Select Cricket 2019 - Week 10

We're back for cricket in a week where it takes sole possession of the spotlight as pool is on a break to set up for the upcoming Tournament. First up...

Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: These two teams begin a home-and-home set, with the Nighthawks sitting Luigi in the first leg, while the Meteors bench Hoot for regular rest. Peach lined 519 for North Modernistic on the opening turn, a threatening start. Princess answered with only 177 for Viewpoint Sound, giving the hosts an uphill battle early on. Cheddar tabbed 348 for the Nighthawks, adding a little more to their lead with her attack. Frosty missed a swing for the Meteors, but only after collecting 562 to cut into the deficit a bit. Gal had a rough time with 258 for North Modernistic, unable to support their lead any better. Nibbles wasted the opportunity with 96 for Viewpoint Sound, causing them to fall farther behind in the low-scoring game. Lionel added 395 for the Nighthawks at the end, sealing their offense at 1519. Dani made a hard push with 600 at the end, but the Meteors still fell with 1435. North Modernistic heads home at 15-6, while Viewpoint Sound dips to 7-8 ahead of the second game in the home-and-home.

IBM Nighthawks Nest, North Modernistic: The Meteors look for revenge as they begin a four-game road trip with Nibbles sitting out, while the Nighthawks bench Gal again at home. Princess again had a rough start with 247 for Viewpoint Sound getting them out of the gate sloppily. Peach was stronger at home, wrangling 839 before falling on a missed swing to give North Modernistic a big lead. Hoot showed some poise with 561 for the Meteors, keeping them withing striking distance with his effort. Cheddar offset much of that damage with 476 for the Nighthawks, protecting their lead. Frosty continued to keep Viewpoint Sound close, her 451 leaving them a little shy of the hosts' score. Lionel dropped at 170 for North Modernistic, the rough outing shaking their lead heading into the final turn. Dani let the Meteors down with 176, unable to force the hosts to respond to their final score of 1435. Luigi emphatically hit 625 for the Nighthawks at the end, sealing the win at 2110 in his return to the lineup. North Modernistic rises again to 16-6, while Viewpoint Sound is at 7-9 after the two-game sweep.

FedEx Ground, Eastside: The Sharks will take this chance to rest their captain Graham as he slumps, while the Monarchs begin a doubleheader with Pounce taking his turn to rest. Mams started with an alright 327 for Southern on the opening turn. Chelsea replied with 454 for Eastside to give them the initial lead. Panda got the Monarchs on a stronger track, slashing 714 on the second attack to easily cover the deficit. Taylor M. got 526 back for the Sharks, doing well to mitigate the damage at the halfway mark. Dominic had a decent 423 for Southern on his turn, doing well to protect the lead. Gizmo fired back with 486 for Eastside, making it an extremely close game with a player each to go. Salmo had a middling 276 for the Monarchs, leaving them with a final score of 1740. Cubby wasted the opportunity with only 192 on his turn, leaving the Sharks at a loss with 1658. Southern gets a surprise rare win to get to 5-16, while Eastside drops to 3-13.

Microsoft Pitch, Del Sur: Coastal rivals clash, with the Meteors sitting Princess as she'll watch while in a slump, while the Monarchs sit Salmo in this game. Panda dropped at a mere 50 points for the Monarchs, allowing the visitors to dictate the pace of the game. Nibbles gathered another 456 for Viewpoint Sound, protecting their lead efficiently.
