Series are beginning to get more defined as we hit game 4. First up in today's action...
Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: The Torpedoes will give Shelley some rest in this game, while the visiting Blades sit out Stealth after a bad performance. Snowball had a bad outing with 114 for Swordpoint, unable to switch onto her backhand fast enough to save a deflected offering. Smudge had good pace early in her turn, and then she cooled down to record 575 for Infinity for the early lead. Dreamy fired back with 751 for the Blades, covering the deficit on a great turn. Fluffina fell with only 106 for the Torpedoes, causing them to slip behind at the halfway mark. Bandit smacked 696 for Swordpoint on his turn, a great effort to extend their lead at this point. Solaris managed just 164 for Infinity in response, making a comeback less likely. Jason N. slugged 1320 for the Blades at the end, securing an overwhelmingly likely victory at 2881. Mr. Snowman had a decent 393 for the Torpedoes, capping their loss at 1238. Swordpoint has tied the series at 2 before heading back home.
Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: The Crowns have Jake on the bench for performance reasons, while the Hummingbirds give Princess a game off at a critical moment in the series. Leandra had a false start on her first try, but managed 566 for Tysini on the second attempt to stake out a nice lead. Kayla answered with 570 for Royal, essentially nullifying the first turn in scoring. Charli kept the pressure up with 529 for the Hummingbirds on the second attack. Jeremias chipped back with 599 for the Crowns, giving them a bit more of a lead midway through the game. Brownie went to her backhand on one swing, falling at 67 when the next offering beat her to destroy the Tysini offense. Nightfur ripped 828 for Royal in response, giving them a large lead with a player each to go. Paps fell far short at 273 for the Hummingbirds, leaving them with a loss at 1435. Cassie went with 520 for the Crowns at the end, icing their win at 2517. Royal is in quite the groove, leaving home with a 3-1 series lead now.
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: The Sharpshooters are playing for their season, and will sit Missy, while the Swifts look for a second consecutive sweep with Ice Cream taking the bench. Patches had a crooked 225 for Boston, clipping the boundary early in her turn for the mediocre result. Chris managed 262 for Capital City, good for a narrow lead at the start of the game. Puff II got the Swifts off the ground with 503 on her turn, a much better look at the lead. Sprinkles fired back with 903 to pull the Sharpshooters farther ahead at the midway point. Gradley fell apart with 66 for Boston this time, making the deficit all the steeper for the visitors. Lorde played deflections really well for Capital City, taking 481 to boosting their lead a bit more late in the game. Sweetheart tried to fight back with 603 for the Swifts, but they took a hard loss at 1397. Pauline had a simple finish with 126 for the Sharpshooters, giving them a win at 1772. Capital City has staved off the sweep once, cutting Boston's series lead to 3-1.
McDonald's Pitch at Pirates Park, Atlantic: The Pilots have their best chance of getting back in the series when they rest Sparkles, while the host Pirates have Delila taking this game off. Valencia wasted the early advantage by hitting a pathetic 28, getting shaken up by a messy start. Isabella admirably filled in at lead-off with 595 for Atlantic, staking out a sizable initial lead. Dusty got knocked down at 99 by deflections, making a Pilots comeback even less likely now. Steven countered with a great 616 for the Pirates, extending their lead significantly. Strut picked up 307 for Golden, unable to even put much of a dent in the deficit. Klaus took a stumble at 167 for Atlantic, but their lead is not in any real danger heading into the final players' turns. Sparkles took 290 for the Pilots, sticking them with an embarrassing loss at 724. Max accepted an ugly 79 for the Pirates at the end to ice their win at 1457. Atlantic's diminishing returns have not hurt yet, as they leave home ahead 3-1 in the series on the brink of advancing.
That's all for today's action. All four series will need to play in tomorrow's game 5s, while the schedule after that will be determined as we go.
