Premier Cricket 2018 - Week 19

Week 19 should come to an end this Wednesday, with Premier taking center stage. We begin with...

Amazon Field, Golden: The Pilots and Warriors meet in a Generations Derby match, with Wings on the bench for the visitors and A. Charlton sitting out for the hosts. Twilight picked up 464 in a solid opening performance for Central, giving them a strong start. Valencia slugged 1578 for Golden on their opening turn, giving the hosts a massive lead initially. Dustin managed only 104 for the Warriors in response, hurting their comeback hopes with the poor showing. Dusty attacked with pace for the Pilots, tacking on 705 to their offense at the midway mark of the game. Mario played well with 407 for Central, but the deficit remains massive against them. Strut canceled out that damage with 416 for Golden, playing with a conservative style to protect their lead. Noelle tapped 275 for the Warriors, unable to reverse the result as they lost with 1250. Sparkles accepted 640 for the Pilots in lieu of taking a technical error replay, icing their big win at 3339. Golden makes a statement in rising to 25-14, while Central backs down to 16-18 with the loss.

Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: The Tridents are at full strength for the stretch run, with Zach sitting as they host the Rockers, who bench Cowzart in the first of two meetings this week. Misty went off with 864 at the start for Westside, a great opening turn for the visitors. Precious drilled 1087 for Pronger in response, showing top-tier quality in grabbing the lead. Goatee struggled with a mere 50 for the Rockers, allowing the game to get away from them for now. Spot didn't back down for the Tridents, slashing 983 to nearly double their offense halfway through the game. Slinks faltered at 80 for Westside, making a comeback highly unlikely for the visitors. Potter didn't wow anyone for Pronger with his 217, simply moving the game along quickly. Midnight picked up 601 for the Rockers for posterity, leaving them in a loss at 1595. Lize had a modest 188 for the Tridents to ice their win at 2475. Pronger is up to 14-22 with the win, while Westside dips to 17-21.

Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: The Blades welcome the Pilots in a critical positioning battle. Sparkles takes standard rest for the visitors, while the hosts sit Jason N. Valencia had a quieter outing this time, but still tallied 571 for Golden to set the tone well on the road. Snowball fired back with 597 for Swordpoint, acknowledging the potential importance of this meeting. Dusty raised the stakes a bit with 696 for the Pilots on a greater second attack. Dreamy failed to catch up with 162 for the Blades, leaving them at a deficit in the middle of the game. Strut also attacked well with 643 for Golden, extending their lead again with the nice turn. Bandit couldn't keep his swing in order for Swordpoint, falling at 184 as the deficit deepens late in the game for the hosts. A. Charlton stayed in modest territory with 312 for the Pilots, icing their scoring at 2222. Stealth went on a rally with 1103 for the Blades, but they still came up short at 2046. Golden took a nervy win at the end, rising to 26-14, while Swordpoint steps back to 23-16 with the loss.

Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: Potter will sit out in the Tridents' second game against the Rockers, while the visitors put a slumping Goatee on the bench this time. Misty kept up her standards with 913 for Westside at the start, hoping for more support from her teammates this time. Precious didn't meet the challenge this time, her 711 keeping Pronger in range for a later counterattack. Slinks failed again at 128 for the Rockers, weakening their lead significantly. Zach went with 681 to pull the Tridents ahead rather easily at the halfway point of the game. Midnight pulled back with 472 for Westside, covering the deficit by a thin margin. Spot regained the lead with a mild 306 for Pronger, setting up a fairly interesting finish. Cowzart had to fight for a better pace, eventually clubbing 632 to give the Rockers a final score of 2145. Lize couldn't make the rally for the Tridents, her 312 leaving them short at 2010 in the loss. Westside recovers to 18-21, while Pronger slips to 14-23.

Verizon Field, Pacific: The Volcanoes get a chance to be spoilers as they host the Predators. The hosts have Chicky Phil on the bench again, while the Predators rest the durable Americus. Shawn made a weak play on a backhand, falling at 51 as he took out his own wicket on a poor swing. Starlight went off with 954 for Pacific, a great performance from the captain in a season lacking them. Rainmane lost her groove a bit and fell at 176 for the Predators, making the deficit worse. Ms. Kitty kept the Volcanoes in control with 311, although a bad swing left points on the table. Leonardo took two false starts before bursting to 283 for Midland, a poor turn in both discipline and form. Twinkie I shot back with a great 672 for Pacific, adding a significant boost to their lead with a player each to go. Fuchsia tried to get the Predators going, but her 247 left them in a deep loss at 757. Leonette flipped 650 more for the Volcanoes, icing the big win at 2587. Pacific's home surge continues as they jump to 14-24, while Midland drops to 18-18.

Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: Lize will take the bench for rest for the Tridents, while the Swifts begin a quadrupleheader with Puff II sitting this game out. Patches coolly smashed 1144 for Boston on the opening turn, a massive start from the MVP contender. Precious had the pace, but not the placement in hitting 280 for Pronger in response, putting the hosts in a hole. Gradley was less steady than usual, but his 311 keeps the Swifts firmly ahead. Zach put a dent in the deficit with 666 for the Tridents, bringing them closer at the halfway mark. Sweetheart fired back with 512 for Boston, maintaining their lead with another good turn. Spot faltered at 160 for Pronger this time, unable to keep pace with the aggressive visitors. Ice Cream made a big contribution with 793 for the Swifts, capping their score at 2760. Potter made a good push with 567, but the Tridents suffered the loss anyway at 1673. Boston clinches the #1 seed in Premier, rising to 31-5, while Pronger drops to 14-24.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Swifts' only home game in the quadrupleheader is here, with Gradley sitting out, while the visiting Blades bench Bandit after a tough game last time out. Snowball went off with 853 for Swordpoint at the start, managing well despite taking her swings at a low pace at first. Patches had a downturn in offense with 327 on this turn, giving Boston an early deficit. Dreamy fought that off with 384 for the Blades, keeping them firmly in the lead for now. Puff II pulled the Swifts back into the fight, with her 871 leaving them only very slightly behind. Stealth attacked with a lot of pace, but fell with a high hit at 350 as Swordpoint's lead takes another destabilization. Sweetheart scooped up 712 for Boston this time, putting them ahead with a player each to go in the high-scoring game. Jason N. had a steady swing for the Blades, but he fell with 394, and they ended at 1981, forcing the hosts into only a small response. Ice Cream did enough with 368 for the Swifts to cap their win at 2278. Boston remains formidable even when not at their best, going to 32-5, while Swordpoint drops to 23-17.

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Swifts now face the first of two straight Generations Derby games, with Ice Cream sitting here for the visitors. The host Warriors bench Dustin for rest. Patches chopped a quick 705 for Boston to get things going, a strong first attack for the visitors. Twilight kept it close with 624 for Central, a tenacious attack mitigating the damage between the captains. Puff II added 487 for the Swifts, a solid performance from the veteran. Mario got beat on a deflection at 361 for the Warriors, allowing them to slip a little farther behind halfway through the game. Gradley stumbled at 84 for Boston, giving them a bit to worry about at this point. Wings went off for 544 for Central, pulling them ahead late in the game as whispers of an upset swirl. Sweetheart had 286 for the Swifts, leaving them at a rough 1562, just narrowly ahead. Noelle made it quick with 96 for the Warriors, icing their win at 1625. Central pulls off a big upset to rise to 17-18, while Boston takes a hit back to 32-6.

Verizon Field, Pacific: The Swifts finish the quadrupleheader on the coast, sitting Sweetheart for rest in their roster rotation, while the Volcanoes sit Ms. Kitty for performance reasons. Patches was downed by a deflection at 36 for Boston, her worst start to a game in a lone time. Starlight took full advantage of the opportunity, smashing 1089 for Pacific to set the hosts far ahead. Puff II couldn't get a grip for the Swifts, ending at 279 in a game that may be doomed from the start for the visitors. Twinkie I provided plenty of support with 855 for the Volcanoes, extending their lead greatly. Gradley returned to form with 690 for Boston this time, but they remain at a deficit. Leonette fired back with 506 for Pacific, maintaining the lead efficiently. Ice Cream collected 1023 for the Swifts at the end, but they would fall at a total of 2028. Chicky Phil had an unsightly 53 to top off the Volcanoes' win at 2503. Pacific's home surge has them at 15-24 now, while Boston drops to 32-7 with the effects of fatigue beginning to wear on them.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: The Knights have Oreo resting in the T-Line Derby match, while the Stills sit slumping star Sierra in their only game this week. Easter had a good turn going at first, but some poor swings and a failed backhand conspired to stall the Todavía captain at 335. Kiwi did not lose her focus, but a heavy swing would be her downfall at 402 for Terrace City. Bells joined the Premier offense parade, belting a massive 1099 to give the Stills a more confident second chance at the lead. Jennifer shot back with 1213 for the Knights, restoring a small lead for the hosts. Prism fired back with 924 for Todavía, refusing to let the visitors slip behind at any point. Melissa got beat on a deflection at 256 for Terrace City, causing them to fall far behind late in the game. Anton supplied 593 more for the Stills at the end, finishing their scoring at 2951. Quincy stumbled at 192 for the Knights, sealing their loss at 2063. Todavía outlasted their hosts, rising to 16-23, while Terrace City sinks to 13-21.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: The Knights give Melissa this game off, while the Swifts' roster rotation in a busy week ends with Patches taking a seat this time. Puff II had a strong 729 for Boston in a rare lead-off appearance, giving them something to build on later. Kiwi replied with 888 for Terrace City on their opening turn, a brilliant counterattack to get them ahead. Gradley reclaimed a smaller lead with 368 for the Swifts, not his best effort by any measure. Jennifer collapsed with 119 for the Knights, unable to reclaim the lead in a disaster turn midway through the game. Sweetheart tallied 385 for Boston this time, adding modestly to their lead in a crazy game. Oreo shoved 646 for Terrace City, clearing multiple balls at once multiple times to keep going as the hosts regain the lead. Ice Cream faltered with 283 for the Swifts, leaving them at a final of 1765, to which the hosts only need a small response to top. Quincy failed to provide that response, losing control and ending at 21 for the Knights to suffer a resolve-crushing loss at 1674. Boston survives a near disaster to get to 33-7, while Terrace City is in shambles at 13-22 with the latest loss.

HP Field, Midland: The Week 19 finale of Premier is here, with Shawn sitting for the host Predators, while a struggling Marsell returns to the bench for performance reasons for the Shores. Bear tried to make a save after missing on a swing, but he was too slow, falling at 211 for Whitewater. Rainmane accepted 393 for Midland despite earning a technical error replay, as she was unwilling to try again. Twinkie III sliced 545 for the Shores this time, putting them noticeably ahead. Leonardo answered with 399 for the Predators, covering the deficit just barely at the midway point. Katharine had a weak 168 for Whitewater, putting them in a vulnerable position. Americus made a move with 438 for Midland on her turn, putting the hosts ahead with a player each to go. Shaggy fired back with 444 for the Shores, their final score of 1368 forcing the hosts into a response. Fuchsia met the challenge with 399 for the Predators, clinching their win at 1629. Midland rises to 19-18 now, while Whitewater drops to 16-22.

Cricket will be done until next Monday. Tournament action will take over for a couple of days before time off.
