After a disappointing season for the Specters in 2014-15, the franchise decided to make a couple of moves. The team sent fan-favorite Leandra and journeyman Stealth into the free agent pool after down years for both of them. Leandra was picked up by the Tysini Hummingbirds and has formed a potent trio with a top team. Stealth has been mostly a spare part on the highly-successful Swordpoint Blades. Replacing them involved shuffling Twinkie II up the lineup into Leandra's spot and then signing celebrity rookie Sydney Sierota and another well-traveled player, Brownie, previously of the Atlantic Pirates most recently. The results have seen little change for the team, as they stand at 13-19 on the year in 23rd place so far. The Specters are a pitiful 5-11 at home, and only 8-8 on the road as well. They are holding their own in the tough East Division, going 5-6 in those games so far.
The Specters as a team have a middling offense to go with their poor record, as they score 1483 points per game as a unit. The team's biggest problem this year appears to be having sent the wrong star packing last year. Slinks, the star player they retained while letting Leandra go, is having her worst year of her career, relative to the league, scoring only 312 points per game to make up 21% of the offense at a consistency of slightly better than 1.3. Behind her is the new era of the Specters, represented by Twinkie II, who leads the team with an average of 454 per game. Twinkie II composes 30.5% of the team offense, and at a consistency of almost 1.5, making her an elite and reliable source of production. Behind her is the rookie Sydney, who has held her own this year with an average of 409 that has her in the Rookie of the Year conversation. Sydney is good for 27.5% of the offense, and she's holding a 1.6 consistency as well, providing the right mix to make things interesting in the middle of games. At the back of the lineup is Brownie, who will probably be available again in the offseason unless she improves the 306 average. Her 20.5% of the offense is also lacking, and the consistency at 1.5 is more troubling with a low score. As a whole, the Specters should look forward to next season, because this one will only end in non-playoff disappointment.
