Tournament XI Qualifiers - Day 17

We'll be near the middle of qualifying after today's games. Leading off...

Capital City Sharpshooters captain Chris plays 13-ball with the green cue. Everything was a little off in this appearance, which saw Chris require 41 shots with three errors. Freedom Cascades veteran Nikolai also uses the green cue in 10-ball. Nikolai did no better with 29 shots and five errors in his turn. Apex Wonders veteran Mr. Snowman will try the red cue in 13-ball. Mr. Snowman's struggles came from illegally potting the 8 early on, giving him eight errors in 31 shots. Royal Crowns veteran Jake is 4th to shoot today, using the silver cue in 12-ball. Jake had the first really normal game of the day, and even he took two errors en route to 21 shots. Ending the group, Viewpoint Sound Meteors newcomer Josie uses the silver cue in 13-ball. Josie managed to finish at 23 shots despite taking three errors, two of which occurred on her first two plays.

In group two, Eastside Sharks sophomore Maison uses the silver cue for 9-ball. Maison was smart, using the 2 to deflect off the 4 and sink the 9 at the top left for 3 shots and no errors. Following that, Pearl Surfers veteran Boots uses the purple cue in 10-ball. Boots had an excellent turn, taking two errors for a missed contact scratch but also finishing in just 13 shots. Freedom Cascades newcomer Frosty is next, using the blue cue in 8-ball. Frosty took care of business with only 19 shots and no errors in the appearance. Going 9th today, Pronger Tridents veteran Prism uses the green cue in 10-ball. Prism finished with 6 shots on a 2-10 combination to the top right, but that came with two errors. Tysini Hummingbirds star Sugar ends the set with the red cue in 13-ball. Sugar avoided errors and had good positioning to end on 22 shots.

Group three starts with Lighton Prestige sophomore Angelica playing 9-ball with the silver cue. Angelica was fast in her appearance, pulling off two double-pots, including the 3 and 9 to the left corners to end with 4 shots and no errors. Modernistic Union sophomore Maggie also plays 9-ball, but she'll use the blue cue. Maggie struggled with precision, taking one error in 16 shots. Pacific Volcanoes veteran Twinkie I goes 13th today with the green cue in 13-ball. Twinkie I had one error in her game for a scratch, but she finished in a crisp 18 shots. Todavía Stills newcomer Hughbert is up for 10-ball with the purple cue. Hughbert wasn't very good, taking one error in 20 shots to compete the effort. Back in 13-ball, Queens Flames veteran Mario seals the group with the blue cue in hand. Mario pulled off a remarkably rare feat, getting the 8 to drop in the bottom side on the break to finish at 0 shots and zero errors.

The fourth batch opens as North Modernistic Nighthawks veteran Lionel uses the purple cue in 10-ball. Lionel took one error early on for missed contact, but rallied to finish on 16 shots. Boston Swifts newcomer Tigerette keeps the purple cue in action for more 10-ball. Tigerette needed 18 shots with three errors to finish after tagging a few illegally potted balls. Westside Rockers veteran Chimpy is next with the red cue in 12-ball. Chimpy took a couple of errors in a messy start, then corrected course to 20 shots at the end. Todavía Stills star Sierra picks up the green cue for 13-ball. Sierra struggled at the end of her appearance with bad positioning, taking two errors and 29 shots to close it. Southern Monarchs veteran Dominic finishes the group with the silver cue in hand for 10-ball. Dominic didn't have the best start, but he finished well with 18 shots and one error.

Going 21st today, Golden Pilots star Dusty shoots 13-ball with the blue cue. Dusty had a positional crisis in the middle of her game, then broke through it with just one error in 25 shots. Zenith Skywatchers sophomore Omari is next with the red cue in hand for 9-ball. Omari stunned at 4 shots and no errors, cutting the 3 to the top side with a deflection into the 5 that sent the 8 to the bottom left and the 9 to the top left. Golden Pilots veteran Max keeps the red cue active in 10-ball. Max held his ground well with a great start and solid finish at 14 shots with no errors. Web City Spiders veteran Nibbles gets his one switch of sticks in 10-ball, playing with the green cue. Nibbles took one error for an illegally potted ball and closed on 18 shots. At the halfway point today, the Royal Crowns' Brownie shoots 12-ball with the green cue. Brownie took an error on a botched play, but still finished with 20 shots in the game.

The sixth set is led by Oceanside Waves sophomore Megan, who uses the purple cue in 13-ball. Megan made some noise early on with three balls on the break, but a cautious finish and one error put her at 24 shots. Harrison Specters newcomer Snuggle keeps the purple cue active in 12-ball. Snuggle wasted his positioning at one point, but recovered to end on 22 shots with only one error. Diamond Gems veteran Salmo is ready to go with the red cue in 13-ball. Salmo was a bit reckless during his turn, to the tune of four errors in 23 shots. Next up is the Westside Rockers mainstay Goatee, who shoots 10-ball with the purple cue. Goatee skidded early and ended up with two errors in 21 shots. The 30th game of the day belongs to Apex Wonders captain Midnight, who uses the red cue in 10-ball. Midnight took one error for missed contact in the middle but cruised to 16 shots in the end.

Group seven begins with Modernistic Union newcomer Quincy using the red cue for 9-ball. Quincy was accurate early and savvy enough to play into a 5-9 combination at the top left for 6 shots and no errors. Freedom Cascades rookie Blake draws in for 10-ball with the blue cue. Blake had a strong outing with one error in 15 shots. Westside Rockers rookie Carly is 33rd to shoot today, using the silver cue in 12-ball. Carly made five balls on the break, and only one was illegal, which accounted for her lone error. It was a hard finish at the bottom side, leaving her with 23 shots in the end. Lighton Prestige captain Acorn will also use the silver cue as he attacks Rotation. Acorn had a lackluster start to the game with a couple of errors, but settled in for 27 shots at the end. Swordpoint Blades captain rounds out the group with the purple cue in 12-ball. Dreamy cruised through the appearance in 17 shots with no errors.

The eighth group gets going as Freedom Cascades veteran Andrew plays 12-ball with the purple cue. Andrew had a pair potted on the break and no errors over 19 shots for a good game. The 37th player called today is Victoria Spurs star Yekaterina, who introduces 15-ball with the silver cue. Yekaterina did good to get three balls down on the break, but ran streaky after that in 29 shots with one error. Queens Flames star Violetta goes next with the blue cue in 12-ball. Violetta got frustrated by her four errors, leading to a reckless finish at 23 shots. Moving along, Tysini Hummingbirds star Charli plays 12-ball with the green cue. Charli needed to split the rack after the break, but it worked out to set her on the path to 17 shots and no errors. More 12-ball finishes the group as Oceanside Waves captain Celestia uses the silver cue. Celestia had some trouble with her late plays, but ended on 22 shots with no errors.

Batch nine kicks off with Whitewater Shores captain Shaggy playing 13-ball with the purple cue. Shaggy kept it clean with no errors in 24 shots, a surprising score given how bad her positioning was. Stonebridge Wolves sophomore Jane is up for 13-ball with the silver cue in today's 42nd game. Jane couldn't get anything right, taking three errors and 30 shots to get through a brutal game. Swordpoint Blades veteran Stealth goes next, using the green cue for 9-ball. Stealth hunted the 9 the whole time, eventually finishing on 8 shots with a deflection off the 5 to the bottom left. He took one error. More 9-ball follows as Whitewater Shores star Katharine plays with the red cue. Katharine surged on offense with only 12 shots and no errors in her game. Wrapping up the group, Atlantic Pirates veteran Dusky keeps the red cue up in 13-ball. Dusky's pace was great early on, but the last ball gave her trouble to push her to 23 shots with one error.

The final group commences with Commerce Tradewinds newcomer Luigi also using the red cue in 13-ball. Luigi had better fortunes with positioning to finish his outing in 19 shots and one error. Southridge Defenders newcomer Roxy will try 13-ball with the purple cue next. Roxy had electric pace early on, but her positioning at the end led to one error and 21 shots. Royal Crowns rookie Kacey goes 48th today, bringing the red cue back in 13-ball. Kacey wasn't bad, but her inability to sink the 8 quickly led to three errors in 25 shots. Golden Pilots veteran Strut steps in with the green cue for 15-ball. Strut was sharp all the way through, and especially at the end to get to 23 shots with only one error. Central Warriors veteran Graham ends the day in 12-ball with the purple cue. Graham posted 19 shots and one error in a crisp finish to the day.

We're done for today, with the halfway mark officially occurring early tomorrow.
