We're back for another standard slate of qualifying games, beginning with...
Rainmane of the Web City Spiders shooting 8-ball with the silver cue. Rainmane scored 19 with no errors in a wonderful start to the day and a beautiful second appearance. Up next is Valencia of the Golden Pilots, keeping the silver cue at the table for Rotation. Valencia ended up at 29 with four errors in an average performance. Moving along, there's Nightfur of the Royal Crowns, using the blue cue in 12-ball to score 19 with one error, an admirable showing. The fourth player drawn today is another Crown, Jake, using the silver cue for 10-ball. Jake turned a bad break into a good game, scoring 6 with a double-pot that saw the 3 go to its called pocket of the bottom right while the carom drove the 10 to the top right, for an error-free masterpiece. Jake did well to avoid multiple difficulties before his stunner to close out the game. Ending the first group is Pearl Surfer Wings for 12-ball with the blue cue. Wings took 20 shots with no errors in a sparkling showing.
Leading off the second batch, Diamond Gems captain Smokey plays 10-ball with the blue cue. Smokey had his best appearance yet, shooting 14 despite three errors in a crafty showing. Continuing along, we have Blizzard of the Everton Eagles shooting Rotation with the red cue to the tune of 32 shots with four errors, as her troublesome qualifying continues, with the Eagles appearing wary. Next up is longtime Freedom Cascade, Stinky, shooting 8-ball with the red cue. Stinky continues to keep a nice pace, scoring 17 in his second appearance of the season with no errors. The ninth player drawn for today is Chicky Phil of the Westside Rockers, using the red cue for 12-ball. Chicky Phil ended up shooting 22 with no errors, fighting for position on the last ball for an extensive amount of time. Wrapping up the group, Southridge Defender Shaggy plays 7-ball with the silver cue. Shaggy took just 10 shots with no errors in a good season debut.
The third segment begins with Paige of the Queens Flames using the blue cue for 9-ball. Paige stunned in her third appearance of the season, committing no errors over 10 spectacular shots, about half of which were banks, combinations, or caroms in legal fashion. Following that is Nikolai of the Freedom Cascades, shooting 10-ball with the red cue. Nikolai really didn't get many clear shots after a bad break, but he ended the game at 9 shots and one error with a carom off the 3 to take the 10 to the top right. Going thirteenth today is Gizmo of the Central Warriors, with more 10-ball with the red cue. Gizmo needed only 16 shots with one error in a solid performance. The racks for 10-ball have been sticking a lot today, a challenge other players will likely face later. Up next, there's Infinity Torpedoes captain Smudge playing Rotation with the silver cue. While it doesn't mean much in Rotation, Smudge sank the 15 (the middle ball in the rack) on the break, which is always noteworthy. This all sparked a 24 shot score with just one error in a very impressive showing. Rounding out the group, we have Panda of the Southern Monarchs shooting Rotation with the red cue. Panda stunned, making three on the break, and despite trouble with the 15, he ended at 20 shots and just two errors in a virtuoso performance.
Group four starts with Sleepy B. of the Archtown Arrows making her final appearance, shooting Accuracy with the silver cue to finish her qualifying session first. Sleepy B. ended up shooting 21 with no errors, ending at 175 shots total for the eight sessions, slightly beyond the expected league average. Going next is Pacific Volcanoes superstar Starlight, shooting 9-ball with the blue cue. Starlight took 15 shots with one error in a solid effort. Continuing along, we have Taylor Swift of the Eastside Sharks using the blue cue to shoot 26 with no errors in a brilliant performance. The nineteenth player drawn is Mams of the Viewpoint Sound Meteors, using the blue cue for 9-ball. Mams ended up at 15 shots with one error in an average performance. The fourth group ends with Gabe of the Infinity Torpedoes using the red cue for 12-ball, shooting 26 with one error in an acceptable showing.
The fifth batch sees Neopolitan of the Pearl Surfers get called for 12-ball with the silver cue. Neopolitan shot 18 with no errors in a sparkling display of skill and shot selection. Going 22nd today, there's Whitewater Shore Wild Thing shooting 15-ball with the blue cue. Wild Thing only needed 8 shots with no errors, setting up a 3-15 combination buried to the bottom right for a league-leading score in the event. Continuing along, Jake appears again for the Crowns shooting 12-ball with the silver cue. Jake took 21 shots with no errors in a pretty good effort, although the late-game positioning sucked up a lot of time. Next up is Whitewater Shores captain Bear, shooting 15-ball with the blue cue to the tune of 18 shots with three errors, ending early on a 5-15 combination to the bottom right after hovering around the 15 for most of the game. The group ends with Bright of the Tysini Hummingbirds shooting 8-ball with the silver cue. Bright ended up with one error and 24 shots for an average showing.
Group six opens with Gabe appearing for a second game today, shooting Rotation with the silver cue for a score of 26 with four errors, a mixed bag of a result. Moving along, we have Atlantic Pirates captain Delila shooting 12-ball with the silver cue. Delila struggled her way to 29 shots and two errors in a very difficult rack marred by inaccuracy. Going 28th today is Stinky again, playing 9-ball with the blue cue this time for the Cascades. Stinky needed 20 shots with two errors to clear the table, showing signs of fatigue as well. The next player drawn is Citrus, playing 10-ball with the silver cue for the Diamond Gems. Citrus shot well, ending with a score of 18 and one error in a positive appearance. The group closes with Max of the Queens Flames keeping the silver cue at the table for 9-ball. Max stayed error-free in a strong performance, scoring 11 in dominant fashion.
The seventh segment leads off with Southridge Defenders captain Boots making her season debut in 7-ball with the blue cue. Boots wasted no time in the appearance, taking the 7 on the break to the odd location of the top right (generally goes to a side pocket), with no errors. Following that is Kavan of the Victoria Spurs, keeping the blue cue at the table for Rotation. Kavan couldn't find a groove for his shooting, ending up at 37 with only two errors and no explanation for how the game got so out of hand. Kudos to him for keeping a level head about it all. Up next, we have Harrison Specters rookie Sydney Sierota playing Rotation with the red cue. Sydney did alright in this appearance, scoring 31, but with four errors. The errors could really come back to hurt her in the regular season. The 34th player drawn today is Valencia, bringing the blue cue to the table to shoot 15-ball. Valencia finished at 29 with two errors in her second appearance of the day. The segment ends as Jasmine of the Freedom Cascades comes in to play Rotation with the blue cue. Jasmine didn't have the best luck, ending up with five errors on 30 shots, but if the league regresses properly, it will likely work.
The eighth batch begins with Precious of the Pronger Tridents shooting 8-ball with the blue cue. Precious scored 19 with one error in a strong second appearance of the season. Going 37th today is Chelsea of the Eastside Sharks, playing 9-ball with the red cue. Chelsea shot well, ending at 11 shots with one error, with a carom off the 4 to take the 9 to the bottom right ending her third appearance early. Continuing along, there's Cheddar of the Whitewater Shores shooting 10-ball with the silver cue. Cheddar shot 19 with only one error in a fairly average showing this time around. The next player drawn is Nicole of the Southern Monarchs, playing 12-ball with the red cue. Nicole ended up at 24 with two errors in a solid appearance. The group ends with Dominic of the Atlantic Pirates stepping up for 9-ball with the red cue. Dominic scored 14 with no errors in a bold performance.
The ninth batch sees Sprinkles of the Capital City Sharpshooters play 10-ball with the blue cue. Sprinkles shot 19 with three errors in a shaky but effective performance. Ending the afternoon session mid-group is Valencia, and the Pilots captain is also the second player to finish up this season with her Accuracy qualifier being played with the red cue. Valencia finished with 19 shots and one error, with her grand total at a just-better-than average 171. The short evening begins with Cubby of the Maplewood Lumberjacks playing Rotation with the silver cue. Cubby ended up at 37 shots with six errors after chasing the 14 around late in the game with no success. Next up is Marsell of the Royal Crowns, shooting 10-ball with the red cue. Marsell ended up with a pathetic 22 with four errors in an embarrassing turn. The group concludes with Graham of the Eastside Sharks playing 9-ball with the red cue. Graham shot a crisp 12 with one error in a dominant showing, with a hint of agitation that earlier players lacked.
The last group gets going with Cleo of the Everton Eagles using the blue cue to shoot 26 with two errors, the last one being a scratch while potting the 8 that derailed a decent game. Following that is Leonardo of the Todavía Stills playing 10-ball with the blue cue. Leonardo ended the game early with a 6-8-10 combination to the bottom right, helping to offset the two errors he had over the course of his 10-shot qualifier. Going 48th today is Everton Eagles captain Goldy, playing Rotation with the red cue to the tune of 34 shots with three errors in a poor showing. Next up, there's Bear, appearing for the last time in the qualifying season with his Accuracy game, using the red cue as the third player to finish. Bear needed only 18 shots with no errors in a very good performance, ending with a 164 score overall, earning above-average marks. Ms. Kitty is the last to play today, shooting 10-ball with the red cue. Ms. Kitty shot 19 with only one error in an average effort.

The Melbourne Renegades hosting the American Rebels. Axel Cools scored only 72 for American in a weak start. Charlie Thompson fought hard but ended up at 168 for Melbourne. Louvel Lefevre got cut down at 128 for the Rebels as the scoring remains pitifully low. Theodore White smacked 352 for the Renegades in a bigger showing. Sander Lambert tied the game with 320 for American. Sancho Ramos launched 832 for Melbourne, making the lead more secure. Irsyad Sudjana couldn't keep up for the Rebels, scoring 201. Rana Naqvi tacked on another 504 to extend the Renegades lead. Sabino Chacon scored only 72 with a mishit for American. Sikke Eichel proved relentless for Melbourne, smacking 414. Cisco Solorio managed only 96 for the Rebels, and they lost with a pitiful 889. Stanley Watts kept it simple for the Renegades, hitting 36 to give them 2306 in the win. Melbourne goes to 14-5, a half-game out of first, while American falls again to 11-10.
Next up, the Prague Checkmates welcome the Johannesburg Lions. Wiebe Becker pummeled 409 to lead off for Johannesburg. Pancho Barrios replied with 544 for Prague. Normando Alonso belted 438 for the Lions, pulling them ahead again. Lucila Zavala had only 239 for the Checkmates, putting them at a slight deficit. Ken Howard struggled to 161 for Johannesburg, failing to substantially add onto the lead. Hyunjae Kwak only got 184 points back for Prague. Lucio Adame faltered with 21 for the Lions, a rare misstep. Corentin Aerts drilled 456 for the Checkmates, pulling them to a lead. Oshri Aharonov got 232 back for Johannesburg, failing to cover the whole gap. Darryl Estrada had only 89 for Prague, leaving them vulnerable. Pieter Hendrickx suffered an unlucky bounce to score 96 for the Lions, as they lost with 1357. Dobromil Zeman labored to 256 for Brussels in a tough turn. Leandro Gamboa couldn't close the gap at all, scoring 208 for Seoul in a weak effort. Rodas Cazares lifted 519 for the Chocolatiers, padding their lead. Max Jennings ripped 572 for the Crushers in a shocking turn. Eric Zaragoza blasted 818 for Brussels, cementing their lead more. Jax Puente crushed 575 for Toronto, extending the lead to likely unmatchable heights. Zdenko Jansky hit a meager 80 points for the Crushers, taking the loss with 809 total. 2016 Qualifiers - Day 8
We're back for the usual slate of qualifying games today. We begin with...
Shannon of the Southern Monarchs shooting Rotation with the red cue. Shannon shot 24 with one error in a good first game of the day. Next up, we have Roxy of the Freedom Cascades, playing 12-ball with the blue cue. Roxy played excellently, needing only 18 shots with one error in this appearance. Going third is Delila of the Atlantic Pirates for 10-ball with the blue cue. Delila finished the rack in 20 shots, but with four errors as well in a difficult run. Up next, there's Chicky Phil of the Westside Rockers playing 10-ball with the red cue. Chicky Phil ended up with 16 shots and only one error in a dominant performance. Snuggle of the Oceanside Waves picks up the next game, playing 9-ball with the blue cue for a score of 6, ending on a carom off the 2 to take the 9 into the top left, with no errors. Snuggle spent most of his shots aiming for a carom and got it quickly enough for a very good score. Rounding out the batch, Smudge of the Infinity Torpedoes takes the silver cue for 10-ball. Continuing along, we have Stripes of the Terrace City Knights playing 9-ball with the silver cue to the tune of 2 shots and no errors, with a good break leading her to a 1-9 combination at the top right on her second shot from play. Two balls went down on the break, and two more nearly did as well in a very solid outing. Finishing up this group is Dominic of the Atlantic Pirates, shooting with the blue cue in 8-ball. Dominic shot 23 with one error in an average showing.

Dani played miserably, especially late, committing four errors while shooting 33 shots in a very poor game. Rounding out this group is Alyssa of the Oceanside Waves, playing 10-ball with the blue cue. Alyssa ended with 19 shots despite two errors for an average performance.
Group six opens with Charli XCX appearing again for the Hummingbirds, with the red cue in 10-ball this time. Charli shot 19 with one error, dazzling with a jump shot make on the 3 to the bottom right followed by a 4-6 combination to the bottom left early in the game before she faded late in an altogether decent game. The next player called is Bryant of the Maplewood Lumberjacks, scoring 23 in 12-ball with the red cue, including one error. Next up is Ms. Puppy of the Modernistic Union, using the red cue in 10-ball to score 16 with no errors in a sparkling appearance. The 29th player of the day is Jasmine, playing 12-ball with the silver cue in her second appearance of the day. Jasmine hit 29 with three errors in a trying rack. The group concludes with Maplewood Lumberjacks captain Fluffina shooting 8-ball with the blue cue. Fluffina let things get out of control, sinking the 8 illegally for a severe penalty and ending at 31 with three errors in a very bad showing.

Sprinkles saw the 9 potted illegally after a scratch, forcing her to clear the table, which also ended in a scratch, but she was precise all around those two big errors. Going next is Puff III of the Everton Eagles, also shooting 9-ball but with the red cue. Puff III hit 20 with no errors in her game, shooting straight fire early on before losing all accuracy in the middle of the game. The 33rd player drawn today is Valencia of the Golden Pilots, shooting 12-ball with the blue cue. Valencia shot 24 but with three errors after a rough attempt to get position on the last pocket she needed. Continuing along, there's Shawn of the Swordpoint Blades, shooting Rotation with the red cue. Shawn played chaotically, shooting 30 with six errors, which isn't too bad with all things considered. The batch concludes with Sydney Sierota of the Harrison Specters shooting 12-ball with the red cue. Sydney scored 17 with one error in a confident performance, shaking her rookie jitters pretty well in a tough game.

Acorn has been late to arrive this season, but he's worth the wait, shooting 0 by making the 7 on the break to the top side for an error-free debut. Following that spectacular game, there's Nicole of the Southern Monarchs, shooting 9-ball with the blue cue. Nicole nearly matched the theatrics of Acorn, shooting 1 shot from open play, a hard carom off the 1 to pot the 9 in the top side to end her turn with no errors. Next up, Debby Ryan of the Southridge Defenders has to follow two great games by playing 9-ball with the red cue, a tough ask. Debby did the best she could, shooting 14 with one error in a reasonable follow-up. The 39th player drawn today is Lorde, the Commerce Tradewinds rookie, playing 10-ball with the blue cue. Another day with likely 50 games, beginning with...

The second player called today is Strawberry of the Pronger Tridents for her 9-ball game with the red cue. Strawberry shot 16 with two errors in an acceptable effort. Going next is Viewpoint Sound Meteor Mams, playing 8-ball with the blue cue. Mams scored 21 with one error in a strong performance. Continuing along, we have Lionel of the Commerce Tradewinds using the silver cue for 8-ball. Lionel shot 18 with no errors in an impressive performance. Rounding out the group, there's Yekaterina Vasilyeva of the Victoria Spurs, playing 8-ball with the silver cue as well. Yekaterina had one error while shooting 24 in a fairly normal game.

Summer Cricket League: Week 10 Part 1
The SCL returns for a compact week 10 ahead of a much faster ending to the season. The SCL has also announced the playoffs format for the league. All quarterfinals series will be best of three, followed by best of five semifinals and a best of seven final. The staggered format contrasts with the UPCL format of all best of seven series, but this is done to wrap up the SCL in an appropriate amount of time. For the games, we begin with...
The American Rebels hosting the Manila Pacmen for the first of their two meetings this week. Haejun Ki had just 50 points for Manila in a rough opening. Axel Cools answered with 218 for American. Porfirio Cazares answered with 575 for the Pacmen, getting them back in the game. Louvel Lefevre replied with 53 for the Rebels, putting them in trouble. Sander Verheyen managed only 80 points for Manila, leaving them vulnerable in the rocky game. Sander Lambert replied with 488 for American, cashing in on the opportunity. Gerben Bovelt slapped 456 in response for the Pacmen, restoring a lead for them. Irsyad Sudjana slugged 595 to keep the Rebels in the lead. Dries Renard reclaimed 249 for Manila, keeping them competitive. Sabino Chacon kept the pace on the American attack with 312. Richard Miller bombed in with 829 for the Pacmen, putting them at 2239 total. Cisco Solorio wouldn't tolerate Miller's outburst, bashing 1282 for the Rebels to win with 2948. Curtis Caldwell ripped 247 for the Conquistadors to regain the lead in a modest fashion. Zuri Okafor lined 551 for the Sixes to take a more comfortable lead. 2016 Qualifiers - Day 6
Another fifty games are scheduled, pending any disasters in play. We begin the day with...
Midnight of the Westside Rockers playing 8-ball with the red cue. Midnight shot 29 with one error in her second appearance of the season, a rough showing. Next up is Jake of the Royal Crowns, using the silver cue for 9-ball. Jake ended up at 21 with a single error, losing what started as a good game with inaccuracy late. Going third today is Whitewater Shores captain Bear, keeping the silver cue at the table for 12-ball. Bear looked good in shooting 22 with one error in this appearance. Continuing along, we have Golden Pilots captain Valencia using the blue cue for 10-ball. Valencia shot well, scoring 17 with a shocking three errors that actually helped her cause more than they hurt her, as she scored two balls off the errors charged to her. Ending the first group is Hoot of the Pronger Tridents, playing 12-ball with the blue cue. Hoot scored 23 with no errors, electing to avoid a penalty instead by playing the honorable way and slogging to get position.

Moving along, we have Archtown Arrow Dusky making her season debut with the blue cue for 7-ball. Dusky took 14 shots with two errors in a shaky opening qualifier, but she avoided disaster with a bold finish. Stealth of the Swordpoint Blades gets the next game, 9-ball with the red cue. Stealth dominated, needing just 10 shots with no errors to finish the game and find a place high on the leaderboard for this event. Ending the third group, we have Nightfur of the Royal Crowns, shooting 9-ball with the red cue as well. Nightfur continues to struggle, opting to play honorably to a score of 22 with two errors after her first error provided her a chance to end the game early with the next shot that she passed up, potentially regrettably so.
