Another full day is scheduled here, beginning with...
Kraft Forum, Royal: Nightfur v. Stealth. The red cue opens the day with a 10-ball series. Game 1 started a little slow, but picked up at the end. Swordpoint's Stealth had a three-ball run end with his miss on the 8, and Royal's Nightfur swooped in to win with a three-ball run-out for the 1-0 series lead. The Crowns' Nightfur picked off a four-ball run early in game 2, but it was the Blades' Stealth winning with a three-ball run-out this time. Stealth banked the 10 to the top left for the decisive shot that tied the series at 1. Stealth opened with a five-ball run early in game 3, and added a pair later when Nightfur missed contact on the 9. Stealth won the series 2-1 and he'll face Cheddar of the North Modernistic Nighthawks in the bracket quarterfinals.
Cisco Arena, Tysini: Vincent v. Nikolai. In the Southwest, the silver cue plays Accuracy. Tysini's Vincent had a scratch and missed the last ball, which was all Freedom's Nikolai needed in his 1-2 win. Nikolai had a late scratch but recovered well enough to earn the 1-0 series lead. The Hummingbirds' Vincent had a double-pot in game 2 to earn the last-shot advantage, but the Cascades' Nikolai negated it with a three-ball break in overtime. Vincent failed on his overtime shot, and Nikolai won 2-3 to seal the series at 2-0. Nikolai had a chance to win in regulation but scratched near the end of game 3. Vincent's overtime break was empty, and Nikolai made a shot to win 2-3 again to sweep the series 3-0. Nikolai will visit Fluffina of the Infinity Torpedoes in the bracket quarterfinals.
Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Twinkie I v. Missy. Reality club-mates meet in 9-ball with the blue cue. Capital City's Missy struck for a three-ball run-out in game 1 after a lack of offense allowed Pacific's Twinkie I to dictate the early pace. Missy leads the series 1-0. The Sharpshooters' Missy again came up with a three-ball run-out in game 2, after a mixed start saw a little more offense for the Volcanoes' Twinkie I. Missy's win this time clinched the series in her favor at 2-0. Missy played her best in game 3 with an eight-ball run and narrowly missed the 9 at the bottom right, where Twinkie I tapped it in for a cheap win. Missy advanced on a 2-1 series win, and she'll visit Gal of the North Modernistic Nighthawks in the bracket quarterfinals.
Starbucks Arena, Archtown: A. Charlton v. Puff I. The blue cue stays in action for this 13-ball series. Modernistic's Puff I pulled off a five-ball run to counter early offense from Archtown's A. Charlton in game 1. Puff I then used positioning for the win to take a 1-0 series lead. The Union's Puff I made a mess of game 2, taking too long to attack. The Arrows' Charlton contributed a bit with solid defense, and then cashed in for the win after Puff I's scratch. Charlton tied the series at 1 with this win. Charlton had a fairly easy path to victory in game 3, making a nice run early on and adding a three-ball run-out at the end for the 2-1 series win over Puff I. Charlton is set to host the Golden Pilots captain Valencia in the bracket quarterfinals.
IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Gal v. Frosty. More 13-ball is on the way, this time with the red cue. North Modernistic's Gal had a three-ball run early in game 1 and took her last ball out of position. While she was trying to recover, Viewpoint Sound's Frosty caught up and ultimately took the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Meteors' Frosty had a dream break in game 2, making two balls and earning great positioning for what was left. She didn't execute perfectly, but a four-ball run got her onto the 8, and the Nighthawks' Gal was too slow to catch Frosty, who sealed the series at 2-0. Frosty had another good break in game 3, but she wasn't able to make anything of it at the end. Gal was too quick in attack, earning the win to avoid the sweep. Frosty's 2-1 series win puts her into the bracket quarterfinals on the road against the Lighton Prestige's Nicole.
HP Field Events Center, Midland: Fuchsia v. Kiwi. The silver cue cycles in for 9-ball. Midland's Fuchsia never let Terrace City's Kiwi to the table in game 1. Fuchsia made a pair on the break and ran the table from there in an impressive showing to go ahead 1-0 in the series. The Predators' Fuchsia made a ball on the game 2 break and scratched on the next shot. The Knights' Kiwi pushed with a six-ball run, but her 8-9 combination attempt at the bottom right was cut too thin to fall. Fuchsia converted a combination of her own for the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Fuchsia had most of the offense again in game 3, but this time, it was Kiwi striking late for the win. Fuchsia settled for a 2-1 series win that allows her to host Southeastern rival Ice Cream of the Boston Swifts in the bracket quarterfinals.
Starbucks Arena, Archtown: A. Charlton v. Hoppy. Archtown Arrows teammates clash in Rotation with the silver cue. Charlton struck on the break in game 1 and didn't really slow down after that, as Hoppy lacked the positioning to mount a sustained attack. Charlton won 8-2 to earn the 1-0 series lead initially. Charlton saw most of her offense come early in game 2. She then had to weather a comeback effort from Hoppy, which fell comfortably short. Charlton went on to win 8-5 to secure the series at 2-0. Hoppy had the lead at first in game 3, but she lost her touch as the game went on. Charlton gladly capitalized with a four-ball run to pull ahead. Charlton would win 8-5 to sweep the series 3-0, and she'll host the Queens Flames' Violetta in the bracket quarterfinals.
Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Cowzart v. Sparkles. Another Rotation series uses the silver cue. A tense start to game 1 eventually gave way to Golden's Sparkles grabbing control. Sparkles would win 8-4 over Pacific's Cowzart, good for a 1-0 series lead to the visitor. A back-and-forth battle ensued in game 2, with the Pilots' Sparkles starting well at first before dropping back enough for the Volcanoes' Cowzart to surge ahead. At the end, Cowzart won 8-5 to tie the series at 1 game apiece. Cowzart again trailed halfway through game 3, but he pulled it back with a five-ball run-out after Sparkles failed to extend her lead. Cowzart's 8-5 win this time gave him a 2-1 series win, which sends him to Todavía in the bracket quarterfinals to face the Stills' Prism. Cowzart's first kill of the year made Sparkles the 41st eliminated player this year.
Google Hall, Modernistic: Daisy v. Shawn. The red cue is back for this 8-ball set. Modernistic's Daisy had all the early attack in game 1, but Midland's Shawn held her back with his defense. Shawn bought himself enough time to slowly build a rally that ended with him leading the series 1-0. The Union's Daisy again had offense in game 2, but her four-ball run ended with the 8 going down illegally to gift the win away to the Predators' Shawn. Daisy's misplay secured the series in Shawn's favor at 2-0. Shawn had a decent attack in game 3, but Daisy was able to provide a clean and timely finish this time, using Shawn's last ball as scratch defense. Shawn took the series 2-1, and he'll be the visitor in his bracket quarterfinals series. Shawn took the league lead in kills at three by knocking Daisy out, the 42nd player to fall.
Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Max v. Lorde. In 13-ball, the silver cue gets another look. Golden's Max had an efficient attack early in game 1, but Capital City's Lorde worked a three-ball run to stay in it. She then outplayed him at the end of the game to get the win, putting Lorde up 1-0 in the series. The players exchanged blunders in game 2, with the Pilots' Max giving away a freebie to the Sharpshooters' Lorde. Lorde then scratched at one point, and Max appeared set to win, but he couldn't convert his last all, and Lorde won anyway to seal the series at 2-0. Lorde didn't have a great start in game 3, but Max lacked the positioning to capitalize. At the end, Lorde won again with a three-ball run-out, and she swept the series 3-0 to punch her ticket to the bracket quarterfinals.
Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Solaris v. Bryant. An aggressive series of 15-ball with the silver cue awaits. Commerce's Solaris did a good job to keep up at first, but he scratched late and Maplewood's Bryant capitalized with a pair of shots for the win. Bryant owns a 1-0 series lead. The Lumberjacks' Bryant had a solid game 2 as well, but the Tradewinds' Solaris produced a moment of brilliance for the win, kicking the 11-15 combination to the top left. Solaris' stunning trick play tied the series at 1. Bryant took over late in game 3 after a balanced battle with Solaris. Bryant rallied with a five-ball run-out for the win and 2-1 series win, which puts him on the road in the bracket quarterfinals against Jack of the Northeastern rival Web City Spiders.
Apple Center, Todavía: Ruby v. Pounce. The Spanish Derby is renewed in 7-ball with the silver cue. Both players were a little shaky to start game 1, but Todavía's Ruby solved her problems faster than Southern's Pounce. Ruby struck for a pair at the end for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Stills' Ruby carried that momentum partially into game 2, but it ran out too soon. The Monarchs' Pounce landed his counterattack, a three-ball run-out for the win to tie the series at 1. Pounce did it again in game 3, waiting for Ruby to slip up before attacking with a three-ball run-out of his own. Pounce claimed the series at 2-1 and he'll visit Frosty of the Viewpoint Sound Meteors in the bracket quarterfinals. Ruby is the 43rd player to fall from the competition, and Pounce's first kill.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Watermelon v. Mario. The red cue returns in 15-ball. Queens' Mario carried the offense at the end of game 1, making seven of the last nine balls to get the win and 1-0 series lead over Pearl's Watermelon. The Surfers' Watermelon had a chance to take game 2, but she rattled the 15 out of the bottom right. The Flames' Mario put it away at the top side, capping a strong effort with the win to seal the series at 2-0. In game 3, Watermelon seemed to turn a corner, but Mario blocked her out with a six-ball run-out at the end to get his win. Mario swept the series 3-0, and he'll visit Salmo of the Southern Monarchs in the bracket quarterfinals.
Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Twinkie II v. Snuggle. The silver cue draws in for 9-ball. A chippy game 1 saw the players go back and forth for a bit. Oceanside's Snuggle prevailed in the end, a pair of shots at the end enough to stake his 1-0 series lead over Harrison's Twinkie II. The Waves' Snuggle couldn't replicate the effort in game 2 despite holding his own on offense. The Specters' Twinkie II pushed forward with a four-ball run-out to nab this win, tying the series at 1 in the process. Twinkie II had a pair of three-ball runs in game 3, but a scratch as she tried to hit the 8 allowed Snuggle to take a pair of shots for the win. Snuggle won the series 2-1 as well, and he's set to renew the United Derby against the Queens Flames' Violetta in the bracket quarterfinals.
Ford Forum, Pronger: Spot v. Waluigi. The red cue's last series today comes in 7-ball. Both players had scratches in game 1, but Pronger's Spot saw his come later in the game. Web City's Waluigi capitalized from there, making a pair from ball-in-hand for the win and 1-0 series lead. Game 2 went much differently, with the Spiders' Waluigi getting one on the break and nothing else. The Tridents' Spot made a six-ball run-out on his second turn, taking the win and tying the series at 1 with the burst. Spot again controlled the offense in game 3, starting and ending with three-ball runs to dominate in the win and 2-1 series win over Waluigi. Spot will visit Princess of the Viewpoint Sound Meteors in the bracket quarterfinals. Spot got his first kill of the year as Waluigi is the 44th player to exit the competition.
Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Dusty v. Twinkie II. Reality club-mates end the day with a star-studded Accuracy series with the silver cue. Golden's Dusty did a hatchet job on game 1, falling apart after her first miss. Harrison's Twinkie II held steady for a 1-5 win this time, going ahead 1-0 in the series. The Pilots' Dusty did better in game 2, lasting longer and keeping it closer, but her late collapse this time allowed the Specters' Twinkie II to close out a 1-3 win to seal the series at 2-0. Twinkie II mailed it in for game 3, allowing Dusty to easily take the win 3-7 after a sloppy start on both sides. Twinkie II won the series 2-1, and she'll be home against another club-mate, the Eastside Sharks' Gizmo, in the bracket quarterfinals.
The goal is to play the last day and a half of round three over the next three days. How that gets divided is up to interpretation currently.
