We're back for a new week of qualifying action. First up today...
The Modernistic Union captain Ms. Puppy plays 8-ball with the blue cue. Ms. Puppy made a pair of balls on the break, but needed 28 shots with two errors to finish the game in an ugly start to the day. Another captain makes her season debut in the second game of the day, as the Swordpoint Blades' Snowball uses the blue cue in 7-ball. Snowball made a ball on the break, but also struggled with precision, pushing her score up to 12 shots and two errors for the appearance. The Archtown Arrows' Hoppy is next, also using the blue cue in her season debut. Hoppy had an empty break in her appearance, but made the 1 quickly and deflected the cue off the 2 to pot the 7 at the bottom right to end with 2 shots and no errors. The Web City Spiders' Ted follows that with 12-ball using the silver cue. Ted made two balls while scratching on the break in his appearance, and then totaled 25 shots and three errors in a solid overall game. The blue returns in the group finale as the Modernistic Union's Puff I shoots 8-ball. Puff I made a pair of balls on the break, but experienced the same lack of cohesion later on, ending with two errors and 24 shots.
Group two leads off with the Diamond Gems' Pedey using the blue cue in 9-ball. Pedey had a ball on the break and only one error over 12 shots in a strong performance. The North Modernistic Nighthawks' Lionel gives the red cue its daily debut in 9-ball. Lionel had a couple of balls on the break, but his late offense fell apart and he ended up at 13 shots with one error. The Westside Rockers' Goatee keeps the red cue in action for another 9-ball game. Goatee struggled with an empty break, but she cranked a shot at the 3 into a cluster, and the 9 popped into the bottom side to end her turn at 5 shots and no errors. The TodavĂa Stills' Ruby gets the ninth game of the day, playing 8-ball with the red cue. Ruby made a ball on the break and had only one error over 18 shots in a fantastic performance that showcased her lofty skills. Closing out the group, Capital City Sharpshooters captain Chris uses the silver cue in 9-ball. Chris made a ball on the break, but struggled early on with his lone error before settling in to score 17 shots. The 9-ball majority era is officially here.
The third group begins with Diamond Gems captain Smokey using the red cue in 10-ball. Smokey narrowly missed a ball on the break, and took one error over the next 15 shots in a solid performance. The red cue goes again in Terrace City Knights captain Kiwi's 8-ball game. Kiwi fired a strong break and got the 8 to drop at the top side, giving her the rare 0 shots and zero errors stat line for the event. Following that, the North Modernistic Nighthawks' Gal plays 9-ball with the blue cue. Gal did well herself, making a ball while scratching on the break, but finishing with 3 shots as her shot on the 2 deflected the 9 to the top right. She had one error. The pressure is high for Central Warriors rookie Andrew, who takes the silver cue in hand for 8-ball. Andrew didn't keep up the unsustainable play, ending with 24 shots with no errors after an empty break. The 15th game of the day belongs to the Queens Flames' Hannah, who shoots 12-ball with the silver cue. Hannah picked up a ball on the break and only took one error over 21 shots in a strong and balanced game.
The fourth set starts with the Harrison Specters' Lexi using the silver cue in 9-ball. Lexi knocked in a pair on the break, but negated the advantage with a pair of errors in the middle of the game. She finished with 15 shots and the two errors. A season debut awaits for the Modernistic Union's Kodiak, who uses the silver cue in 7-ball. Kodiak made it quick, unable to sink anything on the break but cranking a 1-7 combination that caromed into the top left to give him 1 shot and no errors in the game. The 18th player drawn today is Oceanside Waves sophomore Jason V., who plays 10-ball with the red cue. Jason V. potted nothing on the break and had two errors early on before closing down with 15 shots in a strong outing. Eastside Sharks veteran Gizmo joins the pace with his Rotation game using the red cue. Gizmo buried a ball on the break and took only one error while finishing the rack in a crisp 25 shots. The group ends with Victoria Spurs star Yekaterina shooting 8-ball with the blue cue. Yekaterina didn't make a ball on the break, but needed only 21 shots with no errors to finish her appearance.
The fifth batch gets going with Bryant of the Maplewood Lumberjacks playing 10-ball with the blue cue. Bryant made a ball on the break and had no errors in the 5 shots it took him to convert the 5-10 combination to the top right to finish his appearance early. The blue cue stays in action for Jack of the Web City Spiders, who shoots 8-ball with it. Jack had nothing on the break and took an early error for illegal contact. He eventually finished the game at 25 shots with just the one error. Jennifer of the Terrace City Knights is next up, using the red cue in 10-ball. Jennifer showed some agitation in her game, taking three errors but finishing early with a 6-10 combination to the top right to finish at 14 shots. More 10-ball is on the way for the Boston Swifts' Sweetheart, who will use the silver cue for her appearance. Sweetheart looked sharp early on and ended with 14 shots and one error despite going empty on the break. At the back of the group, the Viewpoint Sound Meteors' Hoot keeps the silver cue up for 12-ball. Hoot played an eventful game, with 19 shots, including two errors, and two balls on the break.
Group six opens with Precious, the Pronger Tridents captain, shooting 10-ball with the red cue. Precious had difficulty racking up the game, but she knocked it down in 4 shots with a 3-10 combination to the top right, avoiding errors to ice the cake. The 27th game of the day sees the Golden Pilots' Max make his season debut in 7-ball with the silver cue. Max made a ball on the break, but his shooting was loose, resulting in three errors over 12 shots in a mediocre start to his season. Moving along, the Capital City Sharpshooters' Missy uses the blue cue for 9-ball. Missy had nothing on her break and an early error before tightening up to end with a decent 14 shots. Jason V. of the Waves returns for his second game of the day, using the red cue in 12-ball. Jason V. took two errors and 21 shots to get through the appearance this time, struggling at times with positioning. Ending the group, Strut of the Golden Pilots does 9-ball with the blue cue. Strut made a ball on the break and took an error over 13 shots in a somewhat eventful appearance.
The seventh bunch kicks off with Midnight of the Westside Rockers shooting 13-ball with the silver cue. Midnight made two balls on the break and had only one error in 23 shots for a solid performance. Lighton Prestige captain Acorn is the 32nd player drawn today, and he'll play 8-ball with the blue cue. Acorn charged quickly through the rack despite an empty break, closing with 17 shots and no errors. Next up, Waluigi makes his pool debut for the Web City Spiders, using the red cue in 7-ball. Waluigi made a ball on the break and quietly ended the game with 9 shots and no errors for a solid first impression with his new team. The Harrison Specters' Blizzard keeps the red cue in action for her 8-ball appearance. Blizzard had an unusually good game going for someone with two errors, but karma caught her and pushed her score up to 22 shots at the end. The Knights' Jennifer returns to wrap up this group with her 12-ball game using the blue cue. Jennifer had nothing on the break and two errors over 23 shots in a reasonable outing.
Group eight is fronted by Capital City Sharpshooters veteran Sprinkles, who uses the silver cue in 9-ball. Sprinkles had nothing on the break, but started well before a pair of errors inflated her score to 16 shots. The silver cue gets another chance in 9-ball with Pacific Volcanoes newcomer Cowzart. It didn't start well for the journeyman veteran, but he ended with 15 shots and no errors after taking a ball on the break and a lot of painful misses. Next up, the Lighton Prestige newcomer Citrus makes her season debut with the red cue in 7-ball. Citrus made a ball on the break and quickly took her only error before settling in to finish at 8 shots. The Southern Monarchs captain Panda plays 8-ball with the silver cue in today's 39th game. Panda had nothing on the break and couldn't sink simple shots early on, driving his score up to 26 shots with only one error. Rounding out the group, the Whitewater Shores' Marsell resets the pace to 15-ball as he uses the blue cue in the event. There was very little pretty about this game, but Marsell made a 5-15 combination to the top right to end at 20 shots and three errors.
Kayla of the Royal Crowns heads group nine with a 12-ball game using the silver cue. Kayla couldn't get anything on the break, but she did knock down the rack in 21 shots with only one error. Another Crown, Jake, plays 10-ball with the blue cue in 42nd game of the day. Jake had a ball on the break, but took two errors before deflecting a shot off the 7 to push the 10 to the top right. Jake needed 15 shots for the game. The Sharpshooters' Missy plays a second game today, using the red cue for her 10-ball appearance. Missy did about the same, scratching on the break and then playing well from there to finish with 15 shots and just the one error. The Everton Eagles' Cleo brings the silver cue back to action for some 8-ball. Cleo had a ball on the break, but also took three errors over 30 shots, as it looks like her great qualifying run last year will not be repeated. Finishing the group, Rainmane of the Midland Predators shoots 9-ball with the blue cue. Rainmane didn't get anything but one of her two errors on the break, but she banked the 6-9 combination to the top side to end with 9 shots anyway.
The final group is activated by the Harrison Specters captain Twinkie II, who uses the silver cue for her 9-ball game. Twinkie II didn't get anything on the break, but she finished in 9 shots even with one error. The Central Warriors' Noelle goes next, playing 10-ball with the red cue. Noelle had one error and 16 shots in the game, unable to tighten up for a better score near the end. The 48th player drawn today is Cubby of the Eastside Sharks, who keeps the red cue active for 8-ball. Cubby made two balls on the break, but faded a bit in the middle, taking one error in 22 shots for the game. The blue cue steps in as Debby, the Southridge Defenders captain, shoots 9-ball in the penultimate game. Debby made a ball on the break and managed to overcome a single error to finish at 14 shots. Finally, the Lumberjacks' Bryant plays the last game today, his second appearance of the day being in 12-ball with the silver cue. Bryant made a ball on the break, but it didn't count for much with 30 shots and four errors dampening his performance.
We'll be back at an earlier start time tomorrow for more qualifying action.
