Premier Cricket 2018 - Week 11

By the end of this week, all the divisions will be at the halfway mark of their seasons. We begin with...

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The first game is a Northeast Derby, part of a home-and-home for these teams this week. Noelle sits for the hosts while Kirstin is on the bench for the visitors. Goldy established the Everton attack with 504 on her second try, after a false start wiped out the first attempt. Twilight answered with 327 for Central, unable to match the opposing captain's start. Puff III took a low pace on her turn for the Eagles, ending up at 299 in a lackluster appearance. Dustin pulled back with 463 for the Warriors, attacking well against his former team to shrink the deficit. Cleo had 337 for Everton, unable to make a game-breaking run as the visitors stay mildly ahead. Mario came through with 370 for Central, putting them narrowly ahead with a player each to go. Blizzard had a middling 298 for the Eagles, leaving them at 1438 to force a small response from the hosts. Wings smashed 759 for the Warriors at the end, giving them a final score of 1919. Central rises to 6-10, bumping Everton down to 9-11.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Swifts play the third of their seven-game home stand with Puff II on the bench, while the Rockers rest their captain Misty in this tough meeting. Goatee fought off a flurry at the start for Westside, getting a perfect spike to the back 4s to extend her turn, which ended at 582. Patches smashed 1117 for Boston in response, nearly doubling the opponents' first attack. Slinks got beat at 167 for the Rockers, not even coming close to matching the deficit. Gradley had a mixed turn with 319 for the Swifts, adding modestly to their lead at the halfway mark. Midnight countered with 479 for Westside, trying to keep their spirits up as they chase this game. Sweetheart didn't have much this time for Boston, falling at 197 to expose their lead late in the game. Cowzart had a lot of pace, but he lost control too soon and fell at 281, as the Rockers take the loss with 1509. Ice Cream capped the effort with 520 for the Swifts, putting their total at 2153 in the win. Boston rises to 19-2, while Westside drops to 9-15.

Chevrolet Field, Everton: The Eagles and Warriors clash again in the other venue, with Blizzard sitting for the hosts and the last game's hero, Wings, sitting for the visitors. Twilight hammered 714 with a good pace to lead off for Central in this game, building on their prior success. Goldy couldn't keep up for Everton, flicking a ball too high to end at a poor 80 points. Dustin added a composed 296 for the Warriors on the second attack, not his best performance by any means. Puff III countered with 943 for the Eagles, making it quite close again midway through the game. Mario kept Central ahead narrowly with 227, a mediocre effort from the struggling sophomore. Cleo continued her home dominance with 832 for Everton, putting them well ahead with a player each to go. Noelle picked up 392 for the Warriors, but they took the loss at 1629. Kirstin tacked on 492 to secure the Eagles win at 2347. Everton bounces back to 10-11, while Central falls to 6-11.

Verizon Field, Pacific: These two teams clash before facing a common foe over the following two games. Twinkie I rests for the hosts, while Katharine does the same for the visitors. Bear had a false start on his first attempt, but he rallied to 479 for Whitewater on his second try. Starlight tried to make do with less pace for Pacific, but she faltered at 313, giving them a bit of a deficit early on. Twinkie III poked another 471 for the Shores, nearly doubling their offense with the performance. Ms. Kitty got caught on a deflection, backhanding a ball out of play at 162 for the Volcanoes. Marsell did alright with 335 for Whitewater, making another modest addition to their lead. Leonette swung too high for Pacific at the end of her turn, falling with 161 as a comeback becomes far more unlikely. Shaggy successfully dodged the perils of a cluttered pitch, tallying 772 for the Shores to put their final score at 2057. Chicky Phil got tangled up and fell with 87 for the Volcanoes, leaving them at a final score of 723 in the brutal loss. Whitewater gets a bump up to 11-12, while Pacific slips to 9-9.

Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: The Volcanoes try to bounce back from the previous tough loss with Leonette resting, while Stealth gets this one off for the host Blades. Starlight found her groove this time, belting 1190 for Pacific to put them well ahead. Snowball answered with 391 for Swordpoint, putting a small dent in a large deficit on the first turn. Ms. Kitty fumbled a backhand attempt, falling with a pitiful 76 for the Volcanoes as their lead is already weaker. Dreamy hit 192 for the Blades in response, unable to capitalize on the visitors' weakness. Twinkie I gave Pacific a bit more strength with 393 on her attack, keeping their lead steady. Bandit matched that with 407 for Swordpoint, but they are no closer to catching up than before. Chicky Phil had a measly 16 for the Volcanoes this time, icing their offense at a not-yet-safe 1675. Jason N. pieced together a tally with 762 for the Blades, capping the comeback at 1752 in the win. Swordpoint is ecstatic to reach 13-11, firmly in third place, while Pacific dips to 9-10 with the heartbreaking fifth straight loss.

Blades Fusion ProGlide Park, Swordpoint: The Blades complete the home doubleheader with Dreamy on the bench, while the visiting Shores give Twinkie III only her second game off. Bear corralled 448 for Whitewater on a productive opening turn for the visitors. Snowball got beat on a deflection at 266 for Swordpoint, putting them a bit behind initially. Marsell added 425 for the Shores this time, keeping their offense consistent with this performance. Bandit countered with 592 for the Blades, nearly covering the deficit with his surprisingly strong attack at the halfway point. Katharine responded with 551 for Whitewater, restoring their lead to its previous strength. Stealth had only 319 for Swordpoint, causing them to fall back a bit with a player each to go. Shaggy answered with 420 for the Shores, giving them a final score of 1844. Jason N. didn't have a rally in him this time for the Blades, his 184 leaving them short with 1361. Whitewater is even at 12-12 now, while Swordpoint slips to 13-12 with the loss.

Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The shorthanded Tridents are on the road for a one-off game against a Warriors team resting Dustin in anticipation of an easier game. Precious got Pronger going in good form, slicing 558 on the opening turn to establish an offense for the visitors. Twilight slugged 1410 in response for Central, giving them a massive lead with her best effort of the season. Zach tried to keep up for the Tridents, but his 307 didn't even come close to the deficit. Mario countered with 495 for the Warriors this time, extending their lead. Spot collapsed at 108 for Pronger, the season's fatigue clearly catching up with him. Wings slashed another 618 for Central, padding their lead significantly with a strong appearance again. Potter flicked 570 for the Tridents, making their final respectable at 1543 despite their loss. Noelle tacked on 645 for the Warriors in the end, giving them a big win at 3168. Central rises to 7-11, while Pronger is slipping at 6-9.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: The Pilots begin a road tripleheader with their third of six straight road games, and they have Valencia on the bench while the hosting Knights sit Oreo. Dusty got beat on an awkward deflection at 833, but she gave Golden a supple lead at the start of the game. Kiwi answered with 332 for Terrace City, unable to cover the deficit on the first try. Strut held his form with 921 for the Pilots, the big second attack extending their lead greatly. Jennifer pulled back with 626 for the Knights, trying to give chase in a high-scoring game. Sparkles had a smooth backhand flick to briefly extend her turn before an errant deflection downed her at 437 for Golden. Melissa countered with 655 for Terrace City this time, gaining ground late in the game. A. Charlton fought off a flurry of offerings for the Pilots, but her pace suffered and she exited with 292, giving them a total of 2483. Quincy faltered with 124 for the Knights, never able to get his swing going as they fell with 1737. Golden rises to 14-9, while Terrace City is down to 8-12.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Swifts and Pilots meet in a battle of Premier's top two teams. Sparkles is on the bench for the visitors, while Sweetheart takes a seat for the hosts for performance. Valencia accidentally spiked a dead ball backward, which took her wicket to end her turn at 378 for Golden. Patches answered with 432 for Boston this time, giving them a narrow lead initially. Her sister, Dusty, managed only 200 for the Pilots in this appearance, lightly covering the deficit. Puff II was too slow to react to a deflected ball that downed her with only 16 for the Swifts in an ugly first half of the game. Strut shoved 298 for Golden to give their lead a bit more strength despite the disappointing turn. Gradley countered with 376 for Boston on his attack, closing the deficit a bit ahead of the final players' turns. A. Charlton put in a pathetic 73 for the Pilots, leaving them at 949, an exposed total. Ice Cream fell with a measly 30 points for the Swifts instead, taking the loss at 854. Golden avoids the season sweep, rising to 15-9, while Boston sinks to 19-3 with the loss.

BMW RockDome, Westside: The Pilots complete the tripleheader with A. Charlton taking her turn for rest, while the Rockers sit the struggling Midnight for rest. Valencia shrugged off 346 for Golden, their scoring ability not quite at its peak as fatigue begins to take a toll. Misty rallied with 823 in response for Westside, giving the hosts a significant lead on the first turn. Dusty answered with 361 for the Pilots on the second attack, not enough for them to catch up yet. Goatee got beat on a deflection at 687 for the Rockers, but their lead is strong and stable halfway through the game. Strut made a push with 414 for Golden, unable to break the scoring cap seemingly afflicting them. Slinks enjoyed fairly easy offerings, swatting her way to 480 for Westside in another extension of their lead. Sparkles got beat on a deflection at 31 points for the Pilots, sealing their losing total at 1152. Cowzart added another 336 at the end for the Rockers, their winning total resting at 2326. Westside gets a stunner win to rise to 10-15, while a burnt-out Golden team is 15-10.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: A Southeastern rivalry opens the Swifts' home doubleheader, where Ice Cream takes the bench for the hosts, while the Predators sit Fuchsia in this meeting. Shawn had a pitiful 129 for Midland to open the scoring this time. Patches had 745 for Boston in response, giving them a large lead right at the start of the game. Rainmane made a push with 391 for the Predators in an attempt to get them close on the second attack. Puff II tacked on a big 623 for the Swifts on their second attack, giving the hosts a substantial lead at the midway point. Leonardo crashed out at 271 as Midland can't seem to get over the hump in scoring against the league-leaders. Gradley pummeled 856 for Boston on this attack, almost assuring them of victory one turn from now. Americus answered with a furious 854 for the Predators, bringing their losing total to 1645, a more respectable mark. Sweetheart ripped 816 for the Swifts in response, icing their win at 3040. Boston is the first to 20 wins this year, at 20-3, while Midland sinks to 10-13.

Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The Swifts close the week against the Stills. Puff II will get rest for the hosts, while the visiting captain Easter takes this one in from the bench. Sierra showed some strength in attack for Todavía with 464 on the first turn of the game. Patches got exactly half of it back with 232 for Boston in a rough outing for the captain. Bells tallied another 484 for the Stills, who have a lead they aren't interested in parting with. Gradley came up clutch with 615 for the Swifts this time, shrinking the deficit halfway through the game with the firm reply. Prism had a bit of a down effort for her, falling at 336 as Todavía's lead takes a small hit. Sweetheart attacked with pace to haul in 634 for Boston, giving them the lead with a player each to go. Anton did cover the deficit with 220 for the Stills, but his awkward backswing ended the turn early, and the visitors close at 1504. Ice Cream didn't do a lot better than last time, but 93 was enough for the Swifts to win with 1574 this time. Boston is 21-3 now, while Todavía drops back to 11-14.

That's all for the games this week. The second half of the season will start tomorrow in Select with no delay.
