Sprint Pitch, Victoria: The Spurs begin a doubleheader by hosting the Nighthawks to lead off this segment. Peach slugged 1688 for North Modernistic at the start, with the epic performance likely already tilting the game in favor of the visitors. Spice suffered a difficult bounce that carried over her outstretched backhand, ending up going out of bounds to give Victoria only 257 to start with. Luigi also went big for the Nighthawks, crushing 1393 on his turn to practically guarantee a win already. Yekaterina had a reasonable but not very helpful 330 for the Spurs, as they continue to suffer a pummeling. Cheddar put herself at the head of the North Modernistic attack with her turn, blasting another 1767 to put the visitors in a rare class of performance. B. Chapman offered little resistance for Victoria, taking only 208 as they find themselves on the wrong end of history. Bright couldn't make history for the Nighthawks, with his 440 setting them at 5288, just 24 points shot of the all-time single-game team record, with the fifth-ever 5K game, and the twelfth-ever 4K performance. WArio had 451 to bring the Spurs to their losing mark of 1246. The best win of the year so far belongs to North Modernistic, who go to 13-8, while Victoria drops to 8-11 after the thorough beating.
Sprint Pitch, Victoria: After a traumatizing game, the Spurs are back in action against the much less potent Union. Ms. Puppy looked to be prepping for a dangerous run, but ended up with 357 for Modernistic, a manageable score for both sides. Spice tried a double-hit for Victoria, but it went badly, and she ended with a meager 48 to start the scoring for the reeling hosts. Daisy sliced 608 for the Union in a good turn, extending their lead nicely to keep the hosts pinned. Yekaterina's turn ended on a tough deflection, producing only 227 for the Spurs, who trail significantly at the halfway mark. Puff I scooped another 436 for Modernistic, giving a little more bulk to their lead. B. Chapman grabbed a decent 367 for Victoria, allowing the deficit to grow a little bit more before the final players come to bat. Strawberry provided 219 for the Union in the end, giving them a final score of 1620. Wario hit 311 for the Spurs, leaving them far short of the mark at 953 in their second loss to an Urban Division team. Modernistic is now 4-9, while Victoria slides to 8-12.
HP Field, Midland: The Southeast Division gets the spotlight here, as the Defenders and Predators tangle in a critical match. The Predators are in the last of a four-game home stand, while the Defenders close a six-game road trip. Bianca got Southridge off to a good start with 544 on her turn, establishing a solid lead. Shawn kept Midland in range with 407 on his turn, but they will be starting from behind. Debby stepped up well for the Defenders, churning out 551 to pad their lead nicely. The Predators fell off the pace at the midway mark, as Rainmane scored only 144 to hurt their offense. Stephanie fought off challenging offerings to give Southridge a good performance with 447, adding a little more to the lead. Leonardo had 301 for Midland, but they have lost more ground and have a severe risk of losing. Hughbert didn't have the greatest outing, with 272 for the Defenders, icing their score at 1814. Fuchsia played well with 495 for the Predators, but this left them at 1347 in the loss, unable to equalize this late in the game. Southridge improves to 12-11 on the year, while Midland falls to the same 12-11 record.
Google Pitch at Union Ground, Modernistic: The Union look to build off the recent win as they start a four-game home stand, facing a Monarchs team setting out on their five-game road trip. Panda tapped 447 for Southern at the start, giving them a solid base to build on. Ms. Puppy got caught out of position for Modernistic, her bat too advanced to block a ball that skipped right over the handle and ended her turn at 196. Hoppy left the door open with only 257 for the Monarchs, a far from confident lead for the visitors. Daisy tightened the deficit very well for the Union, smacking 492 to bring quite close at the halfway point. Pounce was livid with the pitch conditions for his turn, which caused him to end on 96 for Southern, leaving them in danger. Puff I flicked 399 to carry Modernistic ahead in the game on her second try, the first washed out by a technical error. Shannon also took an abrupt ending for the Monarchs with her 39, leaving them at 839 in the loss. Strawberry picked up 368 for the Union, icing their win at 1455. Modernistic is now 5-9, while Southern goes to 6-13.
IBM Nighthawks Nest, North Modernistic: The Sharks look to keep their road success going against a battle-hardened Nighthawks side. Chelsea had no luck on her side for Eastside, falling at 25 to open the scoring very poorly for the visitors. Peach had only 81 in response for North Modernistic, giving them a narrow lead at the start in a low-scoring opening. Taylor got the Sharks on track with 721 on her turn, establishing a large lead for them. Luigi couldn't make an impact for the Nighthawks, picking up 152 as they remain in a deep deficit. Niki slipped up with 106 for Eastside, leaving their lead a bit more vulnerable. Cheddar put North Modernistic ahead with 643 on her turn, creating a narrow lead as the final players come to bat. Paps stumbled with 128 for the Sharks, giving them a final of 980. Bright fell at 39 for the Nighthawks, and they blew the game, losing with 915. Eastside improves to 6-13, while North Modernistic slides to 13-9 in a game neither team can feel all that good about.
Verizon Field, Pacific: The Volcanoes are back at home for a game, hosting the Wolves in their sixth of a seven-game road trip. Juno led off with 519 for Stonebridge, an effective mark for the captain to begin the game with. Starlight put Pacific a hair in front with her 524, battling through a plethora of early deflections to create the tiny lead. Frosty kept a high pressure for the Wolves, cranking out a crisp 512 to restore a similar lead. Ms. Kitty slipped up at 80 for the Volcanoes, putting them in a deep deficit at the halfway mark. Cobalt poked another 599 for Stonebridge on his turn, boosting their lead very well. Leonette had a modest 320 for Pacific, causing the game to slip further away as the deficit grows late in the game. Prism chipped 202 for the Wolves on her poor ending turn, giving them 1832 total, a strong mark for the visitors. Chicky Phil was unwilling to allow the Volcanoes to lose, pummeling 1013 to give them 1937 in a comeback win. Pacific jumps to 16-8 with the surprising victory, while Stonebridge is 10-13.
Mercedes-Benz Field, Harrison: Some team will emerge with a division win, as these Northeastern rivals clash in a battle of bottom-dwellers. Sally's recent struggles with consistency emerge again as she takes 193 to open the scoring for Archtown in poor form. Sydney was a bit better for Harrison, providing 359 for the hosts to take the early lead on. Sleepy B. turned things around big-time for the Arrows, unleashing 992 to give them a large lead out of nowhere. Twinkie II kept things close with 627 for the Specters, not enough to cover the deficit halfway through the game but enough to make it interesting. Ruby stumbled with 206 for Archtown, leaving them vulnerable to a counterattack once again. Lexi took advantage of the opportunity for Harrison, churning out 607 to give the hosts a late lead. Dusky covered the deficit with 425 for the Arrows, putting them at 1816 overall in a decent game. Sugar failed to better that, ending on 160 to give the Specters 1753 in yet another loss. Archtown improves to 9-16, while Harrison is now 3-16.
Google Pitch at Union Ground, Modernistic: The Union play their second of a four-game home stand against the Stills, who are in the fourth of six straight on the road. Easter led off with 721 for Todavía, a fantastic mark to set the tone of the game with. Ms. Puppy had a decent response for Modernistic, grabbing 388 to cut the deficit in about half. Sierra padded the Stills lead nicely on her turn, gathering another 599 to give the visitors a very comfortable position. Daisy undid most of Sierra's work, answering with 578 for the Union to keep the deficit steady at the halfway mark. Sparkles didn't have the best of turns for Todavía, ending on 245 as the lead destabilizes a bit. Puff I capitalized on the chance, charging Modernistic to a small lead with her 626-point performance. Bells responded with 355 for the Stills, producing their final score of 1920, which will force a response from the hosts. Strawberry buried the opposition with 554 for the Union, giving them a winning total of 2146. Modernistic soars to 6-9, while Todavía is down to 12-14.
Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: The Prestige will play in three consecutive games, beginning here against the Sharpshooters in the last game of a six-game road trip. Chris suffered an unlucky deflection for Capital City too early in his turn, giving them only 138 to start win. Acorn seemed relentless in attack for Lighton, bashing his way to 615 to give the hosts a supple lead at the start of the game. Missy answered very effectively for the Sharpshooters, lining 714 to cover the deficit on her turn. Spirit couldn't keep up for the Prestige, hitting a weak 152 as they've fallen behind at the halfway mark. Sprinkles didn't set Capital City apart at all, leaving them vulnerable after her poor 146-point turn. Twinkie I picked up Lighton well, striking 593 to give them a late lead with a player each to go. Nicole had a measly 82 for the Sharpshooters, leaving them in a loss with 1080. Salmo didn't play great with 177 for the Prestige, but they won with 1537. Lighton moves to 7-9, while Capital City takes a knock back to 14-8.
Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The Prestige make a short trip to face their neighbors, the Hummingbirds, in another Southwest Division game for the middle frame of their tripleheader. Acorn had a mediocre outing this time, earning only 204 for Lighton at the start of the game. Princess looked much more like her old self for Tysini, crushing 1229 to give the hosts a massive early lead. Spirit dented the deficit a bit with 562 for the Prestige, trying to give the visitors some hope of a comeback. Leandra couldn't support for the Hummingbirds, bailing at 99 in a poor outing from the star. Twinkie I covered the deficit for Lighton, doing so with a strong 626 in an impressive rally from the visitors so far. Charli staved off the danger for Tysini for now, contributing 484 to restore a smaller lead for the hosts. Salmo again came up short, taking a measly 66 for the Prestige as they lose with 1458. Brownie iced the Hummingbirds win with 586 herself, putting them at 2398 in a big performance that could help get their season going better. Tysini is 5-11, while Lighton slides to 7-10.
Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: The Prestige switch jerseys again, completing the tripleheader against a strong Warriors side embarking on a three-game road trip. Twilight established Central pretty well with 558 to open the game. Acorn kept pace for Lighton, hitting 562 to poke the hosts just a tad ahead of their guests. Dustin's well-published road struggles persisted in this game, as he produced only 105 for the Warriors. Spirit answered with 529 for the Prestige, pulling them confidently ahead at the halfway mark of the game. Mario couldn't cover the deficit for Central, ending on a mediocre 192 for his turn. Twinkie I declined an optional replay chance, satisfied to tack on another 520 for Lighton as they lead with an iron fist late in the game. Gizmo was solid with 320 for the Warriors, but they took the loss with 1175 overall in a low-scoring effort for them. Salmo tapped 392 for the Prestige, icing their winning total at 2003. Lighton improves to 8-10 now, getting through the tripleheader well, while Central falls to 11-6.
Google Pitch at Union Ground, Modernistic: The Union close their successful week against a struggling Arrows side completing a three-game road trip. Sally garnered a few more points for Archtown after a technical error, but her 192 is still sub-par. Ms. Puppy showed a laser-focus for Modernistic, rallying with 941 to give them a large lead early on. Sleepy B. had a lousy turn for the Arrows, ending on 55 as they fall farther into the deficit. The Union continued to surge, as Daisy posted 558 on her turn to pad the lead at the halfway mark of the game. Ruby had a respectable 355 for Archtown, but it didn't do much to affect the deficit facing her team. Puff I kept up the Modernistic attack again, smacking 518 to likely put the game out of reach already. Dusky ended on a measly 20 points for the Arrows, leaving them at 622 in the brutal loss. Strawberry tacked on another 576 for the Union, finishing their scoring at 2593 overall in a huge win. Modernistic improves to 7-9, while Archtown is 9-17 in a disappointing year.
That's all for now. Week 11 should get going tomorrow, while the standings update and Players of the Week will be announced on Twitter
