Once again, Saturday plans to shoot fell through. We're back on a Sunday with...
Princess, the Tysini Hummingbirds superstar captain, who will shoot Rotation with the silver cue. Some of the shine Princess had the last two years has fallen off, as she went empty on the break and added six errors in this game, taking 31 shots in total in a poor outing for a player that may have peaked. Moving along, Queens Flames star Paige plays 15-ball with the blue cue. Paige was very solid in the game, erring only twice, and with some intent, while also aiming well and getting good positions to finish the game on a simple 24 shots despite an empty break. The third player of the day is Dreamy of the Swordpoint Blades, who will shoot Rotation with the blue cue. Dreamy made a ball on the break, but she would also take five errors in the game to keep things moving along, and it worked out to 24 shots for the veteran. Next up, Ms. Kitty of the Pacific Volcanoes plays Accuracy with the blue cue, the 74th player to complete qualifiers. Ms. Kitty played fairly well in the game, getting a ball on the break and taking no errors in her 17 shots. Overall, Ms. Kitty was better than average with 143 shots. Finishing the group, Midland Predators captain Shawn plays Accuracy with the silver cue, the 75th player done with qualifying. Shawn was bad in this game, taking three errors and nothing on the break to claim a score of 23 shots. Overall, he produced 161 shots, an underwhelming mark for the team's supposed leader.
Group two kicks off with Twinkie III of the Whitewater Shores playing 15-ball with the blue cue. Twinkie III did make a ball on the break, but she took three errors, including two on jump shot attempts, and she would need 29 shots to clear the table off. The seventh shooter of the day is Debby Ryan, Southridge Defenders captain, who will use the silver cue for 12-ball. Debby made two balls on the break, and while she had to be careful in picking through the rack, she managed to get out unscathed with no errors and 20 shots for the appearance. Continuing along, Shaggy of the Whitewater Shores plays 10-ball with the red cue. Shaggy made a ball on the break, but she would be hit with four errors during the course of play, partially negating a very effective game that ended at 17 shots. Zach gets the next game, becoming the 76th player to finish qualifying as he shoots Accuracy with the red cue. Zach scored 23 for the game, taking two errors and no balls from the break. Overall, Zach had 159 shots during qualifiers, an acceptable amount. Rounding out the batch, Midnight of the Westside Rockers plays Accuracy with the blue cue, the 77th player to finish qualifying. Midnight had a ball on the break, but also a scratch, the first of her two errors in the appearance. She would finish with a baffling 22 shots, as this event has been particularly challenging today. Midnight finished qualifying with a poor 177 total shots.
The third batch gets going with Twinkie III playing Accuracy with the red cue, the 78th player to complete qualifiers. Twinkie III would take nothing on the break, and she didn't have any errors, but she needed 21 shots for the games, as it continues to challenge players. Twinkie III used 164 shots in all of qualifying. Continuing along, Leandra of the Tysini Hummingbirds plays 15-ball with the silver cue. Leandra dazzled, showing impeccable control after an empty break. She wouldn't take an error, and she ended early with a glancing hit off the 5 to pot the 15 in the top right after a number of lucky bounces or designed carom plays, finishing in 7 shots. Following that, Defenders captain Debby Ryan comes back to the table for Rotation with the red cue. Debby had another pretty smooth game, erring with a scratch on her break but roaring back to take only four errors in the game, while also ending on 23 shots for the appearance. The fourteenth player called to shoot today is Modernistic Union rookie Daisy, who plays 15-ball with the silver cue. Daisy was unwilling to play within the rules for this game, wasting the ball she made on the break by taking eight errors and ending on 31 shots when her precision dropped a bit. The group finishes with Jasmine of the Freedom Cascades using the silvr cue in Accuracy, becoming the 79th player to finish qualifying. Jasmine had a fairly ideal game, taking no errors and nothing on the break, allowing her to take the game in 17 shots. She ended qualifiers better than the average at 147 shots in total.
The fourth group opens with Sleepy B. becoming the 80th player done with qualifiers as she shoots Accuracy with the blue cue. Sleepy B. had 24 shots for the games, taking no errors and nothing on the break in a just poor outing. She ended with a solid 151 shots over all of her games. Continuing along, Paige, the Flames star, is the 81st player to finish qualifying as she plays Accuracy with the silver cue. Paige didn't get anything from her break, but she also avoided any errors in this game, finishing with 20 shots. Overall, she was a bit lackluster in this qualifying performance, needing 163 shots in total. Potter, the Pronger Tridents rookie, shoots next, and he'll play 15-ball with the silver cue. Potter didn't produce anything on the break, but he limited his errors to three and finished the game in 26 shots, showing solid control at many points in the game. After that, Jennifer Livilotti of the Terrace City Knights plays 15-ball with the blue cue. Jennifer had a rough start to the game, working through it with intentional errors, which totaled four by the end of the game, and she closed with 26 shots on an empty break. The twentieth shooter of the day is Atlantic Pirates captain Delila, who will shoot 10-ball with the blue cue. Delila played a very fast game, getting nothing on the break and finding three errors over 15 shots in a still good appearance.
Batch five leads off with Stealth being the 82nd player to finish qualifying as he plays Accuracy with the silver cue. The Swordpoint Blades veteran wouldn't get a ball on the break, and he took a late error, but he scored a quick 16 shots for the game. Stealth ended qualifying with a similarly strong 145 total shots. Up next, Americus of the Atlantic Pirates uses the silver cue in 10-ball. Americus didn't get a ball on the break, making 10-ball a less-than-reliable judge of the effect of making balls on the break (research to come later this week!), and she had one error among her 16 shots for the game. The 23rd player drawn today is B. Chapman of the Victoria Spurs playing Rotation with the red cue. Chapman had a ball on the break, and while she did take three errors in the game, her final score of 25 shots reflected a very strong performance. Moving along, Spirit of the Lighton Prestige plays 12-ball with the red cue. Spirit got nothing on the break, making her efforts to take the game in only 16 shots without an error even more impressive. Wrapping up the group, Luigi, the North Modernistic Nighthawks rookie, plays Rotation with the silver cue. Luigi had a ball on the break, but he would take five errors in the game, pushing his score to 27 shots as he had some late struggles keeping the cue on the table.
The 26th player of the day begins group six, and that player is Kirstin of the Everton Eagles, who will use the blue cue in Accuracy as the 83rd player done with qualifying. Kirstin required 20 shots for the game, playing with nothing from the break and no errors during the course of play. She ended qualifying at 152 shots, a fairly average performance. Next up, Nighthawks rookie Luigi returns to play 15-ball with the red cue. Luigi made a ball on the break, but he would take three errors throughout the game to bring himself to a score of 26 shots. Defenders captain Debby Ryan plays her third game of the day now, shooting 15-ball with the red cue in this one. Debby made the best of a very tough distribution on her fruitless break, taking four errors, all with intent, and ending the game in 29 shots after some dazzling hits allowed her to stay competitive. Continuing along, Pounce of the Southern Monarchs plays 10-ball with the red cue. Pounce didn't quite make a ball on the break, and while he started hot, he cooled after three errors, ending on 17 shots in a still decent outing. Closing out the group, Precious, the Pronger Tridents captain, shoots 12-ball with the red cue. Precious was alright, taking a ball on the break but also suffering two errors as she had a wild time setting herself up, and this caused her to end with 23 shots for the game.
The seventh group starts with Max of the Queens Flames playing 10-ball with the blue cue. Max had some good shots and many more bad shots, taking nothing on the break and adding four errors over 22 shots for the game, a difficult score that indicates he is not ready for the upcoming tournament stage. The 32nd player of the day is Nibbles, the Viewpoint Sound Meteors rookie, who is the 84th player to finish qualifying with his Accuracy game with the blue cue. Nibbles didn't make a ball on the break, but he also didn't err in the game, finishing with 18 shots. He closed qualifiers with 151 shots, a good mark for the newcomer. Following that, Whiskers of the Infinity Torpedoes plays Rotation with the red cue. Whiskers continues to gain a reputation as an honest player, taking only one error after her empty break this game, and she ended it in 27 shots, doing just as well as most other players. Moving along, Starlight, the Pacific Volcanoes superstar captain, shoots Accuracy with the red cue as the 85th player to complete qualifiers. Despite making two balls on the break, Starlight's three errors and generally inconsistent shot ran her score up to 20. She did take only 138 shots for all of qualifying, another borderline elite output from her. The batch closes with Roxy of the Freedom Cascades playing 15-ball with the silver cue. Roxy made two balls on the break, but was forced into three errors for the game, ending with 28 shots in a fairly strong performance.
Bunch eight sees Prism of the Stonebridge Wolves shooting 12-ball with the red cue. Prism had nothing on her break, but it didn't hold her back, as she was error-free in executing excellent play, taking only 16 shots for the game after setting up and knocking down in fluid motions. Following that, Precious of the Pronger Tridents shoots Rotation with the silver cue. Precious fully committed to playing like a rogue in this game, needing only 25 shots but with five errors to finish the appearance after getting nothing on her break shot. The 38th shooter of the day is Puff II of the Boston Swifts, who shoots 15-ball with the red cue. Puff II didn't get anything on her break, and this didn't appear to matter much, as the 15 ended up near the top left very early. Unfortunately for the Swifts star, she was unable to get a shot on it until she potted the 9-15 double-pot for 29 shots, taking three errors and choosing to play ethically from them. This brings us to the end of the afternoon, with play resuming in the night session with Daisy, the Modernistic Union rookie, who will be the 86th player to finish qualifying as she plays Accuracy with the silver cue. Daisy needed 21 shots in the game, getting nothing on the break and taking no errors in the appearance. Overall, Daisy finished with 161 shots, a bit worse than the average. At the back of the batch, Delila, the Pirates captain, shoots 12-ball with the silver cue. Delila continues to have her best efforts in years, playing this game with a ball on the break and no errors for 18 shots.
The ninth group begins with Stephanie Livilotti shooting Rotation with the blue cue in the rookie's sixth career game with the Southridge Defenders. Stephanie did make a ball on the break, but she was rattled by an early error, her first of three, and needed 33 shots to finish the game by the time she was done. Next up, Pearl Surfers newcomer Boots finishes 87th by speed for qualifying, playing Accuracy with the red cue. Boots had a decent effort, going empty on her break and then finishing the game with 19 shots and one error, coming on her last hit via scratch. She finished the season with 147 shots, a good mark to endear her to the team. Marsell of the Whitewater Shores plays the next game, using the silver cue for 12-ball. Marsell had some clumsy shots on his turn, but he made two balls on the break and closed the game with 21 shots and one error, performing a lot of set-up shots before executing fairly well. The 44th player drawn to shoot today is Hummingbirds captain Princess, playing 15-ball with the silver cue. Princess had a ball on the break and faced very little further resistance going forward, taking only two errors before glancing the cue off the 13 to pot the 15 in the top left for a score of 21. Icing the batch, the Blades' Dreamy returns to the table for 15-ball with the red cue. Dreamy made a ball on the break to start this game, and she didn't slow down at all after that, taking the game in 21 shots with no errors while clearing the table.
Group ten gets going with Midland Predators veteran Leonardo playing 10-ball with the red cue. Leonardo played to a quick 6 shots, including a ball on the break, one error, and a 2-3-10 combination called and converted to the top right to end the game early. Following that, Mario of the Central Warriors finishes his rookie qualifiers with Accuracy, using the red cue to be the 88th player to the mark. Mario did make a ball on the break, and he basically cruised from there, ending the game in 17 shots without an error. Overall, he used 157 shots in qualifiers, a decent mark. The 48th player called today is Pirates captain Delila, who will use the blue cue for Rotation in this appearance. Delila didn't get a ball on the break, and the complexity of the rack didn't help her much, as she would need 30 shots with four errors to get through the game. Jake of the Royal Crowns gets the next game, shooting Rotation with the silver cue. Jake had a terrible game, taking seven errors and 34 shots after going empty on the break, pinning his failures on a lack of ability to find an open position most of the time. The group is completed by Nightfur, the Royal Crowns captain, who is the 89th player to finish qualifying as she shoots Accuracy with the silver cue. Nightfur required 19 shots in the game, getting nothing on the break but also taking no errors. Overall, she scored 165 shots, a sub-par total.
The eleventh group opens with Eastside Sharks star Taylor Swift playing Rotation with the blue cue. Taylor didn't quite make anything on an awkward break, and she would take three errors in the game, but a late burst let her finish with 26 shots, a decent score. Up next, her close friend Sydney Sierota plays 12-ball with the blue cue whilst representing the Harrison Specters. Sydney made two balls on the break, but her shooting was abhorrent afterwards, a disaster of lazy and wide shots. She would eventually finish with 23 shots, taking no errors despite the wild play. Moving along, Taylor Swift comes back to play 15-ball with the blue cue. Taylor did an amazing break shot, but didn't get anything to fall. With no clear ball-to-pocket shot on the 1, she bounced it off the 4 and 14, and the resulting caroms drove the 15 to the bottom right, ending her game at 1 shot with no errors. That's quite a tall task to match for the day's 54th competitor, Sugar of the Harrison Specters, who will use the silver cue in Accuracy as the 90th player to finish qualifying. Sugar did pretty well despite getting nothing from her break, as she rallied to take the game in 17 shots with only one error. She ended all of her qualifiers with 135 total shots, a number suggesting a near elite skill level. The last player called today is Goatee of the Westside Rockers, as she'll be the 91st player done with qualifiers when she plays Accuracy with the blue cue. Goatee had a ball on the break, but she fell apart at the end, needing one error and 21 shots to finish the game. She had a mediocre 162 total shots for all of her qualifiers.
Currently, we are projected to end qualifiers on Wednesday of the upcoming week, which would be on Day 25.
