Select action returns to the spotlight here, beginning with...

Subway Field, Stonebridge: The Wolves sit Cobalt as they begin another five-game week, while the Spurs start a road doubleheader with Mitchell sitting out. Spice set the tone with 594 for Victoria, wasting no time in getting the visitors ahead. Juno fired back with 425 for Stonebridge, taking a high pace early before fading toward the end of her turn. Yekaterina answered with 603, keeping the Spurs comfortably ahead with a big turn. Hershey plucked 445 for the Wolves, a strong turn but not enough to cut into the deficit at all. Sage slipped at 220 for Victoria, weakening their lead a bit this time. Wild Thing made progress with 416 for Stonebridge, helping to cover some of the deficit. Strawberry churned out 564 for the Spurs at the end, capping their offense at 1981. Vladimir couldn't convert with 208 for the Wolves, sticking them with a loss at 1494. Victoria rises to 18-11, while Stonebridge is 13-15. The result also assured the Southern Monarchs will stay in Select next season.

IBM Nighthawks Nest, North Modernistic: The Spurs continue the road trip with Sage on the bench, while the Nighthawks boldly rest Peach for only the third time this season. Spice couldn't find a rhythm this time, ending at only 227 for Victoria. Cheddar wasted her chance at a lead-off turn with only 96 for North Modernistic as this match starts slowly. Yekaterina surged with 782 for the Spurs, a powerful second attack to grow their lead. Gal made a smaller push back with 434 for the Nighthawks, who remain behind at the midway mark. Strawberry had an early burst of pace and finished her turn with 519 to add to the Victoria lead. Lionel halved the deficit with 575 for North Modernistic, but they've got just one turn left to overturn it. Mitchell supplied a decent 319 for the Spurs to close the game with 1847. Luigi didn't challenge anything with 304 for the Nighthawks, confirming their loss at 1409 in their penultimate home game. Victoria continues to rise to 19-11, while North Modernistic is 25-10.

FedEx Ground, Eastside: The Wolves begin a road doubleheader with Vladimir taking a seat, while the host Sharks sit Cubby. Juno played decently with 396 for Stonebridge, although her swing timing was a little off from the norm. Graham pulled Eastside ahead initially, striking 463 for the hosts on the first turn. Cobalt managed 329 for the Wolves in his return to the lineup, despite playing at a high pace. Chelsea erupted for 858 for the Sharks, strengthening their lead greatly at the halfway point. Hershey did well until a high swing cut him off at 297 for Stonebridge, which maintained a large deficit. Taylor M. kept it steady with 292 for Eastside, not needing to do much more as the hosts hold an advantage. Wild Thing came up short with 361 for the Wolves, leaving them at only 1383 in another loss for the rapidly-fading team. Gizmo finished it off with 464 for the Sharks, their winning total resting at 2077. Eastside is up to 10-20, while Stonebridge sinks to 13-16.

The Intel Pitch, Diamond: The Wolves' road trip rolls on with Hershey sitting this time, while the host Gems look to make a late-season challenge for promotion beginning with Shadow resting here. Juno couldn't put much together, a mediocre 243 accounting for Stonebridge's first attack. Smokey doubled it with 509 for Diamond to give the hosts an early lead. Cobalt's 371 was enough for the Wolves to cover the deficit for now. Pedey pummeled 669 for the Gems in response, regaining a much stronger lead for the hosts. Wild Thing missed his mark with 280 for Stonebridge, leaving them in a trailing position. Katelynn didn't do Diamond any favors with a measly 32 points. Vladimir dropped at 104 for the Wolves, their losing total standing at 998. Leonardo flexed with twelve straight sixers, ending at 443 for the Gems to cap their win at 1653. Diamond is 15-14 now, while Stonebridge plummets to 13-17.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: Two teams hungry for a win meet, with the Spiders sitting Avril while the Union bench rookie Sydney C. Ms. Puppy smacked 778 for Modernistic right at the start, an immediate challenge to the hosts. Waluigi countered with 714 for Web City, keeping the game close amid hot starts on both sides. Daisy faltered with only 195 for the Union, weakening their claim on the lead. Ted pushed 391 for the Spiders, pulling them ahead midway through the game. Puff I slashed 600 for Modernistic, covering the deficit with relative ease. Jack replied with 370 for Web City, not enough to regain the lead but plenty to keep things close heading into the final turn. Kodiak had a mild 240 for the Union to put their final score at 1813. Chicky Phil supplied 339 for the Spiders at the end, giving them 1814 for a stunning one-point win. Web City jumps to 15-17 while bumping Modernistic to 12-17.

Mercedes-Benz Field, Harrison: Highly ranked Northeastern foes duke it out, with the first-place Lumberjacks sitting Summer while the rival Specters bench Rudolph for rest. Whiskers stumbled with 276 for Maplewood, an unusually slow start from the visiting star. Sydney S. had a better pace but fell at 285 with a high swing, giving Harrison a very thin lead. Diddley finally gave the rivalry a bit of a kick with 506 for the Lumberjacks on the second attack. Twinkie II got a lot of it back with 445 for the Specters, but they do trail slightly. Bryant sent a ball sky-high at 192 for Maplewood, endangering their lead in the process. Blizzard partially capitalized on the moment of weakness, tallying 300 to put Harrison ahead with a player each to go. Gabe's 405 for the Lumberjacks forced a response to their final score of 1379. Lexi answered the call with 419 for the Specters, sealing their win at 1449. Harrison moves to 23-12, while Maplewood is 22-9 after the loss.

The Intel Pitch, Diamond: Kicking off the second half of the week, the Gems host a Yellow Derby with Katelynn on the bench, while the Spurs are sitting Spice in their last game this week. Yekaterina had a strong start with 434 for Victoria. Shadow launched 590 for Diamond in response to give the hosts the initial advantage. Sage doubled the Spurs' offense, adding another 434 on the second attack. Smokey easily covered that damage with 564 for the Gems, who saw their lead grow a little at the halfway mark. Strawberry kept Victoria consistent with 417 on her turn, narrowly covering the deficit again. Pedey lost control at 334 for Diamond, weakening their lead heading into the final players' turns. Mitchell led the Spurs with 543, giving them a final score of 1828. Leonardo failed at 81 for the Gems, sticking them with a loss at 1569. Victoria surges to 20-11, while Diamond is 15-15 after the setback.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: The Spiders begin a home doubleheader versus the Meteors -- Chicky Phil sits for the hosts despite his heroics in the last game, while the visitors rest Dani. Princess turned in a vintage opening turn with 1033 for Viewpoint Sound to set them far ahead. Waluigi had a simple 310 for Web City, far from enough to help them make an impact. Hoot didn't ease up much with 564 for the Meteors on the second attack to extend their lead. Ted covered that damage with 590 for the Spiders, but they still face a steep deficit. Frosty pumped out another 619 for Viewpoint Sound, keeping the visitors in a dominant position. Jack slipped at 292 for Web City, unable to get them any closer in a likely loss. Nibbles added 499 for the Meteors at the end, putting them at a total of 2715. Avril bailed at a measly 160 for the Spiders, leaving them at 1352 in a harsh loss. Viewpoint Sound is up to 13-16, while Web City is now 15-18.

Home Depot Forum, Web City: The Spiders finish their home doubleheader with Jack on the bench, while the downtrodden Wolves bench Wild Thing for the last game of a three-game road trip. Juno improved a bit with 454 for Stonebridge this time out. Waluigi narrowly bested that with 456 for Web City, leaving the game up to the rest of the players. Cobalt raised the stakes a little more with 529 for the Wolves, challenging the hosts to match again. Ted didn't meet the standard with 447 for the Spiders, causing the hosts to slip behind at the midway point. Hershey kept Stonebridge on the right track with 414 to boost their lead a tad more. Avril cut into the deficit with 486 for Web City, setting up a very close finish between the two teams. Vladimir had just 168 for the Wolves at the end, leaving them vulnerable with 1565 overall. Chicky Phil came in clutch with 397 for the Spiders to nab a win at 1786. Web City bounces back to 16-18, while Stonebridge drops to 13-18 with another brutal loss.

Subway Field, Stonebridge: The Wolves hope for redemption with their captain Juno taking scheduled rest, while the Meteors sit Frosty against her former team. Princess had very little in the tank for this game, falling at just 167 for Viewpoint Sound. Cobalt tallied 490 for Stonebridge to kick off their attack in fine form. Hoot fell with a mediocre 211 for the Meteors, unable to cover the deficit. Hershey's 361 for the Wolves was enough to protect their lead without doing much to grow it. Nibbles pushed back with 472 for Viewpoint Sound, attempting and nearly succeeding at covering the deficit. Wild Thing pulled away with 402 for Stonebridge, restoring their lead with the solid outing. Dani fell short at 280 for the Meteors, leaving them at 1130 in the loss. Vladimir's 200 gave the Wolves only 1453, but it was enough to win. Stonebridge snapped a four-game losing streak to get to 14-18, while Viewpoint Sound drops to 13-17.

UPS Ground, Maplewood: The Lumberjacks begin a week-ending home doubleheader with Bryant on the sidelines versus their Northeastern rivals, the Spiders, who go without Waluigi. Ted embraced the lead-off role well, slapping 456 for Web City to start the game. Whiskers' fatigue reared its head again as the star had a measly 128 for Maplewood on their first turn. Jack was solid with 371 for the Spiders on the second attack, enough to protect their lead for now. Diddley assembled a pacey rally with 654 for the Lumberjacks, cutting deep into the deficit at the halfway mark. Avril weakened Web City's lead with 290 on her turn, putting them in danger. Summer lifted 705 for Maplewood, surging them ahead late in the game. Chicky Phil posted 364 for the Spiders at the end, giving them a total of 1481, which fell short of forcing the hosts to respond. Gabe iced the Lumberjacks win with 463 individually for a total of 1950 in their seventh straight home win. Maplewood retakes first place for now at 23-9, while Web City sinks to 16-19.

UPS Ground, Maplewood: The Lumberjacks switch jerseys and sit Whiskers in the Week 16 finale, while the visiting Gems will be without Leonardo in this contest. Shadow had pace at first, then stepped back and finished his turn with 454 for Diamond. Maplewood got a nearly-even performance from Diddley, who had 434 to keep the hosts within range early on. Smokey flipped 480 for the Gems on a pacey second attack. Summer clipped the boundary at 65 points for the Lumberjacks, putting them far back halfway through the game. Pedey didn't take advantage of the opportunity, his 108 causing Diamond to become vulnerable. Bryant rattled off 509 for Maplewood to get them back in the fight with a player each to go. Katelynn put up just 245 for the Gems, leaving them with 1287 overall. Gabe couldn't get control of the bat after a false start, exiting with a mere 121 as the Lumberjacks suffer the loss with 1129. Diamond impressively gets the upset win to go to 16-15 while bumping Maplewood to 23-10.

That's it for Select today. We intend to run Elite Week 16 in full tomorrow, but it may need to be fragmented.
