Ebay Center, Queens: The Pilots make a short trip to face their Southeastern rivals, the Flames, in a major divisional game to start this segment. Valencia found herself lacking a sufficient offense for Golden, picking up only 204 at the start of the game. Crystal fired back with a great pace for Queens, but a high hit cut her down at 368, preventing her side from taking a stranglehold in the game. Dusty fought off some personal fatigue to blast 900 for the Pilots, giving them a large lead after the second attack. Paige pulled back with 587 for the Flames, keeping them in range at the halfway mark. Strut had the pace to go big for Golden, but flicked a ball high to end on 337 in a light padding to the lead. Violetta got very close to covering the deficit for Queens, collecting 460 on a solid turn to set up a close finish between the rivals. A. Charlton hauled in 640 in response for the Pilots, setting their final score at a not-yet-safe 2081. Max couldn't shake his struggles with pace for the Flames, bowing out at 256 as they lose with 1671. Golden continues an upward surge to 34-17, while also ending their Southeast Division schedule at 7-3, and Queens dips to 27-21 with the tough loss.
Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: The Surfers return home for a home-heavy remaining schedule, meeting the Shores in another Aquatic Derby match. Bear put up a sturdy 345 for Whitewater to lead off in this game, but it may not hold up for a lead. Watermelon slumped a bit in the opening turn for Pearl, tapping 271 as she narrowly failed to cover the deficit in a low-scoring start. Twinkie III countered with 344 for the Shores, coming in just behind her captain to essentially double their offense. Neopolitan popped up with a big performance for the Surfers, batting 675 to give them the lead. Marsell froze up when he swung too early, letting one ball take his wicket just after another offering made the turn official at 7 points to Whitewater. Boots swung fairly well for Pearl on her turn, but came in a bit light at 344 as she padded their lead before the final players' turns. Shaggy tried a comeback for the Shores, doing well to hit 494, but they took the loss at 1190 in a rough outing. Wings showed off a long reach in scoring 378 for the Surfers to ice their win at 1668. Pearl is now 28-26, while Whitewater dips down to 26-18 in the loss.
GE Stadium, Southridge: Another Southeast Divisional is on the way, and this one doubles as the Castle Derby as the Flames come to visit the downtrodden Defenders. Crystal served up a decent result with 441 for Queens at the start, pacing their attack fairly well. Southridge's rookie star Bianca appears to be running out of steam for the season, with only 42 on this poor turn. Paige only picked up an extra 256 for the Flames, enough to pad the lead a bit for now. Debby wasted the chance to recover some of the deficit for the Defenders, crashing at 160 as the hosts lose ground again. Violetta pummeled 854 for Queens in response, giving their lead a huge boost at a great time. Stephanie showed some life for Southridge with 525 on her turn, but it's likely too late to do much of anything against the steep deficit. Max poked another 336 for the Flames at the end of the game, his solid contribution setting them at 1887 overall. Hughbert couldn't keep up with 192 for the Defenders, leaving them at 919 in the loss. Queens easily won this one to get to 28-21, while Southridge falls to 21-35.
Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: The Tridents need to shake a recent slump, but the high-scoring Torpedoes intend to make that difficult in their second of a three-game road trip. Smudge didn't put a great turn together with 99 for Infinity, continuing her erratic road form. Precious didn't show any mercy to the opposing captain, thumping 575 to get Pronger going in good form. Solaris stepped up for the Torpedoes, covering the damage with 584 in an excellent response. Zach didn't get it all back, but his 481 put the Tridents noticeably ahead once more at the halfway mark. Whiskers couldn't cover the deficit for Infinity this time, hitting a mild 215 on her turn as they remain behind. Spot scooped up another 505 for Pronger, extending their lead pretty well before the final players come to bat. Mr. Snowman tried to stage a comeback, but his 591 left the Torpedoes short at 1489. Potter added a reasonable 402 for the Tridents at the end, icing their winning total at 1963. Pronger played a great game to rise to 27-24, while Infinity takes a knock down to 31-23, right in the middle of the third-tier pack.
Cisco Tysini Field, Tysini: The Hummingbirds return home with a bit of momentum, while the Pilots end a five-game road trip with a chance to take first place. Golden got off to a wonderful start as Valencia replaced a shaky pace with a long turn to rack up 800 on the lead-off turn. Princess attacked at a better pace for Tysini, but her shorter turn ended with 337 as the hosts will start from behind. Dusty lined another 627 for the Pilots on her turn, extending their lead quite well with the big performance. Leandra fired back with 447 for the Hummingbirds, but they lost more ground at the halfway mark. Strut saw a dip in productivity for Golden on his turn, poking an okay 272 to keep their lead steady for now. Charli hardly made up any ground with 283 for Tysini, leaving them in a deep hole with a player each to go. A. Charlton got forced onto her backhand for the Pilots, faltering at 84 to leave their final score at 1783. Brownie crashed out with no pace or placement on her turn, falling with 174 as the Hummingbirds lose with a final of 1241. Golden has taken first place at 35-17, while Tysini sinks to 22-31.
Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Warriors need to get back into form, but a Sharpshooters team comfortable on the road could make that difficult in this C-Line Derby. Chris executed a perfect backhand to keep his turn going for Capital City, but his low pace gave them 344 when he finished. Twilight had another rough turn at home, tapping 224 as Central finds themselves behind again. Missy failed to pull the Sharpshooters much farther ahead with her 113, freezing up as a ball rolled down the back of her bat and into her wicket. Dustin charged back with 543 for the Warriors, doing plenty to give them the lead. Sprinkles covered the deficit with 446 on her counterattack, keeping the game interesting despite the low score. Mario effectively canceled out all of that damage with 465 for Central, keeping the hosts on top of the game. Nicole couldn't hold a ball with the tip of her bat, ending on 189 as the Sharpshooters lost with 1092 total. Gizmo capped the Warriors win with his 400, giving them a winning final of 1632. Central rises to 32-19, while Capital City drops to 27-29.
Chevrolet Field, Everton: The Eagles begin a doubleheader against a Tridents team trying to turn a recent win into a much-needed hot stretch. Precious started out pretty well for Pronger, swatting her way to 490 despite lacking much in the way of strong pace. Goldy seemed to have more intent on her turn with 536 for Everton, pulling them narrowly ahead. Zach struck back in a big way for the Tridents, ripping 742 on their second attack to give them a strong lead this time. Puff III countered with 432 for the Eagles, keeping them in range but behind at the midway mark. Spot belted 842 for Pronger on his turn, giving the visitors another huge boost as they take a massive lead in the game. Kirstin helped to keep the Everton offense in balance, but her 505 actually lost a bit of ground late in the game. Potter chipped in with a decent 387 for the Tridents, setting their final score at 2493 in what should be a win. Blizzard almost put the result in doubt, going on a furious rally with 850 for the Eagles before falling, leaving them just short at 2323. Pronger survives the late score for the win, going to 28-24, while dumping Everton to 30-24 before their long road trip begins.
Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: The Crowns try to reverse their poor home fortune when they host the Eagles, who end a doubleheader just as they begin a character-testing nine-game road trip. Goldy set the tone without hesitation for Everton, sharply batting her way to 647 in a great first turn. Nightfur just about got half of it back for Royal, doing alright with 327 in response to the visitors. Puff III countered even better for the Eagles with 716, extending their lead quite nicely with the effort. Jake didn't make much of an impact for the Crowns, his 162 causing their deficit to grow significantly. Kirstin flipped another 572 for Everton on her turn, doing well to give their lead another bulky extension. Kayla also came in under expectations for Royal, contributing only 192 to an apparently lost cause. Blizzard had a little fun on her turn, going big again with 742 to put the Eagles at 2677 in a likely huge win. Hannah picked up only 209 for the Crowns on her turn, sealing their loss at 890 total. Everton gets a bounce-back win to move up to 31-24 for the year, while Royal is a half-game above last at 14-36.
Toyota Pitch, Freedom: The Cascades are home for a pair of games against Northeastern foes, first facing the Spiders, who have a desperate climb toward the playoffs ahead of them. Shadow fell off of his recent road pace in this appearance, still taking a solid 376 for Web City to open with. Jasmine just edged past him, the Freedom captain taking 377 to put her team ahead by the narrowest of margins. Ted had a weak turn for the Spiders, producing a paltry 128 as their offense falls into trouble. Stinky didn't have the cleanest turn, but he matched his captain with 377 to double the Cascades offense. Shiny had no trouble in covering the deficit for Web City, slicing 583 with authority to give her side at least a temporary lead. Roxy slipped up with only 225 for Freedom, getting beat at the end by a deflection as the hosts now trail with a player each to go. Dani slammed 518 on her turn for the Spiders, giving them 1605 overall in the tough game. Nikolai went for 360 for the Cascades, far from enough to steal the win as they lose with 1339. Web City's hopes remain alive at 24-27, while Freedom falls to 17-32.
Ebay Center, Queens: The Flames stick with their Fireball jerseys as they host the Blades, who hope to retake the league lead in their only game this week. Snowball had a good turn for Swordpoint at the start of the game, collecting 552 to lead things off. Crystal fired back at pace for Queens, her blistering 609 giving the hosts the initial lead in a tough battle. Dreamy crushed her way to an elite performance for the Blades this time, regaining their lead with a big 1005 from the veteran. Paige did well for the Flames to mitigate the damage with 543, keeping them close enough. Bandit may have left the door open when he hit a mediocre 231 for Swordpoint, weakening their lead just slightly. Violetta successfully covered the deficit for Queens, with the rookie's 731 putting them marginally ahead with a player each to go in a thriller of a game. Stealth didn't let that get him down, cranking out 615 for the Blades to give them 2403 as their final score. Max couldn't mount another comeback for the Flames, putting up a pitiful 80 to give them 1963 in the loss. Swordpoint retakes the league lead at 42-20, while Queens slips to 28-22 with the loss.
BMW RockDome, Westside: The Rockers begin a three-game home stand against a Pirates team feeling pressure from above and below. Delila suffered an unlucky deflection for Atlantic at the end of her turn, setting her at 341 to begin the game. Misty chopped back pretty well on her turn for Westside, posting 496 as the hosts take the initial lead in this game. Isabella didn't have trouble covering the deficit with 288, but that doesn't leave the Pirates in a great position. Goatee gave the Rockers lead a bit more padding with her 351, extending their lead at the halfway point. Americus couldn't cover the deficit for Atlantic, with a poor 131 putting the visitors at a noticeable deficit. Midnight did plenty well for Westside, tacking on 499 to their lead before the final players come to bat. Klaus tried to get too much on his swing for the Pirates, resulting in a ball popping straight up and out of play as he scored just 36. They lost with a final score of 796. Slinks didn't go completely quietly for the Rockers, chipping in with 344 to give them 1690 total in the win. Westside's strong game takes them to 36-19, while Atlantic is down to 32-25 with the loss.
Apple Park, Todavía: The Surfers begin their second tripleheader of the week, wrapped around the segment break, against the Stills in this Coastal Divisional game between bubble teams. Watermelon struggled to get her swing aligned, failing to do so before her turn ended at a simple 264 for Pearl. Easter had a stronger opening turn for Todavía, firmly hitting 424 to take the initial lead in decent form. Neopolitan made a much more aggressive turn for the Surfers, hammering 631 to put them ahead forcefully. Sierra effectively wiped out that second attack with her 629 for the Stills, restoring almost all of their lead. Boots came up weak for Pearl on her turn, unable to cover the deficit with 135 as the visitors slip more certainly behind. Sparkles countered with 256 for Todavía, not inspiring much confidence as the hosts take a modest lead into the final turn. Wings barely forced a response from the hosts with his 304, leaving the Surfers at 1334 total. Bells looked primed to go deep, but she pulled back on 146 for the Stills to ice their win at 1455. Todavía rises again to 30-23, while Pearl is down to 28-27 with yet another division loss.
That's all for the segment. We'll have more cricket action tomorrow live on Twitter
