UPCL Cricket: Week 7 Part 3

The final games of the week are here. We shouldn't be as far behind as we were last week. We begin with...

Microsoft Pitch at Del Sur: The West Division battle here has the storyline of Shawn's homecoming game in Del Sur against his former team. Snowball opened with 313 for Swordpoint, who won against this team at home in week 2. Panda grabbed 240 for Southern, keeping things close early on. Dreamy blasted 921 in response for the Blades, giving them a more daunting lead. Shannon went for 392 for the Monarchs, covering a portion of the deficit. Shawn struggled against his former team, producing only 131 for Swordpoint. Kirstin didn't do much in response, hitting 153 to gain a little ground for Southern. Stealth's backhand attempt cut him down at 175 for the Blades, and they finished with 1540 total. Nicole had a measly 104 for the Monarchs, giving them a loss with 889 total. Swordpoint remains near the top of the league at 12-3, with a 5-0 division record. Southern drops to 4-13, on a six-game losing streak.

GE Stadium, Southridge: Another divisional comes from the Center Division, with the teams from opposite ends of the spectrum. Kiwi's offense slowly returns to her, as she supplies Terrace City with 312 here. Boots mishandled the situation, allowing a ball to fly over her bat and give her only 24 points for Southridge to fall behind early. Jennifer gave the Knights some more breathing room with 583. Debby also had only 24 for the Defenders, spiking a fast-flying ball off the pitch and into her wicket to halt her offense. Oreo faltered with 37 for Terrace City, although they aren't particularly vulnerable right now. Southridge's J. Garcia got tangled up by a number of odd bounces, and she couldn't field them all, falling with 62 as the hosts trail even more late in the game. Stripes knocked 656 for the Knights, putting them at a final of 1588. Shaggy took just 49 for the Defenders, and they lost with a putrid 159 total. Terrace City returns to form to move to 11-4, with a 9-1 division mark, while Southridge drops to 4-10 in an all-time bad showing.

Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: The teams meet up again for the second half of their week 7 home-and-home set. Fluffina tallied 424 for Maplewood to start the scoring. Snowball gave Swordpoint the lead with 548 on her turn. Bryant answered with 560 to pull the Lumberjacks into a solid lead again. Dreamy couldn't get the points back, taking 266 for the Blades as they trail at the halfway point. Diddley got halted at 374 for Maplewood after her put a little too much on a backhand attempt. Shawn sliced 229 for Swordpoint, allowing the deficit to grow. Cubby left virtually no doubt for the Lumberjacks, smacking 679 to give them a final of 2037. Stealth had a decent response of 438, but the Blades came up short at 1481. Maplewood takes the season series, moving to 6-5, while Swordpoint's perfect home run is over as they slide to 12-4.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: The Knights look to exorcise their Northeastern demons against the league leaders. Goldy gave Everton a strong starting point at 596 in her impressive opener. Kiwi rallied for 847 for Terrace City, giving them the initial lead. Puff III fired back with a huge 1068 for the Eagles, restoring a large advantage. Jennifer kept things close by ripping 793 for the Knights, making it a close and high-scoring game at the halfway point. Cleo took it all back with 799 for Everton, matching Jennifer in both score and impressive plays with the bat. Oreo's aggressive play ended her turn at 334 for Terrace City, and they will face an uphill battle. Blizzard left the Eagles extremely vulnerable with 51, with their final at 2514. Stripes popped 256, but the Knights suffered a loss with 2230. Everton improves to 12-1 on their nine-game win streak, while Terrace City's Northeast problems put them at 11-5 at the quarter mark.

Apple Park, Todavía: Chris had a shaky start for Capital City again, taking only 171 this game. Easter gave Todavía a decent lead with 443 on her turn. Missy fired back with 475 for the Sharpshooters, giving them another modest lead. Sierra produced 328 for the Stills to regain the lead, but with a less stable lead than after the first exchange of scores. Sprinkles gave Capital City a better lead with 631 on her turn, putting the pressure on the hosts. Leonardo couldn't step up to the challenge for Todavía, with his 136 putting them at a significant deficit. Dani didn't secure the game for the Sharpshooters, as her 117 put them at a very vulnerable 1394. Sparkles took just 186 for the Stills, and they suffered defeat at 1093. Capital City takes the season series on the Stills to go to 5-6, while Todavía is 7-8 on a four-game losing streak.

Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The West Division gets another showcase battle. Snuggle rocked 480 for Oceanside in a good opening salvo. Princess poked only 149 for Tysini after getting tangled up with a mass of dead balls. Bells added 322 to the Waves lead, giving them a little more room to work with. Leandra's quick swing brought her turn to an end with 264 for the Hummingbirds, whose deficit just grew slightly. Alyssa swung 594 for Oceanside, solidifying their lead even further. Charli got all of that back and a little more, posting 656 to get Tysini back in the game. Pounce pulled in 312 for the Waves, giving them 1708 as their final. Bright couldn't do enough, falling with 160 as the Hummingbirds lost on 1229 total. Oceanside is up to 5-6, while Tysini's perfect home start ends at six, with a record of 9-3 now.

B. Chapman got caught between two angles, ending her efforts at 404 for the Spurs, making the game a lot closer halfway through. Zach gave Viewpoint Sound some hope with 321. Yekaterina's slump continued for Victoria, as she managed only 32. Kelly tacked on 392 to give the Meteors a final of 1699 in a very good team game. Kavan wilted with 192 for the Spurs, and they lost with a total of 1163. Viewpoint Sound improves to 4-8, while Victoria drops to 4-12 at the quarter pole.

Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: The Meteors second game in their doubleheader brings the Gems across the map. Smokey failed to get Diamond going, scoring just 64 in his weak turn. Mr. Snowman's bungled backhand gave him only 41 for Viewpoint Sound as the game starts very slowly. Citrus came through a near-disaster at the start to rip 768 for the Gems, giving them a comfortable lead. Mams got 345 of it back for the Meteors on her turn. Pedey added another 566 for Diamond, extending their effectively. Zach's antsy attacked ended up with 371 for Viewpoint Sound, as they face a large deficit late in the game. Home Depot Forum, Web City: Crystal used a bit too much follow-through on her turn for Queens, giving them a meager 46 to start off with. Shadow had a very different opener, crushing 1214 to give Web City a large lead. Kayla grabbed 187 for the Flames, keeping them far behind. Rainmane had just 64 for the Spiders as most of the appearances in this game have been poor. Max failed to make an impact for Queens, supplying them with only 169. Sugar did complete a backhand in her turn, but couldn't handle the subsequent offerings, giving Web City another 408 as they run away with the game. Paige tried to save one at the wicket, but she was too late, ending with 173 to give the Flames a final of 575 in the loss. Shiny slapped 631 to seal the win at 2317 for the Spiders. Web City looks to turn their season around with this win getting them to 3-9, snapping a six-game losing streak. Queens is down to 4-10.

BMW RockDome, Westside: Acorn wasted no time in establishing a Lighton lead, rallying for 771 in a crisp appearance. Westside had only 92 from Acorn's understudy, Misty, putting them far behind early in the game. Spirit had an unfortunate double-tap during her turn, producing 161 for the Prestige as she still has yet to find a groove on the road. Goatee scooped only 108 for the Rockers as they continue to flounder in the game. Twinkie I smacked 577 for Lighton, extending their lead to likely unreachable levels. Midnight hauled in 331 for Westside in an attempt to mitigate the damage. Lydia struck 476 to give the Prestige a strong final of 1985 in a projected win. Chicky Phil had a measly 96 for the Rockers, and they lost with 627. Lighton's win gets them to 8-6 while Westside drops to 3-6, with very few road games played so far to boot.

Cheddar breathed life into the Whitewater offense, pummeling 958 to make it a close game near the finish. Stealth's 167 could mean trouble for the Blades, as they finish with 2148. Wild Thing didn't cover the deficit, and his 266 left the Shores at 1907 in the loss. Swordpoint avoids disaster to go to 13-4, while Whitewater is 7-10.

Standings update to come next.
