First of all, I'd like to thank the readers for 5,000 visits to the site, which was achieved on February 23, 2016. The blog has been around for less than a year and we've already had decent traffic in support of the UPCL. I'm glad that I have a loyal fanbase that I can share this with. Now, onward with the midweek chunk of games, with part 2 of this particular week of action. We begin with...
Mercedes-Benz Field, Harrison: The East Division's cellar-dwellers meet up for this game. Strawberry hit a modest 180 for Pronger to begin the game. Slinks answered with 320 to put Harrison in the lead at first. Hoot countered with 393 for the Tridents, pulling them ahead with a nice showing. Twinkie II had only 224 for the Specters, which was not enough to regain the lead halfway through the game. Precious nearly doubled the Pronger lead with her 554, giving them a very solid lead to work with. Sydney had a bit of a rookie mistake, swinging a bit too early to handle a deflection, giving her just 57 as Harrison is losing hope in this game. Paps smacked another 525 to give the Tridents a final of 1652. Brownie had a measly 80 as the Specters lost with 681 in their seventh straight home loss. Pronger takes the win to go to 15-29, snapping a seven-game losing streak, while Harrison is now 17-30 on the year.
Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: The Torpedoes face a tough challenge as the Swifts look for a sweep in this Bubble Watch game. Patches seemed alright, but came in with a low 177 for Boston to begin. Smudge faltered with only 60 for Infinity in a bit of a weak effort. Puff II indirectly took herself out, as a ball caught on her backswing and went out of bounds for a meager 46 for the Swifts. Shelley emerged with 702 for the Torpedoes after having a false start on her first attempt. Gradley kept his turn alive early on with a full extension backhand, but later ended on 274 with a bad angle, as Boston is running out of time to fix this game. Gabe slipped with 98 for Infinity, keeping things low-scoring for the game. Sweetheart had only 279 for the Swifts, and they took a rough loss with 776 total, snapping a four-game road winning streak. Whiskers poked 224 to give the Torpedoes 1084 in the win, their fourth straight at home. Infinity gets up to 22-23 as four teams are now virtually tied for sixteenth in the league, while Boston drops to 33-17 with the loss, holding steady in fourth place.
Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: The attention is now on the West Division as the Prestige look to sweep a road-weary Meteors side. Mr. Snowman produced a very solid 370 for Viewpoint Sound at the start of the game. Acorn set the tone for Lighton with 911, and it's an emergency situation the visitors find themselves in after that performance. Mams had only 147 for the Meteors after taking a bad swing. Spirit lined another 944 for the Prestige as they take a relentless approach to offense in this game. Zach had just 144 as Viewpoint Sound can't compete at this point. Twinkie I put Lighton on cruise control, covering the most recent damage with her 177 as they seem sure to win. Kelly's 232 put the Meteors at 893 in a ninth straight road loss for the struggling team. Lydia had a simple 248 against her former team, giving the Prestige their final of 2280 in a big win. Lighton is up to 27-19, while Viewpoint Sound is 17-27, with a 3-12 division record, the lowest in the league.
UPS Ground, Maplewood: The Lumberjacks are the focus in this Bubble Watch, but the Waves could get a sweep here. Snuggle broke a bit of a slump in hitting 385 for Oceanside to open the scoring in this game. Fluffina answered with 420, carrying Maplewood to a minor lead early on. Bells scored 155 for the Waves, not helping their cause much against a potent offense. Bryant didn't outpace it by much, scoring 199 to keep the Lumberjacks on top at the halfway point. Alyssa faltered with 48 for Oceanside, failing to cover the deficit at a critical moment in the match. Diddley piled on with 480 for Maplewood, giving them a safer lead with a player each to go. Pounce rallied with 536 to force a response, giving the Waves a final of 1124. Cubby did plenty with his 375, giving the Lumberjacks 1474 in their victory. Maplewood strengthens a hold on fifteenth in the league at 20-19, while Oceanside dips to 26-19.
Google Pitch at Union Ground, Modernistic: The Cascades beat the Union in week 2, and hope to do the same here. Jasmine launched 794 for Freedom to give them a solid foundation. Juno couldn't keep pace with only 152 for Modernistic. Stinky picked up another 281 for the Cascades, adding a little more to their lead. Ms. Puppy hauled in 320 for the Union, covering the second attack, but the hosts still trail by quite a bit. Roxy swatted a crisp 475 for Freedom, continuing to boost their offensive output as the game gets a bit old. Chimpy managed only 260 as Modernistic acknowledges it will be tough to get back into the game. Nikolai posted 352 for the Cascades, placing them at 1902 for their total. Puff I produced 700 for the Union, but they still lost with 1432, their fourth straight home loss. Freedom gets the big sweep, improving to 25-21, while Modernistic is down to 18-30 for the year.
AT&T Oceanside Stadium, Oceanside: The games continue on the coast between two teams firmly entrenched in playoff spots, with the Tradewinds looking for a sweep. Tigerette pounded a quick 815 for Commerce to lead things off. Snuggle had a ball just get over his bat, ending his turn at 361 for Oceanside. Ice Cream sliced another 663 for the Tradewinds, boosting their lead pretty efficiently. Bells put up 304 for the Waves, as they fall farther behind at the halfway point. Lionel smashed 983 for Commerce, extending their lead again. Alyssa had a middling 223 for Oceanside, and they remain significantly behind. Lorde had a simple 177, putting the Tradewinds at 2638 overall. Pounce had an identical 177 for the Waves, but they lost with 1065, snapping a four-game home winning streak. Commerce stands at 34-14, while Oceanside drops to 26-20 with another bad loss.

Chris ripped 848 for Capital City to get a big start with. Starlight struggled with her swing, hitting only 239 as Pacific starts from behind. Missy added 304 for the Sharpshooters on her turn, a reasonable effort. Ms. Kitty slugged 1348 for the Volcanoes, reversing their fortunes to give them a lead. Sprinkles hit 370 for Capital City, doing what she could to keep them in range after a stunning turn of a events. Jack dazzled with his belting 840 for Pacific, building up their lead quite a bit late in the game. Pacific stood tall to get a sweep, improving to 31-19, while Capital City takes a spill to 25-27.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: The Tridents start a cross-map trip as part of a doubleheader, in which they look to avenge a home loss that started a rapid downward spiral. Strawberry started well for Pronger with 398 on her turn. Watermelon crushed 1087 in response for Pearl, giving them the initial lead. Hoot answered with a big 604 for the Tridents, keeping them close for now. Neopolitan fired back with 571 for the Surfers, restoring their lead. Precious knocked 512 in a decent appearance for Pronger, but they've lost a bit of ground. Wings let the Pearl lead slip a bit with 400 in a good showing. Paps poked 368 for the Tridents, but they fell short at 1882 and took the loss. Cowzart iced it with 209 individually for 2267 total in the Surfers win. Pearl is up to 27-17, while Pronger is down to 15-30 after suffering the sweep.
Tridents Park sponsored by Ford, Pronger: The Tridents now return home, with the Torpedoes in town looking for a sweep after a previous low-scoring win, with this game on the Bubble Watch. Kayla had 289 for the Flames, allowing their lead to slip a bit as she struggled with illness for this appearance. Wild Thing didn't totally secure it with 376 for the Shores, but they are at 1911 overall. Paige saved the day for the Flames, scoring 663 to propel them to the win on 1967 total. Queens gets the odd victory to move to 17-32, while Whitewater falls to 19-32 with a division loss.
Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: The Spiders are looking for the sweep as this segment wraps up in the urban southeast with a Bubble Watch game. Shadow started weakly with only 64 for Web City. Frosty capitalized in a big way with 975 for Royal, putting them far ahead, somewhat improbably. Rainmane also struggled, taking just 160 for the Spiders, as they turn in an ill-timed stinker. Jake swatted another 560 for the Crowns as they take a stranglehold here. Sugar churned out 1096 for Web City, regaining much of the deficit but still trailing their hosts. Marsell had a third straight poor home effort, taking only 171 as Royal's lead is destabilized at a bad time. Shiny couldn't settle it with 184 for the Spiders, putting them in a loss with 1504, their fifth straight loss on the road. Nightfur tapped a simple 64 to give the Crowns 1770 in their win. Royal is up to 16-30, while Web City is 23-25, falling a bit off the playoff pace now.
That's it for this segment, but the UPCL has an announcement. The UPCL uses Cricket Defend the Wicket as the simulator of choice to organize their games. The game, offered originally by Miniclip, is available on a number of other portal websites. One of these sites, Geewa, recently merged with fellow Czech site Duelovky. The UPCL wishes the new Czech gaming site the best, but will not commit to using their service beyond the end of the 2015-16 UPCL Cricket campaign. In the summer, we will evaluate our options going forward, and determine which games provider will be UPCL-endorsed in 2016-17 and beyond.
