Hutton Cup - Quarterfinals, Game 6

We'll finish off the quarterfinals today, with the game 6s played to determine the need for game 7s. We begin with...

Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: Mr. Snowman will sit out this game for the Torpedoes, while the Blades are resting Dreamy while they fight for their season. Snowball had a strong start with 577 for Swordpoint on the first turn, giving them something to build upon later. Smudge poked 371 for Infinity in response, unable to match the deficit as the hosts are behind after one turn. Bandit answered with 694 for the Blades on the second attack, a great extension to their lead. Fluffina failed at 25 for the Torpedoes, probably needing rest at an inconvenient time. Stealth simply didn't have a good performance at hand for Swordpoint, falling at an ugly 36 to keep the lead fairly steady. Solaris hauled in 757 for Infinity, making some great progress against the deficit as the final players come to bat. Jason N. fought off the danger with 441 for the Blades, giving them a total of 1748 for the game. Shelley pulled off a miracle comeback with 742 for the Torpedoes, ending the series right here as they win with 1895. Infinity takes the series 4-2, and were led by Smudge during the series, while Bandit gets honorable mention for the vanquished Blades.

McDonald's Pitch at Pirates Park, Atlantic: The Pirates take a second try at finishing off the series, sitting Steven, while Strut is out for rest with the Pilots in this road game. Valencia didn't have her best with 338 for Golden, leaving them a little vulnerable at the start. Delila took 495 for Atlantic in her return to the active roster, pacing the hosts to a small lead. Dusty crumbled at 208 for the Pilots, the weak second attack barely covering the deficit. Isabella showed well with 696 for the Pirates on their second attack, extending the lead greatly at the halfway mark. Sparkles knocked 407 in a solid outing for Golden, but they remain behind in an increasingly difficult game. Klaus protected against that with 481 for Atlantic, giving their lead another small boost near the end of the game. A. Charlton fell at 306 for the Pilots, unable to make up the deficit as they lost with 1259. Max chipped 222 for the Pirates at the end, capping their win at 1894. Atlantic took this series 4-2, with Isabella leading the way to a series against her own mother and the Infinity Torpedoes. The two Elite rivals split results across all venues, with the Pirates having taken 2nd place in the division on a points tiebreaker.

That's all we've got in the quarterfinals. The semifinals will likely begin tomorrow afternoon with games 1 and 2 at the host team's venue.
