No rest for the league as a high pace is maintained. We begin the eleventh week of the season as usual in...
Starbucks Cup, Archtown: The Stills are seeking a sweep here, but should face a much tougher challenge with the Arrows at home, their position of strength. Easter belted 952 for Todavía right off the bat, wasting no time in exchanging pleasantries with their competitive rivals. Sally took only 231 in a weak response for Archtown. Sierra pounded another 1235 for the Stills, keeping their collective foot on the gas in this game. Sleepy B. got 739 of it back for the Arrows as the game takes on a full-offense theme. Leonardo slipped with 245 for Todavía, but they still hold a massive lead. Ruby had a feeble 248 for Archtown, wasting a chance to cut into the deficit. Sparkles dipped in with 201 for the Stills, giving them 2633 total in what's likely going down as a win. Dusky had a meager 113 for the Arrows, and they lost with 1331. Todavía takes the season series in a sweep, moving along to 11-11, while quickly closing in on the 8-7 Archtown side.
McDonald's Pitch at Pirates Park, Atlantic: The Pirates return to action after a historically great week 10, taking on another struggling Southeastern team. Frosty kept that statement true, taking a pathetic 36 for Royal. Delila didn't set any records this time, but her 224 gave Atlantic a modest lead. Jake tapped 263 for the Crowns, giving them a slight edge for a little while. Amber made a bigger impact for the Pirates, posting 537 to give them a stronger lead halfway through the game. Marsell chipped back with 304 for Royal, but they still face a deficit. Americus slammed another 688 for Atlantic, extending their lead confidently. Nightfur pieced together 501 for the Crowns, but the rally left them at 1104 in the loss, their fourth straight on the road. Dominic capped the Pirates win with 514 individually to give them 1963 total. Atlantic won again with serious bravado, moving up to 13-10, while Royal's cold snap continues to 6-13 as the losing streak hits seven games.
Coca-Cola Field, Boston: After spoiling the Gems' home opener, the Swifts look to take the season series in a sweep ten weeks later on their on turf. Smokey rocketed to 655 for Diamond to lead off the game, putting up a large obstacle for the hosts to face. Patches methodically rallied back with 704 to give Boston the lead, going at a much slower pace to disrupt the visitors' rhythm. Citrus faltered with 157 for the Gems, leaving the vulnerable at this juncture. Puff II saw the chance and ran with it for the Swifts, slicing 560 to give them a noticeable lead. Pedey didn't let his game waver, grabbing 506 for Diamond to keep them alive. Gradley got a bit stuck, pulling in 155 for Boston as the game tightens late. Cassandra stumbled with 192 for the Gems, giving them 1510 total, which is definitely far from safe. Sweetheart went too cautious for the Swifts, making a single mistake to take a measly 72 points and leave them in a loss with 1491. Diamond lucked out with the win to split the season series, but they are up to 10-10 on a three-game win streak, while Boston slides to 16-9 with the unfortunate loss.
Capital City SuperCenter: Two Center Division teams get to see how they compare in what should be a close game. Tigerette maintained her recent form, slapping 631 for Commerce to start the game strong. Chris faltered with 193 for Capital City, putting them in a difficult starting position. Ice Cream cranked out another 829 for the Tradewinds, supplementing the lead successfully. Missy answered with 353 as the Sharpshooters continue to trail. Lionel maintained the Commerce lead with 344, keeping them firmly in front. Sprinkles fluttered in with 328 for Capital City, failing to make a big impact. Lorde had just 128 for the Tradewinds, ending their efforts at 1932 in a prospective win. Dani mounted a furious comeback with 609 for the Sharpshooters, but they still lost with 1483 as the result went official. Commerce continues to be better than average, now with a record of 16-8, while Capital City is down to 8-10.
Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Tradewinds now play in their second of three straight games, with fatigue a very real possibility given their already-hectic schedule, while the Warriors look to complete a sweep. Tigerette posted a respectable 320 for Commerce, saving a bit of energy for their next game. Twilight kept it close with a somewhat low 304 for Central, at least by her near-MVP standards. Ice Cream answered with 445 to add onto the Tradewinds lead, a helpful contribution. Dustin had only 324 in response, leaving the Warriors a little farther behind now. Lionel unleashed another 607 to extend the Commerce lead, giving them a significant advantage later in the game. Noelle tried to play big but ended up reckless, taking just 72 as Central faces a steep disadvantage. Lorde's 336 brought the Tradewinds to 1708 overall, which is expected to be enough to win. Gizmo took 432 for the Warriors, but they came up short at a total of 1132. Commerce continues to surge to 17-8, while Central falls behind them at 14-8.
Nike Field, Commerce: The Tradewinds complete the triple-header, starting the game as the #4 team in the league trying to stave off a sweep attempt from the #5 in the league Hummingbirds. Princess clobbered 798 for Tysini in a wonderful start. Tigerette kept her scoring strong with 476 for Commerce, keeping them within range. Leandra scooped 304 for the Hummingbirds, allowing the lead to potentially slip. Ice Cream covered some of the deficit, batting 560 for the Tradewinds in a decent showing. Charli left Tysini extremely vulnerable by taking only 128. Lionel's 281 gave Commerce a minor lead heading into the final players, as the game takes an interesting turn. Bright stepped up with a massive 953 to give the Hummingbirds a final of 2183, a very strong finishing point. Lorde put in a remarkable comeback turn, but her 607 left the Tradewinds short at 1924. Tysini gets the season sweep against a competitive but exhausted opponent, taking over in fourth league-wide at 14-7, while Commerce's four-game winning streak ends as they fall to 17-9.
The Intel Pitch, Diamond: The yellowest teams in the league tangle again, with the Spurs seeking the season sweep after a home victory earlier in the year. Spice had her worst showing on the road all year, taking just 75 as Victoria starts off bad. Smokey continued to play well, drilling 643 to give Diamond a substantial first lead. B. Chapman's misplay added a meager 64 to the Spurs' total, as it appears this is just not their day. Citrus swatted another 703 for the Gems, padding their lead a little more. Yekaterina rampaged Victoria back into the game, scoring 733 on her comeback effort. Pedey threw out a stiff arm of sorts, with his 392 serving the purpose of preserving the lead for Diamond. Kavan posted 257 for the Spurs, which left them short at 1129 in a loss. Cassandra's 232 put them Gems at 1970 in the win. Diamond gets the season split in commanding form, heading into positive territory at 11-10, while Victoria suffers a setback to 7-15.
HP Field, Eastside: The Stills continue an Eastern road trip to the rural southeast to face a hot Sharks team. Easter fell with 39 for Todavía, ending a recent surge for her. Graham had another middling home effort, corralling only 209 for Eastside in this appearance. Sierra brought the noise for the Stills, smacking 668 to give them a lead. Chelsea replied with 289 for the Sharks, and they fall slightly behind at the halfway point. Leonardo stumbled with 36 for Todavía, leaving them vulnerable with a slight lead currently. Taylor got some of it back, but her 112 for Eastside did not cover the whole deficit, and they trail with a player each to go. Sparkles tripped out of the gate, but stayed smart to get to 424 for the Stills, giving them a total of 1167. Niki came through with 728 for the Sharks, giving them a winning total of 1338. Eastside's impressive comeback gets them to 11-8, while cooling Todavía to 11-12.
Chevrolet Field, Everton: After an entertaining slugfest a few weeks ago, the Knights look to avenge a loss and prevent the Eagles from sweeping the season series. Kiwi churned out 862 for Terrace City, setting up another potentially entertaining game. Goldy didn't approach that mark, hauling in 296 for Everton. The Knights continue to prove vengeful, as Jennifer strikes 642 to extend the lead to a large margin. Puff III slugged 1284 for the Eagles, giving them a slight lead halfway through the game, bringing the crowd to its feet. Oreo clubbed 272 for Terrace City, letting the visitors lose grip over the game. Cleo choked away the advantage for Everton, scoring a meager 81. Stripes aggressively collected 587 for the Knights, giving them 2363 for their final. Blizzard lined 712 for the Eagles, stealing the game by a thread as they ended with 2373 in a ten-point win. Everton just barely retains a perfect home record, now at 11-0 at home and 19-2 overall, while Terrace City slides to 12-10 on their four-game losing streak. These two teams have produced two of the most competitive games of the season so far.
Toyota Pitch, Freedom: Two good East Division teams meet for the first time this season to draw some battle lines. Twilight had an average 264 for Central, a modest start. Jasmine answered with 567 for Freedom, giving them the initial lead in a calmer game than the last one. Dustin flipped 703 for the Warriors, pulling them back into competitive form. Stinky maintained a lead for the Cascades with 479, but their lead is much more narrow than before. Noelle raked in just 96 for Central, squandering a chance to make a statement. Roxy didn't take advantage of her opportunity, tacking 176 onto the Freedom lead, which leaves things close late in the game. Gizmo forced a response, striking 471 to put the Warriors at a total of 1534. Nikolai had a messy turn, taking just 117 as the Cascades fell with 1339. Central escapes with a win over a division rival, improving to 15-8, while Freedom drops to 12-11, although their divisional record remains a strong 5-2.
Amazon Field, Golden: The 100th division game of the season is this one, as the Crowns look to snap out of their recent struggles. Frosty failed with 64 for Royal, likely setting them on the path of another rough game. Valencia kept her consistency high, poking 481 to give Golden the first lead. Jake grabbed 200 for the Crowns, failing to cover the deficit. Dusty broke out of a personal slump by pummeling 1206 for the Pilots, likely securing the win halfway through the game. Marsell scored 265 for Royal, who are playing out the string in this one. Strut shrugged off 522 for Golden, keeping their lead out of reach of the visitors. Nightfur had a pathetic 60 to end the Crowns' game at 589, a brutal loss. A. Charlton iced the Pilots win with 631 herself for a total of 2840 in a huge victory. Golden takes the division win to go to 14-8, while Royal's woes send them to 6-14 on an eight-game losing streak.
That's it for part one this week. We'll see where the next two sections end up.

UPCL Cricket: Week 10 Part 3
The tenth week will close in this post, which gets its first game in...
Microsoft Pitch at Del Sur: The Monarchs get their second game of a doubleheader against their Coastal region rivals, the Waves, who are a force to be reckoned with on the road. Snuggle fired 504 for Oceanside to begin with, as they look to complete a sweep they set in motion with a win in their home opener. A flagging Southern team saw their captain Panda hit only 130 in response. Bells' awkward flip marred a promising effort, as she ended with 211 for the Waves. Shannon pulled the Monarchs back a bit with 482, making it a close game at the halfway point. Alyssa supplied Oceanside with 416 to re-up their lead. Kirstin kept Southern somewhat in range with 391, setting up an interesting ending. Pounce lifted 619 to give the Waves a lofty final of 1750. Nicole couldn't muster enough in her 160 for the Monarchs, leaving them short at 1163. Oceanside continues to be absurdly good on the road, with a 5-1 road record but a 7-9 overall record at the quarter pole, while Southern is 8-17 in another down year, having lost six straight at home.
GE Stadium, Southridge: After a disastrous road trip, the Defenders face a struggling Shores team back in their home confines. Bear had a middling start with 260 for Whitewater. Boots countered with 393 for Southridge, giving them an unfamiliar feeling of being in the lead. Twinkie III shot back with 692 for the Shores in a confident appearance. Debby hauled in 479 for the Defenders, as they slip behind at the halfway mark. Cheddar got back into form with 506 for Whitewater, extending their lead. J. Garcia's 84 for Southridge felt like a gut-punch for the hosts as the game gets away from them once again. Wild Thing clubbed a massive 973 for the Shores, icing their game at 2431 in what's expected to be a win. A deflection ended Shaggy's turn at 175 for the Defenders, giving them a losing total of 1131. Whitewater snapped a five-game losing streak of the road to get to 9-14 on the divisional win, while Southridge has lost four straight at home and six straight overall in going to 6-18.
Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: Another Division game takes us into the west again for a battle between two of the elite teams this year, meeting for the first time. Watermelon produced 346 to get Pearl off to a reasonable start. Snowball hit a solid 379 to edge Swordpoint in front by a narrow margin early on. Neopolitan mishit a ball and ended up with only 247 for the Surfers, leaving them in a vulnerable position. Dreamy gave a little more heft to the Blades lead, chipping 329 to add a little protection. Wings failed to cover the deficit, taking just 98 for Pearl as they fall into serious danger. Shawn failed to take advantage, hitting a measly 57 for Swordpoint to make the game closer as the last players take their turns. Cowzart's 146 for the Surfers left them at a low total of 837, but forced a minor response. Stealth confidently struck 387 to bring the Blades a win with 1152. Swordpoint improves to 16-5, taking over second in the league from the now 14-5 Pearl side. Additionally, the Blades are 6-0 in the division while ending Pearl's perfect division run, as well as the Surfers snapping a five-game road winning streak.
Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: More highly-ranked teams tangle in this battle. Starlight maintained a remarkable run of road form by slashing her way to 609 for Pacific. Kiwi had the poorest luck in her turn, having multiple bad bounces cost her points as she scored just 14 for Terrace City. Ms. Kitty blasted 742 for the Volcanoes as they continue to be a top-heavy offense. Jennifer put up 176 for the Knights in a feeble appearance. Jack poked a calm 202 as Pacific cruises to the finish in this game. Oreo brought Terrace City a bit of respectability with her 328, denting the lead slightly. Leonette capped the Volcanoes score with 584 personally for a total of 2137 in what's expected to be a win. Her close friend Stripes managed just 149 as the Knights took another loss on 667 total points. Pacific has won four straight on the road and stands at 13-8, jumping ahead of the now 12-9 Terrace City, who have a five-game home losing streak of their own.
Apple Park, Todavía: The Surfers continue a trip in the south, battling another division rival out by the coast. Watermelon lined 538 to begin for Pearl, giving them a stable start. Leonardo didn't do well for Todavía, taking 152 in a poor showing. Cowzart got called out for three contacts as his turn ended, scoring a pathetic 16 for the Surfers, who lost with 1039. The Surfers faithful, as well as the team, were disgruntled with the result. Sparkles tallied 450 to end the Stills' victory with 1794. Todavía takes a bold but controversial win to get to 10-11, while Pearl appears to be slumping as they drop to 14-6.
Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The run of good teams continues with two high-potential sides. Bear continued to flounder a bit for Whitewater, hauling in only 192. Princess put together a quick 409 for Tysini with her high-pace turn. Twinkie III slipped up as she lacked rhythm, managing to score only 20 points for the Shores in a sloppy turn. Leandra flipped 1095 in a wonderful effort, giving the Hummingbirds a large lead halfway through the game. Cheddar answered with 417 in an effort to get Whitewater back into the game. Charli shrugged off 296 to maintain the lead for Tysini, as they appear set to take the game. Wild Thing made a furious rally for the Shores, but his 640 put them at 1269, and they still lost despite the strong comeback attempt. Bright iced it with 96 for a Hummingbirds final of 1896 in their win. Tysini continues to hover near the top, going to 13-7 while bumping Whitewater to 9-15.
Sprint Pitch, Victoria: Both teams could use this game to spark themselves going forward in the season. Crystal opened with 495 for Queens in her best road effort of the year so far. Spice shot back with 335 for Victoria, putting them a bit behind early on. Kayla added 490 for the Flames, solidifying their lead effectively with a bold performance. B. Chapman hesitated and then overcompensated on a backhand attempt for the Spurs, producing just 94 points as the deficit grows. Max kept the Queens offense in form, batting 551 to extend the lead again. Yekaterina lacked a rhythm for her turn, submitting 200 for Victoria as the game appears to be out of reach for the hosts. Paige took advantage of an optional replay, slamming her way to 540 for the Flames, giving them a final of 2076. Kavan put up just 162 for the Spurs, and they lost with a poor score of 791. Queens snapped a five-game road losing streak to get to 5-14, also snapping a seven-game losing streak overall. Victoria drops to 7-14 with the defeat.
Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: This battle between fierce Coastal rivals is ready to write a new chapter, now with twin sisters opposing each other for the first time. Snuggle set a high-offense tone for Oceanside, blasting 736 to begin the game. Mr. Snowman got shut down at 36 after an odd trajectory caused him to double-hit a ball, putting Viewpoint Sound in a bad spot early in the game. Bells added 320 for the Waves in a reasonable effort to maintain the lead. Mams covered that attack with 355 for the Meteors, holding the deficit steady. The first of the sisters, Oceanside's Alyssa, pounded 361 to keep the visitors on their current pace. Zach tightened the game dramatically with 912 for Viewpoint Sound, making the ending much more interesting. Pounce lined 552 for the Waves, producing their final score of 1969. Kelly's 510 was good but not enough for the Meteors, as they lost to her sister's team with 1813. Oceanside gets the boost to 8-9, having won four straight on the road, while Viewpoint Sound slots in behind them at 7-10.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: The Spiders host their Halloween game against the black-wearing Union as Web City celebrates its favorite time of year. Juno started with 339 for Modernistic in a respectable performance. Shadow ripped a confident 654 for Web City to give them a decent lead, adding another solid showing to dispel doubts about his ability. Ms. Puppy fired back in a big way for the Union, drilling 671 to regain at least a temporary lead. Rainmane's 337 left the Spiders just slightly behind at the halfway mark, but it's definitely anyone's game at this time. Chimpy picked a bad time to turn up small, taking in only 28 for Modernistic to leave their lead in grave danger. Sugar hauled in 401 for Web City, giving them the late lead. Puff I didn't have proper timing, taking in 135 for the Union, which gave them a losing total of 1173. Shiny pummeled a completely unnecessary 989 for the Spiders, sending the home crowd into a frenzy as they finished at 2381 in the win. Web City's resurgence continues into the Halloween weekend, standing at 7-9 with a five-game winning streak and a four-game home winning streak. Modernistic's inconsistency saw them fall to 8-11.
BMW RockDome, Westside: The Center Division claims the spotlight for this game. Patches clubbed a quick 451 to give Boston a strong opening salvo. Misty chopped 346 for Westside, only ending after her pace was interrupted with an odd bounce. Puff II fired back with a fairly normal 385 for the Swifts, compared to her recent onslaughts of offense. Goatee gave the Rockers a narrow lead at the halfway mark after striking 529 in a good showing. Gradley had a middling 245 for Boston on his turn, giving them a shaky lead. Midnight gave Westside a little bit more of a lead, paddling 320 to keep the visitors at bay. Sweetheart carved out 312 for the Swifts, and they end the game at 1393. Chicky Phil flubbed the game for the Rockers, scoring a meager 45 as they suffer a heartbreaking loss with 1240. Boston extends their road winning streak to eight games, with an overall record of 16-8, while Westside is now a paltry 5-12.
Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: The Gems look for a sweep of the Shores to fully vanquish the demons of 2014's embarrassing playoff exit. Smokey demolished 1153 for Diamond to start the game with, silencing the home crowd completely. Whitewater's captain Bear sputtered at the started and crashed with 128 to finish, setting them into a deep hole. Citrus tapped 64 for the Gems, allowing them to coast a bit early on. The opportunistic Twinkie III answered with 481 for the Shores, putting a dent in the deficit. Pedey stumbled with 24 for Diamond, and the visitors are getting anxious to see if another massive collapse is in store. Cheddar got jammed with 128 for Whitewater, but they still have momentum on their side. Cassandra got distracted and took only 208 for the Gems, giving them a final of 1449. Wild Thing mounted a furious rally with 550 for the Shores, but they lost with 1287. Diamond gets the season sweep, moving on up to 9-10, while Whitewater is 9-16.
That's it for an amazing tenth week of the season. Standings update to follow. Week 11 may begin over the weekend as we compress the schedule a bit.

UPCL Cricket: Week 10 Part 2
The middle segment is here, with the first game being...
Mercedes-Benz Field, Harrison: The Meteors play a return match after beating the Specters in Viewpoint Sound just last week. Mr. Snowman lifted a confident 503 for Viewpoint Sound to start the game. Slinks slipped with 112 for Harrison, putting them behind early. Mams provided a steady 420 for the Meteors, maintaining their lead effectively. Twinkie II pulled back with 312 for the Specters, but the hosts remain far behind. Zach allowed Viewpoint Sound to downshift, scoring 256 while keeping them in the lead. Sydney cut into the deficit with 560 for Harrison, making the game close with a player each to go. Kelly took a weak 141 to put the Meteors at a final of 1320. Brownie collapsed with 195 for the Specters, giving them only 1179 in the loss. Viewpoint Sound takes a season sweep on the Specters, improving to 7-9 on a three-game winning streak, while Harrison is down to 11-12 with the tough loss.
Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: The Defenders get another chance to get on track against the team at the cellar of the standings. Boots bounced 302 for Southridge in an acceptable starting effort. Smudge sent a burst of 883 points for Infinity to give them the initial lead in a critical game for the floundering team. Debby failed to cover the deficit, but she produced a respectable 431 for the Defenders. Shelley floundered with 75 for the Torpedoes, making their lead vulnerable. J. Garcia inched Southridge slightly ahead with her 243. Gabe kept things steady for Infinity, poking 223 to keep it a little bit close heading into the final players. Shaggy took in 290 for the Defenders, and they forced a response by finishing with 1266. Whiskers iced the Torpedoes win with 328 for a final of 1509. Infinity tries once again to spark themselves to success, now at 4-15, while Southridge's woes continue to 6-16 on a four-game losing streak.
Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: The Sharks travel across the south to meet a similarly-talented Prestige side for the first time this season. Graham had a significant dip in production, taking just 112 for Eastside. Acorn battered 619 for Lighton to establish a sizable lead early in the game. Chelsea's timing was a little bit off, and she scored 184 for the now-endangered Sharks. Spirit launched 1289 for the Prestige, likely securing the lead for this game. Taylor answered with 360 as Eastside watches the game get away from them. Twinkie I tapped 192 for Lighton after receiving and using an optional replay. Niki had just 73 for the Sharks, and they lost with 729 in a complete offensive failure. Lydia somewhat successfully navigated weird bounces to score 213 for the Prestige, capping their win at 2313. Lighton jumps to 11-9 while ceasing the four-game road winning streak Eastside had going, moving them to 10-8.
UPS Ground, Maplewood: The Defenders are into the northeast on their travels, with their fourth straight road game in a trip that's lacked any sort of success for them. Boots couldn't handle the pressure, taking a meager 122 for Southridge. Fluffina popped a quick 314 to give Maplewood a serviceable lead. Debby unleashed 671 to get the Defenders out of their recent rut, or at least she hopes it will serve that purpose. Bryant blew that notion away with 1075 for the Lumberjacks, restoring a lead for the hosts. J. Garcia managed only 202 for Southridge, exhausted at how they've given up big points all throughout this road trip. Diddley got out of rhythm in taking a pathetic 21 for the in-charge Maplewood side. Shaggy batted 607 for the Defenders, and they ended with 1602, forcing a response. Cubby did enough for the Lumberjacks in tacking on 245, giving the hosts a final score of 1655 in a surprisingly narrow win. Maplewood goes to 8-6, while Southridge just had hope squashed as they fall to 6-17.
Google Pitch at Union Ground, Modernistic: The Lumberjacks return to action with a short trip west for their first meeting with the Union, with the next coming two weeks from now. Fluffina staked out 353 for Maplewood, a respectable beginning to the game. Juno replied with 450 for Modernistic, giving them a slight edge. Bryant went for 312 for the Lumberjacks, making a shaky lead again for them. Ms. Puppy sent the Union farther ahead, ripping 510 to add onto the lead. Diddley's poor play traveled with him, as he had a measly 33 for Maplewood this time, likely costing them the game. Chimpy kept the numbers round and high for Modernistic, slicing 420 to pad the lead once more. Cubby's 385 was insufficient for the Lumberjacks, as they lost with 1083 in a hard-fought game. Puff I iced the Union win with 144, giving them a final of 1524. Modernistic improves to 8-10 while dragging Maplewood to 8-7.
AT&T Oceanside Stadium, Oceanside: The West Division gets a battle between teams hovering unusually close to the middle for their respective reputations. Starlight brought energy for Pacific, swatting 474 in an admirable opener. Snuggle remains relatively consistent for Oceanside, scoring 320 to keep things reasonable. Ms. Kitty pummeled another 470 for the Volcanoes as their lead remains firm and intact. Bells had a bounce back effort personally, but her 345 did not get the Waves any closer. Jack had a tough run when his wicket went onto the pitch, but he still managed 231 for Pacific under the extenuating circumstances. Alyssa suffered regression by hitting just 176 for Oceanside, potentially undoing their efforts. Leonette knocked 575 for the Volcanoes, and they finish at 1750, holding remarkably steady over their last four road games. Pounce also had 176 for the Waves, but they took the loss with 1017. Pacific gets a big win to start their doubleheader, going to 11-8, while Oceanside is 6-9, having lost five straight home games.
Verizon Field, Pacific: The Volcanoes get their second game of a doubleheader against a similarly busy Lumberjacks team. Fluffina had a modest start with only 104 for Maplewood, getting things going slowly. Starlight dealt with a rough start, turning out with 871 for Pacific to give the hosts a significant lead. Bryant got tricked to go for the high ball, and then a quick one came low to end his contributions at 388 for the Lumberjacks. Ms. Kitty didn't recover it all, taking 217 for the Volcanoes as they continue to lead. Diddley shook out another 478 for Maplewood, getting them much closer as the game approaches the late stages. Jack let Pacific's lead slip again, as he managed only 162. Cubby didn't have what it takes for the Lumberjacks, poking 36 to give them the loss with 1006. Leonette tallied 402 to ice the Volcanoes win at 1652, a convincing effort to snap a three-game home losing streak. Pacific's win sees them to 12-8, while Maplewood crosses the quarter mark at 8-8.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Staying on the coast, the Surfers welcome a Specters team garnering mixed results on a busy road schedule. Slinks chipped just 160 for Harrison, a vulnerable starting position. Watermelon pummeled 883 to give Pearl a fairly comfortable first lead. Twinkie II brought heat in response for the Specters, batting 594 in an impressive showing. Neopolitan countered with 608 to build up the Surfers lead ever so slightly as the game hits half-completion. Sydney got tangled on her second ball, but struck another one before sending it into the stumps. This caused her to put up just 16 for Harrison in an embarrassing turn. Wings clobbered 745 for Pearl to pad the lead, which is likely unreachable at this point. Brownie scraped together 168 for the Specters, and they suffered a loss with 938 total. Cowzart played well, hitting an unnecessary 811 to give the Surfers a final of 3047 in the win. Pearl remains a top-tier offense, sitting at 14-4, which has them second in the league, while Harrison drops to 11-13 during a rough stretch for the talented but inconsistent Northeastern squad.
Tridents Park sponsored by Ford, Pronger: The Specters head across the map on a long trip for a doubleheader against a division rival in the Tridents, who have yet to beat an East Division team. A tired Slinks put up only 96 for Harrison in a weak showing. Strawberry answered with 313 for Pronger, giving them a modest lead. Twinkie II showed a little too much zeal, ending up with 64 for the Specters after lifting the last ball far too high. Hoot also took in just 64 for the Tridents, keeping the advantage level at the halfway point. Sydney lent some respectability to Harrison, striking 376 to give them at least a temporary lead. Precious lined 297 to give Pronger a minor lead heading into the final players. Brownie didn't give the Specters a great lead, hitting 193 to put them at 729, but they require a response from their hosts, which could mean anything in this low-scoring game. Paps left no doubt, knocking 594 to give the Tridents 1268 in an imposing win. Pronger's first division win continues their recent surge to 7-10, while Harrison slumps to 11-14 on a four-game losing streak.
Ebay Center, Queens: The Stills haven't won at home since beating the Flames, and they look to keep their hosts reeling as they aim for the season sweep. Easter crushed a big 867 for Todavía to start things off on the right foot for the visitors. Crystal jammed a ball, which ended up costing her as she scored only 162 for Queens. Sierra faced a high threat from an advanced wicket, ending her turn at 90 for the Stills. Kayla had a meager 50 for the offense-averse Flames. Leonardo kept the offense in the doldrums, taking only 64 for Todavía. Max made it a much closer game by tallying 700 for Queens, putting some pressure into the final players' turns. Sparkles had a responsible 552 for the Stills, bringing their total score to 1573. Paige tried to rally back, but her 414 left the Flames short at 1326. Todavía gets going in the right direction again, now standing at 9-11, while Queens is 4-14 on a seven-game losing streak, and a four-game home losing streak.
Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: The previous matchup featured a Southeastern and Southwestern team, and this match features those teams' biggest rivals pitted against each other. Panda sliced 359 in a respectable start for Southern. Frosty gave Royal a very tiny lead, posting 368 in her turn for a tight start to the game. Shannon cranked out 424 in response, giving the Monarchs a similar lead as before. Jake impressed with one fluid motion deflecting a ball to the back 4s and another to the front 4s, but he neglected the incoming ball, ending with 379 for the Crowns, which puts them slightly behind halfway through the game. Kirstin tacked on 384 for Southern in a game where scoring has been remarkable steady. Marsell let that standard slip, producing just 160 for Royal as they face a steeper deficit. Nicole surged to 551 for the Monarchs, giving them a final score of 1718, with a decent chance of taking the win. The Crowns got just 21 from Nightfur, taking the loss with 928 in a quick collapse. Southern helps the coastal Southwest teams complete the double on the inner Southeast teams, improving to 8-16, while Royal steps down to 6-12. As an aside, the Southeastern trio of the Defenders, Crowns, and Flames have losing streaks of five, six and seven games, respectively, at this time, making their Urban Core South one of the coldest regions in the league.
That's all for part 2. Part 3 is likely to hit the blog no later than Thursday.
