After today, we'll be through half of the days of qualifying this year. We begin today's action with...
Cleo of the Everton Eagles playing 9-ball with the red cue. Cleo made a ball on the break and played well with only one error in 14 shots to finish the outing. The blue will make its daily debut with the Southern Monarchs' Pounce playing 10-ball. Pounce didn't quite have his shot calibrated in this game, needing 20 shots with one error despite making a ball on the break. The Royal Crowns' Brownie becomes the seventh player done with qualifying as she shoots Accuracy with the red cue. Brownie made two balls on the break but suffered an error in 20 shots for the game, giving her totals of 194 shots and 21 errors in all her appearances. The fourth game of the day goes to Atlantic Pirates veteran Steven, who shoots 13-ball with the silver cue. Steven didn't get anything on the break, and a late fade forced him to finish with 25 shots and two errors despite some strong play early on. More 13-ball ends the group, with the Viewpoint Sound Meteors' Dani using the blue cue in the event. Dani made a ball on the break, but late positioning issues tanked her score, as she ended with 26 shots and two errors.
Capital City Sharpshooters veteran Sprinkles keeps 13-ball going with the red cue. Sprinkles made a ball on the break and then completed the game in 19 shots, taking only one error in the standout effort. Maplewood Lumberjacks star Whiskers plays 8-ball with the silver cue in the next game. Whiskers made a ball on the break and didn't ease up after that, taking only 17 shots with one error to complete the game. The ball on the break validated the 8-ball breaking data set. Next up, the Pearl Surfers' Bright shoots Rotation with the blue cue. Bright gets credit for keeping a clean game, but he needed 30 shots after making a ball on the break to complete the effort. Eastside Sharks veteran Cubby steps up for 12-ball with the red cue. Cubby made a ball on the break, but he took two late errors as a clear shot at the bottom side took its time showing up. Cubby would finish with 23 shots in a decent performance. Pronger Tridents third-year Potter plays 13-ball with the blue cue to close the batch. Potter buried three balls on the break, and then needed only 19 shots with one error to finish the game in excellent form.
After the break, Stonebridge Wolves sophomore Hershey plays 9-ball with the blue cue. Hershey didn't get a ball on the break, ending at 16 shots after taking two errors due to sloppy play. The blue cue stays up as Pronger Tridents captain Precious shoots 13-ball. Precious made two balls on the break, but she struggled to make contact at times, ending with four errors over her 26 shots. She'll return for a second game, as Precious now plays Rotation with the blue cue. She did better this time, although she had an empty break and another four errors but in only 24 shots. The blue cue takes another look in Rotation with Pacific Volcanoes veteran Leonette stepping up to play. Leonette showed enviable confidence after the 8 fell on the break, taking only two errors over 23 shots to complete a strong game. The 15th game of the day is the silver cue's last 7-ball appearance, as Maplewood Lumberjacks veteran Gabe makes his season debut. Gabe was a bit sloppy with simple shots, needing 12 shots without an error to finish the game after having a ball on the break.
Group four gets going with Puff III of the Everton Eagles using the silver cue in 13-ball. Puff III made two balls on the break, but the usual positioning issues arose late, and she ended with three errors and 29 shots for the game. The silver cue continues its run with the Central Warriors' Noelle playing Rotation. Noelle fired off 23 shots after getting two balls on the break, and most impressively, she had only one error in the game. The Eagles' Puff III returns for her second game of the day, using the blue cue in Rotation. Puff III did quite well this time, taking only one error in 20 shots after an empty break, as she saw a number of bounces go her way. The 19th game of the day belongs to Pronger Tridents rising star Spot, who plays 12-ball with the blue cue. Spot had a good start with a ball on the break, but three errors pushed his score up to 24 shots by the end of the game. Finishing the group, Commerce Tradewinds captain Tigerette plays 10-ball with the silver cue. Tigerette made a ball on the break, but she faded late in the turn to end with 19 shots and one error.
The fifth group sees another Tradewind, Taylor S., begin with 13-ball and the red cue. Taylor S. had a ball on the break, and while she took a pair of errors in the game, she finished with a strong 23 shots. The 22nd game of the day belongs to Everton Eagles captain Goldy, who shoots 9-ball with the red cue. Goldy made a ball on the break and took only one error over 12 shots in an aggressive and successful effort. Terrace City Knights captain Kiwi comes next, playing 13-ball with the blue cue. Kiwi got a ball on the break and ran from there, attacking stripes efficiently and then closing up at 22 shots and two errors with a push on solids. Following that, Freedom Cascades veteran Nikolai tries his hand at 12-ball with the blue cue. Nikolai blasted three balls down on the break, and ended up with 16 shots and only one error in an outstanding game. Rounding out the bunch, Waluigi of the Web City Spiders plays 13-ball with the silver cue. Waluigi looked lost at first but managed to take only one error in 25 shots after an empty break did him no favors.
The sixth set leads off with Midland Predators star Rainmane playing 10-ball with the blue cue. Rainmane had nothing on the break and required 17 shots with two errors to finish the appearance. The red cue gets the next game, playing 13-ball with the Central Warriors' Wings. He had a pair of legal balls on the break and one illegal to account for his lone error, and then finished the game in a crisp 18 shots from there. Whitewater Shores newcomer Rosalina plays the 28th game of the day, using the red cue for 12-ball. Rosalina showed fantastically with 17 shots and two errors after potting two balls on the break. The red cue keeps going with Rotation played by Modernistic Union third-year Daisy. Daisy went empty on the break, but she ended up registering 22 shots and two errors in a good game. Pearl Surfers co-captain Watermelon wraps up the group with 8-ball and the red cue. Watermelon made a ball on the break and finished with no errors and 17 shots in the appearance.
Group seven opens with Shaggy of the Whitewater Shores playing 9-ball with the blue cue. Shaggy put down a ball on the break but took her only error with a scratch, leading her to finish with 12 shots at the end. Archtown Arrows veteran Sleepy B. plays 10-ball with the red cue in today's 32nd game. Sleepy B. made a pair on the break but took one error over 15 shots in her solid outing. Capital City Sharpshooters veteran Missy is next, using the blue cue in 12-ball. Missy made two balls on the break and ended up with 21 shots and no errors in a composed game. Harrison Specters sophomore will try 15-ball with the red cue next. Rudolph had a ball on the break and added only one error in his 18 shots before finding the 6-15 combination to the top right for the early finish. The red cue will help conclude this group, as Pauline of the Capital City Sharpshooters uses it in 10-ball. Pauline ripped a ball down on the break and finished the game with 12 shots and two errors.
The eighth group starts as Harrison Specters veteran Lexi plays Rotation with the blue cue. Lexi took this one on the chin, suffering through six errors and 40 shots after an unimpressive break and an ugly start. Moving along, the Todavía Stills' Bells plays 8-ball with the blue cue. Bells made it through her game on 20 shots and no errors despite taking an empty break. Terrace City Knights star Oreo shoots 9-ball with the silver cue in the 38th game today. Oreo potted the 1-9 combination just 2 shots into the game, taking no errors and an empty break. Web City Spiders newcomer Chicky Phil follows that with 10-ball and the red cue. Chicky Phil made the 10 on the break to count as a ball on the break, and then buried the 6-10 combination to the bottom right to end with 13 shots and two errors. The Sharpshooters' Missy returns to action to complete this group, using the blue cue in 13-ball in her second game of the day. Missy made a couple of balls on the break and then finished with 20 shots and only one error in a great performance.
Batch nine kicks off with the Westside Rockers' Chimpy playing 10-ball with the blue cue. Chimpy had a solid performance despite an empty break, finishing with 16 shots and only one error. Stonebridge Wolves captain Juno goes next, playing 9-ball with the blue cue. Juno was uninterested in playing a whole rack, instead deflecting the cue off the 1 to put the 9 in the top right at 3 shots and no errors. More 9-ball is on the way, as the Lighton Prestige's Shiny plays in the event with the red cue. Shiny didn't have an early finish, but she played well after going empty on the break, ending with 13 shots and no errors. The red cue stays in action as Southridge Defenders youngster Bianca plays 12-ball. Bianca did well for having an empty break, but then closed up poorly with an error to push her to 24 shots. The 45th player drawn today is Dewey of the Oceanside Waves, who plays 12-ball with the red cue as well. Dewey needed 32 shots even after making a ball on the break, as he had the worst positioning and four errors late in the game.
The Freedom Cascades' Roxy fronts the final group with the silver cue in hand for 9-ball. Roxy made a ball on the break, but needed a lucky bounce to finish with 15 shots and two errors in a sloppy effort. The silver cue gets another crack at 9-ball with the Golden Pilots newcomer Max. He had a good start with a ball on the break, but he also suffered two errors in his 13 shots. Another 9-ball game goes to the Maplewood Lumberjacks' Whiskers in her second appearance today, and she will use the blue cue. Whiskers was a little cleaner with two balls on the break and only one error in 11 shots. Terrace City Knights sophomore Quincy plays 15-ball with the silver cue in the penultimate game today. Quincy showed off some of his MVP-level skills, finishing this appearance in 19 shots with a ball on the break and only one error. The day ends with the Westside Rockers' Slinks playing 10-ball with the red cue. Slinks had nothing on the break, but cruised through the rack in 12 shots with one error.
We're halfway through the qualifying session by days, but will need the first 10 games tomorrow to officially reach the mark. Qualifying continues in the first three weeks of March.

United Cup - First Round, Leg 2
We'll be mixing Select and Elite games as the second legs commence on Wednesday. The winners of these series will be reseeded to face the current top-4 teams from each division.
FedEx Ground, Eastside: The Sharks again go without their captain, holding the 1-0 series lead over the Spiders, who sit Chicky Phil for this match. Waluigi started with 480 for Web City in this contest, trying to overcome a bit of a deficit if they're to advance. Chelsea shot back with 576 for Eastside, doing her part to guide her team to the early lead. Ted chugged along for 624 for the Spiders, regaining the lead with a stronger second attack. Taylor M. countered with 659 for the Sharks, restoring their narrow lead at the halfway mark. Jack chipped 366 for Web City, covering the deficit by a thin amount. Gizmo likely put the game to rest, smashing 889 for Eastside to grow their lead significantly. Avril dropped at 177 for the Spiders, confirming their exit from United Cup play with a loss at 1647. Cubby tapped 438 for the Sharks to secure their win at 2562. Eastside's lost league season may lead to a pressure-free run in United Cup, but they next face the top-seeded Victoria Spurs after this 2-0 series win.
GE Stadium, Southridge: The closest series from the first leg continues, with the Defenders sitting Wario while Taylor S. rests for the Tradewinds. Tigerette had a rough opening turn with only 230 points, leaving her team exposed. Bianca pulled Southridge ahead with 385 on their first turn, but the margin in the game and the series is close. Solaris made a stretch save to keep his turn going before ending with 402 as the Tradewinds retake a modest lead. Debby fired back with 702 for the Defenders, pulling them much farther ahead at the midway point. Niki torpedoed at 146 for Commerce, putting them in danger of being eliminated. Stephanie held her ground with 429 for Southridge, giving them the inside track heading into the final turn. Rosemary posted 295 for the Tradewinds, their final score resting at 1073 for a total of 2557 over the two games. Caitlin tagged on with 432 for the Defenders, icing their leg two win at 1948 and their series total at 3360. Southridge advances on the points tiebreaker, and will face top-seeded Oceanside Waves in the second round.
Microsoft Pitch, Del Sur: Both teams remain without their players, as Dominic of the Monarchs and Cobalt of the Wolves are again unavailable for this match. Juno got going with 496, a strong effort at the front for Stonebridge. Mams fired back with 575 for Southern, pulling her team ahead narrowly in the game. Hershey had good pace but a short turn, falling at 418 as the Wolves seem to be lacking that extra burst of attack. Panda lost a little ground with 395 for the Monarchs, who still trail in the series despite holding the lead in this game. Wild Thing slipped at 225 for Stonebridge, wasting their chance to pinch the hosts a bit. Pounce surged with 543 for Southern on his turn, giving them a lead to protect on the final turn. Vladimir covered the deficit with 405 for the Wolves, setting their game score at 1544 and their series total at 3153. Salmo tapped 199 for the Monarchs at the end, giving them 1712 to win the game and a 3143 in the series, which they lost by 10 points. The Stonebridge Wolves survive an absolute nail-biter to earn advancement to face the North Modernistic Nighthawks in the second round.
Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: The Crowns are without their captain Nightfur as they face a massive deficit, while the Knights take this chance to rest Oreo. Kiwi slapped 527 to start the game in good form for Terrace City as they nurse their lead from leg one. Kayla basically covered that damage with 521 for Royal. Jennifer replied with 556 on the second attack for the Knights, doing well to restore their lead. Jake tried to keep up but fell at 379 for the Crowns, further reducing their chances of making a comeback for the series. Quincy stumbled at 112 for Terrace City, weakening their lead for the game. Brownie wasted the opportunity to challenge the visitors, taking a mere 129 for Royal as they appear set to exit the competition. Melissa hauled in 478 to ice the Knights' score at 1673. Cassie missed a swing and dropped at 112 as the Crowns lose with 1141. Terrace City won the series 2-0 and will face the Pacific Volcanoes in the second round.
Starbucks Cup, Archtown: The Arrows sit Dusky as they try to hold onto a large lead, while Princess will be on the bench for the Meteors as they try to beat the odds in a tough road game. Hoot fired off 464 for Viewpoint Sound, approximately halving the series deficit the visitors face. Sally responded with 621 for Archtown, doing everything she can to give her side a positive start. Frosty answered with 373 for the Meteors, their energy to attack the deficit showing a drop on the second attack. Sleepy B. added 450 for the Arrows to protect their lead. Nibbles gathered 324 for Viewpoint Sound on his turn, further lessening the chances for them to make a comeback. Hoppy took out her own wicket at just 160 for Archtown, weakening their lead in the game but not putting their series in danger. Dani's 454 gave the Meteors a total of 1615, which might win the game, but they will be short in the series either way with 2575 total. A. Charlton tapped 357 for the Arrows to put their game total at 1588 for the narrow loss, but they won the series with a total score of 3415. The Harrison Specters will face the Arrows in the second round.
Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: The Prestige are down by over 1000 heading into their home leg, sitting Shiny while the Flames have Hannah on the bench. Crystal showed no mercy with 764 for Queens, boosting the series lead with a great start here. Acorn only picked up 334 for Lighton on his turn, doing little to help his side turn things around. Violetta scooped 454 for the Flames on the second attack, adding a decent amount to their lead. Citrus dropped out at 128 for the Prestige, just about confirming their exit from the competition. Briana went off with 572 for Queens, continuing to pile up points with ease. Spirit had 361 for Lighton, but they appear to just be playing the game out. Mario exited with 224 for the Flames, capping their attack at 2014 for the game. Nicole's 397 sealed the Prestige's fate at 1220, a similar score to their leg one loss. Queens' clean sweep gets them to the second round against the Pearl Surfers.
Google Pitch at Union Ground, Modernistic: Daisy sits for the Union as they protect a noticeable lead, while the Gems are going all out while benching Leonardo. Shadow had a questionable 227 for Diamond on the opening turn, putting them in an awkward position to start. Ms. Puppy slugged 1378 for Modernistic on their first attack, likely settling the game and series right away. Smokey slapped 492 for the Gems, but their chances of coming back look dim. Puff I went with 304 for the Union, keeping it simple as they will likely cruise to the win. Pedey didn't offer much of a challenge with 100 for Diamond, appearing more keen to get out of the game. Kodiak tapped 250 for Modernistic, keeping their lead strong late in the game. Katelynn put in a good effort with 503 for the Gems, but they still lost with 1322. Sydney C. kept it simple with 144, helping the Union finish off their win at 2076. The Union swept the series 2-0 and will face the Maplewood Lumberjacks in the second round.
Apple Park, Todavía: The Stills play host to the Cascades in the final first round game of the United Cup, with the heavily favored Cascades sitting Stripes while Sierra's out for the Stills. Jasmine wildly hit 251 to open the game, practically taunting the hosts as Freedom's cumulative lead grows a bit more. Ruby chopped 650 for Todavía on her turn, cutting into the deficit in the series significantly. Roxy fought off the danger with 420 for the Cascades, covering the deficit in the process. Bells faded a bit with 247 for the Stills, hurting their big-picture outlook. Nikolai went with 329 for Freedom, hardly pushing the issue in this game. Easter barely kept Todavía ahead in the game with 385, let alone mounting a late comeback in the series. Stinky added 396 for the Cascades at the end, sealing their score for the game at 1396, for a series score of 3976. Prism won the game with her 556 for the Stills, but their total of 1838 left them short at 3068 in the series. The Pronger Tridents are next up in United Cup play for the Cascades.
That's all from the first round. League play resumes with Select Week 8 beginning March 10.
FedEx Ground, Eastside: The Sharks again go without their captain, holding the 1-0 series lead over the Spiders, who sit Chicky Phil for this match. Waluigi started with 480 for Web City in this contest, trying to overcome a bit of a deficit if they're to advance. Qualifiers 2019 - Day 15
We're back for a new day of qualifying. We'll transition to 12-ball majority about halfway through the day. First up...
The Westside Rockers' Slinks plays 9-ball with the red cue. Slinks had nothing on the break and three errors in 18 shots in an unremarkable appearance. The awaited debut of the newly-tipped silver cue comes as Stonebridge Wolves third-year Cobalt plays 9-ball with it. Cobalt was pleased with the new tip, finishing with 15 shots and no errors in a conservative approach to his game. North Modernistic Nighthawks newcomer Lionel will keep the silver cue up for his 13-ball game. Lionel cranked an awkward break at first, but ended up driving the 8 into the bottom right to end with 0 shots and no errors in the first-ever perfect 13-ball game. Back in 9-ball, the Pacific Volcanoes' Twinkie I plays with the blue cue. Twinkie I made a ball on the break and quickly took an error for missed contact. She then finished with 5 shots on a 3-9 combination to the bottom right. At the back of the group, Royal Crowns captain Nightfur makes her season debut in 7-ball with the blue cue. Nightfur had a ball on the break but needed 12 error-free shots to complete the effort.
The Volcanoes' Twinkie I returns to lead off the second group with the blue cue in 10-ball. Twinkie I made a pair of balls on the break, but she needed 18 shots and two errors to complete the outing. The seventh game of the day goes to Infinity Torpedoes veteran Mr. Snowman, who plays Rotation with the red cue. Mr. Snowman scratched for the first of his three errors on the break, ending up with 28 shots for the game when it was said and done. Queens Flames sophomore Briana goes next, using the silver cue for 10-ball. Briana had a slow start after an empty break, only to spin a shot off the 4 to bump the 10 to the bottom right. She finished with 8 shots and no errors. More 10-ball follows as the Central Warriors' Dustin appears in the event with the blue cue. Dustin had two balls on the break and closed his game in 14 shots with no errors, a strong performance. Queens Flames captain Crystal finishes the batch with 15-ball and the red cue. Crystal fully committed to a defiant style, making a ball on the break and accruing seven errors, six with intent, to finish at 24 shots.
Group three begins with Quincy of the Terrace City Knights playing 13-ball with the silver cue. Quincy fired off a ball on the break, but some late positioning issues pushed his score to 23 shots with one error. Continuing along, Luigi of the North Modernistic Nighthawks plays 9-ball with the blue cue. Luigi made a ball on the break, but it took three errors and 18 shots for him to finish the appearance in poor form. The silver cue returns for more 13-ball with Modernistic Union third-year Daisy. This game went quite poorly, as Daisy made two balls on the break, only to pot the 8 illegally to incur five of her eight errors over 30 shots. Back in 9-ball, the silver cue stays in action for Chimpy's third qualifier. Chimpy made two balls on the break and then closed at 7 shots with a 6-9 combination to the top left, taking no errors in the studly outing. Pronger Tridents third-year Potter closes the group by playing 12-ball with the red cue. Potter will want to forget this game, as a ball on the break and fairly good positioning turned into wasted opportunity, five errors, and 33 shots.
The 16th player drawn today is Solaris of the Commerce Tradewinds, who uses the silver cue in 8-ball. Solaris had nothing on his break, but ended with 19 shots despite taking one error. The Knights' Quincy makes his second appearance of the day in Rotation with the red cue. Quincy did excellently in this game, with a ball on the break and a scratch early on for his only error in a crisp 20 shots. Southern Monarchs veteran Dominic tries his hand at 13-ball with the blue cue in the next game. Dominic buried the rack in 24 shots with only a single error after going empty on the break. Another Monarch goes next, as Pounce picks up the red cue to play 9-ball. Pounce had little trouble in his appearance, with a ball on the break and only one error over 14 shots. Ending the bunch, Hannah of the Queens Flames plays 13-ball with the blue cue. Hannah made a pair on the break but ended up the victim of awful positioning and three late errors that inflated her score to 29 shots.
The fifth group opens with Central Warriors captain Twilight shooting 9-ball with the red cue. Twilight had nothing on her break and took one error before burying a 5-9 combination to the top right to end at 10 shots. The 22nd game of the day goes to Swordpoint Blades newcomer Sugar, who uses the silver cue in 9-ball. Sugar posted 17 shots after a ball on the break, but she had no errors in a difficult game for converting her shots. Next up, Atlantic Pirates veteran Steven plays 12-ball with the blue cue. Steven couldn't get a ball on the break, but he only had one error in 21 shots as he played a smart game. Golden Pilots newcomer Max has the next game, using the red cue in 8-ball. Max made a ball on the break and didn't stop there, finishing in 19 shots with no errors in a great performance. Atlantic Pirates captain Delila brings the league to its halfway point today, playing 8-ball with the red cue as well. Delila couldn't make a ball on the break, but she had 21 shots and only one error in a solid outing.
Group six starts as Harrison Specters captain Twinkie II shoots 12-ball with the blue cue. Twinkie II had a pair of balls downed on the break, but positioning slowed her down and gave her 23 shots with three errors by the end of the outing. The silver cue returns to action as Pronger Tridents sophomore Lize plays 9-ball. Lize went empty on the break, but would cruise through the rack in 11 shots without an error. Freedom Cascades captain Jasmine is the 28th player drawn today, playing 13-ball with the blue cue. Jasmine made two balls on the break but took two errors later in the game, finishing at a solid 24 shots. Boston Swifts veteran Ice Cream steps up for 10-ball with the red cue in the next game. Ice Cream failed to make a ball on the break, and got frustrated after two errors and quite a few misses. She ended at 16 shots with a fortunate double-pot of the 7 and 10 to the top side and top left, respectively. The blue cue helps end the group as Americus of the Midland Predators plays 13-ball with it. Americus did not play well after going empty on the break, needing 28 shots and surprisingly only one error to finish it off.
The seventh batch kicks off with Strawberry of the Victoria Spurs playing 10-ball with the red cue. Strawberry barely missed sinking a ball on the break, and then used the 1 as her enforced early on. A contact play slowed things down until she masse-shot the 5 to the bottom left, helping her end with no errors and 15 shots in total. The Nighthawks' Lionel returns for his second game of the day, playing Rotation with the red cue. Lionel had nothing on the break and a fairly flat performance, ending with 28 shots and four errors in the rough game. Infinity Torpedoes captain Smudge is up for 9-ball with the silver cue. Smudge did well with a ball on the break, although one error and a sloppy finish put her at 13 shots in the appearance. Everton Eagles veteran Kirstin plays 12-ball with the red cue in today's 34th game. Kirstin rattled off three balls on the break, two legally, and then finished with 18 shots and two errors in her appearance. Rounding out the group, more 12-ball is set for Eastside Sharks captain Graham, who will use the silver cue. Graham showed off some smart play, needing only 17 shots as he wove around the table with ease and no errors.
After a break, group eight commences with the North Modernistic Nighthawks' Cheddar using the blue cue in 8-ball. Cheddar had nothing on the break and two errors over 22 shots in a decent game. The blue cue stays up as Capital City Sharpshooters captain Chris shoots 12-ball. Chris had nothing on the break, and still needed 23 shots with one error to get through the appearance. Back in 8-ball, another Sharpshooter, the sophomore Pauline, also uses the blue cue. Pauline suffered an empty break and ended up with 21 shots and one error in the appearance. The blue cue's binge continues with 9-ball for Twinkie III of the Whitewater Shores. Twinkie III needed 17 shots even after getting a ball on the break, but she did avoid errors in a mediocre game. Today's 40th game is a season debut for Tysini Hummingbirds captain Leandra, who uses the red cue in 7-ball. Leandra required 13 shots and two errors after scratching on the break, suffering through a rough start of her qualifying season.

Paps made a ball on the break, but then struggled at times before finishing with 23 shots and one error in the appearance. The Flames' Hannah plays her second game of the day in Rotation with the red cue. Hannah had nothing on the break and two errors in a rough start to the game, but she picked up the pace to end with 26 shots. Terrace City Knights veteran Oreo shoots 8-ball with the blue cue in the next game. Oreo had two errors and an empty break among her 20 shots, but she did make her errors productive to limit the damage to her score. The 44th game of the day sees Boston Swifts captain Patches make her long-anticipated season debut in 7-ball with the silver cue. Patches made a ball on the break and took one error for a scratch to end with 10 shots. Wrapping up the group, Commerce Tradewinds star Taylor S. plays 12-ball with the blue cue. Taylor S. cleared off the table in 30 shots after taking four errors in a game that started with nothing on the break.
The final group is fronted by Swordpoint Blades captain Snowball, who uses the red cue for 10-ball. Snowball easily lost her cool in this appearance, with five errors and an empty break giving her 24 shots. The red cue gets a chance at redemption in Sharpshooters sophomore Pauline's second game of the day, where she plays 9-ball. Pauline rifled shots all around the table, making the rack in 10 shots after a ball on the break, and she had no errors. Another Sharpshooter, the veteran Sprinkles, takes the 48th game of the day to play 12-ball with the blue cue. Sprinkles made two balls on the break while scratching for her first of two errors. She did well in the middle, but had a slow finish to get to 23 shots for the game. More 12-ball is on the way as Freedom Cascades veteran Stripes plays in the event with the red cue. Stripes held her own with nothing on the break but only one error over 23 shots, relying on positioning to help her cause. The red cue will end the day in 12-ball as the Spurs' Strawberry makes her second appearance today. Strawberry made a ball on the break and took no errors in a clean 20 shots to finish the day on a positive note.
Qualifying is off tomorrow, but will return for the last two days of the week before a likely two-day break over the weekend.
United Cup - First Round, Leg 1
The first games of United Cup action are here. Many teams are well rested, although two Select teams are without players. We begin with...
The Intel Pitch, Diamond: The Gems will begin the United Cup while hosting the Union. Ms. Puppy will take rest for the Union, while the Gems sit Katelynn after her recent binge of pool appearances. Daisy began with 422 for Modernistic, a solid start to the game. Shadow had all the pace to be good, but exited early at only 314 for Diamond, causing them to fall behind initially. Puff I crashed out with 32 for the Union, clearly needing the rest that she didn't receive. Smokey answered with 258 for the Gems, doing enough to cover the deficit but not much else. Kodiak exploded with 744 for Modernistic, giving them a more stable lead. Pedey gathered 334 for Diamond on his turn, unable to do much against the steep deficit. Sydney C. chipped in with 324 for the Union, capping their attack at 1522. Leonardo tried to rally but bowed out at 180, leaving the Gems with 1086. Modernistic leads by 436 points heading into leg two, giving them some wiggle room should they fail at home.
Volkswagen Stadium, Viewpoint Sound: The Meteors welcome the Arrows in Monday's second game. Nibbles sits for the Meteors, while Hoppy takes the bench for the Arrows. Sally popped 572 for Archtown, overcoming a little fatigue to establish a strong lead. Princess delivered a dud with 18 points for Viewpoint Sound, quickly getting caught on her backhand. Sleepy B. slapped a crisp 590 for the Arrows to double their attack. Hoot had a mediocre 228 for the Meteors, who are looking quite flat in their home leg, which doesn't bode well for them in this competition. Dusky suffered an awkward swing and miss to stick her with just 121 as Archtown has put their offense on cruise. Frosty tried to capitalize with 425 for Viewpoint Sound, but they remain far behind with a player each to go. A. Charlton piled on with 544 for the Arrows, capping their attack at 1827. Dani flipped 289 as the Meteors took a hard loss with 960. Archtown heads home with an 867-point lead and a good chance to advance.
Subway Field, Stonebridge: The two shorthanded teams meet for the first leg of their series. The Wolves' Cobalt and the Monarchs' Dominic are out for both games of this series. Mams knocked 529 for Southern in a good start for the visitors. Juno fired back with 859 for Stonebridge to give them an edge after the first turn. Panda took a stumble at 224 for the Monarchs, causing them to fail to cover the deficit. Hershey took 361 for the Wolves, maintaining their lead well at the halfway mark of the game. Pounce pushed forward with 621 for Southern, doing enough to pull them ahead at least temporarily. Wild Thing poked 286 for Stonebridge, making it a close game heading into the final turn. Salmo failed to help the Monarchs, his 57 points leaving them at a loss with 1431. Vladimir didn't help the Wolves much with 103, putting their final score at 1609. Stonebridge has a thin 178-point lead as they head on the road.
Home Depot Forum, Web City: The last Select leg one meeting has the Spiders hosting the Sharks. Jack will sit for the hosts, while the visitors rest their captain Graham. Chelsea did well for Eastside until she flubbed her final swing to close with 540 points at the start. Waluigi got about half of it back with 285 for Web City, but they'll need more over the rest of the game. Taylor M. stayed strong with 417 for the Sharks, padding their lead a bit on the second attack. Ted couldn't pull back for the Spiders, falling at 224 in a middling performance. Gizmo flipped 280 for Eastside, adding modestly to their lead at this point. Avril made a little progress with 345 for Web City, but they'll need more on the final turn. Cubby shoved 400 for the Sharks to ice their offense at 1637. Chicky Phil fell at an ugly 100 for the Spiders, sealing their loss with 954. Eastside is up by 683 with their home leg remaining.
Toyota Pitch, Freedom: The Cascades begin their United Cup campaign without their captain, Jasmine, while the Stills sit Prism for the first leg of their series. Ruby cranked out 504 for Todavía, attacking with great pace to establish the lead. Roxy showed a surprisingly poised game with 696 for Freedom, pulling them ahead on the first turn. Sierra got a little jittery for the Stills, closing at 144 as they failed to cover the deficit. Nikolai exploded for 1284 for the Cascades, likely assuring them of at least the victory in the first leg already. Bells flicked 337 for Todavía, but they remain deeply behind in the game. Stripes swatted an even 500 for Freedom to add a little more to their lead. Easter managed only 245 for the Stills, giving them 1230 in a hard loss. Stinky let up with a mere 100 for the Cascades, leaving them at 2580 in the win. Freedom travels with a 1350-point lead, giving them a good chance of advancing.
Sony Stadium, Queens: The visiting Prestige bench their captain Acorn, while the Flames elect to sit Briana for some rest ahead of the second leg. Citrus started with 509 for Lighton, a strong contribution in a rare lead-off appearance for the newcomer. Crystal led off with 836 for Queens, showing no mercy as she prepares her side for a deep United Cup run. Spirit collected 295 for the Prestige, a high hit ending her turn a bit too early to cover the deficit. Violetta did a little better with 385 for the Flames, adding modestly to their lead at the halfway mark. Nicole didn't correct course for Lighton with only 208 on her turn, causing them to fall farther behind. Mario went off with 738 for Queens, doing his part to help secure their advantage. Shiny recorded only 227 for the Prestige, setting their losing final score at 1239. Hannah added 314 at the end to give the Flames 2273 in total. Queens travels with a 1034-point lead.
Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: Knights captain Kiwi will take rest in the first leg of this series, while Brownie joins her on the bench for the Crowns. Kayla batted 506 for Royal to begin the game, hoping that her side doesn't suffer the same fate as previous visiting teams in similar situations. Jennifer didn't cover the deficit with 387 for Terrace City, the team still looking a bit fatigued despite a week off. Jake replied with 391 for the Crowns to cover the damage done against them. Oreo took an ugly 146 for the Knights, causing them to fall farther behind at the midway mark. Nightfur shaved her turn at 195 for Royal, continuing to play down to the level of their hosts. Quincy finally sparked Terrace City's attack with 736 on his turn, putting them in the lead with a player each to go. Cassie butchered her turn with only 104 after issues with her bat grip, leaving the Crowns at a loss with 1196. Melissa went off with 655 at the end, sealing the Knights' leg one win at 1924. Terrace City turned things around in a hurry to own a 728-point lead heading into their road match.
Nike Field, Commerce: The Tradewinds are another team resting their captain for leg one, as Tigerette sits out, as does Defenders captain Debby. Bianca had an unsteady start with 250 for Southridge. Solaris didn't do anything differently, ending at 232 as Commerce starts with a small deficit in this game. Stephanie got the Defenders on track with 518 on her turn, a strong appearance on the second attack. Taylor S. replied with 472 for the Tradewinds, again just trailing by a small amount as the hosts keep things close. Wario didn't have a long enough turn to help Southridge, his 271 weakening their lead slightly. Niki made a little progress with 310, but Commerce remains narrowly behind late in the game. Caitlin tallied 373 for the Defenders at the end, capping their offense at 1412. Rosemary pushed at the end with 470 for the Tradewinds, nabbing the win at 1484. Commerce will have to stay sharp, as they only lead by 72 points heading on the road.
That's all for Leg One. The second legs are all scheduled for Wednesday as the league will take a day off from pool to accommodate the decisive matches.
The Intel Pitch, Diamond: The Gems will begin the United Cup while hosting the Union. Ms. Puppy will take rest for the Union, while the Gems sit Katelynn after her recent binge of pool appearances.

Qualifiers 2019 - Day 14
A new day of qualifying is here, starting late due to a delay in the beginning of the United Cup. First up...
Neopolitan of the Pearl Surfers plays 12-ball with the red cue. Neopolitan had a ball on the break but needed two errors over 25 shots to track down a finicky last ball. Swordpoint Blades captain Snowball is next, playing 8-ball with the silver cue. Snowball didn't get a ball on the break, and ended up with a fairly average appearance with 23 shots and no errors in her game. The blue cue cycles around for its first game today, playing 10-ball with the Viewpoint Sound Meteors' Dani. In this game, Dani made a ball on the break and took an error on her first shot, but ended with 12 shots total in a strong appearance. Eastside Sharks rookie Taylor M. gets the fourth game today, playing 15-ball with the red cue. Taylor M. made a ball on the break and kept her errors down to three despite the temptation to move faster. She ended the game with 24 shots in a good performance. The red cue will help close the group as the Diamond Gems' Pedey plays Rotation. Pedey didn't make a ball on the break, but he did well to jump for contact on his first shot. He also had a deflection off the 10 to pot the 12 at the bottom left while sending the 10 to the top right to help him finish at 24 shots and no errors.
Atlantic Pirates veteran Steven leads this group with 10-ball and the silver cue. Steven had no trouble with a ball on the break and two errors in 15 shots as he smoothly worked his way through the game. The silver cue remains in action in the seventh game of the day, as Lighton Prestige captain Acorn plays 9-ball. Acorn needed 17 shots to get through the game, unable to get a ball on the break and showing shaky control of his shots at times, but he had no errors. A. Charlton of the Archtown Arrows goes next, using the red cue for 12-ball. Charlton made three balls breaking from a tight position, and then closed the game in 18 shots with only one error. A former Arrow, the current Todavía Still Ruby, plays 10-ball with the red cue. Ruby had a fantastic break with the 8 falling in the top right, and she navigated some intense shots, scoring 12 shots and two errors in an eventful effort. Viewpoint Sound Meteors newcomer Princess ends the batch with the blue cue in hand for 9-ball. Princess buried a ball on the break and then made a late push to end at 14 shots with only one error.
The third group sees Midland Predators rookie Kitty play 10-ball with the blue cue at the front. Kitty wasn't having any luck after an empty break until she lined up and converted a 1-10 combination to the bottom right to end at 5 shots and no errors. The blue cue gets another look at 10-ball as Commerce Tradewinds star Taylor S. plays in that situation. Taylor S. did make a ball on the break, but she wasted the advantage by taking three errors and ending at 26 shots after some immense struggles with the 4. Southern Monarchs veteran Dominic steps up to play 12-ball with the silver cue. Dominic had nothing on the break, but it didn't slow down his early attack. A couple of late flubs pushed his score up to 22 shots with two errors, but he still did well. The silver cue gets another appearance, playing 10-ball with the Terrace City Knights sophomore Quincy. This game went well despite a flat break, as Quincy finished with only one error in 13 shots. The group concludes with Westside Rockers veteran Midnight's qualifying finale in Accuracy with the blue cue, the fifth player to finish. Midnight made her first 13 shots and ended with 16 total and no errors, for a grand total of 153 shots and just 7 errors.
The 16th player called today is Pacific Volcanoes veteran Leonette, who keeps the blue cue up for 13-ball. Leonette had an awful game, getting nothing on the break and needing a massive 43 shots and five errors to finish it up, as positioning was virtually non-existent. The Meteors' Dani returns to action for her second game today, using the red cue for 12-ball. Dani made two balls on the break, but four errors ran her score up to 26 shots as good offense has fallen apart in this group. More 12-ball follows as the Knights' Quincy plays a second game today, using the silver cue. Quincy made a ball on the break and cruised through the rack with 16 shots and no errors. Archtown Arrows captain Sally is up next, using the red cue for 9-ball. Sally didn't get a ball on the break, but she took only one error in a quick 12 shots to finish her game quite well. The red cue completes the group with Waluigi of the Web City Spiders using it in 10-ball. Waluigi didn't get a ball on the break and suffered two errors as the game went on before pushing his way to finish at 18 shots.
Group five opens with Brownie of the Royal Crowns playing 15-ball with the silver cue. Brownie didn't get anything going early on with an empty break, and she had to heat up to finish at 31 shots and three errors. Everton Eagles newcomer Bear plays the 22nd game of the day, using the red cue in Rotation. Bear didn't do any better, making a ball on the break and taking two errors over his 31 shots as his mid-game shooting let him down. The red cue gets another look, used in 10-ball by the Stonebridge Wolves' Wild Thing. This game went well, as Wild Thing made a couple of early shots to set himself up to convert the 3-10 combination at the bottom right, ending with 5 shots and no errors despite the empty break. The Spiders' Waluigi gets a second game today, using the silver cue for 12-ball. Waluigi didn't need too much help, earning two balls on the break and knocking down the rest of the rack in an error-free 19 shots. Central Warriors captain Twilight closes this group with 8-ball using the red cue. Twilight did get a ball on the break, but she scuffled early before charging to finish with 21 shots and no errors.
The sixth group starts with Midland Predators captain Shawn playing 9-ball with the red cue. Shawn had nothing on the break but was doing fine until an error ruined his late-game plans. He would end up with 18 shots and the lone error. The empty break validated the research for the 9-ball event this year. The Todavía Stills' Prism is next up, using the silver cue in 10-ball. Prism went empty on the break but converted the rest of the rack in 14 shots with only one error in a strong performance. The 28th player drawn today is Southridge Defenders captain Debby, who uses the red cue in 12-ball. Debby made a ball on the break and didn't waste time in attacking early, blasting through stripes. Solids took her some time, but she had only one error in 22 shots to finish the game. The Viewpoint Sound Meteors newcomer Frosty plays 10-ball with the blue cue. Frosty went empty on the break, but managed to close the game at 15 shots with only one error. Westside Rockers captain Misty leads the league into today's break with the silver cue in hand for 10-ball. Misty had a tough finish to her game at 16 shots, taking a ball on the break and one error but also seeing the tip of the cue fall off.
The seventh batch sees Misty make it a back-to-back, using the blue cue for 12-ball. Misty did well here with 16 shots and no errors, and most importantly no lost tips after making a pair on the break. Harrison Specters veteran Lexi takes the next game, using the red cue in 13-ball. Lexi made two balls on the break and ended with 21 shots total and just one error for a bad missed contact. The blue cue is back in action with Sleepy B. of the Archtown Arrows playing 9-ball. Sleepy B. played a messy game, needing three errors and 17 shots after an empty break. Golden Pilots legend Dusty will be the first to use the black cue in league play, as her originally scheduled 15-ball game with the silver cue has to use a substitute. Dusty made a ball on the break and threatened the 15 multiple times without converting. She ended with two errors in her 26 shots. Rounding out the group, Gradley of the Boston Swifts plays 9-ball with the blue cue. Gradley had a poor game, struggling to connect on early shots and taking one error over his 20 shots in a sloppy finish as well.
Group eight kicks off with Atlantic Pirates third-year Isabella shooting 15-ball with the black cue in its second substitute appearance. Isabella made nothing on the break and took a pair of errors in 21 shots, finishing on a 9-15 combination to the top left. Isabella doubles down and becomes the sixth player to finish qualifying as she does Accuracy with the blue cue. Isabella made a ball on the break and took no errors in 16 shots, giving her a total score of 141 shots and 7 errors, which puts her in first place. The black cue returns to action for Archtown Arrows veteran Dusky's 12-ball game. Dusky didn't excel at making the soft touches, getting a ball on the break but taking one error and 23 shots in this appearance altogether. The black cue continues as North Modernistic Nighthawks veteran Cheddar makes her season debut in 7-ball. Cheddar ended her turn very frustrated with 18 shots and one error after an explosive but empty break. Oceanside Waves captain Snuggle wraps up this group with the black cue playing in 8-ball in its fifth appearance. Snuggle had nothing on the break and no errors, but his inconsistency buried him at 26 shots by the end of the game.
The ninth group is begins with Freedom Cascades captain Jasmine playing 12-ball with the red cue. Jasmine narrowly went empty on the break, but breezed through the game in 17 shots without an error thanks to brilliant positioning. More 12-ball is next with the Tysini Hummingbirds' Paps taking a turn with the blue cue in the event. Paps made a ball on the break but also took his lone error with a scratch. He needed 19 shots to complete the effort. The Pronger Tridents' Spot brings the black cue back for 10-ball in his latest appearance. Spot had a great game, with two balls on the break and only one error in 14 shots. Atlantic Pirates third-year Klaus makes his season debut with the black cue in 7-ball. Klaus made nothing on the break but avoided errors in his 12 shots, part of a normal league regression toward the end of an event's qualifying run. The 45th game of the day is Blades captain Snowball's second appearance today, as she shoots 9-ball with the blue cue here. Snowball wasted no time with 3 shots and no errors after her empty break, converting a 1-2-9 combination to the bottom right for the quick finish.
The final group is fronted by Pacific Volcanoes captain Starlight, who shoots 10-ball with the red cue. Starlight did well to end in 3 shots with no errors, double-potting the 2 and 10 to the right corners as called at the end of the game. Following that, Terrace City Knights captain Kiwi plays 12-ball with the blue cue. Kiwi made a ball on the break and took one error in 20 shots to complete her outing. The blue cue stays up for the 48th game of the day, where Commerce Tradewinds captain Tigerette plays 9-ball. Tigerette had a ball on the break, but still needed the 3-9 combination at the top right to end at 10 shots with one error for missed contact. The captain run continues with North Modernistic Nighthawks leader Peach playing 9-ball with the red cue. Peach had a ball on the break, but a pair of errors in her turn slowed her down to 16 shots. The last group ends with another captain, Spice of the Victoria Spurs, playing 12-ball with the blue cue. Spice posted 27 shots and one error after making a ball on the break, a disappointing ending to an up-and-down day.
We fully expect the silver cue to be ready for tomorrow's games, but if it is unable to play, the black cue will be on call.
Qualifiers 2019 - Day 13
We'll do a special weekend session of qualifying today to account for taking Wednesday off this week. First up...
Kodiak of the Modernistic Union plays 10-ball with the silver cue. Kodiak had a hideous start to his game, but after taking his lone error, he settled in and finished at 21 shots. Next up, the North Modernistic Nighthawks' Luigi plays 8-ball with the red cue. Luigi made a ball on the break and worked quickly through solids, and then found a second wind to push stripes down late to end at 19 shots and no errors. The blue cue joins in on the fun with 10-ball, playing with the Terrace City Knights captain Kiwi. She had some lucky bounces, getting a ball on the break and needing only 14 shots with one error to clear the rack. The red cue is back in action with Maplewood Lumberjacks captain Diddley playing 13-ball. Diddley didn't make a ball on the break and took two errors over 29 shots in a rough outing. Finishing the group, Shiny of the Lighton Prestige plays 8-ball with the red cue. Shiny didn't get a ball on the break, but she still blitzed her way through the game with only one error in 19 shots.
The second group begins with the Southern Monarchs' Mams playing 10-ball with the silver cue. Mams had nothing on the break, but made things worse with four mostly avoidable errors, which pushed her score up to 24 shots. Boston Swifts veteran Sweetheart takes the seventh game of the day, using the blue cue in 12-ball. Sweetheart got a ball on the break but took two errors over a strong 19 shots, cruising through the mid-game with ease. Maplewood Lumberjacks mainstay Bryant goes next, using the red cue in Rotation. Bryant needed 30 shots with three errors after his empty break, struggling to find his way amid a cluttered distribution from the break. The Monarchs' Mams returns with the silver cue to play 12-ball. Mams looked much better in this game, overcoming an empty break to close with 17 shots and no errors. The blue cue takes the day into a lunch break with 8-ball played by the Viewpoint Sound Meteors' Nibbles. It started well with a ball on the break, but Nibbles was shaky with his shot placement, and ended up needing 22 shots but no errors in the appearance.
After the break, the Terrace City Knights' Melissa uses the blue cue in Rotation. Melissa made two balls on the break and only suffered two errors over a quick 23 shots. Midland Predators veteran Americus goes next, playing 10-ball with the silver cue. Americus played quite well despite scratching on the break, taking only 14 shots and the one error in her appearance. More 10-ball is on the way with the Harrison Specters' Lexi making her appearance in the event with the blue cue. Lexi made a mess of this game with nothing on the break and two errors in 22 shots, unable to make her shots with the proper tenacity. The 14th game of the day sees Stonebridge Wolves newcomer Wild Thing play 9-ball with the red cue. Wild Thing had a good game going despite his empty break, but three misses on trick plays involving the 4 and 9 raised his score. He eventually closed with 11 shots and no errors by deflecting a shot off the 5 to bump the 9 into the top right. The batch ends with the Terrace City Knights sophomore Quincy playing 9-ball with the silver cue. Quincy didn't have a ball on the break, but the reigning MVP didn't take an error either, ending with 13 shots in the game.
The silver cue leads off in group four, as Jennifer of the Terrace City Knights plays 15-ball. Jennifer didn't have the right style for either a reckless or controlled attack, splitting the difference and ending up with 40 shots and seven errors in an ugly outing. More silver cue action comes in 12-ball with the Lionel of the North Modernistic Nighthawks. Lionel rattled off the game in 20 shots despite taking two errors, as the ball he made on the break proved helpful. Todavía Stills veteran Bells gets off the blocks in her season debut in 17-ball, playing with the silver cue. The third-year didn't get anything on the break and didn't make friends with her positioning, ending at 30 shots and two errors in an ugly outing. Wild Thing knocked a ball in on a bad break, and then rallied with 17 shots and no errors to complete a strong game. Another 8-ball game sees the Pearl Surfers' Beth play with the silver cue.
