 causing them to lose ground late in the game. Mr. Snowman tacked on 473 for the Torpedoes at the end, keeping their balanced offense healthy at a total of 2214. Paps launched a rally for the Hummingbirds, knocking 784 on the turn, but they still took the loss at 1814. Infinity is now 21-10, while Tysini drops to 16-14, currently tied for fourth place.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The Hummingbirds now get their meeting with the Nighthawks. Luigi sits for the visitors this time, while Leandra will sit out for the hosts for some needed rest. Peach had a decent first turn for North Modernistic with 412, giving them something to build on later. Princess stumbled with 150 for Tysini this time, putting them behind from the start as the busy week catches up with the team. Cheddar had only 259 on the second attack for the Nighthawks, leaving them a bit vulnerable. Charli put up a measly 69 for the Hummingbirds after a bad swing, allowing the deficit to grow. Gal tried to provide a good attack for North Modernistic, but her high pace led to a lack of control when she fell at 225. Brownie made some progress with 441 for Tysini, getting them closer in a low-scoring game. B. Chapman added 253 for the Nighthawks at the end, hoping it will be enough as they finish with a total of 1149. Paps saved the day for the Hummingbirds, pummeling 927 with great pace to give them a win at 1587. Tysini bounces back to 17-14 on the year, while North Modernistic falls again to 10-22.

Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: The Torpedoes make a quick stop at home to start a doubleheader against the Surfers. Bright will sit against his first team for the visitors, while Shelley takes the bench for the hosts. Boots had a firm 591 for Pearl on the opening turn of the game, giving them a nice lead. Smudge answered with a much stronger 1012 for Infinity, producing a significant lead for the hosts at the start. Watermelon fired back with a feisty 793 for the Surfers to reclaim the lead on the second attack. Fluffina butchered her turn with only 42 for the Torpedoes, putting them behind at the halfway mark. Neopolitan dipped with 183 for Pearl, unable to secure their lead with the poor turn. Solaris got beat on 198 for Infinity, unable to corral a high ball on his backhand. Beth tacked on 569 for the Surfers at the end, bringing their good offense up to 2136. Mr. Snowman had a pacey rally with 770 for the Torpedoes, but they came up short at a total of 2022. Pearl rises to 17-16, while Infinity drops back to 21-11.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: The Spiders are in quite the fight to stay at the Elite level, sitting Shiny as they meet a slightly fatigued Torpedoes team leaving Fluffina on the bench again. Smudge had a weak 112 for Infinity right at the start, putting them in a dangerous position early on. Shadow answered with 655 for Web City, a strong appearance giving the hosts the lead. Solaris had a decent 346 for the Torpedoes on the second attack, but they remain at a deficit. Ted posted another 527 for the Spiders this time, extending their lead nicely at the midway mark of the game. Shelley countered with 521 for Infinity, keeping the deficit level for now. Sugar fired back with 399 for Web City, maintaining their lead as the final players come to bat. Mr. Snowman lost the comeback attempt with only 216 for the Torpedoes, leaving them at 1195. Jack capped it with 96 for the Spiders, giving them a total of 1677 in the win. Web City gets an important win to rise to 15-17, while Infinity is 21-12 with the loss.

Ebay Center, Queens: The last game of Week 16 in Elite is right here. B. Chapman will take the bench for the visitors, while the hosts sit Hannah to wrap up the week. Peach slammed 544 with good pace on the opening turn for North Modernistic, good for an early lead. Crystal replied with a decent 351 for Queens, cutting into the deficit but failing to cover it on the first try. Cheddar fumbled the ball away with a high hit for the Nighthawks, ending with a poor 51 on the second attack. Violetta took it slow and steady in adding 361 to the Flames offense to give them a small lead halfway through. Gal shot back with an aggressive 756 for North Modernistic, giving them a large lead once again. Briana failed to answer it, taking just 80 points for Queens as they return to a deficit. Luigi went with 111 for the Nighthawks at the end, setting their final score at 1462. Kyle tried to rally, but his 432 left the Flames short at 1224 in a disappointing loss. North Modernistic swipes a win to get to 11-22, while Queens is 18-16 now.

Tournament 2018 - Round 1 Day 41

We're back after an unplanned day off to play more series. We should have three straight days of games before a guaranteed break on Saturday. We begin with...

Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Sparkles v. Sleepy B. Veterans go at it in the first series today, playing 7-ball with the blue cue. Archtown's Sleepy B. didn't have the flashy offense in game 1 like Golden's Sparkles did, but Sparkles had a couple of mistakes that allowed Sleepy B. to pick up the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Pilots' Sparkles have five balls over two turns in game 2, but still managed to come up empty on a missed cut on the 7, and the Arrows' Sleepy B. showed no mercy in making the 7 to clinch the series at 2-0 with this win. Game 3 saw Sleepy B. scratch while also making a pair of shots on the break, leading Sparkles to a three-ball run-out from ball-in-hand for the early win. Sleepy B. took the series 2-1, and will visit the Todavía Stills rookie Anton in the second round.

Kraft Forum, Royal: Kayla v. Stealth. The blue cue gets another series of 7-ball as another pair of veterans do battle. Royal's Kayla pounded a six-ball run from the break in game 1, but she rattled a bank on the 7 to the top side before scratching on her second try. Swordpoint's Stealth made the 7 to the bottom right on his second chance, taking a 1-0 series lead with the cheap win. The Crowns' Kayla had a three-ball run in the middle of game 2, but she couldn't get contact on the 4, and the Blades' Stealth surged to the win on a three-ball run-out from here, securing the series at 2-0. Kayla did pick up a win in a less intense game 3, poking the 6-7 combination to the bottom right after Stealth whiffed on the 6. Stealth still won the series 2-1, and will travel to Pacific to face the Volcanoes' Twinkie I in the second round. Kayla will advance five bids into the second round.

Chevrolet Center, Everton: Blizzard v. Citrus. The red cue comes on for a 15-ball series between related veterans. Diamond's Citrus seemed to pace the attack for a lot of game 1, but Everton's Blizzard did cut in with a three-ball run late, only to miss the 15. Citrus tapped it into the bottom left, getting the win and a 1-0 lead in the series. The Gems' Citrus had a fairly strong outing going in game 2, even before a four-ball run and a three-ball run. Citrus gave the Eagles' Blizzard a chance at the 15, but Blizzard missed it, and Citrus got the tap-in for the win and a 2-0 series lead. Citrus picked up her offense late in game 3 after some moments from Blizzard. Citrus double-potted the 9 to the top left and the 12 to the top side, and then won on the next turn with a 13-15 combination to the bottom right. Citrus swept the series 3-0 to earn the right to visit the Southridge Defenders captain Debby in the second round.

Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Boots v. Nicole. The silver cue gets its first look today, bringing us back to 7-ball. Pearl's Boots never let Lighton's Nicole get to the table in game 1, pushing the 7 on the break to the top left for the instant win. Boots holds a 1-0 series lead after that perfect shot. The Prestige's Nicole made up for lost time in game 2, making a majority of her shots to counter an intimidating presence on offense from the Surfers' Boots. Nicole added the last two shots to get the win, tying the series at 1 game apiece. Nicole dominated the offense in game 3, using a four-ball run early and adding more later, but she missed on the 7 and Boots didn't give her another chance. Boots tapped the 7 in for the win and took the series 2-1, and she will host the Terrace City Knights rookie Quincy in the second round.

FedEx Arena, Eastside: Salmo v. Rudolph: A rookie visits a sophomore in a 9-ball series that keeps the silver cue in action. Eastside's Salmo popped a four-ball run from the game 1 break, but he couldn't sustain the offense, and Harrison's Rudolph picked up the win with a tap-in on the 9 to take a 1-0 series lead. The Specters' Rudolph had a ball on the break in game 2, but watched as the Sharks' Salmo made an early three-ball run. Salmo again faded early, and Rudolph made five balls over two turns to get the win, clinching the series at 2-0. Rudolph won game 3 in only four shots, making a ball on the break and banking the 1 to the bottom right before an easy shot on the 2 and a contact play on the 3 that deflected the 9 to the bottom right. Salmo was stunned while Rudolph's 3-0 sweep puts him into the visitor role against the Queens Flames' Kyle in round two. Rudolph plays five bids in the second round, while Salmo carries only one.

Chevrolet Center, Everton: Goldy v. Quincy. The blue cue's last 8-ball series of the round is between a legend and a rookie. Everton's Goldy made a stripe on the break, but she struggled early. Terrace City's Quincy found his groove for a bit, then Goldy countered, before Quincy finally won with a four-ball run-out for the 1-0 series lead. The Eagles' Goldy had a more controlled appearance in game 2, getting solids early. The Knights' Quincy didn't do much on his second turn, and this allowed Goldy to ignite a six-ball run-out, ending with a bank on the 8 to the bottom side after playing well in a confined area. Goldy's win tied the series at 1. Quincy had a clear edge for most of game 3, but Goldy made it interesting on a late three-ball run that nearly resulted in more. Quincy then replied with a pair of shots for the win and 2-1 series win. Quincy will visit the Diamond Gems' Rosalina in the second round. Quincy takes seven bids into the second round, an early favorite for the Rookie of the Year.

AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Dewey v. Daisy. Sophomores meet as the blue cue continues its service in 15-ball. Oceanside's Dewey made an imposing eight-ball run at one point in game 1, but Modernistic's Daisy fired back on a three-ball run before scratching. Dewey flubbed the ball in hand play, but he would rebound with a three-ball run-out after Daisy also missed the 10. Dewey leads the series 1-0. The Union's Daisy got closer in game 2, limiting the effectiveness of runs from the Waves' Dewey. This worked out, as Dewey was frequently left frustrated, and Daisy picked up the 10-15 combination to the bottom right for the win, tying the series at 1. Daisy made a pair of balls on the game 3 break, and this set the tone for a heightened offense from the visitor. Dewey struggled at the start, and he slipped up near the end, allowing Daisy to pick up the pace again as she took the win. Daisy's 2-1 series win puts her into the second round against the Web City Spiders' Sugar on the road. Both players will have six bids in the second round.

UPS Hall, Maplewood: Diddley v. Sierra. Talented veterans square off in another blue cue series of 15-ball. Maplewood's Diddley didn't have the hottest start to game 1, allowing Todavía's Sierra to build a convincing case in possession. Sierra would make five of the last seven balls as well, but a scratch on the 15 put Diddley ahead 1-0 in the series with the gifted win. The Lumberjacks' Diddley battled more closely with the Stills' Sierra at the start of the second game, keeping things even initially. Sierra began to fade late, and Diddley eventually made the move, winning on a five-ball run-out to clinch the series at 2-0. Sierra had a bit of a push late in game 3 after another muddied and contested start. Sierra's five-ball run ended with a miss on the 14, and Diddley picked up the last two shots for the win, sweeping the series 3-0 to earn the right to host the Boston Swifts' Gradley in the second round.

Chevrolet Center, Everton: Kirstin v. Mr. Snowman. A couple of veterans hitting rough patches this season meet in 12-ball with the silver cue. Infinity's Mr. Snowman needed some time to get his offense going after a good break by Everton's Kirstin, but when the host gave away a wild-card ball, Mr. Snowman soon cashed in to win with a three-ball run-out for a 1-0 series lead. The Torpedoes' Mr. Snowman made three balls legally on the game 2 break, part of a larger five-ball run that put panic into the home fans. The Eagles' Kirstin channeled their fears, making one ball early and then using defense until she could ignite her own five-ball run-out for the win to tie the series at 1. Kirstin's offense didn't dry up in game 3, but four scratches cost her the game, surrendering positioning on wasted shots. Mr. Snowman took his time in getting the win until he made two shots at the left corners to win the series 2-1, earning a place in the second round.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Oreo v. Isabella. The red cue is back in action now, playing Rotation this time. Terrace City's Oreo had the early lead in game 1, but Atlantic's Isabella took over on a four-ball run. Isabella got closer to winning, then stalled as Oreo made a three-ball run to tie it again, only for Isabella to tap in the 14 for an 8-7 win and 1-0 series lead when Oreo missed a bank shot. The Pirates' Isabella stepped in with a better effort in game 2, making a three-ball run early and then battling to keep the Knights' Oreo down in the middle of the game. Isabella's suppression plays worked, and Isabella eventually earned the 8-3 win to clinch the series at 2-0. Oreo built up a big lead early in game 3, but Isabella interfered as much as possible until she found a way to tie the game. The tie was short-lived, as Oreo made two shots on her next turn to win 8-6, but Isabella still took the series 2-1. Isabella will face the Golden Pilots' Strut in the second round. Oreo will play three bids in the second round.

Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Patches v. Pedey. The red cue stays at the table for an Accuracy series. Boston's Patches had a good start in game 1, and while she twice dipped level to Diamond's Pedey, she recovered well both times, eventually taking the win 2-3 for a 1-0 series lead in a quick game. The Swifts' Patches had a rough start to game 2, falling behind rather quickly, but she recovered and forced the game into overtime after two late misses by the Gems' Pedey. In overtime, Patches went empty on the break, and Pedey made a shot to win 2-3, tying the series at 1. Patches and Pedey combined for a beautiful game 3, going perfect until Patches stumbled late. She forced Pedey into a miss on the last ball, forcing overtime. Here, it took a scratch by Pedey after a remarkable cut by Patches to decide the game. Patches made one more shot for the 1-2 win, taking the series 2-1 as she earns a chance to host the Atlantic Pirates' Steven in the second round.

Kraft Forum, Royal: Nightfur v. Pauline. The red cue ends the day in Rotation between a captain and a rookie. Royal's Nightfur had a fantastic game 1 appearance, making a three-ball run early on and another three-ball run at the end to win 8-0, shutting out Capital City's Pauline for the 1-0 series lead. The Sharpshooters' Pauline had a bit more luck early in game 2, but the Crowns' Nightfur had little patience for that, making five balls over her last two turns to win 8-3. Nightfur's dominant pair of wins earned her the series at 2-0. Nightfur had a good start in game 3 as well, but this one wasn't sustainable, as Pauline battled back and ended up winning the game 8-7. Nightfur took the series 2-1, and will host Whitewater Shores rookie Katharine in the second round.

Microsoft Pitch, Del Sur: The Prestige begin the week in a doubleheader, sitting Katelynn for the first game, while the Monarchs have Avril resting on the bench after recent diminishing returns. Acorn didn't have the best opening turn for Lighton with 324, unable to find a more acceptable pace. Hoppy countered with 673 for Southern to give them a decent initial lead after a great turn. Spirit charged back with 592 for the Prestige, covering the deficit with a productive turn. Panda fought off most of that attack with 521 for the Monarchs, keeping them in the lead at the midway mark. Nicole couldn't get Lighton back into the game with 122 on her turn, allowing the deficit to grow. Pounce chipped 373 for Southern this time to give them a little more cushion late in the game. Waluigi got beat on a deflection at 84 for the Prestige, leaving them to lose with 1122 overall. Dominic knocked 384 to cap the Monarchs' win at 1951. Southern gains ground in the race for fourth place, rising to 17-14, while Lighton drops to 14-9 while holding the last Hutton Cup position.

Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: The Prestige return home for a meeting with the Gems. First hitters sit this one out, as the visitors bench Rosalina while the hosts rest Acorn. Citrus flicked 552 for Diamond in a nice first turn, setting the visitors up well for the game. Spirit couldn't get it all back with 337 for Lighton, putting them slightly behind after the first turn. Pedey shot back with 473 for the Gems, making a small gain for the visitors with a good second attack. Katelynn kept things relatively close with 425 for the Prestige, but they remain behind at the halfway point. Smokey had a reasonable 316 for Diamond, but there is concern they could be vulnerable now. Nicole made progress with 505 for Lighton this time, closing the gap a bit as the final players come to bat. Cassandra pushed the Gems farther ahead with 844 at the end, icing their offense at 2185. Waluigi did alright with 432 for the Prestige, but they took a hard loss at 1699. Diamond gets a surprisingly strong win to go to 9-24, while Lighton sinks to 14-10 after their gamble didn't work.

UPS Ground, Maplewood: The Lumberjacks aren't ready to give up, and they'll rest Summer, while the visiting Monarchs are making a push and give Dominic his regular rest in this game. Avril picked up a middling 267 for Southern on their first turn, lacking a decisive attacking presence. Whiskers answered with 344 for Maplewood, giving them a small lead after an unusually early exit. Hoppy made a bolder attack with 792 for the Monarchs, putting them distinctly ahead. Diddley tried to use a similar strategy, but he sent a ball too high too soon, ending with 400 for the now-trailing Lumberjacks. Panda turned a technical error replay into a massive positive attack for Southern, slicing 907 to pad their lead greatly. Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: The Meteors are without Dani as the rebounding veteran takes rest, while Lexi sits for the Specters after two series of pool yesterday. Sydney led off with 439 for Harrison, a stable opener from the reliable first hitter. Mams answered with 637 for Viewpoint Sound this time, giving them a slight edge after the first turn. Twinkie II didn't have very much for pace as she hit 416 for the Specters this time, but the performance did cover the deficit. Hoot saw a deflection cut him down at 46 for the Meteors, causing the hosts to fall behind midway through the game. Rudolph squandered the advantage a bit in hitting only 169 for Harrison on his turn. Nibbles couldn't make a counterattack with 63 for Viewpoint Sound, burying them deeper late in the game. Mitchell added 341 for the Specters at the end of the game, giving them a total of 1365. Vincent fell at 87 for the Meteors in this one, leaving them to lose with 833 overall. Harrison had a stronger effort in the win, going to 13-19, while Viewpoint Sound drops to 12-17.

Subway Field, Stonebridge: The Prestige are taking no chances this time, with Waluigi riding the bench, while the Wolves rest Cobalt after his pool appearance yesterday. Acorn struggled with only 106 at the start for Lighton, not responding well to his earlier game off. Juno fired back with 639 for Stonebridge on the opening turn, giving the hosts a large lead right away. Spirit smashed 1073 for the Prestige on their second attack, covering the deficit quite nicely. Frosty tried to make do at a poor pace for the Wolves, her 384 mitigating the damage from the visitors. Katelynn followed up with 919 for Lighton on her turn, putting them in a much more comfortable leading position. Hershey tried to lock in for Stonebridge, but he ended up with only 272, far short of what was necessary to catch up. Nicole got beat on a deflection, ending with 328 for the Prestige, which puts their final score at 2426. Vladimir didn't even try to help the Wolves, his 51 putting their losing total at 1346. Lighton bounces up to 15-10, while Stonebridge drop to 12-23.

Toyota Pitch, Freedom: Roxy's recent slump will see her to the bench again in the third of a five-game home stand for the Cascades, while the Spurs will sit Wario in the first of two games this week. Spice attacked well immediately from the first swing, giving Victoria a plentiful 688 to begin with. Jasmine shot back with 515 for Freedom, keeping the hosts engaged in a high-scoring start to the game. Yekaterina covered this damage with 535 for the Spurs on the second attack to maintain their lead. Stinky belted 1272 for the Cascades in response, a flurry of offerings strengthening his play rather than taking him out as the visitors had intended. Sage picked up 338 for Victoria, but that wasn't enough to cover their deficit. Nikolai shot back with 595 for Freedom, pulling them farther ahead with a player each to go. Strawberry had only 239 for the Spurs in the end, leaving them at a loss with a total of 1800 even. Stripes tacked on 589 for the Cascades to close out their win with 2971. Freedom did impressively well to rise to 20-10, while Victoria slips to 13-16 with the rough loss.

Microsoft Pitch, Del Sur: The Monarchs are back at home and sitting Pounce this time, while Cubby sits as the Sharks begin their final road trip of the year, a seven-game beast. Graham couldn't corral a spinning ball, and it flicked over his bat to end his turn at 279 for Eastside. Avril responded with 482 for Southern on the first turn, giving them a slight advantage initially. Chelsea countered with 538 for the Sharks this time, giving them a strong second attempt at the lead. Hoppy poked 399 for the Monarchs on her reply, keeping the hosts ahead by a thin margin. Gizmo faltered with a measly 81 for Eastside, barely covering the small deficit facing the team. Panda shot back with 375 for Southern, failing to fully capitalize on the chance to extend the lead. Salmo went off with 670 for the Sharks, challenging the hosts to match their total at 1568. Dominic made a push with 304 for the Monarchs, but this only gave them 1560 in a narrow loss. Eastside pulled off the unlikely upset, rising to 17-18, while Southern drops back to 18-15, their campaign for fourth place stalled.

Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: The Meteors have quite a challenge ahead and are giving Hoot rest, while the Prestige sit Nicole in the second of a short two-game road trip. Acorn hammered 639 in a triumphant return to form for Lighton on the opening turn of the game. Mams answered with 351 for Viewpoint Sound this time, unable to more than about half of the deficit. Spirit managed only 216 for the Prestige, showing some signs of fatigue after not getting a game off. Nibbles had a long turn but lacked pace, contributing 407 for the Meteors as they shrink the deficit halfway through. Katelynn corralled 340 for Lighton before a fast offering just ducked under her bat to take her wicket. Vincent stumbled with a mere 80 points for Viewpoint Sound, wasting a chance to pull the hosts even late in the game. Waluigi had a great pace going, but a high hit ended his turn at 170 for the Prestige, and they finish at 1365. Dani rallied with 786 for the Meteors, storming into action to give her team the win at 1624. Viewpoint Sound's comeback brings them to 13-17 on the year, while Lighton dips back to 15-11 with the loss.

UPS Ground, Maplewood: Bryant will sit the first game of a home-and-home out for the Lumberjacks, while the Gems leave their captain Smokey out of the lineup. Rosalina struck with 481 for Diamond, a good start in her return to the lineup for the visitors. Whiskers couldn't settle a fast offering, falling at 256 for Maplewood when it skimmed her bat and then the boundary. Citrus tried to help the Gems, but a high swing ended her effort at 141 for the Gems, who see their lead weaken on the second attack. Diddley smashed 825 for the Lumberjacks, pulling them ahead with an ideal counterattack. Pedey shot back with 492 for Diamond this time, keeping them competitive. Gabe shot back with 376 for Maplewood, restoring a smaller lead for the hosts with a player each to go. Cassandra offered a challenge with 329 for the Gems, who finish with a total of 1443, narrowly failing to force a response. Summer capped the Lumberjacks win with her 499, giving them a final score of 1956. Maplewood is up to 17-18, while Diamond sinks to 9-25 with the loss.

Subway Field, Stonebridge: The Wolves are back in action now, sitting Vladimir for this game after a rough outing, while the Spurs bench Strawberry from an earlier pool appearance. Spice drilled 973 for Victoria on the opening turn, giving the visitors a hefty lead right away. Juno managed only 266 for Stonebridge in response, barely scraping at the deficit presented to her team. Yekaterina slugged 1016 on the second attack for the Spurs, greatly strengthening their lead with a fantastic appearance. Frosty had only 84 for the Wolves, who are quickly giving up hope of having a chance in this one. Sage added a modest 298 for Victoria, the visitors now cruising to the end of the game. Hershey couldn't even cover that damage, taking 264 in another low-scoring turn for Stonebridge. Wario tacked on 385 for the Spurs, icing their winning total at 2672. Cobalt tried to make a stop on his backhand, but he failed and ended at 263, sealing the Wolves' loss at 877. Victoria jumps to 14-16, while Stonebridge drops to 12-24 with the loss.

GE Stadium, Southridge: The Defenders will be without Bianca in this game due to rest, while the Monarchs sit their captain Panda in a surprising decision. Avril got knocked back at 128 for Southern in a poor start to the game for the recently-hot visitors. Debby picked up 224, a doldrums ruining a decent effort as Southridge will settle for a small lead to begin the game. Hoppy had a good pace going at first, but she crumbled to 368 for the Monarchs, showing some signs of fatigue from a busy week. Stephanie lifted a ball just a little too high for the Defenders, taking a paltry 96 on her turn. Pounce failed to pull away for Southern, mishitting a ball to end with only 128 this time. Caitlin made a push with 337 for Southridge, enough to give them the lead with a player each to go. Dominic answered with 467 for the Monarchs, setting their final score at 1091. Hughbert had 429 for the Defenders this time, setting their final score at 1086, just five points short of a draw. Southern escapes an ugly game with a big win, going to 19-15, while Southridge drops to 24-8.

The Intel Pitch, Diamond: The Week 16 finale sees the Gems take their turn hosting the Lumberjacks. Whiskers sits for the visitors, while Citrus is on the bench for the hosts. Diddley tapped 250 for Maplewood to begin the scoring, a mediocre turn from the visiting captain. Rosalina didn't punish the mistake, failing with 64 for Diamond in an awful start to the game. Bryant got a bit distracted and fell with 72 for the Lumberjacks, doing little to help their lead in a rough outing. Pedey picked up 324 for the Gems, pulling them narrowly ahead at the halfway mark in a low-scoring battle. Gabe dropped a firm 576 for Maplewood this time, putting them more distinctly ahead. Smokey countered with 415 for Diamond, trying to keep the hosts in the fight near the end of the game. Summer clubbed 736 for the Lumberjacks at the end, finishing their offense at 1634. Cassandra had only 153, leaving the Gems in a loss at 956. Maplewood sweeps the home-and-home to get to 18-18, while Diamond drops to 9-26 with the loss.

Tournament 2018 - Round 1 Day 40

We're set to return to Tournament play today, but potentially at the cost of Select Week 16's start. First up...

AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Dewey v. Leonardo. The first series in our return to action pits a sophomore against a veteran in 9-ball with the blue cue. Midland's Leonardo had a good performance in game 1, making a number of shots with a three-ball run early on. Oceanside's Dewey answered late on a three-ball run, and then made the 9 when Leonardo couldn't, giving Dewey the 1-0 series lead. The Predators' Leonardo had the more notable shots in game 2, including a jump scratch attempt at the 2 and a scratch after a perfect spinning kick on the 7 didn't slow the cue. The Waves' Dewey filled the gaps with a couple of nice runs at the start and the end to take the win and a 2-0 series lead. Dewey dominated possession in game 3, with a four-ball run from the break and a three-ball run-out at the end, sweeping Leonardo. Dewey's sweep puts him into the second round to host the Swordpoint Blades' Bandit.

Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Lexi Woode v. Rosalina. A classic evil against good series goes with 15-ball and the red cue. Harrison's Lexi took a three-ball run from the break and a four-ball run late in the game before potting the 15 alone to beat Diamond's Rosalina in game 1. Lexi's strong performance gives her a 1-0 series lead. The Specters' Lexi weakened her offense after another strong start to game 2, and the Gems' Rosalina picked up much of the slack later on. Rosalina had a couple of chances at the 15 in the end, but Lexi made it on her second chance to secure the series at 2-0. Lexi had another good break, but also scratched early in game 3, and Rosalina saw her chance. Rosalina made a 1-9-3-12 combination to the top right, and that set up her 1-15 combination to the bottom right with a deflection to add the 3 at the top right for a double-pot in the win. Lexi still took the series 2-1, setting up a Northeastern Derby she'll host against the Maplewood Lumberjacks' Bryant in the second round.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Dustin v. Zach. The blue cue returns to action after lunch for a Rotation series. It took Central's Dustin committing an error in game 1 to get the offense going, as Pronger's Zach ignited a seven-ball run, and then won 8-0 a turn later for the 1-0 series lead. Game 2 went much slower, with the Warriors' Dustin hosting for most of the game but with the Tridents' Zach right on his tail the entire time. Dustin eventually picked up the win by an 8-6 score, tying the series at 1 with the close result. Zach fell behind a bit early in game 3 as Dustin played well at the start, but Dustin's lead would not last the whole game. Zach won 8-6 with a four-ball run-out at the end, securing the series for himself at 2-1. Zach will visit the Freedom Cascades' Stripes in the second round.

GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Bianca v. Lize. A sophomore meets a rookie and has a big advantage in another Rotation series with the blue cue. Pronger's Lize got off to a better start in game 1 than anyone could expect, but as the shots became longer, Southridge's Bianca found her groove and came from behind to win 8-5 for the 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Bianca played a slow but perfect game 2, leaving the Tridents' Lize either snookered, pinned on the rail, or at a distance for every shot. Lize had one chance from ball-in-hand, which she under-hit, and Bianca took the 8-0 win to clinch the series at 2-0. Bianca had a more challenging battle in game 3, as Lize managed to pull even after a slow start. Bianca held her off with a pair of late shots to win 8-6, sweeping the series 3-0 as she gets set to host the Eastside Sharks' Chelsea in the second round.

Audi Hall, Terrace City: Oreo v. Hannah. The blue cue stays in play for a 12-ball series between a veteran and a sophomore. Queens' Hannah gave away a wild-card ball as she selected stripes in game 1, and she struggled to position herself for her last shot, but Terrace City's Oreo couldn't beat Hannah's defense, and Hannah won from ball-in-hand for a 1-0 series lead. The Flames' Hannah started well in game 2, but she couldn't find her final shot at all, and the Knights' Oreo, with the help of a wild-card ball given away by Hannah, poached the gritty win to tie the series at 1. Hannah and Oreo exchanged five-ball runs early in game 3, setting a quick pace for the decisive game. Oreo's run ended in a scratch, and the time it took her to make that extra ball helped Hannah get the inside edge and the win on her final shot for the win. Hannah took the series 2-1 and will visit the Archtown Arrows' Wild Thing for a second round series.

AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Celestia v. Sweetheart. A quietly good sophomore meets a bold veteran for 15-ball, another series with the blue cue. Game 1 went fairly quickly at first, with many changes of possession and a great kick by Oceanside's Celestia to make the 7. A chase on the 10 slowed things down, and Boston's Sweetheart left it out for Celestia to make, igniting a four-ball run-out by the host. Celestia leads the series 1-0. Both players had a shakier start to game 2, but the Waves' Celestia was the first to regain her form with a late six-ball run. The bold play went unrewarded, as the Swifts' Sweetheart sniped the 15 to the bottom left from long range on her first opportunity, winning the game to tie the series at 1. Celestia started with a five-ball run in game 3, and she kept her offense steady after that, beating Sweetheart with a two-rail bank-combination, 8-15 to the bottom right. Celestia's extremely productive offense gave her a 2-1 series win and second round series to host against the Tysini Hummingbirds' Paps.

Volkswagen Stadium Events Center, Viewpoint Sound: Dani v. Strawberry. Two veterans on new teams meet in Accuracy, the silver cue's first appearance of the day. Viewpoint Sound's Dani fell behind once in game 1, but she managed to make Victoria's Strawberry miss to tie the game. The battle went to overtime, and a nearly flawless rack ended with Dani missing the last ball. Strawberry won the thriller 1-2, taking a 1-0 series lead. The Meteors' Dani held multiple one-shot leads in game 2, but she fell even each time, including on the last shot of regulation. Dani was forced to take the overtime break, and that netted nothing, allowing the Spurs' Strawberry to win 3-4 with a tap-in on the 2 at the top side. Strawberry clinched the series at 2-0. Dani had a lead early in game 3, but she let that disappear with a handful of misses in the middle of the game. Strawberry cleaned up each one of those misses by Dani, winning 1-5 in a decisive game for the 3-0 series sweep that gets Strawberry to the second round.

Nissan Hall, Infinity: Shelley v. Stealth. Club-mates and Southwestern minor rivals meet in 12-ball as the blue cue comes back to action. Infinity's Shelley got going in game 1 with a three-ball run, but a scratch later on ruined her chances of a win. Swordpoint's Stealth put up an impenetrable defense, and only removed it on his three-ball run-out for the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Torpedoes' Shelley stayed on track in game 2, playing similarly but adding a little defense to throw the Blades' Stealth off his game. It worked out, and Shelley eventually made her last two shots for the win to tie the series at 1. Shelley had early control in game 3, but she only corner shots down when she scratched. Stealth picked up his sides earlier, and managed to navigate Shelley's defenses to get the win and a 2-1 series win. Stealth advances to a road series in the second round against his brother, the Southern Monarchs' Pounce.

Ebay Center, Queens: Violetta v. Rudolph. The silver cue gets its turn in 12-ball now, between a sophomore and a rookie. Queens' Violetta went with a corners-first approach in game 1, but while she had decent positioning, she couldn't find her shot at the sides. Harrison's Rudolph worked right-to-left instead, and found more success late, picking up the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Specters' Rudolph had a chance at the game 2 win even with an illegally potted ball destroying one of his better turns. He kicked his last ball into position at the bottom side, but to do so left a clear shot for the Flames' Violetta on her last shot, and she made it to tie the series at 1 with her win. Rudolph had the edge in game 3, getting a nice pair of early shots in before Violetta could get her offense going. Rudolph would maintain that slight lead for the whole game, poking his last ball in ahead of a defensive play from Violetta to take the series 2-1. Rudolph is into the second round.

Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Cobalt v. Potter. The red cue gets another series, playing Accuracy between Outcast members. Stonebridge's Cobalt played high-event shots, with a ball on the break and a double-pot, but Pronger's Potter held the early lead for quite awhile. This changed when Potter had a rash of misses in the middle of the game, setting Cobalt up to win 2-4 for a 1-0 lead in the series. The Wolves' Cobalt checked some of the same boxes in game 2, but a scratch while making a ball and a failure to tap in a shot late helped the Tridents' Potter fly under the radar in his 2-4 win to tie the series at 1 game apiece. Potter faltered when it mattered in game 3, missing twice early on and then once more late to assure Cobalt of the 1-3 win. Cobalt took the series 2-1 to earn the right to host the Capital City Sharpshooters' Sprinkles in round two, one of his six bids to continue playing.

Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Beth v. Boots. It's an all-Surfers series this time as the blue cue steps in for more Rotation. Game 1 started slowly and evenly for the teammates, but eventually Beth pulled away, winning on a three-ball run-out as Boots couldn't advance her offense. Beth took the win 8-3 for a 1-0 series lead. Boots had the first good turn in game 2, but that lead didn't hold up from a stronger run by Beth, who then added a bit more on two later turns to win 8-4. Beth's late surge this time secured the series at 2-0 in her favor. Beth needed only two turns in game 3 to get an 8-0 win, and it was really all on the second turn, an eight-ball run-out that stunned Boots. Beth swept the series 3-0 and will host the Boston Swifts' Ice Cream in the second round.

Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Lionel v. Jack. Strongman opponents meet in Accuracy with the silver cue. Commerce's Lionel and Web City's Jack had a fantastic start to game 1, but Lionel fell apart after awhile, and Jack barely held onto a decent score as he won 2-6 in the end. Jack leads the series 1-0. The Tradewinds' Lionel was no better in game 2, his only positive moment coming on an accidental jump shot that deflected to put the 11 in the top right. This gave him a fighting chance late, but the Spiders' Jack boxed him out for the 5-6 win, clinching the series at 2-0. Lionel had a better performance in game 3, taking control of the lead and holding on to beat Jack 3-6 this time around. Jack still takes the series 2-1, moving along to the second round in this bid, one of three to advance.

Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Lexi v. Smudge. Two talented opponents tangle as we begin a set of bonus series in 8-ball with the blue cue. Harrison's Lexi was on a four-ball run to start game 1, but illegal contact ruined her turn. Infinity's Smudge soon pulled even, and from there Smudge played better while Lexi got worse. Smudge took the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Torpedoes' Smudge could have done some damage in game 2 had she not clipped a solid on her second shot after a two-ball break. The Specters' Lexi had control of the game from this point, and made a three-ball run-out for the win to tie the series at 1. Lexi owned possession for much of game 3, but Smudge had a five-ball run to make it interesting at the end. Smudge couldn't bank the 8 to the top left, and Lexi tapped it in instead, winning the game and the 2-1 series. Lexi will host the Terrace City Knights rookie Melissa in the second round. Smudge settles for taking three bids to the second round.

HP Field Events Center, Midland: Leonardo v. Dani. Both players here make their second appearance today, meeting in Rotation with the red cue. Game 1 started slowly on both sides, and eventually Viewpoint Sound's Dani established herself first. Midland's Leonardo gave chase once, but Dani pulled away to win 8-3 on a secondary attack, giving her a 1-0 series lead. The Meteors' Dani had her chances in game 2, a late three-ball run falling just a shot short of the win in a back-and-forth battle. This miss would be costly, as the Predators' Leonardo pounded a three-ball run-out to win 8-7, tying the series at 1. Leonardo struggled a bit at first in game 3, but he found a five-ball run to put the pressure on Dani. A scratch later, and Dani had the lost the game as Leonardo made the 11 for an 8-3 win to take the 2-1 series win. Leonardo will host Archtown Arrows veteran Sally in the second round.

Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Tigerette v. Goldy. Two of the strongest captains out there clash in 7-ball with the blue cue. Everton's Goldy had the more composed shots in game 1, using her heady play to counter the forceful approach Commerce's Tigerette took. Goldy made the final pair of balls to get her win, going ahead 1-0 in the series. The Eagles' Goldy completed game 2 in good form after a mixed start against the Tradewinds' Tigerette. Goldy made a three-ball run-out for the win, securing the series at 2-0 in a technical upset. Goldy didn't put all that much effort into game 3 this time, but she still had enough in the tank to beat Tigerette, who struggled and left the 7 in a good spot. Goldy's 3-0 series sweep earns her a trip back to this venue to face another Commerce Tradewind, the rookie Rosemary, in the second round.

Apple Center, Todavía: Prism v. Kodiak. A sophomore and a rookie meet in 10-ball with the silver cue, two Outcast members bringing the day to a close. Modernistic's Kodiak had a very good performance in game 1, including a five-ball run-out to end any hopes Todavía's Prism might have been harboring about her chances. Kodiak leads the series 1-0. The Union's Kodiak didn't play quite as well in game 2, but he still had the majority of the offense despite a better effort from the Stills' Prism. Kodiak found the win with a three-ball run-out at the end to secure the series at 2-0. Prism managed to avoid the sweep in game 3, poking the 10 in after Kodiak couldn't make it at the bottom right. This only made it a 2-1 series for Kodiak, who will visit the Harrison Specters' Sydney in the second round.

Premier Cricket 2018 - Week 15

We're back with a brand new set of games at cricket's highest level. We begin with...

Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: The Tridents are still shorthanded this week but may get relief late next week, while the Shores are sitting Marsell for this meeting. Precious put up a valiant effort with 1237 for Pronger to lead things off, pressuring the hosts immediately. Bear picked up an acceptable 304 for Whitewater, but the deficit remains large just one turn in. Zach added 431 in support of the Tridents lead, a solid outing from the second attacker. Twinkie III was quickly overwhelmed at just 51 points for the Shores, an unusually bad outing from her. Spot collected a fair amount of offense with 887 for Pronger, giving them team an even stronger lead. Katharine had a decent pace, but an aggressive swing ended her turn at 227 for Whitewater. Potter tacked on 829 for the Tridents, a rare complete team effort ending at a total of 3384 to snap their ten-game skid. Shaggy's turn was a formality with 271 for the Shores, confirming a brutal loss at a total of 853. Pronger jumps to 7-16, while Whitewater drops to 14-15 with the loss.

Verizon Field, Pacific: The struggling Volcanoes sit Chicky Phil as they try to snap an eight-game skid, while the Swifts sit Sweetheart after her rough outing in their last league game. Patches got beat on a deflection at 201 for Boston, showing a bit of weakness initially. Starlight countered with 418 for Pacific to open their offense, giving them a slight lead at first. Puff II scattered 486 for the Swifts this time, not quite having her swing in best form but doing enough to gain the lead. Ms. Kitty lost a bit of the Volcanoes lead when she swung and missed to end her turn at 376. Gradley took a couple of replays for a technical error and a false start, but he managed just 155 on the turn that counted, dramatically hurting Boston's chances. Twinkie I charged forth with 591 for Pacific, boosting their lead with a player each to go. Ice Cream provided some challenge to the hosts with 824 for the Swifts, capping their offense at 1666. Leonette faltered with 207 for the Volcanoes, leaving them at 1592 in the loss, their fourteenth in the last fifteen games. Boston makes another great escape to 26-3, while Pacific drops to 10-19.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: The T-Line Derby gets underway with the Knights sitting their rookie Quincy, while the Stills give Prism this game off. Easter made a big attack with 672 for Todavía on the opening turn, pacing their offense very well in this road game. Bells chipped 361 for Todavía this time, but they remain behind their hosts. Oreo wrangled 471 more for Terrace City, giving their lead a small boost late in the game. Anton folded at 340 for the Stills, unable to challenge the deficit as they lost with 1445. Melissa had only 208 for the Knights, icing their win at 2061. Terrace City gets the critical win, rising to 12-16 while dragging Todavía down to 14-18.

Amazon Field, Golden: The Pilots are back home, resting their captain Valencia this time, while the Shores put their top player Twinkie III on the bench for some rest. Bear had a long turn but not much pace for Whitewater, ending at a mediocre 237 to open the scoring. Dusty fired back with 375 for Golden, bringing a much stronger pace to the game to give the hosts the first lead. Marsell got the Shores back in the game with 448 on his turn, covering the deficit simply. Strut shot back with 941 for the Pilots, a fantastic turn to strengthen their lead on the second attack. Katharine couldn't get much of it back with 311 for Whitewater this time, keeping them at a deficit. Sparkles didn't do so well in response with 129 for Golden, but their lead persists as the final players step up to bat. Shaggy couldn't change the result with 285 for the Shores at the end, as the visitors lost with 1281 overall. A. Charlton played well with 423 to cap the Pilots' winning score at 1868. Golden continues to cruise in second place at 22-12, while Whitewater sinks again to 14-16 with the loss.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Goatee will return to the bench for the Rockers for a mental break, while the Eagles have Blizzard sitting this game out. Everton got off to a solid start thanks to 469 from Goldy on the opening turn, a good performance from the captain. Misty had a poor replay after a technical error wiped out her first attempt, and she ended at 247 for Westside this time. Puff III lacked a lot of things in hitting a measly 55 for the Eagles, weakening their lead. Slinks fired back with 760 for the Rockers on their second attack, putting the hosts ahead at the midway mark. Cleo tried to make a counterattack, covering most of the deficit with her 408. Midnight allowed Westside's lead to weaken when she had only 243 on her turn. Kirstin couldn't make the comeback for the Eagles, falling at 126 as her team takes the loss with a total of 1058. Cowzart chopped 723 more for the Rockers at the end of the game, icing a big win at 1973. Westside's home form is good right now as they move up to 15-16, passing the 13-14 Everton squad they just dispatched.

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Warriors need to move up soon, and they'll sit Noelle this time, while the hosting Predators bench their captain Shawn. Rainmane gave Midland a stable opening turn with 416, an effort they can build on later in the game. Twilight fired back with 510 for Central on the opening turn, putting the hosts ahead by a thin margin. Leonardo stayed steady with his teammate, hitting 411 to nearly double the Predators offense. Dustin did the same for the Warriors, matching his captain with 511 to double their offense and the lead. Americus kept things interesting with 512 for Midland, pushing the offense a little higher. Mario fell apart with a swing-and-miss, and then he sent the next ball out of play to end at just 6 for Central, who find themselves behind late in the game. Fuchsia tacked on 425 to the Predators offense to give them a total of 1764 for the game. Wings made a rally with 503 for the Warriors, but they were short at a total of 1530. Midland's ability to avoid disaster gets them to 14-15, congesting the middle of the table even more, while Central drops to 9-14.

Verizon Field, Pacific: The Volcanoes squandered an earlier game, and will bench Leonette for this meeting with the Rockers, who give their captain Misty some rest after a recent tough outing. Goatee didn't want to give the hosts a chance, belting 1239 on the opening turn to set Westside far ahead. Starlight, already stunned by the opposition, had a deflection cut her down at 72 for Pacific. Slinks added 475 for the Rockers on the second attack, a nice addition to their lead. Ms. Kitty tried to mitigate the damage with 273 for the Volcanoes, but they remain deeply behind. Midnight pummeled another 1043 for Westside on her turn, just about cementing their lead with the great burst. Twinkie I defended her wicket well for Pacific, but she couldn't make any progress against the deficit with her 616. Cowzart added a simple 367 for the Rockers, finishing their offense at 3124. Chicky Phil did alright with 421 for the Volcanoes, but they still lost brutally at 1382. Westside moves up to 16-16, while Pacific's free-fall has hit ten games as they fall to 10-20.

Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: Shaggy will take her turn on the bench for the Shores in this game, while the Warriors elect to bench Mario after his poor outing last time. Twilight could have kept going, but she angled a swing poorly and fell with 326 for Central. Bear answered with 467 for Whitewater in this game, giving them a slight lead after the first turn. Dustin smashed 904 for the Warriors on the second attack, giving them a massive lead this time. Twinkie III struggled again in this game, picking up only 141 for the Shores as they trail at the halfway point. Wings fired back with 482 for Central, keeping them firmly in control of this game. Marsell had a lot of pace on his turn, but a slightly early exit gave him 521 for Whitewater, halving the deficit with a player each to go. Noelle poked 280 for the Warriors, giving them a final score of 1992. Katharine tried to get the Shores back into it, but her 425 left them short at 1554 in the loss. Central is up to 10-14 now, while Whitewater sinks to 14-17.

Apple Park, Todavía: The Stills continue to fight for their top-8 spot, leaving Anton on the bench again, while the Volcanoes sit their captain Starlight in this game. Ms. Kitty had a weak 63 for Pacific, not quite able to match the pace of the game on the opening turn. Easter wasn't much better with 111 for Todavía, giving them a tiny lead after the first turns. Twinkie I popped 481 for the Volcanoes to get them on a better track offensively on the second attack. Sierra maintained a healthy form with 939 for the Stills, giving the hosts a larger lead at the halfway mark. Leonette couldn't cover the damage with 304 for Pacific, leaving them at a deficit. Bells butchered her turn with only 7 points for Todavía after being too slow on her backhand. Chicky Phil gave the Volcanoes a chance with 696 on his turn for a total of 1544. Prism struck 530 for the Stills at the end, giving them 1587 and a narrow win. Todavía rises to 15-18, while Pacific's slump continues to 10-21.

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Warriors have little margin for error, and will sit Mario in accordance to that, while the Rockers put Cowzart on the bench for this meeting. Misty returned to good form with 567 for Westside to open the scoring in this game. Twilight only got 352 back for Central in response, giving them an early deficit to overcome. Goatee shot back with 470 for the Rockers this time, adding nicely to their lead. Dustin accepted 854 for the Warriors when a technical error ended his turn, giving the hosts the lead midway through the game. Slinks buckled at 222 for Westside in this appearance, barely covering their deficit. Wings went off with another 943 for Central, putting them far ahead with a player each to go. Midnight attacked with 911 for the Rockers, ending their offense at 2170, which forces a small response from the hosts. Noelle didn't do much with 41, but the Warriors scraped out a win at 2190. Central reinserts themselves into the playoff fight at 11-14, while Westside drops back to 16-17 in a thrilling game.

Amazon Field, Golden: The Gold Derby goes with the Pilots putting Sparkles on the bench, while the visiting Eagles are sitting Kirstin in this one. Goldy batted 349 for Everton to lead off the game in acceptable form for the visitors. Valencia countered with 495 for Golden to give the hosts a lead after the first turns. Puff III fired back with 787 for the Eagles, returning to form nicely after an unusually rough appearance earlier. Dusty shot backed with 568 for the Pilots, keeping them close as the game reaches half completion. Cleo launched 703 for Everton in response, extending their lead again to keep the visitors in control of the game. Strut couldn't get it all back, but his 650 keeps Golden within striking distance late in the game. Blizzard had a solid 471 for the Eagles at the end of the game, setting their final score at 2310. A. Charlton fell with 90 for the Pilots, leaving them in a loss at 1803. Everton pulls off a minor upset to rise to 14-14, while Golden is now 22-13.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: Katharine will sit out the first of a five-game road trip for the Shores, while the Swifts bench their captain Patches this time. Bear had only 112 to lead off with for Whitewater, giving them a vulnerable appearance right at the start. Puff II chopped 616 for Boston on their first turn, putting the hosts nicely ahead. Twinkie III got beat on a deflection at 130 for the Shores, making the deficit facing them even worse with the poor outing. Gradley struggled again with only 25 for the Swifts, failing to capitalize on a chance to extend their lead. Marsell tried to close down the deficit, but he had only a mediocre 265 for Whitewater in this appearance. Sweetheart added a solid 432 to the Boston lead, keeping them in control of the game with a player each to go. Shaggy rolled 104 for the Shores at the end, leaving them to take a hard loss at 611 overall. Ice Cream tacked on 343 for the Swifts at the end for a final score of 1416 in the win. Boston jumps to 27-3, while Whitewater drops to 14-18 after a brutal week.
