The Modernistic Union lost arguably their best player at the end of last season after a mutual termination situation sent Kiwi out the door to the Terrace City Knights as the first overall pick in this season's draft. Replacing the venerable leader was the rookie Juno, who hasn't matched production perfectly but has done well enough. The team current stands in 24th place in the league, with a 13-19 record. The venue doesn't seem to matter much to the Union, with a 7-10 home record and a very similar 6-9 record on the road, making them a mediocre team all over the map. In the Center Division, the Union carry a 4-5 record, which won't blow anyone away, but is better than their other marks.
The Union have a reasonable average offense as a team, scoring 1454 per game, which means they might be a bit unlucky to have such a poor record. Juno is in the lead-off role for the Union, and she hits about 343, a serviceable mark that accounts for 23.5% of the team offense. Juno has a consistency of about 1.2, making her a more explosive player on the team. Behind her is the steady veteran Ms. Puppy, who easily leads the team with her 428 point average, good for 29.5% of the offense all by herself. Ms. Puppy also has a 1.3 consistency, which is fairly average compared to the rest of the league. Next up is the notorious enigma, Chimpy, who has a 346 average this season. He produces 24% of the team offense, at a consistency of about 1.3 as well, providing a steady presence in the middle of the lineup. Rounding out the team is Puff I, with a 336 average despite being considered a good play. She scores 23% of the offense, and is also clocking in with a consistency at 1.2, making her a bit of a volatile product. Nothing about the way the Union play really blows anyone away, and they're not getting favorable results despite an average product. They may improve a little bit in the second half of their season, but I doubt it will be enough. I see the Union finishing narrowly outside of the playoffs.
