The Maplewood Lumberjacks did not make any changes after having a reasonably successful season last year. They are happy with the roster as it is from last season, but they have had a bit of mixed results for this year. The stability has helped them at times, and they have a strong hierarchy, but they are only at 17-15 as the last team to reach midseason. This means they will face a crowded schedule of about 2.5 games per week over the last half of their season. They will need to be at their best to hold onto their current ranking of 15th in the league.
The Lumberjacks total offense sits at about 1548, which is what can reasonably be expected of a middle of the pack team. Their longtime captain and offensive leader is their lead-off hitter Fluffina, who averages 461 points per game to account for 30% of the offense. While she may be getting tired from carrying the team on her back, she has a decent consistency of about 1.3, which pairs well with the high offensive output. Behind her, Bryant is the other career Lumberjacks, and he carries a 381 average that makes up 24.5% of the team offense. Bryant is consistent to a measure of about 1.35 so far this season, which also goes pretty well with his offense. Behind him, the second-year Lumberjack Diddley produces about 368 points per game, which puts him at 24% of the offense. Diddley is a savvy veteran and strongly consistent, approaching a mark of 1.6 in that particular metric. At the back of the lineup is the team's anchor, Cubby, who has a 337 average this season. Cubby may be leaving the team at the end of the year, and his 22% point share would be easily replaced, as would his 1.5 consistency that proves a bit more troubling with the lower average. On the whole, the Lumberjacks pretty much have all the pieces they need to make the playoffs for one last run with this group of players. I believe they will make it.
With this being the final midseason report, I will look back on my playoff predictions and edit them as I see fit. In this case, I only see the need for one change: the Eastside Sharks will actually make the playoffs (not miss, as I predicted in game 514), and the Todavía Stills will be out due to an irreparable slump unforeseen at game 501.

Midseason Report: Archtown Arrows
Over the course of their time in cricket, the Archtown Arrows have held a stable roster. Unfortunately for them, the roster has grown a bit stale after fading late last season. This season, the results have been worse, with their inability to win on the road now undermined by a slagging home effort as well. The cumulative results halfway through the season see the Arrows occupying 19th in the league, with a 14-18 record that is skewed a bit by a recent losing streak. The Arrows at 11-9 at home, which is a good mark until you realize how dominant they were at home last season. Coupled with a 3-9 road record, the Arrows have few bright spots for their season. One of those bright spots is a 5-3 division record in a highly competitive East Division, which could bode well as 12 of their 32 remaining games are divisional.

UPCL Cricket: Week 19 Part 3
Here's the last segment of the week. We begin with...
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: The Defenders look for a sweep as they prepare for a doubleheader as well. Boots did well on her lead-off turn, smacking 511 for Southridge to stake out a lead on. Panda couldn't get close, hitting only 176 for Southern in a poor appearance. Debby tacked on 368 for the Defenders, adding nicely to their lead. Shannon lifted 200 for the Monarchs, who appear overwhelmed again halfway through this game. J. Garcia posted 408 for Southridge, extending their lead by a significant amount. Kirstin launched 902 for Southern, shocking even their own fans as the game is now close with a player each to go. Shaggy took 272 for the Defenders, placing them at 1559, which isn't exactly comfortable. Nicole made a couple of desperation saves for the Monarchs, but her 168 left them short at 1446. Southridge staved off the late threat to go to 14-23, while Southern is 11-33, officially destined for a losing season.

Chris led off with an average 280 for Capital City. Slinks can't get her season on track, taking a mediocre 112 for Harrison. Missy was far from dazzling for the Sharpshooters, adding just 192 on her turn. Twinkie II went with 328 for the Specters, pulling them much closer. Sprinkles fired back with 506 for Capital City, solidifying their lead a bit more. Sydney didn't get it all back, but her 439 for Harrison kept them in range with a player each to go. Dani had just 112 to put the Sharpshooters at 1090 as their final score. Brownie's 200 left the Specters narrowly short at 1079, taking a tough loss. Capital City snaps a five-game road losing streak to get to 15-21 while bumping Harrison to 15-23.
Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: A pair of lowly West Division teams meet up for their first game this season. Panda couldn't handle a low-rolling ball, deflecting it to his stumps for a lowly score of 87 for Southern. Smudge got a bit unlucky with a deflection ending her turn at 192 for Infinity. UPCL Cricket: Week 19 Part 1
We're back with a short turnaround as we try to make up the deficit of time for the league week. We begin with...
Starbucks Cup, Archtown: Crystal played a sharp turn to open the game with 512 for Queens, a team in position to sweep the season series. Sally bumbled to 21 points for Archtown, and they'll trail at the start. Kayla pounded another 515 for the Flames, who own a well-asserted lead. Sleepy B. covered that damage with 553 for the Arrows, keeping the deficit steady. Max answered with 355 for Queens, adding a bit more to their lead. Ruby got Archtown a lot closer, swinging 640 to shrink the deficit late in the game. Paige had 231 for the Flames, bringing them to a total of 1613. Dusky couldn't make a rally of it, putting up 279 as the Arrows lose with 1493. Queens is up to 11-24, while Archtown falls to 13-15 at the start of a busy week for the sheltered side.

Sally bumbled to 21 points for Archtown, and they'll trail at the start. Kayla pounded another 515 for the Flames, who own a well-asserted lead. Sleepy B. covered that damage with 553 for the Arrows, keeping the deficit steady. Max answered with 355 for Queens, adding a bit more to their lead. Ruby got Archtown a lot closer, swinging 640 to shrink the deficit late in the game. Paige had 231 for the Flames, bringing them to a total of 1613. Dusky couldn't make a rally of it, putting up 279 as the Arrows lose with 1493. Queens is up to 11-24, while Archtown falls to 13-15 at the start of a busy week for the sheltered side.
McDonald's Pitch at Pirates Park, Atlantic: The Pirates seek a sweep of the Rockers after getting a critical road win earlier in the campaign. Misty slugged 1041 to give Westside a massive early advantage. Delila's second-half slump continued when she had a measly 57 for Atlantic. Goatee didn't exactly impress either, hitting a meager 16 for the Rockers, but their lead is relatively safe. Amber recovered 550 for the Pirates, halving the deficit. Midnight supplied 330 for Westside, protecting their lead well. Americus sliced 466 for Atlantic, pulling them closer again with the solid effort. Chicky Phil tacked on 431 to give the Rockers 1818, which should be enough to win. Dominic couldn't catch up, scoring 320 as the Pirates lost with 1393 total. Westside salvages a season split, moving up to 12-23, while Atlantic gets dumped to 20-14.
Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Tridents are in line for a sweep after beating the Swifts in their home opener. Strawberry led off with a solid 401 for Pronger. Patches did not start well, as her 113 sees Boston trailing to start the game. Hoot could have kept going, but his early swing ended his turn at 399, boosting the Tridents lead. Puff II managed only 193 for the Swifts, still unable to shake her troubles. Precious belted 1951 to put the game firmly in Pronger's control, and to virtually assure her team their first regional player of the week honor. Gradley had a modest attempt at a rally, pounding 550 for Boston, but it won't make a difference. Paps tapped 128 to give the Tridents 2879 in their win. Sweetheart failed with 49 for the Swifts, giving them only 905 in the loss. Pronger has the season's most surprising sweep, going to 13-22, while Boston is down to 26-14 on a three-game losing streak that is taking them out of the challenger role near the top of the standings.
Capital City SuperCenter: The Sharpshooters look to get on track against a slumping opponent. Starlight swatted a quick 528 to give Pacific a stable base. Chris got jammed on his turn, producing 248 for Capital City as they start from behind. Ms. Kitty supplemented the Volcanoes lead with 635, giving them a lot of control. Missy grabbed 330 for the Sharpshooters, trying to keep them in range. Jack faltered with 120 for Pacific, allowing their lead to lose a bit of stability. Sprinkles covered some of the deficit with her 295 for Capital City, but they have a long way to go and not much time to get there. Leonette turned in 396 to put the Volcanoes at 1679 total. Dani's home slump is at a new low, as she had only 8 for the Sharpshooters, leaving them at 881. Pacific jumps to 23-13, while Capital City is floundering on a four-game losing streak at 14-21.
Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: These Northeastern rivals meet again for the return match next week as well. Shadow struggled his way to 209 for Web City in the opening turn. Twilight virtually doubled that with 417 to give Central the initial lead. Rainmane couldn't settle a ball with her backhand, scoring only 253 for the Spiders. Dustin's slump continues as he adds just 115 for the Warriors, destabilizing their lead. Sugar made a big impact with her 599 for Web City, giving them a sizable lead. Noelle closed the gap a bit with her 384 for Central, keeping them in range late in the game. Shiny didn't help a lot with 178 for the Spiders, putting them at a final of 1239. Gizmo charged with 494 for the Warriors, swiping the win at 1410 overall. Central gets a big division win to go to 23-16, while Web City is 18-17 after their six-game winning streak gets snapped.
Nike Field, Commerce: The Arrows look for the sweep over the league's #2 team after an early-season win at home. Sally had a solid 326 to begin for Archtown. Tigerette slammed 677 for Commerce, establishing a big lead for the hosts. Sleepy B. chopped another 450 for the Arrows, covering the deficit as she displayed excellence with the bat in keeping her turn going. Ice Cream put up 280 for the Tradewinds. Ruby failed to cover the deficit, taking a meager 176 for Archtown. Lionel screwed up with a pathetic 33 for Commerce, making it a close game with a player each to go. Dusky didn't make a great campaign, adding 161 to put the Arrows at 1113. Lorde had 168, putting the Tradewinds at 1158, which sufficed for the win. Commerce holds second place still at 28-12, while Archtown drops to 13-16 as they embark on a road trip.
The Intel Pitch, Diamond: The Tridents try to avoid a sweep in their throwback uniforms against a major rival. Strawberry crushed 955 for Pronger in an amazing blitz attack to start the game. Smokey didn't get much back, scoring 288 for Diamond on his turn. Hoot cranked another 690 for the Tridents to extend their lead nicely. Citrus produced 255 for the Gems very quickly, but in an unsustainable way that ultimately caused her trouble. Precious slugged another 1284 for Pronger, cementing their lead and her status as this week's best player very early on. Pedey supplied 367 for a downtrodden Diamond side. Paps went simple with 208 to give the Tridents their grand total of 3137. Cassandra made a valiant rally with 690 for the Gems, giving them an even 1600 in the brutal loss. Pronger is looking hot on the road post-break, but still are only 14-22, while Diamond is at 18-22 with their playoff hopes dimming.
HP Field, Eastside: The Tradewinds seek the sweep here against a recently potent Sharks offense. Tigerette belted 1163 for Commerce to lead things off. Graham lost a bit of control and ended with 274 for Eastside in a reasonable effort. Ice Cream got beat on an odd bounce, but still tacked on a big 688 for the Tradewinds. Chelsea broke form as the Sharks are panicking, taking just 152 herself. Lionel padded the Commerce lead by striking 720, and they hold a firm grip on the game. Taylor scooped up 368 for Eastside as they try to save face in this one. Lorde got quickly overwhelmed, posting 102 to give the Tradewinds a likely winning final of 2673. Niki made it look better than it was, slicing 720 to put the Sharks at 1514 in the loss that snapped a six-game home winning streak. Commerce is closing the gap on first as they are at 29-12 (three games back), while Eastside drops to 20-18.
Chevrolet Field, Everton: The league leaders look to gain separation in a soft matchup. Mr. Snowman levied 714 for Viewpoint Sound in his opener, marking a very solid foundation for the visitors. Goldy fumbled with 113 for Everton, putting them in early trouble. Mams had a bad turn as well, taking a measly 51 for the Meteors, which could hurt them. Puff III made a deep cut into the deficit, lining 625 for the Eagles to get close at the halfway mark. Zach didn't inspire much confidence with 180 for Viewpoint Sound, making them quite vulnerable. Cleo proved reliable for Everton, adding 407 to their score as they take the late lead. Kelly had just 128, and the Meteors lost with 1073 total, squandering a hot start quite badly. Blizzard went big with 1014 for the Eagles, sealing their win at 2159. Everton's dominant victory sends them to 33-9, while Viewpoint Sound slides to 14-19.
Toyota Pitch, Freedom: The Volcanoes can sweep here after winning back home in week 3 over a stronger-than-normal Cascades team. Starlight batted 378 for Pacific, giving them a decent start. Jasmine got tangled up with a few deflections, and managed 101 for Freedom as they'll start from behind. Ms. Kitty got a bit lost on her turn, producing just 176 as the Volcanoes are not yet safe. Stinky went big with 659 for the Cascades, pulling them ahead halfway through the game. Jack tallied 279 for Pacific, covering the deficit but not much else. Roxy took care of it with 361 for Freedom, restoring a better lead for them. Leonette couldn't pick up the slack, taking just 176 and leaving the Volcanoes with a loss on 1009 total. Nikolai had a bad double-hit, scoring a measly 6, but the Cascades won with 1127. Freedom gets the upset to go to 20-17, while Pacific drops to 23-14.
Amazon Field, Golden: The Pilots wrap up this part of the week with a potentially tough game. Strawberry suffered a tough bounce and had only 138 for Pronger. Valencia knocked 609 for Golden at the start, a good opener. Hoot closed the gap well with 450 for the Tridents, but they still trail a bit. Dusty dug in with 331 for the Pilots to maintain their lead decently. Precious was solid with 399 for Pronger, once again reducing the deficit facing the visitors. Strut kept Golden holding on with a fairly normal 327 to take a lead into the final players. Paps couldn't handle the pressure, scoring a weak 67 and tagging the Tridents with a loss on 1054 overall. A. Charlton capped the Pilots win with 656 herself for 1923 collectively. Golden's impressive win takes them to 19-15, while Pronger is 14-23 now as their magic has run out again.
