Tournament X Qualifiers - Day 28

We're back for more qualifying action today. Leading off...

Tysini Hummingbirds captain Leandra plays 15-ball with the blue cue. Leandra was fairly solid early on, but three errors pushed her to 28 shots in the game. Web City Spiders veteran Waluigi gets today's second game, using the green cue in Rotation. Waluigi played well, closing in 23 shots with only two early errors. Everton Eagles mainstay Cleo is the 87th player to finish qualifying, playing Accuracy with the green cue. Cleo played it safe with 18 shots and no errors in her game, for totals of 138 shots and 8 errors, good for a provisional second place in qualifying. Another Eagle, the newcomer Vincent, will use the blue cue in 15-ball. Vincent played well despite tough positioning early in his game, then converted a 5-15 combination to the top right from distance to end on 10 shots with no errors. Atlantic Pirates stalwart Steven shoots 13-ball with the silver cue. Steven had a decent start, but his positioning on the 3 was a mess. He took four errors and 30 shots before finishing.

The 88th player done with qualifying is Stonebridge Wolves newcomer Kirstin, who plays Accuracy with the red cue. Kirstin kept her cool with 17 shots and no errors in the game. Her overall numbers were 162 shots and 10 errors. Viewpoint Sound Meteors newcomer Cobalt steps in for 15-ball with the silver cue. Cobalt couldn't control the cue ball enough, taking four errors in his 30 shots. Westside Rockers captain Misty keeps the silver cue active for her 9-ball game. Misty nearly potted the 9 on the break, but ended up needing to clear the table, which she did in 13 shots with no errors. Queens Flames newcomer Pauline goes ninth today, using the purple cue in 10-ball. Pauline couldn't calibrate her shooting very well, taking one error in 21 shots. Midland Predators newcomer Chicky Phil leads us into the lunch break with the green cue in Rotation. Chicky Phil looked completely unprepared to play, needing 35 shots with seven errors in an ugly outing.

When we return, the Pacific Volcanoes' Cowzart tries Rotation with the blue cue. Cowzart couldn't get clear looks early on and needed 32 shots with two errors to finish the game. Golden Pilots veteran Strut keeps the blue cue up in 15-ball. Strut had a questionable early game, but he deflected off the 6 to push the 15 to the bottom left for 15 shots and two errors. The 13th game of the day is Rotation for the Capital City Sharpshooters' Sprinkles, who also uses the blue cue. Sprinkles never really got clear looks, and many of her decent attempts rattled out, causing her to take five errors in 42 shots. Harrison Specters third-year Rudolph is ready to go in 12-ball with the red cue. Rudolph started well, but bad positioning late stuck him with 25 shots and an error. Rounding out the group, the Swordpoint Blades' Bandit shoots 15-ball with the red cue. Bandit had an awful start, similar to many today, but recovered with 28 shots and two errors.

Group four kicks off with Commerce Tradewinds hotshot Solaris playing Accuracy with the blue cue as the 89th player to finish qualifying. Solaris attacked well early, faded in the middle, and recovered to 16 shots at the end. Overall, he had 150 shots and 10 errors during his run. Whitewater Shores veteran Katharine draws in for Rotation with the green cue. Katharine had to play a little dirty with five errors in 29 shots. More Rotation follows as the Atlantic Pirates' Isabella plays with the purple cue. Isabella took three errors, but that helped her close at a reasonable 26 shots. Swordpoint Blades captain Snowball is next up, shooting 13-ball with the red cue. Snowball had a scratch on the break, the first of her two errors in a 24-shot outing. The 20th game today features Eastside Sharks sophomore Taylor M. shooting 12-ball with the red cue. Taylor M. had a virtually effortless performance in 19 shots with no errors.

The fifth group gets going as the Sharpshooters' Sprinkles plays 15-ball with the silver cue in her second outing today. It's just not Sprinkles' day, as she needed 32 shots and three errors this time. Easter Sharks rookie Lily is the 90th player done with qualifying when she plays Accuracy with the purple cue. Lily was good early on, but slipped up later and ended on 19 shots. Overall, she had 153 shots and 12 errors, and her finish means half of all players are done. Pronger Tridents captain Precious goes 23rd today, using the silver cue for 15-ball. Precious looked ready to attack, but the 15 was placed near the top left, and she converted a 4-15 combination to end on 12 shots and two errors. Viewpoint Sound Meteors star Frosty shoots 15-ball with the red cue next. Frosty kept her pace going well, finishing in 24 shots as she double-potted the 12-15 combination to the top right and the 13 to the top left as insurance. She had one error in the game. Wrapping up this batch, Hummingbirds captain Leandra is 91st to complete qualifiers with the red cue in hand for Accuracy. Leandra made up for some earlier failures by not missing once this time, taking 14 shots and no errors. She finished with 170 shots and 15 errors throughout her qualifying run.

The sixth set opens with Queens Flames superstar Violetta using the green cue for 15-ball. Violetta didn't have the best break, but attacked the cluster and jarred the 15 free, completing it with a double-pot combination to the bottom left on the 2. She had 5 shots and no errors. Following that, Freedom Cascades veteran Nikolai plays 15-ball with the green cue as well. Nikolai was good in a full-rack performance, needing 22 shots with one error to finish, including a mid-game triple-pot. Maplewood Lumberjacks star Whiskers will shoot Rotation with the blue cue in today's 28th game. Whiskers couldn't get control early on, and then collapsed later with four errors in 36 shots. Lighton Prestige captain Acorn draws in for 13-ball with the silver cue. Acorn scratched on the break, but that was his lone error in 17 shots. Pearl Surfers co-captain Watermelon closes the group in Rotation with the silver cue. Watermelon couldn't get anything to connect early on, taking 35 shots and six errors by the end of the game.

The 31st player called today is the Volcanoes' Cowzart, who takes 15-ball with the purple cue in his second game of the day. Cowzart had a rotten start, with six errors stemming from his bad shot selection. He then finished in 29 shots with a late surge. Terrace City Knights veteran Oreo draws in with the red cue in 13-ball. Oreo's good start went to waste with a sloppy finish that saw her take three errors before ending on 27 shots. Victoria Spurs captain Spice takes up the green cue to shoot Rotation. Spice played smoothly, taking no errors in 23 shots after a great start and passable finish. TodavĂa Stills star Sierra keeps the green cue active as she plays 13-ball. Sierra made good positioning out of a tough distribution, ending in 22 shots with no errors. The Knights' Oreo ends the group with Rotation and the silver cue in her second appearance today. Oreo had a solid showing despite three errors, which inflated her score to 26 shots.

Group eight starts as the Spiders' Waluigi gets his second game today, using the purple cue in 15-ball. Waluigi had tough angles and collected four errors among his 26 shots. Going 37th today, the Flames' Pauline uses the blue cue for 12-ball. Pauline was already in trouble after her second error, so she played safe to finish on 26 shots. Tysini Hummingbirds newcomer Hughbert is next, using the red cue in 15-ball. Hughbert had a decent start, but a slow finish and three errors pinned him at 28 shots. Boston Swifts veteran Gradley gets the next game, using the green cue in 10-ball. Gradley pulled off a score of 20 shots and one error after struggling early on. Rockers captain Misty also plays 10-ball, but with the red cue, to finish the group. Misty got creative after a frustrating break, taking three errors but ending in 15 shots anyway.

Another Rocker leads off the ninth group, as Chimpy shoots Rotation with the red cue. Chimpy had a standard outing of 26 shots and two errors. Oceanside Waves rookie Megan will complete her qualifying run 92nd by speed as she plays Accuracy with the green cue. Megan did pretty well to end in 16 shots with no errors for the game. Her overall numbers were 187 shots and 10 errors. The next game goes to the Pirates' Isabella, who shoots 15-ball with the purple cue. Isabella got a rare quad-pot on her second shot, and needed just 19 shots with three errors to close out the effort. Continuing along, the Knights' Oreo plays her third game today in 15-ball with the red cue. Oreo was highly effective early on, but a late fade and an error pushed to a still-good 21 shots. The 45th player drawn today is Whitewater Shores newcomer Smokey, who shoots 15-ball with the purple cue. Smokey wasn't as good at the end as he was earlier, needing 27 shots with one error to finish.

North Modernistic Nighthawks newcomer Gizmo is 93rd to complete qualifiers as he plays Accuracy with the purple cue. Gizmo was lacking command in this game, needing 20 shots to finish. Overall, he had 173 shots and 11 errors. The Stills' Sierra picks up the silver cue for Rotation in her second game today. Sierra took three errors early on, but it paid off as she cruised to the end in 23 shots. Pacific Volcanoes stalwart Ms. Kitty is the 94th player done with qualifying, using the purple cue in Accuracy. Ms. Kitty was a little slow at first, but closed on 16 shots in the game and totals of 184 shots and 11 errors overall. North Modernistic Nighthawks veteran Gal steps up in 10-ball with the green cue for today's 49th game. Gal couldn't get control of her positioning, taking three errors in 19 shots. The Specters' Rudolph ends the day with 13-ball and the blue cue. Rudolph displayed strong control, with just one error in 19 shots for a good end to the day's action.

Over half of the players are done, and just four days remain in the race to the exits.
