UPCL Cricket: Week 1 Part 3

After the final eleven games of the opening week, we'll have a standings update posted to the Standings - Cricket page on the website. We begin this segment with...

Microsoft Pitch at Del Sur: Delila struck with 537 for Atlantic early on, getting the visitors off on the right foot. Panda shot right back with 700 for Southern, although he looked pained at the end of his turn with a minor arm injury, likely from the fatigue of his team playing so much so early. Amber countered with 472 for the Pirates, keeping the pace of the game high. Shannon couldn't manage a late blitz of bowled balls, ending with 225 as the Monarchs slipped behind in the game. Americus tapped 259 for Atlantic to keep the lead steady. Kirstin faltered with 96 points for Southern, enlarging the deficit they face heading into the final players. The one-time Monarch Dominic slammed 419 for the Pirates, putting his current team at a 1687 final against one of his old teams. Nicole's 209 left the Monarchs short at 1230. Atlantic continues to roll at 3-0, while Southern is floundering already at 0-4.

GE Stadium, Southridge: Jasmine wasted no time in setting a tone for Freedom, hitting 569 to lead off. Boots only pulled in 104 for Southridge. Stinky blasted another 743 for the Cascades, cementing their lead. Debby took 211 for the Defenders as they continue to struggle in their home opener. Roxy lined 297 for Freedom, maintaining the lead efficiently. J. Garcia did her part to get Southridge back on track, ripping 576 to pull them closer. Nikolai swatted 463 for the Cascades, giving them a final score of 2072 in a dominant performance for the usually road-weary side. Shaggy's 240 gave the Defenders a final of 1131 in the loss. Freedom gets a marker for the good column in going to 1-2, while Southridge slides to 1-1 early in the season.

Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: The Swifts are on an early tour of the league, already playing their fifth game of the season, with fatigue a very logical concern. Patches' awesome performances came to an end with this 51-point effort for Boston, ending on a bad deflection. Snowball cranked out 539 to give Swordpoint a good lead early on. Puff II got 200 back for the Swifts as they scuffle a bit in this game. Dreamy slipped a bit with only 138 for the Blades, leaving things open around the midway point. Gradley couldn't dig back for Boston, taking a meager 112 for them. Shawn bolstered the Swordpoint lead by striking 490 in his first appearance with the team. Sweetheart managed 224 for the Swifts, but they took another tough loss with 587 overall. Stealth cancelled that out well with 227, giving the Blades 1394 total in their season-opening win.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: The first official competitive cricket match for the Knights is their 2015-2016 home opener. Valencia looks to spoil to celebrations, drilling 506 for Golden with only an odd bounce stopping her. Kiwi edged Terrace City ever so slightly ahead with 511 points. Dusty got a bit behind on her last swing, ending at 230 for the Pilots in an already tight game. Jennifer had only 139 for the Knights, occupying a new two-hole spot she's unfamiliar with. Strut dug up 161 for Golden, a mediocre effort for the franchise's longtime performance leader. Oreo carved up 352 to give Terrace City a small lead late in the game. A. Charlton posted 199 for the Pilots, giving them 1096 and forcing an answer from the hosts. Stripes crushed 523 to give the Knights a win with 1525. Terrace City struck gold in their first ever game, showing good chemistry in going to 1-0, while bumping perennial powerhouse Golden down to 1-2 in the critical early season division game.

Apple Park, Todavía: Two very successful franchises get a meeting out of the way early this year. Sally struck 433 for Archtown to open the game up. The longtime Todavía captain Easter belted 680 to give her team the initial lead. Sleepy B. faltered with 104 for the Arrows, putting them in a dangerous spot. Sierra pounded a textbook effort to 548 points for the Stills, extending the lead to a comfortable level. Ruby took all of the comfort out of that lead by crushing 703 for Archtown, keeping them competitive. Leonardo slugged right back with 760 for Todavía in his new #3 position in the lineup. Dusky ended up with just 80 points to give the Arrows a losing total of 1320. Sparkles' 112 gave the Stills an even 2100 in the win, an enthralling game no matter where your allegiance lies. Todavía gets off to a 1-0 record to start the season, while Archtown's road woes crept up on them again as they fall to 1-1 on the season.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: Boots struggled again in the lead-off role, hitting only 160 for Southridge. Princess gave Tysini a narrow lead with 230, as the newly minted captain and defending Ringer Award winner gets her season going. Debby answered with 312 for the Defenders, keeping things fairly even. Leandra answered by blasting 721 for the Hummingbirds, eagerly awaiting her chance to prove her former Specters team wrong for cutting her. J. Garcia couldn't cover the gap for Southridge, scoring a strong 400 for the visitors. Charli knocked 505 to extend the Tysini lead even further. Shaggy smacked 479 for the Defenders, but they ended up short at 1351. Bright tapped 204 for the Hummingbirds at the back of the lineup, with his veteran presence leading to 1660 total in the win. Tysini is 1-0 to start the season, looking legitimate as dark horses for this season, while Southridge drops to 1-2.

Sprint Pitch, Victoria: The Spurs open their state-of-the-art cricket ground with a divisional battle. Snuggle rocked 739 for Oceanside to get started. Spice had only 239 for Victoria, ending on a glancing hit off the bat that ended up behind the wicket out of bounds. Bells got shut down at 80 for the Waves, caroming a ball off an incoming ball at a bad angle. More sloppy bat play plagued the Spurs, as B. Chapman finished at 423 after carelessly knocking a ball into the stumps. Alyssa smacked 512 for Oceanside, keeping their lead strong. Yekaterina faltered with 87 for Victoria, putting them pretty far behind. Pounce's 353 gave the Waves a total of 1684, lining them up for a probable win. Kavan had just 96 for the Spurs, making the result official when they took the loss with 845 total. Oceanside moves to 2-0 on the season, while Victoria drops to 0-1.

Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: Smudge had her timing messed up late in her appearance, ending with 224 for Infinity. Mr. Snowman showed a bit of last year's form, striking a magnificent 691 to give Viewpoint Sound a bulky lead early on. Shelley took only 96 for the Torpedoes, leaving them in a lot of trouble. Mams pummeled 496 for the Meteors, adding onto their lead effectively. Gabe stumbled to 80 for the hapless side from Infinity, as the deficit is likely to large to overcome now. Zach tacked on 736 for the high-flying Viewpoint Sound, padding their lead to unattainable levels. Whiskers' 214 left the Torpedoes at 614 in an embarrassing loss. Kelly skipped her optional replay, opting to take 405 to give the Meteors a final of 2328. Viewpoint Sound is now at 1-1, vanquishing their division rivals Infinity, who fell to 0-3.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: Starlight slapped a quick 297 to get Pacific going. Shadow completely mishit a ball early on, ending up with 96 in a weak opening for Web City. Ms. Kitty tallied another 196 for the Volcanoes in a somewhat low-scoring game. Rainmane belted 839 for the Spiders, completely erasing the whole low-scoring concept. Jack grabbed 319 for Pacific, helping to keep them within striking distance. Sugar managed only 169 for Web City, leaving them vulnerable with the weak showing late in the game. Leonette couldn't handle the low-bowled balls, getting mowed down with 28 points at the Volcanoes lost with 840 overall. Shiny showed poorly in hitting 16 for the Spiders, but they took the win with 1120. Web City is 1-0 despite the poor ending, while Pacific drops to 1-2 in a spate of early-season struggles.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Twilight started off rough for Central, grabbing only 144. Misty hauled in 561 to build up a decent lead for Westside. Dustin managed just 124 for the Warriors, as their early-season lack of offense is very noticeable. Goatee failed to get any extra separation for the Rockers, hitting a weak 46. Noelle kept the offense low for Central, posting a measly 57 that did nothing to help them close the gap. Midnight knocked 360 for Westside, adding onto their lead. Gizmo's 273 at least made the effort more respectable, but the Warriors lost with a low total of 598. Chicky Phil erupted with 757 for the Rockers, icing their winning total at 1724. Westside is now 1-1, while the defending champs in Central are at 0-2.

Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: Opening week ends with this battle between great teams. Easter posted 330 to get Todavía going. Defending league MVP Bear took only 192 for Whitewater in a poor showing. Sierra cancelled that out for the Stills, producing 200 to keep them in a reasonable lead. Twinkie III crushed 875 for the Shores, pulling them well in front of the game. Leonardo got tricked badly, ending with 160 for Todavía after a slow bowl caught him swinging early. Cheddar produced 438 for Whitewater, extending their lead even more. Sparkles played very well for the Stills with 593, but they still lost with 1283 overall. Wild Thing capped the Shores win at 1719, with 214 individual points. Whitewater stands at 1-0, while Todavía is now 1-1.

Standings update is next over on the standings page. Expect the same basic three-part pattern over the course of the rest of the season.

UPCL Cricket: Week 1 Part 2

We continue along in our opening week with the middle eleven games in the order, beginning with...

Mercedes-Benz Field, Harrison: The Harrison Specters hosting the Maplewood Lumberjacks. Fluffina got Maplewood started with a reasonable 326 in a solid season debut. Slinks barely saved one ball before watching another one fly over her bat, ending her turn at 39 points for Harrison. Bryant tacked on 209 for the Lumberjacks to beef up the lead a bit. Twinkie II erased the entire deficit and then some, slamming 594 for the Specters to take the lead. Diddley grabbed 500 for Maplewood to regain the lead in a game that gets wilder as it goes along. Sydney couldn't keep up, chipping 80 for Harrison as the rookie shows some signs of struggling in the sport. Cubby poked 138 for the Lumberjacks, producing a final of 1173. Brownie's 24 put the Specters well short of the mark at 737 total points in another loss. Maplewood starts off 1-0, while Harrison is down to 1-2 with no scoring depth to speak of.

Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: Two teams with dramatic image changes battle in this stanza. Delila provided a solid 319 for Atlantic as her bounce-back season continues. Smudge tailed off to 181 for Infinity near the end of her turn. Amber slapped 727 for the Pirates to put them in firm control as the game approaches halfway. Shelley answered with 576 for the Torpedoes, keeping them in range. Americus left Atlantic vulnerable with an output of only 58 points. Gabe closed the gap a bit with 193 for Infinity, keeping the hosts in range. Dominic put up 159 to give the Pirates a final of 1263. Whiskers managed 280 for the Torpedoes, giving them 1230 total in a narrow loss. Atlantic stands at 2-0, while Infinity is 0-1.

Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: Smokey knocked 264 to get Diamond started. Lighton took a slight lead when Acorn tallied 304 in the lead-off role for his team. Citrus hauled in 314 for the Gems, declining the replay option at the end of her turn from the technical error. Spirit answered with 496 for the Prestige, keeping them in the lead. Pedey scored 283 for Diamond, keeping them in the game. Twinkie I erased all of that and more, boosting the Lighton lead with a 509-point pummeling. Cassandra ripped 503 for the Gems, keeping them theoretically alive at 1364. Lydia batted a solid 361 to give the Prestige a winning total of 1670. Lighton takes a 1-0 record from their first game of the season, sending Diamond to 0-2.

UPS Ground in Maplewood: Starlight swatted 495 for Pacific to begin. Fluffina chipped back with 304 for Maplewood in a solid showing. Ms. Kitty kept the high-flying Volcanoes offense on pace, drilling a stunning 840 to pad the lead. Bryant's poor angle decision gave him just 57 for the Lumberjacks, as they fall far behind at the halfway point. Jack failed to give Pacific any extra distance, scoring 57 as well when he couldn't handle three balls near his bat. Diddley pulled in 339 for Maplewood, getting them a little bit closer. Leonette tacked on 177 to give the Volcanoes a final score of 1569. Cubby did alright with 310, but the Lumberjacks needed more as they fell with 1010 total. Pacific is off to a 1-0 start to their season, while Maplewood is now 1-1.

Google Pitch at Union Ground, Modernistic: Patches continues to find ways to impress, striking 552 for Boston to get the game going. Juno got struck down with a deflected hit, producing only 60 for Modernistic in her UPCL debut. Puff II added 384 for the Swifts as they keep their all-offense style going. Ms. Puppy saw a ball just graze the boundary zone, ending her turn at 105 for the Union. Gradley smacked 463 for Boston, keeping them well ahead in the game. Chimpy made Modernistic look smart for keeping him, chipping back with 487 to at least add some intrigue. Sweetheart took only 90 for the Swifts, giving them 1489 total after a weak finish. Puff I batted 304 for the Union, but they still took the loss with 956. Boston is now 3-0, while Modernistic drops to 0-1 in their early-season divisional battle.

AT&T Oceanside Stadium, Oceanside: Panda cranked out 412 for Southern to get this West Division battle started. Snuggle countered big with 1031 for Oceanside, building a huge lead. Shannon took 198 for the Monarchs, covering only part of the deficit. Bells belted another 806 for the Waves, who appear to have a different attitude than last season. Kirstin chipped 295 for Southern, just trying to hold on at a respectable level at this point. Alyssa took only 128 for Oceanside, but they remain comfortably ahead. Nicole poked 271 for the Monarchs, but they took a brutal loss at 1176 total points. Pounce slapped 202 for the Waves, giving them a winning total of 2167. Oceanside looked very confident in going to 1-0, while Southern looks absolutely deflated to start the season busy at 0-3.

Verizon Field, Pacific: Tigerette took 479 for Commerce, a strong start for the experienced captain. The equally persistent Starlight replied by blasting 730 for Pacific to give them the initial lead. Ice Cream fired back with 546 for the Tradewinds, cementing the game as wide open. Ms. Kitty rocked 631 for the Volcanoes, keeping them in the lead at the halfway point. Lionel swatted 397 for Commerce, covering the deficit but little more in the closest thing to faltering this game has seen. Jack kept Pacific in front with 319, but their lead has shrunk from turn to turn. Lorde scored 337 for the Tradewinds, forcing a response as they closed the game at 1759. Leonette chopped 33 for the Volcanoes, costing them the game as they finished short with 1713 total points. Commerce got away with a win, going to 3-0 in the surprise victory. Pacific falls to 1-1 in a heartbreaking loss in their home opener.

Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Westside gets their first game with a normal roster in over a year, led by 63 points from their captain, Misty. Watermelon answered with a big 526 to set the tone for Pearl. Goatee got stymied in her turn for the Rockers, finishing with a score of 209. Neopolitan crushed 590 for the Surfers, adding onto their massive lead. Midnight couldn't handle a ball that popped up into the air, ending at 227 for Westside in what's become a trying game for the visitors. Wings crushed another 624 for Pearl, likely securing the game unofficially. Chicky Phil grabbed 200 for the Rockers, giving them a losing final of 699 in a very rough game. Cowzarts kept it simple in the end, adding 272 for the Surfers for a final of 2012 in the big win. Pearl is now 1-1, while Westside gets off to an 0-1 start.

Tridents Park sponsored by Ford, Pronger: The Tridents debut their new color-scheme at home, while also announcing the throwback look they will wear for select regional rivalry games. Patches had her worst road effort yet, scoring 304 for Boston (which is not exactly bad by any standards). Strawberry ended up with 239 as the new lead-off player for the shuffled Pronger lineup, getting mowed down by a tricky sliding ball. A likely fatigued Swifts team saw Puff II only get 54 this time, leaving them vulnerable. Hoot added 240 for the highly egalitarian Tridents, giving them a slight lead. Gradley kept Boston in the mix with 339 in his turn, playing well despite the early workload. Precious had only 204 for Pronger, making the game close going into the last player on each team. Sweetheart hit 296 to give the Swifts 993 total, definitely within reach. Paps knocked 351, sending the Tridents to victory with 1034. Pronger made their new look victorious in the debut, going to 1-0, while Boston slips from the perfect ranks down to 3-1.

Ebay Center, Queens: In a rematch of last year's craziest game, Freedom's Jasmine drilled 364 to begin. The game featured the first road win for Freedom, well into the season, which caused a riot that damaged the Ebay Center, forcing the Flames to play a home game at their rival's building, the Kraft Crowns Park in Royal. Crystal had only 256 for Queens this time around, which likely won't lead to violence since the season is young. Stinky managed only 184 for the Cascades, leaving them in trouble potentially. Kayla wreaked mayhem for the Flames, ripping 511 to put them in the lead, cashing in on the go-ahead opportunity. Roxy couldn't keep the ball level on her backhand, watching it crash into her wicket for a score of just 10 points for Freedom. Max poked 218 for Queens, protecting their lead sufficiently. Nikolai slugged 733 for the Cascades, giving his team a chance as they end at 1291. Paige put her head down and replied with 595 to give the Flames a win with 1580. Queens is now 1-1, while Freedom took an unlucky loss to fall to 0-2.

Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: The second part of the opening week concludes with this match. Smudge of Infinity took 480 to open the scoring in a strong showing. Frosty had a bad miss for Royal, giving them only 171 when she swung way too early. Shelley got caught in the middle of a bat trick for the Torpedoes, ending up with 234 to add to the lead. Jake made the deficit look silly, bombing the Crowns to a lead with a 1294-point output. Gabe, in utter shock, took a meager 20 points for Infinity to exacerbate their problems. Marsell had 247 to extend the Royal lead in a modest fashion. Whiskers put up 144 for the Torpedoes, as they lost with 878, getting disheartened very easily. Nightfur's 225 gave the Crowns 1937 overall in the big season-opening win. Royal is 1-0 after their strong performance, while Infinity falls to a very unlucky 0-2 that could put a damper on their prove-it season.

Part 3 to come by Sunday night.

UPCL Cricket: Week 1 Part 1

This post covers the first eleven games of the third season of UPCL Cricket action. Expect similarly sized posts throughout the season as we progress toward the playoffs and the hunt for the Hutton Cup. We begin, as we will every week, in...

Starbucks Cup, Archtown: Mr. Snowman failed to get into an acceptable rhythm, starting the season on a quiet note with 28 points for Viewpoint Sound. Sally answered with 211 for Archtown, getting them going with a slight lead. Mams chipped only 36 for the Meteors, also failing to show any control over the bat. Sleepy B. made it look easy for the Arrows, blasting 972 to cement their lead at halfway. Zach poked 84 for Viewpoint Sound, but they still look like a deflated team so far. Ruby couldn't get the proper angle on her turn, scoring just 64 for Archtown. Kelly took a little redemption for the Meteors, posting 227 as they lost with 375 total, an embarrassing season opener. Dusky iced the easy Arrows victory with 343, giving them a final of 1590 in a big win. Archtown's likely bounce-back season starts at 1-0 while a regression-ready Viewpoint Sound falls to 0-1.

McDonald's Pitch at Pirates Park, Atlantic: Valencia got things going with 219 for Golden, a solid season debut. Delila slugged 480 for Atlantic, showing early signs of improvement after rejoining the team in the draft. Dusty answered with 239 for the Pilots, keeping them in the hunt. Amber faltered with 66 for the Pirates, leaving them vulnerable. Strut managed only 153 for Golden, failing to fully cash in on their opportunity. Americus endeared herself further to her new team, slicing 393 to restore a healthy Atlantic lead. The Pilots ended up with a loss when A. Charlton hit only 72, giving them a final of 683. Dominic tacked on 401 to give the Pirates a final of 1340 in a surprisingly strong win. Atlantic begins at 1-0 as they may start to be taken as a legitimate dark horse team, while Golden gets a weak start to go to 0-1.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: These two teams provide us with our first divisional match, as well as a Southeastern Rivalry game. Crystal hit 296 for Queens in a decent opening attack. Patches blew that out of the water, starting Boston off with 1023 in a big turn. Kayla couldn't react for the Flames, taking just 49 points as they fall into serious trouble. Puff II likewise went small for the Swifts, adding 113 to the lead. Max knocked 207 for Queens, attempting to chip away at the deficit. Gradley smacked 432 for Boston, padding the lead to a comfortable margin. Paige took 192 for the Flames, well below what she needed as they fell with 744. Sweetheart finished off the Swifts' victory with 304 for a grand total of 1872. Boston struck big time against a division rival to start the season at 1-0, while Queens took a large setback for an 0-1 record.

Capital City SuperCenter: Slinks ripped 395 for Harrison, getting her personal comeback season going in fine form after nearly getting cut in the offseason. Chris took 328 for Capital City, keeping the game close in its early stages. Twinkie II kept the pace high with 355 for the Specters, as a late blooming breakout campaign last season appears to spill over into this season. Missy tripped up a bit with 208 for the Sharpshooters. Highly hyped Harrison rookie Sydney drilled 385 for the team, adding onto their tenuous lead. Sprinkles let Capital City slip farther behind with a 112-point output. Brownie closed out the game with 482 to put the Specters at a total of 1617. Dani managed 215 for the Sharpshooters, but they ended up with a loss at 863. Harrison is the first road team with a win, going to 1-0 while putting the notoriously slow-starting Capital City team at 0-1.

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: Boots did wonderfully to save her appearance, spiking a ball off the ground in front of her wicket and into the back 6s, but she eventually flamed out at 203 for Southridge. Central's Twilight posted a strong 506, looking much more steady in her third cricket season. Reigning Rookie of the Year Debby smashed 697 for the Defenders, keeping the game wild. Dustin got stuffed with 28 points for the Warriors, an effective shutdown of a dangerous player. J. Garcia chipped a minor output of 112 points for Southridge, maintaining the lead. Noelle pulled Central back into the game by swatting 428. Shaggy shot straight back for the Defenders, ripping 492 to put them at 1504 overall. Gizmo pulled in 319 for the Warriors, but the defending Hutton Cup champions fell with 1281 total. Southridge took a gutsy win for a 1-0 record, leaving Central at 0-1.

Nike Field, Commerce: Watermelon led off with 310 for Pearl, a solid start for a player who finally gets to settle in with a team. Commerce's Tigerette batted 230 as the game stays relatively close. Neopolitan had only 111 for the Surfers. Her twin sister Ice Cream bashed 590 for the Tradewinds, pulling her team into a lead in the always-interesting sibling battle. Wings kept Pearl in a downward spiral as he hit only 120 for the struggling visitors. Lionel crushed another 519 for Commerce, putting them in full control. Cowzart provided a glimmer of hope for the Surfers by scoring 359, but they took the loss with 900 points. Lorde belted 894 for the Tradewinds, finishing their win at 2233. Commerce used their big victory to go to 1-0, while Pearl is down at 0-1 early in the season.

The Intel Pitch, Diamond: Patches wasted no time in setting the tone for Boston, crushing 840 in the lead-off role. Smokey took 240 back for Diamond, getting stalled by a bad bounce. Puff II ripped another 647 for the Swifts, adding onto their lead significantly. Citrus hit 271, misreading a rolling ball that ended her output for the Gems. Gradley tacked on 475 for Boston, as they continue to feed off the efforts of their captain. Diamond's rookie Pedey had a poor debut, hitting just 28 for the hosts as the game likely slipped from their reach. Sweetheart finished the Swifts' performance with 359, for a total of 2321 in a high-octane likely victory. Cassandra had a reasonable 264 for the Gems, but they officially took the loss with a final score of 803. Boston improves to 2-0 on the season, while Diamond is off to an 0-1 start.

HP Field, Eastside: Panda got jammed on his third swing, taking just 21 points in an ugly start for Southern. Graham tried to deflect a shot to the back scoring zones, but took too much pace off the ball, settling for a score of 195 for Eastside. Shannon swung 298 for the Monarchs, pulling them back into the game. Chelsea got most of it back for the Sharks, hitting 280 in a quick showing. Kirstin replied with 336 for Southern, a strong debut game for the rookie that has her team in the hunt for this game. Taylor took advantage of replay rules for the league to produce 457 for Eastside, giving them a stronger lead. Nicole got victimized by a high bounce, ending her turn at 136 while the Monarchs suffered a loss with a total of 791 as they look reluctant to shake the troubles of last season. Sharks rookie Niki suffered a similar ending, but her 200 points iced a victory for the hosts with a final of 1132. Eastside gets off to a 1-0 record, while Southern stumbles to 0-1.

Chevrolet Field, Everton: Slinks couldn't recreate her first effort of the season, starting this game with 120 for Harrison after a failed backhand attempt. Goldy put a ball a little too high for Everton, failing to capitalize as she hit just 71. Twinkie II pounded 568 for the Specters, giving them a sizable lead. Puff III went undeterred, crushing 570 for the Eagles to keep things even from before. Harrison's Sydney faltered in hitting only 69, putting their slight lead in jeopardy. Cleo lined 271 for Everton, giving them a modest lead heading into the lineup-anchoring players. Brownie grabbed 319 for the Specters, forcing a response as the visitors end the game at 1076. Blizzard cobbled 176 for the Eagles, giving them a final of 1088 for the closest win of the young season at a 12-point margin. Everton's late game heroics give them a 1-0 start to the season, while Harrison slides to 1-1.

Toyota Pitch, Freedom: Tigerette saved her game early with impressive bat work, and then rallied with devastating swings to give Commerce 400 to open with. Jasmine took a much lighter approach for Freedom, and it proved costly when she got stopped at 101. Ice Cream took a bad read on her final swing, scoring just 60 points for the Tradewinds. Stinky took advantage of the opportunity to shrink the deficit, knocking 280 for the Cascades. Lionel slugged 535 for Commerce, repairing much of the damage done to their lead. Roxy fired back with 443 for Freedom, keeping the game within a reasonable range. Lorde erased all of that progress by hitting 429 to ice the Tradewinds offense at 1424. Nikolai couldn't shut things down for the Cascades, producing only 112 as they lost with 936. Commerce is now 2-0, while Freedom falls to 0-1 to begin their season.

Amazon Field, Golden: The first part of the week wraps up with this battle. Panda took 493 for Southern this time, a much better showing. Valencia countered with 215 for Golden, cutting the deficit slightly. Shannon stumbled with 128 for the Monarchs, leaving their lead a bit vulnerable. Dusty did well to preserve her wicket when it got in front of her on a technical glitch, blasting 1158 while working mostly with lifted shots. Kirstin took 308 back for Southern, a solid effort but barely denting the deficit as it stands. Strut kept it simple, striking 240 for Golden to maintain the lead. Nicole's 267 gave the Monarchs a respectable total of 1196, but they'd end up taking the loss anyway. A. Charlton smacked another 535 for the Pilots, producing their 2148-point final for the win. Golden is now 1-1 on the year, while Southern drops to 0-2.

Part 2 on the way, likely for Friday or Saturday.
