IBM Nighthawks Nest, North Modernistic: The Nighthawks are running out of time to right the ship, playing their fourth of a five-game home stand against a spoiler-prone Prestige side. Acorn didn't get very comfortable for Lighton on his turn, bowing out at just 150 when a ball bounced off his bat handle. Peach recaptured a bit of her early season skill with 560 for North Modernistic, giving them a sizable lead. Spirit fired back with 503 for the Prestige on her turn, covering the deficit smoothly. Luigi replied with 475 for the Nighthawks on his turn, a solid contribution to keep their lead in good shape. Twinkie I once again covered the deficit for Lighton, gathering 479 on her turn to keep them competitive in a tough game. Cheddar kept the visitors at bay once more for North Modernistic, swatting 532 to pad their lead late in the game. Salmo technically forced a response from the hosts with his 445 for the Prestige bringing them to 1577 for their final score. Bright did more than enough with 311, giving the Nighthawks a hard-earned win on 1878. North Modernistic gets back to 30-31 on the year, while Lighton dips down to 27-36 with the loss.
Verizon Field, Pacific: The Volcanoes can retake first place alone with a win here in the second of their four-game home stand, but the Torpedoes are a tough challenge in any venue. Smudge tried to squeeze a swing in before a deflection and failed, ending on a meager 82 for Infinity. Starlight took advantage of the misplay, slicing 629 for Pacific to take a sizable initial lead with. Solaris couldn't get the Torpedoes on track, weakly adding 136 as the visitors fall deeply behind. Ms. Kitty racked up a solid 487 for the Volcanoes, padding their lead quite nicely halfway through the game. Whiskers is currently leading Infinity in offense, but her 344 didn't affect the deficit very much at all. Leonette allowed the Pacific lead to slip a bit with her 131, a deflection responsible for cutting her down early. Mr. Snowman had a good attempt at a rally for the Torpedoes, but his 391 left them short at a final of 953, a losing result. Chicky Phil produced another 378 for posterity for the Volcanoes, leaving them at 1625 overall. Pacific takes the league lead alone at 40-19, while Infinity drops down to 34-28 after the tough battle.
Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: The Crowns have a doubleheader going on, the first game against a Sharpshooters team desperate to stay in the bubble battle. Chris did well for Capital City on the opening turn, driving the ball on his way to a score of 536 to get things going. Nightfur kept it incredibly close for Royal, even after her pace cratered after an odd bounce, as she hit 528 to nearly equalize the score. Missy didn't have the most confident start for the Sharpshooters, but she settled in to take 560, a nice boost to their offense. Jake fell off the pace of the game for the Crowns with 373, but the deficit is not unbeatable. Sprinkles made an interesting choice after a technical error, electing to accept 349 for Capital City despite the closeness of the game. Kayla picked a great time to strike big for Royal, hammering 616 to put them narrowly ahead with a player each to go. Nicole saw a deflection end her turn at 195 for the Sharpshooters, leaving them with 1640 total. Hannah didn't have a flashy turn, just doing her job with 351 to get the Crowns a win on 1868 overall. Royal is rounding into form at 21-38, while Capital City's playoff hopes take a big hit down to 30-32.
Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Crowns complete their doubleheader on the road as they try to pull off a bigger upset against a Warriors team closing out a four-game home stand. Nightfur ripped 560 with some authority for Royal at the start this time, setting the tone for the game quite fiercely. Twilight had her fair share of struggles at the start of her turn, but she rebounded to tally 611, giving Central the initial lead. Jake kept a similar pace on his turn for the Crowns, but he ended a bit early at 405, giving them a weaker second lead. Dustin couldn't keep his swing under control, falling with just 112 as the Warriors fall behind midway through. Kayla couldn't quite pull away for Royal with 249, leaving a chance of a comeback for the hosts. Mario wasted the opportunity for Central, collapsing at a pitiful 72 as the deficit grows one more time. Hannah chopped her way to 556 for the Crowns in a strong finish, leaving them at 1770 total. Gizmo had a decent 418 for the Warriors on his turn, but they lost with 1213 total. Royal gets another big upset this time, rising to 22-38, while Central takes the hit back to 36-21.
Amazon Field, Golden: The Pilots look to get back into the fight for first place when they play the second of three straight at home against a Meteors team making a one-off road trip. Mams had an unsatisfying start to the game with only 42 for Viewpoint Sound, a poor opener for the visitors. Valencia answered with a solid 393 for Golden to give them a sturdy lead initially. Hoot couldn't get the Meteors caught up, taking too slow of a pace on his turn before bowing out at 263. Dusty put the Pilots much farther ahead, slugging 1137 on her turn to give their lead a massive boost. Nibbles popped up with 287 for Viewpoint Sound, unable to make much of an impact against the large deficit with his appearance. Strut stayed very much in form for Golden on his turn, lining 567 to give their lead a bit more strength. Dominic grabbed 256 for the Meteors, cementing their losing total at 848 with the mediocre team performance. A. Charlton contributed 506 more for the Pilots, intentionally taking out her own wicket to ice their offense at 2603 in a big win. Golden's triple-up job lifts them to 40-21, while Viewpoint Sound goes down to 25-33 with the loss.
Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Swifts are back home for a single game, while the Monarchs begin a murderer's row of a three-game road trip, facing half of the top-6. Panda had only 153 for Southern at the start of this game, a weak performance from the visiting captain. Patches managed to do worse for Boston, hitting just 133 with distractions and a lack of pace on her turn. Hoppy also had to deal with some distractions, but she held onto her turn, scoring 495 for a stronger second attack for the Monarchs. Puff II battled just a bit harder with 537 for the Swifts, edging them ahead at the halfway mark. Pounce fired back with 554 for Southern, reclaiming their lead in the game with his strong outing. Gradley just barely kept Boston in the lead with his 536, as this close game will be settled by the final players. Shannon countered with 503 for the Monarchs on her turn, giving them 1705 overall. Sweetheart stumbled at 314 with a high hit for the Swifts, leaving them at 1520 in the loss. Southern's upset gets them up to 22-31, while Boston drops down to 39-20 as their home woes persist.
Amazon Field, Golden: The Pilots are back in action in this Generations Derby match, ending a three-game home stand against a Warriors team making a one-off trip. Twilight had a near disaster at the start of her turn for Central, getting distracted but recovering to slap 464 for the initial attack. Valencia clubbed 833 in response for Golden, putting them noticeable ahead at the start of the game. Dustin covered the deficit on his turn, smacking 560 for the Warriors to keep things competitive. Dusty answered with a strong 545 for the Pilots, maintaining their lead at the midway mark. Mario kept Central in the fight with 432 on his turn, again covering the deficit, although a bit more narrowly this time. Strut easily recovered all of that damage and inflicted a bit more himself with 663 for Golden on a strong attack. Gizmo had only 144 for the Warriors, leaving them in a loss with 1600 even. A. Charlton brought the game to a simple close with 36 for the Pilots, giving them a win with 2077. Golden rises again to 41-21, while Central dips to 36-22, clearly off the top tier now.
Mercedes-Benz Field, Harrison: The Specters get their best chance for a Northeast Divisional win when they host the last-place Lumberjacks in their one-off trip. Fluffina had a middling 232 for Maplewood despite showing some intent to score with her pace. Sydney could only watch as a deflection and a cluttered pitch combined to take out her wicket on a high-arcing ball, ending her turn at just 64 for Harrison. Diddley added a decent padding of 361 for the Lumberjacks, although their lead can't be considered safe yet. Twinkie II just covered the deficit with 535 for the Specters, the close score setting up an interesting second half. Bryant answered with 378 for Maplewood, regaining a slightly smaller lead. Lexi couldn't match it for Harrison, her mild 250 putting the hosts narrowly behind with a player each to go. Waluigi played with fire at times for the Lumberjacks, but supplied 272 to give them a final score of 1243. Sugar couldn't do it for the Specters, taking only 208 as they lost with 1057 total. Maplewood gets a surprise division win to go to 15-39, while Harrison is down to 20-36, with an 0-9 division record and only the return match of this fixture left to fix that.
Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: Two of the busiest teams in the league meet, as the Prestige switch venues every game, and the Arrows end their last four-game road trip of the year in this one. Sally made a good impression for Archtown in the lead-off role, ripping 712 to pace their attack. Acorn fired back with 478 for Lighton on his turn, keeping them within striking distance after the first turn. Sleepy B. faltered on her response for the Arrows, taking a weak 144 that destabilizes their lead. Spirit punished the mistake relentlessly with 782 for the Prestige, giving their lead a nice extension. Ruby couldn't recover at all for Archtown, taking a measly 84 as the deficit grows. Twinkie I didn't give Lighton much help on her turn, ending at 223 after a bad swing. Dusky couldn't cover the deficit on the Arrows' last chance, ending with 310 to give them a losing final of 1250. Salmo had a good pace going for the Prestige, but he got tangled at 162 to end his turn abruptly, giving them a winning total of 1645. Lighton spoiled things quite well, rising to 28-36 with the win, while Archtown takes a bump down to 32-33.
Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: The Meteors return home for a single game to host the Cascades, who are leading off a four-game road trip in this one. Jasmine served up a solid turn for Freedom, slapping 497 to give them something to build on later in the game. Mams had a great pace going until a deflection downed her at 311, but Viewpoint Sound is still within range in this one. Stinky hammered a solid 688 for the Cascades in response, carrying them to a strong lead with that performance. Hoot couldn't keep up for the Meteors with his 240, allowing the deficit to grow at the midway point. Roxy put the Freedom lead on stilts with 184 on her turn, leaving them a lot less comfortable than they were before. Nibbles made a large dent in the deficit with 631 for Viewpoint Sound, helping them to stay close as the final players come to bat. Nikolai couldn't give the Cascades any extra strength with his 225, leaving their final score at 1594, a vulnerable mark. Dominic made it pretty close with 382 for the Meteors, but they came up short at 1564 for the loss. Freedom just got by with a win to go to 21-39, while Viewpoint Sound slips again to 25-34.
Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: The Torpedoes have a chance to drag a second-tier team down a bit as they clash with the Shores, who begin a three-game road trip in this game. Bear maintained a calm composure for Whitewater as he tallied 567 to open the game in a positive manner for the visitors. Smudge continued to have spotty form at home, gathering only 225 for Infinity in this appearance. Twinkie III countered with a big 837 for the Shores, the strong performance adding nicely to their lead. Solaris showed good instincts for the Torpedoes, grabbing a crisp 487, but they remain far behind. Marsell made a mess of his turn for Whitewater, taking just a meager 75 as their lead grows less stable. Whiskers got a bit closer with 439 for Infinity, giving them a chance of completing the comeback as the final players come to bat. Shaggy offered a bit of protection for the Shores with 577, bringing their final score up to 2056. Mr. Snowman couldn't assemble a big enough turn, ending on 328 to leave the Torpedoes at 1479 in the loss. Whitewater defends their position as they rise to 33-22, while Infinity slips back to 34-29.
Apple Park, Todavía: The Stills will be at home to close out this week of games against their Coastal Division rivals, the Waves, who are just hanging onto the playoff bubble. Snuggle had a long enough turn, but he lacked pace for Oceanside, picking up only 264 along the way in a mild start. Easter put up a good response for Todavía, pummeling 727 to give them the initial lead with a persistent attack. Caitlin didn't do a lot better for the Waves, taking 131 as the deficit grows against them. Sierra simply didn't have her swing about her for the Stills, crashing out at 157 to add modestly to the lead. Her niece, Celestia, put Oceanside on her back with a rally of 780, covering the deficit with the strong outing. Sparkles fought back with 454 for Todavía, regaining a smaller lead on her turn to keep the hosts in control with a player each to go. Dewey came up short with only 87 for the Waves, leaving them at a losing total of 1262. Bells emphatically capped off the win with 497 for the Stills, closing their win at 1835. Todavía's got seven straight home wins to rise to 34-27, while Oceanside drops to 30-31 with the loss.
