The top division is set to play on Saturday, beginning with...
HP Field, Midland: The Predators look to get in the win column with Fuchsia on the bench, while the Blades sit Bandit for rest in the opener for the week. Snowball belted 1188 on the first turn for Swordpoint, immediately setting the tone for her side. Shawn had nothing close to a response in hitting only 152 for Midland, the struggling captain seeing another bad game on his ledger. Dreamy added a solid 426 for the Blades, shoring up their lead with the effort. Rainmane made some progress with 593 for the Predators, but they have a long way to go if they want to catch up. Stealth bowed out at 292 for Swordpoint, a mediocre turn that shows the visitors will just try to hold on. Americus dug in and scraped up 694 for Midland, carving a large chunk out of the deficit. Sugar popped up at 72 for the Blades, leaving them with 1978 total, a not-yet secure amount. Kitty picked up 534 for the Predators at the end, giving them 1973 in a five-point loss. Swordpoint made that closer than it needed to be in going to 5-4, while Midland takes a brutal loss to 0-5 on the year.
Chevrolet Field, Everton: The Eagles will sit Kirstin in a rematch from last week, while the visiting Swifts are without Puff II due to rest as they seek revenge. Patches cranked 609 before swinging and missing to end Boston's opening turn with a good performance. Goldy also saw a ball hop over her bat, but she ended with a mere 260 after her bad swing, putting Everton in a noticeable hole. Gradley's momentum was ruined by making a reaching save, and he soon exited at 328 for the Swifts, struggling with a perky pitch. Bear answered with 694 for the Eagles, covering the deficit on a pacey and bold turn. Sweetheart restarted the Boston offense with 560 on her turn, restoring their lead for now. Cleo looped in 714 for Everton with a good pace and a smart stance, pulling them ahead with a player each to go. Ice Cream had a rough turn with only 264 for the Swifts, leaving them at 1761. Puff III cancelled that out with 292 for the Eagles, enough to give them a win at 1960. Everton is up to 3-4 this season, while Boston is frustrated again by this team as they drop to 1-2.
Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: The Torpedoes will bench Shelley for performance in their home opener, while the Warriors are set to give Wings some rest in this one. Twilight pushed hard at the start, collecting 621 to put Central ahead quite nicely. Smudge fired back with 329 for Infinity, an alright start from the captain in their home opener. Dustin rifled 719 for the Warriors on the second attack, showing little mercy and clinical placement on his swings. Fluffina had only 314 for the Torpedoes, unable to use pace or accuracy to her advantage. Central finally debuted their rookie, Andrew, and he tallied 559 on his first appearance, fitting right into the game. Mr. Snowman couldn't break out of Infinity's poor scoring, tallying 384 in a decent but unimpressive turn. Noelle got caught on her backhand, falling at 230 as the Warriors close with 2129. Hughbert buckled at 214 as the Torpedoes took a hard loss at 1241. Central is 2-1 and could be dangerous, while Infinity drops to a non-threatening 1-2.
Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The two winless teams in Premier meet for the first of two games this week, with Shawn benched for the visitors while Charli sits for the hosts. Rainmane dropped off from her last appearance, recording 276 this time in an iffy start. Sarah bounced back with 744 for Tysini, her best performance yet leading the hosts to the initial lead. Americus took 339 for the Predators on the second attack, unable to cover the deficit. Leandra covered that damage with a solid 371 for the Hummingbirds, failing to add meaningfully to the lead. Fuchsia pushed Midland a little closer with 497 on her turn, shrinking the deficit in the process. Vincent mostly fought off the danger with 432 for Tysini, keeping them ahead leading into the final turn. Kitty failed to challenge the deficit, her 177 for the Predators leaving them short at 1289 in another loss. Paps gave a good performance at the end with 451 for the Hummingbirds, finishing off their win at 1998. Tysini is 1-2 on the year, while Midland plummets to 0-6.
McDonald's Pitch at Pirates Park, Atlantic: The Pirates give Jason N. rest to start their tripleheader, while the Warriors will sit Noelle in the third of a four-game road trip. Twilight continued to show strength in her attacks, leading off this game with 635 for Central. Delila lifted a swing far too soon and ended at 195 for Atlantic, putting them far back to start this game. Dustin replied with 397 for the Warriors on the second attack, keeping their lead in a good position. Isabella showed a little more bite on her 434 for the Pirates, taking a small piece of the deficit away at the midway mark. Wings returned from rest and didn't lose a step at all, piling on 677 to boost Central's lead. Steven took a step back with 373 for Atlantic, getting a ball caught under his bat to slow down their comeback effort. Andrew dropped at 258 for the Warriors, a bit uncomfortable as the closer to bring their total to 1967. Klaus had a good 492 for the Pirates, but it only covered about half the deficit as the hosts lose with 1494. Central rises to 3-1 on the year, while Atlantic drops to 2-4.
McDonald's Pitch at Pirates Park, Atlantic: In the middle game of their tripleheader, the Pirates rest Delila, while the visiting Sharpshooters go without Sprinkles this time. Chris capitalized on the opponents sitting their captain, slashing 691 on the first turn to give Capital City a good lead. Isabella likely earned herself a game off with only 177 for Atlantic in response, putting them far behind. Missy poked 339 for the Sharpshooters in her season debut, this game following a similar pattern to the hosts' last game. Steven launched 702 for the Pirates, cutting deeply into the deficit with this attack. Lorde had a good pace but not much length to her turn, ending with a decent 332 as Capital City's lead falters a bit. Klaus caught up a little more with 447 for Atlantic, but it will come down to the final players' turns. Pauline had a middling 248 for the Sharpshooters at the end, the uncertainty in her swing leaving her side at a total of 1610. Jason N. found 436 for the Pirates, completing their comeback at 1762 and a win. Atlantic rises to 3-4 while Capital City is down to 1-1 with the disappointing game.
Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: The Pirates will give Isabella rest as hinted earlier, while the Torpedoes look to get on track with Hughbert out of the lineup. Delila returned to the lineup with an exclamation of power, hammering 902 to give Atlantic a massive first lead. Smudge replied with 470 for Infinity, a good showing to approximately halve the deficit. Steven raked in 379 for the Pirates, causing their lead to weaken slightly. Fluffina took advantage of the moment of weakness, pushing 464 for the Torpedoes to make gains at the midpoint of the game. Klaus appeared to be running out of power for Atlantic, falling off at 255 as their lead takes another knock. Shelley failed to capitalize with only 96 for Infinity, as regression has hit her harder than most this season. Jason N. tapped another 407 for the Pirates at the end, bringing their total to 1943. Mr. Snowman went on a comeback rally but couldn't complete the job, his 629 leading the Torpedoes in a loss with a final score of 1659. Atlantic does well in a busy stretch of their schedule, rising to 4-4, while Infinity drops to 1-3.
Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Swifts look to take down the team that has replaced them atop the standings. Midnight rests for the Rockers, while Ice Cream sits for the Swifts. Misty showed no fear despite the opponent, churning her way to 665 for Westside to lead off the game. Patches went with excellent pace and scored 676 for Boston, edging them ahead initially. Slinks fired back with 537 for the Rockers, refusing to back down from the menacing opponent. Puff II couldn't keep up this time, hitting an average 407 as the Swifts slip behind midway through the game. Goatee went off again for Westside, making the early MVP case with another 825 to extend the lead here. Gradley put up no resistance with 243 for Boston, as last year's top team is headed for another loss. Chimpy had a poor 224 for the Rockers, but their final score rests at a comfortable 2251. Sweetheart had pace for awhile in her turn, but her early exit at 345 left the Swifts at a confirmed loss with 1671. Westside has announced their arrival as the class of Premier at 8-0, while Boston drops to 1-3 with diminishing returns on offense.
Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: The Blades have Stealth resting in this game, while the Eagles will be without Puff III, also for team-chosen rest. Goldy put out a vintage performance with 763 for Everton, one of her best outings of the season coming against a tired opponent. Snowball didn't have anything in the tank after her previous outing, falling here at 164 as Swordpoint starts from behind. Bear found a groove and abused it to the tune of 806 for the Eagles, extending their lead greatly with the second attack. Dreamy didn't do much to counteract these attacks, her 310 paling in comparison for the Blades. Cleo took it easy with 339 for Everton on her turn, with the visitors in little danger right now. Bandit did his due diligence on attack, but he only had 319 for Swordpoint, not even enough to cover the recent damage. Kirstin did well with 529 for the Eagles, recouping some of their trust by icing the offense at 2437. Sugar made a quick exit at 50 for the Blades, leaving them in a loss with just 843 total. Everton is up to 4-4 now, while Swordpoint falls back to an even 5-5.
HP Field, Midland: The Predators hope home field will help them exact revenge with Kitty on the bench, while the Hummingbirds will sit Charli again since it worked the last time they played. Sarah started well with 567 for Tysini, helping her side stake out the early lead. Shawn answered with 836 for Midland, his best game this season giving the hosts a rare lead. Leandra covered the deficit with 525 on her turn for the Hummingbirds, keeping things competitive. Rainmane popped 858 for the Predators, showing some force that they've lacked for most of the season so far. Vincent made a mess of his turn with 326 for Tysini, unable to get them back in the battle. Americus faltered as well with only 104 for Midland, tightening the game heading into the final turn. Paps put up 482 for the Hummingbirds, forcing a response to their final score of 1900. Fuchsia had only 184, but the Predators had enough to win at 1982. Midland is off the blocks at 1-6, while Tysini sinks back to 1-3 after splitting the two meetings between these teams.
Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Swifts have Sweetheart on the bench in the Sisterhood Derby, while the visiting Pilots give Sparkles this game off. Valencia had a solid 454 for Golden to lead off the game, hoping it will hold up well against a hungry opponent. Patches lashed 729 for Boston in response, pulling them noticeably ahead after one turn. Dusty covered the deficit with 436 for the Pilots, but they are not in a comfortable position here. Puff II kept a high pace and added 537 to the Swifts' offense, restoring a larger lead with the effort. Strut produced 376 for Golden on his turn, which wasn't enough to cover the deficit as the visitors appear a step behind in this one. Gradley kept Boston on track for the victory with 523, extending their lead a little more. Max posted 396 as the Pilots took the loss at 1662. Ice Cream went big with 627 for the Swifts, a vintage team performance capped at 2416 in the win. Boston's bounce-back got them to 2-3 while dumping Golden to 3-2.
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: The Sharpshooters rest Missy again this time, while the Hummingbirds look to bounce back with Vincent sitting in the second game of their five-game road trip. Sarah slapped 564 for Tysini to open the scoring with a productive outing. Chris exited with only 162 for Capital City, showing a little too much energy with his scattered swings. Leandra answered with a poor 130 for the Hummingbirds, failing to capitalize on the chance to extend the lead. Sprinkles returned to the lineup with 715 for the Sharpshooters, putting them ahead halfway through the game. Charli also drew back in after two games out for Tysini, her 408 covering the deficit successfully. Lorde went off with 748 for Capital City, strengthening their lead with a player each to go. Paps had a commanding swing but ended at 329 after a high hit, leaving the Hummingbirds to lose with 1431. Pauline ended with 295 for the Sharpshooters, capping their win at 1920. Capital city is 2-1 on the year, while Tysini drops to 1-4.
That's it for Week 3. Select will play some games today, with the rest of their Week 4 action set to be played tomorrow before Heart of the Game 13-ball returns for round two.
