Premier Cricket 2018 - Week 17

A new week of Premier action finally gets going after some delay. We begin with...

HP Field, Midland: The Predators start the week in a home doubleheader, taking on the Warriors in the first game. Noelle sits for the visitors while Rainmane is on the bench for the hosts. Twilight gained 366 for Central to lead off this game, not her best performance of the season by any means. Shawn lacked pace for most of the turn, but still produced 678 for Midland to take an early lead. Dustin caught up with 395 for the Warriors, but their lead is not very strong. Leonardo provided a great second attack with 719 for the Predators, boosting their lead. Mario rattled off 888 for Central in a potent counterattack, keeping them in the fight. Americus kept Midland's offense consistent with 695, keeping up the high-scoring theme to this game. Wings poked 304 for the Warriors, leaving them in a loss at 1953, a tough result to take. Fuchsia slipped late with 198 for the Predators, but they took the win at 2290. Midland is up to 16-16, while dropping Central to 11-15.

HP Field, Midland: The Predators complete their doubleheader against a much stronger Swifts team. Puff II gets rest for the visitors while Fuchsia sits for the host in this Southeastern Derby match. Patches slugged 1277 for Boston to start the scoring here in fine form for the visitors. Shawn had only 281 in response for Midland, unable to muster much response. Gradley tacked on a massive supporting effort with 791 for the Swifts, extending their lead greatly. Rainmane countered that with 745 for the Predators, mitigating the damage at the halfway mark. Sweetheart got jammed at 376 for Boston, adding a bit to their lead, which remains in firm standing. Leonardo couldn't make a move for Midland, falling with a poor 168. Ice Cream bounced back with 529 for the Swifts, capping a fantastic team effort at 2973, most likely enough for a win. Americus countered with 543 for the Predators, but they took a hard loss at 1737. Boston recovers from their recent loss to get to 29-5, while Midland drops to 16-17.

Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: The Tridents have Lize on the bench as she eases back to action, while the Shores sit Katharine this time out. Bear smashed 1215 for Whitewater on the opening turn, an unexpected and emphatic start for the visitors. Precious answered with 495 for Pronger, trying to keep their offense respectable even if it may fall short. Twinkie III brought a pacey second attack with 975 for the Shores, adding a big boost to their lead. Zach fought back with 848 for the Tridents, trying to give them a chance should their opponents falter at any point. Marsell lost some steam for Whitewater with 288, giving the hosts a small opening to attack at. Spot got 475 for Pronger on his turn, but they remain pretty far behind with a player each to go. Shaggy did reasonably well with 427 for the Shores, capping their offense at 2905. Potter didn't let the Tridents fall quietly, rallying with 871 but ultimately ending short at a total of 2689. Whitewater gets a much-needed to win to rise to 15-20, while Pronger dips to 10-20 with the loss.

Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: Snowball's struggles leave the Blades without their captain again, while the Stills bench Bells after a bad outing in her last appearance. Easter took only 181 for Todavía, her own scoring dropping off recently for the visitors. Dreamy didn't give Swordpoint the lead this time, returning with a disappointing 159 instead. Sierra shot back with 679 for the Stills, giving them a much more confident lead on the second attack. Bandit tried to make a play on his backhand, but it didn't connect, dropping him at 368 for the Blades. Prism had a good pace going, but a sloppy swing stopped her at 115 for Todavía. Stealth shot back with 512 for Swordpoint, making it a much closer game heading into the final players' turns. Anton flicked only 169 for the Stills at the end, leaving them with a weak total of 1144. Jason N. wasn't outstanding, but his 247 secured a Blades win at 1286. Swordpoint has won ugly a few times in this home stand, rising to 21-15, while Todavía is down to 15-19.

BMW RockDome, Westside: The Rockers take on a Tridents team leaving Lize at home for more rest. The hosts will bench Cowzart for this game. Precious immediately slammed 899 for Pronger to start the scoring in fine form for the visitors. Misty shot back with 1201 for Westside, giving the hosts a nice lead with the counterattack. Zach covered the deficit with 546 for the Tridents, keeping things competitive for now. Goatee was not clean with her swing at all, causing the Rockers to fall behind when she managed only 117 on the turn. Spot went off with 1103 for Pronger in this appearance, pulling them far ahead with a brilliant attack. Slinks hit a weak 69 for Westside, likely sealing their fate for this game as the final players come to bat. Potter tacked on 501 for the Tridents at the end, icing their offense at 3049. Midnight had a solid 456, but the Rockers couldn't reverse the damage, losing with 1843. Pronger's surprising burst puts them at 11-20, while Westside takes a knock back to 17-18.

Apple Park, Todavía: These two teams will meet in a home-and-home series, with the Warriors sitting Wings and the Stills benching Easter in the first game along the coast. Twilight had 495 for Central on the opening turn, a good performance from the visiting captain. Sierra managed 240 in a rare lead-off appearance for Todavía, recovering about half of the deficit facing her team. Dustin answered with 560 for the Warriors, the second attack extending their lead significantly. Bells did alright with 200 for the Stills this time, but they are struggling halfway through the game. Mario continued the high-offense strategy with 543 for Central, keeping them in firm control. Prism pulled back with 632 for Todavía, but the hosts remain fairly far behind late in the game. Noelle tapped 328 at the end for the Warriors, bringing their final score to 1926. Anton sprayed 520 for the Stills at the end, bringing them closer but not close enough to avoid the loss as they finished with 1592. Central wins the first part of their tripleheader, going to 12-15, while Todavía slips behind them at 15-20.

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Warriors now get a pair at home, sitting Twilight on the back half of the home-and-home, while Sierra is out for the Stills this time. Easter had a modest 286 for Todavía to get things going, leaving them in a tough position after the first turn. Central took the lead on 345 from Dustin, whose modest output will have to be enough for now. Bells tried to handle a ball on the ground for the Stills, but accidentally poked it into the stump, ending with 520 after the mistake. Mario remained in form with 729 for the Warriors this time, extending their lead at the midway mark. Prism got taken out by a deflection at 108 for Todavía, hurting their comeback chances. Wings drilled 1060 for Central this time, a massive attack to solidify their lead. Anton shot back with 614 for the Stills, but they took the loss with 1528. Noelle had only 209 for the Warriors, capping another win at 2343. Central rises to 13-15, surging this week, while Todavía sinks to 15-21 with the loss.

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Warriors complete their tripleheader against the Shores. Marsell is on the bench as the Shores finish a five-game road trip, while Dustin sits for the hosts. Bear couldn't get his pace up for Whitewater at all, falling with 212 after a decent-length turn. Twilight got beat on a deflection at 202 for Central, leaving them narrowly behind after the first turn. Twinkie III had something going early, but a cluttered pitch and a deflection stalled her at 234 for the Shores. Mario's recent form faded a bit, but his 479 put the Warriors ahead at the halfway mark. Katharine shot back with 352 for Whitewater, covering the deficit in one of the grittier games this week. Wings tapped another 471 to support the Central lead with a good output on his turn. Shaggy made a pressuring attack with 495 for the Shores, bringing their final score to 1293 to force a response from the hosts. Noelle didn't take over the game, but her 286 served the Warriors well in securing a win at 1438. Central rises again to 14-15, while Whitewater gets pushed back to 15-21.

Apple Park, Todavía: The Pilots make a short road trip, sitting A. Charlton in the first game, while the Stills have Prism on the bench for standard rest this time. Valencia tagged 458 for Golden to lead off the scoring decently for the visitors. Todavía answered with 578 on Easter's lead-off turn, putting the hosts ahead initially with a strong start. Dusty shot back with a strong 717 for the Pilots, easily covering the deficit with a terrific outing. Sierra couldn't pull the Stills back into the game, her weak 200 putting them at a noticeable deficit. Strut exploded for 998 for Golden on his turn, strengthening their lead once again with the great performance. Bells crashed back with 624 for Todavía, keeping them competitive but still behind late in the game. Sparkles blasted another 1360 for the Pilots at the end, finishing their offensive outburst at 3533. Anton played well with 675 for the Stills at the end, but they fell with a total of 2077. Golden's strong game gets them up to 23-13, while Todavía sinks to 15-22.

Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: The Tridents give Lize one more game to rest, while the Warriors have Noelle back on the bench with the hopes of maintaining their hot streak. Twilight didn't get a great grip on her turn, falling at only 106 for Central in a poor appearance. Precious fired back with 424 for Pronger this time, giving them the first crack at the lead. Dustin fired back with 453 for the Warriors, covering the deficit with his good showing. Zach countered with an even better 656 for the Tridents, extending their lead at the midway mark of the game. Mario is running out of steam after a busy week, falling with 361 for Central this time, unable to match the deficit. Spot chipped 703 in response for Pronger, ending on an unlucky deflection as he boosted the lead. Wings took 624 for the Warriors, a strong turn individually but not enough to avoid the loss at 1544. Potter took a mild 295 for the Tridents to cap their win at 2078. Pronger is up to 12-20, while Central drops to 14-16 with the loss.

Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: The Tridents will give Potter this game off, while the Knights choose to rest a fast-slumping Jennifer in this one-off road game between home stands. Kiwi had a good pace going for Terrace City, but a high hit downed her at 339 on the first turn. Precious shot back with 502 for Pronger, giving them the edge initially with another good turn. Oreo kept the Knights going with 566 on the second attack, directly challenging the hosts with the effort. A deflection threw Zach off his rhythm and ended his turn with only 204, causing the Tridents to fall behind. Melissa kept it simple with 359 for Terrace City, but she did have to work to make that contribution. Spot charged back with 666 for Pronger, putting them ahead with a player each to go. Quincy had 147 for the Knights, a less-than-confident score that leaves the visitors vulnerable with 1411 in total. Lize kept her swings compact and produced 631 to give the Tridents a runaway victory at 2003. Pronger rises again to 13-20, feasting on a busier schedule recently, while Terrace City drops to 12-19.

Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: The Shores have Twinkie III on the bench for rest, while the Eagles sit Cleo in an important game to set the tone for the last five weeks. Goldy clobbered 867 for Everton on the initial turn, a great starting point for the visitors to work from. Bear made a good backhand stop, but he slipped in pace before dropping at 552 for Whitewater. Puff III had 164 for the Eagles on the second attack, dramatically weakening their lead. Marsell was worse with only 24 for the Shores on his turn, allowing the deficit to grow halfway through the game. Kirstin managed 247 for Everton, but their lead remains shaky after her turn. Katharine pulled Whitewater back into the game with her 490, making it close as the final players come to bat. Blizzard had a measly 80 for the Eagles at the end, icing their offense at a vulnerable 1358. Shaggy shelved 528 for the Shores, carrying them to the win at 1594. Whitewater starts to recover from their skid, rising to 16-21, while Everton is 15-17.

That's all for Premier this week. An announcement on Week 18 scheduling will be made later today.
