Sprint Pitch, Victoria: The Southwest plays their only B-game this week against the Eastern Hills, who are doing the same. Cubby started off with 506 for Eastern Hills, as the switch player on the squad puts in a good performance. Snowball couldn't come close to matching that with 153 for Southwest, a poor start from a respected captain. Salmo answered with 210 for Eastern Hills, keeping them in control of the game so far. Sage couldn't get far for Southwest, crashing out at 160 despite starting the appearance with good pace. Taylor M. replied with 711 for Eastern Hills, the incoming rookie looking strong in her second game. Andrew had a terrible beginning to his turn, and he couldn't shake a poor pace, falling at 69 as the Southwest drops further behind. Sarah produced 256 for Eastern Hills, capping their offense at 1683 in a likely victory. Sydney C. did a lot to make things respectable, striking 862 for Southwest to set their losing final score at 1244. Eastern Hills starts 1-0 in the B-Division, while Southwest dips to 0-1 at the start of the year.
Starbucks Cup, Archtown: The Northeast is ready to begin their B-Division slate against the Urban region. Luigi got going with 259 for Urban, not a great start but not as bad as it could have been. Ruby pummeled 722 for Northeast on their first turn, giving them a large lead initially. Puff I had a miserable time with 166 for Urban on the second attack, hardly denting the deficit. Diddley answered with 402 for Northeast, extending their lead halfway through the game. Peach looked better for her Urban teammates with 385, but they remain at a deep deficit. Shiny did pretty well with 358 for Northeast, mostly maintaining the lead late in the game. Cowzart his 641 for Urban, but they ended up falling short at 1451 for the game. Wild Thing kept it simple with 54 for Northeast, ending their offense at 1536 in the win. Northeast is 1-0 now, while Urban drops to 0-1 in a busy week.
Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Southeast makes their B-Division debut against the Northeast. Ruby blasted 1464 for Northeast right at the start, a massive performance from the respected squad captain. Briana chipped 231 for Southeast, falling far short of the significant deficit facing them. Rudolph had a false start for Northeast, and then hit just 63 on the second attempt. Hughbert cut into the deficit quite a bit with 727 for Southeast, giving them some momentum at the game's halfway point. Diddley restored a lot of the Northeast lead with 527 on his turn, a good outing from another veteran. A. Charlton contributed 472 for Southeast here, ceding a bit more ground late in the game. Shiny hauled in 583 for Northeast at the end, capping their offense at 2637. Kitty's debut saw her record 448 in a decent outing, but Southeast took the loss on a total of 1878. Northeast rises to 2-0 early in the year, while Southeast starts off at 0-1.
Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: Urban takes its first game at home against the Southeast. Hughbert opened with 496 for Southeast, taking a turn in the lead off role and doing well with it. Tigerette floundered with 208 for Urban, putting them behind after the initial turn. A. Charlton butchered her turn with only 92 for Southeast, weakening their lead dramatically. Luigi picked up 209 for Urban, covering a little bit of the deficit but not all of it at the midway mark. Kitty had too many deflections cluttering the pitch, ending her turn at 45 as Southeast's lead unravels some more. Peach provided a breakthrough with 359 for Urban, pulling them ahead with a player each to go. Hannah stepped in for the Southeast, as the primarily A-Division player hit 574 to give the visitors 1207 in total. Cowzart failed to have an answer for that, his 167 sealing Urban's surprising loss at 943. Southeast pulls off a miracle to reach 1-1, while Urban drops again to 0-2.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Urban makes the short trip west to face Coastal in the middle game of their tripleheader. Tigerette fell with a measly 60 for Urban on the first turn, unable to backhand a fast floating offering away. Chicky Phil hammered 762 for Coastal in response, setting the tone favorably for the hosts. Puff I had a pathetic 32 on the second attack, as Urban's fortunes did not improve. Dewey managed only 192 for Coastal, mitigating the extension to their lead at the halfway point. Peach replied with 296 for Urban, staying in a range of mild to solid performances. Avril fought it off with 311 for Coastal, keeping their lead steady late in the game. Cowzart had a mediocre 240 for Urban at the end, causing their offense to drop again at a total of 628. Hoppy sliced 393 for Coastal at the end, finishing off their win at 1658. Coastal is 1-0 in the B-Division, while Urban sinks to 0-3.
Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: Urban returns home to face Northeast for the second time this week in the Week 1 finale. Ruby didn't replicate her previous outing this time, falling at 345 to start Northeast off decently. Tigerette kept things close with 328 for Urban on their opening turn. Rudolph failed to extend the Northeast lead much with a measly 42 on his turn. Luigi pulled Urban ahead by a small amount with a poor 135, bringing the game to half-completion. Shiny carved out 682 for Northeast, regaining the lead in fantastic form. Puff I fell far short of that with 208 for Urban, putting them behind again as the final players come to bat. Wild Thing collected 327 for Northeast at the end, putting their final score at 1396. Peach failed to catch up with 202 for Urban, leaving them in a loss at 873. Northeast jumps to 3-0, while Urban remains deep in last at 0-4.
Tournament play is still on hold due to injury. An estimated return date is unknown at this time.
