Premier Cricket 2019 - Week 9

It's an odd week for Premier, as they play Thursday, Saturday, and maybe Sunday. We begin with...

Amazon Field, Golden: These teams open the week with the first of two meetings. The Warriors rest their rookie Andrew in the Generations Derby, while the Pilots sit Max this time out. Twilight struggled with a mere 100 on the opening turn, putting Central in a tough position early on. Valencia mopped up 467 for Golden to give them the initial lead, although not with much authority. Dustin showed a bit more strength with 645 on the second attack for the Warriors. Dusty covered much of the damage with an even 600 for the Pilots. Wings took 423 for Central, enough to cover the deficit again. Strut smashed 981 for Golden in response, carrying them far ahead late in the game. Noelle tried to rally but ended at 490 for the Warriors, leaving them at a loss with 1658. Sparkles tapped 324 to give the Pilots 2372 in the victory. Golden is back on track at 9-9, while Central slides to 9-6.

Nestle's Warriors Hall, Central: The Warriors return home to take on the last-place Predators. Rainmane sits out for the Predators, as does Twilight for the Warriors. Shawn posted a modest 295 for Midland to get their offense going. Dustin clubbed 710 for Central in response, immediately putting them noticeably ahead. Americus didn't help the Predators' cause with her 180 leaving them far short of the mark. Wings doubled up for the Warriors with 792, putting them far ahead at the midway point. Fuchsia maintained some pride with 650 for Midland, but they've got a long way to go to catch up. Andrew replied with 550 for Central, keeping them firmly in control of the game. Kitty flipped 247 as the Predators' loss was confirmed at 1372. Noelle made it easy with 113 at the end for the Warriors, capping their win at 2165. Central bounces back to 10-6, while Midland drops to 2-14.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: Southwestern rivals square off for the third time this season. Charli will take the bench for the Hummingbirds, while Sugar's on the sidelines for the Blades. Swordpoint got started with 400 from Snowball in a solid performance at lead-off. Sarah rattled off 650 for Tysini in response, putting the hosts ahead at first. Dreamy had a rare bad outing with a measly 65 points for the Blades, failing to cover the deficit. Leandra didn't do much either, raking in just 211 for the Hummingbirds to simply maintain their lead. Bandit chopped 420 for Swordpoint, enough to top the opponents for now. Vincent managed 205 to restore a smaller lead for Tysini, but they're not safe just yet. Stealth pushed with 451 for the Blades on his turn, setting their final score at 1336. Paps countered with 466 at the end to secure the win for the Hummingbirds at 1532. Tysini pulled off the upset to get to 4-10, while the Blades drop to 10-12 overall and 0-3 on their road trip.

Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: The Shores play the first of their two games this week against a tough Eagles team. Goldy sits for the visitors, while the hosts bench Marsell for rest. Bear didn't do so well with 223 for Everton in his first game back in his old home. Twinkie III crunched 705 for Whitewater in response, giving the hosts a lead early on. Cleo faltered at 231 as the Eagles have looked rather pedestrian through two turns. Shaggy answered with 418 for the Shores, keeping them ahead at the halfway point. Puff III hauled in 341 for Everton, which isn't enough to help them get closer. Katharine kept an honest effort going with 519 for Whitewater, extending their lead again. Kirstin didn't threaten the result at all with 250, leaving the Eagles in a loss with 1045, snapping their four-game winning streak. Rosalina flicked 243 for the Shores at the end, icing their win at 1885. Whitewater holds true at home to get to 7-12, while Everton falls back to fourth place at 11-7.

Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Slinks takes to the bench as the Rockers begin a road doubleheader, while the Sharpshooters are sitting Pauline. Misty made a desperate save to keep her turn going so she could score 587 for Westside early on. Chris replied with 530 for Capital City, keeping things close on the initial attack. Goatee cracked at 170 for the Rockers, putting them in a vulnerable position. Missy failed to seize the opportunity, locking up at just 96 points for the Sharpshooters when a ball fell onto her backhand. Chimpy fought back with 643 for Westside, giving their lead a little more strength with the big attack. Sprinkles whiffed on a low offering, ending at 324 as Capital City failed to keep it close on this turn. Midnight supplied another 864 for the Rockers at the end, giving them a total of 2264. Misty barreled 550 for Westside to start them off fairly well this time. Leandra tried to keep up but fell at 341 for Tysini on their opening attack. Slinks returned to the lineup with force, shoving 664 for the Rockers to boost their lead. Charli chipped back with 373 for the Hummingbirds, but they lost ground for two straight turns. Chimpy kept Westside's offense rolling with 639 on his turn, using good pace in the attack. Vincent covered the recent damage with 680 for Tysini, but they'll still need a late comeback. Midnight missed a swing, downing her at 377 to give the Rockers a total of 2230. Paps did alright with 401 for the Hummingbirds, but they suffered defeat with 1795. Westside rises to 22-2, while Tysini drops to 4-11.

Amazon Field, Golden: The Generations Derby rivals meet for the second time this week, with the Warriors seeking revenge minus Andrew and the Pilots sitting Max. Twilight did much better at starting the revenge game, slicing 659 from the lead-off position. Valencia answered with 572 for Golden, pulling back most of the deficit she faced. Dustin tapped 328 for the Warriors, weakening their lead a bit on the second attack. Dusty countered with 471 for the Pilots, covering the deficit at the midway mark. Wings muscled up for 782 for Central on his turn, challenging the hosts to make another comeback effort. Strut couldn't keep up with 416 for Golden, setting them back a little heading into the final turn. Noelle replied with 319 for the Warriors, failing to truly secure the game as they end with 2088. Sparkles failed to rally with a mere 276 for the Pilots, sending them to a loss at 1735. Central's revenge trip worked to get them up to 11-6, while Golden sinks to 9-10.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Swifts go without Puff II for this game, while the Shores elect to sit Rosalina on the road. Marsell cranked up 694 for Whitewater on the opening turn, shaking a recent slump. Patches slammed 790 in response for Boston, enough to give her side the initial lead. Twinkie III managed only 256 for the Shores, a much weaker second whack at the pinata. Gradley checked in with 319 for the Swifts, enough to build their lead a little higher halfway through the game. Shaggy chipped 220 for Whitewater, barely covering the deficit at this point. Sweetheart added a little more with 379 for Boston, who will take the decent lead into the final turn. Katharine collapsed with 200 for the Shores, their lack of depth scoring serving them a loss at 1370. Ice Cream kept it simple with a tiny 64 for the Swifts to cap their win at 1552. Boston is up to 9-7 while Whitewater falls to 7-13.

Amazon Field, Golden: Southeastern rivals clash as Shawn sits for the Predators and the Pilots have Sparkles sitting out this contest. Golden improved to 10-10, while Midland drops again to 2-15.

McDonald's Pitch at Pirates Park, Atlantic: The Pirates and Hummingbirds begin a home-and-home series with Paps sitting for the visitors and the hosts benching Isabella in the first game of their tripleheader. Sarah collected 275 for Tysini at the start, still a little rusty in her return to action. Delila barely edged Atlantic ahead with a quick 280 on her turn, looking like she could have had more with a better swing. Leandra didn't have a breakout turn with a simple 310 to restore the lead for the Hummingbirds. Steven rallied with 680 for the Pirates this time, pulling them far ahead at the midway mark. Charli got beat on a filthily deceptive offering, falling with 361 for Tysini. Klaus tallied 550 more for Atlantic, boosting their lead with a player each to go. Vincent plucked 330 for the Hummingbirds, sealing their losing total at 1276. Jason N. ended with a mediocre 236, closing the Pirates' win at 1746. Atlantic rises to 9-9 after defending their home turf, while Tysini dips to 4-12.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: In the other half of the home-and-home, Steven takes regular rest for the Pirates while the Hummingbirds sit their captain Leandra for long overdue rest. Delila scooped up 410 for Atlantic on the opening turn. Sarah pulled Tysini ahead by a narrow margin this time with 429 on her turn. Isabella replied with 515 for the Pirates, raising the stakes a bit on the second attack. Jason N. added 250 for the Pirates at the end to seal their offense at 1965. Paps managed 320 for the Hummingbirds, but they lost again with 1471. Atlantic sweeps the home-and-home to get to 10-9, while Tysini is down to 4-13 in what's increasingly becoming a lost season.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Pirates' tripleheader ends in the Week 9 finale, with Delila taking a seat for rest while the Swifts bench Ice Cream for regular rest. Isabella showed off some strength with 722 for Atlantic in a rare turn in the lead-off position. Patches took 391 for Boston, a bit of a down effort for her at home as the hosts will start from behind. Steven's road struggles popped up again with 225 for the Pirates, weakening their lead near the middle of the game. Puff II made a small gain with 260 for the Swifts, but they still have work to do in the second half of the game. Klaus answered with 350 for Atlantic, a decent contribution to their attack. Gradley chipped closer with 472 for Boston on his turn, shrinking the deficit late in the game. Jason N. went with 324 for the Pirates to close their offense at 1621. Sweetheart rallied with 676 for the Swifts at the end, sealing their comeback with at 1799. Boston is up to 10-7, while shoving Atlantic back to 10-10.
