Premier Cricket 2019 - Week 11

Premier will hit the half-season mark at the end of the week. Leading off...

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Hummingbirds begin a doubleheader with a tough road game. Noelle sits for the Warriors, while the visitors go without Vincent at the start of a busy week. Sarah presented a challenge with 763 for Tysini on the opening turn, trying to keep the hosts on edge. Twilight got most of the damage back with 722 for Central, keeping things close early on. Leandra kept the offense up with 542 for the Hummingbirds on the second attack. Dustin answered with 579 for the Warriors, erasing most of the small gap between the teams' offenses. Charli chopped another 541 for Tysini on her turn, refusing to let the hosts off the hook. Wings let Central slip a bit with his 355, causing them to be more noticeably behind with a turn to go. Paps choked at 32 for the Hummingbirds, endangering their lead with a final score of 1878. Andrew did enough with 368 to nab the win at 2024. Central improves to 12-9 while Tysini flounders at 5-15.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The Hummingbirds end their first doubleheader with their second of seven games this week, with Paps sitting at home while the Eagles bench Bear for rest. Goldy made a quick exit with 180 for Everton, an unfortunate start for the favored side in the game. Sarah dropped off with 274 for Tysini this time, giving them only a small lead. Cleo knocked 527 on the second attack, giving the Eagles a much better lead this time around. Leandra answered with 509 for the Hummingbirds, maintaining a small advantage at the halfway mark. Puff III missed a swing at 271 for Everton, weakening their position in the game. Charli didn't do much with a mediocre 243 for Tysini in response. Kirstin hit 409 to give the Eagles a total of 1387 in the low-scoring battle. Vincent, fresh off a rest, clubbed 600 to seal the win at 1626 for the Hummingbirds. Tysini rises to 6-15, while Everton takes a hard hit down to 11-9.

Amazon Field, Golden: The Pilots go without their captain Valencia in this game, while the visiting Sharpshooters sit veteran Missy for regular rest. Chris had no trouble setting the tone with 564 for Capital City on the opening turn. Dusty plucked 364 for Golden on the first turn, failing to settle into a productive groove. Sprinkles shoved 644 for the Sharpshooters on the second attack, boosting their lead nicely. Strut struck 487 for the Pilots, leaving them with plenty of work to do in the second half of the game. Lorde left the door open with 192 for Capital City, weakening their lead in an unusually poor effort. Max made up a good amount of the deficit with 450 for Golden, but the game will still come down to the final players. Pauline hauled in 464 for the Sharpshooters, giving them 1864 in total. Sparkles couldn't rally for the Pilots, her 313 leaving them in a loss with 1614. Capital City is up to 7-6, while Golden's inconsistency drags them to 13-11.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The Hummingbirds begin a tripleheader against a Southwestern rival. Shelley cycles out for rest for the Torpedoes, while the Hummingbirds do the same for Sarah. Smudge rolled 426 for Infinity on the first turn, a decent start to the game. Leandra smashed 780 for Tysini to earn the lead after the lead off turns. Fluffina hit 388 for the Torpedoes on the second attack, narrowly covering the deficit. Charli faded with 243 for the Hummingbirds this time, causing their lead to shrink at the midway mark. Mr. Snowman took advantage of the weakness with 470 for Infinity, making a game of things at this point. Vincent's 375 kept Tysini ahead for now, but it's a weak lead to carry into the final turn. Hughbert didn't save the day for the Torpedoes, his 48 points costing them the game with a final score of 1332. Paps capped the win for the Hummingbirds with 410 individually for a total of 1808. Tysini continues to show well this week, rising to 7-15, while Infinity is 6-10 for the year.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Hummingbirds' middle game of a tripleheader sees Leandra on the bench, while the Swifts sit Sweetheart for rest. Sarah returned to the lineup with a solid 434 for Tysini this time, keeping the visitors in form. Patches had a lackluster 314 for Boston in response, unable to cover the initial deficit. Charli mistimed a swing, falling with 245 for the Hummingbirds to weaken their lead on the second turn. Puff II answered with 464 for the Swifts, enough to pull them ahead at the game's halfway point. Vincent took a stumble with 130 for Tysini, making their predicament a little more dangerous. Gradley commanded the ball well with 619 for Boston, strengthening their lead fairly well. Paps couldn't do a rally with 224 for the Hummingbirds, sending them to a loss at 1033. Ice Cream kept it simple with 245 for the Swifts, icing their win at 1642. Boston jumps to 12-7 with a six-game winning streak, while Tysini drops back to 7-16.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The Hummingbirds end the tripleheader at home against a tough Pilots side. The visitors rest Sparkles, while Charli cycles out of the hosts' lineup. Valencia had plenty of pace, but she sent a ball high out of play, ending at 319 for Golden this time. Sarah matched it exactly with 319 for Tysini, allowing the rest of the players to settle this one. Dusty drilled 731 for the Pilots on the second attack, pulling them farther ahead this time around. Leandra lined 534 for the Hummingbirds, keeping things relatively close with the effort. Strut couldn't break his recent slump with 274 for Golden, leaving them exposed again. Vincent cut some of the deficit away with 420 for Tysini, but they'll play from behind on the final turn. Max slipped a high swing in to end with 130, leaving the Pilots with only 1454. Paps fell at 128 for the Hummingbirds, their loss sticking at 1401. Golden moves to 14-11 with the lucky win, while Tysini is 7-17.

Chevrolet Field, Everton: The Eagles begin a doubleheader against a surging Swifts side. Puff III sits for the hosts, while the visitors have Ice Cream scheduled to sit again. Patches struggled a bit with 291 for Boston, a slow start against a team right around them in the standings. Goldy replied with 480 for Everton to give them a slight advantage early on. Puff II worked her way to 960 for the Swifts, doubling up the damage done against them. Bear fired back with 518 for the Eagles, keeping them competitive despite the mid-game deficit. Gradley didn't let up much with 629 for Boston, refusing to make it easy for the hosts. Cleo grabbed 514 for Everton, unable to shrink the deficit at all. Sweetheart took 353 for the Swifts, their final score sitting at 2233. Kirstin gathered 500 for the Eagles to make it interesting, but they took the loss on 2012. Boston surges up to 13-7, while Everton is 11-10 now.

Chevrolet Field, Evertom: The Eagles complete their doubleheader just as the Hummingbirds start one of their own. Paps retakes the bench for the Hummingbirds, while the Eagles rest Cleo. Sarah picked up 376 for Tysini in a decent outing, but that might leave them in danger against a hungry foe. Goldy went off with 774 for Everton in response to establish a sizable lead. Leandra covered the deficit with 596 for the Hummingbirds, but they're far from safe at this point. Bear pushed back with 669 for the Eagles, rebuilding their lead quite effectively. Charli kept Tysini in the fight with 646, again managing the pull the visitors ahead temporarily. Puff III clubbed 881 for Everton, pinning the visitors back even farther with a player each to go. Vincent had only 260 for the Hummingbirds, putting them at a final score of 1878 in the loss. Kirstin added 429 to ice the Eagles' win at 2753. Everton roars back to 12-10 at midseason, while Tysini drops down to 7-18 with one game left in their crazy week.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The Hummingbirds end their seven-out-of-nine games run with a soft visitor in the Predators. Vincent takes a turn sitting out for the hosts, while Fuchsia sits for the visitors. Shawn struck 466 for Midland at the start, a decent first attack. Sarah put Tysini narrowly ahead with her 494, setting up a competitive battle between the cellar-dwelling teams. Rainmane took a dive with 240 for the Predators, giving them weak coverage on the deficit. Leandra fought it off with 560 for the Hummingbirds, strengthening their lead at the halfway mark. Americus picked up 276 for Midland, hardly helping them get close. Charli added 321 for Tysini to give their lead a small addition. Kitty came close with 370 for the Predators, but they ultimately lost with 1352. Paps took 361 for the Hummingbirds, capping their winning score at 1736. Tysini is up to 8-18, while Midland remains in last place at 5-19.

Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: The Eagles close a four-game week on the road with Kirstin out of the lineup, while the Torpedoes return Hughbert to the bench. Goldy cracked 709 for Everton to start the scoring in great form. Smudge took 334 for Infinity in response, approximately halving the deficit. Bear answered with 450 for the Eagles, making a solid addition on the second attack. Fluffina took 429 for the Torpedoes, washing out the most recent damage but leaving the deficit virtually unchanged. Cleo slipped at 235 in her return to the lineup for Everton, causing their lead to weaken a bit at a critical point in the game. Shelley rallied with 611 for Infinity this time, nearly covering the deficit heading into the final turn. Puff III set the bar high with 692 for the Eagles at the end, setting their final score at 2086. Mr. Snowman made a push, but his 703 came up narrowly short at a total of 2077 as the Torpedoes just lose. Everton is up to 13-10, while Infinity drops to 6-11.

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Predators end the week on a doubleheader, with Americus on the bench for the visitors as the hosts give Wings some rest. Shawn whacked 663 for Midland on the opening turn, a confident approach for the captain of the struggling team. Twilight replied with 476 for Central to start the game at a slight deficit. Rainmane doubled up with 644 for the Predators, keeping them in a good position on the second attack. Dustin scraped 544 for the Warriors, unable to shrink the deficit at all in a surprising first half of the game. Fuchsia posted 539 for Midland, steadying their lead fairly well. Andrew didn't make a move with 329 for Central, making a loss look much more likely. Kitty popped 480 for the Predators at the end, capping their offense at 2326. Noelle went with 464 after a desperate save for the Warriors, unable to flip the game as they lost with 1813. Midland rises to 6-19 while Central slips to 12-10 somewhat embarrassingly.

HP Field, Midland: Ending the week, the Predators take on the Shores. Shawn cycles out of the lineup for rest for the hosts, while the visitors sit Katharine to end a three-game road trip. Marsell had a decent 441 for Whitewater to open the scoring in the week 11 finale. Rainmane replied with 542 for Midland, enough to stake out a small lead initially for the hosts. Twinkie III poked 419 for the Shores to cover the deficit, but they have a smaller advantage this time. Americus went with 472 for the Predators, adding a little more to their lead at the halfway mark. Shaggy managed a mere 245 for Whitewater, unable to move the needle much. Fuchsia countered with 410, allowing Midland to grow the lead again heading into the final turn. Rosalina rocked 509 for the Shores, putting their final at 1614 to force a response from the hosts. Kitty took 300 for the Predators, a mild turn but enough to win at 1724. Midland finishes the week well to get to 7-19, while Whitewater sinks to 7-15.

That'll be it for the first half of the season. UPCL cricket action may return later Sunday with Select, and will assuredly play Monday.
