UPCL Cricket: Week 5 Part 1

We're back for another week of action, and if we're lucky, we'll double down this week.

Starbucks Cup, Archtown: Snowball wasted no time in getting this week off to a good start, cranking out 1062 for Swordpoint in the lead off role. Sally didn't have a good rhythm, working with just 12 points for Archtown in a poor showing. Dreamy suffered a deflection, giving her just 225 for the Blades. Her lookalike sister, Sleepy B., answered with 290 for the Arrows, doing little to chip away at the deficit. Shawn bumbled in his turn a bit, producing 229 for Swordpoint as they maintain a solid lead. Ruby couldn't get much back for Archtown, taking a meager 126. Stealth tacked on 257 for the Blades, and they finished with a total of 1773. Dusky lined 619 for the Arrows, bringing them to a respectable 1047 in the loss. Swordpoint continues their strong start to 6-2, while Archtown sits at 4-4 after their first home loss.

McDonald's Pitch at Pirates Park, Atlantic: Mr. Snowman contributed 324 for Viewpoint Sound in a solid start. Delila got jammed at the end of her turn, but she submitted 536 for Atlantic to start with a modest lead. Mams answered with 445 for the Meteors, giving them a solid response in a competitive game. Amber slammed 590 for the Pirates, restoring their lead and then a little more at the halfway point. Zach effectively countered with 585 for Viewpoint Sound, once again putting them in the lead. Americus faltered with 192 for Atlantic, putting them slightly behind late in the game. Kelly supplied 295 for the Meteors, giving them a final of 1649. Dominic pulled in 287 for the Pirates, but they narrowly lost with 1605. Viewpoint Sound's first road win puts them at 3-5, snapping a four-game losing streak, while Atlantic drops to 8-5 as their slump appears in full force.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: Watermelon faced infringed-upon angles, causing her sub-par 162-point output for Pearl. Patches slapped a cool 368 for Boston, giving them the early lead. Neopolitan fired back with a responsible 377 for the Surfers, taking time collect herself after an all-out backhand that allowed her to play composed after that point. Puff II melted with 129 for the Swifts, leaving them slightly behind at the halfway mark. Wings ripped 828 for Pearl, solidifying their lead against an inconsistent opponent. Gradley couldn't cover the gap, producing only 225 for Boston as the game escapes their grasp. Cowzart fumbled his way to 28 points for the Surfers, but they closed with a strong 1395. Sweetheart couldn't overcome the deficit with 336 for the Swifts, and the hosts lost with 1058. Pearl is now at 6-2 while Boston falls to 6-6.

Capital City SuperCenter: Goldy popped 510 for Everton in a good opener. Chris fired back with 559 for Capital City, giving them a narrow lead. Puff III carved out 1097 for the Eagles, easily staking out a much more solid lead for the visitors. Missy couldn't handle all the odd bounces, taking only 99 for the Sharpshooters as the game is suddenly very lopsided. Cleo stayed respectable with 282 for Everton, reaching back on a full extension to extend her turn after a cluster of bounces. Sprinkles gave Capital City a long shot chance, pulling them back into the game with 526. Blizzard crushed a massive 1361 for the Eagles, giving them a grand total of 3250, erasing the comeback threat very effectively. Dani's 276 gave the Sharpshooters a losing total of 1456. Everton continues to be a dark horse threat at 6-1, while Capital City had a setback to 2-4.

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Warriors look for a season sweep against the lowly Torpedoes. Smudge led off with 337 for Infinity in a solid effort. Twilight messed up for Central, scoring just 128. Shelley replied with 617 to extend the Torpedoes lead to a large margin. The Warriors assumed control on the swings of Dustin, as the fan favorite clobbered 1354 to establish a lead. Gabe nearly covered the deficit, grabbing 448 for Infinity to keep things interesting. Central takes the season series with a narrow win to go to 7-4, while Infinity is now at 1-7 as their nightmare continues.

Nike Field, Commerce: Spice continued her recent good form for Victoria, smacking 600 for a good start. Tigerette fired back with 743 for Commerce, with her full-extension chop defining her performance to extend her turn. The Spurs saw only 251 from B. Chapman, a weak effort that leaves them vulnerable. The game got tighter as Ice Cream only wrangled 177 for the Tradewinds. Yekaterina didn't do much to help Victoria either, taking 273. Lionel corralled 486 for Commerce, giving them a late lead. Kavan faltered with a measly 16 for the Spurs, as they lost with 1140. The Intel Pitch, Diamond: Kiwi pummeled 606 for Terrace City without even really blinking, giving them a great opener. Smokey had a little too much power on his swing, striking 375 for Diamond in response. Jennifer swatted 679 for the Knights, adding onto the lead with another strong effort. The pressure was too much for the Gems' Citrus, as she took only 51, with the hosts facing a steep battle. Oreo took just 128 for Terrace City, putting them in cruise control. Pedey couldn't take advantage of the opportunity, scoring only 122 for Diamond. Stripes tapped 245 to give the Knights a final score of 1658, in what will likely go down as another win. Cassandra got shut down with 36 points after a bad bounce ended her turn for the Gems, and they lost with a total of 584. Terrace City stays perfect at 6-0 with their Island of Lost Toys roster, while Diamond is down to 3-5.

Cassandra lifted 703 for the Gems, putting them a final of 1685. Niki took 460 for the Sharks, but they still lost with 1409. Diamond is now at 4-5, while Eastside drops to 2-4.

Chevrolet Field, Everton: The Eagles are looking for a season sweep in this game. Panda grabbed 225 for Southern in this game. One bad misplay from Goldy led her to taking only 166 for Everton, keeping things tight early on. Shannon answered with 296 for the Monarchs, adding a reasonable score to their lead. Puff III broke free of her usual pace in a good way, launching 1305 to give the Eagles a massive lead at the halfway point in the game. Kirstin shot back with a decent 368 for Southern, chipping away at the deficit. Cleo fired back with 298 for Everton to mitigate the damage. Everton remains perfect at home, with an overall record of 7-1, while Southern's session of being swept drops them to 4-9.

Toyota Pitch, Freedom: The Tridents break out their old uniforms for an Eastern Hills regional rivalry match. Strawberry had another weak effort for Pronger, scoring only 180. Jasmine had multiple excused false starts before blasting 566 to give Freedom the early lead. Nikolai kept it simple, with his 40 points icing a Cascades victory with 1285 total. Freedom continues to surprise this season, now at 7-4, while Pronger slides to 3-6, with four divisional losses.

Amazon Field, Golden: The final game of the segment is the Tradewinds' first division game against a middling opponent. Tigerette again had a rocky start for Commerce with just 30 points to her credit. Valencia scooped up 527 to give Golden a very strong lead early in the game. Ice Cream pulled in 388 for the Tradewinds, failing to cover the entire deficit. Dusty mostly covered that damage, taking 368 for the Pilots to maintain their lead.
