Sunday's two-division action resumes now in the website's 1,000th post as Select jumps into their third week of the season. First up...
Microsoft Pitch, Del Sur: The Monarchs will rest Dominic as they play in the week's opener to start a three-game home stand, while the Gems rest Shadow in the second of a four-game road trip. Smokey sent 492 for Diamond on the opening turn, a good look from the visiting captain. Mams looked even better for Southern, launching 719 to put them ahead early on. Pedey replied with 679 for the Gems, doing his part to cover the deficit this time. Panda managed 414 for the Monarchs, which causes the game to get much closer. Katelynn sent Diamond noticeably ahead with 388 on her turn, but this is still either team's game. Pounce pushed back with 475 for Southern, enough to restore their lead heading into the final turn of a back-and-forth game. Leonardo popped up with 355 for the Gems, setting their final score at 1914 to force a response from the hosts. Salmo had only 289 for the Monarchs, leaving them short at 1897 in a disappointing finish. Diamond escapes with a win to get to 2-3, while Southern sinks to 0-3.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: The Spiders have Avril on the bench after a bad road trip, while the Wolves sit their newcomer Wild Thing for performance issues in the third of a five-game road trip. Juno missed a fast offering and ended at 467 when it took out her wicket, a solid start from Stonebridge's captain. Waluigi couldn't get it all back for Web City, falling with 281 to give them an early deficit. Cobalt went with 439 for the Wolves on this turn, adding a bit to their lead. Ted missed a swing this time, clipping it off his bat and into the wicket to end with a middling 230 for the Spiders. Hershey stayed in line with his Stonebridge teammates with 458 this time out, keeping their lead strong. Jack shot back with 438 to mitigate the damage for Web City, but a comeback seems unlikely for the hosts. Vladimir tacked on 456 for the Wolves at the end of the game, sealing their attack at 1820. Chicky Phil fell with 214 for the Spiders, another poor turn from the hosts giving them a loss at 1163. Stonebridge moves ahead at 2-3, while Web City drops back to 1-4.
Microsoft Pitch, Del Sur: The Monarchs get their first chance to welcome Hoppy home, sitting Salmo in this game, while the Arrows will rest Sleepy B. for the first time this season in the reunion game. Sally just knocked her wicket out for Archtown on a backhand try, but she did score an impressive 720 first. Mams fired back with 416 for Southern, putting them at a distinct deficit early on. Hoppy outplayed that attack with 504 for the Arrows, clearly enjoying her return to this stadium. Panda gained minimal ground with 512 for the Monarchs, keeping things competitive for now. Dusky's lack of power in her attacks persisted for Archtown as she scored a mild 276. Pounce wasted the chance to make an impact against the deficit, recording only 290 for Southern for more small progress. A. Charlton bopped 490 for the Arrows at the end of her turn, giving them a total of 1990. Dominic went with a fast attack, which backfired with his exit at 324, leaving the Monarchs in another loss at 1542. Archtown is up to 4-2 on the year, while Southern drops to 0-4 with this loss.
FedEx Ground, Eastside: The Sharks are sitting their rookie Taylor M. for this game, while the Meteors have scheduled Hoot for his first rest of the season. Princess did alright with 368 for Viewpoint Sound at the start, but they'd like to see more out of her in general. Graham had only 81 for Eastside in an ugly start for the hosts' captain, setting them behind initially. Frosty fired back with a solid 466 for the Meteors, building up the lead a bit better. Chelsea managed 304 for the Sharks, but they look badly out of form halfway through this game. Nibbles went off with 944 for Viewpoint Sound, making it likely that they will emerge victorious. Gizmo had an acceptable 352 for Eastside, unable to do much to fight back late in the game. Dani padded the Meteors lead with 572 at the end, capping their offense at 2350. Cubby had 329 for the Sharks, leaving them with the loss at 1066. Viewpoint Sound improves to 2-3, while Eastside looks lost at 1-2 on the year.
Sprint Pitch, Victoria: The Spurs look to stay perfect with Sage on the bench for performance, while Ted will sit out for the Spiders as they go for an upset. Waluigi hit 341 for Web City, continuing to be steady but unremarkable for his new team. Spice fired back with a sturdy 629 for Victoria, establishing the expected lead for the hosts. Jack cancelled that out with 624 for the Spiders, covering the deficit on the second attack for the visitors. Yekaterina smashed 1103 for the Spurs to strengthen their lead at the midway mark with a massive performance. Avril had a strong 544 for Web City this time, her best outing of the season so far. Strawberry lost a little bit of the lead with 451 for Victoria, but they remain firmly in control. Chicky Phil made a good push with 527 for the Spiders, but they will fall again at a total of 2036. Mitchell finished the Spurs' win with 368, giving them a final score of 2551. Victoria is clearly tops in Select at 6-0, while Web City is a bit unlucky to be 1-5 on the year.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: The Spiders sit their new lead-off hitter Waluigi in Shadow's homecoming game, while the visiting Gems bench Katelynn. Shadow had a vintage pacey performance for Diamond, striking an even 500 after a standing ovation from his former fans. Ted answered with 436 for Web City in his first lead-off turn of the year, keeping it close. Smokey delivered a stronger second attack with 546 for the Gems, reaffirming their lead. Jack took a step back from his usual production with 361, unable to find a hefty pace for the Spiders this time. Pedey finally had a bad game for Diamond, hitting a meager 96 after plenty of good outings before. Avril went off with 587 for Web City, turning the tide in favor of the hosts with a player each to go. Leonardo pulled a swing up too high, ending with 260 as the Gems will likely take the loss at 1402. Chicky Phil did enough with 345 to give the Spiders the win at the end, with a final score at 1729. Web City jumps to 2-5, while Diamond remains just ahead at 2-4.
UPS Ground, Maplewood: The first Shippers Derby of the year is here, with the Sharks sitting Graham and the Lumberjacks resting Whiskers as both normal lead-off hitters will not play. Chelsea raked 422 for Eastside in a pacey attack that inspires confidence for the visitors. Diddley answered with 514 for Maplewood, the captain doing his part to give the hosts an early lead. Taylor M. countered with 480 for the Sharks, the rookie showing a little bite after being benched. Summer couldn't cover that deficit with only 115 for the Lumberjacks, putting them at a deficit. Gizmo looked good at first, but a high hit stalled him at 276 as Eastside only gets a small extension on their lead. Bryant ripped 740 on his turn, restoring a lead for Maplewood late in this back-and-forth game. Cubby faltered with 130 for the Sharks, leaving them to lose at 1308. Gabe picked up 384 for the Lumberjacks to seal their win at 1753. Maplewood is 3-1 on the year, while Eastside drops to 1-3.
Starbucks Cup, Archtown: The Arrows are sitting Dusky out in their return home, while the Wolves will be without Hershey in the fourth of their five-game road trip. Juno chopped a solid 499 for Stonebridge in this game, leading off with force once again. Sally cracked 606 for Archtown in response, enough to give the hosts the initial lead. Cobalt responded with 529 for the Wolves, doing well to cover the deficit on their second attack. Sleepy B. got stuck with the ball on her backhand, falling at 460 as the Arrows lose some of their lead. Wild Thing pummeled 1109 for Stonebridge on his turn, staking out a massive lead for the visitors. Hoppy's struggles at home continued with only 108 for Archtown on this turn, dimming their hopes for a comeback. Vladimir tacked on 414 as the Wolves close with 2551 overall. A. Charlton had just 32 points for the Arrows in a horrible finish to put them at 1206 in the loss. Stonebridge is even again at 3-3, while Archtown drops to 4-3.
Mercedes-Benz Field, Harrison: The Specters sit Blizzard for the first time this season to end a three-game home stand, while the Union embark on a five-game road trip by sitting their captain Ms. Puppy. Daisy had fun for Modernistic in a rare lead-off appearance, smacking 679 to start this game. Sydney S. fired back with 876 for Harrison, a more commanding attack to put the hosts ahead. Puff I had little hesitation on her turn, but she flicked a ball high to end at 371 as the Union barely cover the deficit. Twinkie II helped the the Specters build up their lead with 470 on the second attack. Kodiak couldn't do much for Modernistic with 335 on his turn, just trying to keep them in the game. Lexi replied with 521 for Harrison, continuing to maintain their lead at this point. Sydney C. played well with 443, but the Union ended up short anyways at 1828. Rudolph added 547 for the Specters, completing their commanding win with 2414 total. Harrison is up to 5-3, while Modernistic drops to 1-2.
FedEx Ground, Eastside: The Sharks are back at home and giving Cubby this one off, while Yekaterina takes a well-earned first rest of the season for the undefeated Spurs. Spice fired off 705 for Victoria, an aggressive start to help them start with positive offense. Graham did alright with 570 for Eastside, battling a distraction that ultimately caused the end of his turn. Sage grabbed 375 for the Spurs, getting overwhelmed a bit quicker than expected in the turn. Chelsea made progress with 463 for the Sharks, pulling them close halfway through the game. Strawberry rebutted the danger with 655 for Victoria, giving them a booster on offense. Taylor M. didn't do enough with 274 for Eastside, barely denting the deficit at all. Mitchell chipped 436 for the Spurs at the end, putting them at a total of 2171 for the game. Gizmo had a great game going, but his last three swings were hideous, causing him to fall short with 572 as the Sharks lost with 1879. Victoria stays perfect at 7-0, while Eastside sinks to 1-4.
Sprint Pitch, Victoria: The Spurs cycle through their lineup again, sitting Strawberry this time, while the Specters leave Blizzard on the bench after winning their last game without her. Sydney S. cranked out 584 for Harrison, a fantastic pace as the driving force for this lead-off attack. Spice fell at 160 for Victoria, an unfortunately poor start for the dangerous hosts. Twinkie II just clipped the boundary to end her turn at 305 for the Specters, potentially leaving the door open at this moment. Yekaterina gained ground with 525 for the Spurs, but they'll need more than that in the second half of the game. Lexi got a ball caught on the handle of her bat, causing her to exit at 160 for Harrison, who are collapsing in the middle of the game. Sage took 170 for Victoria, leaving the result of the game up to the final players on each side. Rudolph hit a decent 343 for the Specters, giving them a total of 1392. Mitchell fell with 279 for the Spurs against his former team, handing the hosts their first loss at 1134. Harrison is 6-3 on the year, while Victoria falls back to 7-1.

Whiskers clobbered 663 for Maplewood to start the game positively for the visitors. Mams managed 326 for Southern, halving the deficit after the first turn. Diddley offered a good supporting attack with 487 for the Lumberjacks, helping to maintain their lead after two turns. Panda lost a little more ground with a solid 416 for the Monarchs, unable to fight back against the deficit. Bryant poked 348 for Maplewood, an unspectacular effort that he hopes won't endanger their lead. Dominic made up a little ground with 388 for Southern, but they'll need much more than that to catch up. Gabe went with a high-pace attack, tallying 619 as the Lumberjacks close the game with 2117. Salmo had only 227 for the Monarchs, leaving them at 1357 in the loss. Maplewood is up to 4-1, while Southern stays winless at 0-5.
