Elite Cricket 2019 - Week 19

Elite action plays on a Saturday this week, beginning with...

Verizon Field, Pacific: The Tridents begin the week with a doubleheader, sitting Zach against the Volcanoes, who have Cowzart on the bench. Precious got going in positive form with 509 for Pronger on the first turn. Starlight showed energy for Pacific to lead off with 611, giving the hosts a slight lead. Spot weakened the Tridents' offense with 328 on the second attack. Ms. Kitty added a bit to the lead with 470 for the Volcanoes, putting them in a strong position halfway through the game. Potter covered the deficit with 450 for Pronger. Twinkie I let Pacific slip behind with an appearance of just 160. Lize contributed 371 for the Tridents at the end, setting their score at 1658. Leonette kept a steady hand early and racked up 542 for the Volcanoes to win with 1783. Pacific is up to 19-16, while Pronger is 22-15 with the loss.

Henry Ford Memorial Stadium, Pronger: The Tridents cross the map and sit Spot for the second game of the doubleheader, while the Prestige give Citrus the game off. Acorn swatted 595 for Lighton in a confident opening turn. Precious pulled Pronger ahead with 705 on her turn, giving the hosts a thin initial lead. Spirit faltered with 218 for the Prestige on their second attack. Zach nearly doubled the Tridents' offense with his 694, putting them comfortably ahead now. Nicole fired back with a pacey 575 for Lighton, trying to keep the visitors competitive. Potter's recent struggles persisted with only 130 for Pronger, causing their lead to weaken dramatically. Shiny didn't do well for the Prestige either, her 144 leaving them at 1532, which needs only a tiny response from the hosts. Lize added 280 for the Tridents to seal the win at 1809. Pronger bounces back to 23-15, while Lighton dips to 12-22. The result assured Pronger playing in Elite at a minimum next season.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: Kiwi is getting a rest for the Knights this time, while the Cascades have benched Stinky again amid recent struggles. Jasmine didn't have any hesitation in churning out 659 for Freedom to start the game. Jennifer kept Terrace City close with an even 600 on their first turn of the game. Roxy dropped the pace a bit with 373 for the Cascades on the second attack. Oreo took advantage of the opportunity, slamming 655 for the Knights to put them ahead at the midway mark. Nikolai wouldn't be stopped, crushing 863 for Freedom to restore a large lead for the visitors. Quincy attacked with 581 for Terrace City, recovering most of the deficit heading into the final players' turns. Stripes had a high pace, but a bad swing stalled her at 384 to give the Cascades 2279 overall. Melissa didn't meet the challenge with 224 for the Knights, their losing total resting at 2060. Freedom wins the high-scoring duel, going to 16-18, just a half-game back of 17-18 Terrace City.

Apple Park, Todavía: The Stills sit Easter in their home finale, while the visiting Prestige bench Spirit for rest in the sixth game of a seven-game road trip. Acorn cranked out 560 for Lighton to lead things off this time. Ruby had a lackluster 220 for Todavía, putting them at a deficit from the first turn. Citrus dropped off a bit with 280 for the Prestige, doing enough to maintain their lead for now. Sierra blitzed her way forward with fifteen-straight sixers, ending with 707 for the Stills, enough to give them the lead. Nicole fired back with 447 for Lighton on a pacey attack, attempting to keep the hosts honest. Bells did her job, rallying with 575 for Todavía to extend their lead a bit more with a player each to go. Shiny covered the deficit with 510 for the Prestige to ice their score at 1797. Prism pulled back 334 for the Stills, enough to claim the win at 1836. Todavía ends their home run at 8-14 and moves to 16-26 overall, while Lighton is 12-23.

Nike Field, Commerce: Two teams in the middle of the promotion fight battle, with the Volcanoes sitting Twinkie I while the surging Tradewinds bench Taylor S. despite her strong home form. Starlight had all the pace but a short turn with 360 for Pacific. Tigerette did enough with 454 for Commerce to gain the early lead. Ms. Kitty didn't make much of an impact with 260 for the Volcanoes, just covering the deficit modestly. Solaris knocked 534 for the Tradewinds on the second attack, extending their lead nicely. Leonette had an awkward cadence to her swings, falling at 272 with a lack of pace as Pacific continues to trail. Niki butchered her turn with just 65 for Commerce, leaving them a little vulnerable late in the game. Cowzart's 434 for the Volcanoes covered the deficit, setting their final score at 1326. Rosemary notched 395 for the Tradewinds, not enough to match the turn but enough to win at 1448. Commerce won the battle to rise to 25-15, while Pacific slips to 19-17.

Sony Stadium, Queens: The Flames begin a home doubleheader here with Mario taking regular rest, while the visiting Surfers rest Bright. Watermelon scattered 314 for Pearl to lead off the game. Crystal fired off 540 for Queens in response, a strong turn to put the hosts ahead initially. Boots countered with a solid 420 for the Surfers on the second attack. Violetta lost ground with only 300 for the Flames, slightly weakening their lead halfway through the game. Neopolitan took advantage of the weakness, striking 439 to pull Pearl ahead at least temporarily. Briana did a little better with 490 for Queens, staking out a still-small lead late in the game. Beth's 305 covered the deficit with 1478 for the Surfers. Hannah covered the damage with 339, securing the Flames' win at 1669. Queens is up to 26-12 while Pearl drops to 21-13.

Sony Stadium, Queens: The Flames finish the doubleheader by sitting Hannah in the Castle Derby, while the visiting Crowns give Nightfur a rest. Kayla rolled out 521 for Royal, staking out a nice lead against her former team in the process. Crystal got most of it back with 484 for Queens, keeping things close after the first turn. Jake cowered with 144 for the Crowns, a weaker turn endangering their lead. Violetta rallied with 661 for the Flames, her towering second attack carrying the hosts to a nice lead. Brownie missed a swing and knocked a ball into her wicket at 256 for Royal. Briana easily extended Queens' lead with 554 on her turn, putting them in a good position late in the game. Cassie made a push with 633 for the Crowns, only to come up short at 1554 overall. Mario tapped another 472 for the Flames, icing their win at 2171. Queens rises again to 27-12, just a game out of first place, while Royal falls to 9-30.

Audi Knights Pitch, Terrace City: The Knights are set to begin a doubleheader, sitting Melissa, while the Prestige have Shiny sitting out the final game of their seven-game road trip. Acorn hammered 873 for Lighton in an excellent opening turn for the visitors. Kiwi stumbled with a mere 176 for Terrace City, putting the hosts on the wrong foot right away. Citrus made a more modest addition with 310 for the Prestige. Jennifer tried to attack with pace, but she clipped the boundary at just 200 as the deficit worsens for the Knights. Spirit had no rhythm on her turn, producing a meager 82 as Lighton continues to flirt with danger. Oreo pushed back with 844 for Terrace City, making it suddenly very close late in the game. Nicole had a disappointing 230 for the Prestige at the end, stalling their offense at 1495. Quincy did enough with 379 to complete the comeback for the Knights, who won with 1599. Terrace City jumps to 18-18, while Lighton skids to 12-24.

Nike Field, Commerce: The Knights make a short trip for an Urban Derby, sitting Jennifer while the rival Tradewinds bench Niki for performance from the last game. Kiwi drilled 579 for Terrace City to start the scoring. Tigerette pummeled 705 for Commerce in response, dragging the hosts into an early lead. Oreo wouldn't back down for the Knights, raking in 595 on the second attack to keep them strong on offense. Solaris covered the damage with 606 for the Tradewinds, maintaining their lead at the halfway mark. Quincy lost some ground with 447 for Terrace City, but it was enough to cover the deficit again. Taylor S. made another addition for Commerce with 529, growing the lead again heading into the final turn. Melissa's 341 for the Knights forced a response from the hosts to a final score of 1962. Rosemary did her part, scoring 410 to give the Tradewinds the win at 2250. Commerce soars to 26-15 while Terrace City drops to 18-19.

Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: Feisty players sit in a pivotal game, with the Surfers resting co-captain Watermelon while the visiting Cascades give Stripes a seat. Jasmine struggled with a middling 292 for Freedom on the first turn. Boots charged with 674 for Pearl in response, giving the hosts a significant early lead. Roxy fired off 387 for the Cascades on the second attack, just barely covering the damage from the previous turn. Neopolitan easily reclaimed the lead with 526 for the Surfers. Nikolai again pressured the hosts with 580 for Freedom, keeping the visitors involved in the game. Bright muscled up with 470 for Pearl, ceding a little ground but retaining the lead as the final players come to bat. Stinky ultimately took the loss with 280 for the Cascades, setting their final score at 1539. Beth tallied 314 for the Surfers to take the win at 1984. Pearl jumps to 22-13, while Freedom is 16-19.

GE Stadium, Southridge: The Flames' final Castle Derby match is here, with Violetta out versus the Defenders, who sit Caitlin in this rivalry match. Crystal got off to a decent start with 407 for Queens against a deceptively strong foe. Bianca showed a little of that hidden power with 497 for Southridge to give them the first taste of the lead. Briana had an unusually poor turn on the road with only 250 for the Flames this time. Debby pushed the Defenders on with 537, extending their lead at the midway point. Mario faltered at 128 for Queens, making a comeback less likely for the visitors. Stephanie brought the Southridge crowd to a standing ovation as she hammered 1126 to likely secure the game in favor of the hosts. Hannah's 156 capped an inexplicable dud of a game for the Flames at 941, the second time they failed to crack four digits at this venue. Wario walked away with 146 as the Defenders claimed the win with 2306, by and far their best game of the year. Southridge is 11-25 while Queens drops to 27-13. For the Castle Derby series title, the Defenders need to win the final match versus the Crowns, taking the title on a tiebreaker after going 3-1 versus the Flames this season.

Honda Driftwood Coliseum, Pearl: The Week 19 finale sees the Surfers sit Beth while the Knights wrap up a four-game week without Quincy in the lineup. Kiwi failed at 121 for Terrace City, a poor turn from the suddenly inconsistent captain. Watermelon answered her sister's effort with 451 for Pearl, establishing a lead for the hosts. Jennifer flicked 511 for the Knights on the second attack, raising their offense a bit higher. Boots responded with 464 for the Surfers, allowing the lead to shrink a small amount. Oreo kept Terrace City involved with 480 on her turn, forcing the hosts to reply again. Neopolitan floated an even 700 for Pearl to boost their lead one more time. Melissa couldn't manage with 250 for the Knights, leaving them to lose at 1362. Bright locked it down with 484 for the Surfers to cap their win at 2099. Pearl goes up to 23-13 while Terrace City slides to 18-20.

That's all for Elite this week. Premier will play an odd schedule tomorrow, featuring in afternoon and evening sessions most likely.
