Select Cricket 2019 - Week 12

We're set to return with Select action today, beginning with...


Microsoft Pitch, Del Sur: The Monarchs welcome the Wolves in an S-Line Derby, with Mams sitting out for the hosts while the visitors bench Vladimir for regular rest. Juno fell apart with some sloppy swings, ending at 341 for Stonebridge. Panda hit 609 in response in a rare return to the lead-off role for Southern, giving the hosts an advantage. Cobalt replied with 640 on the second attack for the Wolves to give them a better chance in the contest. Pounce sliced 426 for the Monarchs, enough to keep them narrowly ahead for now. Hershey cranked 636 for Stonebridge this time, challenging the hosts with the big effort. Dominic slid with 343 for Southern, putting them behind heading into the final turn. Wild Thing posted 429 for the Wolves at the end, capping their offense at 2046. Salmo didn't meet the challenge, ending at 192 for the Monarchs as they lose with 1570 overall. Stonebridge rises to 11-10, while Southern is at 6-20. After the game, the Monarchs assigned Salmo to a six-week developmental program stint, which will keep him out of the next six league games. He will return in week 15.


Sprint Pitch, Victoria: The Spurs and Specters clash in a battle of talented sides. Yekaterina is out for the hosts, while the visitors bench Blizzard at the end of a five-game road trip. Sydney S. managed 310 for Harrison at the start, a mild first turn. Spice doubled it up with 731 for Victoria early on, giving the hosts a significant early lead. Twinkie II fired back with 517 for the Specters, enough to cover the deficit this time. Sage did alright with 308 for the Spurs, enough to maintain a lead midway through the game. Lexi scattered 343 for Harrison this time, keeping things competitive. Strawberry slugged 989 for Victoria to put them far ahead with a player each to go. Rudolph collected 543 for the Specters, but they still took the loss at 1713. Mitchell tapped 304 against his former team, securing the Spurs' win at 2332. Victoria jumps to 14-10, while Harrison slips to 16-7.


Mercedes-Benz Field, Harrison: The Specters return home with Sydney S. sitting out, while the Nighthawks begin a road doubleheader with Luigi back on the bench. Peach rallied with 745 right from the start, setting North Modernistic up pretty well early on. Twinkie II dented that deficit with 560 for Harrison, giving them a fighting chance initially. Cheddar rapped 639 for the Nighthawks in response, protecting their lead pretty well. Blizzard crumbled at 146 for the Specters, unable to fight off some tricky offerings. Gal made a reaching save but got caught out of position for the next swing, adding a solid 384 for North Modernistic. Lexi charged back with a quick 600 for Harrison, but they remain behind late in the game. Lionel tacked on 426 for the Nighthawks to seal their score at 2194. Rudolph plucked 470 for the Specters, which failed to turn anything around as they lost with 1776. North Modernistic gets a lift to 20-7, while Harrison dips again to 16-8.


Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: The Nighthawks have a quick turnaround to finish the doubleheader, sitting Lionel for rest, while the Meteors sit Hoot. Peach clubbed 550 for North Modernistic this time, a little less than in the previous game. Princess couldn't keep up with 260 for Viewpoint Sound, who are concerned about facing the division leaders. Cheddar missed a swing but her high pace put the score at 519 in a strong second attack for the Nighthawks. Frosty pushed with 595 for the Meteors, cutting into the deficit at the halfway point. Gal fumbled out at 200 for North Modernistic, leaving the visitors exposed a bit. Nibbles made a modest gain with 339 for Viewpoint Sound, pressing the visitors again. Luigi returned to the lineup with 487 for the Nighthawks, setting their final score at 1756. Dani couldn't keep up with 373 for the Meteors, giving them a total of 1567 in the loss. North Modernistic jumps again to 21-7, while Viewpoint Sound is pushed back to 9-12.


Home Depot Forum, Web City: The Spiders keep Jack stapled to the bench at home, while the visiting Spurs go with Sage as their reserve this time. Spice struggled at the start with 243 for Victoria, unable to push further early on. Waluigi crushed 974 for Web City on their first turn, establishing a massive lead very quickly. Yekaterina grabbed 387 for the Spurs on the second attack, but the visitors just don't seem to have an edge yet. Ted easily covered that damage with 490 for the Spiders, keeping them in control at the midway mark. Victoria's Strawberry hauled in 456, which won't get them any closer to catching up. Avril kept Web City well ahead with 684 on her turn, not allowing the visitors any room to work with. Mitchell had a solid 429, which gave the Spurs a losing total of 1515. Chicky Phil tacked on 454 for the Spiders at the end to cap their win at 2602. Web City soars to 13-12, while Victoria is 14-11 after the defeat.


The Intel Pitch, Diamond: Leonardo will take the bench for the Gems, while the Monarchs play the first of six straight games without Salmo at the start of a five-game road trip. Mams got unsettled in the middle of her turn, stumbling to 243 for Southern to lead off. Shadow had a firm 388 for Diamond to give them the initial lead by a slight margin. Panda fired back with 445 for the Monarchs, upping the ante on the second attack. Smokey slugged 1038 for the Gems to gain full control of the lead halfway through the game. Pounce cut into the deficit with 620 for Southern, but couldn't pull the visitors ahead this time. Pedey chopped 531 for Diamond in response to maintain their lead effectively. Dominic had only 230 for the Monarchs at the end, sealing their loss at 1538. Katelynn tapped 290 as the Gems finished with a winning score of 2247. Diamond rises to 9-13, while Southern is 6-21.


FedEx Ground, Eastside: The Sharks begin a home tripleheader, with the first two matches against the Spiders. Chicky Phil is out for the visitors, while the hosts rest rookie Taylor M. Waluigi was unimpressive with 256 for Web City to start the game. Graham ripped 615 for Eastside early on, setting the hosts noticeably ahead after one turn. Ted couldn't wrap a hard swing past the boundary, ending at just 200 as the Spiders struggle in this road match. Chelsea tallied another 576 for the Sharks on their second attack, strengthening the lead greatly. Jack managed 385 in a solid turn for Web City, but they appear outclassed thus far. Gizmo kept Eastside in fine position with 366 on his turn, protecting the lead fairly well. Avril made a quick exit at just 85 for the Spiders, leaving them at a losing total of 926. Cubby iced the win with 400 individually to give the Sharks 1957 overall in the win. Eastside jumps to 6-13 while dragging Web City down to 13-13.


FedEx Ground, Eastside: In the rapid rematch, Avril is out for the Spiders while Gizmo takes a regular rest turn on the bench for the Sharks. Waluigi did a little better with 353 this time, but Web City still doesn't have much of a start on offense. Graham couldn't cover the damage with 345 for Eastside, setting up a much closer start in the second game of the back-to-back. Ted sliced 521 for the Spiders on the second attack, giving them a better look at the lead. Chelsea fired back with 820 for the Sharks, putting them in the inside lane in the middle of the game. Jack collapsed at 176 for Web City, unable to cover the deficit this time. Taylor M. showed no mercy with 456 to extend the Eastside lead a little more. Chicky Phil did fine with 383 for the Spiders, but they suffered the loss at 1433. Cubby's 434 kept the Sharks in good form to earn the win at 2055. Eastside moves up to 7-13 while Web City dips to 13-14.


FedEx Ground, Eastside: Completing the tripleheader, the Sharks sit their captain Graham, while Hoppy is out for the Arrows after featuring in Tournament 2019 Day 1 action. Sally popped 609 for Archtown on the opening turn, trying to pin the busy hosts back early. Chelsea kept it close with 509 for Eastside, showing no signs of fatigue herself. Sleepy B. kept the Arrows sharp with 595 on the second attack to protect their lead. Taylor M. dropped off the pace a bit with 361 for the Sharks, putting them at a bit of a deficit at the halfway mark. Dusky went with 445 for Archtown, keeping them in charge on offense. Gizmo couldn't keep up with 232 for Eastside, causing the hosts to slide farther behind. A. Charlton added 432 for the Arrows this time, giving them a total score of 2081. Cubby's 119 left the Sharks far short at 1221 in the loss. Archtown improves to 11-14 while Eastside sinks to 7-14.


The Intel Pitch, Diamond: Action stays heavy in the Eastern Hills, with Katelynn out for the Gems while the visiting Union sit Ms. Puppy this time. Daisy fired off 529 for Modernistic at the start, a good opening turn for the visitors. Shadow belted 844 for Diamond in response to give them the early lead. Puff I had an unusually strong effort with 579 for the Union, covering the deficit in her best game of the season. Smokey dropped off with a mere 128 for the Gems, putting them in a dangerous position. Kodiak hit a decent 361 to give Modernistic a more distinct lead for now. Pedey pushed back with 490 to keep Diamond involved in the game heading into the final players' turns. Sydney C. likely cost the Union the game with a mere 33, giving them only 1502 as a final score. Leonardo zipped 504 for the Gems at the end to seal the win at 1966. Diamond spikes up to 10-13, just behind the 10-12 Modernistic side they dispatched.


Mercedes-Benz Field, Harrison: The Monarchs continue their five-game road trip without Salmo, while the host Specters look to take advantage with Blizzard on the bench for performance reasons. Mams had a decent 391 for Southern to start off this contest. Sydney S. went with 337 for Harrison, keeping things close but failing to cover the early deficit. Panda clobbered 564 with great pace for the Monarchs, continuing to apply to the hosts. Twinkie II lost more ground with 411 for the Specters, causing the deficit to grow again. Pounce slipped at 243 for Southern, suddenly weakening their lead against a dangerous team. Lexi played her part to perfection with 514 for Harrison, getting them back in the fight heading into the final turn. Dominic didn't have much with 227 for the Monarchs, forcing a small response to a final score of 1425. Rudolph lashed 729 for the Specters at the end, securing their win at 1991. Harrison's comeback win takes them to 17-8, while Southern drops to 6-22, one loss away from confirming a losing season.


Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: Princess will sit this one out for the Meteors, while Taylor M. is set to sit again for the Sharks for rest. Graham attacked quickly but fell at 357 when he sent a ball high out of play for Eastside. Hoot carved out 590 for Viewpoint Sound at the start, giving the hosts a noticeable lead. Chelsea fired back with 429 for the Sharks, fielding some low offerings quite well to keep her turn going. Frosty didn't do as well with 310 for the Meteors, causing their advantage to shrink a bit at the halfway mark. Gizmo applied pressure with 490 for Eastside, keeping the hosts honest with the good outing. Nibbles fought it off with 454 for Viewpoint Sound, keeping them ahead with a player each to go. Cubby managed 270 for the Sharks, giving them a total of 1546. Dani cleared 329 to secure a win for the Meteors at 1683 overall. Viewpoint Sound rises to 10-12, while Eastside is down to 7-15.

We'll have more Tournament action Wednesday afternoon, and Elite Week 12 begins Thursday.
