Premier Cricket 2018 - Week 16

We're ready for an all-Sunday Week 16 in Premier action. We'll play the games where they fit and see what happens. First up...

Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: The Tridents will have Lize back later in the week, but she'll sit this game out, while the Eagles bench their captain Goldy for a spot of rest. Puff III laced 624 for Everton to open the scoring in full force for the visitors. Precious elected for a technical error replay, but quickly exited with only 33 for Pronger. Cleo popped a modest 256 for the Eagles this time, maintaining their lead effectively. Zach pulled back with 519 for the Tridents, shrinking the deficit at the halfway mark with his productive outing. Kirstin had a decent turn going, but a deflection stalled her at 354 for Everton, keeping them in a shakier lead. Spot closed in even more with 528 for Pronger, using two nifty backhands before a third ball got behind his bat and finally took the elusive wicket. Blizzard didn't have the most pace for the Eagles, but her 377 gave them a total of 1611 in hopes of holding off the hosts. Potter made a push back with 382 for the Tridents, but they narrowly lost at 1462 overall. Everton survives a surprisingly tough game, rising to 15-14, while Pronger is 7-17 on the year, just beginning a busy week.

Verizon Field, Pacific: The Volcanoes try to right their ship against the inconsistent Predators. The visitors sit their captain Shawn for a second straight game, while Ms. Kitty sits for the hosts. Rainmane got off to a nice start with 575 for Midland in this one, pacing their early attack well. Starlight countered with 630 for Pacific to put them ahead by a thin margin on the first turn. Leonardo stumbled with 115 for the Predators this time, leaving them very vulnerable. Twinkie I had only 204 for the Volcanoes, unable to capitalize on the opportunity to extend the lead. Americus took big swings for Midland, but the strategy worked to add 560 to their offense. Leonette countered that effectively with 586 for Pacific, maintaining a reasonable lead heading into the final players' turns. Fuchsia picked up 281 for the Predators at the end, forcing a response from the hosts to their final score of 1531. Chicky Phil chopped 466 at the end to give the Volcanoes a long-awaited win at 1886. Pacific's eleven-game losing streak ends as they move to 11-21, while Midland drops to 14-16.

Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: Both captains will take the bench in this meeting between the Blades and the Shores, as Snowball and Bear have under-performed recently. Twinkie III had a decent effort going before turning her bat and sending a ball high out of play to end at a paltry 66 for Whitewater. Dreamy answered with a middling 256 for Swordpoint, unable to produce a more intimidating attack. Marsell answered with 192 for the Shores, their offense remaining weak at this stage. Bandit shot back with 377 for the Blades on the second attack, adding decently to the lead. Katharine fired back with 400 for Whitewater, making an impression on the deficit. Stealth had no patience for that, smacking 703 for Swordpoint to restore a healthy lead in the hosts' favor. Shaggy had a decent 416 for the Shores, but they took a hard loss at 1074 to stretch their losing streak to five games. Jason N. tallied an additional 464 for the Blades, securing their win at 1800 even, their fifth straight victory. Swordpoint is up to 19-15, while Whitewater drops to 14-19 with the loss.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: The Tridents are still without Lize, while the Knights sit their captain Kiwi as a strategic resting choice. Precious again had good pace, but a delayed offering ruined her rhythm and sank her at 148 for Pronger on the opening turn. Jennifer replied with 392 for Terrace City, going at a slower pace but lasting much longer than her opponent. Zach picked up 327 for the Tridents in response this time, covering the deficit lightly. Oreo fell with a pathetic 9 for the Knights, giving away the lead after a series of deflections downed her. Spot didn't take advantage of the situation, managing a poor 110 for Pronger as their lead remains small. Melissa knocked 507 for Terrace City in response, pulling them ahead again with a player each to go. Potter poured on pressure with 640 for the Tridents, capping their offense at 1225 to force the hosts to respond. Quincy had 279 for the Knights, leaving them short with 1187. Pronger bounces back to 8-17, while Terrace City dips to 12-17 on the year.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: Oreo will take her turn on the bench for the Knights this time, while the Predators go with Leonardo sitting out in their second game this week. Shawn returned to action with a firm 603 for Midland this time, giving them a healthy lead to start with. Kiwi shot back with 305 for Terrace City, halving the deficit after the first turn. Rainmane poked 211 for the Predators, her final swing pulling an offering out of play as their lead weakens. Jennifer crumbled at just 90 points for the Knights, wasting the chance to make it a closer game. Americus ran away with the lead for Midland, belting 993 and using some crafty bat-work to keep the turn alive. Melissa got knocked back at 25 by a deflection, destroying Terrace City's hopes of a comeback. Fuchsia exploded for 1128 more for the Predators at the end, icing their win at 2935. Quincy tried to get the Knights back in the game with 575, but they fell at 995 total. Midland jumps to 15-16, while Terrace City drops again to 12-18.

BMW RockDome, Westside: The Rockers leave Slinks on the bench this time for regular rest, while the Swifts have concerns about Gradley's workload as they give him this game off. Patches clubbed 823 for Boston at the start of the game, a great start for the visitors through their captain. Misty shot back with a strong 745 for Westside, keeping the hosts in the discussion against Premier's best team. Puff II grabbed a much less impressive 387 for the Swifts on the second attack. Goatee charged back with 631 for the Rockers, covering the deficit as the hosts gain a lead midway through the game. Sweetheart slipped up at 222 for Boston this time, unable to reestablish her side. Midnight returned 410 for Westside, extending their lead after getting a second chance for a technical error replay. Ice Cream's 304 was not enough for the Swifts, leaving them at a loss with 1736. Cowzart tapped 113 at the end to give the Rockers a winning final score at 1899. Westside's upset win gets them a season split, while their total record is at 17-17, while Boston is now 27-4 with the loss.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Swifts hope to bounce back quickly on the back half of a doubleheader, sitting Ice Cream, while the Eagles bench Cleo for regular rest. Goldy produced 423 to lead things off fairly well for Everton this time. Patches took 384 for Boston in response, keeping them close but slightly behind to start things off. Puff III fired back with 527 for the Eagles in a great second attack to pad their lead. Puff II went in pursuit of that mark, but fell short with 433 for the Swifts, causing them to lose ground halfway through the game. Kirstin caused Everton's lead to become unstable, hitting only 112 in a poor turn at an inopportune time. Gradley made a grand return with 624 for Boston, pushing them ahead by striking at their opponents' vulnerability. Blizzard picked up 304 for the Eagles, leaving their final score at 1366 in the loss. Sweetheart sliced 211 for the Swifts, icing their win at 1652. Boston is back on track at 28-4, while Everton drops off to 15-15.

Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: The Tridents welcome Lize back to the lineup, while Precious gets her first game off all season; the Volcanoes sit Twinkie I after she fell out of form. Starlight made a defensive play on her backhand, but the next offering stung her, giving the Pacific captain only 20 points. Zach tried to recover after a backhand hit, but the rolling ball got behind him, ending his first shot at lead-off with 177 for Pronger. Ms. Kitty put the Volcanoes ahead with 351, covering the deficit with an acceptable turn. Spot tried a scoop shot but missed the ball, his 274 reclaiming a smaller lead for the Tridents. Leonette finally got Pacific's offense on track with 809, putting them well ahead this time. Potter countered with 583 for Pronger, trying to keep them within striking distance. Chicky Phil saw his wicket taken out just before a technical error would have been triggered, ending at 318 for the Volcanoes, who totaled 1498 in the game. Lize picked up 344 for the Tridents at the end, leaving them short of the mark at 1378. Pacific rises to 12-21, while Pronger drops to 8-18 in the first part of their home-and-home.

Verizon Field, Pacific: Back on the coast, the Volcanoes will sit Chicky Phil, while the Tridents leave Lize at home on the bench to avoid the stress of travel after her recent return. Precious opened this one with 615 for Pronger, a strong start for the fresh and rested captain. Starlight slammed 910 for Pacific, taking a great pace early before crumbling late while managing to retain the lead. Zach couldn't even things out for the Tridents, his 211 keeping them behind this time. Ms. Kitty kept the Volcanoes lead quite healthy, slapping 768 to boost them at the halfway mark. Spot took 370 for Pronger in this appearance, keeping their offense respectable if not threatening. Twinkie I countered that well with 423 for Pacific, keeping them in control of the game. Potter had 285 for the Tridents at the end, and they took another loss at 1481 overall. Leonette went off with 1449 for the Volcanoes, bringing their final to a lofty 3550 in the statement-making win. Pacific rises to 13-21, while Pronger dips to 8-19.

Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: The Tridents return home and bench Zach for this meeting, while the Shores sit Twinkie III due to fatigue accumulated over the season. Bear produced a solid 384 for Whitewater on the opening turn, giving them something to work with later on. Precious countered on 611 for Pronger, giving them the early lead with a good performance. Marsell shot back with 464 for the Shores, covering the deficit with his effort. Spot slipped up a bit with 285 for the Tridents, but they did retake a small lead at the halfway point of the game. Katharine lacked longevity in hitting only 194 for Whitewater, causing them to sit unstably ahead. Potter went off with 596 for Pronger, giving them a nice cushion with a player each to go. Shaggy forced a small response with 455 for the Shores, putting them at 1497 overall. Lize tapped a meager 64 for the Tridents, but they won with 1556. Pronger bounces to 9-19, while Whitewater sinks to 14-20.

Chevrolet Field, Everton: The Tridents return Lize to the bench in another road game, while the Eagles sit Kirstin as they return home after a five-game road trip. Precious, feeling the effects of fatigue again, had only 176 for Pronger to start this game. Goldy couldn't settle down after a backhand block, falling at 147 to a fast offering as she was caught out of position for Everton. Zach wasted the chance to build the lead, with only 162 for the Tridents on the second attack. Puff III picked up 247 for the Eagles, giving them a minor lead in a low-scoring mess of a game. Spot didn't do a lot in response with 287, but Pronger does currently hold a lead again. Cleo put Everton behind with a pathetic 20 points on her turn, putting them in a dangerous position late. Potter froze up a bit early with 331 for the Tridents, setting their final score at 956. Blizzard let the Eagles down with 305 for a final score of 719 in a brutal loss. Pronger makes it to 10-19 now, while Everton drops to 15-16 with the embarrassing loss.

Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: The Blades end week 16 with Jason N. on the bench as they face the first-place Swifts, who bench Sweetheart as they start a four-game road trip. Patches managed 384 for Boston in a somewhat slow start for the high-octane team. Snowball disappointed Swordpoint yet again, posting a measly 28 in response at the start of this game. Puff II added another 319 for the Swifts, adding mildly to the lead when she could have done more. Dreamy pulled back with 400 for the Blades, cutting slightly into the deficit at the midway point. Gradley posted a mediocre 240 for Boston as the scoring drought continues into this game. Bandit gathered a pacey 567 for Swordpoint, giving them the lead with a player each to go. Ice Cream made a terrible error as she tapped the third offering lightly, taking out her wicket at 36 points as the Swifts lose with 979 total. Stealth finished it with 270 for the Blades, their winning total sitting at 1265. Swordpoint makes it to 20-15, while Boston drops to 28-5.
