Midseason Report: Archtown Arrows

Over the course of their time in cricket, the Archtown Arrows have held a stable roster. Unfortunately for them, the roster has grown a bit stale after fading late last season. This season, the results have been worse, with their inability to win on the road now undermined by a slagging home effort as well. The cumulative results halfway through the season see the Arrows occupying 19th in the league, with a 14-18 record that is skewed a bit by a recent losing streak. The Arrows at 11-9 at home, which is a good mark until you realize how dominant they were at home last season. Coupled with a 3-9 road record, the Arrows have few bright spots for their season. One of those bright spots is a 5-3 division record in a highly competitive East Division, which could bode well as 12 of their 32 remaining games are divisional.

As a team, the Arrows have a decent offense with a team average 1471 points per game. While that pales in comparison to many highly ranked teams, it is also well above the dregs of the league. Leading the team off for a third season is Sally, who recently had to deal with retirement rumors as part of a soon-to-be-addressed bloc of players likely leaving the league. Sally is hitting 349 per game this season, with a point share of 23.5%, which plays a bit to the high-offense of the team. Sally is around 1.45 in consistency as well, making her a very reliable source of points. Behind her is Sleepy B., whose 434 point average leads the team, accounting for a 29.5% share of the offense. Sleepy B.'s explosiveness is limited, with a consistency over 1.5. The high offense and high consistency have her as a certifiable force, and maybe the next captain for the team should Sally leave. Behind her, Ruby contributes 365 per game to make up 25% of the team offense. Ruby also holds approximately 1.5 in consistency, which makes her a little better than the average player this season. At the back of the roster, Dusky hits 322 per game, for a 22% share of the offense. Dusky has a consistency just under 1.5 as well, making this one stable team. The problem with consistency for the Arrows is that they are consistently sub-par, and that is going to be what keeps them out of the playoffs this year, which will lead to changes in the roster.
