Tuesday's action is ready to begin on time, with...
Audi Hall, Terrace City: Jennifer v. Spice. The red cue gets first dibs today, playing 10-ball. Terrace City's Jennifer had an early three-ball run in game 1, which Victoria's Spice matched. They played even in the late-game as well, but Jennifer put the 10 in the bottom left for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Knights' Jennifer baited the Spurs' Spice in game 2, leaving a 1-10 combination on a cut line for Spice off the break. Spice was unable to convert the play, and Jennifer made a much simpler version of the same combination for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Jennifer had a five-ball run over the middle of game 3, including a deferral of possession by Spice, who would easily pick up the offense and win on a three-ball run-out. Jennifer still took the series 2-1 and will play in the second round.
Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Taylor S. v. Leonardo. The silver cue is up for this 7-ball series. Commerce's Taylor S. had an excellent game 1, ending with a five-ball run-out in a dominant win over Diamond's Leonardo for the 1-0 series lead. The Tradewinds' Taylor S. dominated the offense again in game 2 as the Gems' Leonardo couldn't string anything together. Taylor S. ended on a four-ball run-out, with a 6-7 combination to the bottom right sealing the win and the series at 2-0. Game 3 went much slower, but had a classy finish from Leonardo on a kicked 5-7 combination to the bottom right to avoid getting swept. Taylor S. won the series 2-1 to advance to round two.
UPS Hall, Maplewood: Bryant v. Dewey. The silver cue remains in action for a 13-ball series. Maplewood's Bryant took the early lead in game 1, and then benefited from a one-for-one collateral damage exchange near the end with Oceanside's Dewey. Bryant followed this up with a three-ball run-out for the win and a 1-0 series lead. The Lumberjacks' Bryant stayed strong with five balls over his first two turns of game 2, and while the Waves' Dewey tried to put himself into position, a missed shot lined up Bryant's last two shots of the game. Bryant claimed the win to clinch the series at 2-0. Bryant started much slower in game 3, but Dewey plateaued far too early, giving Bryant time to make a comeback run. Bryant would get the win on a pair of shots, sweeping the series 3-0 to earn a second round spot.
T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Mitchell v. Nightfur. The blue cue is up now for another series in 7-ball. Victoria's Mitchell never let Royal's Nightfur to the table in game 1, as Mitchell ran the table with two balls on the break and five more after that for the 1-0 series lead. The Spurs' Mitchell made a five-ball run from the break in game 2, but the Crowns' Nightfur scratched on her first shot of the series. Mitchell then made the last two balls, taking the win to seal the series at 2-0. Mitchell completed the 3-0 sweep with the 6 falling in the top right and the 7 in the top side on the game 3 break, making all 16 balls potted during the series. Mitchell is riding a wave of momentum to the second round.
Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Twinkie I v. Nicole. Former teammates go at it in 8-ball with the red cue. Pacific's Twinkie I looked to have the better of the offense in game 1, but a positioning play went bad when she illegally potted the 8 to gift the win to Lighton's Nicole, who holds a 1-0 series lead. The Prestige's Nicole did better in game 2, pacing the offense until the end when the Volcanoes' Twinkie I rallied. Twinkie I had a chance to bank the 8, but she misplayed it, scratching and potting it in an uncalled pocket to gift another game to Nicole, who secured the series at 2-0 in the process. Nicole finally earned a win on her own, taking a five-ball run-out to stun Twinkie I at the end. Nicole swept the series 3-0 to move into the second round.
Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Niki v. Dani. Club-mates are set to face off in 9-ball, also using the red cue. Game 1 started slowly until Commerce's Niki put up a three-ball run, which Viewpoint Sound's Dani answered with a five-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. Game 2 also saw some struggles on offense, but the Meteors' Dani took a ball on the break and double-potted the 2-9 combination to the bottom right to secure a 2-0 series win over the Tradewinds' Niki. Dani again had a majority of the offense in game 3, but she whiffed on the 9 at the bottom side. Niki put it away to avoid the sweep, leaving Dani with a 2-1 series win to take with her into round two.
IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Peach v. Wild Thing. The silver cue is back for its second taste of 13-ball today. North Modernistic's Peach made one of each suit on the game 1 break, but her offense went cold at the end. Peach tried to be annoying on defense, but Stonebridge's Wild Thing eventually found his way to win for a 1-0 series lead. The Nighthawks' Peach couldn't find her positioning in game 2, and her frustration led to mistakes later on, which the Wolves' Wild Thing easily capitalized on to earn the win. Wild Thing clinched the series at 2-0. Peach did a better job of making a comeback in game 3, using good positioning to execute a four-ball run-out, which prevented Wild Thing from taking the sweep. Wild Thing settled for a 2-1 series win to get to the second round.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Boots v. Leonardo. Back in 9-ball, two veterans play with the red cue. A balanced game 1 battle sees Diamond's Leonardo make a pair at the end to narrowly escape Pearl's Boots. Leonardo leads the series 1-0. Game 2 was also close as the players exchanged three-ball runs in the middle. The Gems' Leonardo butchered two tries on the 9 before the Surfers' Boots downed in on her second try to tie the series at 1 with her win. Boots had a good share of the early offense in game 3, but she scratched while making the 3, and Leonardo replied on a four-ball run-out for the win after positioning himself well. Leonardo took the series 2-1 and will play in the second round.
Ford Forum, Pronger: Spot v. Caitlin. The red cue stays up for this 8-ball series. Southridge's Caitlin prevailed in a back-and-forth battle in game 1, just poking in the last two shots after Pronger's Spot missed on the 8. Caitlin owns a 1-0 series lead after the exciting game. Game 2 was similar in style, as the Tridents' Spot held a late lead but couldn't solve a shot on the 8. The Defenders' Caitlin made a good push to grab the win, clinching the series at 2-0 with her second close result. Spot finally finished off a game, weathering a four-ball run by Caitlin near the end to walk away with the win when he deposited the 8 at the bottom right. Caitlin still won the series 2-1 to stake her claim to a second round bid.
Nissan Hall, Infinity: Smudge v. Sydney C. A captain meets a rookie as the red cue goes again in 12-ball. Modernistic's Sydney C. got the jump early in game 1, and held on well enough to her lead to defeat Infinity's Smudge with a pair of shots at the right corners. Sydney C. owns a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 went at a fast pace, as the Union's Sydney C. made a five-ball run to start it off, answered by a four-ball run from the Torpedoes' Smudge. Sydney C. wouldn't be denied the win, banking the 12 to the bottom left for the 2-0 series lead. Smudge had a lead in game 3 when she gave away a wild-card ball, and Sydney C. used it with an expert bank to the top right to win the game on her last chance. Sydney C. swept the series 3-0 and will visit Slinks of the Westside Rockers in the second round.
Chevrolet Center, Everton: Goldy v. Easter. Two of the longest tenured captains meet in 13-ball with the red cue. Everton's Goldy had a four-ball run early in game 1, but she never supported it. Todavía's Easter slowly rallied back for the win, making a pair on her final turn to go up 1-0 in the series. The Stills' Easter did sort of the same thing in game 2, but her offense faded on the final ball. The Eagles' Goldy took some time to unravel a messy rack, but she was able to find her way to the win to tie the series at 1. Goldy went off in game 3, pinning Easter in a bad position for much of the game. Easter still came close, but Goldy held her off for the win and 2-1 series win. Goldy will play in the second round.
Apple Center, Todavía: Prism v. Sprinkles. The blue cue is finally back for some 12-ball. Todavía's Prism had a good start in game 1, but couldn't work on her shots at the left corners. Capital City's Sprinkles made four balls over her last two turns for the comeback win to go up 1-0 in the series. The Stills' Prism was better in game 2, although she wasn't clinical. Prism played well enough to get the win as the Sharpshooters' Sprinkles was unable to counterattack at any stage in the game. Prism's win tied the series at 1. Sprinkles received a wild-card ball in game 3, but her soft touch plays didn't work on long shots, and Prism pushed back against the odds to get the win. Prism's 2-1 series win sets her up to visit the Everton Eagles' Goldy in the second round.
Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Max v. Salmo. The red cue takes another turn in 8-ball today with this series. Southern's Salmo had the better of the offense in the middle of game 1. Golden's Max pushed near the end but couldn't get around Salmo's defense, and Salmo made a pair of shots for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Monarchs' Salmo made a four-ball run from the start of game 2, while the Pilots' Max only made a single shot in the whole game. Salmo faced little resistance in this win, clinching the series at 2-0. Max made a much better effort on offense in game 3, and he did just enough to hold off Salmo at the end to avoid the sweep. Salmo takes a 2-1 series win with him to the second round.
Cisco Arena, Tysini: Paps v. Juno. The silver cue closes out the day in this Rotation series. A very even start to game 1 quickly gave when when Tysini's Paps racked up a six-ball run-out for the 8-2 win over Stonebridge's Juno. Paps holds a 1-0 series lead. The game flow repeated itself in game 2, but this time it went in favor of the Wolves' Juno, who made a five-ball run-out to beat the Hummingbirds' Paps by an 8-3 score. This tied the series at 1. Juno would not slow down at the start of game 3, taking a huge lead. Paps got most of it back, but not enough to save his series, as Juno won 8-5 for a 2-1 series win. Juno will advance to the second round.
That's all for today. More is on the way tomorrow in the last cricket/pool overlapping day for awhile.

Tournament 2019 - Round 1 Day 16
We're back to begin the fourth week of the Tournament, starting with...
Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Twinkie I v. Mams. Coastal rivals do battle in 7-ball with the red cue to open the day. Pacific's Twinkie I made four balls on the game 1 break, and then went perfect over the next three shots for the win, easily going up 1-0 on Southern's Mams. The Volcanoes' Twinkie I made three balls on the break in game 2, but her miss on the 3 allowed the Monarchs' Mams to pot a three-ball run-out for the win to tie the series at 1. Twinkie I capitalized on Mams' empty break in game 3, rallying on a seven-ball run-out to grab the win and the 2-1 series win. Twinkie I heads to the second round.
Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Patches v. Sweetheart. The two longest tenured Swifts battle in 8-ball with the red cue. Sweetheart chunked offense more effectively in game 1, while Patches scuffled at the start and never caught up. Sweetheart ended with a three-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. Patches fired back in game 2, a four-ball run as the highlight of her offense. Sweetheart couldn't answer that run, and Patches took the 8 on the next turn for the win to tie the series at 1. Patches began with a six-ball run in game 3, but her last ball was a tough one, and Sweetheart slowly roared back to get the win for a 2-1 series win. Sweetheart will move to the second round.
Intel Center, Diamond: Pedey v. Debby. The blue cue gets a turn now, playing 9-ball. Southridge's Debby did most of the work with a four-ball run in game 1, and then got lucky that Diamond's Pedey scratched right after she did. Debby made the 9 from ball-in-hand for the win and 1-0 lead in the series. The Defenders' Debby had to fight a little harder in game 2, as the Gems' Pedey pushed late with a three-ball run that ended in a miss on the 8. Debby made the last two shots to get the win, clinching the series at 2-0. Debby didn't let up in game 3, making a four-ball run and a pair on consecutive shots to close out a win for a 3-0 sweep against Pedey. Debby's dominant run gets her to the second round.
Toyota Arena, Freedom: Roxy v. Stinky. Another 8-ball series pits Cascades teammates against each other, using the blue cue. Stinky had a lot of the early offense in game 1, but Roxy pushed back with a six-ball run near the end. She played patient from there, and it worked, as she won the game for a 1-0 series lead. Stinky went off in game 2 in response, slow at first and then exploding with an eight-ball run-out, including a tough bank on the 11 to the top side to set up his finisher on the 8. Roxy had no chance to answer as Stinky tied the series at 1. Game 3 was an energetic battle of offense, where Roxy started on a six-ball run, Stinky found a five-ball run in response, and Roxy then put it away with a firm shot on the 8 for the 2-1 series win. Roxy will play in round two.
IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Luigi v. Cubby. More 8-ball is up next, with the red cue back in action now. Eastside's Cubby found a three-ball run to catch up at the end of a tough game 1 battle, but North Modernistic's Luigi was able to poke the 8 in just in time after Cubby missed it. Luigi leads the series at 1-0. The Nighthawks' Luigi had a slow start in game 2, but the Sharks' Cubby didn't apply pressure at all. Luigi made a five-ball run and a three-ball run-out on consecutive turns for the win to seal the series at 2-0. Cubby had a six-ball run in game 3, but he couldn't solve Luigi's defense from there, never even getting onto the 8. Luigi won on a three-ball run-out to sweep the series 3-0. Luigi will move on to the second round.
Cisco Arena, Tysini: Paps v. Sugar. The red cue stays in action for 13-ball between veterans. Tysini's Paps benefited late in game 1 as Swordpoint's Sugar made a positioning mistake. Paps soon had a chance for a three-ball run-out which he converted to win for a 1-0 series lead. The Hummingbirds' Paps was more effective in game 2, attacking directly instead of the slow positioning play the Blades' Sugar never had a chance to execute. Paps' fast attack clinched the series for him at 2-0. Sugar showed very well in game 3, with Paps attacking first but struggling after making five balls. Sugar replied on a six-ball run-out to get the win after some excellent positioning. Paps took the series 2-1 to get to the second round.
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Pauline v. Klaus. Two promising players collide in 8-ball with the blue cue. Capital City's Pauline made a five-ball run early in game 1, and while Atlantic's Klaus closed in at the end, Pauline weaseled away with a three-ball run-out to earn the 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Klaus had the lead for much of game 2, but he couldn't finish it off, and the Sharpshooters' Pauline pushed with a three-ball run-out to snag the win. Pauline clinched the series at 2-0. Klaus nearly gave away game 3 multiple times, including when he potted Pauline's last ball, but Pauline chipped her shot on the 8. Klaus made the last two shots to escape with the win. Pauline still won the series 2-1 to get to round two.
Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Patches v. Klaus. Two players on their second series today meet in 15-ball with the silver cue. Boston's Patches had a poor break in game 1, but it worked to her benefit, as she made the 6-14-15 banked combination to the top right out of the remnants of the cluster she left that Atlantic's Klaus never dealt with. Patches leads the series 1-0. The Pirates' Klaus looked better in game 2, especially near the end with his four-ball run, but he flubbed the 14, and the Swifts' Patches made the last two shots to win. Patches clinched the series at 2-0 with this victory. Patches dominated with a three-ball run to start game 3 and then a six-ball run-out, capped by a 10-11-15 bank combination to the bottom side that saw the 10 fall in the top right for the double-pot. Patches swept Klaus 3-0 to move into the second round.
Audi Hall, Terrace City: Kiwi v. Jack. The silver cue stays on for 7-ball here in the Black-and-Orange Derby. Terrace City's Kiwi scratched as she made a ball on the break, and she never really found a groove, as Web City's Jack would take the win on a three-ball run-out. Jack leads the series 1-0. The Spiders' Jack scratched on the break in game 2, kicking off what would be a sloppy but even game, which saw the Knights' Kiwi pick up the win with a pair of shots at the end. Kiwi tied the series at 1. Kiwi had a productive outing with three balls on the break and then a four-ball run-out when Jack missed his only shot in game 3. Kiwi took the series 2-1 in a comeback to advance to the second round.
Starbucks Arena, Sleepy B. v. Misty. Two veterans deeply rooted on their teams battle in Accuracy with the silver cue. Archtown's Sleepy B. had a lead for most of game 1 before slipping up late in regulation. Westside's Misty made two balls on the overtime break, but missed on her second turn, and Sleepy B. won 2-3 for a 1-0 series lead. The Arrows' Sleepy B. took game 2 by the same 2-3 score, but this time finished up in regulation as the Rockers' Misty stumbled on a late shot to fall out of the tie. Sleepy B. sealed the series at 2-0 with the win. Sleepy B. refused to miss in game 3, playing a perfect 0-3 win to knock off Misty in a 3-0 series sweep. Sleepy B. is off to the second round.
Apple Center, Todavía: Bells v. Ms. Kitty. Original veterans and longtime Coastal rivals meet in 10-ball with the silver cue. Todavía's Bells had a productive game 1, winning on a three-ball run-out by deflecting her shot off the 9 to bump the 10 to the top right as Pacific's Ms. Kitty could only watch. Bells leads the series 1-0. The Volcanoes' Ms. Kitty had a four-ball run end in a scratch in game 2, opening the door for the Stills' Bells to pot a pair of shots for the win, clinching the series at 2-0. Ms. Kitty made use of some of Bells' misses in game 3, and Ms. Kitty wound up with the win on a three-ball run-out. Bells still won the series 2-1 to get into the second round.
Sony Center, Queens: Hannah v. Mr. Snowman. The red cue is back for a Rotation series. Queens' Hannah made a pair of balls on the break in game 1, but her offense went cold soon after. Infinity's Mr. Snowman evened the game quickly and walked away with an 8-3 win to go up 1-0 in the series. Game 2 played out much more evenly, with the Flames' Hannah emerging with an 8-5 win after the Torpedoes' Mr. Snowman peaked on a short run. Hannah tied the series at 1 with her win. Game 3 was also pretty close at first, but Mr. Snowman was reduced to contact shots after a scratch late, and Hannah stormed by to win 8-4. Hannah took the series 2-1 and will meet the Southridge Defenders' Stephanie in the second round.
Ford Forum, Pronger: Potter v. Vincent. The silver cue tags in for a 9-ball series. Pronger's Potter struck quickly in game 1 with a 2-9 combination to the top right for the win, stunning Tysini's Vincent as Potter went ahead 1-0 in the series. The Tridents' Potter started with a three-ball run in game 2, which the Hummingbirds' Vincent answered with a pair of shots. Potter then won on the second turn with a four-ball run-out to secure the series at 2-0. Vincent finally got his win in game 3, poking in a pair of shots after Potter had a scratch derail his efforts late. Potter claimed the series 2-1 and will head to the second round.
GE Stadium Events Center, Southridge: Debby v. Watermelon. The blue cue closes the day in Rotation. Pearl's Watermelon got off to a nice start with a four-ball run in game 1, and Southridge's Debby never covered it. Watermelon pushed at the end to win 8-3, taking the 1-0 series lead. The Surfers' Watermelon kept it up in game 2 with a three-ball run at the start. The Defenders' Debby flubbed a couple of shots, wasting chances to pressure her visitor, and Watermelon walked away with an 8-1 win to clinch the series at 2-0. Watermelon was even better to start game 3, making a five-ball run to spearhead her 8-1 win for the 3-0 series sweep of Debby. Watermelon showed dominance to make it to the second round.
That'll be all for today. Tomorrow should look much the same.

Tournament 2019 - Round 1 Day 15
Tournament play on Day 15 starts very late, and may spill over into the weekend if necessary. First up...
Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Blizzard v. Fluffina. The red cue is in hand for 15-ball in today's first series. Infinity's Fluffina made a nice five-ball run in game 1, but she couldn't keep it going, and Harrison's Blizzard answered on a four-ball run-out to nab the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Torpedoes' Fluffina again had plenty of offense in game 2, but she couldn't make it work at the end, as the Specters' Blizzard capitalized on Fluffina's miss on the 15. Blizzard took the series 2-0 with the late win. Fluffina took an early win in game 3, as Blizzard wedged the 3 and 15 together at the bottom right. Fluffina tapped them in on the same shot for the victory. Blizzard won the series 2-1 and will head to the second round.
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Salmo v. Fluffina. The red cue stays up as the visitor does a road doubleheader ending with 7-ball. Infinity's Fluffina found her way with a four-ball run-out in game 1, after Southern's Salmo started well but couldn't find a second attack. Fluffina owns a 1-0 series lead. The Torpedoes' Fluffina kept it going with a quick game 2 win, taking a three-ball run-out on her second turn after the Monarchs' Salmo failed to bank the 4 to the top right. Fluffina's win sealed the series for her at 2-0. Fluffina kept it going with a pair of three-ball runs in game 3, dominating the final battle to sweep Salmo 3-0 for the series. Fluffina is headed to the second round.
Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Ice Cream v. Andrew. A veteran and a rookie meet in 8-ball with the silver cue. Boston's Ice Cream poked a pair in on the break in game 1, and added a four-ball run later. She went right through the defense from Central's Andrew to make the 8, as Ice Cream pushed her way to a 1-0 series lead. The Swifts' Ice Cream couldn't get her offense settled in game 2, scratching on the break and never finding a run. The Warriors' Andrew did a four-ball run and followed it up at the end to get the win, tying the series at 1. Ice Cream got lucky in game 3, as Andrew illegally potted the 8 on his third shot of the game, gifting the win and the 2-1 series win to the host. Ice Cream will advance to the second round.
Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Puff II v. Kayla. The venue doubleheader ends with the silver cue in 7-ball. Boston's Puff II made it too simple for Royal's Kayla in game 1, leaving the 1-7 combination lined up for the visitor to convert to the bottom right for the 1-0 series lead. The Crowns' Kayla returned the favor by scratching on the break in game 2, allowing the Swifts' Puff II to make the 1 and then deflect a shot off the 2 to pot the 7 at the bottom right. This tied the series at 1. Kayla had more of the offense in game 3, but she missed a late shot on the 7, and Puff II converted it for the win to take the series 2-1. Puff II sneaks into the second round.
Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Spirit v. Ice Cream. The Cola Wars Derby is renewed in Accuracy with the silver cue. Lighton's Spirit tried to stay in game 1, but a scratch on the break and near-perfect play by Boston's Ice Cream didn't help her. Ice Cream won 1-2 and will take a 1-0 series lead. The Swifts' Ice Cream faltered early in game 2, and the Prestige's Spirit gladly flipped the script from the first game. She played perfectly until late in the game, doing enough to win 1-2. Spirit's win tied the series at 1. Game 3 was as even as the first two games, with Spirit playing defense late only for Ice Cream to convert anyway to force overtime. There, Spirit made a ball on the break and Ice Cream missed a cut. Spirit won the game 2-3 and the series 2-1 to get into the second round.
Gillette Center, Swordpoint: Dreamy v. Paps. A shortened Friday segment ends with the silver cue playing 10-ball. Swordpoint's Dreamy started and ended game 1 with four-ball runs, the latter coming after Tysini's Paps scratched in the middle of the game. Dreamy took the series lead at 1-0 in this Southwestern Derby. The Blades' Dreamy had some offense in game 2, but the Hummingbirds' Paps won with a three-ball run-out, ending with a 6-10 combination to the top right to tie the series at 1 with his win. Paps picked up the win in game 3, as Dreamy was unable to corral the 10 despite multiple chances. Paps took the series 2-1 and will play in the second round.
Sony Center, Queens: Mario v. Waluigi. The silver cue keeps going when play resumes between club-mates in 13-ball on Saturday. Queens' Mario had a solid attack in game 1, but it was Web City's Waluigi trying to make something out of nothing and failing by potting the 8 early that decided the game. Mario leads the series 1-0 with the gifted win. The Flames' Mario took game 2 handily, making two balls on the break and finish with four balls over the last two turns, as the Spiders' Waluigi put up a flimsy defense despite not making a single ball. Mario clinched the series at 2-0. Waluigi had a quick attack early in game 3, which Mario answered with a five-ball run, but Waluigi shot back on a three-ball run-out for the win. Mario still took the series 2-1 to get to the second round.
Gillette Center, Swordpoint: Snowball v. Cheddar. The blue cue is in for Rotation. Swordpoint's Snowball began with a three-ball run, and while the rest of the game was a tough battle, Snowball bested North Modernistic's Cheddar 8-4 for the 1-0 series lead. Game 2 went back and forth, with the Blades' Snowball leading early, the Nighthawks' Cheddar rallying ahead in the middle, and Snowball counterattacking for the 8-6 win to clinch the series at 2-0. Game 3 was a bit less chaotic on offense, but it still saw Snowball prevail by an 8-6 score with a pair of shots at the end to respond to a push from Cheddar. Snowball swept the series 3-0, and will play in the second round.
Amazon Field Exhibition Hall, Golden: Sparkles v. Chelsea. After a break, the red cue is on for some 12-ball. Game 1 was a close battle for both players, which saw them exchange wild-card balls near the end. Golden's Sparkles regretted hers more, as it opened up Eastside's Chelsea for a pair of shots to win the game. Chelsea leads the series 1-0. The Pilots' Sparkles had two obvious mistakes in game 2, giving up a wild-card ball and then taking a scratch on her final ball. The Sharks' Chelsea picked up a pair from the kitchen at the end, taking the win to seal the series at 2-0. Sparkles finally nabbed a win in game 3 despite giving Chelsea a late wild-card ball, as Chelsea was not in a position to attack. Sparkles was able to finish with a pair of shots, leaving Chelsea with the 2-1 series win. Chelsea will visit Shadow of the Diamond Gems in the second round.
AT&T Hall, Oceanside: Jason V. v. Bear. The red cue remains in action for this 10-ball series. Oceanside's Jason V. had to battle with Everton's Bear at first, but Jason V. pulled away with a five-ball run-out at the end to go ahead 1-0 in the series with his win. The Waves' Jason V. managed a four-ball run early in game 2 and added a five-ball run after that, but he missed a cut on the 10. The Eagles' Bear took the 10 himself, poaching the win to tie the series at 1. Bear had his moments on offense, including a three-ball run in game 3, but a mixed finish left the 10 for Jason V. at the top side, and he converted to win the series 2-1. Jason V. heads to round two.
Apple Center, Todavía: Prism v. Jason N. The silver cue cycles back into action for this Rotation series. Todavía's Prism made three balls on the game 1 break, but she struggled for offense from there, and Atlantic's Jason N. rallied ahead. Jason N. would win 8-4 in the end for a 1-0 series lead. The Pirates' Jason N. struck on the break in game 2, but the Stills' Prism pulled ahead on a three-ball run. Prism kept going later on, and while Jason N. caught up briefly, Prism made a pair of shots to end her win at 8-6, tying the series at 1. Prism fell behind initially in game 3, but rallied back on a six-ball run-out, storming her way to the 8-4 win to secure the series at 2-1 for herself. Prism's comeback sends her to the second round.
Nike Field Events Center, Commerce: Taylor S. v. Klaus. Accuracy is next on the schedule, using the red cue for this series. Commerce's Taylor S. started off well in game 1, but Atlantic's Klaus refused to budge, going perfect in a 0-2 win to take the 1-0 series lead. The Tradewinds' Taylor S. did pretty well in game 2, holding a lead from early on after the Pirates' Klaus missed. Taylor S. briefly fell into a tie but came out with the win by a 1-3 score, which tied the series at 1. Taylor S. had a rough start in game 3, and while Klaus did better at first, he nearly fell behind at the end. Klaus just held on for a 5-6 win, taking the series 2-1 in the process as he moves on to the second round.
Subway Arena, Stonebridge: Juno v. Cleo. New club-mates clash in 7-ball with the silver cue. Stonebridge's Juno began on a four-ball run in game 1, and then managed to scrape out the win at the end for a 1-0 series lead over Everton's Cleo. The Wolves' Juno was far less clinical in game 2, making a brutal error at the end that allowed the Eagles' Cleo to finish up a win with a three-ball run-out. In game 3, Juno still couldn't sort out her issues, and her weak play late allowed Cleo to take another three-ball run-out for the win and the 2-1 series win. Cleo will play in the second round.
Coca-Cola Field Exhibition Center, Boston: Puff II v. Cheddar. Two vengeful veterans go at it in 8-ball with the blue cue to end the split-day's second session. Boston's Puff II had a five-ball run to counter a four-ball run from North Modernistic's Cheddar, but Puff II left the 8 standing, and Cheddar made it on the next turn for the win to take a 1-0 series lead. The Swifts' Puff II bounced back in game 2 with a pair of three-ball runs, only one of which was answered by the Nighthawks' Cheddar. Puff II then made a pair of shots at the end for the win to tie the series at 1. Puff II was strong from the start of game 3, taking a five-ball run to pressure Cheddar, who never really found her shot this time. Puff II won the game and the 2-1 series, moving to the second round.
We're done with pool for the third week of the Tournament. Play resumes Monday.

Elite Cricket 2019 - Week 14
Elite takes its turn at the final week before the second United Cup break, beginning with...
Nike Field, Commerce: Solaris will rest for the Tradewinds in this week's opening game, while the visiting Cascades put Stripes on the sidelines. Jasmine lifted 569 for Freedom on the opening turn, giving them a positive start. Tigerette replied with 656 for Commerce before backhanding her wicket down, giving the hosts a narrow lead. Roxy managed 312 for the Cascades, covering the deficit a bit lightly. Taylor S. countered with 595 for the Tradewinds, restoring a stronger lead for them at the midway mark. Nikolai didn't get much back with 195 for Freedom, keeping them at a deficit. Niki posted 445 for Commerce to boost their lead again. Stinky completely missed on a swing, his 80 points confirming a loss for the Cascades at 1156. Rosemary went with 506 to cap the Tradewinds' win at 2202. Commerce jumps to 16-10, while Freedom is 11-11, although they remain comfortably above the relegation line.
Verizon Field, Pacific: The Volcanoes begin a doubleheader with Cowzart taking the bench, and the Tridents will answer with Spot sitting out. Precious went off with 829 at the start for Pronger, establishing quite the lead for the visitors. Starlight cut about half of the deficit away with 426 for Pacific, trying to keep them in the game. Zach replied with 420 for the Tridents to maintain their lead effectively. Ms. Kitty made a gain with 625 for the Volcanoes, but they've still got some work to do in the second half of the game. Potter covered that damage with 629 for Pronger, keeping the hosts at bay pretty well. Twinkie I had only 160 for Pacific, a devastatingly low effort that may crush their comeback hopes. Lize tapped 339 for the Tridents at the end, ending their attack at 2217 in what should be a win. Leonette's rally with 425 fell short for the Volcanoes, leaving them at 1636 in the loss. Pronger rises to 16-7, while Pacific dips to 16-12.
Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: Closing out their doubleheader, the Volcanoes sit Twinkie I for performance, and Shiny will rest for the Prestige. Starlight slipped with a high hit at 227 for Pacific, giving them a poor start to the game. Acorn had just 96 for Lighton, putting them behind after the first turn. Ms. Kitty lacked pace for the Volcanoes, her 324 making a mild addition to their lead. Citrus kept the deficit steady with 309 for the Prestige, and it's still either team's game at this point. Leonette took a tumble with 162 for Pacific, leaving the door open for the hosts to walk through. Spirit was unable to pressure that mistake from the visitors, her 96 likely assuring Lighton of an embarrassing loss. Cowzart collected 764 for the Volcanoes, capping their offense at 1477. Nicole took only 291 for the Prestige, who officially lost with 792 in their worst game of the year. Pacific bounces back to 17-12, while Lighton sinks to 10-18.
Apple Park, Todavía: The Stills are without their captain Easter for this match, while Bianca takes this game off for the Defenders. Debby managed 345 from the lead-off position for Southridge, a decent but unimpressive start for the visitors. Todavía countered with 824 from Ruby on their opening turn, establishing quite the large lead. Stephanie fired back with 906 for the Defenders, showing a bit of bite to get them ahead again. Sierra's 405 wasn't enough for the Stills to cover the deficit, but it keeps things close at the halfway point. Wario muscled up for 624 for Southridge, padding their lead with the strong outing. Bells couldn't keep up with 429 for Todavía, causing the hosts to slip noticeably behind with a player each to go. Caitlin made a quick exit with just 150 for the Defenders, leaving them vulnerable at 2025 overall. Prism closed with 345 for the Stills, capping their offense at 2003, coming up narrowly short. Southridge survives a tough game to get to 6-19, while Todavía is now 9-19.
Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: In the first of their two meetings this week, Melissa is out for the Knights while Lize rotates out of the Tridents' lineup. Precious slapped 859 for Pronger in a pacey turn. Kiwi picked up 501 for Terrace City to mitigate some of the damage done against her team. Spot had the pace for a good turn, but fell at 270 for the Tridents to destabilize their lead. Jennifer made only a small gain with 305 for the Knights, unable to pressure their weak point. Zach ripped 555 for Pronger on his turn, rebuilding their lead after the scare on the previous turn. Oreo dropped off at 281 for Terrace City, making a comeback unlikely for the hosts this late in the game. Potter served up 590 for the Tridents at the end, closing their attack at 2274. Quincy took 292 for the Knights at the end, sealing their loss at 1379. Pronger goes to 15-7, while Terrace City falls to 16-15.
Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: The Stills begin a quick Southeastern road trip with Prism out of the lineup, while the host Crowns sit Cassie for regular rest. Ruby continued to play well with 744 for Todavía to start the game. Kayla hauled in 419 for Royal to offset some of the damage for the hosts. Sierra only produced 185 for the Stills on the second attack, weakening their lead with the poor turn. Jake rallied with 521 for the Crowns, pulling them ahead narrowly at the midway mark. Bells pushed back with 639 for Todavía, rallying them ahead again by a large margin. Nightfur had an awkward swing that downed her at a measly 32 points, ruining Royal's offense in the process. Easter returned to action with 414 for the Stills, sealing their offense at 1979. Brownie had good pace but fell with 314 as the Crowns take a loss on 1286 overall. Todavía is 10-19, while Royal is down to 8-23.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: The Tridents begin a doubleheader on the coast, resting Precious while the host Surfers sit Boots for some rest. Spot started with 509 for Pronger from the lead-off position. Watermelon chopped 475 for Pearl on the opening turn, trying to mitigate the damage early on. Queens rises again to 18-11, while Todavía is 10-20.

Bells was unable to catch up for the Stills, her 321 causing them to lose a little more ground. Twinkie I couldn't break her slump with 240 for Pacific, weakening their lead again. Easter made a small gain with 279 for Todavía, as offense is escaping both teams late in the game. Cowzart got the Volcanoes flying again with 621, icing their offense at 2030.
Lize produced 537 to set the Tridents' final score at 1859. Beth lost her edge at the end with 200 for the Surfers, leaving them in a loss at 1593. Pronger rises again to 16-7, while Pearl drops to 16-10.
Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: Back home, the Tridents finish a doubleheader with Zach out, while the visiting Flames start a doubleheader of their own resting a slumping Violetta. Crystal belted 969 from the start for Queens, establishing a significant lead early on. Precious replied with 538 for Pronger, but she lost the battle between the captains. Tournament 2019 - Round 1 Day 14
Another day of pool action is here, beginning with...
Ford Forum, Pronger: Precious v. Leonette. The first series of the day is in 15-ball with the red cue. Game 1 started poorly on both sides, until Pacific's Leonette found a four-ball run. She would get too loose late in the game, and Pronger's Precious made the last two shots for the win and a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 went more smoothly, especially for the Volcanoes' Leonette, who rattled off a five-ball run-out capped by a 7-15 combination to the bottom side to tie the series at 1, much to the chagrin of the Tridents' Precious. Leonette finished early again in game 3, making a deflection off the 7 to pot the 15 at the top right to close a four-ball run-out. Leonette defeated Precious 2-1 for the series, earning a spot in the second round.
McDonald's Hall, Atlantic: Jason N. v. Sarah. The silver cue takes a turn for 13-ball between these young players. Atlantic's Jason N. didn't have the edge in game 1, but when Tysini's Sarah went for a cluster-buster shot, she illegally potted the 8, gifting the win and 1-0 series lead to Jason N. anyway. Game 2 was filled with scratches, which slowed the Pirates' Jason N. in particular. The Hummingbirds' Sarah squandered a couple of chances to catch up with her own scratches, but she got the win when Jason N.'s kick on the 8 resulted in a scratch. This tied the series at 1. Sarah was able to regroup a bit in game 3 despite a plethora of scratches on both sides. She made a pair of shots at the end for the win to put Jason N. away in a sloppy 2-1 series win. Sarah will play in the second round.
IBM Cathedral, North Modernistic: Cheddar v. Dani. Two veterans go at it in Accuracy with the silver cue. North Modernistic's Cheddar only had one mistake, a scratch, in game 1, taking a confident 1-3 win over Viewpoint Sound's Dani for the 1-0 series lead. The Meteors' Dani didn't stay down for long, playing perfectly in game 2 to take a 0-3 win over the Nighthawks' Cheddar, who kept pace for awhile but never stood a chance. Dani's win tied the series at 1. In game 3, the two players kept it close for most of the game, until Dani made a late defensive play. It worked, as Cheddar missed her last two shots and Dani won 2-4 to take the series 2-1. Dani advances to round two.
Kraft Forum, Royal: Cassie v. Stinky. The red cue returns in this series of 10-ball. Luck was not with Royal's Cassie in game 1, as she sent the cue off the table on the break and missed the 2-10 combination on her next turn. Freedom's Stinky double-potted that combination to the top right to earn the win for a 1-0 series lead. Game 2 was much more normal, with the Cascades' Stinky pushing early but falling when the Crowns' Cassie made the final pair of shots for a win to tie the series at 1. Cassie had a surge of offense late in game 3 with five balls over her last two turns, but a scratch as she went for the 10 allowed Stinky to take the game and the series 2-1 from ball-in-hand. Stinky will move on to the second round.
Starbucks Arena, Archtown: A. Charlton v. Dusty. The host takes on a former teammate in 8-ball with the silver cue. Archtown's Charlton fell apart in game 1 with four scratches, and while Golden's Dusty was far from good, she had enough time to get the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Pilots' Dusty brought her best play in game 2 with an early six-ball run, and she made the last two shots in fairly short order to defeat the Arrows' Charlton, securing the series at 2-0. Charlton had some chances to finish quickly in game 3, but she missed her shots and Dusty rallied back for the win to sweep the series 3-0. Dusty has a lot of momentum heading into the second round.
Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Cowzart v. Blizzard. More 8-ball follows, with the red cue in hand this time. Harrison's Blizzard began on a four-ball run in game 1, but Pacific's Cowzart answered with a six-ball run and held on to get the win for a 1-0 series lead. The Eagles' Blizzard had no trouble continuing her early offense in game 2, but she kept a steady hand this time, and the Volcanoes' Cowzart couldn't keep pace. Blizzard took a long shot at the 8 to the bottom left for the win, tying the series at 1. Blizzard opened with a five-ball run in game 3, but Cowzart fired back on a four-ball run. Cowzart was more effective in the end, getting ahead and taking the 8 to the bottom right for the win to seal a 2-1 series win. Cowzart heads to the second round.
Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Acorn v. Twinkie II. A captains' battle is set for 10-ball with the silver cue. Lighton's Acorn had a strong game 1, but he scratched after a three-ball run. Harrison's Twinkie II looked set to pick up the win, but then she missed on the 10. Acorn converted it for the win to take a 1-0 series lead. Offense came quickly in game 2, with the Specters' Twinkie II managing a three-ball run before the Prestige's Acorn closed out the win with a five-ball run-out that he made look easy. Acorn clinched the series at 2-0. Game 3 kept a similar pace, with Twinkie II seeing a three-ball run end on a scratch that allowed Acorn to win with a three-ball run-out from ball-in-hand. Acorn took the series in a 3-0 sweep to get to the second round.
Cisco Arena, Tysini: Vincent v. Dani. A pair of former teammates meet in 13-ball with the blue cue. Tysini's Vincent got a ball on the break in game 1 and worked from there, earning a four-ball run later and using good positioning to quickly overwhelm Viewpoint Sound's Dani. Vincent won with a pair of shots at the end for a 1-0 lead in the series. The Hummingbirds' Vincent made a four-ball run after the Meteors' Dani got caught on a stick foul in game 2. Vincent then made the 8 on the next turn after some positional wizardry. Vincent secured the series at 2-0 with this win. Vincent made a solid on the game 3 break, but he illegally potted the 8 on the next shot to gift a win to Dani. Vincent's 2-1 series win puts him in the second round.
Ford Forum, Pronger: Precious v. Bianca. A captain and a rising star collide in Accuracy with the red cue. Pronger's Precious held her ground well enough in game 1 despite a sloppy start, fending off Southridge's Bianca for a 2-4 win and a 1-0 series lead. The Tridents' Precious had two balls on the break in game 2, which came back to bite her at the end, as the Defenders' Bianca took advantage of the shorter game. Bianca would reverse the game 1 scoreline of 2-4 for her win, tying the series at 1. Bianca did the same thing at the start of game 3, making two balls on the break, and she would pay for it after a really strong start on both sides. Precious grabbed the held the lead late, scratching on the final shot to make it a 3-4 game in her favor. Precious took the series 2-1, narrowly escaping to round two.
Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Shiny v. Katelynn. The red cue administers a 10-ball series between players involved in the offseason's biggest trade. Lighton's Shiny started on a three-ball run, while Diamond's Katelynn answered on a five-ball run. Shiny then swooped in for the win with a pair at the end of game 1, giving the host a 1-0 series lead. The Prestige's Shiny did everything but win game 2, making a five-ball run and a four-ball run before missing on the 10. The Gems' Katelynn gladly poached the win to stay alive for now, tying the series at 1. Shiny had a wretched game 3, scratching on her first turn and setting up Katelynn's 4-10 combination on the next turn. Katelynn converted the play for the win and 2-1 series win, showing her old team what they're missing as she heads to the second round.
Apple Center, Todavía: Ruby v. Sage. An experienced veteran meets an old sophomore in 7-ball with the silver cue. Victoria's Sage had a stunning two-shot win in game 1, making the 1 fairly easily and then kicking the 2-7 combination through traffic to the bottom right to go up 1-0 over a stunned Ruby of Todavía. The Spurs' Sage had a three-ball run to start game 2, but the Stills' Ruby answered on a sharp three-ball run-out for the win, tying the series at 1. Sage never had a chance in game 3, as Ruby made the 3 in the top right, the 5 in the bottom right, and the 7 in the bottom left on the break for the instant win. Ruby took the series 2-1 and will move into the second round.
Gillette Center, Swordpoint: Dreamy v. Quincy. Another 7-ball series with the silver cue is next. Swordpoint's Dreamy had no trouble in game 1, making most of her shots while Terrace City's Quincy simply poked a couple of misses around. Dreamy leads the series 1-0. The Blades' Dreamy appeared to have game 2 under control at first, but she got very sloppy, and the Knights' Quincy plucked the win with his third try on the 7, tying the series at 1 game apiece. Dreamy picked up her offense again in game 3, burying a four-ball run before missing on the 7. Quincy tried to cut it, but he scratched, and Dreamy tapped it in on her second try for the win and a 2-1 series win. Dreamy is off to the second round.
Chevrolet Center, Everton: Goldy v. Dominic. The blue cue cycles in for the third straight 7-ball series. Everton's Goldy kept Southern's Dominic from the table in game 1, as Goldy ran the table with two balls on the break and five shots after that for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Eagles' Goldy couldn't dominate in game 2, allowing the Monarchs' Dominic to chip possession away in short bursts. Dominic would walk away with the win this time, tying the series at 1 with the final pair of balls. Goldy had a three-ball run early in game 3, but Dominic immediately answered on a four-ball run-out for the win, completing the comeback for a 2-1 series win. Dominic is set to play in the second round.
UPS Hall, Maplewood: Gabe v. Sleepy B. Day 14 ends with a Northeastern Derby in 8-ball with the red cue. Maplewood's Gabe started with a decent run in game 1, but Archtown's Sleepy B. answered on a five-ball run which ended with a scratch. Sleepy B. bounced back fast, winning with a three-ball run-out for the 1-0 series lead. The Arrows' Sleepy B. maintained a solid pace in game 2, and while the Lumberjacks' Gabe had his moments on offense, Sleepy B. was steady enough to win again, sealing the series at 2-0. Gabe salvaged game 3 after Sleepy B. couldn't put the 8 away on her only chance. Gabe made a pair of shots for the win, while Sleepy B. took the series 2-1 to get into the second round.
That's all for today's games. We'll be back to wrap up the third week of pool tomorrow.

Tournament 2019 - Round 1 Day 13
We're approaching the quarter mark of the first round, with today's action beginning at...
Pepsi Arena, Lighton: Shiny v. Celestia. The red cue will get first dibs on today's action with a 15-ball series. Lighton's Shiny struggled to generate consistent offense in game 1, and her miss on the 14 allowed Oceanside's Celestia to take the win with a pair of late shots. Celestia leads 1-0 in the series after the back-and-forth game. The Prestige's Shiny found a four-ball run late in game 2 after another choppy battle, but she scratched on the 13. The Waves' Celestia had a chance to win from ball-in-hand, but chipped the shot on the 15 wide, and Shiny cleaned it up for the win to tie the series at 1. Celestia did pretty well in game 3 early on, but it got close at the end. Shiny ultimately lost when she missed on the 14, as Celestia made a pair of shots for the win and 2-1 series win to get to the second round.
Cisco Arena, Tysini: Paps v. Shelley. Club-mates clash in 9-ball with the silver cue for the second series of the day. Tysini's Paps led the way on offense in game 1 of this Southwestern Derby, but he struggled after the 6, and Infinity's Shelley would take the win and a 1-0 series lead on a three-ball run-out. The Torpedoes' Shelley kept the momentum going in game 2, but she couldn't sustain it throughout, scratching as she potted the 8. The Hummingbirds' Paps made no mistakes on the 9, burying it to the top side to tie the series at 1. Game 3 remained close, with Paps working a three-ball run before missing a bank on the 9. Shelley then whiffed her cut on the 9, and Paps made it on his second try to take the series 2-1. Paps will advance to the second round.
Mercedes-Benz Forum, Harrison: Twinkie II v. Bear. Club-mates and Northeastern rivals meet for 8-ball with the silver cue. Harrison's Twinkie II had the lead from the start of game 1, and a couple of scratches for Everton's Bear didn't do him any favors. Twinkie II walked away with a 1-0 series lead with a fairly easy win. The Eagles' Bear turned the tables in game 2, using a pair of three-ball runs to pace his attack. The latter of those runs game him the win over the Specters' Twinkie II, tying the series at 1. Twinkie II had a good chunk of offense early in game 3, but Bear made six shots over his last two turns to snag the win for a 2-1 series win. Bear will head to the second round.
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Salmo v. Bandit. The silver cue stays on for this 10-ball series. Swordpoint's Bandit failed on a jump attempt in game 1, leading to a four-ball run for Southern's Salmo, who would take the 10 on his second try after Bandit missed that as well. Salmo leads the series 1-0. The Monarchs' Salmo had some strategic play in game 2, but it didn't pay off as the Blades' Bandit rallied with a three-ball run-out to take the win, tying the series at 1. Salmo had a five-ball run and a three-ball run on consecutive turns around a scratch by Bandit, but Salmo missed on the 10, and Bandit put it away for the cheap win. Bandit took the series 2-1 to advance to round two.
T-Mobile Center, Victoria: Yekaterina v. Easter. The blue cue gets its first series today in 7-ball. Victoria's Yekaterina had a scratch in the middle of game 1, which was better timing than Todavía's Easter, who scratched while cutting the 7 in to the top right. Yekaterina takes the gifted win for a 1-0 series lead. The Spurs' Yekaterina paced the attack in game 2 early on, but she slipped on the 6, missing it twice. The Stills' Easter took advantage by making the last two shots for the win to tie the series at 1. Yekaterina capitalized on Easter's early scratch in game 3, making the 1 and then using a decoy shot on the 2 to bump the 7 to the top right for the win. Yekaterina claimed the series at 2-1 to get to the second round.
Nissan Hall, Infinity: Fluffina v. Katelynn. The blue cue goes again with this series of 13-ball between veterans. Diamond's Katelynn had the better early offense, but Infinity's Fluffina took time to position herself. The long play worked, as Katelynn committed an error and Fluffina rattled off a three-ball run-out for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Torpedoes' Fluffina didn't have as thoughtful an effort in game 2, and she had no plan for defense when the Gems' Katelynn got onto the 8. Katelynn waited for a clean look before putting the 8 in the top left for the win, which tied the series at 1. Fluffina stormed forward with a four-ball run on her first turn, and it wasn't long before she made a three-ball run-out after a scratch by Katelynn. Fluffina won the series 2-1 and will head to the second round.
Verizon Field Events Center, Pacific: Cowzart v. Leonardo. Players on new teams clash in Rotation with the silver cue. Pacific's Cowzart had a strong start despite Diamond's Leonardo potting two balls early. Cowzart overcame that on a three-ball run, and would win 8-3 in the end for a 1-0 series lead. The Volcanoes' Cowzart took the lead in a choppy game 2, but he would later stall out. The Gems' Leonardo pulled ahead with a four-ball run before a weak spot, and then he made another pair for the 8-5 win to tie the series at 1. Cowzart started well again in game 3, evoking the memory of the opening game, but Leonardo had a chance to tie the game with a double-pot that ended in him scratching. Cowzart escaped the moment of danger with an 8-5 win to clinch the series at 2-1. Cowzart will visit the Capital City Sharpshooters' Pauline in the second round.
Audi Hall, Terrace City: Melissa v. Wings. The blue cue is back in action for this 10-ball series. Terrace City's Melissa drained three balls on the break as part of a five-ball run, and she won on the second turn with a 7-10 combination to the bottom right after Central's Wings couldn't convert the same shot. Melissa leads the series 1-0. The Knights' Melissa went with a five-ball run to answer an early three-ball run by the Warriors' Wings in game 2. Melissa had a chance to close it out on the 10, but she missed, and Wings put it away at the top right to tie the series at 1. Wings potted the 10 early twice in game 3, but both were uncalled plays. He had a six-ball run in the middle of that, but it was Melissa's pair of shots at the end that took the win. Melissa won the series 2-1 to get to round two.
Starbucks Arena, Archtown: Sally v. Celestia. More 10-ball with the blue cue follows from the Northeast. Archtown's Sally scratched early in game 1, but that was better than the late scratch Oceanside's Celestia had, which led to her missing on the 10 on her next turn. Sally converted it, taking the win in a close game for a 1-0 series lead. The Arrows' Sally seemed to have an edge in possession in game 2, but the Waves' Celestia won on a 6-10 combination to the bottom side from a difficult angle. Celestia's impressive winning shot tied the series at 1. Sally again had an edge on offense in game 3, but Celestia countered with an 8-10 combination to the top right this time to grab another win for the 2-1 series win. Celestia will move on to the second round.
Microsoft Center, Del Sur: Salmo v. Crystal. The host has his second series of the day in 13-ball with the red cue. Queens' Crystal looked to be in a good position early in game 1, but she butchered a few shots on her last ball, and Southern's Salmo ended up winning on a three-ball run-out for a 1-0 lead in the series. The Flames' Crystal flipped things around in game 2, waiting until the Monarchs' Salmo was down to one ball to launch her big attack. It didn't go off perfectly, but Crystal did do enough to get the win, which tied the series at 1. Salmo had most of the early offense in game 3, but Crystal held firm on defense, stymieing Salmo at the top right and top side. Crystal then broke the defense and won on a three-ball run-out to take the series 2-1 win, which puts her in the second round.
Intel Center, Diamond: Smokey v. Chris. Captains collide for a 10-ball series with the red cue. Capital City's Chris potted the 10 illegally early in game 1, leading to a six-ball run by Diamond's Smokey. Chris got possession back on the 9, making the last pair of shots for the win and a 1-0 series lead. Neither player seemed to have a grip on things in game 2, but it was the Sharpshooters' Chris who snagged a couple of late shots for the win to defeat the Gems' Smokey. Chris' win secured the series for him at 2-0. Smokey made sure game 3 went quickly, making the 3-10 combination to the top right to prevent Chris from sweeping. Chris will take a 2-1 series win with him to the second round.
UPS Hall, Maplewood: Whiskers v. Luigi. Players from teams with a burgeoning rivalry oppose each other in Rotation with the blue cue. North Modernistic's Luigi began on a three-ball run in game 1 before falling behind to Maplewood's Whiskers. Luigi then rallied back with a four-ball run and picked up an 8-5 win on the next turn to go up 1-0 in the series. The offense slowed way down in game 2, but the Lumberjacks' Whiskers managed to hold her lead this time, beating the Nighthawks' Luigi 8-3 to tie the series at 1 game apiece. Whiskers and Luigi battled for much of game 3, but Luigi set a scratch trap that Whiskers fell into at the end. Luigi then made the 13 for an 8-5 win to advance to the second round on a 2-1 series win.
Capital City SuperCenter, Capital City: Lorde v. Fuchsia. The silver cue returns for 8-ball. Capital City's Lorde made a ball on the break in game 1, but her offense was slow. Midland's Fuchsia scratched on her first turn and still got onto the 8 before Lorde could clear her suit. Fuchsia never gave Lorde a chance, burying the 8 to the bottom right for a 1-0 series lead. The Sharpshooters' Lorde came closer to being a threat in game 2, but the Predators' Fuchsia erased the danger with a five-ball run-out in only four shots to get the win. Fuchsia clinched the series at 2-0. Lorde thought she was safe after a five-ball run at the start of game 3, but Fuchsia took some gambles to make an eight-ball run-out, just narrowly avoiding an illegal play on the 8 before tapping it in. Fuchsia swept the series 3-0 to earn her second-round spot.
Audi Hall, Terrace City: Melissa v. Gizmo. The blue cue finishes off the day in 15-ball. Eastside's Gizmo made six of the last seven balls in game 1, but the one he missed was the one that counted, which Terrace City's Melissa deposited in the bottom left for the win and 1-0 series lead. The Sharks' Gizmo kept himself in the series in game 2, double-potting the 12 and the 15 off of a kick shot to the bottom side and bottom right, respectively. This tied his series with the Knights' Melissa at 1. Gizmo doubled down on trick plays, winning game 3 and the 2-1 series with an 11-15 combination from distance to the top right. Gizmo is headed to the second round.
We'll be back tomorrow at the regular time after some Elite cricket.

The Hummingbirds' Paps made no mistakes on the 9, burying it to the top side to tie the series at 1. Game 3 remained close, with Paps working a three-ball run before missing a bank on the 9.
