The Viewpoint Sound Meteors knew their success last season was very lucky, fueled by an outrageous stretch of good play by Mr. Snowman. He stayed with the team, but Lydia and Stripes were allowed to walk in the draft, going to the Lighton Prestige and Terrace City Knights, respectively. Coming in to replace them, the Meteors drafted actual rookie Zach, and de facto rookie and former Westside Rocker Kelly to flesh out the bottom of the roster. The results have not been as expected, with the Meteors in 21st place on a 14-18 record overall. They're doing well enough at home, breaking even at 9-9, but their road record of 5-9 leaves a lot to be desired. The Meteors play in a tough West Division, and they've failed to keep up there, with just a 3-8 division mark.
The Meteors own a team average of 1296 points per game, which is not enough given the state of the offenses in the league this year. The aforementioned Mr. Snowman captains and leads the team in batting order, holding an average of 337 so far this season, good for 26% of the offense. Mr. Snowman also carries a consistency of about 1.35, which makes him a stable source of offense. Behind him, Mams is likely the next player to find the door for this team, as her average of 246 is bad no matter what standard you use. Mams carries just 19% of the offense, and has a consistency near 1.3 as well, which makes her a very non-threatening part of the lineup. Behind her, the rookie Zach impresses with a 377 average to lead the team, making up 29% of the total offense by himself. Zach is at about 1.5 in consistency as well, making him quite reliable to produce in any given game or situation as needed. Rounding out the roster is the quasi-rookie Kelly, in her first full year of play. Kelly has a 334 average, which is sufficient for a 26% share of the offense. While she carries her weight compared to the team, her consistency also ranks over 1.5, making her an even more steady contributor of fairly average points. On the whole, the Meteors just simply do not score enough to inspire any sort of confidence. If the offense was stronger, they might have a chance, but as they stand now, they won't make the playoffs this season.
