Midseason Report: Westside Rockers

Last season proved eventful for the Westside Rockers. At the 2014 draft, they picked Ashley, who never made an appearance for the club. Ashley was replaced by the twins Kelly and Alyssa, who both drastically underperformed, holding the Rockers back a bit. They both left to the west for this season, and Midnight came from the neighboring Commerce Tradewinds in their stead. The results have not been as strong as expected for a team with an experienced core. After reaching midway with the Infinity Torpedoes (report to follow after this one), the Rockers have an 11-21 record that sees them in 30th in the league. At home, the Rockers carry a 7-10 record, which is not good but looks much better than the 4-11 road mark. The Rockers play in the soft Center Division, but they are contributing to the softness with a 4-7 division mark that is in line with the rest of their production.

The team averages 1265 points per game as a whole, a very paltry offense that makes their current standing very understandable. Misty is the captain of this sinking ship, holding an average of 360 as she does decently well for the team. Her consistency is 1.5, and she holds a 28.5% share of the offense, making her one of the better options on the team. Behind her is longtime teammate Goatee, who leads the way with an average of 417, making up 33% of the offense all by herself. Goatee is just under 1.5 in consistency as well, as the team's offense is quite consistent if not top-heavy. The newly-acquired Midnight takes the third slot in the hitting order, and Midnight is good for only 224 points per game, one of the worst marks around the league. This represents just 18% of the offense, and her consistency of 1.3 is more disturbing than helpful given the pitiful average. Rounding out the team is second-year Rocker Chicky Phil, who takes 262 points per game, good for 21% of the offense. Chicky Phil's second season on the team is earning him a 1.3 consistency as he produces sub-average performances. On the whole, the damage is likely already too much for the Rockers to overcome, and they are an easy pick to miss the playoffs.
