North Modernistic Nighthawks at Midseason
The North Modernistic Nighthawks came into the season as the expansion team with the greatest expectations but the fewest resources before the draft. Picking first overall, they selected a rookie to be their captain, and doubled down with another rookie in the second round. Peach and Luigi have worked well in their capacities for the team, and rebound years from veterans Cheddar and Bright have been the perfect complement, seeing the Nighthawks to a 20-15 record despite a heavy road schedule due to construction on their stadium lasting into the season. They are 8-8 at home, and 12-7 on the road, with a division record of 4-3. At times, they have had one of the most electrifying offenses in the league, with an average of 1884 in all situations, and a stronger offense of the road than at home. Peach and Cheddar each exceed 500 points per game, and they do so with a similarly strong consistency, which has been key for this team so far. Luigi is the third-best player, providing a strong middle presence, while Bright has done enough to close out plenty of games. These players have a decent chance at the playoffs, but another ten-game road trip looms in the near future to complete the stadium construction. If they can do well during that stretch, they are certainly a dark horse to watch in the playoffs.
