Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Taylor S. v. Kayla. Two competitive and talented players battle in 13-ball with the red cue to open the day. Commerce's Taylor S. stepped up with a five-ball run-out on only her third turn of the game, stunning Royal's Kayla very early on. Taylor S. leads the series 1-0. The Tradewinds' Taylor S. calmed down a bit in game 2, but her offense was still steady and sharp, in stark contrast to the listless shooting of the Crowns' Kayla. Taylor S. easily claimed the win for a 2-0 series lead. Taylor S. couldn't get positioning on her last ball in game 3, while Kayla slowly and patiently attacked at the end before ultimately grabbing the win. Taylor S. will settle for a 2-1 series win that pits her against the Central Warriors' Wings in the second round.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Bright v. Ruby. Experienced veterans deal out another series of 13-ball with the red cue. Todavía's Ruby was a little too cute in game 1, missing some easy shots, while Pearl's Bright took positioning late and eventually won for a 1-0 series lead. The Stills' Ruby made a better attack with a four-ball run in game 2, and she held off the Surfers' Bright at the top left before knocking in the last two balls to get the win. Ruby has tied the series at 1. Bright had better luck in game 3, as he didn't scratch late like Ruby did. Bright still had to earn his shot on the 8, which he kicked to the bottom right for the win and 2-1 series win. Bright will play in round two.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: Waluigi v. Ms. Kitty. The red cue remains at the center of the action with this 7-ball series. Pacific's Ms. Kitty had too many mistakes in game 1, which led to Web City's Waluigi making four balls over the final two turns for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Spiders' Waluigi looked sharp again with a three-ball run-out in game 2 after the Volcanoes' Ms. Kitty butchered her look on the 5. Waluigi's win secured the series in his favor at 2-0. Ms. Kitty managed to snag a win in game 3 after sticking Waluigi in a tough defensive position. Ms. Kitty's win gave Waluigi a 2-1 series win to take with him to the second round.
Google Hall, Modernistic: Puff I v. Briana. The blue cue takes a turn in 15-ball. Modernistic's Puff I scratched on the game 1 break, allowing Queens' Briana to look like a genius by ending a three-ball run with the 2-15 combination to the bottom right. Unfortunately, Briana also scratched, and Puff I was gifted the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Union's Puff I peaked too early in game 2, making a late six-ball run but allowing the Flames' Briana to answer with the last two shots of the game. Briana did so cleanly for the win, tying the series at 1. Puff I timed her attack better in game 3, with a four-ball run and a pair on consecutive turns to smother Briana while Puff I grabbed the win. This gave Puff I a 2-1 series win to propel her to the second round.
Starbucks Arena, Archtown: A. Charlton v. Nibbles. The blue cue stays up for some 10-ball. Archtown's Charlton started with a three-ball run from the start of game 1, and added a pair at the end as she controlled the pace of play in her win over Viewpoint Sound's Nibbles. Charlton leads the series 1-0. The Arrows' Charlton picked up most of her offense at the end of game 2 with five balls over the last two turns after a bad scratch from the Meteors' Nibbles. Charlton's heavy late attack sealed the series for her at 2-0. Charlton eased up a bit in game 3, allowing Nibbles to make his move effectively at the end with three balls over two turns to grab the win. Charlton still won the series 2-1, and will head to the second round.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Bright v. Mitchell. A couple of casual-style players clash in 9-ball with the silver cue. Three-ball runs dominated game 1, as Pearl's Bright had one sandwiched by two such turns for Victoria's Mitchell, who took the win on the latter of his runs. Mitchell leads 1-0 in the series. The Spurs' Mitchell made a five-ball run in the middle of game 2, but lost possession. The Surfers' Bright failed to do anything on the 8, and Mitchell pushed back with a pair of shots for the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Bright had a four-ball run in the middle of game 3, and he added the 9 at the top left at the end to make sure it didn't go to waste. Mitchell still won the series 2-1 to earn his spot in round two.
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Missy v. Noelle. Two veterans tenured with their teams meet in 10-ball with the red cue. Capital City's Missy started with a three-ball run in game 1, but Central's Noelle made four balls over two turns at the end to cap her win to earn the 1-0 series lead. Neither player did that well in game 2, but it was the Warriors' Noelle who missed a simple shot on the 10 to allow the Sharpshooters' Missy to grab the win with a long tap-in. Missy's victory tied the series at 1 after the sloppy game. Missy pushed late in game 3 with a four-ball run, but she missed contact on a hard cut for the 10, and that allowed Noelle to take the win from ball-in-hand. Noelle won the series 2-1 as well, moving along to the second round.
Apple Center, Todavía: Sierra v. Sprinkles. Former clubmates clash in 9-ball using the silver cue. Capital City's Sprinkles had a three-ball run on her first turn in game 1, and then made the 9 by deflecting a shot off the 4 on the next turn to defeat Todavía's Sierra, who lacked offense. Sprinkles leads the series 1-0. The Sharpshooters' Sprinkles saw a run end in game 2 on a scratch, but she was off the hook when the Stills' Sierra cleared the table on a four-ball run that saw her scratch on the 9. Sprinkles took the gifted win to clinch the series at 2-0. Sprinkles had her best game of the series in game 3, finishing with a crisp six-ball run-out with great positioning to sweep Sierra out 3-0. Sprinkles advances to the second round.
UPS Hall, Maplewood: Diddley v. Steven. The red cue is set to play in Accuracy between these veterans. Maplewood's Diddley faltered just a bit too much in game 1, as he got Atlantic's Steven to trip up late but not enough to force overtime. Steven won 2-3, taking a 1-0 series lead in the process. The Pirates' Steven missed only once in a blowout win in game 2, as the Lumberjacks' Diddley couldn't find a rhythm early in the game. Steven's 1-6 win sealed the series for him at 2-0. Diddley bounced back in the throwaway game 3, slipping a little at the end but holding on to win 2-3. Steven took the series 2-1 and will head to the second round.

Pearl's Beth started with a four-ball run in game 1, but Lighton's Acorn got the win by making the last nine balls over three turns to go ahead 1-0 in the series. The Surfers' Beth came out on top in game 2, battling in a much closer contest with the Prestige's Acorn, whose offense seemed to dry up by the end of the game. Beth's win tied the series at 1. Game 3 saw a return to all-out offense, with Acorn and Beth exchanging four-ball runs at one point. Beth prevailed at the end with a three-ball run-out, banking the 15 to the bottom side to advance on a 2-1 series win.
Nissan Hall, Infinity: Smudge v. Mario. The silver cue gets a look at 8-ball between inconsistent players. Infinity's Smudge scratched three times in game 1 and still managed to pot the 8 before Queens' Mario could get a clear look at it. Smudge can thank a four-ball run at one point for helping her to a 1-0 series lead. The Flames' Mario had a stronger attack in game 2, but he missed on the 8. The Torpedoes' Smudge sandwiched Mario's offense with a five-ball run and a three-ball run-out, as the host won again to clinch the series at 2-0. Smudge fell behind initially in game 3, but she pulled herself together on a big run and eventually bested Mario yet again for the 3-0 series sweep. Smudge will play in round two.
Nissna Hall, Infinity: Hughbert v. Daisy. In the other half of the venue doubleheader, the red cue administers an 8-ball series. Infinity's Hughbert started on a five-ball run in game 1, and he added another pair as Modernistic's Daisy pressured him. Hughbert missed on the 8, leaving it as a tap-in at the top right for Daisy, who took the 1-0 series lead. Daisy and Hughbert each had shorter runs and a bit shakier grasp on the offense, but it was Daisy who prevailed again in the end after Hughbert left a cluster near the bottom right. Daisy secured the series at 2-0. Daisy split the difference in her approaches in game 3, winning this time with a pair of three-ball runs after Hughbert couldn't reignite his offense. Daisy's 3-0 series sweep places her in the second round.
Samsung Arena, Whitewater: Shaggy v. Missy. We've got 9-ball for the penultimate series of the day, using the blue cue. Whitewater's Shaggy seemed to have the advantage on offense in game 1, but she allowed Capital City's Missy to steal the win with a pair of late shots. Missy owns a 1-0 series lead. The Sharpshooters' Missy was satisfied with contact plays in game 2 while the Shores' Shaggy did a lot of the ball-potting. Missy then swiped the game with a 5-9 combination to the top right to clinch the series at 2-0 with the stunner. Shaggy had a chance to win game 3 on a 3-9 combination to the top right, but she scratched as it fell, gifting Missy the win and the 3-0 series sweep that puts Missy in the second round.
Chevrolet Center, Everton: Puff III v. Jake. The final series today is in 8-ball with the blue cue. Royal's Jake took his time in creating offense in game 1, as Everton's Puff III got close to the win very quickly, but Jake roared back on an eight-ball run-out for the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Crowns' Jake faced much more present resistance from the Eagles' Puff III in a back-and-forth game 2, but Jake emerged with the win again on a three-ball run-out. Jake's victory clinched the series at 2-0. Jake didn't provide much offense in game 3, unable to find his way in the attack. Puff III gladly took the win to avoid the sweep as Jake advances to the second round on a 2-1 series win.

Tournament 2019 - Round 1 Day 11
The third week of the Tournament is here, beginning with...
McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Jason N. v. Gabe. The red cue will open the week with this 9-ball series. Atlantic's Jason N. started with a three-ball run in game 1, but after two missed-contact fouls, Maplewood's Gabe assembled a four-ball run-out of his own for the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Lumberjacks' Gabe posted a five-ball run over the middle of game 2, but he came up short at the bottom right, and the Pirates' Jason N. gladly converted the 9 at the end to tie the series at 1 with his win. Jason N. got a little lucky after a fairly even game 3, as Gabe scratched to end a three-ball run. Jason N. took the last two shots for the win and a 2-1 series win. Jason N. will play in the second round.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: Chicky Phil v. Spot. The red cue stays on as these two clever players meet in 15-ball. Web City's Chicky Phil finished strong in game 1 with his last two turns being a five-ball run and a three-ball run-out to defeat Pronger's Spot for the 1-0 series lead. The Spiders' Chicky Phil had a harder time on offense in game 2, but he finished well with a double-pot of the 10 to the bottom right and the 15 to the top side off the bank. Chicky Phil's win sealed his 2-0 series win over the Tridents' Spot, who was quiet once again. Spot wouldn't leave the bracket empty-handed, making nine of the last ten shots in game 3 to pick up a win as Chicky Phil coasted with the series in hand. Chicky Phil will get to the second round on a 2-1 series win.
Apple Center, Todavía: Easter v. Princess. Coastal rivals and very strong players in their own rights go at it in 9-ball with the blue cue. Todavía's Easter showed command by potting six of the last seven balls over three turns, while Viewpoint Sound's Princess melted with the pressure. Easter holds a 1-0 series lead. The Meteors' Princess squandered a couple of chances for offense in game 2, but the Stills' Easter faltered late and Princess was decisive in taking the win to tie the series at 1. Easter had a seven-ball run end in a scratch in game 3, allowing Princess to snag a cheap win for the 2-1 series win. Princess just barely did enough to take a spot in the second round.
AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Snuggle v. Kayla. The blue cue remains in action for this Rotation series between strong opponents. Oceanside's Snuggle began with a three-ball run and then plucked offense as he could, as Royal's Kayla didn't do nearly enough to pressure her host. Snuggle won 8-1 and took a 1-0 series lead. The Crowns' Kayla did well in game 2, falling behind after the Waves' Snuggle took an early lead but pushing back with a three-ball run-out at the end to win 8-4. Kayla's victory tied the series at 1. Snuggle stormed back with short runs in game 3, easily besting Kayla again 8-2 for the 2-1 series win. Snuggle's bursts of offense were enough to get him into a second-round series against the Harrison Specters' Sydney S.

Delila didn't dominate at any stage of game 3, but took advantage of Taylor M.'s mistakes late in the game to get another win. Delila swept the series 3-0 to advance to the second round.
Toyota Arena, Freedom: Stripes v. Gizmo. Another regional derby goes in 13-ball with the red cue. Eastside's Gizmo had a jump from the start of game 1, never falling behind Freedom's Stripes. Gizmo had a few lucky touches to help his cause, but he finished with skill to earn the 1-0 series lead. The Sharks' Gizmo had another hot start in game 2, but he got out of position toward the end of the game, and the Cascades' Stripes did well to attack that. Stripes surged to the win with a pair of easy tap-ins to tie the series at 1. Stripes pulled ahead early in game 3 after Gizmo had a modest start. Stripes wouldn't back down, attacking with a three-ball run-out to get the win in the end for a 2-1 series win. Stripes will meet the North Modernistic Nighthawks' Gal in the second round.

Midland's Rainmane proved unable to get a strong hold on the offense in game 1, splitting most shots early on before Pearl's Watermelon knocked down the 15 after Rainmane missed. The Predators' Rainmane made a gutsy attempt at the 5-15 combination to the top left, but the 15 hung onto the pocket's edge, and Watermelon double-potted those balls for the early win to secure the series at 2-0. Watermelon went off with a five-ball run at the start of game 3, and then added a four-ball run-out in a dominant showing to sweep Rainmane 3-0. Watermelon's strong play puts her in the second round.

The Sharks' Chelsea looked a little better near the end of game 2, but she missed on the 14, and the Tradewinds' Niki potted the last two shots for another close win to seal the series at 2-0. Chelsea again had moments of attack in game 3, especially late, but a miss on the 14 allowed Niki to pot the last two balls to earn the win for a 3-0 series sweep. Niki rides the strong series to the second round.
Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Gradley v. Sarah. More 15-ball follows with the blue cue. Tysini's Sarah was slipping in possession in game 1 when she scratched late in the game. Boston's Gradley was solid with a three-ball run-out from there for the 1-0 series lead. Game 2 was much more evenly distributed on offense, with the Hummingbirds' Sarah grabbing the win after the Swifts' Gradley missed on the 15 at the end. Sarah's win tied the series at 1. Gradley began with a five-ball run in game 3, but Sarah was also sharp until a late miss on the 15. Gradley took advantage of the rookie's mistake, burying the 15 for a 2-1 series win that gets him into the second round.
Intel Center, Diamond: Shadow v. Bells. The red cue cycles into action for a 13-ball series between veterans. Diamond's Shadow and Todavía's Bells followed similar patterns around the table, but Bells had better positioning as she picked up the game 1 win for a 1-0 series lead. The Stills' Bells had a decent start in game 2, but she couldn't sustain the attack, and the Gems' Shadow roared back with a four-ball run to pull even. He then made the last two shots of the game to win, evening the series at 1. Shadow started with a three-ball run from the break, and he took a few risks for better positioning. Bells was more cautious, but it didn't pay off, as Shadow ended on a three-ball run-out to take the series 2-1. Shadow will visit Mitchell of the Victoria Spurs in the second round.
Intel Center, Diamond: Pedey v. Rosalina. The second half of a venue doubleheader sees a 7-ball Bloodbath Derby with the silver cue. Whitewater's Rosalina nearly made a 1-7 combination to the bottom right on her first shot, but Diamond's Pedey answered with a 1-3-7 combination to the same location for the win on his second turn. Pedey leads the series 1-0. The Shores' Rosalina did a little better in game 2, enough to get the win late when the Gems' Pedey left the 7 standing for his former teammate. Rosalina's win tied the series at 1. Pedey weathered an attack from Rosalina early in game 3, but popped back with a four-ball run-out to win it himself. Pedey claimed the series at 2-1 and will play in round two.
AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Jason V. v. Puff I. The silver cue is placed into a much less antagonistic series of Rotation. Oceanside's Jason V. started quite well, but Modernistic's Puff I tied it on a three-ball run. Jason V. would not be denied, taking the 8-4 win with a four-ball run-out for the 1-0 series lead. The Union's Puff I staked out a nice lead to start the game, and kept it going throughout. The Waves' Jason V. wanted to make a slow comeback effort, but he scratched on the 9. Puff I buried it for an 8-2 win to tie the series at 1. Puff I rattled off a few short runs in game 3, ending with a three-ball run-out to win 8-3 after Jason V. scratched. Puff I will take on Solaris of the Commerce Tradewinds in the second round.
GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Debby v. Brownie. The day ends with the blue cue administering 7-ball. Southridge's Debby made two balls on the break, but still almost lost as Royal's Brownie answered with a four-ball run. Debby was lucky Brownie missed the 7, and Debby converted for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Debby took a calculated risk late in game 2, but it didn't pan out as she scratched on the 6. The Crowns' Brownie gladly took the 7 from ball-in-hand, tying the series at 1. Brownie made Debby pay for her gamble from game 2 by winning game 3 on a five-ball run-out. Brownie took the series 2-1 to get to the second round.

The Spiders' Chicky Phil trailed after a scratch in game 2, but he was able to get the Spurs' Mitchell to miss on the last ball. Overtime was slow-going, with Chicky Phil eventually winning 3-4 to clinch the series at 2-0. We're back, with Elite playing Thursday/Friday this week. First up...
Sony Stadium, Queens: The Flames welcome the Knights to open up week 13. Briana is out for the hosts while Melissa sits for the visitors, both resting after appearing on Tournament Day 8. Kiwi looked shaky with only 160 for Terrace City on the opening turn. Crystal fired off 497 for Queens on their first turn, putting the hosts noticeably ahead. Jennifer slipped at 205 for the Knights, as they're struggling to find their swings on the road. Violetta also struggled with 128 for the Flames, an unusually weak turn from the dynamic third-year player. Oreo lined 553 for Terrace City, righting the ship after an ugly start to the game. Mario knocked 725 for Queens in response, keeping the hosts ahead late in the game. Quincy had an honest effort for the Knights, but he was downed at 230 and they lost with 1148. Hannah missed a defensive play, ending at 329 as the Flames won with 1679 overall. Queens jumps to 16-10, pushing Terrace City back to 15-13.
Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: Nightfur will be on the bench for the Crowns, while the visiting Volcanoes rest Cowzart to begin a road doubleheader. Tournament 2019 - Round 1 Day 9
Today's Tournament action begins in...
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Pounce v. Steven. The red cue gets the first look today for 9-ball. Both players made reasonable pushes on offense in game 1, but it was Atlantic's Steven tapping the 9 to the top right after Southern's Pounce left it short. Steven took the 1-0 series lead with his win. The Pirates' Steven made six balls over his last two turns in game 2, but he left the 9 short at the bottom left. The Monarchs' Pounce had no trouble converting that to get a win for himself, tying the series at 1. Steven struck early in game 3, bouncing a shot off the 7 to drive the 9 to the top right for the early win. Steven defeated Pounce 2-1 in the series and will take his spot in the second round.
IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Lionel v. Caitlin. The red cue stays up for this 7-ball series between veterans. North Modernistic's Lionel picked up the win in game 1 after a back-and-forth battle with Southridge's Caitlin, as he tapped the 7 to the bottom right to go up 1-0 in the series. The Nighthawks' Lionel did it again in game 2, posting a four-ball run and then answering the call when the Defenders' Caitlin flubbed a late chance on the 7. Lionel's win secured the series for him at 2-0. Caitlin was flustered by game 3, and she made many mistakes. Lionel impressively finished with a bank of the 3 off the 7 to the top side, which double-potted the 7 to the bottom left for the win. Lionel swept the series 3-0 to get to the second round.
Kraft Forum, Royal: Brownie v. Shaggy. A couple of league originals meet in 10-ball with the blue cue. Royal's Brownie started with a three-ball run in game 1, but Whitewater's Shaggy made the 2 and deflected a shot off the 3 to send the 10 to the bottom right as called for the win. Shaggy leads the series 1-0. The Crowns' Brownie broke away from the Shores' Shaggy in the middle of game 2, with Brownie executing a six-ball run-out in great form to tie the series at 1 with her win. Brownie and Shaggy exchanged short choppy runs in game 3, but it was Brownie who took the 10 by itself after Shaggy missed it at the bottom left. Brownie's 2-1 series win propels her to round two.
Intel Center, Diamond: Smokey v. Sprinkles. The red cue is back for 8-ball between two players entrenched with their teams. Diamond's Smokey started and ended with three-ball runs in game 1, a consistent pressure that proved too much for Capital City's Sprinkles. Smokey leads the series 1-0. The Sharpshooters' Sprinkles bounced back in game 2 with a four-ball run-out after holding mostly even with the Gems' Smokey early on. Sprinkles' late push for the win helped her earn the win to tie the series at 1. Smokey had most of the offense in game 3, but his six-ball run ended with the 8 falling illegally in the top side, gifting the win to Sprinkles, who also took the series 2-1 to make it into the second round.
Kraft Forum, Royal: Jake v. Sarah. Back in 10-ball with the blue cue, a veteran meets a rookie. Royal's Jake paced the attack early on, but one scratch ruined his game, and Tysini's Sarah worked a three-ball run-out from there for the win. Sarah staked out a 1-0 series lead with the late push. Game 2 saw the players attack well early on before fading to the finish. The Hummingbirds' Sarah failed to adjust to the quality of play, while the Crowns' Jake bounced back and poked in the 10 to get the win, tying the series at 1. Jake and Sarah didn't make things look much better in game 3, until Jake managed a three-ball run. He missed on the 10, but Sarah did too, and Jake made it on his second try for the win and 2-1 series win. Jake is on to the second round.
Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Max v. Fuchsia. Southeastern rivals do battle in Accuracy with the silver cue. Golden's Max made the rack's middle ball on the game 1 break and held a lead for a bit, but fell into a tie to force overtime. Midland's Fuchsia missed one chance to win it, and then missed again to lose 3-4 to Max, who took a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 had the same energy, with the Pilots' Max taking the early lead and then blowing it near the end, but the Predators' Fuchsia couldn't force overtime this time, and Max walked away with the 2-3 win to clinch the series at 2-0. Neither player was motivated to do much with game 3, so Max picked up the 4-7 win in a sloppy battle that earned him a 3-0 sweep. Max is set to play in the second round.
UPS Hall, Maplewood: Summer v. Crystal. A motivated sophomore takes on a captain in Accuracy with the silver cue. Maplewood's Summer fell behind early in game 1, then managed to hold on long enough to force overtime, only to miss her only shot on the extra rack. Queens' Crystal gladly took the 4-5 win after blowing a couple of leads, going up 1-0 in the series. Both players improved in game 2 after a rough start to the battle, but it was the Flames' Crystal nabbing the 1-2 win as the Lumberjacks' Summer couldn't play any late defense. Crystal secured the series at 2-0. Crystal didn't put much effort into game 3, falling 1-3 to Summer, who made a much better showing in her consolation win. Crystal's 2-1 series win puts her into round two.
Starbucks Arena, Archtown: A. Charlton v. Pedey. The blue cue takes a look at 15-ball with this series. Archtown's Charlton had a couple of nice runs near the end of game 1, a four-ball run at first and a five-ball run-out filled with great positioning and a double-pot to take the win over Diamond's Pedey for the 1-0 series lead. The Arrows' Charlton stepped up again late in game 2 with a five-ball run-out after having sparred with the Gems' Pedey in a shaky early attack. Charlton's big run clinches the series for her at 2-0. Charlton didn't get a big run in game 3, as Pedey's failed combo for the win led to him scratching a couple of turns later. Charlton made the final pair of shots for the win, earning the 3-0 series sweep. Charlton will visit the Stonebridge Wolves' Hershey in the second round.

The two players exchanged three-ball runs in game 2, with the Blades' Sugar going first and the Tradewinds' Rosemary answering to close out the game cleanly for the win. Rosemary secured the series at 2-0 with the quick attack. Rosemary had some offense in game 3, but Sugar timed her strike on a three-ball run-out just in time to get the win. Rosemary settled for a 2-1 series win to take with her into the second round.
Nissan Hall, Infinity: Smudge v. Lexi. The silver cue stays in for 9-ball, which is the most popular event/stick combo so far. Infinity's Smudge started with a three-ball run in game 1, but Harrison's Lexi had a three-ball run-out at the end to grab the win for a 1-0 series lead on the timely attack. The Specters' Lexi scattered a little offense throughout the game, but made sure to capitalize on a late miss by the Torpedoes' Smudge. Lexi made the final two balls for the win, clinching the series at 2-0. Lexi battled evenly again with Smudge in game 3, but Lexi's timing remained prime with a pair of shots at the end for the win to earn the 3-0 series sweep. Lexi has found a spot for herself in the second round.
Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Twinkie II v. Klaus. Two highly talented players clash in Rotation with the silver cue. Atlantic's Klaus had a four-ball run to burst himself ahead of Harrison's Twinkie II. He was never threatened after that, as Klaus cruised to the 8-3 win for a 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Klaus had a three-ball run early on and then added a four-ball run-out at the end, smothering the Specters' Twinkie II with offense in an 8-2 win. Klaus' victory secured the series at 2-0 in his favor. Twinkie II finally kept up with Klaus in game 3, battling for every lead and eventually snatching an 8-6 win to avoid the sweep. Klaus took the series 2-1, and will face the Diamond Gems' Katelynn in the second round.
HP Field Events Center, Midland: Americus v. Ms. Puppy. The red cue comes back for this Accuracy series. Both players were sharp in game 1, with Midland's Americus just a little better by winning 0-1 over Modernistic's Ms. Puppy, who had just one long miss. Americus leads the series 1-0. The Predators' Americus refused to budge again in game 2, staying perfect while the Union's Ms. Puppy faltered in the middle of the game. Americus' 0-2 win in the game sealed the series for her at 2-0. Americus fell apart in game 3, but she still did well enough to win 3-4 after Ms. Puppy sportingly let her have the sweep at the end of the game. A 3-0 series win sends Americus to the second round.
Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Twilight v. Easter. Captains go at it in 10-ball with the blue cue. Neither player took command of game 1, and when Central's Twilight missed on the 10 at the end, Todavía's Easter picked up the scraps for the 1-0 series lead and a win. The Stills' Easter had a slow start in game 2, as the Warriors' Twilight made a three-ball run, but Easter pushed back with a 7-10 combination after some sustained pressure to pick up the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Easter and Twilight exchanged three-ball runs early in game 3, but the game tightened up at the end until Easter banked the 10 to the top right for the win to earn the 3-0 sweep. Easter will play in the second round.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Boots v. Gradley. The final series today is in 10-ball with the red cue. Pearl's Boots did a lot of the offense in game 1, but Boston's Gradley prevailed with late shots to pick up the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Swifts' Gradley still struggled to knock balls in during game 2, as the Surfers' Boots had a pair of four-ball runs. The latter of those runs won Boots the game, tying the series at 1. Boots again did as much as she could on offense, starting with three balls on the break, but she left the 10 at the top right for Gradley to cut in for the win. Gradley took the series 2-1 and will visit Pronger Tridents captain Precious in the second round.

IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Lionel v. Caitlin. The red cue stays up for this 7-ball series between veterans. North Modernistic's Lionel picked up the win in game 1 after a back-and-forth battle with Southridge's Caitlin, as he tapped the 7 to the bottom right to go up 1-0 in the series. The Nighthawks' Lionel did it again in game 2, posting a four-ball run and then answering the call when the Defenders' Caitlin flubbed a late chance on the 7. Lionel's win secured the series for him at 2-0. Caitlin was flustered by game 3, and she made many mistakes. Lionel impressively finished with a bank of the 3 off the 7 to the top side, which double-potted the 7 to the bottom left for the win. Lionel swept the series 3-0 to get to the second round.
Kraft Forum, Royal: Brownie v. Shaggy. A couple of league originals meet in 10-ball with the blue cue. Royal's Brownie started with a three-ball run in game 1, but Whitewater's Shaggy made the 2 and deflected a shot off the 3 to send the 10 to the bottom right as called for the win. Shaggy leads the series 1-0. The Crowns' Brownie broke away from the Shores' Shaggy in the middle of game 2, with Brownie executing a six-ball run-out in great form to tie the series at 1 with her win. Brownie and Shaggy exchanged short choppy runs in game 3, but it was Brownie who took the 10 by itself after Shaggy missed it at the bottom left. Brownie's 2-1 series win propels her to round two.
Intel Center, Diamond: Smokey v. Sprinkles. The red cue is back for 8-ball between two players entrenched with their teams. Diamond's Smokey started and ended with three-ball runs in game 1, a consistent pressure that proved too much for Capital City's Sprinkles. Smokey leads the series 1-0. The Sharpshooters' Sprinkles bounced back in game 2 with a four-ball run-out after holding mostly even with the Gems' Smokey early on. Sprinkles' late push for the win helped her earn the win to tie the series at 1. Smokey had most of the offense in game 3, but his six-ball run ended with the 8 falling illegally in the top side, gifting the win to Sprinkles, who also took the series 2-1 to make it into the second round.
Kraft Forum, Royal: Jake v. Sarah. Back in 10-ball with the blue cue, a veteran meets a rookie. Royal's Jake paced the attack early on, but one scratch ruined his game, and Tysini's Sarah worked a three-ball run-out from there for the win. Sarah staked out a 1-0 series lead with the late push. Game 2 saw the players attack well early on before fading to the finish. The Hummingbirds' Sarah failed to adjust to the quality of play, while the Crowns' Jake bounced back and poked in the 10 to get the win, tying the series at 1. Jake and Sarah didn't make things look much better in game 3, until Jake managed a three-ball run. He missed on the 10, but Sarah did too, and Jake made it on his second try for the win and 2-1 series win. Jake is on to the second round.
Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Max v. Fuchsia. Southeastern rivals do battle in Accuracy with the silver cue. Golden's Max made the rack's middle ball on the game 1 break and held a lead for a bit, but fell into a tie to force overtime. Midland's Fuchsia missed one chance to win it, and then missed again to lose 3-4 to Max, who took a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 had the same energy, with the Pilots' Max taking the early lead and then blowing it near the end, but the Predators' Fuchsia couldn't force overtime this time, and Max walked away with the 2-3 win to clinch the series at 2-0. Neither player was motivated to do much with game 3, so Max picked up the 4-7 win in a sloppy battle that earned him a 3-0 sweep. Max is set to play in the second round.
UPS Hall, Maplewood: Summer v. Crystal. A motivated sophomore takes on a captain in Accuracy with the silver cue. Maplewood's Summer fell behind early in game 1, then managed to hold on long enough to force overtime, only to miss her only shot on the extra rack. Queens' Crystal gladly took the 4-5 win after blowing a couple of leads, going up 1-0 in the series. Both players improved in game 2 after a rough start to the battle, but it was the Flames' Crystal nabbing the 1-2 win as the Lumberjacks' Summer couldn't play any late defense. Crystal secured the series at 2-0. Crystal didn't put much effort into game 3, falling 1-3 to Summer, who made a much better showing in her consolation win. Crystal's 2-1 series win puts her into round two.
Starbucks Arena, Archtown: A. Charlton v. Pedey. The blue cue takes a look at 15-ball with this series. Archtown's Charlton had a couple of nice runs near the end of game 1, a four-ball run at first and a five-ball run-out filled with great positioning and a double-pot to take the win over Diamond's Pedey for the 1-0 series lead. The Arrows' Charlton stepped up again late in game 2 with a five-ball run-out after having sparred with the Gems' Pedey in a shaky early attack. Charlton's big run clinches the series for her at 2-0. Charlton didn't get a big run in game 3, as Pedey's failed combo for the win led to him scratching a couple of turns later. Charlton made the final pair of shots for the win, earning the 3-0 series sweep. Charlton will visit the Stonebridge Wolves' Hershey in the second round.
Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Rosemary v. Sugar. The silver cue cycles in for 7-ball. Commerce's Rosemary triple-potted along the top rail in game 1, with the 3 in the top left, the 5 in the top right, and the 7 winning her the game at the top side for a 1-0 series lead over Swordpoint's Sugar. The two players exchanged three-ball runs in game 2, with the Blades' Sugar going first and the Tradewinds' Rosemary answering to close out the game cleanly for the win. Rosemary secured the series at 2-0 with the quick attack. Rosemary had some offense in game 3, but Sugar timed her strike on a three-ball run-out just in time to get the win. Rosemary settled for a 2-1 series win to take with her into the second round.
Nissan Hall, Infinity: Smudge v. Lexi. The silver cue stays in for 9-ball, which is the most popular event/stick combo so far. Infinity's Smudge started with a three-ball run in game 1, but Harrison's Lexi had a three-ball run-out at the end to grab the win for a 1-0 series lead on the timely attack. The Specters' Lexi scattered a little offense throughout the game, but made sure to capitalize on a late miss by the Torpedoes' Smudge. Lexi made the final two balls for the win, clinching the series at 2-0. Lexi battled evenly again with Smudge in game 3, but Lexi's timing remained prime with a pair of shots at the end for the win to earn the 3-0 series sweep. Lexi has found a spot for herself in the second round.
Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Twinkie II v. Klaus. Two highly talented players clash in Rotation with the silver cue. Atlantic's Klaus had a four-ball run to burst himself ahead of Harrison's Twinkie II. He was never threatened after that, as Klaus cruised to the 8-3 win for a 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Klaus had a three-ball run early on and then added a four-ball run-out at the end, smothering the Specters' Twinkie II with offense in an 8-2 win. Klaus' victory secured the series at 2-0 in his favor. Twinkie II finally kept up with Klaus in game 3, battling for every lead and eventually snatching an 8-6 win to avoid the sweep. Klaus took the series 2-1, and will face the Diamond Gems' Katelynn in the second round.
HP Field Events Center, Midland: Americus v. Ms. Puppy. The red cue comes back for this Accuracy series. Both players were sharp in game 1, with Midland's Americus just a little better by winning 0-1 over Modernistic's Ms. Puppy, who had just one long miss. Americus leads the series 1-0. The Predators' Americus refused to budge again in game 2, staying perfect while the Union's Ms. Puppy faltered in the middle of the game. Americus' 0-2 win in the game sealed the series for her at 2-0. Americus fell apart in game 3, but she still did well enough to win 3-4 after Ms. Puppy sportingly let her have the sweep at the end of the game. A 3-0 series win sends Americus to the second round.
Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: Twilight v. Easter. Captains go at it in 10-ball with the blue cue. Neither player took command of game 1, and when Central's Twilight missed on the 10 at the end, Todavía's Easter picked up the scraps for the 1-0 series lead and a win. The Stills' Easter had a slow start in game 2, as the Warriors' Twilight made a three-ball run, but Easter pushed back with a 7-10 combination after some sustained pressure to pick up the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Easter and Twilight exchanged three-ball runs early in game 3, but the game tightened up at the end until Easter banked the 10 to the top right for the win to earn the 3-0 sweep. Easter will play in the second round.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Boots v. Gradley. The final series today is in 10-ball with the red cue. Pearl's Boots did a lot of the offense in game 1, but Boston's Gradley prevailed with late shots to pick up the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Swifts' Gradley still struggled to knock balls in during game 2, as the Surfers' Boots had a pair of four-ball runs. The latter of those runs won Boots the game, tying the series at 1. Boots again did as much as she could on offense, starting with three balls on the break, but she left the 10 at the top right for Gradley to cut in for the win. Gradley took the series 2-1 and will visit Pronger Tridents captain Precious in the second round.

Tournament 2019 - Round 1 Day 8
Tournament play is the only league activity today, with a hopefully normal workload awaiting. First up...
HP Field Events Center, Midland: Rainmane v. Kirstin. A pair of veterans go at it in 8-ball with the red cue for today's first series. Everton's Kirstin concentrated her offense with a four-ball run early in game 1, and then a three-ball run-out to stave off the threat from Midland's Rainmane at the end. Kirstin leads the series 1-0. The Eagles' Kirstin remained strong with a five-ball run from the start of game 2. The Predators' Rainmane chipped in a couple of shots, but Kirstin eventually took the 8 at the top right for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Rainmane had a better start in game 3, but she couldn't make it a full-game effort, as Kirstin roared back at the end to swipe this win away for the 3-0 sweep. Kirstin advances easily to the second round.
GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Wario v. Cowzart. Two players on new teams meet for 9-ball with the silver cue. Pacific's Cowzart had a large majority of the possession in game 1, but his miss on the 9 from range to the top side allowed Southridge's Wario to poach a win for a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 was a much more balanced battle, which saw the Volcanoes' Cowzart prevail with a three-ball run-out that ended just shy of a scratch. Cowzart's win ties the series with the Defenders' Wario at 1 game apiece. Game 3 saw a cagey start turn into a burst for Cowzart, who took the win on a four-ball run-out to take the series 2-1. Cowzart's dominant attack got him to the second round.
Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Sleepy B. v. Blizzard. A Northeastern rivalry is renewed in this 10-ball series with the red cue. Archtown's Sleepy B. had a four-ball run when the offense opened up in game 1, and then made the last pair as Harrison's Blizzard was unprepared to make a counterattack. Sleepy B. is up 1-0 in the series. The Arrows' Sleepy B. again had a four-ball run in game 2 to lead the attack, but a late miss on the 8 allowed the Specters' Blizzard to knock in the last two shots for the win. Blizzard's victory tied the series at 1. Sleepy B. provided another big run in game 3, this one enough to win her the series as she potted five straight to beat Blizzard 2-1 overall. Sleepy B. will take on the North Modernistic Nighthawks' Cheddar in the second round.
BMW RockDome, Westside: Chimpy v. Peach. After the lunch break, more 10-ball is played with the blue cue. North Modernistic's Peach shredded Westside's Chimpy in game 1, using a five-ball run and a three-ball run-out to give the visitor a 1-0 series lead. The Nighthawks' Peach attacked well in game 2, mixing it up with the Rockers' Chimpy at first but ultimately taking the win with a three-ball run-out at the end, which secured the series in her favor at 2-0. Chimpy made quick work of game 3, as Peach had no clear look on her second turn, leading to a foul. Chimpy then made the 1 and a 2-10 combination to the top right for the win. Peach took the series 2-1 and will play on in the second round.
Cisco Arena, Tysini: Vincent v. Wario. The visitor plays his second series of the day in 8-ball with the silver cue. Tysini's Vincent started with a three-ball run on solids, but game 1 was even as Southridge's Wario missed the first look at the 8. Vincent then made his last ball and the 8, closing out the game victorious for a 1-0 series lead. The Defenders' Wario bounced back in game 2, struggling with many scratches early on but pulling ahead later as the Hummingbirds' Vincent skidded. Wario's final pair of shots earned him the win to tie the series at 1. Game 3 saw the same struggles on offense for both players, with Wario just pulling ahead on a three-ball run-out for the win and 2-1 series win. Wario will face off with Vladimir of the Stonebridge Wolves in the second round.
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Dominic v. Hoppy. Former teammates meet for a 13-ball series with the blue cue. Southern's Dominic made too many errors in game 1, allowing Archtown's Hoppy to get by her former teammate for a slow-moving win and 1-0 series lead. The Arrows' Hoppy had to make a comeback attempt in game 2, as the Monarchs' Dominic set the pace fairly early on. Hoppy tried to rally with a three-ball run, but she came up short, and Dominic finished the game with a pair of shots for the win to tie the series at 1. Dominic played defense first in game 3, blocking the side pockets before unleashing his five-ball run-out to defeat Hoppy. Dominic won the series 2-1 and will play in round two.

It worked, but Queens' Briana charged on a four-ball run-out on the next turn, taking a 1-0 series lead with her surprising win. The Crowns' Nightfur couldn't do anything on her own in game 2, her only potted ball being a gift to the Flames' Briana, who won in two turns after making a pair of three-ball runs. Briana sealed the series at 2-0. Nightfur set a stronger tone in game 3, but her offense fell apart with three balls left. Briana unraveled some difficult positioning to get the win, sweeping the series at 3-0 to earn her spot in the second round.

Terrace City's Melissa held the advantage in game 1, especially after Modernistic's Ms. Puppy put the 8 near the top side. Melissa delicately got around the troublesome positioning issue to win on a three-ball run-out for a 1-0 series lead. The Knights' Melissa had a decent start in game 2, but she was unprepared for the Union's Ms. Puppy posting a six-ball run to get onto the 8. Ms. Puppy needed a couple of tries before getting the win, which tied the series at 1. Game 3 was a mix of styles, as both players were reluctant to give up much. Melissa managed to wrangle away the win with a late push, winning the series 2-1 and advancing to the second round.

The series is tied at 1. Game 3 looked much the same, with Graham struggling to find his way in particular. Graham went with a contact play on the 6, which set up Shawn's deflected 6-14-15 combination to the top right for the win. Shawn won the series 2-1 and will play in round two.

Snowball closed it up for a 1-0 series lead in the end. The Blades' Snowball tried to impress in game 2, but her offense fell apart in the middle of the game. It took awhile before the Pilots' Sparkles picked up the slack, pushing her way to the win at the end to tie the series at 1. Sparkles had most of the early offense in game 3, including a five-ball run. She slipped back and Snowball pressed to make it close, but Sparkles' lead held as she took the win for a 2-1 series win. Sparkles will play on into the second round.

Oceanside's Snuggle made game 1 look easy, starting with a three-ball run and then adding a six-ball run-out to take a confident 1-0 series lead over Golden's Max. The Pilots' Max flipped the script in game 2 with a strong early attack to keep the Waves' Snuggle honest. Max then found his way on a five-ball run-out for the win, tying the series at 1. Game 3 went split pretty evenly, with Snuggle only pulling away with the final pair of shots to take the win and a 2-1 series win. Snuggle finds himself with a spot in the second round.
Sony Center, Queens: Briana v. Stephanie. Sisters on Castle Derby rival teams meet for an energy-filled 8-ball series with the blue cue. Queens' Briana had the lead from the start of game 1, and she finished with the 8 at the top right to defeat Southridge's Stephanie for the 1-0 series lead. Briana eased up a bit too much in game 2, as the Flames sophomore faltered near the end. The Defenders' Stephanie pounced at the chance, clubbing a six-ball run-out to get the win, tying the series at 1. Briana would not be denied in game 3, watching as Stephanie struck early and then rallying with an eight-ball run-out to get the win. Briana's 2-1 series win over her sister puts her into the second round.

Gal had a four-ball run end in a foul in game 3, which allowed Sleepy B. to attack with a three-ball run-out for the sweep-securing win. Sleepy B. goes on to meet Hershey of the Stonebridge Wolves in the second round.
Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Juno v. Wario. The visitor's busy day concludes with his third series in 15-ball with the blue cue in the Day 8 finale. Southridge's Wario played patiently against an aggressive Juno of Stonebridge in game. Wario's moment came with a six-ball run-out capped by a 12-15 combination to the top left for the 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Juno had a chance to take game 2 after the Defenders' Wario scratched, but she chose the honorable path. It would cost her, as Wario made the last two shots for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Juno wouldn't go down again, besting Wario in an offense-heavy game 3 to cut the series to 2-1. Wario will visit Modernistic Union captain Ms. Puppy in the second round.

Graham went with a contact play on the 6, which set up Shawn's deflected 6-14-15 combination to the top right for the win. Shawn won the series 2-1 and will play in round two.
Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Sparkles v. Snowball. The silver cue returns for this series of 8-ball. Swordpoint's Snowball fired off a strong game 1 with a four-ball run to take the lead and enough positioning skill to keep Golden's Sparkles at bay. Snowball closed it up for a 1-0 series lead in the end. The Blades' Snowball tried to impress in game 2, but her offense fell apart in the middle of the game. It took awhile before the Pilots' Sparkles picked up the slack, pushing her way to the win at the end to tie the series at 1. Sparkles had most of the early offense in game 3, including a five-ball run. She slipped back and Snowball pressed to make it close, but Sparkles' lead held as she took the win for a 2-1 series win. Sparkles will play on into the second round.
Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Max v. Snuggle. Also in Golden, the silver cue sticks around for a 9-ball series between former club-mates. Oceanside's Snuggle made game 1 look easy, starting with a three-ball run and then adding a six-ball run-out to take a confident 1-0 series lead over Golden's Max. The Pilots' Max flipped the script in game 2 with a strong early attack to keep the Waves' Snuggle honest. Max then found his way on a five-ball run-out for the win, tying the series at 1. Game 3 went split pretty evenly, with Snuggle only pulling away with the final pair of shots to take the win and a 2-1 series win. Snuggle finds himself with a spot in the second round.
Sony Center, Queens: Briana v. Stephanie. Sisters on Castle Derby rival teams meet for an energy-filled 8-ball series with the blue cue. Queens' Briana had the lead from the start of game 1, and she finished with the 8 at the top right to defeat Southridge's Stephanie for the 1-0 series lead. Briana eased up a bit too much in game 2, as the Flames sophomore faltered near the end. The Defenders' Stephanie pounced at the chance, clubbing a six-ball run-out to get the win, tying the series at 1. Briana would not be denied in game 3, watching as Stephanie struck early and then rallying with an eight-ball run-out to get the win. Briana's 2-1 series win over her sister puts her into the second round.
IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Gal v. Sleepy B. The silver cue draws in for 7-ball. North Modernistic's Gal looked strong at first, but she faded. Her miss on the 7 late in the game allowed Archtown's Sleepy B. to snag the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Nighthawks' Gal again had some good moments in game 2, but her late push ended with a failed kick on the 7. The Arrows' Sleepy B. again swooped up a tap-in at the top left for the win, clinching the series at 2-0. Gal had a four-ball run end in a foul in game 3, which allowed Sleepy B. to attack with a three-ball run-out for the sweep-securing win. Sleepy B. goes on to meet Hershey of the Stonebridge Wolves in the second round.
Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Juno v. Wario. The visitor's busy day concludes with his third series in 15-ball with the blue cue in the Day 8 finale. Southridge's Wario played patiently against an aggressive Juno of Stonebridge in game. Wario's moment came with a six-ball run-out capped by a 12-15 combination to the top left for the 1-0 series lead. The Wolves' Juno had a chance to take game 2 after the Defenders' Wario scratched, but she chose the honorable path. It would cost her, as Wario made the last two shots for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Juno wouldn't go down again, besting Wario in an offense-heavy game 3 to cut the series to 2-1. Wario will visit Modernistic Union captain Ms. Puppy in the second round.
