With the Tournament currently on hold, all of the Premier action will be on Friday this week. We begin with...
Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: The Shores return home and sit their captain Bear, while Rainmane gets rest for the Predators as they end a six-game road trip. Shawn lacked pace at the start for Midland, but he persisted long enough to take 688 on the opening turn of the game. Twinkie III had a fairly strong turn, but suffered an exit at 585 as Whitewater is slightly behind at the start. Leonardo tried to pull off a double-backhand, but he was beat at 190 for the Predators. Marsell answered with 402 for the Shores, putting them ahead at the halfway mark. Americus had 532 in response for Midland, giving them the lead again. Katharine buckled at a weak 144 for Whitewater, leaving them in a precarious spot late in the game. Fuchsia had a measly 60 for the Predators, leaving them in a vulnerable position at 1470 total. Shaggy made a push for the Shores, but her 262 left them short at 1393 in the loss. Midland survives a rocky finish to get to 8-9, pushing Whitewater down to 5-10.
BMW RockDome, Westside: The Rockers face a tough task at home, resting Slinks against the second-place Pilots, who have Sparkles on the bench for this one. Valencia rocked 758 for Golden this time, giving them an emphatic start to the game. Misty couldn't come close to that, taking a poor 152 as Westside will start at a steep deficit. Dusty had a minor 289 for the Pilots to extend their lead a little bit on the second attack. Goatee just about matched that with 281 for the Rockers, unable to make inroads against the deficit halfway through the game. Strut tried to make a hit-and-drag play, but he pulled the ball back too far and fell with only 194 for Golden as the game's offenses goes quiet. Midnight made a bit of progress with 447 for Westside, but they have little time to make a big move in the game. A. Charlton fell apart on a cluttered pitch, with a pitiful 15 points for the Pilots to leave them at 1256 total. Cowzart completed the comeback with 544 for the Rockers, setting their score at 1424 in the win. Westside gets an unlikely win to go to 7-9, while Golden drops to 12-7 with the unfortunate loss.
Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: The Knights welcome Urban rivals in the Rockers, with Misty sitting for the visitors while Quincy is on the bench for the hosts. Goatee had a good start with 514 for Westside this time, setting them up well. Kiwi blasted 1423 in response for Terrace City, the potent attack setting the hosts far ahead initially. Slinks had an acceptable 335 for the Rockers, but they remain behind at this point. Jennifer misplayed a deflection, ending her turn at 122 for the Knights as their lead takes a hit at the halfway mark. Midnight made a push with 490 for Westside, shrinking the deficit again with a big turn. Oreo fired back with 687, including an impressive save early on, helping Terrace City's lead blossom again. Cowzart couldn't make another move for the Rockers, his 242 putting their losing total at 1581. Melissa tapped a simple 144 to ice the Knights' win at 2376. Terrace City rises to 6-10, just a half-game back of the 7-10 Westside team.
Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: The Blades sit their captain Snowball in this road game, while Shaggy gets a game off for the floundering Shores. Dreamy was doing well on the opening turn until a deflection plopped a ball right on her wicket to stall her at 148 for Swordpoint. Bear did alright with 333 for Whitewater, giving the hosts a small lead after the first turn. Bandit struggled with only 81 for the Blades this time, unable to cover the small deficit. Twinkie III took full advantage of that mistake, pummeling 720 for the Shores to extend their mid-game lead. Stealth flicked 439 for Swordpoint, a good turn individually but not enough for this situation. Marsell offset some of the damage with 319 for Whitewater. Jason N. had only 138 for the blades in this one, ending a disappointing effort at 806 in their worst loss of the year. Katharine struggled again with 207 for the Shores, but they took the win at 1579. Whitewater is up to 6-10, while Swordpoint drops to 9-7.
BMW RockDome, Westside: The Rockers are without Cowzart as they return home, while the Volcanoes give Leonette rest for this critical game. Starlight came out strong for Pacific, lining 684 on the first turn to establish their lead quickly. Misty lacked the fiery pace for Westside, but she put in a long effort and picked up 586 to keep things close. Ms. Kitty just about covered the damage with 551 for the Volcanoes, keeping the scoring high in the game. Goatee shot back with 790 for the Rockers, her huge rally giving the hosts the lead halfway through the game. Twinkie I shot back with 784 for Pacific, covering the deficit again with a good performance. Slinks slipped up at 98 for Westside, the disappointing turn ruining their game late. Chicky Phil tacked on another 567 for the Volcanoes at the end, icing their big game at 2586. Midnight couldn't answer, taking only 96 for the Rockers as they lost with 1570. Pacific outlasts their hosts, going to 7-5, while Westside drops to 7-11.
Chevrolet Field, Everton: The Eagles put Kirstin on the bench after a bad game last time out, while Katharine will get some time to sort through her struggles on the bench for the Shores. Bear's home struggles seeped over to the road this time, taking only 80 for Whitewater in a hasty turn. Goldy had 314 for Everton at the start, setting them ahead despite the lackluster appearance. Twinkie III gained 397 for the Shores, covering their slow start with a decent showing. Puff III bested her sister and kept the Eagles ahead with a nice 467 at the halfway point. Marsell couldn't get out on a break for Whitewater, ending at 309 as they slip a little farther down the scoring chart. Cleo had only 207 for Everton this time, muddying the waters a bit as to which team is in control. Shaggy fired off 951 for the Shores at the end, the epic rally putting them far ahead at a total of 1737. Blizzard tried to come back for the Eagles, but her 519 left them short at 1507. Whitewater takes a surprising win to get to 7-10, while bumping Everton to 5-9.
Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: The Blades return home for a game with the league-leading Swifts. Bandit sits for the hosts, while Puff II is on the bench for the visitors. Patches has had better opening turns, lacking pace as she picked up 435 for Boston in this one. Snowball shoved 131 for Swordpoint, getting the launch angle wrong on her last swing. Gradley answered with 832 for the Swifts this time, extending their lead greatly on the second attack. Dreamy picked up 82 for the Blades, who appear vastly outmatched halfway through this game. Sweetheart induced a technical error on her first try, and then smacked 543 the second time to boost Boston's lead again. Stealth suffered a deflection to end his turn at only 39 for Swordpoint, making things even worse for the hosts. Ice Cream had a poor 77 for the Swifts at the end, giving them a total of 1887 in what should stand for a win. Jason N. took an early swing and popped his last ball straight up to end at 180, giving the Blades a brutally low losing total of 432. Boston plows on to 14-1, while Swordpoint's worst week this year has them down to 9-8.
Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Warriors try to dig out of last against their Northeastern rivals, the Eagles. Twilight sits for the Warriors, while Cleo is on the bench for the Eagles. Goldy made such a task difficult with 661 for Everton at the start, a great opener from the legendary captain. Dustin couldn't get much for Central with 266, despite being fired up to face his former team. Puff III kept in step with her captain, padding the Eagles lead with 655 on her turn. Mario had 288 for the Warriors, unable to make much impact against the deficit at the midway mark. Kirstin tacked on 307 for Everton on her turn, the first sign of weakness for the visitors. Noelle couldn't make a comeback with 171 for the Warriors, leaving them at 1044 in another home loss. Everton is up to 6-9 now, while Central slips to 3-7.
Amazon Field, Golden: The Blades need to get back on track and will sit Dreamy in hopes of doing so, while the Pilots bench A. Charlton for this meeting. Snowball had 736 for Swordpoint on the opening turn, a good performance from the captain of the struggling team. Valencia answered with 761 for Golden on her turn, putting the hosts narrowly ahead this time. Bandit grabbed 412 for the Blades, regaining the lead for now with the effort. Dusty wasted her turn with only 42 for the Pilots, proving unable to take control again at the halfway mark. Stealth took 250 for Swordpoint on his turn, keeping them mildly ahead with the mediocre showing. Strut fired back with 968 for Golden, putting them back in control with a player each to go. Jason N. took 426 for the Blades, forcing the hosts to reply to their final score of 1824. It wasn't pretty, but Sparkles had 96 to get the Pilots ahead for the win at 1867. Golden is up to 13-7 on the year, while Swordpoint falls again to 9-9.
HP Field, Midland: The Predators return home for a five-game home stand, beginning against the Knights, who start a three-game road trip of their own. Jennifer and Fuchsia rest in this one. Kiwi couldn't deal with a high-arcing ball for Terrace City, falling at 164 on the first turn. Shawn countered with 328 in this one, doubling up his opponent to give Midland the early lead. Oreo countered with 472 for the Knights, pulling them ahead for now with the solid outing. Rainmane fell at 279 for the Predators, making it a close game at the halfway point. Melissa picked up 300 to add to the Terrace City lead on her attack, but the game remains close and a bit low-scoring. Leonardo kept Midland in range with 291 on this turn, but they are still behind late in the game. Quincy did well with 400 for the Knights at the end, giving them a final score of 1336. Americus answered with 433 for the Predators at the end, putting their final score at 1331 in a narrow, 5-point loss. Terrace City got away with one here to go to 7-10, just a little behind the 8-10 Midland side.
Chevrolet Field, Everton: The Eagles face a tough challenge in the Swifts, who sit Ice Cream in their second of a four-game road trip, while the hosts bench Blizzard this time. Patches couldn't handle a flurry of offerings all at once, falling with only 85 for Boston at the start. Goldy went on a surge for Everton, punishing the visitors' early mistake with 903 for Everton to give them a huge lead. Puff II shot back with 812 for the Swifts, keeping them in the fight with a stronger second attack. Puff III could not make a sufficient response, her 51 weakening the Eagles into a fierce battle in the second half of this game. Gradley lifted 670 for Boston, giving them an advantage for the first time in the game. Cleo couldn't deal with a ball on her backhand, ending at 322 as Everton slips behind now. Sweetheart tacked on 750 more for the Swifts, putting their final score at 2317, which makes things look pretty good. Kirstin fell at 287 for the Eagles, giving them a loss at 1563. Boston's remarkable surge gets them to 15-1, while Everton sinks to 6-10.
Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: The Blades sit Stealth in the week 8 finale, while Leonette takes a second straight game off for the Volcanoes after good results last time. Starlight picked up 359 for Pacific in an alright start to the game for the visitors. Snowball put Swordpoint ahead by a narrow margin with 389 on the opening turn. Ms. Kitty thought she had a bailout with a technical error replay, but the second try left her at 173, a worse performance as the Volcanoes waver. Dreamy plucked 407 for the Blades to strengthen their lead at the halfway mark. Twinkie I took over with 843 for Pacific, the big performance helping the visitors pull ahead. Bandit tried to keep Swordpoint on track, but a fast offering beat him at 331, giving them a deficit to face with a player each to go. Chicky Phil topped off at 352 for the Volcanoes, setting their final score at 1727. Jason N. came close on the rally for the Blades, but 520 left them short at 1647. Pacific rises again to 8-5, while Swordpoint slips under even at 9-10.
That's all for this week. We'll try to get the Tournament going again tomorrow, with no cricket scheduled. Select will return on Sunday for at least six games.
