BMW RockDome, Westside: The top two teams play a true doubleheader in Westside, with Chimpy out for the hosts while Dusty sits for the visitors in the first game. Valencia chopped 515 for Golden at the start as the division's two best teams begin their clashes. Misty answered with 550 for Westside in a quick response, making it a close start. Strut posted 375 for the Pilots, weakening their attack a bit on the second turn. Slinks slammed 635 for the Rockers, finding a groove and riding it to get the hosts ahead at the midway point. Max covered the deficit with 364 for Golden, but only by a thin margin as the hosts return to batting. Goatee did just fine with 670 for Westside, pulling them firmly ahead. Sparkles had 542 for the Pilots, which left them just short of forcing a response at 1796. Midnight provided a quick 355 to cap the Rockers' win at 2210. Westside wins round one to get to 18-0, while Golden drops into a tie for fifth at 7-6.
BMW RockDome, Westside: In the immediate rematch, the Rockers rest Slinks for her pool appearance, while the Pilots sit Strut for regular rest. Dusty couldn't do as much as she wanted with 290 for the Pilots in her return to the lineup, maintaining their lead at best. Goatee cut into the deficit with 376 for the Rockers, making it a very tight game with a greater emphasis on defense than in the previous meeting. Max put up 407 for Golden to give them their strongest lead of the game. Chimpy collected 432 for Westside against one of his former teams, tying the game as the final players come to bat. Sparkles had a modest pace but couldn't make up for it with longevity, her 328 endangering the Pilots' chances of winning with 1416. Midnight did exactly what she needed to, playing a short turn at a high pace to score 363 as the Rockers prevail with 1451. Westside's streak runs to 19-0, while Golden is down to 7-7.
HP Field, Midland: These Southeastern rivals play a home-and-home doubleheader, beginning with the Swifts resting Patches for the first time while Kitty is on the bench for the Predators. Puff II stood her ground with 561 for Boston in a rare lead-off appearance. Shawn couldn't match that level, hitting 319 for Midland to start their game. Gradley butchered his turn with only 72 for the Swifts, fumbling a ball into his wicket after swinging low. Rainmane fired off 541 for the Predators, covering the deficit halfway through the game. Sweetheart replied with 518 for Boston, trying to keep their heads above water in a surprisingly competitive game. Americus took a fall with 96 for Midland, the ugly turn allowing the visitors to have the lead heading into the final turn. Ice Cream added 407 at the end for the Swifts, closing their attack at 1558. Fuchsia couldn't manage the rally necessary, ending with 341 as the Predators lose with 1297. Boston rises to 5-3 at the start of a four-straight-games run, while Midland is down to 1-10 ahead of the rematch on Saturday.
Coca-Cola Field, Boston: Sweetheart is out for the Swifts in the second game of the two-day back-to-back, while the Predators go without Americus for this meeting. Shawn had only 177 at the start for Midland, putting them in a bad position right away. Patches answered with a relatively modest 451 for Boston, giving them a slight lead. Rainmane responded with 733 for the Predators, giving them a jump on offense to cover the deficit. Puff II slipped at 193 for the Swifts, causing them to remain behind at the halfway mark. Fuchsia didn't do much to protect Midland's lead, her 209 exposing them for another turn. Gradley struggled as well with 146 for Boston in a fairly ugly game on both sides. Kitty did well to provide the Predators with 467 at the end, capping their offense at 1586. Ice Cream charged with 763 for the Swifts at the end, but they fell short at 1553. Midland is up to 2-10 with the win over their rivals, while Boston drops to 5-4 with two more games to go in their stretch.
Coca-Cola Field, Boston: Sparkles takes the bench for the Pilots as they clash with their biggest Southeastern rival, while the Swifts are set to sit Gradley for this affair. Valencia wants to get Golden on the right track after a pair of losses to the Rockers, swiping 590 to begin this game for the visitors. Patches clubbed 974 for Boston in response, as they are keen on making the most of their busy week. Dusty fumbled at 185 for the Pilots, the former MVP struggling to find a rhythm in the middle of the season. Puff II added a strong 484 for the Swifts, keeping them firmly in control. Strut popped a quick 390 for Golden, causing them to lose a little more ground. Sweetheart hammered 685 for Boston on her turn, padding their lead more heading into the final players' turns. Max couldn't do a comeback for the Pilots, his 295 setting their losing score at 1460 as they are now 0-4 on their road trip with one game left. Ice Cream knocked 532 for the Swifts to close out their win at 2675. Boston rises again to 6-4, while Golden sinks to 7-8 as their skid persists.
Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: Fluffina is set to sit for the Torpedoes, while the Swifts complete their four-straight game stretch with Ice Cream sitting out. Patches showed fatigue again with 348 for Boston to lead off this game against a deceptive host. Smudge just topped it with 350 for Infinity, going with a great pace but skying a ball fairly early in her appearance. Puff II found pace as well, but ended with 285 when she hit a ball too high, limiting her productiveness in the choppy game. Shelley launched 784 for the Torpedoes to put them significantly ahead at the midway mark. Gradley looked uncomfortable during his turn, and he posted only 298 for Boston as his personal slump continues. Mr. Snowman made a small gain with 375 for Infinity, keeping them well in front with a player each to go. Sweetheart didn't push much with 310 for the Swifts, accepting their weakly balanced loss at 1241. Hughbert rattled off 420 for the Torpedoes at the end to ice their win at 1929. Infinity takes the upset win to get to 5-7, while Boston is now 6-5.
Samsung Whitewater Stadium, Whitewater: The Pilots end their five-game road trip with Dusty on the bench, while the Shores sit their captain Shaggy. Valencia smashed 944 for Golden at the start, desperate to help her team break their cold stretch. Marsell answered with 597 for Whitewater on his turn, keeping them somewhat close. Strut had only 208 for the Pilots, weakening their lead with the poor second attack. Twinkie III made a little progress with 355 for the Shores, but they are still noticeably behind halfway through the game. Max chipped 280 for Golden after flicking the last offering too high. Katharine rallied with 560 for Whitewater, doing enough to cover the deficit heading into the last turn. Sparkles dropped at 250 for the Pilots, leaving them with a vulnerable total of 1682. Rosalina did more than enough with 422 for the Shores, capping their win at 1934. Whitewater proved resilient to get up to 5-10, while Golden's 0-5 road trip has them down to 7-9 and spiraling.
Coca-Cola Field, Boston: The former top team in the league, the Swifts, will rest Puff II in their sixth game of the week, while the undefeated Rockers look to officially change the guard without Misty. Slinks rattled off a quick 714 for Westside, setting the tone as the most dominant team in the league. Patches got jammed on the hands and scored only 81 for Boston on their first turn. Goatee churned her way to a decent 424 to add some more to the Rockers lead on the second attack. Gradley got stalled at 164 for the Swifts, unable to combat the heavy deficit. Chimpy crushed 1055 for Westside, likely confirming the result right then and there. Sweetheart picked up 392 for Boston, but it's all window dressing at this point. Midnight likely earned herself a game off with 321 for the Rockers, icing their offense at 2514. Ice Cream added 391 for the Swifts, sealing their pitiful loss at 1028. Westside makes it 20-0 to start their year, while Boston dips to 6-6, their next game determining their feelings during a busy week.
Nestle's Warriors Park, Central: The Swifts sit Gradley to finish their seven-game week, while the host Warriors play without Dustin in their only game this week. Patches struggled at the start with a mere 100 points, the impending break unable to arrive soon enough for her. Twilight didn't take off all that well with 341 for Central, giving them a slight lead initially. Puff II collapsed at 144 for the Swifts, unable to cover the small deficit. Wings couldn't play a high-bouncing ball for the Warriors, letting it slide down his backhand and onto his wicket to stop him at 180. Sweetheart made a gain with 388 for Boston, but they remain behind despite her effort. Andrew went off with 671 for Central, the rookie helping the hosts to clamp down at the end of a sloppy game. Ice Cream failed to play a backhand, ending at 81 as the Swifts embarrassingly lose with 713 overall. Noelle tapped 319 at the end to secure the Warriors win at 1511. Central remains one of the better teams in the division with a 7-5 record that puts them in second place, while Boston is 6-7 after the 3-4 week.
BMW RockDome, Westside: The Rockers have Midnight on the bench as they try for a half-season of wins, while the Pirates sit Steven for well-earned rest. Delila began with 526 for Atlantic, a good mark in most games but maybe less so against this opponent. Misty's turn was snapped at 298 for Westside, allowing her to recover only half of the deficit. Isabella wrapped her bat around 1050 for the Pirates to make a massive boost for their lead. Slinks couldn't do much with a low pace, ending at 279 for the Rockers as they slowly become aware of their situation. Klaus stumbled with 115 for Atlantic, a dangerous mistake even with their large lead. Goatee floated 590 for Westside to cut into the deficit, but they have a long way to go with one player left for each team. Jason N. added 305 for the Pirates at the end, giving them 1996 total. Chimpy tried to push, but ended up with 451 as the Rockers lose for the first time with 1618 overall. Atlantic evened the season series with the league leaders, rising to 8-6, while Westside is 20-1.
Nissan Infinity Stadium, Infinity: Smudge rests as the Torpedoes close a five-game home stand against Southwestern rivals, while the Hummingbirds bench Paps in the week 7 finale. Sarah posted a solid 422 for Tysini to begin the scoring in this intense rivalry match. Fluffina had some pace but sent a ball high to end with 376 as Infinity manages to keep it close at first. Leandra played reactive early in her turn, but turned it up to 712 for the Hummingbirds by the end. Shelley responded with 569 for the Torpedoes, doing what she could to mitigate the damage the visitors have done. Charli tacked on 454 for Tysini in a good appearance after two straight games on the bench. Mr. Snowman allowed the visitors to get away from Infinity when he managed a measly 48 points after failing to play a ball on his backhand. Vincent grabbed 402 for the Hummingbirds to cap their offense at 1990. Hughbert didn't go quietly, but his 490 left the Torpedoes short at 1483. Tysini beats their rivals to get to 3-9, while Infinity is 5-8.
That's all for week 7 action. Cricket returns on February 25 for the first round of the United Cup.
