Ruby answered with 791 for Northeast, giving the hosts a bit of an edge to start this one. Hughbert saw a double-deflection end his turn at 105 for Southeast, failing to cover the deficit. Diddley covered that damage with a poor 184 for Northeast, maintaining their lead. A. Charlton attacked with 432 for Southeast, pulling them narrowly ahead with the effort. Shiny showed great strength with 968 for Northeast, boosting their lead significantly. Kitty collapsed with 54 for Southeast, leaving them in a loss at 1030. Wild Thing had fantastic pace, ending on 407 with an early exit to seal the Northeast win at 2350. Northeast is 4-0, while Southeast drops to 1-2.
The Intel Pitch, Diamond: Eastern Hills plays their home game of the week against the Southwest in this one. Snowball sent a ball too high, ending at a measly 36 for Southwest in a terrible start to the game. Cubby had 537 in response for Eastern Hills, a strong appearance to give them the initial lead. Sage crumbled at 98 for Southwest, unable to get their offense going two turns in. Salmo added 144 for Eastern Hills in a less-than-impressive response. Andrew had a mediocre 241 for Southwest this time, not approaching the opponent in any meaningful way. Cobalt crashed out at 96 for Eastern Hills, causing their lead to weaken. Sydney C. pressured with 543 for Southwest, forcing a response from the hosts at the end as her side ends with 918. Taylor M. didn't look very confident for Eastern Hills, but her 198 secured their win at 975. The low-scoring game saw Eastern Hills rise to 2-0, while Southwest drops to 0-2 with the loss.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: The Northeast begins a doubleheader, while the Southwest finishes one right here. Sage had a pathetic 36 for Southwest in an awful first turn for the visitors. Ruby saw her confidence falter at times for Northeast, ending with a middling 263 to give them a small lead. Andrew answered with 216 for Southwest, just coming up short of meeting the deficit. Rudolph countered with 433 for Northeast, his best performance of the season so far. Sydney showed a bit of skill with 481 for Southwest, covering the deficit this time. Shiny regained the lead for Northeast with 320, starting with good pace before taking a step back by the end of the turn. Solaris answered with 336 for Southwest, forcing the hosts into a response to their final score of 1069. Wild Thing chipped 263 for Northeast to close out their win at 1279. Northeast remains unscathed at 5-0, while Southwest sinks to 0-3 in another close game.
Chevrolet Field, Everton: Northeast closes out its week against Coastal, who play in the final three games beginning here. Chicky Phil made a good play on his backhand, but fell at 281 after losing some momentum on his swings for Coastal. Rudolph looked great in a lead-off role, smashing 759 for Northeast in this game. Ms. Kitty had a sloppy 145 for Coastal, failing to approach the deficit. Diddley replied with 200 for Northeast, keeping them in the lead at the midway mark. Avril produced 312 for Coastal this time, still not enough to challenge the hosts. Shiny slipped at 99 for Northeast, a rare rough outing for the veteran. Hoppy made a push with 560 for Coastal, setting their final score at 1298. Wild Thing flicked 302 for Northeast at the end, securing another win at 1360, a bit of a thin margin. Northeast is perfect at 6-0, while Coastal dips to 1-1.
Apple Park, TodavĂa: Coastal now begins a pair of home games against the Eastern Hills, playing the set in two different venues. Cubby slammed 958 for Eastern Hills to get things going in great form for the visitors. Chicky Phil fired back with 807 for Coastal, keeping them within striking distance. Taylor M. fought back with 608 for Eastern Hills, another strong attack in an offense-filled start. Ms. Kitty stayed close with 544 for Coastal, but they remain a bit behind at the midway mark. Sarah kept going with 626 for Eastern Hills, a relentless wave of attack from the visitors. Dewey fell apart at 164 for Coastal, making a comeback less likely. Vladimir supplied 394 for Eastern Hills at the end, giving them a total of 2586 in a likely victory. Hoppy took 391 in response for Coastal, leaving them short at a loss with 1906. Eastern Hills rises to 3-0, while Coastal drops to 1-2.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: This is the second match with Coastal hosting the Eastern Hills. Salmo had a decent 411 for Eastern Hills to lead off in the week 2 finale. Chicky Phil had a much weaker 101 for Coastal this time, causing them to be behind again. Cobalt tapped 296 for Eastern Hills on the second attack, giving their lead a small boost. Ms. Kitty answered with 450 for Coastal here, cutting into the deficit a bit halfway through the game. Sarah had a weak 113 for Eastern Hills this time, leaving them exposed at this point. Avril collected 272 for Coastal on her turn, putting them very narrowly ahead of the visitors with a player each to go. Citrus collapsed at just 80 for Eastern Hills, leaving them at a final score of 900. Hoppy grabbed 320 at the end for Coastal to secure a win at 1143. Coastal bounces back to 2-2, while Eastern Hills drops to 3-1.
We've decided to take one more day off from Tournament play; tomorrow is now the expected return date.
