We're back for another big day of qualifiers. Expect things to be about 50/50 for 7-ball versus other games throughout the day, with significant chances for 8-ball and 9-ball and a slight chance of 10-ball and 12-ball. We begin with...
Delila of the Atlantic Pirates, shooting 8-ball with the red cue. Delila opened the day with a score of 19 and a single error, a good performance for a player that needs more of those. Next up is Oceanside Waves quasi-rookie Alyssa, using the blue cue for 7-ball with a score of 0 with the 7 finding the top side on the break for the win and an error-free performance. Cowzart is the third to go, and the new Pearl Surfer used the silver cue for 8-ball, scoring 23 with one early error in his second appearance of the season. Going fourth today is Jasmine of the Freedom Cascades, with the silver cue for 8-ball. Jasmine pieced together a 22-shot game with no errors, a solid effort for the third-year captain of the Cascades. Ending the first group is Blizzard of the Everton Eagles, shooting 7-ball with the silver cue. Blizzard ended up at 14 with no errors in a challenging rack.
Leading off group two, there's the Westside Rockers' Goatee using the red cue at 7-ball. Goatee shot 9 in her season debut, avoiding an error in the process in a well-played run. The Everton Eagles' Goldy played next, shooting with the silver cue in 9-ball. Goldy did have two errors but also kept her score at 18, a solid effort. The eighth player to shoot is Leonette of the Pacific Volcanoes, playing 12-ball as she has already been called five times in the first 100 draws, with the red cue in her hand. Leonette again set a solid pace, shooting 23 with one error for the first 12-ball game of the season. Shiny of the Web City Spiders follows that, with the blue cue in 8-ball. Shiny lacked a crisp shot, leading to a score of 26 with two errors in the troublesome second appearance for her. Rounding out this set, Patches takes the silver cue for 7-ball. Patches avoided an error while shooting 10 in her season debut, using impressive technique to keep a clean slate.
The eleventh player of the day is Strut of the Golden Pilots, using the blue cue for 8-ball. Strut shot 21, with no errors, in a very strong outing. Up next, Commerce Tradewinds rookie Lorde takes the silver cue for 8-ball, shooting 21 with two errors in a very admirable effort. The next player drawn is Diamond Gems captain Smokey, with the blue cue for 7-ball. Smokey put up 13 for his season debut, with no errors. The fourteenth player called is Harrison Specter Twinkie II, called to play 7-ball with the blue cue. Twinkie II finished early, knocking the 3-7 combination to the bottom right for a final of 4 with no errors in the smartly-played season debut. Strut also gets to finish this batch, with the silver cue for his 9-ball qualifier. Strut hit 18 with one error in this game, an average result.
Group four begins with Chimpy of the Modernistic Union on 8-ball with the red cue. Chimpy finished with 25 shots and one error in his second appearance of the season. Next up is Sleepy B. of the Archtown Arrows with 8-ball and the blue cue. Sleepy B. just didn't have her best stuff in shooting 26 with no errors, a tough break for her. The eighteenth player called is Americus of the Atlantic Pirates for 8-ball with the red cue. Americus scored 17 with no errors, earning what will likely be a very good seed in this event. Continuing the afternoon, there's Princess of the Tysini Hummingbirds shooting with the red cue at 8-ball. Princess finished with 22 shots and no errors in a slightly above-average performance. Going twentieth, Oreo uses the silver cue for 7-ball in her Terrace City Knights debut. Oreo shot 10 with no errors for a strong opening, but qualifying has always been her strength.
Shooting 21st today is Diamond Gems star Citrus shooting 8-ball with the silver cue. Citrus ended up at 22 with one error after a hot start led to a cold finish. Next up is Easter of the TodavĂa Stills, shooting 7-ball with the blue cue. Easter saw the 7 fall on the break, but ended up scoring 9 after her error, a scratch on the break that enacted the rule that forced Easter to finish off the rack. Continuing along, we have Sleepy B. again, returning for 9-ball with the blue cue. Sleepy B. dominated in 9-ball, with just 14 shots and no errors producing her final score. Going 24th for the day, Mams of the Viewpoint Sound Meteors makes her season debut with the red cue for 7-ball. Mams swarmed the 7, knocking it in on her third try at it, a 5-7 combination to the top side for a score of 7 with no errors. Ending group five is Ms. Puppy, using the red cue for 7-ball to shoot 14 with two errors in a sloppy first appearance.
Group six begins with Viewpoint Sound Meteors rookie Zach making his league debut with the silver cue in 7-ball. Zach shot 9 with no errors for a solid start to his career. Next up, Diamond Gems rookie Pedey shoots 8-ball with the blue cue, scoring 23 with a single error as the end of the game turned a bit troublesome. Continuing along, the Southern Monarchs' Shannon shoots 7-ball with the blue cue. Shannon put up a score of 11 with no errors in the strong season debut. The 29th player of the day is another Monarch, Nicole, shooting 7-ball with the silver cue. Nicole had two errors in a 12-shot performance, but it seemed like it could be better than that. Ending this batch is Tysini Hummingbirds rookie Charli XCX, shooting 7-ball with the red cue. Charli ended up at a reasonable 14, but with a shocking three errors.
The last afternoon batch begins with Kayla of the Queens Flames with the red cue for 7-ball. Kayla scored 12 with no errors in her season debut. Up next, there's Sweetheart of the Boston Swifts, keeping the red cue at the table for 8-ball. Sweetheart potted rack in 20 shots with no errors, showing up well in her second appearance. The 33rd player to go today is Southern Monarchs rookie Kirstin, shooting 7-ball with the blue cue in her debut. Kirstin produced a score of 11 with no errors, debuting in the approximately average range for the event. Following that, Marsell of the Royal Crowns steps up for 9-ball with the red cue. Marsell finished with 14 shots but also two errors, a brutal footnote to a brilliant game. Ending the afternoon is Kiwi of the Terrace City Knights with 8-ball and the red cue. Kiwi struggled in this appearance, with a score of 28 and two errors.
Leading off the evening is the 36th player of the day, Gabe of the Infinity Torpedoes with the red cue for 9-ball. Gabe struggled to a score of 21 with three errors, continuing a rough qualifier run for him. Next up is Princess for her second appearance today, 9-ball with the silver cue. Princess did wonderfully, shooting 12 with no errors in a dominant performance that lends affirmation to her continuing to dominate in the league. Jasmine of the Freedom Cascades keep the game as 9-ball, but gets the blue cue back to the table as she shot 17 with two errors in a nonchalant effort. The 39th player to go today is Dani of the Capital City Sharpshooters, with the red cue for 8-ball. Dani shot 24 with two errors as the red cue continues to lag behind the others pretty substantially. Ending the group, there's another Sharpshooter, Missy, playing 7-ball with the silver cue. Missy didn't reward her team's faith in her, shooting 19 with two errors in a terrible season debut that will see her in the B-level almost assuredly.
Group nine begins with Alyssa of the Oceanside Waves, playing 8-ball with the blue cue. Alyssa hit 25 but with three errors, watering down a strong effort with late struggles. Following that is Leandra of the Tysini Hummingbirds with the red cue for 8-ball. Leandra cleared the rack in 19 shots with no errors, earning a hearty round of applause. The 43rd player called today is Oreo, who keeps the red cue at the table for 8-ball. Oreo drilled out 17 shots with no errors in a wonderful appearance, continuing her strong qualifying abilities. Continuing along, we have Bear of the Whitewater Shores, bringing the silver cue for 10-ball. Bear knocked 25 with three errors in a frustrating rack of 10-ball, notoriously a tricky game to conquer. Wrapping up this segment is Jennifer of the Terrace City Knights, with the red cue for 7-ball. Jennifer scored 12 with no errors in her Knights debut, a good first impression with the team.
The 46th player to shoot today is Cubby of the Maplewood Lumberjacks, shooting 8-ball with the blue cue to a score of 23 with no errors in a fairly standard effort. Next up is Cheddar of the Whitewater Shores with the silver cue for 8-ball. Cheddar ended up at 25 with one error, scarring a decent effort at the end with a scratch. Leonette is next, and the Volcanoes star continues her busy start, playing her sixth qualifier, Rotation with the silver cue in this game. Leonette did the game in 30 shots with five errors, a bit elevated on both fronts in one of the more challenging games on the circuit. Going 49th is Chelsea of the Eastside Sharks, using the silver cue for 7-ball. Chelsea needed just 10 shots with no errors to finish the game, getting off to a good start this season. Closing out the group is Goldy of the Everton Eagles, shooting 10-ball with the red cue. Goldy dazzled with an early finish, double-potting the 3 to the bottom left after a bad miss with the carom taking the 10 cleanly to the top right to make it a 10-shot effort with one error for the Eagles captain.
Leading off group eleven, Twinkie II of the Harrison Specters takes the red cue for 8-ball. Twinkie II hit 23 without an error in the average showing. Going 52nd is Snuggle of the Oceanside Waves, playing 8-ball with the blue cue. Snuggle played a little better, shooting 20 with no errors for an above-average appearance. Next up, Twinkie I of the Lighton Prestige takes the red cue for 8-ball, shooting 24 with a single error in another average showing. As an aside, the 8-ball sample size is large enough to appear pretty congested, unlike anything the league's seen before. The next player called is Sleepy B. of the Archtown Arrows, shooting 10-ball with the red cue. Sleepy B. shot a crisp 17 with no errors in a strong effort. The last of this batch is Infinity Torpedo Shelley, shooting 7-ball with the red cue. Shelley somehow avoided an error in her game, but still shot 14 after getting a series of unlucky leaves that she got contact but not much else on.
The final group begins with Noelle of the Central Warriors shooting 8-ball with the red cue. Noelle scored 20 in her game, with one error, flashing a display of brilliance. The 57th player of the day is Royal Crowns captain Frosty, shooting 8-ball with the blue cue. Frosty worked a 17 shot game with no errors, cementing herself near the top of the 8-ball board. Following Frosty is Kelly of the Viewpoint Sound Meteors. With the red cue in 8-ball, Kelly shot 19 with no errors in another good showing for her new team. The 59th player called to the table today is Puff III of the Everton Eagles, keeping the game at 8-ball and again with the red cue. Puff III took 21 shots to clear the rack, avoiding an error in the precise game. Finally, today's last player is Jake, playing 8-ball with the silver cue. Jake scored 24 with no errors in his turn, impressing the Royal Crowns yet again.
That's all for today. As you might be able to tell, the bulk of the league has shifted to 8-ball, but there are a few stragglers on 7-ball and some cavaliers bursting through to Rotation so far. Expect a mostly 8-ball and 9-ball centered day tomorrow, with some 7-ball and a little 10-ball too.
