Today could end up being a bit of a short day for qualifying, with extraneous commitments pushing the league aside. Still, happy Fourth of July to the UPCL fans out there. We begin with...
Hoot of the Pronger Tridents playing 10-ball with the red cue. Hoot scored 18 with two errors to begin the day, a bit of redemption for his previous appearance. Next up is Dusty of the Golden Pilots, using the red cue to shoot 18 with one error in an embarrassing effort at 7-ball. The third player drawn today is Slinks of the Harrison Specters, shooting 7-ball with the silver cue. Slinks needed only 8 shots with no errors in a dominant season debut that rewards the Specters' faith in her ability. Continuing along, we have Shiny of the Web City Spiders using the silver cue in 9-ball. Shiny suffered some bad luck, taking two errors while shooting 17 as many shots rattled out on the first attempt. Rounding out the first group, Capital City Sharpshooter Sprinkles shoots 7-ball with the silver cue to the tune of 16 shots with two errors in another trying season debut. It appears 7-ball is becoming a trickier game later in the qualifying session, a word of caution for players yet to be called.
Group two kicks off with Nikolai, the Freedom Cascades rookie, using the blue cue for 7-ball. Nikolai debuted well, shooting 2 with a double-pot of the 1 to the top right and 7 to the bottom left ending his game quickly with no errors. The seventh player called today is Niki of the Eastside Sharks, using the silver cue to score 25 with two errors in an unremarkable second appearance for the rookie. The next player, Diamond Gems captain Smokey, took the red cue for 9-ball, posting a score of 17 with no errors, earning a bit of redemption for a previous appearance. Up next, Cleo of the Everton Eagles takes the red cue for 7-ball. Cleo ended up at 23 with four errors in an annoyingly terrible showing ruined by a difficult 5. Snowball ends the segment with the red cue shooting 9-ball, and the Swordpoint Blades captain scored 29 with four errors as the red cue comes dangerously close to a day-long suspension, furthering a two-year-long struggle for it. Snowball criticized the lack of accuracy that it provides compared to the other cues.
After a suspension of play, we return to extend the day into July 5th, with the eleventh player called being Ruby of the Archtown Arrows for 8-ball with the blue cue. Ruby had a score of 26 with one error as the struggles appear to have carried over. Nikolai gets another appearance next, with the silver cue giving him a score of 24 with a single error in a slightly better showing. Continuing along, we have Gizmo of the Central Warriors using the silver cue for 9-ball. Gizmo dominated to a score of 13 with no errors in a showing of utter confidence. Dani of the Capital City Sharpshooters keeps the 9-ball going with the blue cue. Dani left no doubt, shooting 9 with no errors after making three on the break. Rounding out the third group, Sleepy B. brings out the red cue for 12-ball, which could be a disaster. Sleepy B. avoided the potential mess, shooting 20 with two errors in a bold statement game.
The next batch leads off with Kavan of the Victoria Spurs using the red cue for 8-ball. Kavan cleared the rack in 18 shots, with one error, already appearing to be a benefit to the Spurs. Going seventeenth is Taylor Swift of the Eastside Sharks, using the silver cue for 9-ball. Taylor took just 13 shots with no errors in her third appearance of the season. Smudge of the Infinity Torpedoes went next, shooting 8-ball with the blue cue. Smudge fell apart late, ending up at 29 shots with three errors after the 8 proved troublesome. Next up is Chelsea of the Eastside Sharks, keeping the game as 8-ball but with the red cue this time. Chelsea scored 23 with two errors in a solid performance. Group four ends as it started, with Kavan making another appearance for 9-ball with the silver cue. Kavan took 10 shots with no errors, ending on a bank off the right rail to the bottom left to finish his turn.
Beginning group five is Lionel of the Commerce Tradewinds, using the blue cue for 7-ball. Lionel took 9 shots with no errors in a good season debut for a game that has caused struggles lately. Following that, we have Princess of the Tysini Hummingbirds using the silver cue for 12-ball. Princess played a thorough game, needing only 17 shots with no errors to clear the table. Shooting 23rd for the day is Kavan again, shooting 10-ball with the blue cue in his third appearance of the day. Kavan continued to excel, needing only 18 shots with one error to continue a strong performance today. Moving along, we have Leonette of the Pacific Volcanoes, again the first to a game with the first 15-ball attempt of the qualifying season, using the blue cue. Leonette scored 27 with three errors in a reasonably good showing, continuing to set difficult paces for the other players to match. The group concludes with Valencia of the Golden Pilots using the silver cue to score 21 with no errors in a clean performance.
The sixth batch begins with Sydney Sierota of the Harrison Specters, using the silver cue for 10-ball. Sydney looked good with her 17-shot effort, recording only two errors in the process. Princess gets the next game, appearing in Rotation with the silver cue for her second game of the day. Princess pounded out a score of 29, with four errors, in a very admirable showing. Going 28th for the day is Kavan also got another appearance, playing 12-ball in his fourth game today with the red cue in his hand. Kavan had 20 shots with no errors in another brilliant performance, quickly endearing himself to the Victoria fanbase. Following him is Paps of the Pronger Tridents, using the red cue to shoot 11 in 9-ball, a dominant effort despite the one error, but also a bit lucky with some of the bounces. Ending this segment, there's 8-ball with the blue cue by Paige of the Queens Flames. Paige hit 24 with no errors, a fairly average effort.
Group seven opens as Slinks of the Harrison Specters shoots 8-ball with the silver cue to the tune of 16 with no errors in a dazzling performance. Smudge was called next, shooting 9-ball with the silver cue. Smudge made one error but completed the rack in a quick 14 shots, a good appearance. Next up is Easter of the Todavía Stills, shooting 8-ball with the red cue. Easter didn't have great stuff, and while she held on for awhile, a scratch on the 8 put her at 29 with two errors, right about what she deserved. The 34th player drawn today is Valencia, using the red cue for 9-ball in her second appearance today. Valencia scored 17 with two errors in a reasonable showing. Ending the group, we have Noelle of the Central Warriors playing 9-ball with the red cue. Noelle shot 22 with an embarrassing four errors in her turn, a poor game all-around.
The eighth group sees Midnight, the newest Westside Rocker, playing 7-ball with the blue cue. Midnight started well but fell apart in the end, shooting 16 with two errors. The 37th players of the day is Cubby of the Maplewood Lumberjacks, playing 12-ball with the blue cue. Cubby made two errors but still finished his fifth appearance in 20 shots, a remarkable effort for the up-and-coming player. Up next, the new Freedom Cascade Roxy plays 8-ball with the silver cue. Roxy needed just 19 shots with no errors to complete her second appearance with her new team. Juno is drawn next, with the Modernistic Union rookie playing 7-ball with the blue cue in her UPCL debut. Juno shot 12 in an error-free first appearance, an average effort that keep the Union monitoring their new player carefully. Ending the segment, we have Twinkie I of the Lighton Prestige using the silver cue in 9-ball to score 14 with no errors, impressing quietly yet again.
Batch nine starts off with Kelly of the Viewpoint Sound Meteors playing 9-ball with the blue cue. Kelly took 17 shots with an off-putting three errors in her third appearance of the season, hovering around average. Continuing along, we have Alyssa of the Oceanside Waves playing 9-ball with the silver cue, in an attempt to best her sister. Alyssa failed miserably at this task, shooting 27 with four errors as the mini-competition got stuck in her head. Going 43rd today is Wild Thing of the Whitewater Shores, shooting 9-ball with the silver cue in an attempt to save its reputation after the previous game. Wild Thing did just that, scoring 5 with a 2-9 combination to the bottom right to end the game early, earning himself another good appearance. Next up is Ms. Kitty of the Pacific Volcanoes, shooting 8-ball with the silver cue. Ms. Kitty ended at 24 with one error in a fairly normal game. Ending the afternoon, we have Blizzard using the silver cue for 9-ball. Blizzard took no errors in a 16-shot performance.
The final group begins with Paps of the Pronger Tridents playing 10-ball with the blue cue. Paps started off well but faded quickly at the end, ending up at 22 with two errors in an okay effort. Going 47th on the day is Ms. Kitty for her second appearance of the day, playing 9-ball with the red cue. Ms. Kitty scored 14 with no errors in a strong showing. Sweetheart is the 48th player drawn, playing 9-ball with the silver cue. Sweetheart of the Boston Swifts made quick work of her game, double-caroming the cue off the 1 and 7 to tap the 9 into the top right for the win on 1 shot with no errors. Up next is another Swift, captain Patches, shooting 8-ball with the silver cue. Patches took only 20 shots with no errors in a beautifully shot second appearance. Finally, Stripes makes her Terrace City Knights debut with the blue cue for 7-ball. Stripes hit 16 with two errors in a rough start with her new team.
As it stands, 8-ball is starting to fade a bit as 9-ball becomes more of the center of attention around a quarter way through the qualifying portion of the season. There is still some 7-ball left, but it's becoming rare despite big names left to go. More of the same as we settle in at 50 games a day for the pace for the foreseeable future.

Summer Cricket League: Week 9 Part 3
Welcome to the post that will bring us three-quarters through the SCL season. It's been a tougher league to get involved with, but the SCL intends to finish out its season in full. We begin with...
The Melbourne Renegades hosting the Brussels Chocolatiers. Patrido Salazar started with 348 for Brussels. Charlie Thompson grabbed 400 for Melbourne. Florent Claes got stuck early, scoring a pathetic 6 points for the Chocolatiers. Theodore White posted 279 for the Renegades to maintain the lead. Dobromil Zeman had a heavy swing, grabbing only 160 for Brussels. Sancho Ramos took 439 for Melbourne, adding onto the lead. Rodas Cazares struggled to 93 for the Chocolatiers, letting them fall further behind. Rana Naqvi mustered a measly 12 for the Renegades in a weak showing. Eric Zaragoza pounded 394 to pull Brussels back into the game. Sikke Eichel crushed 679 for Melbourne, likely securing the game. Jaturun Choen only had 124 for the Chocolatiers, leaving them short at 1125 in the loss. Stanley Watts chipped 223 for the Renegades, putting them at 2032 in the win. Melbourne continues a good season to 13-5 while Brussels falls to 7-12.
Continuing along, the Prague Checkmates welcome the Manila Pacmen. Fatigue finally caught Haejun Ki, who had 64 for Manila to start. Pancho Barrios stepped up with 467 for Prague in a big opener. Porfirio Cazares faltered at 96 for the Pacmen, allowing the deficit to go unchecked. Lucila Zavala grabbed 264 for the Checkmates. Sander Verheyen scooped 326 for Manila, showing a sign of life for the visitors. Hyunjae Kwak had 208 for Prague, keeping them in front comfortably. Gerben Bovelt struggled to turn on a ball, ending up at 146 for the Pacmen. Corentin Aerts slugged 510 for the Checkmates, extending the lead to a safer distance. Dries Renard managed 227 for Manila, not even close to covering the deficit. Darryl Estrada plastered 407 for Prague, continuing to keep them in charge. Richard Miller had just 80 points for the Pacmen, as they lost with 939. Rayan Carranza lifted 128 to make it 1984 total in the win for the Checkmates. Prague stays strong at 10-8 while Manila falls to 8-10.
Over in South Korea, the Seoul Crushers bring in the Guatemala Conquistadors. Frisco Romero pummeled 608 for Guatemala. Natal Badillo got cut down at 240 for Seoul, starting from behind. Eustacio Zarraga stumbled to 69 for the Conquistadors. Gwandoya Makeba drilled 636 to give the Crushers a slight lead. Kenzo Hashimoto couldn't get comfortable, hitting a weak 189 for Guatemala. Leandro Gamboa did his part of Seoul, taking 224 to give a little more to the lead. Curtis Caldwell faltered at 64 for the Conquistadors, digging them into a deeper hole. Max Jennings slapped 290 for the Crushers, adding onto the lead. Azul Mora also hit 64 for a floundering Guatemala side. Frank Schmidt had just 124 for Seoul as they enter cruise control. Adrien Laurent blasted 547 to give the Conquistadors 1541, forcing a response. Zdenko Jansky came through, rolling 42 to give the Crushers a narrow win at 1556. Seoul goes to 8-8 while dragging Guatemala to 9-8.
Finally, week 9 comes to a close with the Toronto Mounties hosting the American Rebels. Axel Cools poked 135 to start for American. Cyril Hendrickx put up 283 for Toronto, taking a small lead early. Louvel Lefevre countered with 320 for the Rebels, keeping things close. Curro Garza took 227 for the Mounties, allowing the game to tighten up a bit. Sander Lambert let the game get away from American with only 64 points. Axel Maes supplied 263 for Toronto to keep the lead more firmly. Irsyad Sudjana mustered just 128 for the Rebels, as the game begins to get away from them. Tabor Laureano tacked on 220 for the Mounties. Sabino Chacon rallied with 352 for American, pulling them back in the game. Jax Puente responded by slugging 529 to keep Toronto firmly in front. Cisco Solorio did post 438 for the Rebels, but they lost with 1437 total. The Mounties won as 136 from Antoine Hendrickx gave them a final of 1658. Toronto advances to 15-4 while American is 9-8.

2016 Qualifiers - Day 4

B. Chapman of the Victoria Spurs, shooting 8-ball with the blue cue. Chapman shot 22 with no errors in a reasonable second appearance of the season. Next up is Kiwi of the Terrace City Knights, playing 9-ball with the silver cue. Kiwi scored 14 with no errors, showing more good form for her new team. The third player called is Goatee of the Westside Rockers, using the silver cue to score 24 with no errors in her 8-ball qualifier. Wings keeps the game as 8-ball and the silver cue stays as well, shooting 18 with no errors to impress the Pearl Surfers with a strong appearance. Rounding out the group, Ruby of the Archtown Arrows keeps the silver cue going with 7-ball. Ruby shot an uninspiring 13 with no errors.
Going sixth today is Swordpoint Blades captain Snowball with the blue cue for 8-ball. Snowball shot 24, avoiding an error in an average outing. Following her, Blizzard of the Everton Eagles keeps 8-ball as the game with the silver cue earning her a score of 22 with no errors in another standard game. Group two ends with Shannon of the Southern Monarchs shooting 8-ball with the silver cue. Shannon finished at 22 with no errors in her second appearance of the season.
Group three begins with Delila of the Atlantic Pirates playing 9-ball with the blue cue. Delila needed only 12 shots with one error to clean the rack off, a solid appearance. The Pearl Surfers' Neopolitan keeps the blue cue at the table for 8-ball. Neopolitan took 19 shots with no errors in a good performance. Going thirteenth today is Twinkie II of the Harrison Specters, shooting 9-ball with the blue cue. Twinkie II shot 10 with no errors, a dominant performance for an early table-topper in qualifiers. Next up is Graham of the Eastside Sharks, making his season debut with the red cue in 7-ball. Graham shot a crisp 9 with one error in an assertive effort. Nightfur of the Royal Crowns closes up this group, shooting 8-ball with the blue cue for a score of 25 with two errors in an unlucky showing.
Going sixteenth is J. Garcia of the Southridge Defenders with the blue cue for 9-ball. Garcia shot 17 with two errors in an average effort, doing little to wow her team yet again. The next called player, Tigerette of the Commerce Tradewinds, used the blue cue to shoot 11 with one error in a good season debut. The Pronger Tridents' Hoot continued his comeback campaign in 8-ball with the blue cue, shooting 18 with no errors in another impressive appearance. The nineteenth player of the day is Puff II of the Boston Swifts, shooting 7-ball with the silver cue. Puff II erased a good effort with two errors en route to a score of 15. Closing out the fourth group is Shawn of the Swordpoint Blades, playing 9-ball with the blue cue. Shawn needed just 14 shots with no errors to keep up his solid qualifying campaign.

The 22nd player of the day is Maplewood Lumberjack Cubby, keeping the blue cue at the table for 9-ball. Up next, Dreamy of the Swordpoint Blades starts her season with 7-ball and the silver cue, scoring 11 despite getting the unluckiest leaves, and she also avoided an error in an extremely smart game. Continuing along, we have another season debut for the Golden Pilots' A. Charlton, using the red cue for her 7-ball qualifier. Charlton shot 10 with one error in a very good season debut. Closing out this segment is the new Oceanside Wave, Pounce, continuing the 7-ball spree with the blue cue. Pounce needed just 2 shots with no errors to finish his first appearance, caroming off the 2 to take the 7 at the top left, which eventually became a double-pot as the 2 bounced off the cue again and also fell in the top left.
Group six begins with Lydia of the Lighton Prestige using the blue cue to shoot 24 in 8-ball with one error. The 27th player of the day is Strut of the Golden Pilots, playing 10-ball with the red cue. Strut dodged disaster with an 8-10 combination to the bottom right to clinch an 18 shot final, with two errors in a frustrating turn. Next up is Smokey of the Diamond Gems, using the blue cue for 8-ball. Smokey humiliated himself, shooting 35 with three errors in a guaranteed B-level qualifier. Another Gem, Citrus, gets the next game, playing 9-ball with the blue cue in an attempt to redeem her team. Citrus needed just 7 shots, ending the game with a carom off the 4 to take the 9 in the top side. Citrus had only one error in this appearance, but the quick finish forgives that. Wrapping up the group, Oreo of the Terrace City Knights plays 9-ball with the red cue. Oreo took 12 shots with no errors in another strong appearance.
Going 31st today is another Knight, Kiwi, with the red cue and 10-ball. Kiwi couldn't find control, shooting 23 with two errors in a trying game. Continuing along, Victoria Spurs captain Spice shoots 8-ball with the blue cue to a score of 23 with one error, shooting fairly well on an unfavorable early rack. Paps of the Pronger Tridents keeps the blue cue shooting 8-ball in his appearance, scoring 23 but with two errors as late scratches undid a wonderful start. The thirty-fourth player today is Pacific Volcanoes superstar Starlight, using the blue cue for 7-ball. Notoriously late to arrive, Starlight struggled to a score of 14 with two errors in her season debut. Rounding out this batch is Shawn, now playing 10-ball with the red cue. Shawn played terribly, shooting 31 with three errors in an embarrassing showing.

Princess needed just 17 shots, albeit with two errors, to clean up the rack as she continues to look legitimate. Continuing along, Cubby gets drawn again to play his 10-ball qualifier, using the blue cue to shoot 24 with an atrocious five errors in the wacky game. Ending the afternoon is Eastside Shark Taylor Swift shooting 8-ball with the blue cue. Taylor needed only 21 shots with a single error to finish off the rack in convincing fashion.
The ninth group leads off with Shannon shooting 9-ball with the red cue, scoring 9 after double-potting the 3 and 9 to the bottom side and bottom right after her lone error. The 42nd player of the day is Strawberry of the Pronger Tridents, keeping the red cue up for 8-ball. Strawberry needed only 17 shots with no errors to clear the rack in a strong, bounce-back performance in her second appearance. 2016 Qualifiers - Day 3
We're back for another big day of qualifiers. Expect things to be about 50/50 for 7-ball versus other games throughout the day, with significant chances for 8-ball and 9-ball and a slight chance of 10-ball and 12-ball. We begin with...
Delila of the Atlantic Pirates, shooting 8-ball with the red cue. Delila opened the day with a score of 19 and a single error, a good performance for a player that needs more of those. Next up is Oceanside Waves quasi-rookie Alyssa, using the blue cue for 7-ball with a score of 0 with the 7 finding the top side on the break for the win and an error-free performance. Cowzart is the third to go, and the new Pearl Surfer used the silver cue for 8-ball, scoring 23 with one early error in his second appearance of the season. Going fourth today is Jasmine of the Freedom Cascades, with the silver cue for 8-ball. Jasmine pieced together a 22-shot game with no errors, a solid effort for the third-year captain of the Cascades. Ending the first group is Blizzard of the Everton Eagles, shooting 7-ball with the silver cue. Blizzard ended up at 14 with no errors in a challenging rack.

Gabe struggled to a score of 21 with three errors, continuing a rough qualifier run for him. Next up is Princess for her second appearance today, 9-ball with the silver cue. Princess did wonderfully, shooting 12 with no errors in a dominant performance that lends affirmation to her continuing to dominate in the league. Jasmine of the Freedom Cascades keep the game as 9-ball, but gets the blue cue back to the table as she shot 17 with two errors in a nonchalant effort. The 39th player to go today is Dani of the Capital City Sharpshooters, with the red cue for 8-ball. Dani shot 24 with two errors as the red cue continues to lag behind the others pretty substantially. Ending the group, there's another Sharpshooter, Missy, playing 7-ball with the silver cue. Missy didn't reward her team's faith in her, shooting 19 with two errors in a terrible season debut that will see her in the B-level almost assuredly.
Group nine begins with Alyssa of the Oceanside Waves, playing 8-ball with the blue cue. Alyssa hit 25 but with three errors, watering down a strong effort with late struggles. Following that is Leandra of the Tysini Hummingbirds with the red cue for 8-ball. Leandra cleared the rack in 19 shots with no errors, earning a hearty round of applause. The 43rd player called today is Oreo, who keeps the red cue at the table for 8-ball. Oreo drilled out 17 shots with no errors in a wonderful appearance, continuing her strong qualifying abilities. Continuing along, we have Bear of the Whitewater Shores, bringing the silver cue for 10-ball. Bear knocked 25 with three errors in a frustrating rack of 10-ball, notoriously a tricky game to conquer. Wrapping up this segment is Jennifer of the Terrace City Knights, with the red cue for 7-ball. Jennifer scored 12 with no errors in her Knights debut, a good first impression with the team.

Goldy dazzled with an early finish, double-potting the 3 to the bottom left after a bad miss with the carom taking the 10 cleanly to the top right to make it a 10-shot effort with one error for the Eagles captain.

Shelley somehow avoided an error in her game, but still shot 14 after getting a series of unlucky leaves that she got contact but not much else on.
The final group begins with Noelle of the Central Warriors shooting 8-ball with the red cue. Noelle scored 20 in her game, with one error, flashing a display of brilliance. Hyunjae Kwak blasted 672 to add onto the Prague lead. Caracas got only 40 from Noppadon Gruemor as the game gets out of hand. Corentin Aerts tacked on 520 for the Checkmates as they take a stranglehold grip on the game. Trevor Watson stumbled to 49 for the hapless Hitmen. Darryl Estrada tallied 216 for Prague as they begin to calmly coast to the finish. Maynard Cabagnot grabbed 245 for Caracas in their best effort so far. Rayan Carranza only had 28 for the Checkmates, giving them 1965 total. The Hitmen lost with 590 after only 78 from Bojing Luo. Prague is now 8-8 while Caracas falls to 3-12.

A swing-and-miss routine left Corentin Aerts at 99 for the Checkmates, as they appear in no rush to secure the game. Thabo Chahine squandered the chance to catch up for the Toros, hitting a measly 42 as frustration takes over for both teams. 2016 Qualifiers - Day 2
Expect more of the same as yesterday, with 7-ball predominantly featured and a chance of some 8-ball. First up is...
Cubby of the Maplewood Lumberjacks to debut in 7-ball with the silver cue. Cubby knocked down the rack in 14 shots without an error, but he was far from sharp during the game. Going second today, Gabe of the Infinity Torpedoes steps in with the blue cue for 8-ball. Gabe took 21 shots, including two errors, a vast improvement from the troublesome 7-ball qualifier he had yesterday. Citrus is up next, and the Diamond Gems star used the silver cue to score 10 in 7-ball with no errors, appearing ready to defend her very good finish from last season. Following her is Chimpy, using the silver cue as well. The Modernistic Union's Chimpy scored 10 with no errors in 7-ball, a solid beginning that should see him get a decent seed this season. Taking the fifth turn today, Jack of the Pacific Volcanoes gets the red cue its first appearance of the day in 7-ball. Jack didn't get a good leave from the break, and ended up shooting 17 with an error in a poor showing to open his season.
Leading off the next batch is the Central Warriors' Gizmo with the blue cue in hand. Gizmo alternated between brilliance and caution, but ended with a score of 10 and a single error to debut his season. Next up is the Royal Crowns captain Frosty, with the silver cue for more 7-ball. Frosty hit 12, but that included two errors in a fairly well-shot game. Spirit of the Lighton Prestige got the next turn, using the blue cue to score 14 with one error in a trying rack that tested her immense patience. Going ninth today is Shawn, making his Swordpoint Blades debut with the red cue. Shawn shot 7 with no errors in 7-ball, taking a lofty position in the rankings at this point. Rounding out the second batch, the new Tysini Hummingbird Leandra grabs the blue cue for 7-ball. Leandra hit 15, a weak opening, with two errors that may take some of the shine off her arrival in Tysini.
The third group is started with Precious of the Pronger Tridents with the silver cue in 7-ball. Precious ended up at 11 shots with a single error in a solid performance. Up next, the Pacific Volcanoes' Leonette takes the red cue for 8-ball. Leonette played without an error in her 21-shot performance, another solid showing for the second-year Volcano player. We stay with 8-ball and the red cue for the Royal Crowns' Marsell making another qualifying appearance. Marsell also shot 21, and also avoided any errors. The red cue stays up as Marsell passes it to Crowns teammate Jake for his 7-ball qualifier. Jake hit a forgettable 20 with two errors in a rough debut. The fifteenth player of the day is Wild Thing of the Whitewater Shores, playing 8-ball with the blue cue. Wild Thing hit 24 with a single error, but struggled to execute on shots that he set up, something the Shores will be keeping an eye on this season.
The fourth batch of players begins with the sixteenth of the day, Chicky Phil of the Westside Rockers, shooting 8-ball with the red cue. Chicky Phil showed well, hitting 19 shots with one error in a strong performance. We return to 7-ball with the Southridge Defenders' J. Garcia, shooting with the red cue as she did when she was the only player to ever win three straight 7-ball games on the break. Garcia did not match that effort today, making two errors while scoring 13 in her game. The blue cue gets its turn again with the Victoria Spurs' B. Chapman called on to qualify. Chapman made two errors and countless other poor excuses for shots en route to a score of 16 that will probably put her in the B-level. Ms. Kitty brings the red cue back, as the Volcanoes star will shoot her 7-ball game. Ms. Kitty made no errors in her 11-shot effort, a good start to the new season for her. Wrapping up this set, the twentieth player of the day is Bryant of the Maplewood Lumberjacks, also using the red cue for 7-ball. Bryant shot what is almost guaranteed to be the worst 7-ball score this year, a 27 with just two errors as literally nothing he could do ended up working.
The next batch hopes to do better, beginning with Bryant again, using the silver cue for 8-ball this time. He appeared to be doing better with this game until the end, where he scratched on the 8 and ended up with 29 with one error, a critical error of a five-shot penalty assessed only when the 8 is illegally potted in 8-ball. Watermelon is 22nd to play today, using the much-maligned red cue for 7-ball. Watermelon, the Pearl Surfer, shot 9 with no errors in her turn, a solid opening to her sophomore season with the Surfers. Leonette gets to go next, the first player to dabble in 9-ball this season, with the blue cue producing a score of 16 with one error, a good pace to establish for the event. Kiwi brings us back to 7-ball, playing with the silver cue for the first-ever appearance of a Terrace City Knight. Kiwi didn't disappoint, playing an error-free game while shooting a reliable 11. Ending the group, there's Paps of the Pronger Tridents with the blue cue at 7-ball. Paps had a good break, and finished early on a 3-7 combination to the top right for a 6-shot game and no errors, an all-around admirable performance.

Hoot's been away from the game for awhile after last year's huge collapse, but he appeared fresh with a score of 7 and no errors, leaving Pronger fans to believe in a bright season ahead. Bear is next up, and the Whitewater Shores captain is using he blue cue for 8-ball. Bear didn't get a great spread from the break, but a lucky double-pot of the 9 and 12 to the top right and top side, respectively, made it a final of 21 with no errors for the quiet superstar. Roxy brings things back to 7-ball, as the new Freedom Cascade used to blue cue to shoot 13 with one error in her Cascades debut. Last season's league leader in winning percentage is 29th to play today, as the Queens Flames' Paige shoots her 7-ball qualifier with the red cue. Paige managed to shoot 12 around one error from the unfavorable break, which is the early theme with red-cue games so far. Ending the sixth group, the red cue performs with Jasmine of the Freedom Cascades in more 7-ball. Jasmine shot 8 with no errors in a dominant effort the Cascades have to be happy to see.

Shiny, the new Web City Spider, hit 7 with one error as she ended the game early with a carom off the 3 to tap the 7 in the top left.

Moving along, Leonette of the Volcanoes cracks open a new level, getting to play 10-ball with the silver cue. Leonette set the pace at a remarkable 14, with only one error in a very impressive game for the player with the heaviest workload so far. Finally, the 60th and last player of the day is Sydney Sierota of the Harrison Specters with 9-ball on the blue cue. Sydney shot 17, a reasonable total, but with four errors, making the feat a little more impressive or pitiful, depending on your view.

Following her is Chimpy, using the silver cue as well. The Modernistic Union's Chimpy scored 10 with no errors in 7-ball, a solid beginning that should see him get a decent seed this season. Taking the fifth turn today, Jack of the Pacific Volcanoes gets the red cue its first appearance of the day in 7-ball. Jack didn't get a good leave from the break, and ended up shooting 17 with an error in a poor showing to open his season.
Leading off the next batch is the Central Warriors' Gizmo with the blue cue in hand. Gizmo alternated between brilliance and caution, but ended with a score of 10 and a single error to debut his season. Next up is the Royal Crowns captain Frosty, with the silver cue for more 7-ball. Frosty hit 12, but that included two errors in a fairly well-shot game. Spirit of the Lighton Prestige got the next turn, using the blue cue to score 14 with one error in a trying rack that tested her immense patience. Going ninth today is Shawn, making his Swordpoint Blades debut with the red cue. Shawn shot 7 with no errors in 7-ball, taking a lofty position in the rankings at this point. Rounding out the second batch, the new Tysini Hummingbird Leandra grabs the blue cue for 7-ball. Leandra hit 15, a weak opening, with two errors that may take some of the shine off her arrival in Tysini.
The third group is started with Precious of the Pronger Tridents with the silver cue in 7-ball. Precious ended up at 11 shots with a single error in a solid performance. Up next, the Pacific Volcanoes' Leonette takes the red cue for 8-ball. Leonette played without an error in her 21-shot performance, another solid showing for the second-year Volcano player. We stay with 8-ball and the red cue for the Royal Crowns' Marsell making another qualifying appearance. Marsell also shot 21, and also avoided any errors. The red cue stays up as Marsell passes it to Crowns teammate Jake for his 7-ball qualifier. Jake hit a forgettable 20 with two errors in a rough debut. The fifteenth player of the day is Wild Thing of the Whitewater Shores, playing 8-ball with the blue cue. Wild Thing hit 24 with a single error, but struggled to execute on shots that he set up, something the Shores will be keeping an eye on this season.
The fourth batch of players begins with the sixteenth of the day, Chicky Phil of the Westside Rockers, shooting 8-ball with the red cue. Chicky Phil showed well, hitting 19 shots with one error in a strong performance. We return to 7-ball with the Southridge Defenders' J. Garcia, shooting with the red cue as she did when she was the only player to ever win three straight 7-ball games on the break. Garcia did not match that effort today, making two errors while scoring 13 in her game. The blue cue gets its turn again with the Victoria Spurs' B. Chapman called on to qualify. Chapman made two errors and countless other poor excuses for shots en route to a score of 16 that will probably put her in the B-level. Ms. Kitty brings the red cue back, as the Volcanoes star will shoot her 7-ball game. Ms. Kitty made no errors in her 11-shot effort, a good start to the new season for her. Wrapping up this set, the twentieth player of the day is Bryant of the Maplewood Lumberjacks, also using the red cue for 7-ball. Bryant shot what is almost guaranteed to be the worst 7-ball score this year, a 27 with just two errors as literally nothing he could do ended up working.
The next batch hopes to do better, beginning with Bryant again, using the silver cue for 8-ball this time. He appeared to be doing better with this game until the end, where he scratched on the 8 and ended up with 29 with one error, a critical error of a five-shot penalty assessed only when the 8 is illegally potted in 8-ball. Watermelon is 22nd to play today, using the much-maligned red cue for 7-ball. Watermelon, the Pearl Surfer, shot 9 with no errors in her turn, a solid opening to her sophomore season with the Surfers. Leonette gets to go next, the first player to dabble in 9-ball this season, with the blue cue producing a score of 16 with one error, a good pace to establish for the event. Kiwi brings us back to 7-ball, playing with the silver cue for the first-ever appearance of a Terrace City Knight. Kiwi didn't disappoint, playing an error-free game while shooting a reliable 11. Ending the group, there's Paps of the Pronger Tridents with the blue cue at 7-ball. Paps had a good break, and finished early on a 3-7 combination to the top right for a 6-shot game and no errors, an all-around admirable performance.
The next batch sees another Trident, Hoot, take the red cue for 7-ball. Hoot's been away from the game for awhile after last year's huge collapse, but he appeared fresh with a score of 7 and no errors, leaving Pronger fans to believe in a bright season ahead. Bear is next up, and the Whitewater Shores captain is using he blue cue for 8-ball. Bear didn't get a great spread from the break, but a lucky double-pot of the 9 and 12 to the top right and top side, respectively, made it a final of 21 with no errors for the quiet superstar. Roxy brings things back to 7-ball, as the new Freedom Cascade used to blue cue to shoot 13 with one error in her Cascades debut. Last season's league leader in winning percentage is 29th to play today, as the Queens Flames' Paige shoots her 7-ball qualifier with the red cue. Paige managed to shoot 12 around one error from the unfavorable break, which is the early theme with red-cue games so far. Ending the sixth group, the red cue performs with Jasmine of the Freedom Cascades in more 7-ball. Jasmine shot 8 with no errors in a dominant effort the Cascades have to be happy to see.
Snowball is the 31st player to go, and the Swordpoint Blades captain used the red cue to score 18 with three errors in a very weak performance. Next up, Capital City Sharpshooters captain Chris is called on to play 7-ball with the blue cue. Chris scored 11 with only one error in a good debut to his season. Dustin dug himself out of a hole with a 4-7 combination that caromed off two rails to the top left for a final score of 11 shots and two errors. The Whitewater Shores' Cheddar got the silver cue back to the table for 7-ball, and used it to shoot 12 with a single error in a fairly average qualifying game. Ending the afternoon session, we see the 35th player is Sally of the Archtown Arrows. With the blue cue, Sally shot 6, swarming the 7 until finally connecting on a 3-7 combination to the bottom left for the error-free performance.

Eustacio Zarraga tallied 401 for the Conquistadors. Louvel Lefevre had only 235 for the Rebels. Kenzo Hashimoto pulled in 271 for Guatemala, adding onto their lead. Sander Lambert dragged American back into the game with a strong 551. Curtis Caldwell slugged back with 663 for the Conquistadors, keeping them in control of the game. Irsyad Sudjana ripped 640 to keep the Rebels in striking distance. Azul Mora sliced 153 for Guatemala in an unusually low performance. Sabino Chacon smacked 332 for American to give them the lead. Adrien Laurent kept the Conquistadors alive with 160 for a final of 1898. Cisco Solorio fell just short with 66 for the Rebels, giving them a final of 1896 in a narrow loss. Guatemala jumps to 9-6, leapfrogging the now 9-7 American squad.
