We're ready to go with a new day of qualifying, and it should see the first glimpses of 10-ball activation. First up...
Southridge Defenders veteran Wario uses the green cue for 9-ball. Wario was very confident on offense, taking just 11 shots and no errors in his game. Golden Pilots veteran Strut will be the first to play 10-ball, doing so with the silver cue. Strut's break was awful, but he played it off well later, making the 4-10 combination to the bottom left to end at 7 shots and no errors. Back in 9-ball, Whitewater Shores captain Shaggy enters action today with the blue cue. Shaggy had some good moments, but mostly faced hard-angle shots, causing her to take 12 shots with no errors. Apex Wonders rookie Blair checks in with the blue cue for 8-ball. Blair was efficient in his game, taking only 17 shots with no errors. Atlantic Pirates veteran Dusky picks up the red cue for 10-ball. Dusky took a pair of errors, including one when she potted the 10 and scratched. She finished at 19 shots.
The second group leads off with Pronger Tridents veteran Potter using the purple cue for 8-ball. Potter made a pair on the break and played smart to end at 17 shots and no errors. Boston Swifts captain Sweetheart is next, playing 9-ball with the green cue. Sweetheart gambled on striking early but chased the 1-9 combination too long and ended with her lone error. She would clear the rack in 17 shots. Swordpoint Blades newcomer Stephanie will go 8th today, using the purple cue in 9-ball. Stephanie couldn't maintain any control on her shots, taking four errors and 21 shots to get through the game. Royal Crowns veteran Jake is up for 8-ball with the green cue. Jake couldn't strike fast enough early on, taking one error and 24 shots to finish. Commerce Tradewinds captain Taylor S. completes the group with the silver cue in 8-ball. Taylor S. struggled with 26 shots and two errors in her appearance.
Group three gets going as North Modernistic Nighthawks captain Peach makes her season debut with the silver cue in 7-ball. Peach needed 8 shots with one error to finish, twice missing the 7 to inflate her score slightly. Whitewater Shores veteran Marsell goes next with the purple cue in 8-ball. After two early scratches, Marsell sank the 8 illegally to end with seven errors in 25 shots. Capital City Sharpshooters rookie Ellie is next, with the purple cue in hand for 9-ball. Ellie looked to be in danger, but the 2 and 9 were connected closely, and she converted a combination for 7 shots and no errors in the game. Archtown Arrows veteran Hoppy also plays 9-ball, using the green cue. Hoppy did well with command despite poor positioning, ending with 13 shots and no errors. Pacific Volcanoes veteran Twinkie I also uses the green cue in 9-ball to end the group. Twinkie I started well, but the 9 evaded her late, and she took 14 shots with no errors.
The fourth batch starts as Harrison Specters captain Twinkie II uses the green cue for 9-ball. Twinkie II was displeased with two scratches early on, then barely held on for 16 shots in the end. The green cue stays active with Hughbert of the Todavía Stills playing 8-ball. Hughbert was alright, but took one scratch for his lone error in 23 shots. Viewpoint Sound Meteors newcomer Josie has the blue cue up for 9-ball. Josie was strong at the start, but lost control late and needed one error to finish with 14 shots. Victoria Spurs veteran Sage steps in with 8-ball and the purple cue. Sage took an error for a scratch on the break, but was otherwise clean with 21 shots. Boston Swifts newcomer Sydney S. is 20th to play today, using the red cue in 9-ball. Sydney S. took a frustrating scratch for her lone error, then slowly worked to end at 14 shots.
The fifth group begins with Midland Predators veteran Rainmane using the purple cue in 8-ball. Rainmane was very accurate, taking one error in 15 shots for a great showing. Up next, Apex Wonders rookie Maren shoots 8-ball with the blue cue. Maren's play wasn't as dominant, but she limited herself to one error in 20 shots. Capital City Sharpshooters mainstay Missy is ready to play 8-ball with the blue cue. Missy didn't mess around, potting two on the break and finishing at 15 shots with one error. The 24th player of the day is Everton Eagles star Cleo, who shoots 9-ball with the purple cue. Cleo had a fairly average game, taking no errors in 14 shots after some early bad fortune. Another 9-ball game with the purple cue sees the Royal Crowns' Brownie in action. Brownie rarely missed a play, finishing with no errors in 10 shots.
More 9-ball with the purple cue sees the Golden Pilots veteran Sparkles step up to the table. Sparkles had an error for a scratch but also used the 6 to deflect the cue into the 9, which fell at top left to end her game on 9 shots. Queens Flames veteran Briana is ready for 10-ball with the silver cue. Briana was lackluster despite the 10 sitting in front of the top side, as she took two errors and needed 19 shots to finish. The 28th game of the day is 9-ball with the blue cue for Westside Rockers rookie Carly. She couldn't keep it clean, taking one error for a scratch, but Carly finished well at 11 shots. Southridge Defenders newcomer Roxy also uses the blue cue for 9-ball. Roxy didn't do well early or late in the game, taking one error among 17 shots. Closing the set, Todavía Stills star Ruby shoots 10-ball with the red cue. Ruby started well, but struggled after making the 3. She had two errors and ended with 21 shots as the 10 was particularly evasive.
The seventh set opens with 8-ball and the blue cue by the Oceanside Waves' Celestia. It was a solid but unremarkable game, which saw Celestia fade to 22 shots with no errors. Tysini Hummingbirds captain Leandra gets the 32nd game today, and she'll also use the blue cue for 8-ball. Leandra took one error early on, but played well to finish with 22 shots. A season debut is on the way for Westside Rockers mainstay Goatee, who uses the silver cue in 7-ball. Goatee made a pair on the break and took one error for a scratch before closing at 6 shots. Queens Flames captain Crystal jumps in for 9-ball with the silver cue next. Crystal found her best command so far, dominating early before coasting to 10 shots and no errors. Boston Swifts veteran Ice Cream wraps up the group with the silver cue in 9-ball as well. An empty break worked out fine for Ice Cream, who closed with a 2-9 combination to the top left for 2 shots and no errors.
The eighth group sees Eastside Sharks sophomore Toki using the blue cue in 8-ball at the start. Toki took a couple of errors when positioning put him in for scratches, but a late double-pot saved his game at 22 shots. The 37th game of the day sees the Victoria Spurs' Strawberry try her hands at 8-ball with the blue cue. Strawberry managed to avoid errors, but she struggled at times and needed 24 shots for the game. Everton Eagles veteran Vincent is next, also shooting 8-ball with the blue cue. Vincent was fairly clinical in this one, needing only 19 shots with no errors to complete the effort. Following that, Queens Flames veteran Pauline picks up the green cue for 9-ball. Pauline went from rage to joy in a single play, as she sent the 2 off the table in frustration, then used it to deflect the 9 to the bottom right to end in 8 shots with one error. Archtown Arrows mainstay Sleepy B. uses the purple cue in 9-ball to round out the group. Sleepy B. nearly got the 9 multiple times early on, but had to settle for 17 shots and one error when things failed to line up.
The 41st player called today is Atlantic Pirates hotshot Isabella, who shoots 8-ball with the green cue. Isabella worked well early on, enough to ride out a slow finish and still close at 18 shots with no errors. Modernistic Union third-year Sydney C. draws in with the purple cue in 9-ball. Sydney C. did fairly well for an empty break and tough angles, ending with 15 shots and no errors. Eastside Sharks captain Taylor M. is next with the green cue in 10-ball. Taylor M. had to deal with too much congestion early on, taking four errors and ultimately falling at 23 shots. Commerce Tradewinds newcomer Luigi is up for 9-ball with the red cue. Luigi was blocked a lot early on, taking one error in 14 shots by the end of the game. At the back of the group, Tysini Hummingbirds newcomer Slinks plays 8-ball with the silver cue. Slinks took an error in the middle with a scratch, but didn't let it bother her as she closed with 20 shots.
The final group commences with Maplewood Lumberjacks sophomore Marissa playing 9-ball with the purple cue. Marissa had an awful time with positioning, taking three errors and getting lucky to convert a three-rail bank of the 5-9 combination to the top left for a finish with 15 shots. Central Warriors captain Twilight takes up the red cue for 8-ball. An occasionally frustrating turn saw Twilight clear the table in 22 shots with no errors. Southridge Defenders newcomer Stripes is 48th today, using the silver cue in 9-ball. Stripes took control early, then suffered an error for illegal contact. She used that to make the 6-9 combination to the bottom right to end on 6 shots. Eastside Sharks sophomore Lily keeps the silver cue active for 8-ball. Lily found her rhythm very early and posted only 18 shots with no errors for the game. The day ends with the green cue in 9-ball as Pacific Volcanoes veteran Leonette gets drawn for the finale. Leonette had a rough time with two errors early on before finishing at 16 shots.
The opening of 10-ball added some tumult to the qualifiers, but the games go on to cross the quarter mark tomorrow.
